Paul Hollywood’s name mix up

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood keeps calling Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig ‘Mel and Sue’.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ star moved with the show when it was snapped away from the BBC by Channel 4 and reportedly keeps making the faux pas by referring to the show’s former presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, who fronted the show for six years.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Paul keeps calling them Mel and Sue in conversations and during filming without realising. He starred on Bake Off with Mel and Sue for six years so it’s no surprise he has not quite got his head around the change in presenters.
“To start with it was endearing   but  filming has finished on the new series and started on the Christmas show and he’s still getting Sandi and Noel mixed up with Mel and Sue all these weeks down the line. It’s a bit awkward when he does it and no one wants to say anything.”
Meanwhile, Paul recently revealed the standard is “ten times higher” this year.
He said: “The presenters are on for about five minutes and the bakers are on there for 50 minutes, so they are the stars of the show. The characters on this year’s show are the strongest we have had and the standard is ten times higher. People get wrapped up in all this ‘host and judges’ thing too much. They forget that it’s all about the bakers.”
And in contrast to the old presenting team, the new line-up are said to spend little time with each other when the cameras are not rolling.
The source said previously: “Paul, Prue, Sandi and Noel sit in their personal spaces backstage and don’t talk to each other. Sandi in particular spends most of the time knitting alone and refusing to mix with the others.”

Perry Benson has left Benidorm

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Benidorm’ star Perry Benson has left the show for good.
The 56-year-old star joined the comedy series as pot bellied Clive Dyke alongside Hannah Waddington as his glamorous beautician wife Tonya, but the couple from Watford haven’t been seen on the show since 2015. and he has confirmed he’s had to “move on” despite having so much “fun” with the character.
The actor – who featured in 14 episodes of the ITV sitcom – said: “I’m not in ‘Benidorm’ again, they’re filming a series as we speak. It was fun doing it but you move on.”
Perry – who rose to fame in ‘You Rang, M’Lord?,’ ‘Oh, Doctor Beeching!’ and starred in ‘This Is England’ – has filled his schedule with other projects and is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe next month to star in a new Irvine Welsh play called ‘Performers’ at the Assembly Ballroom.
He’s also working on the reboot of Ray Burdis’ BBC Two mockumentary ‘Operation Good Guys’ in which he played Bones from 1997-2001 and also revealed that the series – which featured celebrity cameos from the likes of Jude Law and Jonny Lee Miller – will eventually be made into a movie.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “Recently we’ve done lots of new segments we are going to put on YouTube and now we have got funding for a feature film.”
Meanwhile, ‘Benidorm’ is racking up a number of celebrity cameos including Bobby Ball – who is one half of the comedy duo Cannon and Ball.
The 73-year-old star will be joined by Tommy Cannon, Hale and Pace and the Chuckle Brothers in the upcoming 10th series of the popular show and his character is said to be linked to the Dawson family.
The new series of the show will also see a guest appearance from former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, and programme bosses are keen to sign more big names up to mark a decade on screen.
A source said: “There are more names to come. We’re going all out to make this a series to remember.”

Jodie Whittaker Whittaker’s Doctor Who will be attracted to women

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who is set to have a relationship with a woman.
The ‘Broadchurch’ star is the first female to ever portray the Time Lord and her new co-star Michelle Gomez, who plays Missy in the sci-fi hit, has revealed the character will be gay or bisexual and could hook up with her assistant – who has traditionally been female.
She let slip: “Now we have a got a female Doctor so there is going to be girl on girl.”
But it won’t be the first time that a lesbian love story has featured in the BBC series because the doctor’s assistant Bill Potts – played by Pearl Mackie – shared a kiss with a gay alien in the last series.
And when asked whether a gay Doctor would fit in with the drama, she said: “It might work. Obviously it might be awful.”
And Pearl agreed: “It could work.”
Jodie will have the support of former Doctor Peter Capaldi, who portrayed the titular character in the sci-fi series for the past four years, and believes he can guide her “through the madness” like previous ‘Doctor Who’ stars did for him.
He said: “Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker’s work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm. She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor. David Tennant and Matt Smith have been fabulous to me, because some days things can become overpowering and who can I talk to, and those guys do talk to me.
“I hope I can do that with Jodie. I am always here to talk her through the madness.”
And it’s not just Peter who agrees with Chibnall’s decision to cast Jodie, 35, as producers at the broadcaster can’t wait to see how she’ll depict the time-traveller.
Piers Wenger, Controller BBC Drama explained: “Jodie is not just a talented actor but she has a bold and brilliant vision for her Doctor.
“She aced it in her audition both technically and with the powerful female life force she brings to the role. She is destined to be an utterly iconic Doctor.”

