Tony Hadley joins Benidorm

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Hadley has landed a guest role in ‘Benidorm’.
The 56-year-old Spandau Ballet singer – who competed on the 2015 series of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ – has a cameo part in the popular ITV comedy and the ‘Gold’ hitmaker has already filmed his scenes for the next Instalment at the famous Sol Pelicanos Hotel.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “He has always been a massive fan and has been eyeing up a spot on the show for ages.
“After years of toing and froing with producers, he’s finally bagged a guest role and it’s going to be absolutely hilarious and full of surprises.
Tony appeals to women of a certain age as he was a real heart-throb back in the day.”
The forthcoming series, which is expected to air next year, will also feature the Chuckle Brothers.
The comedy duo of Barry and Paul Chuckle were spotted filming scenes in the sunny Spanish town with John Challis for the 10th series last month.
Paul was photographed sitting opposite John on a balcony at a bar whilst Barry walked towards the table.
And Paul had taken to social media to share a picture with John on set.
He captioned it: “Me n #boycie … Who looks the happiest @BeingBoycie ? (sic)”
It is not known if the brothers were just filming a cameo for the show or if they will be making an extended appearance.
It comes after it was announced that legendary comedy duo Gareth Hale and Norman Pace would be joining ‘Benidorm’ as undercover detectives investigating Lesley (Tim Healy).
In Series 10, Shane Richie will also return for four episodes as entertainer Sammy Valentino whilst Challis’ character Monty Staines will become a series regular.
Show creator, writer and executive producer Derren Litten said: “When I wrote the first script of ‘Benidorm’ I had no idea it would change my life so dramatically over the next 10 years.
“As I put the finishing touches to the 74th episode I am so grateful to our fans and to ITV for giving ‘Benidorm’ the best possible home we could hope for. Here’s to the next 10 years!”
And Saskia Schuster, ITV’s Comedy Commissioner, added: “‘Benidorm’ is very much part of the ITV family with viewers taking these wonderful characters to their hearts.
“Show creator, writer and exec producer Derren Litten has some great plans for the tenth series and it’s a real treat to welcome Hale & Pace and Shane Richie to the Solana resort.”
Joyce Temple Savage (Sherrie Hewson), Mateo (Jake Canuso), Liam (Adam Gillen), Kenneth (Tony Maudsley) and Jacqueline (Janine Duvitski) will all be returning.

Caprice quit The Jump to undergo life-saving brain tumour surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Caprice was forced to quit ‘The Jump’ after undergoing life-saving surgery on a brain tumour.
The 45-year-old model had to sit out of the extreme sports show in February after she was struck down with a mystery illness and subsequently withdrew from the competition held on the Austrian slopes.
And, now she has revealed the reason she had to back out of the competition was that she discovered she had a thumb-sized tumour during filming.
Caprice has thanked the team of doctors on the Channel 4 programme for advising her to seek medical help.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, she explained: “I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. I found out while I was competing in the show and boy, was it more horrific than any of the challenges.
“I had headaches that were not going away and my vision was beginning to act up so the show’s production insisted I see their doctor.”
The blonde beauty immediately thought about her three-year-old twin sons Jax and Jett – whom she has with her long-term partner Ty Comfort – when she found out the devastating news.
She said: “My first thought was for my two little boys. I’m their rock and keep my family together. It was the scariest moment I’d ever experienced.”
The businesswoman also fractured her ribs whilst on the show.
She said recently: “You are training eight hours a day so I’ve been tired and had bad falls, aches and pains and bruises. I hurt my head and fractured my ribs when I was practicing the ski jump. As I hit the airbag, my skis bashed against me.”
The By Caprice Lingerie founder battled on through the competition, regardless of the pain, because at that stage of the contest Sir Bradley Wiggins and Vogue Williams pulled out due to life-changing injuries.
She explained at the time: “There’s nothing much you can do about that – you just have to bandage it up. Everyone else is so courageous and I don’t want to look like a wuss so I just have to get on with it.”

