David Tennant was 'grumpy old man' on Broadchurch

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant turned into a “grumpy old man” when he was shooting ‘Broadchurch’.
The nation may be preparing itself for mourning when the third installment – the final series to ever hit screens – comes to an end next month but the 45-year-old actor, who portrays DI Alec Hardy in the crime drama, is glad it’s almost over because he was sick of having to keep the storylines and scripts under lock and key for most of the year.
Speaking on ‘Top Gear’ on Sunday (12.03.17), he explained: “This is it. I think we should do three and leave them wanting more.
“It’s always been the way. Anything that’s a thriller has elements you want to hold back. Being on the show gets really tiresome because everything is sent with a password. One script has one password, another has another password. I just can’t keep up. I end up being a grumpy old man saying ‘just send me some paper!'”
However, not everyone is looking forward to seeing the back of the drama as the show’s creator Chris Chibnall keeps having second thoughts about the ending.
He said recently: “Once I step away from the computer, I hope I’ve given everything to it – like a footballer leaving everything on the pitch. The emotion goes into the show. Any success is not in our hands, it’s in the hands of the audience – they decide what they want to talk about. It’s very emotional. It’s hard to say goodbye. I’ve asked myself, ‘Why am I walking away from the two best actors in the country?’ ”
But the 47-year-old writer had already decided that the show would only last three series when he signed on to the project but he wanted to make sure that it involved multiple storylines and be jam packed with shocking twists and lots of surprises.
He explained his planning process: “I have four giant whiteboards and a brilliant script editor. We storyline everything and then start with the characters… When you plot an hour-long episode, you have to do it very tightly in four acts around the ad breaks.”

Clive Owen is desperate to star in a comedy film

OHMYGOSSIP — Clive Owen is desperate to star in a comedy film.
The 52-year-old actor – who is known for playing the lead role as the Roman cavalry officer Arthur in ‘King Arthur’ – is eager to move away from action movies to appear in a “really good” humorous movie, which has his audience in hysterics.
Speaking about his future career plans, the dark-haired hunk said: “I’d like to do a really good comedy.”
Although the ‘Children Of Men’ star has been approached to star in the genre of films, he has declined them because he did not find the projects were “particularly funny”.
He continued: “The odd scripts do come my way but I’ve not found any of them particularly funny – and that’s obviously a problem when it comes to comedy. I like really blatant obvious laughs. So it would have to be something like that. Basically, I need to be in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, that’s the bottom line here.”
And the Coventry-born star believes the key to a successful movie is the director, and he has claimed a “good script” can make a terrible production if the filmmaker leading the project is “bad”.
He said: “To believe the story. I have to empathise with the character to understand the decisions they make. Obviously the director is an important consideration too. A bad director with a good script is still a bad movie.”
Meanwhile, Clive has praised the film industry for enabling him to acquire more life skills.
He told Metro newspaper: “Well that’s the great thing about acting, you learn so many different skills along the way. When I was in ‘Croupier’ they sent me to croupier school; when I was in ‘King Arthur’ I learnt to ride a horse like a pro. Even with [hospital drama] ‘The Knick’ [Steven] Soderbergh brought in a medical historian and we had to learn all of these complicated operations from scratch. As an actor, you’re continuously walking into these completely different worlds, and you have to adapt.”

X Factor bosses to change show's format?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ bosses reportedly want to “shake up” the show’s format.
Bosses of the popular ITV singing competition – headed by music mogul Simon Cowell – are reportedly looking to make big changes to the way the show is formatted, as they are thinking of emulating the success of sister show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ (BGT) by having a whole week of live finals.
A source said: “‘The X Factor’ executives feel it needs a shake-up with big changes to the format. They have been discussing having just a few weeks of live shows — so people get to know the singers — and then one big finals week. They think viewers would prefer one week of great TV, with star performers. ‘BGT’ is a huge success, so they could take inspiration from worse places.”
If the show did decide to copy the format of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – which was also created by 57-year-old Simon – the insider believes it would greatly help the judges, especially Sharon Osbourne who last year found herself constantly flying between her home in Los Angeles and the filming location in London.
The source continued to The Sun newspaper: “If the live shows were focused on one week it would be easier to fit into schedules for the judges. Sharon had to commute from the States every week for months. Cutting down the live shows is just one of a series of scheduling options, but the move wouldn’t affect the total number of hours of the series.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the ‘X Factor’ said “no decisions” have yet been made about the new series – which will hit screens in the autumn – as talks are still “ongoing”.
They told the publication: “No decisions have been made about the new series. Discussions are ongoing and details will be announced in due course.”

