CBB bosses want couples

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ bosses want to send couples into the house.
Producers were happy with the success of Heidi and Spencer Pratt’s two stints in the house, in 2013, and the recent All Stars series, and think it would be a great idea to fill the famous abode with twosomes when the show, which is hosted by Emma Willis, returns to screens in the summer.
A source told The Sun online: “It’s seriously early for anything to be set in stone but bosses are working hard on the idea and talking to the couples about big money deals to firmly secure them for the series in the summer.”
However, it isn’t just couples in relationships that bosses will be considering for the new series as The Cheeky Girls – who shot to fame on ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ in 2002 – could follow in the footsteps of fellow twins Jedward and sign up for the show.
Other names in the frame include drug mules Michaella McCollum Connolly and Melissa Reid, who were freed from jail in Peru last year, and ‘Too Fat To Work’ star Stephen Beer and his wife Michelle.
Stephen has previously admitted he tried to apply to go on ‘Big Brother’ – but accidentally sent his video to producers on the US version of the show.
He said: “I was asked to fly over to the USA to meet the producers of ‘Big Brother’ US.
“I meant to apply for ‘Big Brother’ UK, but I sent the application video to the United States show by accident.
“They invited me to go over for an audition, but I couldn’t get my visa in time – or a passport.
“I want to prove to everyone I’m not what they think I am.”
It was claimed earlier this week that ‘Geordie Shore’ stars and on/off couple Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear – who have both won the show in the past – will be returning to the house together this summer.

Hugh Jackman happy with R rating

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman used to “wince” over the Wolverine movies’ family-appropriate ratings.
The Australian actor and director James Mangold pushed for the final film in the Marvel series, ‘Logan’, to be given an R rating and it has been a relief for him to be able to portray the character’s dark side free from restrictions.
He said: “It seems to me that Wolverine may be one of the darkest, most complex characters in the comic-book universe.
“Every time for the last 17 years I’ve seen PG-13, a little part of me has winced going, ‘Wolverine would never be in a PG-13 movie’.
“All Jim and I were apprehensive about was taking off the seatbelt, taking off any kind of restriction and just diving into this character.”
But the 48-year-old star insists the movie hasn’t been given such a high rating because of violent content.
He told SFX magazine: “It’s not R rated because of the violence, although there is R-rated violence in it.
“That rating is about the subject matter, the way the characters are treated as well as the way the violence is depicted.
“I think this is far more realistic than anything we’ve done before in the ‘X-Men’ franchise and maybe many other comic-book movies, far more human.”
Director James previously admitted the R-rating allowed him to have more “freedom” when making the movie as he didn’t have to worry about appealing to a broader audience.
He explained: “I knew that if Hugh and I could get an R, then we’ll have the freedom to make an adult film.
“Because the second the marketing arm of a studio realises it cannot market to children, five or six creative things happen. The scenes can go deeper, and can be written for adults. Not just language, not just [violence], as you’re saying, but the themes can be more interesting, the words you’re using can be more complicated. The ideas can be more complicated.”
He said, too, that the movie’s R rating means there is less pressure to fill ‘Logan’ with the sort of gimmicks that can create merchandising revenue.
He added: “Also, the film comes under no pressure to be a platform for the sale of toys. Because there’s going to be no kids to see it.”

Avatar 2 release delayed again

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Avatar 2’ won’t be released in 2018.
James Cameron has revealed that the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2009 fantasy film has had its release date pushed back yet again, despite plans for it to come out on December 21, 2018.
He told The Toronto Star: “2018 is not happening.”
James – who is working on four sequels to the movie simultaneously – called it “an epic undertaking, not unlike building the Three Gorges Dam”.
However, he added: “We’re full-tilt boogie right now.”
James previously spoke about shooting all four movies together, comparing it to a TV miniseries.
He said: “It’s not back-to-back. It’s really all one big production. It’s more the way you would shoot a miniseries. So, we’ll be shooting across all [‘Avatar’ scripts] simultaneously. So, Monday I might be doing a scene from movie four, and Tuesday I’m doing a scene from movie one.
“We’re working across, essentially, eight hours of story. It’s going to be a big challenge to keep it all fixed in our minds, exactly where we are, across that story arc at any given point. It’s going to be probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever done.
“I’m sure the actors will be challenged by that as well. It’s like, ‘No, no, no, no, this person hasn’t died yet, so you’re still in this phase of your life.’ It’s a saga. It’s like doing all three ‘Godfather’ films at the same time.”
And he claimed he wasn’t worried about when the movies will be released.
He said last year: “We haven’t moved that target yet, but we will if we need to.
“The important thing for me is not when the first one comes out but the cadence of the release pattern.
“I want them to be released as close together as possible, If It’s an annual appointment to show up at Christmas, I want to make sure that we’re able to fulfill on that promise.”