James 'Arg' Argent to leave Thai rehab soon

OHMYGOSSIP — James ‘Arg’ Argent is preparing himself to leave a self-help retreat in Thailand.
The 29-year-old ‘TOWIE’ star – who previously battled with his weight, spent time in rehab and admitted to being “badly depressed” – took some time off from filming the show in order to focus on his wellbeing and jetted to a Thai retreat in February, where he has been enjoying daily meditation sessions.
On Sunday afternoon (16.04.17), he shared a selfie with his 1.6 million fans of himself looking slimmer in bed on Twitter while giving a health update.
Alongside the photo, he wrote: “Me, MYSELF & I … Counting down the days until I’m home!!! #poser #imfullyawareineedahaircut x (sic)”
Several of Arg’s ‘TOWIE’ pals have taken to the micro-blogging site to wish him well.
Dan Edgar wrote: “Oi selfie king looking slim! see you soon (sic)”
Chris Clark said: “Looking double well bro see ya soon (sic)”
And Lewis Bloor added: “My boy cant wait to see you (sic)”
An insider previously said of his admission to rehab: “Arg is in Thailand where he is trying to clean up his act. He wants to sort out his head and beat his demons once and for all.
“Being so far away from Essex and the bright lights is hopefully going to help him – acting as a kind of rehabilitation process. He is trying to make himself a better person and is doing some soul-searching.
“He wants to come back to the show stronger and is looking forward to doing so at some point in the future.
“Everyone just wants what is best for him.”
Back in 2015, Arg was suspended from the ITVBe show for failing to turn up to filming amid rumours of drug and alcohol abuse and he admitted his best friend Mark Wright threatened to ban him from his wedding to Michelle Keegan if he didn’t turn his life around.
He said: “I’m embarrassed to say this but so many people tried [to help] and got pushed away.
“Mark told me I wasn’t invited to his wedding if I didn’t change. When I went into rehab he got in touch because he was so proud of me.
“Underneath everything I was badly depressed. I was so anxious and tired.
“At that point I was hiding from everyone in my flat. Lydia [Bright] would beg me to open the door. My mum would come round crying and I’d pretend I wasn’t there. I just couldn’t face anyone.”

Bill Nighy's career fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Nighy always worries his career will “fall apart”.
The 67-year-old actor – who has a daughter, Mary, 32, with former partner Diana Quick – found fame relatively late in life thanks to his role in 2003 movie ‘Love, Actually’ and he wishes he’d known such success would come eventually when he was younger as it would have saved him a lot of stress.
He said: “I always had low expectations. When I was in theatre, I never expected to work in television. I certainly never expected to be in a film.
“But then this film led to a degree of… I’m having difficulty saying the word ‘fame’.
“Had I known things were going to look up in the way they did, I would’ve arranged to be more cheerful in the early years.
“When you’ve got a family and you’re worrying about the mortgage, it would have been nice to know you could relax.
“But even now, I’m not entirely relaxed because you always think this whole thing could just fall apart.”
The ‘Their Finest’ star believes there is still a huge gender gap in society but is thankful his filmmaker daughter is going into the industry now as things are slowly changing and “will improve”.
He told Red magazine: “Everything is more difficult for a woman. Well, not everything, but lots of areas remain half-open to women, if not closed.
“My daughter is a director and I think, actually, it’s not a bad time for her to start because things will improve.
“It’s ludicrous that we’re even having this conversation. What difference does it make what genitalia you have? It’s insane.”
Bill will always feel blessed to have a daughter.
He said: “[Mary] never believed that I wanted a girl because she’d read that men always want sons.
“But, if I could choose, I would absolutely fill the house with women. Why wouldn’t you?”

