Greg Davies won’t do Inbetweeners reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Greg Davies isn’t interested in an ‘Inbetweeners’ reunion.
The 49-year-old actor portrayed spiteful teacher Mr Gilbert in the young adult comedy from 2008 until 2010 and, although there are rumours about the show coming back for a one-off series, he’s adamant he’ll never reprise his role for the programme because he’s played a sir too many times and thinks it’s best it’s left to rest on a high.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “It’s a case of writing what you know. But I won’t play another teacher.
“After the ‘Inbetweeners’ I contemplated making Dan [a teacher he plays in ‘Man Down’] in to something else. But the more the writing process went on the more I realised I was just missing a trick. It would be silly not to use these feelings I know.
“There’s a truth to it. Children are entertaining and chaotic. I loved being in the ‘Inbetweeners’ but it’s reached a natural conclusion.”
Greg’s comments will no doubt upset fans as they got excited earlier this year when Joe Thomas – who played unlucky-in-love Simon Cooper – teased that there may be a comeback in the pipeline – but it won’t be set in a sixth form college.
He said at the time: “I think that we are definitely too old now to do anything that is set in a sixth form. If it’s the case that you want to do a show about some sixth formers then obviously we can’t be involved in that, with the best will in the world. But we could do the originals ten years down the line, married with kids. I mean, we can do that now. I would jump at any chance to work with those guys again — in any context, really.”

Paul Danan ‘died’ after snorting heroin

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Danan died and had to be brought back to life after snorting heroin in 2007.
The 39-year-old actor, who played Sol Patrick in ‘Hollyoaks’, has battled addictions to cocaine and painkillers for more than a decade and has admitted he came perilously close to losing his life in an incident he compared to a memorable scene from ‘Pulp Fiction’.
Paul, who is starring in this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, recalled: “My mum found me in my bed and I was making these weird noises and choking on my last breath.
“The ambulance was down the road thankfully, but by the time they arrived I was dead and they brought me back to life. It was awful.
“It was so dangerous as I didn’t even know how to take it, that you were meant to use foil, or inject, or even smoke it, so I snorted it as I’d done cocaine and thought it was like that.”
Paul likened his near-miss to the scene in ‘Pulp Fiction’ when Uma Thurman’s character Mia Wallace mistakes heroin for cocaine and snorts it.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Paul shared: “I did a ‘Pulp Fiction’, like when she snorts the heroin.
“And what happens to her? She’s pretty much dead and needs the reversal, she needed the injection in her heart, that’s what I needed to bring me back.
“They call it ‘going over’, and that happened to me.”
But Paul has insisted heroin was not a long-term problem in his life, saying he’s only taken it one time.
He explained: “I wasn’t a heroin addict. I took it once and have never touched it since.”
However, he admitted drugs have been a persistent problem for him over the last decade.
The actor confessed: “In 2006 and 2007 I was in and out of rehab for cocaine and party drugs and would just keep relapsing and have to go back in.
“Then I was OK for a few years, but in 2010 I came off my motorbike and broke my shoulder and learnt doctors give painkillers out like anything, so I soon became addicted to codeine.
“I kept taking the painkillers to numb the pain and because I have a tendency for addiction, I got used to them and once you get used to opiates you get used to that pill, so you need more to take the pain away.”

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby host Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will reportedly host the revamped ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The presenting duo – who have become known for their work on ITV daytime show ‘This Morning’ – fronted the ice skating competition when it first aired 11 years ago, and it has now been reported the pair will come together once again to re-launch the show when it comes back to ITV in 2018.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a massive coup for ITV to have Holly and Phil back on board. Producers love the idea of going back to the original line-up and they’re both really excited to return to their roots.”
The news comes after it was recently reported that professional skater Sylvain Longchambon is due to return to the show – after having previously appeared in 2011 and 2013 – to help the celebrity hopefuls stay upright in the rink while twisting and turning to music in front of a panel of tough-talking judges.
An insider said: “‘Dancing on Ice’ is going to look quite different when it comes back. Torvill and Dean are going to be on the judging panel so there will need to be a new approach to teaching the celebs to skate.
“Sylvain has been on the show for years and has proved popular with both the fans and the production team so they’ve asked him to come back.
“Things are still up in the air and a lot of new skaters are being considered and approached, so the line-up of pros could look totally different. But Sylvain will definitely be at least one familiar face when the show comes back early next year. There is also talk of him taking a coaching role with Torvill and Dean moving to the judging panel.”
Meanwhile, bosses are still trying to finalise the celebrity line-up but it’s believed Katie Price, Brooke Vincent and footballer’s wife Alex Gerrard are in the running.