Amy Childs has toothache

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs’ pregnancy has been giving her toothache.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star is set to give birth to her first child next month and, although she’s had a relatively easy eight months so far, she’s been battling with excruciating pain her gnashers, which her dentist thinks is related to her baby.
Writing in her column for new! magazine, she said: “I’m 32 weeks now and can’t believe I only have a few weeks left before I give birth – my bump is getting massive. I’m starting to fill out more in my face and my legs feels so heavy.
“I had to go to the dentist last week as I’ve been getting such bad pain in my teeth. They’ve been hurting and bleeding, too. The dentist said it’s totally normal during pregnancy and that I’ll be back to normal once the baby is here. I’ve been in a panic thought – I don’t want my teeth to fall out. Apparently, they won’t.”
And as her due date creeps closer, the 26-year-old beauty has been having reflexology in a bid to relax her before the baby arrives and to prepare her for the labour.
She explained: “I’m loving reflexology. It’s soooo relaxing – I wish I’d done it sooner but I thought you couldn’t have it while you were pregnant. It’s all so clever. The lady picked up on my back pain and told me the sex of my baby. She was right! I’m going back this week, then I’m going to have it weekly until the birth. Apparently, she ca help get my body ready for the labour just by massaging my feet. I’d recommend it to any pregnant woman but check with the practitioner as most won’t do it before 12 weeks.”

Jaime King to star in Escape Plan 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Jaime King is set to star in ‘Escape Plan 2’.
The 37-year-old actress has signed up to take on the role of Abigail Ross – who was originally played by Amy Ryan – in the prison-break action movie, which is the sequel to 2013’s ‘Escape Plan’.
Also revealed in the same casting announcement was 41-year-old rapper 50 Cent – real name Curtis Jackson – who will be joining the cast to reprise his role as Hush from the first movie.
King and Jackson join returning cast member and Hollywood heavyweight Sylvester Stallone, who played Ray Breslin in the original prison thriller.
Also confirmed to be appearing in the sequel is ex-MMA fighter Dave Bautista, who is known for his appearance as Drax in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and the upcoming ensemble movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
‘Escape Plan 2’ is being directed by Steven C. Miller, using a script written by Miles Chapman, who also penned the first instalment.
Plot details for the sequel are remaining under wraps, and little else is known about the characters, or how it will tie into the original movie.
‘Escape Plan’ followed the story of Stallone’s Ray Breslin – a structural engineer who is incarcerated in the world’s most secret and secure prison – and his attempt to escape his imprisonment with the help of fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
As of yet, it is unknown whether Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role.
Randall Emmett, George Furla, Mark Canton, Zack Schiller and Robbie Brenner are returning to produce having previously worked on ‘Escape Plan’.
Ted Fox, Mark Stewart, Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb will executive produce along with the Fyzz Facility’s Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones.

Dame Joan Collins wants more films for older viewers

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins wants more films to be made for older viewers.
The 83-year-old actress doesn’t feel there are enough movies out there made for older men and women.
Speaking of her movie ‘The Time Of Their Lives’, she told London’s Evening Standard newspaper: “This is a role that would be great to have at any stage in your career. I just don’t think there are any roles for women over the age of about 40 anymore.
“Hopefully, people will see this movie and see that there is this audience. Let’s face it, there are three million people in this country over the age of 65, and a lot of them want to go to the movies. And they don’t necessarily like guns and blood and gore, and creatures from outer space.”
Meanwhile, Joan is hopeful people will still like her film – which also stars Pauline Collins – despite it not having any “blood, sex or violence”.
She said: “I hope people love it because it hasn’t got blood, sex, violence and guns and gore and swearing, however, I do use the F-word twice and the S-word once.”
And the former ‘Dynasty’ star claims the secret to looking fabulous at her age is living life to the full.
She added: “Maintenance, keeping out of the sun, eating good food, very positive attitude towards life. When life gives you lemons, which in my case it has a lot, then you have to make lemonade and I think I squeezed the most out of life and living life to the full is also a gift.”

