Lily Cole expected career prejudice

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Cole knew there would be “prejudice” when she moved into acting.
The former model has always wanted to be an actress but because of her “accidental” success in the fashion industry, she knew there’d be people unwilling to take a chance on her, though she also appreciates having a famous name has opened some doors for her.
She said:” It’s like a double-edged sword.
“I think the success I’ve had in fashion helped me get work in acting.
“I’ve wanted to be an actor since I was six, so that was always my first desire.
“Then by accidentally getting involved in modelling in fashion, I think in many ways that opened the doors for me to act and made it easier for me to get into that world.
At the same time, I was totally aware that there is a prejudice against models who want to act.”
And though she hasn’t been on the catwalk for years, the 29-year-old beauty still finds it hard to shake off her ‘model’ tag.
She added: “I stopped modelling years ago and I overheard someone this morning walk by and go, ‘Oh, it’s that model.’
“That lingers for a long time.
“I reckon one day people will stop referring to me as a model and I’ll probably miss it. I’ll be like, damn it.”
The ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ star won’t do anything to deter her 18-month-old daughter Wylde – who she has with partner Kwarme Ferreira – from following in her footsteps, but won’t encourage it either.
She said in a recent interview: “I’d definitely encourage children to watch the theatre, but no, I wouldn’t encourage her to do anything.
“I’d just give her the freedom o do whatever she wants.
“If she did want to go into acting, I would probably give her as much advice as I could about why I love her and why it’s great, what the challenges are and why I think it sucks sometimes, and let her make an informed decision.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer released

OHMYGOSSIP — Fans got an early look at ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ as the first trailer was released on Friday (14.04.17).
The teaser for the hotly-anticipated movie begins with Rey (Daisy Ridley) looking distressed and disorientated as she takes in her surroundings.
As the camera pans over the treacherous landscape including what appears to be the island where the last scenes of the previous movie took place, an unknown voice – thought to be that of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) – can be heard saying: “Breathe. Just breathe. Now reach out…”
It then switches to show Rey pressing her fingertips on the ground, causing pebbles to rise around her, which is thought to be her using The Force.
Asked what she can see, she replies: “Light. Darkness. The balance is so much bigger.”
The trailer – which also features appearances from Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Finn (John Boyega) and what appears to be the silhouette of the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa – ends with Luke standing next to a rock.
He says: “I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
The trailer – which was released to coincide with the Star Wars Celebration event in Orlando, Florida – was well received by the movie’s fans, who rushed to social media to share their excitement.
One wrote: “Watched the trailer for The Last Jedi about 9 times now and I’m not done yet (sic)”
Whilst another added: “I’ve replayed The Last Jedi trailer over 20 times, I need 10 advil and tissues (sic)”
And a third shared: “No im not… I’m not crying over the The Last Jedi poster and trailer. Pshh.. only losers would cry over Star Wars… ha ha ha ha (sic)”
Meanwhile, director Rian Johnson previously teased that the new ‘Star Wars’ movie would focus on Rey learning and beginning to understand her connection to The Force.
He explained: “Part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realisation that she has this power and this gift. She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential. I don’t want to skip ahead two years. I want to see the very next moment of what happens.”
‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is slated for release on December 15, 2017.

