Scarlett Moffat forgets she's not on Gogglebox anymore

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt forgets she isn’t being filmed for ‘Gogglebox’ when she watches TV.
The 26-year-old reality star and her parents are no longer a part of the Channel 4 programme, and even though she isn’t living with her mum and dad any more, she still syncs her viewing with theirs and can’t resist giving her own commentary on what she’s watching, even though there’s no one there to hear it.
She said: “I always say to my mam, ‘What are you watching?’ And we’ll watch the same thing and text each other.
“And I still talk out loud at the telly, as if I’m still on ‘Gogglebox’.”
Scarlett – who recently split from boyfriend Luke Crodden – has seen her career take off to new heights since winning ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in November, but she insists she’s no happier than she was this time last year.
Asked if she’s the happiest she’s ever been, she told heat magazine: “I think I was just as happy last year. The only massive difference is I’m a lot more confident.
“I’ve been given a platform to show people that you can achieve anything.”
There has been claims of a rivalry between Scarlett and 2015 ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ winner Vicky Pattison, but she insists that’s not the case.
She said: “I love Vicky, she’s fab, I just think we’re completely different people.
“My idea of a good night is sitting in the house with a pizza or kebab, having a girls’ night. I’m not really a party animal. But because we’ve both got dark hair, been in the jungle and have a northern accent, people are like, ‘Are you twins?’ ”

Spencer Matthews pooped on by bird

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Laing thinks Spencer Matthews is a womaniser because a bird “s**t” on his head the first time he asked a girl out.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star doesn’t think his friend will ever change his ways and claims he acts the way he does with women because he’s still embarrassed by what happened when he approached Formula 1 heiress Petra Stunt, who was known as Petra Ecclestone before her marriage, in the playground in primary school.
He said: “He’s going to be like he is until the end of time.
“Spencer, when he was younger, was this kid who came from St. Barts. He came to school in north London and thought the only way he could becoming cool was if he could ask a girl on a date.
“He’s 10 years old in this playground and he asks Petra Ecclestone of all people, out on a date.
“And, as he asked her out with everyone watching, a bird s**t on his head. Then he went and sat in the classroom until break had ended.
“He’s spent his life redeeming himself and hey, he’s done it.”
Fellow ‘MIC’ star Francis Boulle added: “So, he’s basically damaged. He was literally s**t on.”
And the two stars are unsurprised that Spencer has reportedly been throwing himself at the female contestants on ‘The Jump’.
Jamie told heat magazine: “Apparently Spenny slept with Vogue [Williams] and then he also slept with Jade [Jones].
“If I was a gambling man, I would’ve bet that something would happen.”
Meanwhile, the last series of ‘Made in Chelsea’ saw Jamie’s girlfriend Frankie Gaff move into his house, but she has now moved out again, though they are still together.
He said: “We decided it was a good idea for her to move out and have her own life.
“We’re still together but she’s living with Emily Black and Alex Mytton’s girlfriend [Lottie Moss].”

Gareth Thomas quits The Jump for personal reasons

OHMYGOSSIP — Gareth Thomas has quit ‘The Jump’ for “personal reasons”.
The former rugby union player has walked away from the Channel 4 show just days before the finale and has already been replaced by ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Lydia Bright.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Gareth Thomas has withdrawn due to personal reasons.”
Gareth, 42, had been poised to battle it out with Louis Smith, Kadeena Cox, and Emma Parker Bowles to win the winter sports-themed TV programme.
But Lydia has now assumed Gareth’s place on the programme on account of the fact she was the last to be eliminated.
Gareth is the fourth celebrity contestant to withdraw from this year’s series, after Caprice suffered an illness, Sir Bradley Wiggins broke his leg and Vogue Williams withdrew before an episode had aired.
A representative for Caprice said at the time: “Caprice has actually withdrawn from the competition completely due to illness.”
But even prior to her decision to quit the show, Caprice had been battling with a number of injury problems.
She previously shared: “You are training eight hours a day so I’ve been tired and had bad falls, aches and pains and bruises. I hurt my head and fractured my ribs when I was practicing the ski jump. As I hit the airbag, my skis bashed against me.”
Last year, meanwhile, bosses of the show came under fire when Beth Tweddle broke her back competing in the series, Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder and Tina Hobley injured her elbow.
As a result of the injuries, it was agreed that the majority of the programme, which is filmed in Austria, would be pre-recorded.

