Samia Longchambon can't pronounce surname

OHMYGOSSIP — Samia Longchambon can’t pronounce her new surname.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who was born and raised in Manchester – tied the knot with her French beau Sylvain Longchambon last summer after three years together but has been forced to download a language app on her phone to help her with the accent.
Speaking to Women and Lifestyle magazine, she said: “I’m still getting used to saying my new surname – you don’t pronounce the ‘g’ apparently. I still can’t say it. I’ve got an app on my phone to try and help, so I do 15 minutes a day on that to learn.
“I get e-mails to remind me that I haven’t done it that day, so I just sit down and try and learn a bit at a time. I’m still learning the accent too. I can only speak a little bit.”
The couple got together in 2013 after they fell in love while they were partnered together for ‘Dancing on Ice’ but their romance was initially plagued with harsh criticism as Sylvain was in a relationship with ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jennifer Metcalfe at the time.
He dumped the brunette beauty – who he found love with on the same ice skating show the year before – on Christmas Day before striking up a relationship with Samia.
The pair welcomed their first child Yves Joseph into the world in September 2015.
And Samia – who also has seven-year-old daughter Freya from her first marriage to property developer Matthew Smith – is even thinking about having another little one.
She said recently about the possibility of expanding her brood: “Having three children instead of two is a big step, but it would be cool for Yves to have a little brother.”

Taboo to return for second series in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Taboo’ will return for a second series next year.
The first instalment of the drama only came to an end last weekend but bosses haven’t wasted any time securing a follow up as they announced that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as adventurer James Delaney in the early part of 2018.
Tom said of the news: “We are grateful and excited to continue our relationship with the BBC and FX in contributing towards British drama. Fantastic news.”
Executive producer Ridley Scott added: “We’re thrilled people want to know what happens next and that the BBC and FX are up for more adventures with the devil Delaney and the league of the damned. Along with our international distributors, Sonar Entertainment, the BBC and FX have been great partners, supporting Taboo at every stage so it could be the dark, dirty brute of a drama that it is.”
The BBC’s decision to commission a second series comes after the show’s writer Steven Knight revealed he had another content planned for another two series.
He said recently: “We think it has got a two and a three certainly, that’s the plan. After that who knows? This series is eight parts – it’s a lot of time.”
Meanwhile, the future of ‘Taboo’ may look bright, but Knight’s other drama ‘Peaky Blinders’, which is currently in its fourth series and stars Cillian Murphy and Tom, could be heading towards a finale as he’s already come up with the gritty ending.
Knight – who is hoping to pen a movie in the near future – explained: “Never say never, but we feel that [series] five may be the last. We don’t know for sure. We will see how we feel about it. ‘Peaky…’ is one of those things everybody loves, and the response has been so magnificent on both sides of the Atlantic.
“I have got the end in my mind; whether that happens at the end of five is the question. I want it to end when the first air raid siren sounds in Birmingham. It is a story of a family between two world wars.
“It begins in 1919 when they have just come back from the war and the family’s journey is towards legitimacy and respectability and to leave their past behind. The big question of the whole series is this: is that possible?”

Michelle Collins : EastEnders bosses did me a 'favour' killing me off

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Collins thinks bosses did her a “favour” by killing her character off in ‘EastEnders’.
The 55-year-old actress bowed out of the long-running soap in 1998 when her alter-ego Cindy Beale died in childbirth while delivering her daughter Cindy and, although the show is notorious for bringing back characters from the dead, she’s adamant she’ll never make a return.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “I don’t know whether people would buy it though. She is dead. I’ve always dismissed it because she’s been dead so in a way they sort of did me a favour because I can never really go back. But in a way I think I’d spoil it if I go back.”
Despite leaving the programme almost two decades ago, the blonde beauty is thrilled that viewers still remember her and her alter ego is mentioned from time-to-time on screen.
She said: “It’s quite nice having that mystery about her, it’s flattering that people still remember her and that’s she’s become this iconic sort of character really.”
Michelle has also starred in dramas like ‘Death in Paradise’ and ‘Midsomer Murders’ over the years and taken part in taken part in reality show ‘Bear Grylls: Mission Survive’.
But she has admitted it’s been really hard to shake off the “soap actress” label she’s had pinned on her because not only did she make a name for herself in ‘EastEnders’, she also became known for portraying Stella Price in ‘Coronation Street’ from 2011 until 2014.
She said: “It’s taking your career into your own hands, I don’t think TV is what it used to be with Netflix and Amazon, streaming. There’s so many other outlets out there, it’s not just TV anymore. It’s difficult out there, particularly for me because people think they know me. Even though I’ve done a huge body of work between ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Corrie’, having gone back to ‘Corrie’ you’re labelled a soap actress. There’s no disrespect at all and that’s fantastic but if you want to break out and do other things it’s quite difficult.”