Mark Hamill's Star Wars: The Force Awakens script regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hamill would have liked to have seen a final scene with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
The 65-year-old actor – who portrays the Jedi Knight in the science- fiction franchise – only has one regret about the 2015 movie, and that is that he wishes Luke came to the rescue of Princess Leia [Carrie Fisher] by saving her life before her son, Darth Vader, killed her on-screen husband and his father, Han Solo [Harrison Ford].
Speaking to website www.fandango.com, he admitted: “When I was reading it, I thought if Leia is trying to mentally contact me and she is unsuccessful, she’ll rush to his [Han’s] aid and get into some dire situation, and that’s when I show up.
“I save her life, and then we rush to Han, and then we are in the same position that Rey and Finn and Chewie are — too late to save him, but witnesses.”
Meanwhile, Mark has said that his character could turn to the dark side in new movie ‘The Last Jedi’.
Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration in Florida over the weekend, he teased: “It’s possible, anything’s possible.
However, he quipped that he has “short term memory loss” and “lost credibility with the public through social media because I lie all the time”.
Mark also admitted that he doesn’t agree with “everything” that has been decided for his character by producer Rian Johnson in the forthcoming film.
He said: “I think you’ll find some things that’ll surprise you.
“They certainly surprised me. I said to Rian, I think I fundamentally disagree with everything you’ve decided for me. Now having said that, I have to accept it, get my mind around it and do my best to realize your vision. Once I got into it, a lot of my fears went away.”

Gemma Oaten's new man Scott Walker

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Oaten is reportedly dating producer Scott Walker.
The 32-year-old actress has struck up a romance with the hunky Australian not long after revealing her fling with Nick Knowles put her off dating.
The pair were spotted attending events in London together last week, including the Jog-On to Cancer bash held at Kensington Roof Gardens in West London last Wednesday (12.04.17).
An insider says the couple are in the “early” stages of a relationship.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: “It’s early days but she is happy. Scott is a lovely guy and very supportive.
“They make a good team.”
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star recently revealed her brief relationship with ‘DIY SOS’ host, Nick – which ended when he reportedly dumped her to reconcile with his estranged wife – left her feeling “burned”.
She admitted: “It was weird. It was very eggy and it did put me off dating.
“I’ve been a little bit burned and now is the time for me to be a little bit selfish and look after me.
“It’s not been easy. I saw him at the National Television Awards and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife.
“But I’m OK now. And if he’s all right that’s brilliant. I genuinely don’t wish him any ill will.
“I actually wish I could see him and talk to him about it. But that will never happen.”
The 54-year-old TV presenter previously defended himself after he came under fire for how the fling ended, by saying they dated for “less than a week” during a “turbulent, traumatic” time in his life when he was estranged from Jessica Moor, the mother of his young son.
Taking to his Twitter account, after Gemma lashed out at him in a newspaper interview, he said: “Life is not about what happens to you, it’s about how you deal with it. This year we faced a miscarriage, the break down of our marriage and cancer without being disrespectful about each other at any point. We are saddened for each other and for the sake of our young son that this is being played out so publicly.
“The story in today’s paper is something that happened (in the space of less than one week) during a turbulent, traumatic time and more to the point – whilst we were separated. It is unfortunate we are having to relive it purely so someone can financially gain from exploiting our private life.
“With everything that’s happened this year, even discussing this seems very trivial in comparison to what we have dealt with and are still dealing with. As always, our answer is united, as we are. We have enjoyed eight years as best friends and nothing will change that. (sic)”