The Night Manager to get second series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Night Manager’ is set to have a second series.
The popular programme set tongues wagging when it first aired last year because of the raunchy episodes, which saw Tom Hiddleston – who played the role of Jonathan Pine in season one – strip down for the intimate sex scenes, is set to make a comeback as the script for a follow-up is reportedly “slowly being developed”.
The programme’s director, Susanne Bier, is believed to be working on the production with the BBC and American co-producers AMC, although the creative team behind the series fear a second series will not “live up” to their debut show.
She told BroadcastNow.co.uk: “We all want very much to do a season two but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one,” she said. “That would be a really bad idea.”
And producer Simon Cornwell has revealed the broadcasters are desperate to see another adaptation of John Le Carré’s 1993 novel return to their screens because it has yet to be explored further as the texts did not have a sequel.
He said previously: “Of course, the broadcasters would love to do another series.
“There’s no book and there’s never been a Le Carré story that has been extended beyond the confines of the novel. It would be interesting to try that.”
Meanwhile, the 85-year-old author has announced he will be writing another novel based on the fictional spy George Smiley titled ‘A Legacy of Spies’, which will be published in September this year.
And the BBC are set to adapt John’s 1963 text ‘The Spy Who Came in from the Cold’ into a television production next year.

Eva Green 'in talks to star in Dumbo'

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Green is in talks to play the female lead in Disney’s live-action adaptation of ‘Dumbo’.
The 36-year-old actress has held discussions with the studio about playing a starring role in the new Tim Burton-directed movie, which will be a fusion of live action and animation.
Disney is eager to find a star performer for the new film after a deal for Chris Pine to play the male lead recently fell through, according to Deadline.
The studio has enjoyed considerable commercial success with live-action movies over recent years, having produced the likes of ‘Cinderella’, ‘The Jungle Book’ and the new ‘Beauty and the Beast’, which stars Emma Watson.
And Disney will hope to achieve similar success with an updated version of the 1941 animated movie about a baby elephant with unusually large ears.
Meanwhile, Eva revealed last year that she gets “sad” when she’s typecast as a “femme fatale” – and revealed she’s actually a “geek”.
She shared: “I often get asked if I get worried about being a typecast as a femme fatale. But I have played so many other things! It makes me sad. Is that how people see me, as a dark kind of icy image? I hope not. I am not a Goth. I am a big geek!”
And despite being one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, Eva also admitted she has not always been so confident.
Eva explained: “I was very, very shy as a child, so I felt a bit withdrawn and people always said I was strange. They still say that today.
“I’ve started thinking maybe I am. Because I am not confident to go to parties and do all that ‘lah-lah-lah, ha-ha-ha’, I have to be a bit violent with myself to do things like that.”

Stephanie Davis is in 'talks' for TV return

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis in “talks” about a television return.
The 24-year-old actress – who was known for portraying Sinead O’Connor in ‘Hollyoaks’ until she was sacked by the channel for allegedly turning up to set drunk in 2015 – could be about to make an explosive return to acting following a series of meetings recently.
She explained: “I’m in talks about things at the moment and I’ve got some really good projects coming up for mums and mums-to-be. It’s going to be a good year.”
The brunette beauty also did ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in January last year – during which time she met her boyfriend Jeremy McConnell – and has admitted she’s open to the idea of doing something similar but only it fits around her seven-week-old son Caben-Albi.
She said: “Never say never. We’re talking about things but I’ve got Caben to think about.”
Stephanie only welcomed her little one into the world less than two months ago but already feels like a changed woman because she created such a beautiful being.
Speaking to Star magazine, she said: “I know this sounds funny but I pushed the baby out and I feel like a superhero. I thought: ‘Yes I am a woman and I did carry that baby for nine months.’ I felt brilliant …
“I’m proud of my body but it’s obviously not the way it was before. My tummy is a bit flabby and my boobies have got stretch marks and gone saggy.”
And Stephanie is finding motherhood relatively easy because Caben is so “placid.”
She added: “I’m very content. Having a baby changes you completely. Caben has completed my life. He’s everything I wanted and more.
“I’m just in a good place at the moment. I’m really, really, happy. He smiles now and he’s really strong. He’s always pushing up on his legs and he rolls over on to his sides already. He’s such a placid baby. He really is just a little joy.”