Dan Edgar is dating Amber Turner

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Edgar and Amber Turner are dating.
The 26-year-old television personality and the ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ newcomer have confirmed they are seeing eachother following the blonde beauty’s recently split from her long-term boyfriend Jamie Reed, although she knows the timing is “really poor” she is taking their romance slowly.
Amber caused a stir in the first episode of the new series on Sunday (05.03.17) after it came to light she had gone back to an after party at the dark-haired hunk’s hotel room whilst the cast were filming in Tenerife, and praised her co-star – who previously dated Kate Wright on the show – for his good looks.
Speaking about her love life to The Mirror Online, the reality star said: “Since then, things have sort of happened – even though timing’s really poor.
“You can’t plan timing when you start speaking to someone, but we are talking a little bit. It’s not serious.
“I’ve just come out of a long-term relationship and so has he, I’m not looking to get back into a relationship or anything like that, but we are enjoying each other’s company.
“It’s not been something that’s been planned. I could never have planned for this to happen.”
And the 23 year old is shocked by how quickly her life has changed since being on the programme.
She explained: “It’s all a shock to me as well. Things haven’t worked out the way I thought they would. You can’t predict the future.”
The star’s former boyfriend has taken to social media to vent his upset about their break-up, which has irritated Megan McKenna’s best friend.
Amber continued: “I do want to say we’re on good terms now, but he’s [Jamie] a bit more angry and upset about things, and the way he’s handled things I don’t think has been that nice.
“He’s been retweeting and favouriting stuff, and posting cryptic things about cheating.
“It’s a bit disrespectful. I’ve not done any of that.”

Hugh Jackman to star in Enzo Ferrari biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman is set to star in biopic based on Enzo Ferrari.
The 48-year-old actor is in talks to take on the lead role of the late Italian motor racing driver and entrepreneur – who died in 1988 – in a biopic helmed by 74-year-old filmmaker Michael Mann, whilst Noomi Rapace will reportedly play his on-screen estranged wife Linda.
According to Deadline, the dark-haired hunk – who is known for playing the metal claw-bearing mutant Wolverine in ‘X-Men’ – will be set in 1957 and will depict the life of the late race car designer, his career and rivalry with his competitors Maserati, as well as his relationship with his partner.
Mann started working on the movie with the late director Sydney Pollock almost two decades ago, and had reportedly lined up Christian Bale – who was cast as Batman in ‘The Dark Knight’ – to play the lead role, which failed to go ahead because he was apprehensive about gaining weight to play the automobile legend.
Although the production has been on hold for 17 years, it is believed filming for the film will start in the summer of next year.
Meanwhile, Jackman – who is married to Deborra-Lee Furness – can be seen in ‘Logan’, which marks his final appearance in the franchise, although he will be returning to the big screen as he stars in ‘The Greatest Showman’ alongside ‘Manchester by The Sea’ actress Michelle Williams and ‘Baywatch’ hunk Zac Efron.
And Rapace, 34, – who featured in the 2014 crime drama ‘The Drop’ alongside Tom Hardy – has a busy work schedule as she is set to appear in the upcoming thriller ‘Unlocked’ with Orlando Bloom, Will Smith’s ‘Bright’ and the follow up in the ‘Alien’ franchise ‘Alien: Covenant’ alongside Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride and Katherine Waterstone.