Ella Purnell's young role disappointment

OHMYGOSSIP — Ella Purnell is “disappointed” not to play the younger version of acclaimed actresses anymore.
The 20-year-old actress previously portrayed youthful incantations of Angelina Jolie’s ‘Maleficent’ character, Margot Robbie’s alter ego in ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ and Keira Knightley in ‘Never Let Me Go’ and has learned a lot from working with the successful older women.
She said: “My agents tell me I can’t play the kid versions of these actors anymore, which is disappointing.
“I didn’t go to drama school, so I always liked saying to these incredible, successful women, ‘Teach me how to be you.’ ”
Ella took her first leading role in ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ and had been a big fan of director Tim Burton for years thanks to his movie ‘Edward Scissorhands’.
She said: “I love movies that are super-stylistic, and I was a creepy kid too.
“A guy with blades as hands? That’s much cooler than some prince.”
Ella began acting as a part-time hobby, landing her first role in a commercial at the age of nine, and can’t believe how far she’s come.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: “It was like I blinked and this was my life. I’m an actress now.”
The young actress can next be seen starring in London play ‘Natives’ as a social media-obsessed young girl, known as A, who defines her life by how popular her Instagram posts are and she thinks it was an appropriate subject to tackle.
She said: “We all deal with this now, so the role has been super-liberating.”

Britain's Got Talent's new series kicks off

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ stage was urinated on by dogs as the new series kicked off on ITV.
The first episode of the talent show saw a variety of different acts performing including an eight-year-old comedian and a pair of mind readers, who shocked the crowd with their captivating performance.
The show kicked off with Ned, an eight-year-old comedian from Maidstone, who roasted the judges by comparing Amanda Holden to a talking dog.
His comedy act was met with a round of applause from the audience for his sheer bravery and he sailed through to the next round.
The launch of the 11th series saw Simon Cowell push the golden buzzer for the first time of the series sending 15-year-old superstar Sarah from Milton Keynes straight through to the live semi-finals.
The judges and audience alike were left in awe of Sarah’s performance of the ‘Dreamgirls’ hit, ‘And I Am Telling You’.
Initially, the judges were sceptical about the brave song choice but Sarah defied their worries and insisted it was the song most suitable to show off her range.
Alesha Dixon said: “A girl of your age shouldn’t have a voice that talented. I didn’t want to press the golden buzzer because I wanted Simon to do it.”
Sarah’s family stormed the stage after she got the golden buzzer.
Another act had an emotional impact on both the audience and the judges. ‘The Missing Persons Choir’, a group of people who have come together over their shared struggle of having missing family members, performed ‘I Miss You’.
The choir’s performance brought tears to the audience members as pictures of their loved ones were projected on the screen behind them.
With a standing ovation from the judges and the audience, the choir received four yeses.
Another four yeses went to mind readers D and A who left the judges stunned as they used both Simon and Amanda as part of their mind reading act.
An act of ‘Doga’ – yoga which incorporates a dog – had three of the four judges as well as presenter Dec Donnelly on stage with their own pooches.
However, the performance – which got three yeses – ended in shambles as some of the dog’s urinated on stage and in David Walliams’ shoes, leaving the audience wiping happy tears from their faces.
Like every series, there are acts that simply don’t cut it. Painter and decorator Jim’s unusual four-act performance saw him change costumes and papier-mâché masks and dance around the stage. However, he missed out on a place in the next round.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ continues next weekend.

Simon Cowell: David Walliams is like a 'big dog'