Mandy Moore will star in The Darkest Minds

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore is set to star in ‘The Darkest Minds’.
The 32-year-old actress has been confirmed as the new cast member of the upcoming science-fiction thriller, which is a movie adaptation of author Alexandra Bracken’s book series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will follow a sudden pandemic, which kills the majority of America’s teenagers and children, whilst those who survive the fatal epidemic develop superpowers and are sent to internment camps to be detained.
‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ filmmaker Jennifer Yuh Nelson, 44, is set to direct the production, whilst Shawn Levy will produce the movie under his 21 Laps company, alongside Dan Levine and Dan Cohen.
And writer Chad Hodge is on board to pen the script for the upcoming project based on the 2012 novel.
The brunette beauty will join Amandla Stenberg – who is known for playing the role of Rue in ‘The Hunger Games’ alongside Jennifer Lawrence – in the movie.
The 18-year-old star is set to take on the lead role in ‘Darkest Minds’ as she has been cast as 16-year-old Ruby Daly, who is one of the adolescents who develops telekinetic powers but decides to break out of the imprisonment with other teenagers in a bid to escape the government’s clutches.

Billie Faiers gives birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Faiers has given birth.
The 27-year-old television personality and her fiancé Greg Shepherd have become proud parents for the second time as they welcomed a baby boy into the world on Tuesday (07.03.17).
Billie took to Instagram to share the news with her followers, dubbing her son – who’s name is as yet unknown – as “truly perfect”.
Posting a picture of Greg – with whom she already shares two-year-old daughter Nelly – leaving the hospital with a baby carrier, Billie wrote: “Welcome to the world our beautiful baby boy we love you more then words can describe , you are truly perfect in every way … 07/03/17 (sic)”
And the former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star is set to have her hands full with her new bundle of joy, as her younger sister Sam Faiers previously claimed little Nelly is a “little live wire” all on her own.
The 26-year-old reality star said: “Nelly, her two year old, is a little live wire so juggling having Nelly, being pregnant and Christmas was a bit much. I think she should just put her feet up and take this time now to get ready for her baby.”
Meanwhile, Billie recently admitted she hasn’t been able to stop dipping her hand into the sweet tin since her due date has been creeping ever closer.
She explained: “I’m just at the last hurdle. I haven’t had many cravings, although I’ve eaten a lot more cereal and biscuits than usual.”
And the birth of their son will come as good news to the whole family, as Greg and Nelly were starting to get restless.
Billie said: “He’s [Greg] been saying: ‘Oh god, I really want you to have the baby now.’ This last bit is the hardest …
“The last couple of weeks she [Nelly] keeps saying to me: ‘Can I take him out now?’ ”

Tina O'Brien delays her wedding plans

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina O’Brien has “stalled” her wedding plans.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who plays the role of Sarah Platt in the longstanding soap – has pulled the brakes “a little” on her special day because she is “struggling” to decide what style of ceremony she would like when she ties the knot with fiancé Adam Crofts.
Speaking about her marital plans to OK! magazine, the golden-haired beauty – who got engaged to the dark-haired hunk in May 2016 after meeting six years prior – said: “We started the initial planning and we have stalled a little.
“I’m kind of struggling with what style of wedding I want. Originally I was thinking of having a big wedding, now I’m thinking about something more intimate.
“I’m very indecisive at the minute! Poor Adam is just having to bear with me.”
And the 33-year-old star – who has eight-year-old daughter Scarlett with her previous partner Ryan Thomas, and two-year-old son Beau with Adam – has revealed her oldest child is desperate for her to have the fairytale wedding, which will see her say her vows in a castle whilst she adorns the “biggest meringue dress”.
She said: “She’d have me in a castle in the biggest meringue dress you could imagine.”
Although Tina is undecided on whether she wants an extravagant bash, or a more intimate do, she does know she wants her co-stars to share her special day with her.
Speaking about the guests she wants to attend, she said: “Obviously Helen Worth [Gail Rodwell], who is my ‘Corrie’ mum. I would want Samia Longchambon [Maria Connor] to be there, as I adore her.
“Jack P. Shepherd [David Platt] and his fiancée Lauren, too. Then there’s my on-screen daughter Lucy Fallon [Bethany Platt]. I would love to invite Paula Lane [the late Kylie Platt]. Also the girls I share a dressing room with, so we can have a good dance. That’s Cath Tyldesley, Brooke Vincent and Katie McGlynn. Plus my Rover colleagues Kym Marsh, Simon Gregson, and Beverley Callard and Jennie McAlpine.”