will.i.am picks his top three The Voice acts

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Jones, Michelle John, and Tanya Lacey have made it through to the next round of ‘The Voice’.
Walsall-born call centre worker Jason wowed audiences with his rendition of Ariana Grande’s ‘Into You’ during the live knock outs on Saturday (11.03.17), joining Michelle – who performed a powerful cover of Bonnie Raitt’s ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ – in the two acts saved by the public who will join will.i.am’s top three.
It was then down to the 41-year-old rapper to pick his final act, out of his remaining performers Hayley Eccles, Clara Hurtado, Lia White and Tanya Lacey.
The judge eventually chose 31-year-old Tanya – who was originally on Gavin Rossdale’s team but was stolen by the Black Eyed Peas musician during the last round of the competition – after a painstaking process which left host Emma Willis panicked as she urged him for an answer.
He said on the show: “Everyone on that stage really did an amazing job by singing their heart and souls out and being individuals and taking songs people are familiar with and making them their own.
“Who I pick doesn’t mean that the folks that go home we don’t figure out how we work together. For the show and who I think will be great for the final and nothing about how I think you’ll move forward.”
After a long pause, the ‘Scream & Shout’ hitmaker then tried to make his fellow judge Jennifer Hudson pick for him, only to pushed by Emma for an answer.
Will then named Tanya as his third and final act, after performing a rendition of ‘Changing’ by Sigma and Paloma Faith.
Jason, Michelle, and Tanya will join Sir Tom Jones’ acts Craig Ward, Into The Ark, and Nadine McGhee, and Jennifer’s Jamie Miller, Mo Adeniran, and Jack Bruley.
Gavin Rossdale’s six acts Truly Ford, Max Vickers, Craig Carter, Sarah Morgan, Keziah Rodell, and Diamond – who he stole from Jennifer – will battle it out for a place in his top three on Sunday (12.03.17)

Sir Bruce Forsyth 'doing great' after hospitalisation

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Bruce Forsyth is “doing great” after being hospitalised with a chest infection.
The 89-year-old television presenter spent five nights in the ICU at St Peter’s hospital in Surrey earlier this month after he was struck down with a severe chest infection, and after being discharged last week, his daughter Julie has said he’s on the mend.
Speaking to the Sunday People newspaper, she said: “I have been to see him and he’s doing great. He is getting over a chest infection so it’s a bit difficult, but he’s doing good.”
The news comes after the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host was accompanied by medics as he made his way home last week, so that he could continue to recover where he is “comfortable”.
A source said at the time: “Bruce is feeling much better but is still far from 100 per cent, so doctors decided to take precautions.
“Their view was that the more support he had on hand for the transition, the better.
“Now Bruce is at home, he can relax completely and concentrate on getting better, which is of course, what everyone wants him to do.
“He won’t be up and about for a while, but he is happy the doctors have allowed him to be at home – where he is comfortable.
“Everyone is keeping an eye on him, these illnesses are more troubling at a certain age but he has been through worse.”
Bruce – who underwent keyhole surgery in 2015 after suffering two life-threatening aneurysms – is being nursed back to health by his wife Wilnelia.
An insider said: “Wilnelia was by his bedside virtually the entire time, and has been amazing. He remains in great spirits.”