Camilla Dallerup is desperate to be a judge on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla Dallerup would jump at the chance of being a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 43-year-old professional dancer appeared on the dance competition for four years, and although she called time on her time on the programme in 2008 – after she won the show with Tom Chambers – she would happily return as a critic on the panel in a “heartbeat” if she was asked.
When asked if she would make a comeback on the BBC One show, she said: “If they asked me back as a judge, I would do it in a heartbeat.”
However, the blonde beauty has insisted she would not return to train celebrities and compete for the glitter ball trophy ever again because she found it “hard work physically and mentally”.
She continued: “But I would not go back as a dancer – absolutely not. I love my life now as a writer, coach and a speaker and I love helping other people through their struggles.
“It was amazing and magical but also hard work physically and mentally. At one point in my life, I was doing too much.”
And the star has admitted she needed some time out to concentrate on herself and her welfare as she found her busy schedule left her felling “weak” and susceptible to illnesses.
She explained: “My immune system was so weak – I’d pick up anything. now I realise it was because I never took enough time for self-care.”
And Camilla is in full support of Shirley Ballas taking over from Len Goodman, 73, as the head judge on the upcoming season because she was previously trained by the 56-year-old ballroom dancer.
She told Star magazine: “I love Shirley, she’s fabulous. She coached me through my twenties and a very hard time in my career. She is tough, but she’s also wonderfully encouraging.”

Shaun Williamson, Sarah Harding + Brandi Glanville enter the Celebrity Big Brother house

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaun Williamson, Sarah Harding and Brandi Glanville have entered the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star, the Girls Aloud singer and the American television personality were joined in the famous abode by ‘Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, spiritual medium Derek Acorah and ‘Hollyoaks’ star Paul Danan.
On entering the house, Sarah was excited about getting a chance to show people who she really is.
She told host Emma Willis: “I have no idea [what I was expecting] but all I can say is that it’s now time for the public to see the real Sarah … I’m bricking it. I just never thought I would get this far. I want people to see where I came from. I started in reality television so why not go back there? I’ve been in a girl band and I don’t like it.”
Also entering the house was ‘Mob Wives’ Marissa Jade, ‘The Bachelorette’s Chad Johnson, comedienne Helen Lederer and former ‘Apprentice’ contestant Karthik Nagesan.
They have been joined by ‘Ibiza Weekender’s Jordan Davies, ‘X Factor’s Amelia Lily, YouTube star Trisha Paytas and tattoo model Jemma Lucy.
As the first housemate into the famous abode, Shaun was set a special task where he had to show a severe case of first night nerves. When each of the contestants arrived, Shaun had to convince his fellow housemates that he was getting more and more nervous.
His final task of the night was to nominate a rock – who he would stick by throughout the night – and he opted for ‘Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle. He then had to keep her inside the house, even with the temptation of a champagne party out in the garden.
But what Shaun doesn’t know is that he is playing for immunity and to make it all even more exciting, there could be a killer nomination making an appearance too.
Earlier in the night, Emma revealed the winner of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will be given £50,000 to hand over to their chosen charity.
The first ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ eviction will take place next Tuesday (08.08.17) and the show will return to screens on Wednesday night (02.08.17).