Scott Thomas has no plans to propose to Kady McDermott

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Thomas has no plans to propose to Kady McDermott just yet.
The ‘Love Island’ hunk has been dating the brunette beauty since they met in the famous villa last year and, although their relationship is going from strength-to-strength, he’s not planning to pop the question just yet because his partner is only 21 years old.
Speaking to star magazine, he said: “Not just yet – Kady’s only 21! Everyone cam move at their own pace and we’re enjoying where we’re out right now.”
The couple recently moved in together in Manchester with their adorable Pomeranian and have admitted they really enjoy spending time together in their own place.
Scott added: “I was a bit of a sofa surfer before and now we’ve got our own little house and our own family with the dog.”
And, although they’re keen to take things slowly, they’ve already started thinking about children and have picked out the names they will give their offspring.
Kady said previously: “I love children so much. But not right now.
“We’ve already chosen our children’s names. For a boy we like Noah and a girl we want Skye. We want a boy and a girl.”
Scott – who is the brother of actors Adam and Ryan Thomas – added: “Two children would be ideal. My brothers are amazing dads and some day I’d love to follow in their footsteps. I’m always round Adam and Caroline’s so I spend a lot of time with Teddy. I’m like the third wheel so I can’t wait to take Kady out with them.”
The pair think spending so much time in such close quarters while they were on the reality TV show last year has accelerated their romance.
Scott, 28, said shortly after they left the villa: “Yes, but because people don’t understand our situation it feels cringe saying it to other people.
“Six weeks in there is like six months in reality. We didn’t want to say it on camera because people wouldn’t have believed it was genuine, but we know how we feel.”

Kem Cetinay’s Love Island regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay regrets betraying Amber Davies on ‘Love Island’.
The 21-year-old hairdresser and his 20-year-old girlfriend were crowned the winners of the ITV2 show with a whopping £50,000 prize this week and Kem admits he is still upset that he almost threw away the relationship for a fling with Chyna Ellis, even though they were on a break at the time.
He told The Sun: “It was such a big moment. What happened was the biggest regret for me.
“I hate that I snogged Chyna. It is still hard for me to hear.
“I don’t like talking about it because it genuinely makes me feel sick. I hate it.
“Amber felt like I weren’t interested in her, that’s why she kept her options open.
“My way of dealing with feelings is putting it on someone else.”
However, he blamed the indiscretion on his feelings of vulnerability.
Kem said: “I was so not in control of the situation and was pushing everything away. It was my way of dealing with not knowing what was going on.
“Mine and Amber’s issue is that we are both so scared of being vulnerable in a serious relationship.
“When you’re young and in a relationship you’re always going to learn and make mistakes.”
Meanwhile, Kem and Amber were over the moon when they were announced as the winners of the show earlier this week, but bosses decided to put their relationship to the test almost immediately as both of them had to pick an envelope – one containing the prize money and the other was empty – and whoever won the cash could either keep it for themselves or share it with their partner.
After having the grace to let Amber pick her envelope first, it was Kem who managed to bag the cash, and after an audience member told him to share the money with his pal Chris, the hunk decided to honour his girlfriend by splitting the funds with her.
He said: “Of course I’m going to share it”.