Holly Willoughby driven 'mad' by pregnancy rumours

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby is driven “mad” by pregnancy rumours.
The 36-year-old television presenter – who has Harry, seven, Belle, six, and Chester, two, with her husband Daniel Baldwin – is growing increasingly frustrated by speculation she is pregnant, according to her ‘This Morning’ co-host Phillip Schofield.
Phillip told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The minute she’s off poorly everyone says she’s pregnant. If we do an item with drinks she doesn’t like and she doesn’t have one, it’s ‘ooh she must be pregnant’. It drives her mad.”
Holly had to take a couple of days away from the show earlier this month after falling ill.
Speaking on the show at the time, Phillip said: “Holly is not well. There is a bug in the Willoughby-Baldwin household, and Belle [her daughter] is ill again. So she’s not well and also having to cope with poorly children as well.”
Meanwhile, Holly previously revealed she is keen to expand her brood because she is addicted to giving birth.
She said: “You only hear one side of the story and that’s not very helpful, and lots of women really enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong, there is pain, but it is a pain in a different way.
“I love giving birth weirdly – although actually I shouldn’t say that it’s weird. I don’t want that area of my life to be over because it makes me sad to think I’d not be be doing it again. I love being pregnant and I love having babies.”
And the blonde beauty decided to release a self-help book about parenthood to share advice with other mums and dads based on her own experiences as a mother.
She previously explained: “When I had my first, Harry, I couldn’t believe there were so many things I wasn’t expecting. I kept thinking, ‘Why has no one told me about this? Why is this a massive secret?’ I thought then that one day I’d write a book called ‘It Worked For Me’ and put down all those things I’ve stumbled across or realised.
“By the time I had my third child I felt like I had a really good spectrum of different children and different experiences and it felt like it was time to write it all down.”

Chloe Ferry's family rift

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Ferry is “not really bothered” if she doesn’t see her dad again.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star says she doesn’t want to see her father again after he left her mother and never offered the family any support or money.
She told The Sun Online: “Probably the hardest thing I have ever had to go through was when my mum and dad was breaking up. But I was very young. I was six or something. It was quite a hard situation. I know my dad, but I don’t really speak to him. I don’t really like him.
“I don’t care too much about him because my mam did everything for us. He never gave us money to help my mum out. I always treat my mum to everything she wants. I pay for her holiday, her car, her house. I don’t want speak to my dad any anymore. I won’t see him again. I’m not really bothered.”
And Chloe previously opened up about her tough childhood, admitting she didn’t have enough money for lunch.
She said: “Before ‘Geordie Shore’, we didn’t have much money. My mum is a single parent … When I went to college I didn’t even have lunch money sometimes because it was so hard to get. She was a single parent so she brought me up all by herself.
“Obviously, I’ve got a bit of money now, but I know now to be wise with my money. I’ll always save it. I’m really clued up with my business because of it. It’s not been an awful background but a bad background to know and I know what I need to do now to make money.”
The 21-year-old reality star also previously revealed she skipped school because she was “embarrassed” that she couldn’t read and write.
She said: “I didn’t really enjoy school. I had a bit of a bad time there because I found it very hard to read and write. So I would skive school a lot.
“I went to high school, I had to do an extra year to do my GCSEs. But I didn’t like it there. I felt a bit embarrassed that I was [behind] at school. I found it harder to learn than other school kids. I felt awful.”

David Walliams 'annoyed' at Simon Cowell

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams was “annoyed” Simon Cowell wouldn’t let David’s mother replace him on the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ panel.
The 45-year-old comedian was thrilled that his mother Kathleen was such a hit with viewers when she filmed some segments for the ITV talent show but quipped he was disappointed when Simon took back his place.
He said: “She got to step in and was very, very popular on the show. And loads of people were saying let’s make her a permanent fixture and get rid of Simon and have my mum on the panel.
“Simon read all that and he made sure he was on time this year, so my mum didn’t get to do it. I was really annoyed because my mum was great with it, she was actually first to buzz people off.”
And David says Simon has been “in a better mood” this year but joked his boss finds it difficult to get to the studios at the right time.
He added: “This year he’s been in a better mood. You’ve never seen him on this show [Lorraine] because he doesn’t get up until 4.00pm in the afternoon. It’s hard to make a show when you’re meant to start filming at 1.00pm.”
And David has promised there will be a huge variety of talent on the show and says he is looking for entertainers rather than those who are just talented.
Speaking on Lorraine, he shared: “There’s slightly naughty things but it’s basically family viewing. I like that it’s fun, you can get up and do anything.
“Pretty much everyone out there has a party piece. It doesn’t really matter if you’re not the most talented person, it’s about entertaining. Sometimes I think talented people are boring.”