Rylan Clark-Neal wants to 'steal' Emma Willis' baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark-Neal wants to “steal” Emma Willis’ baby daughter.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother: Bit on the Side’ host has joked he’s not allowed to babysit his friend’s children Isabelle, seven, Ace, five, and 10-month-old Trixie, whom she has with her husband Matt Willis, because she knows he wouldn’t want to give them back.
Asked if he’s babysat yet, Rylan said: “No because she knows I’ll steal them. It’s not an actual joke. Her new baby Trixie is gorgeous. I will rob her! I’m not allowed near them.”
The 28-year-old presenter married his partner Dan Neal in November 2015 and, although they’re not planning it yet, they would like to adopt a child in the future.
He said: “I’d love kids. I’ve got a 17 year old already as Dan’s got a son, Cameron, so I bypassed the baby stage with him. But yeah I would love to have kids.
“We’re taking things as we come. We both have things that we need to do. Right now might not be the right time, but I’d really like to have ids at some point in the future.”
The pair wish they could see a lot more of each other because they’re both busy with their individual careers but they try to make it work the best they can.
He told NOW magazine: “We’re both very busy but we have rules. I make sure that whether I’m working in Liverpool, Manchester or London, I come home every night. I don’t stay in hotels. Of course it would be nice to spend more time together but we’re not different to other couples, really. Most people have to work all day and only get to see a bit of each other in the evening. We’re good, we’re really good.”

Sir Ridley Scott wants Gladiator sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ridley Scott has teased a possible ‘Gladiator’ sequel.
The 79-year-old director helmed the critically acclaimed 2000 historical drama movie – which starred Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius – and has revealed he’s figured out a way of creating a sequel, despite the fact that Maximus dies at the end of the original movie.
He said: “I know how to bring him back. I was having this talk with the studio — ‘but he’s dead.’ But there is a way of bringing him back.”
Ridley isn’t convinced fixing the plot holes will work, however, as he admits 52-year-old Russel has “changed a little bit” in the 17 years since the first movie.
He added to Entertainment Weekly magazine: “Whether it will happen I don’t know. ‘Gladiator’ was 2000, so Russell’s changed a little bit. He’s doing something right now but I’m trying to get him back down here.”
The news comes after Russell reportedly commissioned musician Nick Cave to write a sequel script which had Maximus travelling through the afterlife in 2009, but it is unknown whether Ridley’s idea is linked to this in any way.
The original ‘Gladiator’ movie also featured talent from the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen, and Oliver Reed, who filmed his role in the project prior to his death in 1999.
Oliver was posthumously nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2001 Oscars for his performance.
At the same ceremony, ‘Gladiator’ took home five gongs in total for Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Russel Crowe, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, and Best Sound Mixing.
Ridley himself received a nomination for Best Director, but lost out to Steven Soderbergh for ‘Traffic’.

Samuel L. Jackson's bug experience

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson was “uncomfortable” on the set of ‘Kong: Skull Island’ but feels like it informed his performance.
The 68-year-old actor – who stars as United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard in the adventure film – wasn’t too pleased with the amount of bugs he encountered whilst filming around Hawaii, Australia and Vietnam.
He said: “We were in different locations; we shot in Hawaii, Australia and Vietnam so we explored all kinds of jungle. We got introduced to lots of different kinds of bugs that we didn’t appreciate.
“They pretty much kept us as uncomfortable as they could. We stayed hot, we stayed muggy and we stayed buggy but the locations were beautiful, especially Vietnam. Vietnam was almost otherworldly.”
And Samuel praised his fellow cast members – which includes Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson – and the CGI team who worked on creating Kong for creating some “pretty out of your seat moments”.
He added: “We’ve got a great cast of people … The human element was great. So for us, we always knew we could pull off our jobs; it was about them being able to create these believable and fantastic things that are attacking us whilst we’re out there. There’s some pretty out of your seat moments in it.”
Meanwhile, Jackson previously opened up about seeing a rainbow every day whilst filming in Hawaii.
He said: “Some scenes you’d look at it and go, ‘ah that was a beautiful place’ and then some scenes you’d go, ‘oh it was so miserable that day.’ … But every day in Hawaii we had rainbow which was fine.”
Whilst his co-star Larson added: “Over the course of six months we dealt with every type of weather – so there’s like one scene every time I look at , I’m like, ‘That was 120 degrees’ I remember we were all dying and other scenes I remember it hailing and being freezing cold but it all looks the same scene.”

Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec to postpone honeymoon for Strictly Come Dancing?