Downton Abbey trying to round up cast like 'cats'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Downton Abbey’s Phyllis Logan has admitted trying to round up the entire cast to shoot the highly-anticipated period drama movie is like trying to “herd cats”.
The 61-year-old actress – who was known for portraying Mrs Hughes in the series – is adamant plans for a big screen adaption of the show will go ahead at some point but bosses are struggling to line up schedules because the cast – including Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and Hugh Bonneville – are tied up with other things.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (10.03.17), she said: “The will is definitely there with everybody involved. The will is definitely there.
“So, let’s fingers crossed that we can make it all come about at some stage. And we’d love all to get back together again and have one last hurrah, we certainly would.
“‘There’s so many of us. There’s so many of us.
“In normal film situations you might have a core cast of half a dozen or whatever. But this is a core cast of thousands it feels like at times. And so… herding cats?”
Rumours that a blockbuster was in the pipeline have been rife since the ITV drama left television screens in 2015 following five successful years.
The show’s writer Julian Fellowes said previously: “I hope there is going to be a film. I would like there to be a film. There are many factors as like all the actors in ‘Downton Abbey’, we made them famous. Now they have all gone off and they are doing films, theatre or TV series so it will be quite difficult rounding them up.”
As well as a film, Julian is also thinking about bringing the programme back to screens by putting together a prequel with an entirely new cast.
He explained: “I think it would be possible to do a prequel that was re-cast and do a sort of a love story so you went right back and had the young cast arriving in the show as footmen and Mrs Patmore being a kitchen maid. It would work if you told everyone’s story from 30 years before. You could do that with a different cast.”

Georgia Kousoulou gave boyfriend 'bible of rules'

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Kousoulou gave her boyfriend Tommy Mallet a “bible of ground rules” when they first started dating.
‘The Only Way is Essex’ may be notorious for tearing couples apart because of the pressure of playing out their relationships on screen, but the loved-up pair are convinced they’ve managed to stay together for three years – meaning they’ve smashed the show’s “curse” – because they laid down some terms beforehand.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (10.03.17), Georgia said: “I do feel like we are the only couple in the history of ‘TOWIE’ that have stayed together and not broke up. I think we’ve had to learn and adapt on the show, that’s why the viewers can relate to us, they’ve grown with our relationship.
“They’ve seen every step of the way but we’ve had to learn and adapt but we’ve done it well. I set out some rules. I set out like two pages! I had to for my own benefit. But didn’t it help us? I think all girls going forward should have rules, it just helps relationships.”
The couple aren’t actually engaged at the moment but Tommy has admitted marriage is “on the cards”.
Georgia said when pushed on what type of nuptials she wants: “We’ll have a big Greek and Irish-themed wedding. You get to smash plates, do some mad Greek dancing and pin £50 notes on each other!”
Tommy added: “Arg [James Argent] is going to sing. I’d love to get Craig David there, too – I’m a huge fan!”
However, the blonde beauty is adamant she won’t air her big day on television because it’s “personal”.
She said recently: “I don’t really care where I get married now. I just want to marry Tommy. I don’t think I want to put the wedding on ‘TOWIE’ because it’s our special day and it’ll be too invasive.”