Bad Boys for Life loses director

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bad Boys for Life’ has lost its director.
Joe Carnahan – famous for ‘The A-Team’ – has reportedly pulled out of the third movie in the ‘Bad Boys’ franchise due to “creative differences”, plunging the next instalment of the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence movies into crisis, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Not only that, but Carnahan was also the script writer, which means if they are going to pull off the movie, the first in 14 years, they may need to recruit a new scriptwriter too.
The long-awaited sequel had already been pushed back to January 2018.
The original films starred Will as Mike Lowery, and Martin a Marcus Burnett, who are two pals and detectives in the narcotics division of the Miami Police Department.
The first film, released in 1995, charts the duo’s battle to recover $100 million of seized Mafia heroin stolen from a police vault before their department gets shut down.
‘Bad Boys II’ appeared in 2003 and finds the duo investigating the flow of highly-potent ecstasy into the Miami, and although it wasn’t received well be the critics the film went on to make $270 million worldwide.
Smith, 48, and Lawrence, 51, will reprise their roles as drug cops Lowery and Burnett should the movie still go ahead.
The delay in getting the film to the big screen was blamed on a number of issues, including Smith’s hectic schedule.
Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the original two films, revealed back in April last year, that the script was still being written.
In spite of all the difficulties getting the third movie to cinemas Sony reportedly also has a fourth film on its books and plans to release that film in 2019.

Coronation Street's David Platt and Maria Connor to fall in love?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Gail Rodwell is set for a pleasant surprise when her son David Platt tells her he and Maria Connor are “madly in love”.
The meddling matriarch – who is played by Helen Worth – thinks the pair would make a good couple, but the hairdressers find the idea hilarious, and decided to play a joke at her expense.
And Samia Ghadie, who is returning to her role as Maria after a short break which saw her alter ego jailed over her sham marriage to Pablo Duarte, has had a great time filming the scenes with Jack P. Shepherd.
She said: “Gail gets it in her head that Maria and David would make a lovely couple.
“They think it’s really funny, so David says to Maria, ‘Let’s wind Gail up and pretend we’re madly in love.’
“I’ve really enjoyed it – it’s like a big dysfunctional family.”
Samia thinks being behind bars has given Maria a new positive attitude, and though there is a temptation for her to spill the beans about her affair with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), she thinks her character will keep the news to herself to spare the feelings of his girlfriend Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
She told Woman’s Own magazine: “Maria got a year but she only did two months so I don’t think it’s been completely ‘Shawshank Redemption’ for her.
“I think she’s coming out with a new attitude, trying to be positive.
“She’s had time to think about her and Aidan and decided she just wants to move on.
“I think she’s quite enjoying the fact Aidan is nervous [she might tell]. Every time there’s a scene with Aidan and Maria, it’s the massive elephant in the room. But she doesn’t want to hurt Eva so it’s only for Eva’s sake really that she doesn’t say anything.”

Made in Chelsea heading to Mauritius

OHMYGOSSIP — The new series of ‘Made in Chelsea’ is to be filmed in Mauritius.
Stars of the E4 show will head to a luxury five star resort, which is going to cost the channel a “fortune” on the Indian Ocean island known for its pure beaches, lagoons and reefs.
Details of when the series will air and which cast members will be featured in the next installment of the reality show are being kept under wraps at this time.
An insider for the show told The Sun Online: “The resorts they are going to are absolutely stunning – and incredibly exclusively.
“It’s going to cost a fortune, but the results will be the most luxurious scenes we’ve ever shot. Everyone is incredibly excited about it.”
Last month, five new cast mates were confirmed, including Sam Prince – who previously dated Alex Mytton’s model girlfriend Lottie Moss – as well as James Sandford, Ella Willis, Mimi Bouchard and Daisy Robins.
Last year, the posh cast – including Binky Felstead, Francis Boulle, Jamie Laing and Jess Woodley – jetted out to the South of France for spin-off show ‘Made in Chelsea: South of France’, in 2015 they filmed in Los Angeles and in 2014 they went to New York.
Late last year they were forced to scrap filming in Costa Rica after the plane with members of the show’s crew crashed.
Two senior producers and two technical directors had to be rescued by the local coastguard and rushed to the nearby hospital after the small jet transporting them to the Central American country ahead of the show’s one-off special plummeted into the water just off Puntarenas.
A spokesperson for NBC Universal International Studios, which owns ‘Made in Chelsea’s production company, said at the time: “Four of our Production Team on ‘Made in Chelsea’, produced by Monkey Kingdom, were involved in a plane crash earlier today in a resort in Costa Rica. We can confirm that all four people and the pilot are safe and unhurt. No cast were on board.”
The rest of the crew and some of the cast were also en route to the filming location on a separate plane but were forced to fly back to the UK after bosses decided to suspend the special.