James Gunn's colour ban

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn “banned” the colour purple from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’.
The 46-year-old director wanted the sequel to be very visual but deliberately tried to stay away from particular hues he felt had been used a lot in his original movie in order to give the new film a style of its own.
He explained: “I wanted to make the second movie have a very distinct visual look that was much different than the first movie.
“One of the first things I did was ban the use of the colour purple.
“There’s purple in the movie, but there’s very little purple in the movie. Because purple was by far the dominant colour in the first movie.
“This movie is more about yellow and blue and teal and orange.
“But I also really wanted to up the ante with the pulp elements.
“So we harken back a lot to 1950s/60s pulp novel colours and that look of ‘Flash Gordon’ – both the 1980s version and the earlier comics. Really grabbing onto this pulp feeling an bringing it alive in a bright, big, colourful way was important.”
James deliberately wrote a lot about the colours when planning each scene in the film – which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Kurt Russell – because he felt they would help the audience in their emotional responses.
He explained to SFX magazine: “One of the first things I did was I sat down and gave every scene a colour palette.
“I wrote the story through colours and I would want people to be able to look at the way those colours move and be able to tell what the story is just through seeing those colours.
“A little green, a little orange, a little red – and then we get into some darker colours. It’s just the feelings they elicit.
“So when we go to the Sovereign world at the beginning of the movie, it’s all golds and blues, then we go to pinks and whites in the next location.
“Then we go to all greens for a long time, then we go back and at the end we get into some bigger colours.”

Kevin Hart to star in Night School

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart will star in ‘Night School’.
The 37-year-old comedian and actor will take the lead role in and produce the action-comedy, which is based on a story he wrote about a group of people who must attend adult education classes together in order to prepare for the GED exam.
Tim Story is set to direct the movie, with Kevin, Harry Ratchford, Joey Wells, Matt Kellard and Nick Stoller collaborating on the screenplay.
Meanwhile, Kevin is also starring in the ‘Jumanji’ reboot, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, and director Jake Kasdan has insisted that the new film will pay tribute to the original 1995 movie.
He said: “‘Jumanji’ is the kind of movie that I think people shouldn’t out-and-out remake. To me, a big part of its power is in the unique elements of its original execution. Within that, I think there’s this central idea and mythology that’s mysterious, but powerful, and commands a powerful part of the imagination.
“I was a fan of the original movie, and I felt like this [Jumanji update] really honoured it, and included a lot of the stuff that I loved about the original movie, but did it in a really new way. It really holds up. You go back and watch it – it’s a very unusual and original kid’s movie. It’s unusually scary and magical, in a way that’s different from a lot of other magical kid’s movies.”
‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ is slated for release on December 22, 2017.

ITV planning new talent show hosted by Bradley Walsh

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV are reportedly planning a new talent competition with Bradley Walsh as the host.
Bosses at the broadcaster are reportedly putting together a talent show that will see exceptionally bad singers battle it out against one another as they fight to improve their vocal abilities with the help of vocal coaches and training. The one contestant who improves the most over the course of the programme will then be crowned winner.
The show, which is as yet unnamed, is also reportedly eyeing 56-year-old television presenter Bradley Walsh to front the production.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It has always been the bad auditions that get everyone talking on ‘X Factor’ each year.
“And another thing people love to watch on TV is people undergoing huge transformations — like on Davina McCall’s show ‘This Time Next Year’.
“Now ITV will combine these two things as they launch a new show which sees awful singers transform into superstar performers — or that’s what they’re hoping.
“It’s sure to be a great laugh but also heart-warming to see some amazing transformations.”
And if Bradley does host the show, he’ll know all about what it takes to be a successful musician as his debut LP ‘Chasing Dreams’ managed to outsell the debut solo effort ‘Mind of Mine’ from former One Direction star Zayn Malik last year.
‘The Chase’ presenter has even inked a new deal with Sony Music CMG which could see him release two more records and hit the the road for a UK tour.
An insider said: “Bradley’s album surpassed all expectations and he’s now a key focus for the label in 2017.
“Sony have signed him up for another album and don’t want to waste any time getting it out, as well as putting him on stages around the UK.
“He has proven there is an enormous market for his swing covers and they intend to capitalise on it.
“Discussions have even taken place about a third album at some point too.
“They know what works and he is already picking out songs for the second record and arranging studio time.”
As of the time of writing, no further details are known about the ITV talent competition.