Danniella Westbrook mugged in Marbella

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook has been mugged by two men on a moped in Marbella.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star – who was known for playing Sam Mitchell in the long-running soap – is still trying to settle her nerves after two mystery men grabbed her bag from her shoulders while she was walking back to her apartment in Spain.
She said: “F***ing hell, I’m shook up. I’m an old girl now. It could have been a lot worse. I was just walking along with my bag on my shoulder, kerbside, and I wasn’t in the road. They must have obviously gone past a few times.
“I’m literally walking along one minute on the phone and I just felt something pull me fast. It was like when someone pushes you to go by fast. As it pulled me I said, ‘Pardon me’ and I just saw my bag starting to go with it. I started to get half dragged and I just put my arm out and the bag just come off my arm and they just went.”
The 43-year-old actress – who has had cash flow issues over the past year after a battle with septicaemia forced her out of work – not only lost her expensive Prada bag in the attack but also 600 Euros, a phone, an expensive watch and some clothes.
She explained to The Sun Online: “It had cash in it and my work phone. I had my work phone in there and luckily I had my iPhone in my hand. There was some training stuff, a pair of trainers and that’s all they’ve got away with – my Prada bag. It could have been a lot worse, he could have dragged me down the bloody road with it.”
Despite the frightening attack, Danniella hasn’t been left too traumatised by the ordeal and feels perfectly safe in her apartment in the Spanish resort.
She said: “I live in an apartment which is good to me. I park underneath and I’ve got concierge downstairs so everything’s fine so I’m not fussed by that. My days of having big villas and swimming pools are long gone.”

Danny DeVito in talks to join live-action adaptation of Dumbo

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny DeVito is in talks to star in the live-action adaptation of ‘Dumbo’.
The 72-year-old actor and director is reportedly being lined up to play the ringmaster in the Disney classic, reworked by Tim Burton.
According to Deadline, actress Eva Green is also in talks to join the film as a French trapeze artist but the conservation is in its infancy at the moment.
Ehren Kruger has penned the script and will produce alongside ‘Tron: Legacy’s Justin Springer.
The 1941 movie follows the journey of a baby elephant, whose large ears ostracise him from the other circus animals. However, with the help of the friendly Timothy Mouse, Dumbo realises what makes him unique is just what he needs to save himself from a sticky situation.
Filmmakers are still searching for the right person to play the role of the father – one which was linked to both Will Smith and Chris Pine in the past – and they are also on the hunt for someone to play the main villain, the circus owner.
The movie will follow in the footsteps of Disney’s other live-action creations including ‘Maleficent’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Disney also has a number of live-action reboots – such as ‘The Lion King’, ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Mulan’ – in the works too.
If DeVito does decide to join the movie, he will reunite with Burton once again after the pair worked together on 1992’s ‘Batman Returns’.

Jonathan Wrather can't speak to in-laws

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Wrather has never had a “proper conversation” with his father-in-law.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star – who plays manipulative Pierce Harris in the soap – is desperately trying to learn German because his wife Catherine was born and raised in the Western European country and has admitted there’s a language barrier between him and his in laws.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Friday (10.03.17), he explained: “I’m teaching myself German at the moment. My wife is German and I haven’t learnt any German yet. All her family speak excellent English except, he won’t mind me saying this, her dad can’t. I’ve never actually had a proper conversation with my father-in-law. ”
The loved-up couple have two young children together and were riddled with anxiety a few weeks ago when their baby daughter was rushed to hospital with bronchiolitis.
He explained: “Well, this was only a few weeks ago, she got bronchiolitis – It’s quite common in young babies – so her airways were all inflamed so she had great difficulty breathing. It was terrifying, as you can imagine, so she ended up being in hospital. She was looked after amazingly well at Macclesfield [Cheshire] … It’s terrifying to walk in and see all these tubes going into her. She’s fine now, she’s great, really good.”

Kristen Stewart wasn't a 'natural performer'

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart wasn’t a “natural performer” growing up.
The ‘Twilight’ star wouldn’t have ever considered becoming an actress when she was younger as she was “so self-conscious” and a “shaky little weirdo”.
She said: “And I was so self-conscious, so not a natural performer, just some shaky little weirdo. But there was a scout in the audience, someone who sends out 100 headshots of kids to the studio. And I somehow caught wind of this and thought, ‘I want that, I want to act.'”
However, the 26-year-old actress did spend a lot of times on set as her father was a set designer and her mother worked as a script supervisor.
She added: “So I grew up on set and it always felt like summer camp. Because when a crew comes together, it’s like your own band of pirates, protecting your treasure. It takes over your life. My mum and dad would come home so late.
“I’d get up at one in the morning and run out and they’d have craft service in their bag and all these crazy stories about their day and they’d even smell different. They’d smell like the world. Like they’d been out in the world.”
And Kristen doesn’t understand when actors say the role they’re starring is has “nothing to do” with who they are as a person.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “I can be nothing other than myself. I know actors who say, ‘Oh, this role had nothing to do with me, it’s just the character.’ And I think, ‘Yeah, but it is your interpretation of the character.’
“Because you can never get away from being you. That’s always going to be there. That’s the persistency of life. An interaction with a good director might bring you closer to aspects of yourself that might have been less apparent before. But it’s still about self. It’s still all about me.”