Joe Russo: Avengers: Infinity War plot got complicated

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Russo says the “hardest part of the job” of making ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was combining all the different Marvel Cinematic Universe narratives.
The next two Avengers movies have been announced as the end of Phase 4 in the MCU and the filmmaker – who is helming the two films with his brother Anthony Russo – said everything has been leading up to ‘Infinity War’, but it’s a complicated journey.
Speaking to Comicbook.com, Joe said: “Everything is setting up ‘Infinity War’. Every narrative that you have seen in any of the Marvel movies leading up to this point comes to bear in some way because all of the characters and all of the franchises are coming together, bringing their themes and their tone and the things that motivate the characters are driving them through this story. It has been the hardest part of the job for us, is melding all of that together. But thankfully we got Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely working with us.
“They are incredible collaborators. They wrote ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ for us and ‘Civil War’. Now they’re writing both ‘Avengers’ movies. I feel like we’ve got a great Vulcan mind meld between the two of them, and me and my brother.”
‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will see the hero squad – Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Vision (Paul Bettany), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) – join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The two teams will have to work together to fight Thanos, with some help from newcomers Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and the screen debut of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
Russo also revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that ‘Infinity War’ is currently the longest ‘Avengers’ movie so far.

Jack Lowden says filming Dunkirk was immense

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Lowden said it was “immense” filming ‘Dunkirk’.
The 27-year-old actor plays Spitfire pilot Collins in Christopher Nolan’s latest World War Two epic and admitted the filmmaker didn’t want to use much CGI, and one day there were more than 1,000 extras on the Dunkirk beach.
Speaking to The I Paper, he said: “That was immense. He doesn’t like to use a lot of CGI, so you would be confronted with this spectacle every day. I think we had 1,200 extras on the beach one day; it was an incredible sight. And the flying scenes were pretty cool. We were up in the air, over the Channel, flying Spitfires, so that was great.”
Nolan – who helmed the hit ‘Dark Knight’ Batman trilogy – researched ‘Dunkirk’ by watching real life footage and reading records from the British-led rescue mission in 1940 in which 330,000 Allied troops were rescued from the clutches of the Nazis.
Speaking at the world premiere of the movie London’s Odeon on Leicester Square, the 46-year-old filmmaker said: “I was looking at a lot of firsthand accounts of people who were there. I want people to see it in the big screen and feel like what it was like on the beach or be in small boat. I wanted to make the film feel real. I watched archive footage of what it was like. It was about realism for me and staging it in front of a camera rather than green screen.”
The idea of realism and authenticity was something important for Nolan who even made Harry Styles change the way he tied his shoelaces as soldiers would have done it a specific way.
Styles said: “When I heard about Chris doing it I was kind of already excited to watch it to be honest and I just wanted to be involved … On my first day he told me my laces were tied wrong.”
Lowden stars alongside many well-known including Sir Kenneth Branagh and Sir Mark Rylance, others are Nolan regulars such as Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, as well as newcomers Fionn Whitehead and One Direction star Styles.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra pulls out of Suicide Squad 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Jaume Collet-Serra has pulled out of directing ‘Suicide Squad 2’.
‘The Shallows’ filmmaker was the frontrunner to helm the DC Extended Universe sequel but now Collet-Serra has signed up to direct ‘Jungle Cruise’ for Disney starring Dwayne Johnson, Deadline reports.
Warner Bros. Studios have been on the hunt for a director after David Ayer – who helmed the first movie – pulled out to focus on ‘Gotham City Sirens’.
Mel Gibson was previously linked with the vacant director’s chair, but was adamant it was all just speculation.
He said: “I don’t know. I just met some guys about story points. It’s not a done deal or anything, but it’s just fun to shoot the pool, you know, when it comes to stories. I love doing it. And if we can elevate any type of concept, it’s good. We’ll see.”
Other filmmakers in the running to helm the sequel included Jonathan Levine, Daniel Espinosa and Ruben Fleischer, who has since took over directing ‘Venom’ for Sony Pictures.
Joel Kinnaman admitted he “definitely” wants to return to the franchise as special forces operative Rick Flag, and confirmed work is currently underway on a script, with shooting expected to commence “sometime” in 2018.
Speaking back in June, he said: “As far as I know they’re writing the script and I think the plan is to shoot it sometime in 2018, but that could change. I think I’ll definitely come back for it.”
Though he hasn’t seen a plot for the film yet, Kinnaman, 37, knows what he’d like to see his character get up to in the sequel with the team of supervillains, which includes Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney).