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has jokingly compared David Walliams to a “big dog”.
The 57-year-old entertainment mogul will once again return to the judging panel for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ alongside the comedian when the show returns to television screens on Saturday (15.04.17) night, and has joked that working with David is like being around an overly excited pooch.
He said: “David’s a giant. It’s like having a mountain behind you. A couple of times he has actually fallen on me. I’m thinking: ‘I’m going to break my neck here one day.’ But I can’t say anything because if I say: ‘Don’t do it,’ it gets worse. So I have to keep my mouth shut.
“Someone asked me the other day how I’d sum David up. You know when you had an auntie who had a big dog and, if you went there for tea, it would hump your leg? The first couple of times it’s like, ‘Can you get off my leg, please?’ After the third time you don’t even notice it. That’s sort of how I view my relationship with David. He is verging on the insane. I do believe that.”
And fellow judge Alesha Dixon has also taken note of the 45 year old’s wild ways too, as she recalled one instance where the star “pulled his trousers down” on camera.
She said: “Oh my goodness, did you hear what David did on the last day of auditions? It was the last act of the tour, so Amanda [Holden] and I got up on the desk dancing because we were celebrating.
“Then David pulled his trousers down. I shouldn’t really laugh but it was hilarious. It was one of those moments where I just never saw it coming. As outrageous as he can be, even I was shocked. Put it this way, we saw a lot.
Straight afterwards we went to the producers: ‘Can you actually show that?’ So we’ll have to wait and see whether it makes the final cut.”
The 38-year-old singer does “feel a little bit sorry” for Simon though, as she admits David’s antics can be a bit much.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I am actually starting to feel a little bit sorry for Simon. He literally spends most of the day trying not to be manhandled by David. David’s attempting to drag him out of his chair to dance and Simon doesn’t want to. One day that chair is going to go flying.
“David just won’t stop. He’s like a dog with a bone. Simon has found a way to have a sense of humour about it and, at the same time, it’s very funny to watch.”
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ starts Saturday (15.04.17) at 8pm on ITV.

Chris Chibnall: I'm 'proud' of Broadchurch

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Chibnall is “proud” of the final episode of ‘Broadchurch’.
The 46-year-old television writer is the creator of the popular ITV crime drama which will air its final ever episode on Monday (17.04.17), and has said despite it being “very emotional” for him to write, he admits he’s pleased with the final result.
Speaking about the show – which stars David Tennant and Olivia Coleman – Chris said: “Sitting down to write the final episode was very emotional and I admit I actually had a bit of a weep doing it. Obviously it is a very emotional story we are telling and there are lots of complex shades of emotion.
“There is the resolution to the story of the attack on Trish, which goes to a lot of dark places, but there is also the small matter of saying goodbye to the show and all these characters.”
The writer – who is set to become the showrunner of BBC sci-fi hit ‘Doctor Who’ when Steven Moffat steps down at the end of this year – also teased that the final episode offers “a sense of completion” to the audience.
He added: “There is pressure with every script, but I am really proud of the final episode. Hopefully there are some surprises, but I also hope it is satisfying. I think there is a sense of completion and lots of nods to where we started in series one.”
Meanwhile, Chris admits he had second thoughts about bringing the show to an end, and admitted he “felt like an idiot” for his decision.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I felt like a bit of an idiot. I was like: ‘Why am I saying goodbye to David and Olivia and all these brilliant people?’ But I didn’t have another story to tell in this world and I think it’s nice to go out on such strong form.
“There seems to be a real groundswell of affection for the show this year, which I hadn’t really expected.”
The finale of ‘Broadchurch’ airs on Monday (17.04.17) at 9pm on ITV.

John Boyega: Finn is a 'big deal' in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega says his ‘Star Wars’ character is a “big deal” in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
The 25-year-old actor plays Finn in the new trilogy of the popular sci-fi franchise which started with ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in 2015, and has teased details about his character in the upcoming movie ‘The Last Jedi’, which is the eighth instalment in the saga.
He said: “Finn’s a big deal. Hes a big deal in the resistance now. I mean, you’ve got to think about it, between [episodes] VII and VIII, people have now heard about all the amazing things that he has done. And now he’s, like, waving and saying hi to all the resistance ladies around. It is that kind of transition, it’s crazy! It’s a fun time.”
And John has also teased details of Finn’s relationship with a new character named Rose, who will be played by Kelly Marie Tran.
He added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Kelly’s character is an absolute fan of Finn. She’s so interested. It takes an interesting turn though as they get closer. The dynamic between them is very interesting. Finn sees a lot of himself in her, and she’s still trying to figure out her place. She’s not a soldier. She’s not a pilot. She’s trying to figure out what can she impart that’s important to the good fight. And so they both have to figure that out together.”
Meanwhile, Kelly herself recently gave an insight into her character, and gushed about being given the chance to work on the popular film franchise.
She said: “[Rose is] part of the resistance, she works in maintenance. Like [director] Rian [Johnson] said, she’s kind of pulled into this journey, and someone who might not see herself as a hero, and that’s kind of how she relates to me. I’m a total nerd. Part of me was like, ‘Is this a dream? Pinch myself. Is this a dream?’ That’s kind of been the last two years of my life, a dream.”