Screenwriters Wade and Purvis sign up for new Bond movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Wade and Neil Purvis have been signed up for the new Bond movie.
The screenwriting duo – who have worked on ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ amongst other Bond movies – have reportedly agreed to contribute to the script for the upcoming movie, which has been given the working title of ‘Bond 25’.
However, there is still doubt whether Daniel Craig will return in the titular role, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.
Meanwhile, Naomie Harris – who stars as Moneypenny in the last two outings of the spy franchise – insists she has no idea if Daniel will return as Bond.
She said: “I don’t know. Everyone keeps asking and I’m like, ‘Guys, I don’t know.’
“No one believes me but genuinely, I really don’t know. I really hope he comes back. I hope he does. But who knows at this point? I think the only person who knows, to be honest, is Daniel.”
And Naomie admits she has equally been drawn into speculation about who will be Bond in the next film.
She added: “I love Barbara Broccoli and Stephanie [Wenborn] and the Eon team and obviously Michael Wilson. I met them recently and said, ‘What’s going on guys? Because everybody keeps asking me.’ I was believing the hype. I was like, ‘Is it Tom Hiddleston? What’s going on?’ They were like, ‘Naomie, nothing is happening.’ Because they’re doing another film at the moment. They were like, ‘We are focusing on this film. We have nothing to do with that.’ ”
Meanwhile, the team are said to be setting a contingency plan to find a new Bond after Daniel reportedly refused to contact studio executives to confirm or deny his involvement with the next movie.
A source said at the time: “Daniel and MGM are currently at a stalemate with him having not spoken to them about Bond.
“They have offered a bigger wage deal, and asked about his filming availability to his reps in 2017, but as of yet they have not spoken to Daniel.”

ITV scraps Stephen Mulhern's Go For It

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Mulhern’s game show ‘Go For It’ has been scrapped after just one series.
ITV has decided against making another instalment of the programme because bosses at the broadcasting giant are keen to experiment with different formats for the coveted early-evening Saturday night slot.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Stephen did a brilliant job hosting an everyone at ITV was really pleased. The show had real warmth and was great fun.
“Stephen has lots of other ITV projects coming up.”
‘Go For It’ – which invited members of the public to share their party tricks in a bid to earn £1,000 – was on the air between August and November last year, attracting an average TV audience of 2.7 million people.
Last year, Stephen – who also presents ‘Catchphrase’ and has featured on ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ – admitted to being kicked in the face when a stunt went wrong on ‘Go For It’.
The 39-year-old TV presenter was left with a bruised cheek after a contestant attempted to kick a rugby ball off his head but missed and ended up hitting Stephen just below the eye instead.
He shared: “We had this girl on – she’s a karate expert and she kicked 30 American footballs off 30 footballers’ heads.
“I didn’t believe she’d do it and made the mistake of saying to the crew that I’d let her kick a ball off my head if she did.
“When she won, I had to put a helmet on and she actually kicked my face. It really hurt. The whole right-hand side was all red, because she kicked so hard and fast.”