Michael Caine had surprise cameo in Dunkirk

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Nolan has confirmed Sir Michael Caine had a cameo in ‘Dunkirk’.
The ‘Inception’ filmmaker has collaborated with the British actor in six of his films since 2005’s ‘Batman Begins’, his last being 2014’s ‘Interstellar’.
However, Nolan has now revealed the 84-year-old legend was recorded giving orders to two pilots played by Tom Hardy and Jack Lowden in the World War II epic and he’s startled how few managed to place the voice with the actor.
Speaking to NJ.com, Nolan said: “It’s shocking to me that a lot of people haven’t spotted the cameo, when he has really one of the most distinctive voices in cinema.
“I wanted very much to squeeze him in here. It’s a bit of a nod to his character in ‘Battle of Britain’.
“And also, it’s Michael. He has to be in all my films, after all.”
‘Dunkirk’ is based on the real-life 1940 British-led rescue mission in which 330,000 Allied troops were rescued from the clutches of the Nazis.
Many of the actors in the film are well-known including Sir Kenneth Branagh and Sir Mark Rylance, others are Nolan regulars such as Cillian Murphy and Hardy, as well as newcomers Fionn Whitehead and One Direction star Harry Styles.
Similar to Caine, Hardy has worked with the director on three movies, ‘Inception’, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and ‘Dunkirk’ and recently admitted it would be a “no-brainer” if the filmmaker wanted to cast him again, regardless of the scale of the project.
Asked if he’d say yes to anything from the director, Hardy said: “It’s always been that way with Chris, yes. For me, it’s wonderful to meet someone who is completely in control of the elements and assets that he has available to him.
“He has a specific confidence that I’ve not met in another filmmaker. Akin to George Miller actually. Inarritu did as well, actually. They’re very specific about what they want.
“But Chris, the most so, out of everyone I’ve ever worked with. So yeah, it’s a no-brainer if he says, ‘Tom, do you want to jump on this option?’
“Whatever he wants to do. Even if he wants to shoot a short film in his garden, I know it’s going to be good and I’ll learn something.”

David Ayer wants to do Gotham City Sirens for daughters

OHMYGOSSIP — David Ayer wanted to make ‘Gotham City Sirens’ for his daughter.
The filmmaker helmed the 2016 villain-focused movie ‘Suicide Squad’ – which featured Harley Quinn, one of the ‘Sirens’ – and Ayer reportedly was eyed for the upcoming sequel but decided to focus his attention on the female-orientated movie.
Speaking to Den of Geek, the filmmaker said: “It’s a story about three fantastic women who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realise that they have more power together than they do individually.
“I have daughters and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.”
Margot Robbie – who is also an executive producer on the project – will reprise her role as sexy, psychotic supervillain Harley in the new movie, which will focus on the women from the DC comics world.
In the recent comic series, which the movie will be based on, Catwoman and Poison Ivy featured alongside Harley and could appear in the upcoming film.
‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet is penning the script.
In September, Robbie was reported to have signed a “first-look” deal with Warner Bros. to produce the Harley spin-off film.
She is said to have fallen in love with the character after portraying her in ‘Suicide Squad’.
It’s not known whether Quinn’s dangerous lover The Joker (Jared Leto) will star in the spin-off or Batman (Ben Affleck), who is traditionally the superhero trying to stop the pair’s criminal plans.
But Robbie has previously admitted she would love Quinn and The Joker to reunite.
She said: “I’m trying to make that happen. Not for anything specifically, but just something – there’s so much more to do.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros is also working on a ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel and a spin-off for Will Smith’s character Deadshot.

Dame Julie Walters slams gender pay gap

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Julie Walters has slammed the gender gap in the movie business.
Last week, the BBC were forced to reveal the pay of their employees and the information has caused a lot of controversy as many male stars earn more than the female staff, now, the 67-year-old ‘Harry Potter’ actress has said “equal pay is the answer”.
Speaking to Good Housekeeping magazine, the actress said: “It should be out there. The men were earning more money. Why? It’s the same bloody job. It’s women who go to the cinema generally speaking, so it doesn’t make sense from that point of view either. I think it’s wrong. Equal pay is the answer.”
Walters has also said she was thinking of retiring when she reached 60 but then got a part in a National Theatre play and she has admitted she will not “formally” retire.
She said: “When I reached 60, I thought I don’t know if I want to carry on … then a play came in from The National that I thought was fantastic. I don’t think I will formally retire. I will just fade away out of the business.”
Walters is starring as housekeeper Ellen in the ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ – the sequel to the Dame Julie Andrews hit Disney musical ‘Mary Poppins’ – alongside Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel Miranda.
The movie sees Mary returning to the Banks family to find Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Whishaw) have now grown up but Michael needs assistance with his three children to help them all rediscover the joy of life.
As was previously announced, the film will also feature Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury and Colin Firth as well as child actors Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and Joel Dawson.
And Dick Van Dyke – who starred opposite Julie Andrews in the 1964 original movie – recently confirmed he’ll be returning as jack-of-all-trades Bert.