Vogue Williams signs up for next year's The Jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Vogue Williams has already signed up to next year’s series of ‘The Jump’.
The 31-year-old model was forced to pull out of the winter sports competition a few weeks ago after she injured her right knee but she’s not letting her terrible tumble put her off as she’s already asked bosses if she can be a part of the line up in January.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the blonde beauty said: “Yes I’ve already signed up for next series. I can’t wait to try again. Having to pull out injured hasn’t put me off at all. If anything it’s made me more determined to win next time.”
The DJ – who was previously married to Brian McFadden – went under the knife last month to transfer part of her hamstring and attach it to her injured right knee.
She said: “Even though I never got to compete officially it was still one of the best experiences of my life. The way I look at it I would be more crazy not to sign up again.”
The extreme show, which is shot in Austria, is notorious for leaving celebrity competitors with life-long injuries and came under fire last year after former Olympians Beth Tweddle snapped her back and Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder.
In a bid to limit the amount of injuries this time around, bosses decided the majority of the series would be pre-recorded – except the first and last episode – but it doesn’t look like it’s gone according to plan as Sir Bradley Wiggins was forced to pull out due to an ankle injury earlier this month while Caprice recently withdrew because of an illness.
Former rugby union player Gareth Thomas also walked away earlier this week – just days before the finale – because of “personal reasons”.
A spokeswoman said: “Gareth Thomas has withdrawn due to personal reasons.”

Deadpool will appear in X-Force film

OHMYGOSSIP — Deadpool is set to appear in the ‘X-Force’ film.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are responsible for creating the story for ‘Deadpool 2’ which will see Ryan Reynolds return as the wise-cracking anti-hero and the sequel will be responsible for introducing the military mutant squad created by Marvel Comics.
Now ‘X-Men’ series producer-and-writer Simon Kinberg has revealed that both Deadpool and Cable – who Pierce Brosnan is currently the favourite to play – will both feature in the ‘X-Force’ film.
He said: “We are working hard on New Mutants, ‘Gambit’ with Channing Tatum, ‘Deadpool 2’ and the new ‘X Force’ movie where Deadpool is alongside Cable and other main characters.”
‘The Grey’ director-and-writer Joe Carnahan and Reynolds have been penning the ‘X-Force’ script together, before the 40-year-old Canadian actor begins shooting his return as Wade Wilson/Deadpool in June.
The X-Force black ops group has at times featured Wolverine, Psylocke, Cyclops, Deadpool himself, Domino, Cable and Colossus among many other characters.
Colossus and Domino have also been confirmed to be appearing in 20th Century Fox’s ‘Deadpool 2’.
Previously discussing their responsibility to set up the ‘X-Force’ movie in the sequel, Reese said: “There is a responsibility we have to the ‘X-Force’ universe, and I do think we will not disappoint the fans going into ‘Deadpool 2’ and then setting up ‘X-Force’ and beyond … Its purpose is not to set up ‘X-Force’. It will likely set up ‘X-Force’, but the drive of the movie won’t be our eyes on movie three.”
Wernick added: “We never want to let the tail wag the dog. We want to tell the best ‘Deadpool’ story we can. But I do think we have a responsibility to think about a larger universe in the way that Marvel does and start to put pieces in place … but we want to avoid that responsibility to the extent that it hurts us. We want to hint at things, we want to plan some characters, and we want to make some nods, but we’re very, very cognisant about making sure that ‘Deadpool’ is above all a ‘Deadpool’ movie.”