Louis Smith banned from skiing

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Smith will be banned from skiing for three years from next month.
The 27-year-old gymnast is currently in with a shot of walking away with the trophy in this weekend’s final of ‘The Jump’ but he has admitted, even if he does win the series, he won’t be allowed near the slopes until after the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Speaking to The Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “I can’t go on skiing holidays while I’m in training. I have the show finishing on March 12, I fly back on the 13th and the 14th I’m back in the gym. So straight back into it, no time to waste.
“The next time I can ski will probably be after the 2020 Games. I will miss skiing but it’s not the first time I’ve had to sacrifice stuff.”
The handsome sportsman will go up against Amy Willerton, Emma Parker Bowles, Jason Robinson, Kadeena Cox, Spencer Matthews and the now-reinstated Lydia Bright, following the shock exit of Gareth Thomas, in Sunday’s (12.03.17) final.
And, although he’s convinced he’ll probably be crowned king of the slopes, he believes his biggest rival is reality TV star Spencer because he’s got the mentality of an athlete.
He explained: “I don’t want to give him a big head, but I said to him: ‘If you had dedicated yourself at a young age to a sport, I have no doubt [you] would have been an Olympian. The way he takes things on and understands his body and what he needs to do to improve his technique; like me he learns very quickly, and so I said to him: ‘You could have been a very successful sportsman’.”
‘The Jump’ will conclude at 8.30pm on Sunday on Channel 4.

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to return to Dancing on Ice?

OHMYGOSSIP — Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are in “talks” about returning to ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The popular ice skating show is set to make a sensational return to ITV this year – three years after it left television screens – but the channel’s boss Kevin Lygo is adamant he’ll only bring it back if the legendary figure skaters agree to reprise their coaching roles.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Jayne and Chris were a huge part of ‘Dancing On Ice’s original success – it wouldn’t be the same without them.”
The pair – who famously performed their Bolero routine, which they won the gold medal for at the Olympics in 1983, at the end of every series from 2006 until 2014 – appeared on the show alongside coach Karen Barber to help train the aspiring skaters and offer comments and advice after every live show following the judges’ scores.
Kevin is desperate to bring back the dangerous show, which saw celebrities learn how to figure skate with the help of professionals, this year because he feels bosses at the time had made a huge “mistake” by axing it three years ago.
A source said recently: “Kevin always thought ITV axing ‘Dancing on Ice’ was a mistake so now the idea of bringing it back is being looked at.
“It was a smash hit, and even at its worst was still pulling in more than some of the shows currently on telly – particularly in the Sunday night slot.
“It’s very early days and nothing has been commissioned just yet but it’s definitely on the to-do list. A Sunday night slot would make a lot of sense.”
At the peak of its popularity, ‘Dancing on Ice’ – which was originally hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – attracted 13 million viewers.
But its audience dwindled over time and it was scrapped altogether in 2014.

Emma Watson says singing lessons have helped her acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson’s singing lessons for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ have helped her general acting.
The 26-year-old actress plays the role of Belle in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of the 1991 animated classic and for the part she has to show off her vocals on numbers such as the opening tune ‘Belle’.
In order to bring out the best in her voice, Watson took singing lessons and has revealed why she’s kept having them – even though the film is finished and is set to hit cinemas on March 17.
In an interview with the Daily Mail newspaper, Watson said: “I’ve found it actually really helps my acting, and my speaking voice. It’s great for my breathing and a discipline that I really like.”
Watson – shot to fame as Hermione Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise – had to show off her singing voice to director Bill Condon to get the part, but she only agreed to do it if he got her a draft of the script so she could ensure her character Belle was imbued with a sense of “adventure, wanderlust and heroism” in keeping with her feminist beliefs.
Speaking about her audition, she recalled: “I had three hours in a recording studio. It was really raw but Bill was pleased. And Disney was pleased.”
But Watson – who stars in the fantasy film with Dan Stevens and Luke Evans, who play the Beast and Gaston respectively – still found the audition process nerve-wracking as it has been years since she last had to sing.
She shared: “I hadn’t sung since I was about 12. This was something I’d always wanted to do, but I thought, ‘is my voice still there?’ I just hadn’t used it, but it was a very pleasant surprise to find it was still there. I just had to kind of unearth it!”
Watson declared that Belle is “one of my absolutely favorite Disney characters” and she was delighted to land the part in the story – which is based on French author Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont’s 1740 fairy tale ‘La Belle et la Bete’
She said: “She’s book smart, emotional, sweet and romantic. It’s not like she’s cut off from that part of herself because she has a brain. I think Belle is one of those characters who really turns the feminist, man-hating thing on its head.
“It’s not that she doesn’t want to get married because she hates men. She doesn’t want to get married because she wants to explore the world; and she wants to have adventures; and wants her independence. So she wants to be with someone who will enable and empower her, as opposed diminish her. She wants it on her own terms.”