OHMYGOSSIP — Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara will delay their honeymoon for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The professional dancers are planning to tie the knot this summer, but know they’ll have to put plans for a post-wedding holiday on hold if they’re invited back to the show because of the rehearsal schedule.
Janette explained:” Rehearsals start in early August, so if we do get invited back, the honeymoon will have to be put on hold.”
But the couple, who met in 2010 and got engaged in 2015, won’t mind if that is the case.
Aljaz said: “Doing ‘Strictly’ together is the best honeymoon you could wish for.”
And the couple hope their nuptials will turn into a spectacular display on the dancefloor.
Janette said: “I have my dress and it’s going to be beautiful. I don’t think I’m a bridezilla though.
“For me, the day is more about having people that we love there. I’m really not that fussy.
“We’re hoping that all the ‘Strictly’ gang will be there – we’re all so close. It’s definitely going to be fun on the dancefloor.”
Aljaz added: “I’m confident people will dance at our wedding. On tour, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ was our theme song so we’re definitely going to dance to that.”
But the dancers haven’t yet decided on what their first dance as man and wife will be yet.
Aljaz told HELLO! magazine: “We haven’t decided what the first dance will be yet, but I think it will be something really simple, pretty and intimate.
“It’s just going to be a lovely day dedicated to celebrating our love.”

Barbara Crampton's interesting roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbara Crampton’s recent roles are “more interesting than ever before”.
The 58-year-old actress made her name starring in a series of 80s horror flicks including ‘Re-Animator’, ‘Chopping Mall’ and ‘From Beyond’ before deciding to take a “self-imposed retirement” after finding work had dried up.
However, she is now back working again, having appeared in a number of modern horror movies including ‘You’re Next’, ‘We Are Still Here’ and ‘Sun Choke’.
She said: “I think the kind of roles I’m getting are probably, to me collectively, more interesting than I’ve ever had before. Of course, when I was younger I loved the parts I played, especially in ‘Re-Animator’ and to a larger degree ‘From Beyond’.
“But as I’ve matured, the roles are a bit more layered and representative of where I am today as an older person with more responsibilities, perspective and hopefully not too may regrets. I’ve been lucky to tackle big issues in films like ‘We Are Still Here’ and ‘Sun Choke’ that really speak to me on a very human level.”
And Barbara has expressed her disappointment that women don’t appear as much in “common and often used movie themes” like films about superheros.
She told Collider.com: “There was a period in my late 30s where work slowed down for me, as it does for a lot of women. You’re no longer the young, cute thing anymore and maybe you’re not quite old enough to play [what others think of] in terms of women in charge. I guess in society there’s no place for women in their older thirties. We’re supposed to go sit on a shelf at some point … and wait. Maybe for others, they found continuing work at that age. I didn’t.
“But being an older person now, I’m finding that people are calling me to play various things. Variations on the theme of mother, caretaker, and in some cases, doctors, heads of organisations and things like that. For some people, I’m finally old enough to play those roles. We see men playing them when they’re a little bit younger, and also in roles that call for some form of conflict and violence, either generating it or trying to curtail it.
“Women don’t seem to be a big part of those common and often used movie themes. Superhero roles seem to be popular. I’d like to see more female superheroes. How about a grandmother superhero? I’d pay good money to see that.”

Kristen Stewart's movie fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart was “really scared” of ‘Personal Shopper’.
The 26-year-old actress plays Maureen, an American in Paris trying to make contact with her recently-deceased twin brother, in her latest movie and though she herself has experienced sleepless nights in the past, she admits she has never had it as tough as her character.
Kristen – who is alone in many scenes in the movie – said: “I was really scared of this movie.
“[Maureen] is just the most lonely person I’ve ever played. I’ve had some spiral periods where the unanswerable questions keep you up at night to a vaguely debilitating degree, but nothing like this girl.”
Despite the gruelling schedule of making the film, Kristen enjoyed the experience because director Olivier Assayas allowed her a lot of freedom and valued her input on the production.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “I’m used to directors really knowing what they want to say and making sure those concepts are displayed by the actors. In this case, all Olivier wants to do is ask you questions and see you flop around and figure them out. It’s really cool.”
And the filmmaker – who previously worked with the actress on ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’ – credits his leading lady for making the finished work what it is.
He said: “This film in many ways belongs to Kristen. I was directing it from the outside, but she was directing it from within.”
The blonde beauty recently moved into directing, with a music video and short film ‘Come Swim’ to her name, and she loves the feeling of having an entire project of her own.
She said: “It’s so amazing to have something that exists because you protected it and invested in it all the way to the end.
“I don’t think there’s a huge separation from acting and directing for me.
“I come at it with the same intention. I’m pretty obsessed with the process of how things are put together.”