Caroline Flack promises 'lots of skin' on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Caroline Flack has promised “lots of skin” on this year’s ‘Love Island’.
The 37-year-old television presenter is returning as the host of the ITV2 dating reality show, and has taken to Twitter to tease the line up for the new series, which airs later this year, as she promises “lots of tattoos” and “lots of skin” on show amongst the contestants.
She tweeted: “I saw the casting tapes for this years Love Islands peeps yesterday …. LOTS OF TATS… LOTS OF SKIN… LOTS OF LOLS (sic)”
Further details on the forthcoming series are being kept under wraps for now but it’s believed Caroline will make unexpected appearances in the Spanish villa, where the dating hopefuls will be staying, in order to shake up the series by delivering shock announcements and surprise twists that will put pressure on the new relationships.
The brunette beauty will also front the spin-off series, which title is not yet known, as she’s joined by a celebrity panel each week to discuss the show as well as give viewers a first look in to extra gossip from the villa as well as exclusive interviews and clips.
Meanwhile, last year’s winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde were thought to be a success story for the show after they remained together for almost a year, but it was revealed earlier this month that the pair have decided to call time on their romance.
Nathan tweeted about the split recently: “Me and Cara have split, we’ve had the best summer of our lives but it’s been a tough few weeks and wish her the best of luck for the future (sic)”
An insider recently claimed though it was a hard break up, they want to stay close.
The source said: “They’ve both mutually agreed to call it quits. It hasn’t been an easy decision but in the end they decided things would be better apart. They stayed really amicable and will definitely do all they can to be friendly.”
The new series of ‘Love Island’ has yet to have been given an official start date, but in previous years the series has begun in June.

Great British Bake Off to keep theme tune and filming location

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is set to keep its format despite changing broadcasters.
The popular baking competition hit the headlines last year after production company Love Productions moved the programme from its home at the BBC to rival broadcasters Channel 4, and it has now been revealed that despite the move, the show will retain many of its key features.
Sources claim that the theme tune, as well as the filming location of Welford Park in Berkshire, will remain the same so as to keep loyal ‘GBBO’ fans from switching off.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “While Channel 4 are keen to put their own stamp on the show, they are not trying to reinvent the wheel.
“They want to attract new legions of Bake Off fans, but also don’t want to dishearten those loyal viewers who have been watching it for years and are planning to keep doing so despite the change in channel.
“Viewers will get the familiar tent set-up, in the beautiful grounds of Welford Park, and the same theme tune they’ve been hearing since it was first launched in 2010.”
And although the theme tune and filming location are staying the same, loyal fans will still have to make some room for change as Paul Hollywood will be the only returning member of the hosting team.
Previously, Paul appeared as a judge on the show and was joined by Mary Berry, whilst presenting due Mel Geidroyc and Sue Perkins took on hosting duties.
Now, Paul will be joined by Prue Leith, and the show will be hosted by Noel Fielding and Sandy Toksvig.
Paul said recently about his new co-stars: “Prue, obviously shes got this huge professional background and I’ve got nothing but respect for her, I’m really looking forward to it.
“We’ve met and had a chat, there’s something there, she reminds me of my mother-in-law in a fantastic way, and I think we’ll get on great.
“I’m really excited because obviously it’s a big thing, the ‘Bake Off’, and when I heard the names read out, I was really excited.
“I did know about Prue but I didn’t know about the others at all but its perfect, I’m really, really excited.
“At the end of the day, most people were in the dark, it’s kept very quiet for obvious reasons.”
Shooting for the new series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is set to start later this month.

Mario Falcone to propose to girlfriend?