Matt Reeves wants Planet of the Apes franchise to carry on

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Reeves would like the ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise to carry on.
The director helmed the two latest movies in the franchise – 2014’s ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ and this year’s ‘War of the Planet of the Apes’ – and the most recent release is intended to be the end of a trilogy.
However, Reeves would love the chance to continue the series and develop other characters such as Steve Zahn’s Bad Ape instead of the focus being on Andy Serkis’ chimpanzee alter ego Caesar.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves said: “The whole idea of Bad Ape is that there are other apes out there, and those apes don’t have the benefits of Caesar’s leadership. The conflicts of the future are not going to be humans and apes, they will be apes and apes. I wanted to seed that idea because I thought there were a lot more stories and there are characters that I have grown to love.”
Reeves and producer Dylan Clark previously had discussions about continuing the story beyond the trilogy.
Speaking to Slashfilm, they said: “We absolutely have ideas about where it goes. Because we know that that’s the ending, that it becomes ‘Planet of The Apes’, the cool thing about what was started in ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is that it’s no longer about what happens.
“It’s about how it happens. And stories about how are always about character and psychology. Caesar’s apes are not like the apes in the ‘Planet of the Apes’, right? They’re very brutal to the humans.
“That’s not what’s going on, so how did that happen? And you know that Caesar had such integrity, and that he has this sort of sense of right and wrong, of his morality, yet you watch that be challenged.
“He ends up having to kill one of his own. All of those things give us a chance to explore human nature and do it in a way that is really fun.
“Because these are all, frankly, totally new stories. We’re not doing any stories that were done.”

James Cameron wants three-film Terminator arc

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron wants to revive the ‘Terminator’ franchise with a three-movie arc.
The 62-year-old filmmaker was at the helm for the original cult classic 1984 movie and sequel ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, but was not involved in 2003’s ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’, 2009’s ‘Terminator Salvation’ or 2015’s ‘Terminator Genisys’ but he wants to get back on board with the franchise he launched and return it to former glories.
Speaking to News.com.au, the filmmaker said: “The question is – has the franchise run its course or can it be freshened up? Can it still have relevance now where so much of our world is catching up to what was science fiction in the first two films. We live in a world of predator drones and surveillance and big data and emergent AI. I am in discussions with David Ellison, who is the current rights holder globally for the ‘Terminator’ franchise and the rights in the US market revert to me under US copyright law in a year and a half so he and I are talking about what we can do. Right now we are leaning toward doing a three-film arc and reinventing it.”
‘Terminator Genisys’ saw Emilia Clarke portray Sarah Connor alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, who once again returned as the T-800 cyborg, and although it received a mixed response from critics it went onto gross over $440 million at the global box office making it the second highest-grossing film of the franchise behind ‘T2’.
Schwarzenegger, 69, previously revealed that Cameron was on board to produce the next movie in the franchise and act as creative consultant with Tim Miller directing.
Cameron is also currently working on the three sequels to his hit movie ‘Avatar’.

Jared Leto in talks for Bloodshoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Jared Leto is in talks to star in ‘Bloodshot’.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actor has entered negotiations with Sony to star in their upcoming comic book adaptation, which is based on a 1992 Valiant Comics title created by Kevin VanHook, Yvel Guichet, Don Perlin and Bob Layton.
The tale follows Angelo Mortalli, a former mob hit man who is double-crossed and framed for murder, ending up in witness protection. However, he is then betrayed again by the FBI agent assigned to protect him and kidnapped by a secret government programme, where he is mind is wiped clean – or so they think – and he is infused with nanites, turning him into a super soldier with healing abilities and inhuman strength.
Angelo later escapes and, with parts of his memories remaining, goes looking for those who crossed him and tries to figure out who he is.
If Jared does sign up for the film, he’ll be landing a multi-picture deal as the plan is for at least one sequel and an eventual crossover with the currently-in-development ‘Harbinger’ series.
Dave Wilson is currently signed up to direct, with the movie having previously had a number of different people at the helm since it was set up in 2012, including Matthew Vaughn, who remains attached as a producer.
Jared previously played The Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’ and in preparation for his role he famously sent used condoms and animals to his cast, but the star doesn’t plan on method acting for “every role”.
He said: “I don’t think I need to do it [method acting] for every role. I mean if I was in ‘Baywatch II’, I don’t think I’d need to do it. That would be so much fun, to be in a movie as fun as that. But everyone’s got to do what works for them. Some people can be eating chicken nuggets with a stripper on their lap and then jump right into it.”
However, he believes the technique has helped him to do a “better job” in a film when he is more committed to getting into the character.
He explained: “I’ve always just done what I have to do in order to do a good job — and I feel I do a better job when I give a bigger commitment.”