Anne Hathaway baffled by success

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway is “constantly baffled” by her own success.
The Oscar-winning actress enjoyed working on her latest movie ‘Colossal’ because she knows the indie comedy isn’t something she would have been able to work on when she was just starting out in her career.
She said: “The fact I’m, like, a Hollywood actress – I’m like, seriously? Me? OK, I really did not expect any of this. I’m constantly baffled.
“It’s not like I’ve been trying to avoid making these movies [like ‘Colossal’], you just wait for the ones that really speak to you.
“And I felt very lucky because in my early career I couldn’t have gotten a movie like this made.”
The 34-year-old beauty – who has 12-month-old son Jonathan with husband Adam Shulman – always “believes in” the movies she works on but admits she has other reasons for taking on a project than simply “artistic purity”.
She said: “I’ve yet to make a movie that I didn’t believe in on some level, but somebody asked me, ‘Do you do it to advance your career or do you do it for love/’ I can’t claim artistic purity.
“I’m very conscious of making movies that will allow me to keep making movies, because I love this and I want to do it for the rest of my life.”
Anne is unsure as yet if being a parent will change the way she views her work.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I don’t know. It’s all so new. I’ve done little pockets of different things, where I’ve worked a little bit on this project, or done a quick photoshoot,
“Yesterday was the first day where I was gone all day, came home, and spent time with [Jonathan] then had to go out again at night.
“And I’m not going to lie, it was hard.
“I was so happy to be promoting the film and all I wanted to do was stay home with my baby.”

Mario Falcone wants Pete Wicks and Chloe Sims to date?

OHMYGOSSIP — Mario Falcone thinks Pete Wicks and Chloe Sims would be the perfect couple.
The twosome set tongues wagging earlier this month when photographs emerged of them reportedly getting cosy with one another shortly after the heavily-inked hunk’s split from Megan McKenna but, although they’re adamant they’re just friends, Mario is convinced they’d be really good together but fears for their close platonic relationship.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: “I don’t think so but they’d be a good couple. They have fun together as friends, which is key when it comes to relationships. Pm paper they’d be great but there’s risk of losing the friendship. Chloe and me took it a step too far three years ago and we’re lucky to still be friends.”
The 29-year-old hunk has just returned to the ITVBe show following a few years away from the cameras and is hoping that bosses will decide to extend his contract.
He explained: “Hopefully it’ll be an extended thing because I’m enjoying being back. The break gave me some time to reassess. My life is exactly where I want to be.”
Mario is now in a happy relationship with salon owner Becky Miesner and is adamant he wouldn’t let her join the programme in the near future because it “doesn’t work” when the romance is played out on television.
The heartthrob – who was in a relationship with Lucy Mecklenburgh when he was last on the show – said when asked if Becky would be joining him on screen: “No! She has no interest in coming on and I wouldn’t have her on it because it doesn’t work.”