OHMYGOSSIP — Mario Falcone will propose to his girlfriend this year.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is smitten with his girlfriend Becky Miesner – who moved in with him last October after three months of dating – and wants to take the next step in their relationship.
He said: “I’m planning to propose maybe later this year or next…
“I think I knew [she was The One] from the first moment we started going out. It’s just easy. We don’t argue. Becky has her own businesses and works hard and my family love her too.
“I’ve never been with someone who I look forward to seeing all the time. I couldn’t imagine myself without her now.”
But if the couple do tie the knot, Mario – who was previously engaged to ‘TOWIE’ co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh – won’t allow the TV cameras into their wedding.
He said: “The best thing about this relationship is that it’s not in the public eye.
“It’s controlled, which I never had when I was on the show. It’s Becky’s day, not ‘TOWIE’s day.”
And the 29-year-old star is desperate to start a family with the 28-year-old salon owner.
He said: “I love kids. My whole family love Becky. She’s the first girlfriend they’ve really warmed to, so they’re like, ‘Get married, have babies.’
“I’d have them now. I love children and I think I’m in a relationship that’s stable enough and my life now is stable enough to have children. But girls have the dream of the engagement and marriage.”
Becky added to OK! magazine: “I’d like an engagement first. I’m no one that has to be married before kids, but I’d definitely like that commitment.”

Jason Isaacs' mid-scene sleep

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Isaacs accidentally fell asleep mid-scene while shooting ‘Red Dog: True Blue’.
The 53-year-old actor is a “terrible insomniac” who finds it impossible to nap, but was hit hard by jet lag when he flew to Australia to shoot the family comedy.
He said: “I never go for a nap. I wish I could. I’m a terrible insomniac.
“But I have fallen asleep in a scene.
“In fact, on ‘Red Dog’, I had just got to Australia from England, and we had a scene in which I’m watching the original ‘Red Dog’ with the kids.
“There was a long tracking shot, and when they got to the end they thought I was taking a very long, dramatic, pause. And then they all realised I was fast asleep.”
Jason – who has daughters Lilly and Ruby with partner Emma Hewitt – also tries to get mobile phone use incorporated into his scenes because he hates being parted with his device for any length of time.
He said: “I try to make sure my character uses my phone.
“I’m always going, ‘Well, maybe he’d use this phone’ so I can have it there.
“I’m a ‘Words With Friends’ addict and I FaceTime my kids.
“I’m mostly way, so I want to be available whenever they can deign to spare me eight seconds to ask me where something is in the house.”
And the ‘Harry Potter’ star admits he hates shopping for clothes so much, his wardrobe mainly consists of his old costumes.
He told Total Film magazine: “I don’t like to shop for clothes. I only wear things characters have worn before, that they tell me I can take home at the end of a shoot.
“It’s just because I don’t like to shop for clothes. At the end, I go, ‘Can I have those jeans? Because they fit me.’ ”

Adam Thomas won't do reality TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas is adamant he won’t do any more reality TV shows.
The ‘Emmerdale’ hunk came third when he competed on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ late last year but he’s admitted he’s not interested in signing up to any more programmes because he wants to focus on his acting career for the time being.
Speaking to Star magazine, he said: “No. I’m not going to do any more reality shows.”
It was no secret that the 28-year-old actor was terrified of spiders when he took part in the jungle-based show a few months ago and now his two-year-old son Teddy, whom he has with his partner Caroline Daly, keeps teasing him about his creepy phobia.
He explained to the publication: “He recognised me when I was on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. Every time he sees a spider now, he runs after me and chases me and shouts: ‘Spider!’ then we both go screaming. The problem is I’m never really on the TV so he doesn’t say it that much.”
Last year’s series was the first time the camp mates actually got on and, although it’s known that they regularly speak via their Whatsapp group, Adam has joked that he’s no longer friends with his co-star – especially Joel Dommett – because they ignore him.
He teased as he burst into a fit of giggles: “We don’t speak any more. We’ve all fallen out. Joel Dommett doesn’t return my calls.”
Meanwhile, Adam isn’t the only member of his family who is living life in the spotlight as his brothers Ryan and Scott also have a huge following on social media.
But he’s adamant there’s never any competition between the three of them.
He added: “None of us get competitive. I’m just proud of them both.”