Take That get TV special

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That have bagged their own television show on ITV – again.
The trio – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – have appeared in numerous TV specials on the channel since they reunited as a band in 2006 following a 10 year hiatus, performing hits from a mixture of their albums.
And now ITV have announced their return to the channel, ahead of their upcoming ‘Wonderland Tour’, with a new TV special that will air later this year.
The group, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, have sold over eight million concert tickets and currently hold the record for the fastest selling tour of all time in UK history for their 2011 ‘Progress Live Tour’.
The band said in a statement: “We are really looking forward to performing material from our new album ‘Wonderland’ some of it for the first time. But a Take That special would not be the same without a few classics also thrown into the mix!”
ITV was instrumental in getting the band back together again, as on November 16, 2005, the band met up for the documentary ‘Take That: For the Record’, in which they aired their views over their fame, success, the split and what the post-Robbie Williams line up had done since.
In 2008, Take That presented their own TV show ‘Take That Come to Town’, a variety show in which they performed some of their biggest hits. The show also featured comedy sketches with Peter Kay as Geraldine McQueen.
And in November 2010, ITV also aired ‘Take That: Look Back, Don’t Stare’ – a black and white documentary which focused on the band working together for the first time in 15 years.
It is not yet known whether departed members Jason Orange or Robbie will rejoin the line-up for the show or make a special appearance.
Robbie recently rejoined the band for a one-off performance last month, when he performed ‘The Flood’ on the live final of Gary’s BBC One talent show ‘Let It Shine’.
Since then, Gary, Mark and Howard have been busy rehearsing for their upcoming 32-date tour, which kicks off in Birmingham on May 5.
The band, which are set to release their eighth studio album ‘Wonderland’ on March 24, released one of its tracks ‘Giants’ as a single last month.
The band hold five Ivor Novello Awards and eight BRIT Awards, with their last album as a three-piece, ‘III’, go straight to number one.
Asif Zubairy, commissioning editor, Entertainment, ITV, said: “Take That continue to be one of the best bands on the planet. I’m thrilled that ITV continue their longstanding relationship with the band and will host their brand new TV special. Viewers will be treated to a fantastic show with music that continues to resonate with fans of all ages.”

Jeremy McConnell lays father to rest

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell’s father has been laid to rest.
The 27-year-old reality TV star was seen arriving at the church with his girlfriend Stephanie Davis, with whom he recently reconciled, in Dublin, Ireland, on Tuesday (07.03.17) as he geared up to say goodbye to his dad for the final time.
The heavily-inked hunk didn’t appear to be too sad as he flashed fans a huge smile before he picked up the coffin and carried into the place of worship.
It’s not yet known whether Jeremy performed a eulogy for his beloved dad during the ceremony or what songs were chosen to play before, during and after the funeral.
A representative for Jeremy said last week: “On Friday 3rd March 2017 Jeremy McConnell ‘s father passed away after a short battle with cancer. We ask that Jeremy is given space and privacy at this incredibly sad time.”
This isn’t the first time the ‘Beauty School Cop Outs’ hunk has been forced to say goodbye to his loved ones as he was left devastated as a teenager when his mother, brother and sister all passed away within 15 months of each other.
He said last year: “When I was 15 I was at my cousin’s and my mum fell asleep.
“I got back about two hours later and she was gone – she had a brain haemorrhage.
“Shortly after that my brother broke his neck in a motorbike accident.
“After that, my sister had a heart attack – she suffered with epilepsy. All in the space of 15 months. Of course I miss them, I loved them dearly, but I think that’s what levelled me out a bit – I express myself the way I want to. I just grew up really fast.”
Meanwhile, the passing of his dad comes just seven weeks after his son Caben-Albi, whom he has with the 23-year-old actress, was born into the world.
Jeremy was initially in denial that the little one was his – seeing as him and Stephanie had broken up following a series of blazing rows last May – but has since relocated to Liverpool, where the brunette beauty resides, after a paternity was undertaken.