Cate Blanchett loves playing Marvel’s first female on screen villain

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett can’t believe she’s playing Marvel’s first female on screen villain.
The 48-year-old actress is amazed she has been given the chance to portray Hela, the studio’s first female villain, in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
She said: “I didn’t realise I was inhabiting the first female Marvel villain onscreen. I thought, ‘Surely not … well, no actually that’s true.’
“There’s been many, many, many [female villains] in the comic books, but they’ve been a little tardy in bringing them to the screen, so hopefully there will be a lot more villainesses.”
And Cate was convinced she should take the role after she found out her character was responsible for destroying Thor’s favourite weapon, his iconic hammer.
She added: “That had me at ‘hello’ actually. I thought that was really exciting that they were prepared to destroy Thor’s power in the first few minutes. It’s a nice entrance.”
Cate’s character’s outfit has a Medusa-style look and the blonde beauty has revealed half of her costume was put together in post-production.
She told E! News: “Half of my costume was done in post. So a lot of the time I was trying to look fierce and bad and indomitable in a mocap [motion capture] suit which is pretty hard to do.”
Meanwhile, the film’s director Taika Waititi previously teased the movie will have a “fresh style of humour”.
He said: “My strength in this is bringing my style of humour, which is probably a very different style of humour. They’ve had good jokes in them before, but I think where I come from is maybe a fresher style. It could just shake the entire thing up a bit.
“I’m like the new kid in class. They’re really cool people. I’ve already made some great friends, and everyone wants to make the best story possible … [It’s] more collaborative than I think people probably expect. It’s not just one person ordering everyone around. It’s people discussing and saying, ‘What if it was like this’ or ‘I don’t think it should be like that’, which is very healthy. And it’s actually what I’m used to, coming from theatre and co-ops and collaborating.”

Wonder Woman 2 set for release in December 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Wonder Woman 2′ has been handed an official release date of December 13, 2019.
The original movie, starring Gal Gadot as the fictional superhero, was a huge success with fans and critics, and excitement surrounding the sequel is already starting to build.
The Patty Jenkins-directed hit was given a summer release date, but the follow-up film is set to appear in cinemas nearer Christmas, and it is the only superhero movie set for release in December of that year.
Notably, Warner Bros’ latest announcement about the movie does not mention its director, meaning the studio is still locked in negotiations with Patty about whether she will return to helm the sequel, according to Collider.
However, the movie studio is thought to be eager to have her on board, with much of the original film’s success being tied to the 46-year-old director.
The announcement comes shortly after Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron revealed she rejected a role in ‘Wonder Woman’.
The blonde beauty admitted she was asked to star in the DC Extended Universe movie, but her jam-packed work schedule didn’t allow for her to commit to the project.
Speaking about her career opportunities and being approached by Patty to star in the production, she said: “No, I’m not in ‘Wonder Woman’.
“[Patty] She did come to me, and at the time I was either working on something or I don’t know. There was a reason I couldn’t do it.”
Charlize and Patty worked together on the popular crime film ‘Monster’ in 2003, and they have been great friends ever since.
Charlize said: “[Patty and I] we’re friends. I think the world of her.”