Tommy Cannon eyed for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Cannon is reportedly being eyed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 78-year-old comic is most known for being one half of veteran comedy duo Cannon and Ball alongside Bobby Ball, but he’s now reportedly in talks for becoming the oldest contestant ever on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition.
Tommy’s comedy partner Bobby was 68 when he competed in the Christmas Special version of the show in 2012, and last year’s Leslie Joseph was 71 when she took to the dancefloor, but at 78 Tommy would be the oldest contestant in ‘Strictly’ history.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Tommy would be brilliant on the show and it’s quite exciting that he would be the eldest ever to appear.
“There have been no formal discussions yet, but it’s clear that he would be up for it. Everyone remembers him from his glory days – especially the older ‘Strictly’ audience.
“If he did get signed up, it would obviously be on condition of passing a medical like every other celeb to see if they could take the hours of training.”
It wouldn’t be Tommy’s first foray into competitive reality television either, as in 2005 he competed on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, but failed to make a lasting impact as he was the first to be booted from the jungle.
He also appeared alongside Bobby, 73, in a celebrity version of ‘Coach Trip’, where they managed to be crowned runners up behind ‘EastEnders’ stars Derek Rapp and John Altman.
Meanwhile, ‘Gogglebox’ stars Steph and Dom Parker are also reportedly being eyed for the series, as bosses believe they’ll bring “great routines” similar to politician Ed Balls who was a fan favourite last year.
An insider said: “They’re great characters and everyone loves watching them just when they’re sat on their sofa.
“Dom has the potential to provide great routines like Ed did and Steph would be fantastic going up against the judges.”

Patty Jenkins: Wonder Woman action scenes are character driven

OHMYGOSSIP — Patty Jenkins has said the action scenes in ‘Wonder Woman’ are character driven.
The 45-year-old film director is taking up the reins for the upcoming DC Comics standalone movie – which stars Gal Gadot in as the titular superhero – and has said the action sequences all happen for a reason and serve to further Wonder Woman’s story, rather than just providing an “extravaganza” for the audience.
In a video posted to DC Entertainment’s YouTube channel on Thursday (13.04.17), Patty said: “Really, every action sequence is from her point-of-view and for her story, so there was no point in the movie that we ever stepped out and were like, ‘Look at this extravaganza!’ … She witnesses a battle on a beach that rocks her world and changes her understanding of what warfare is. And then she comes to man’s world and she sees a war that everyone says is impenetrable and nothing can be done about it, and she says ‘What am I going to do about it? … It makes it like everything else I’ve ever done, because you’re just saying, ‘Here’s my character, here’s the journey that they’re on, how do I want to experience that and how do you do it?'”
Meanwhile, it seems Wonder Woman’s standalone movie is set to fully flesh out the character, as Zack Snyder, the director behind the upcoming ensemble movie ‘Justice League’, previously said she will be “fully evolved” by the time she joins the likes of Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
He said: “[Humanity] has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her. And in ‘Justice League’, she’s fully evolved into someone who’s embraced mankind, partly through Superman’s sacrifice. She’s like, ‘All right, I’ve got to pick it up.'”

Lisa Kudrow: Mira Sorvino hasn't aged

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Kudrow doesn’t think a ‘Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion’ sequel would work because Mira Sorvino hasn’t aged.
The 53-year-old actress and her 49-year-old co-star were always keen to revisit the cult comedy – which focused on two unsuccessful women returning to meet with their old classmates 10 years after graduation – and even had a plot in mind, but the project was never picked up and Lisa now thinks the moment has passed by.
She said: “We wanted to do it. Mira and I and Robin (Schiff, the writer) – we had a story, we had an idea, but it was never picked up.
“And I don’t know how it would work because Mira looks incredibly – she hasn’t aged. I don’t want to play Romy’s mom.”
Asked what the sequel would have been about, she said “Romy and Michele get married. And then divorced.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Friends’ star admitted she almost gave up acting after being cast as Roz in ‘Frasier’ but replaced after the pilot episode.
She recalled to heat magazine: “That was devastating to me. That was the end of the world. It hit me hard.
“That was when I really questioned my position in this industry.
“At the time, I didn’t see any more opportunities coming my way.
“From these writers, you knew this show was going to run for years and I was never going to get another chance like that.
“And then, I had about two weeks of misery and I pulled myself out of that particular black hole and said to myself, ‘I’m OK, I’m going to keep going and see what happens.’
“I’m not someone who would never climb out of that, so I did, and I pushed through.”