Julie Hesmondhalgh upset Coronation Street cast by leaving the soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Hesmondhalgh’s ‘Coronation Street’ colleagues were “cross” when she left the soap.
The 47-year-old actress quit the cobbles in January 2014, but the news of her departure after 16 years on the programme left a bad taste in the mouths of her co-stars and the production team because she had vowed to stay there for the long-running show’s 100th anniversary.
Speaking about the reaction to her exit, the star said: “A lot of people were cross with me when I left. I’d lost any thought of doing anything else, so leaving took me by surprise as much as anyone, really. I was really happy at ‘Coronation Street’. When new people started on the show, I’d say to them, ‘I’m Julie and I’ll be here for the 100th anniversary. I love it!'”
However, Julie – who is currently playing the role of sexual assault victim Trish in the third series of ‘Broadchurch’ – didn’t leave the ITV soap because she wanted to make the “big bucks” and, instead, just wanted to spread her wings and try different acting roles.
She explained: “‘Corrie’ gave me an amazing leaving story, but I wasn’t looking for big buck or high-profile things afterwards. I was really happy just to be a jobbing actor, so I’ve been lucky with the things that have come my way.”
Although Julie has starred in other shows since she left ‘Coronation Street’ three years ago, she is shocked to learn her neighbours are oblivious to her new projects as they don’t believe she has returned to the entertainment industry.
She told Inside Soap magazine: “But only yesterday, I was tweeted by someone asking what I’ve been doing. Even my neighbours have assumed I’m not acting any more. That does wound me.”

Chanelle Hayes' pregnancy makes her lose weight

OHMYGOSSIP — Chanelle Hayes has lost weight since getting pregnant.
The 29-year-old television personality – who has six-year-old son Blakely with her former partner Matthew Bates – is expecting a baby with partner Ryan Oates and is finding it tough because she’s suffering from a form of severe morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
Though Chanelle – who has gained 7st in two years – wants to curb her food cravings during her pregnancy, she admits she’s worried the baby isn’t getting the nutrients it needs because she’s currently struggling to keep anything down.
She told Closer magazine: “I struggle to keep anything down at the moment, even water. I was saying to Ryan, ‘Yay I’ve lost weight’ while being sick at the same time.
“I lost 8lbs in one week alone.
“But joking aside, I’ve already been getting really bad anxiety about the baby not getting the right nutrients with the sickness so I’m determined to have a really healthy pregnancy once I’m feeling better.
“I’ll eat in moderation and I plan to get back to the gym as soon as I feel up to it.
“When you’re big, you’re only meant to gain between five and 20lbs during pregnancy – you’re meant to be all bump.
“My midwife told me I was a high category BMI and I shouldn’t be indulging.”
The reality TV star’s obesity means she has problems with her knees and back and is concerned about how her pregnancy will impact on her movement.
She said: “I don’t know if my knees will take this pregnancy, let alone my back.
“Ryan will have to wheel me around by the end.”
Chanelle and Ryan are looking forward to finding out the gender of their baby and plan to throw a party to share the news with their loved ones.
She said: “I bought a kit online where you can find out the sex from nine weeks but you have to prick the tip of your finger and as soon as I did, I threw up everywhere. So I’ll have to wait for my 16 week scan. We’re going to have a ‘gender reveal’ party rather than a baby shower, which will be fun.”