Jamelia won't be back on Loose Women

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamelia doesn’t think she’ll be back on ‘Loose Women’.
The ‘Superstar’ singer hasn’t been “formally sacked” by the daytime show but it was reported in October she had been quietly dropped from the panel over her controversial comments about plus-sized clothing, and she admits she hasn’t been invited back and doesn’t believe she is “part of the narrative” of the programme.
She said: “I haven’t been formally sacked by Loose Women, as other people have been in the past, so I technically still have a job with them.
“But I haven’t been on the show since those reports, so people will make of it what they will.
“The show is going in a different direction at the moment and I don’t seem to be a part of that narrative.
“I am realistic, I doubt I’ll be going back.”
However, the 36-year-old singer – who has daughters Teja, 16, and Tiani, 11, from past relationships – insists she isn’t too upset because she’s launching her own YouTube venture, JameliaDotCom.
She told the Birmingham Mail newspaper: “But it’s OK, as I’m very excited about launching my own YouTube channel.
“I absolutely love it, I’m really excited about it.
“In the mainstream media there are not places for everyone, so I wanted to create a sort of club for people – for moms, especially those of teenagers, and for those interested in black grooming.
“I want to share advice, tips and tricks. It’s a lifestyle channel that includes everything from style and health and beauty to cooking and parenting.
“My two daughters are heavily involved in the production too.”
And Jamelia is taking more control of her career after parting ways with her management company, though she admits she needs to enlist more help as it is a bigger “challenge” than she realised.
She said: “I recently left my management so I’m going through a bit of a transition. I’m taking control of what I’m doing, though it is a big challenge! It’s hard work so I think I will have to get a new manager.
“There wasn’t a big row, it’s just I have been with my management for 15 years. They’ve been fantastic but sometimes when you’re in a long relationship it gets a bit boring and monotonous.
“It was time to move on.”

Emma Watson praises Josh Gad

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson thinks Josh Gad’s “subtle” performance in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is “fantastic”.
The 26-year-old actress – who plays Belle in the new live-action version of the fairytale – has heaped praise on her co-star for his portrayal of LeFou, Disney’s first openly gay character, and the way he has made it so it isn’t entirely clear whether or not he has a crush on his friend Gaston [Luke Evans].
Speaking in a SiriusXM Town Hall interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Anthony Breznican, she said: “I think that’s what’s so fantastic about Josh’s performance is that it’s so subtle.
“It’s always like, ‘Does he idolise Gaston? Is he in love with Gaston? What’s the relationship there?’
“I think it’s incredibly subtle, to be perfectly honest. I don’t want people going into this movie thinking there’s a huge narrative there.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Emma admitted she was frustrated about reports that claimed she had turned down Emma Stone’s Oscar-winning role in ‘La La Land’, insisting she had been committed to ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for such a long time, it would have been impossible for her to appear in the Hollywood musical too.
She said: “It’s one of these frustrating things where names get attached to projects very early on as a way to kind of build anticipation or excitement for something that’s coming before anything is actually agreed or set in stone.
“But it was one of those situations where I had been committed to Beauty and the Beast at that point for…years. And I had to be where I had to be, and scheduling conflict wise it just didn’t work out.”
Director Bill Condon previously admitted ‘Beauty and the Beast’ features a “nice gay moment”, and also praised Josh for his “subtle” performance.
He said: “LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realising that he has these feelings. And Josh makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that’s what has its payoff at the end, which I don’t want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”