Denis Villeneuve wants a break before Dune remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve will get to work on the ‘Dune’ remake once he’s had a rest after completing ‘Blade Runner 2049’.
The 49-year-old French/Canadian director’s schedule has been relentless as once he had finished ‘Sicario’ he moved straight onto acclaimed sci-fi flick ‘Arrival’ and then onto the ‘Blade Runner’ sequel which is in post-production now and is due to hit cinemas in October.
Villeneuve will stay in the science-fiction genre to bring his own vision of Frank Herbert’s book ‘Dune’ – which was made into a movie by David Lynch in 1984 – but only once he’s taken a break after completing his duties on the follow-up film to Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, he said: “I did ‘Prisoners’, and then after that, in the past six years I have done five movies – which is not a good idea! It’s too fast. And I learned a lot, I learned so much, for the time now I need just a little time to digest.
“I would love to just digest and then come back with more energy for ‘Dune’ with fresh ideas. I need that right now! And so I need distance a little bit.”
Villeneuve has long wanted to remake ‘Dune’ and tell the tale of the battle for the planet Arrakis back to a new generation of cinema goers.
He previously said: “I had been wanting to do sci-fi for a very long time; ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ is a movie that really impressed me as a teenager and also ‘Blade Runner’. ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ is also one of my favourites. I’m always looking for sci-fi material, and it’s difficult to find original and strong material that’s not just about weaponry. A long-standing dream of mine is to adapt ‘Dune’.”
The 1984 ‘Dune’ film received negative reviews upon its release but as the decades have past the film – which starred Kyle MacLachlan, Sir Patrick Stewart, Francesca Annis, Leonardo Cimino and Brad Dourif among others – has become a cult classic of the genre.

John Bishop tries out his gags for The Nightly Show in a London pub

OHMYGOSSIP — John Bishop practised his ‘The Nightly Show’ gags in a London pub so that it wouldn’t be a flop.
The 50-year-old comedian took over the reins of the new ITV programme from David Walliams this week as a host of celebrities take it in turns to host the show over an eight-week run.
But he took extra measures to ensure the show wouldn’t be a bore, after last week’s debut run of shows failed to pull in viewers, with its debut rating of 2.8 million dropping to just 1.2 million.
According to the Daily Star, John made a surprise appearance at the Old Rope comedy night in the basement of The Phoenix Pub in London on Monday (07.03.17) to rehearse his jokes.
At just £6-a-ticket, around 60 punters were hoping to see upcoming comedians take to the stage but instead they were treated to a sketch from the Scouser – who usually plays to packed arena crowds with tickets selling for £28-£45 each.
An onlooker said: “He snuck in right after the show started and he was on his own. I couldn’t believe it. He looked nervous and told everyone, ‘I’ve got a lot of dog material to try because it’s Crufts this week’. He looked a little underwhelmed by the reaction, embarrassed even.”
It’s understood that John did the gig shortly after the pre-recording of Monday’s edition of ‘The Nightly Show’, which aired at 10pm.
The source added: “I thought ‘The Nightly Show’ went out live so I was surprised to see him still on stage at 9.50pm!”
And in order to gauge his audience’s reactions to his gags, he recorded his performance on his mobile phone.
John’s first show on Monday (07.03.17) pulled in 2.4 million viewers.

Zara Holland suffers with endometriosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Holland is battling with endometriosis.
The ‘Love Island’ star – who was known as Miss Great Britain until her crown was swiped away from her because she had sex on television – has revealed she’s been diagnosed with the common chronic condition, which is when the tissue normally lining the womb is found on organs outside the uterus, and is desperate to raise awareness.
The blonde bombshell told OK! Online: “I was diagnosed by having a laparoscopy three years ago, they lasered off the endometriosis and fitted the Mirena coil to help stop the growth. Living with endometriosis is terrible. My first Mirena embedded isn’t self in my womb, second time it rejected it after six months, now its third time lucky!
“I have had heavy bleeding, I’ve had have to take time off work, I wouldn’t eat, painful sex and so tired. Endometriosis can effect fertility too, which really really scares me.
“I had a scan last week and everything’s ok, coil is in the right place but I have abrasions (scar tissue) on my right ovary which can be very painful at times. I am ovulating too so all good for now!”
Endometriosis is estimated to affect around 2 million women in the UK – with most patients being diagnosed between the age of 25 and 30 – and can be a debilitating.
The most common symptoms, according to the NHS, include; painful periods or heavy periods, pain in the lower abdomen pelvis or lower back, pain during and after sex, bleeding between periods and difficulty getting pregnant.
It’s not fully understood what causes the condition but there are treatments available that can ease the ease symptoms so the condition doesn’t interfere with daily life.
The 21-year-old beauty shot to fame in 2015 when she became Miss Great Britain which, in turn, led to her securing a place on ‘Love Island’ in the summer of 2016.
However, she hit the headlines when she was stripped off the title and the crown was passed on to runner-up Deone Robertson because she got frisky on screen.