Pixie Lott: The Voice Kids teaches the value of rejection

OHMYGOSSIP — Pixie Lott has defended ‘The Voice Kids’, despite claims it puts young children under too much pressure.
The 26-year-old singer is set to appear as a judge on the children’s version of the ITV talent competition, and although the show has received criticism for putting children as young as seven through a heart-breaking rejection if they don’t impress the judging panel, Pixie believes their youth makes the rejection easier to deal with.
She said: “They are all so talented but obviously you can’t put them all through. The kids that didn’t go through to the next round are so fearless and so excited just to be there, and we get to speak to them afterwards. They’re still so excited about their futures and what they can do because they are so young. It’s not like it’s their last chance.”
The ‘Mama Do’ hitmaker – who will join veteran judge will.i.am and McFly’s Danny Jones in the judges chairs – admits she does empathise with the young children as she too started auditioning at a young age, but says the “knock-backs” come with the job and should be expected.
She added during an appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain’: “It’s amazing to have those experiences when you’re so young. Now I’m a bit older it’s like water off a duck’s back. If I experienced it now for the first time at 26 it would be a lot harder.”
“I do have loads of empathy for the kids because I’ve gone through doing those auditions at the same age, but I’m still doing it now. There’s no way you can have a career in this profession without those knock-backs.”
Meanwhile, Emma Willis, who fronts the main series ‘The Voice UK’, will continue her job as host of the children’s version, which is set to air in June this year.

Simon Cowell thinks his son should judge Britain's Got Talent

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell thinks his son would make an excellent ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge.
The 57-year-old entertainment mogul has three-year-old son Eric with his partner Laura Silverman, and has said the toddler is already starting to act like his father, and Simon even uses Eric’s reaction to an act to help him decide whether or not to send them through.
He said: “He definitely gets what is a good song. He remembers the words and he knows who the artists are. His taste in music for his age is quite incredible. When I watch the audition clips back afterwards, I watch him. If he’s interested in the clip, they’re usually very good. When he looks away, they’re not. He gets it and he loves coming to the show.
“The first time he came down, he was nervous because he saw an ‘X’ as being a kiss. That’s what his mum [Lauren] had taught him. So he used to call our judges’ buzzers The Scary Kisses.
“Then he worked out they weren’t kisses and, when he was about two, I asked him what I did for a job. He said ‘You press buzzers.’ I said ‘Yes but there’s a little bit more to it than that.’ And now he’s starting to get it.”
And Simon admits it would be his “dream” for Eric to one day take over his empire, which includes heading the ITV talent competition as well as ‘The X Factor’ and his entertainment company Syco Entertainment.
He added: “I think and I hope he’ll end up doing my job one day. That would be my dream.”
His dream might become a reality sooner than he thinks, as fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Amanda Holden says Eric is already a “mini Simon”.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Amanda said: “He’s a gorgeous boy. He is like a mini Simon. One day at ‘BGT’, Simon was running late and Eric was walking in front of us and he said: ‘Let’s do this, guys,’ wearing his little leather jacket and his white shirt with three buttons undone, just like his father.”
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ starts Saturday (15.04.17) at 8pm on ITV.

Kathleen Kennedy: Carrie Fisher will not be in Star Wars Episode IX

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed the late Carrie Fisher will not be appearing in ‘Star Wars Episode IX’ after her brother Todd Fisher hinted she would.
The 59-year-old actor previously claimed the late actress – who passed away on December 27 – would still be making an appearance as Princess Leia in the movie using archive footage from previous ventures, but studio head Kathleen has now dubbed Todd as “confused” as she confirmed Carrie will not be featured in the final instalment of the popular franchise.
During an Interview with ABC News, Kathleen said: “Sadly, Carrie will not be in nine. But we will see a lot of Carrie in eight.”
Previously, Disney had confirmed they would not be using CGI to create a likeness of the late star, but Todd had claimed that reusing old footage was a possibility.
He said: “Both of us were like, ‘Yes, how do you take her out of it?’ And the answer is you don’t. She’s as much a part of it as anything and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi Wan – when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue … To me, ‘Star Wars’ is the holy grail of storytelling and lore and you can’t mess with it.”
Disney and Lucasfilm announced via a statement released in January that they had no plans to “digitally recreate” the character of Princess Leia for the movie.
They said in a statement: “We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.
“Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honour everything she gave to Star Wars.”
Carrie and her alter-ego will still appear in the upcoming ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, because her scenes were already finished before the time of her death.