Tom Holland responds to Kirsten Dunst’s Spider-Man criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland says Kirsten Dunst is entitled to criticise ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ but he doesn’t care if she sees the blockbuster.
Back in June, the 35-year-old actress – who played Mary Jane Watson in Sami Raimi’s trilogy between 2002 and 2007 – was dismissive of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures reboot of the character, which saw the webslinging superhero join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
New Spider-Man Holland has now responded to her comments claiming he “doesn’t care” if she sees the film or not as things have now moved on.
Speaking to Movie ‘n’ Co UK, the actor said: “You know, she’s entitled to her own opinion and I’m not one to judge at all. I definitely am not doing this movie for the money. I mean, it’s a job that I think anyone would do regardless of what you were getting paid, you know? All I know is I had the greatest time on this movie and I absolutely loved it and, you know, if she doesn’t want to go and see it, I don’t really care. I don’t dislike her in any way for what she said and she’s entitled to her opinion, so it’s all cool.”
The comments came after Dunst claimed her and Tobey Maguire’s films were the “best ones” and that Spider-Man is only still going on the big screen for financial reasons.
She told Marie Claire magazine: “We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, ‘You make it all you want.’ They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean? I don’t care. Everyone likes our Spider-Man. Come on, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”
Holland played the Marvel comic book legend in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ following Andrew Garfield’s two movie stint from 2012.
Following the success of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, both Marvel and Sony have announced a sequel is slated for a 2019 release.
Holland will be reprising his wall-crawling role in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

IT could have been Tilda Swinton for Pennywise

OHMYGOSSIP — Tilda Swinton was wanted to play Pennywise the Clown in the ‘IT’ remake.
The 56-year-old actress is said to have been wanted for the re-imagining of the hit Stephen King novel by producer Barbara Muschietti and her husband Andres, however, due to conflicting schedules Swinton wasn’t able to take on the role of the monstrous child killer.
Speaking to Joblo, Barbara said: “Tilda Swinton wasn’t available. No, no, I swear to God. She was not. We had a slot to shoot the movie and she wasn’t available so she didn’t even audition.
“But of course, we all thought about it.”
The new big screen version of Stephen King’s chilling novel about a child killer on the loose in an American town – which was turned into a 1990 TV mini-series starring Tim Curry as the terrifying Pennywise – is set to hit cinemas this September.
The role of Pennywise ultimately went to ‘Allegiant’ star Bill Skarsgard, 26, who was revealed to be so scary that he had to stay away from the child co-stars during the shoot.
Andres said: “Bill came in and blew our socks off. Because he was doing his very own interpretation of Pennywise, very erudite … very, very familiar with the novel and with Pennywise in the novel, which for us was a huge help. Because we went in the casting process with the book in mind. We read the novel when we were teens, we saw the miniseries much later in the game, so Tim Curry’s performance is extraordinary but that is not necessarily what we link to Pennywise immediately. For us, the Pennywise is the Pennywise in the book which is quite different. I think Bill went for that and he did an amazing, amazing performance and we gave him several tests. Again, because he’s a shape shifter, we wanted to make sure that he could play in different grades, right? And he did. He’s amazing.
“And what’s even more amazing is that he kept the character very unpredictable, and that’s what scares us the most, when you don’t know what way he’s going to go.”
‘IT’ follows a group of young children who are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against Pennywise in Derry, Maine, after multiple children go missing.
The brave kids mature into adulthood and are forced to revisit their horrors as one by one they encounter Pennywise again.
Muschietti has already revealed that a plan for a sequel is in the works.