Isabelle Huppert reveals approach to revenge role in Elle

OHMYGOSSIP — Isabelle Huppert didn’t want her character in ‘Elle’ to be a victim because of the rape revenge storyline.
The 63-year-old French actress recently won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama and earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her performance as Michèle Leblanc – the daughter of a psychopath who ends up playing a cat-and-mouse game with her rapist after she is assaulted in her own home.
Huppert prepared for the part by reading Philippe Djian’s novel ‘Oh…’ – on which director Paul Verhoeven’s movie is based – and decided that the character couldn’t display the typical traits of a woman who had been wronged in the worst possible way.
Asked how she got the role, Huppert said: “I approached a producer and he approached Paul Verhoeven after I read Philippe Djian’s book and I thought, ‘That’s a good role.’ It’s a wonderful story, very complex, very challenging, very provocative, very disturbing. Michele never behaves like a victim, even when she has every reason to, because of her mass murderer father and then her rapist. Even strong women in the movies have that temptation to veer towards emotion hanging over them. I resisted. Making her mellower would have been a serious mistake.”
Huppert took many cues for her performance from Djian’s book but she also gives Verhoeven – whose other work includes ‘Robocop’, ‘Total Recall’ and ‘Basic Instinct’ – a lot of credit for bringing out such an incredible performance from her.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “Because the characterisation of Michele in the book and the film revolves around the fact she doesn’t act in a predictable way. I don’t think she ever really knows what she wants so nor did I, as the actress playing her. You could say the film is a revenge thriller but the way it gets there is very mysterious.”
Addressing the issue of whether you need courage as an actress to play a character like Michèle, Huppert – who stars in the film with Laurent Lafitte and Anne Consigny – added: “I don’t think it needs courage. Of course, to do a movie like Elle you have to be in complete complicity with the director. It’s all about mutual confidence and trust, which I had with Paul Verhoeven. Once you have that, nothing can happen to you, you just do it.”

Jason Momao to star in Just Cause

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa is to star in new action movie ‘Just Cause’.
The 37-year-old actor is to play Rico Rodriguez, an operative for an organisation known as the Agency in the project, which is an adaption of Square Enix’s video game franchise of the same name.
Director Brad Peyton is on board to helm the project, which will be a reunion for the pair as they worked together on Netflix series ‘Frontier’. The script is being penned by Walking With Dinosaurs’ John Collee.
No plot details are available for the project yet but it is believed to follow a similar path to the video game storyline which will see Rico get a crisis of conscience while on a mission and decide to go it alone.
‘Just Cause’ first hit home consoles in 2006 and has spawned two sequels; ‘Just Cause 2’ in 2010 and ‘Just Cause 3’ in 2015.
There is no date yet for shooting to commence on the project as Peyton’s is due to start filming another video game adaptation ‘Rampage’, which will star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson battling giant monsters intent on destroying a city.
Momoa is also going to be busy playing DC Comics superhero Aquaman, who will be seen in the upcoming ensemble movie ‘Justice League’ released in November and his own standalone movie in the DC Extended Universe.
Filming on ‘Aquaman’ is due to start later this year with a proposed release date of October 2018.
Momoa has shared his thoughts on the script for ‘Aquaman’, describing the movie as like nothing that anyone has ever seen on the big screen before.
He teased: “I read the (‘Aquaman’) script and let me just put it this way, I’ve never seen a movie that’s anything like this. It’s going to be a world that you’ve never seen before, which is really cool.
“We went to space, we travelled all over different worlds, but we never went underwater. So it’s just a really cool spin on what’s below and it uses a lot of great movies that I already love – whether that be ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ to ‘Star Wars’ to ‘Lord of the Rings’ to ‘Romancing the Stone’. It has a lot of really cool adventure, it’s funny and heroic, and there’s a lot of different characters and a lot of different worlds that we get to go to. So I’ve never really seen anything like it.”
‘Aquaman’ will also star Amber Heard as Queen of Atlantis Mera, Patrick Wilson as the titular character’s evil half-brother the Ocean Master Orm Marius, Willem Dafoe as a friend and adviser to Aquaman named Vulko and John Cleese in an unknown role but one that has been described as a “significant part”. Nicole Kidman is rumoured to be portraying Arthur Curry’s mother Atlanna.