Stephanie Davis taken off bail over alleged assault

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has not been charged over the alleged assault on her now-ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell.
The 24-year-old actress was arrested on suspicion on grievously bodily harm [GBH] earlier this month after she got into a scrap with the Irish model, which left him with a broken nose and a fractured skull, at The Royal Chace Hotel in North London, and, although officers are still investigating, she has been taken off bail.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “She is no longer on bail and has been released under investigation.”
The brunette beauty was detained on July 2 and taken into custody at Wood Green station, before she was later rushed to hospital after it became apparent that she’d suffered five fractured ribs and a broken nose.
Although details of the brawl are not yet known, it’s believed the fight broke out after the 28-year-old hunk allegedly threw a phone containing pictures of the former couple’s six-month-old son Caben-Albi on the floor.
Despite the heated exchange, Jeremy is adamant he didn’t lay a finger on the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star because she was expecting their second child – although Stephanie is yet to confirm that – and claimed she hit him across the face with a wooden post which, ultimately, knocked him out in their hotel room.
He said at the time: “She just told me that she was pregnant. I was pretty shocked as it wasn’t planned, but to be honest I was excited. She told me that she was going to have a scan at the hospital later that afternoon.
“I swear I never laid a finger on her. I do not hit women and do not hit pregnant women. I did not touch her. Any marks that she has on her are self-inflicted. I did not lay a finger on her.”
The pair have been told to stay away from one another and not contact each other, but it seems Stephanie is still bitter about their failed relationship as she blasted him earlier this week and branded him a “drug addict.”
She said: “Just because his dad’s a drug addict womanising waisted doesn’t mean he will grow up like his father. Complete opposite of it has anything to do with me #slagscum (sic).”
The couple started dating last January after they fell in love in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house but, just weeks after they left the abode, their relationship started to crumble and they decided to go their separate ways.
Stephanie later found out she was pregnant but Jeremy refused to have anything to do with her until a paternity test, which was carried out on the tot when he was four weeks old, proved he was Caben’s dad.
Then they decided to give their romance another go, but things hit the rocks again in March when Jeremy was admitted to rehab for his drugs and alcohol addictions.

Paul Nicholls receives a hamper of presents from medical staff at Thai hospital

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Nicholls was given a hamper of presents from medical staff at a Thai hospital.
The 38-year-old actor broke his leg after he plunged from a waterfall into a rock pool at the Khun Si Falls on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, earlier this month, and whilst the former ‘EastEnders’ star is recovering in hospital the team of nurses are making sure he is being well looked after, which has seen them give their patient a wicker basket filled with various products, the Sun Online has reported.
The dark-haired hunk – who portrayed Joe Wicks in the soap – is recovering in the medical centre, and is reportedly in good spirits following the accident, which left him semi-conscious, caused him to suffer from hypothermia, a broken leg and a fracture to his kneecap that became infected as he laid in the water for 72 hours.
Once the British hunk was discovered lying in the shallow pool, he was taken to a hospital two hours away, only to be transferred to a different centre where he was told the operation to mend his limb would cost £90,000 to treat.
However, the British Embassy have insisted Paul needs to be flown back home to the UK to undergo the necessary surgery.
A source separately said: “He needs surgery. But it’s going to cost £90,000 for him to have it in Thailand. The British Embassy want to fly him back here. They need to fly him to the mainland first to a proper hospital and then decide whether to bring him back to the UK or do the surgery there.”
It is not known how Paul fell but some local sources claimed he may have been attempting to take a selfie.

Camilla Thurlow wants to present war documentaries

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla Thurlow wants to present war documentaries.
The ‘Love Island’ finalist may have spent the past six weeks roaming around in her bikini in the Spanish villa, but she’s now keen to get her teeth stuck into something a bit more gritty and is hoping to follow in the footsteps of investigative journalist Ross Kemp, who has previously been to Afghanistan to document the then-war.
Speaking after her return from the villa on Monday (24.07.17), the bomb disposal expert said: “I would literally love to do that.
“Very interestingly, we actually mentioned that on our second date, as that was one of things Jamie [Jewitt] brought up as something he would like to do too.”
Jamie, who she met on ‘Love Island’, added: “It’s a dream job.”
The 28-year-old beauty would love to take advantage of the recent exposure she’s had on television by teaming up with charities to raise awareness.
She said: “I want to use any platform I have to draw attention to any issues that are important to me.
“I spoke to a couple of people today about arranging certain trips in the near future. It’s a friend who works out in Greece who runs a charity out there, so I’d probably go and join them for a bit, then there’s a couple other places I’m thinking of going.”
Camilla first hit the headlines in 2014 when she was romantically linked to Prince Harry and, although things didn’t work out between them, she’s glad they didn’t get together property because she’s “very happy” with Jamie, who she met in the villa.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “I didn’t want my past relationships in the spotlight to upset having a future with someone. I am very happy with Jamie right now. It’s nice that something that has happened in the past is in the past – I’ve had an opportunity to show people the person I am.”