John Cena joins Bumblebee

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena has joined the cast of ‘Bumblebee’.
The professional wrestler has landed a lead role in the ‘Transformers’ spin-off movie, which will focus on the yellow and black bot of the same name, and he will star alongside Hailee Steinfeld.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the forthcoming film has a new release date of December 21, 2018, which will see it go up against Warner Bros.’ ‘Aquaman’.
Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Jorge Lendeborg, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny are also set to star in the motion picture, which kicked off production on Monday (31.07.17).
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Michael Bay – who directed the last five ‘Transformers’ films – will produce the movie, along with executive producers Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner Mark Vahradian and Chris Brigham.
The motion picture will be written by Christina Hodson and directed by ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ filmmaker Travis Knight, which will be his live-action debut.
The film will be set in 1987 and sees Steinfeld play Charlie, a young woman preparing to turn 18 who finds Bumblebee battered and broken, but she soon discovers what it is capable of.
Di Bonaventura confirmed last week that the 20-year-old actress would play a major role in the motion picture.
He said: “We are starting to shoot a week from today. We had decided to do this well before ‘The Last Knight’ had come out.
“Our feeling was that we wanted to give the audience a different experience. Bumblebee’s designed to be a more intimate movie.
“What we’re trying to do is deliver, a love story may be too strong of a term, but it is a coming of age for Bumblebee and our lead character, Hailee Steinfeld.”

Ryan Reynolds praises ‘epic’ Cable in Deadpool 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds has insisted Cable will be “epic” in ‘Deadpool 2’.
The 40-year-old actor will reprise his role as Wade Wilson and his titular alter ego in the upcoming sequel to the popular Marvel movie, and has promised fans they won’t be disappointed by the introduction of the movie’s antagonist, who is played by Josh Brolin.
Speaking to Fandango, Ryan said: “I think it’s going to be very interesting. I’ve spent this last week on the business end of many Josh Brolin punches. Both verbal and physical and literal and it’s going to be pretty fantastic. He’s going to be epic. He’s going to be an epic Cable.”
Ryan’s high praise comes just after the movie’s director David Leitch said he “couldn’t be happier” with the casting of Josh, 49, whilst speaking at San Diego Comic-Con last month.
He said: “When he graciously agreed to do the role, Ryan and I were through the roof; we love him. He’s such a great actor, he brings a humanity to Cable, but he also has the depth of acting chops to hang with the comedy when needed. He’s bringing that character to life in the short 12 days we’ve been shooting and I couldn’t be happier.”
Meanwhile, T.J. Miller – who plays Deadpool’s best friend Weasel – teased that the second instalment won’t follow the “same [story] in a different location” and will instead involve “different stakes”.
He said: “It’s not going to be like ‘Hangover 2’, it’s not going to be the same movie in a different location, for instance. It’s got different stakes, different things happen, some pretty tragic, dark s**t happens in the first part of the film, in the beginning, and the rest of the film is kind of dealing with that, so that’s interesting. But Weasel remains just absolutely the most selfish individual on the face of the planet.”
And the star even believes ‘Deadpool 2’ could be “funnier” than the first instalment, as he laughed so hard when reading the script that he “dropped an iPad in a public restaurant”.
T.J. said: “This instalment is going to be more Weasel-icious than ever before. I was crying so hard laughing that I dropped an iPad in a public restaurant when I was reading the script.”

Alex Ferns to return to EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Ferns would “totally” reprise his role as evil Trevor Morgan in ‘EastEnders’.
The 48-year-old actor turned his back on the long-running soap over 15 years ago when his woman-abusing alter ego was killed in a fire but he has admitted he’d jump at the chance to make a return to Walford if his on-screen wife Kacey Ainsworth agreed to make a comeback as his vulnerable wife Little Mo, who accidentally started the blaze.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (01.08.17), he said: “I would never say never, I would totally do it but only if Kacey did it because we worked so well together.”
The star certainly had a hard time while he was working on the soap though as security were forced to escort him out of the studios when his domestic abuse storyline started to get really harrowing as someone was lingering outside and making death threats.
He explained: “I never watched it. At one stage, I remember the BBC security came to me and said ‘We can’t have you going out the front gate anymore because there’s a guy.’ And I said: ‘Well who’s the guy?’ And they went: ‘Well some guy who lives around, he’s made some threats against you.’
“They used to take me out the back and I was like: ‘Bring him back here and let me sort him out.’ We got so many strange letters. For me, I felt, as an actor I couldn’t read the letters because they were from people who were going through it. I didn’t know how to process it. It was very tricky but great time, I loved working with Kacey.”