Indiana Jones 5 gets release date

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Indiana Jones 5’ will be released in July 2019.
The fifth instalment of the adventure franchise – which stars Harrison Ford in the titular role – will be released on July 19, 2019, 11 years after the fourth movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ was released.
Disney chairman Alan Horn confirmed in a statement: “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019.
“It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
It also marks the first time the film franchise has been under the Disney studio label after Lucasfilm – who owns the franchise’s rights – was sold to Disney in 2012.
Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the iconic character whilst Steven Spielberg will direct. Husband and wife duo Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy will produce and John Williams is set to score the film’s theme tune.
Spielberg has also confirmed that George Lucas – who created the character to pay homage to the action heroes of 1930s – will serve as executive producer.
Meanwhile, David Koepp previously revealed he has begun writing the script for the hotly-anticipated movie.
He said: “I’m deeply immersed as we speak. All I can say is that there’s lots of aliens and Indy dies at the end.
“Lots of hiding in lead-lined refrigerators, aliens, and he dies. Should go over very well.
“I really like our idea; I think it’s clean and simple and makes a lot of sense, and I feel like the writing is going really well.”
And Koepp doesn’t feel the last ‘Indiana Jones’ was as successful as the previous movies in the franchise.
He added: “It’s hard because you can learn like if something maybe didn’t work as well as you think it would well we certainly wouldn’t do that again, but you wouldn’t have done that again anyway, you already did it, so it’s hard to say. For me it was the MacGuffin dictates everything, and so we tried to make the best possible choice we could. Not that nobody didn’t try to make the best choice that they could in the past, but we tried to give us the one that gave us the Indiana Jones movie we most wanted to see.”
‘Indiana Jones 5’ is slated for release on July 19, 2019.

Dan Stevens looked like 'crash test hippo'

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Stevens looked like a “crash test hippo” on the set of ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
The 34-year-old actor wore a “giant lycra muscle suit” for his part as the Beast in the live action movie and feels his on-set outfit helped him relate to his character.
He told ELLE.com: “It helped that I looked extremely odd on that set. They were incredibly gorgeous, lavish, luxurious sets. The detail was incredible, the costumes were amazing, and every real character that was in the movie looked incredible.
“Then I would sort of lumber in in this giant lycra muscle suit on stilts, ten inches off the ground, looking like a sort of crash test hippo and just hulking around the set. I just felt, first of all, very hot, but very, you know … just very odd, very out of place. So that helped, I think.”
Meanwhile, Dan’s co-star Emma Watson – who plays Belle – feared Dan would break her foot when they danced together for the film’s iconic waltz.
She shared: “Dan was essentially wearing steel-capped stilts. I was slightly terrified my foot was going to get broken or we were going to end up in a heap on the floor. So it had an extra edge to it.”
However, Emma admitted the long rehearsals were the ideal way to bond with her co-star.
She added: “It was actually a really good pre-film bonding. We got to know each other and learned to trust each other. I would recommend all couples go and dance together, stamp on each other’s toes, be completely off-beat. It’s perfect …
“A waltz is the perfect way to do that because you are dizzy and breathless. You are having to put trust in the other person. You are learning how to keep time and rhythm with another person, not just yourself. It’s the perfect metaphor [for Beauty and the Beast’s relationship].”

Gal Gadot: Girls need Wonder Woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Gal Gadot thinks Wonder Woman is the heroine every young girl needs.
The 31-year-old actress is thrilled to be playing the superhero as she wants young women to have someone to look up to when they’re growing up.
She said: “First of all, she doesn’t see that difference between any gender. It’s not even an issue. She comes from this world where men and women are equal and it’s not a thing to be a man or to be a woman. She feels that she can do everything and she will go for it.
“She’s a peace seeker; she wouldn’t go and look to start a battle or a fight. She would try to solve it in any other different way, but I think that’s what’s beautiful about Wonder Woman.”
And that particularly resonated with Gal when she had a conversation with her five-year-old daughter Alma about female role models.
She added to Collider.com: “It’s funny because I just had the conversation with my daughter two nights ago. I put her to bed and I was reading her a story and it was about princesses … and then she was talking about the prince, the guy, she called him the prince, and she said, ‘Yeah, and the prince, they’re usually very strong.’ And I asked her, ‘And what about the princesses?’ [And she said,] ‘They’re weak.’ ‘And how do you think they should be, Alma?’
“She said, ‘They should be strong,’ and I feel very proud that finally this movie is being made, because all of you guys, all men and all boys, always had a figure to look up to, whether it’s Superman or Batman or Spider-Man, or whatever it is, they always had heroes to look up to and for girls, it’s always the princesses are being saved or being passive and finally Wonder Woman, she’s fearless, she’s proactive, she believes in herself. She believes she can do everything, and that’s a true woman for me.”