Jodie Whittaker can’t keep secrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker is terrible at keeping secrets.
The 35-year-old actress must have found it impossible not to utter a peep about the biggest kept secret in TV history, that she is to become the first female Time Lord in ‘Doctor Who’, as she has confessed she struggles to keep tight-lipped at the best of times.
On keeping quiet on roles, she said:”I’m a c**p secret keeper, so there would be no way I could put myself in that position.”
Despite being bad at holding back information, the ‘Broadchurch’ star also had to remain silent during the press launch of new medical drama ‘Trust Me’ and not reveal details of her casting as Cath Hardacre, also known as Dr. Ally Sutton.
However, the hardest part of the role was learning how to say medical terms as she admits she even struggled with the elocution of the word medicine.
She told RadioTimes magazine: “The thing I struggled the most with and I think it comes from basically failing half my GCSEs and never doing A-Levels, is the pronunciation of medicine, even just as a simple word.
“With all the psychical stuff I could do, all the emotional stuff, I was kind of ‘been there before’ – I’ve played a few emotional characters.”
Jodie previously revealed she was given basic medical training for the role.
The blonde beauty was shown how to do resuscitation on a dummy and was given the opportunity to cannulate – a technique in which a thin tube is placed inside a vein to provide venous access – the show’s writer, Dan Sefton.
Asked if she was given medical training, she said: “Yes! The writer, Dan Sefton, who is also medical consultant and a doctor outside of TV production, showed us a load of stuff that he used when he was training people. He brought in the CPR dummy and showed us how to do a cannula and he, very bravely, let me put a cannula in his vein. I did it right, thank God! Also, YouTube is amazing. The genius of the internet is that you can basically sit at home and Google medical procedures, and TV shows such as 24 hours in A&E, which I watched hours of.”

Peter Kay won’t bring back Car Share

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Kay is adamant he’ll never bring back ‘Car Share’.
The sitcom became an instant fan favourite when it first hit television screens two years ago as viewers became fixated with the characters on John and Kayleigh (played by Peter and Sian Gibson, respectively) and how their relationship blossomed from travelling to and from work together, but the comedian insists, despite rumours, he’s not going to make a third instalment because he wants it to go to bed on a high.
Speaking to speaking to Jason Manford on his Sunday morning Absolute Radio show last weekend, he said: “It is lovely but I don’t know what to say. It is very flattering but I think if you have told a story you have told it, there is nothing else you can do.
“What people want and keeping that standard up is difficult so you don’t want people to say oh that went off. It is lovely that they would want it in theory, but you don’t want it to become contrived so you are better off just leaving things sometimes.”
The 44-year-old funny man even joked that people have been protesting outside his home with oil burners because they’re desperate for him to bring the show back.
He said with a laugh: “I am delighted but it is borderline aggression now. There are people outside my house with oil burners and placards now so I’m having my family threatened, it is like Argo. It is just telly.”
But, although he’s not planning to bring back ‘Car Share’, Peter recently revealed that he has a lot of “ideas” for another instalment of Phoenix Nights’ – another comedy written by Peter starring Paddy McGuinness, which ended in 2002.
He said: “I love ‘Phoenix Nights’ and I would love to go back. I’ve got a lot of ideas about ‘Phoenix Nights’. In fact there’s a whole series three been written for about 15 years but so many things get in the way in life like touring and being a father.
“Real life continues and ‘Car Share’ takes about a year to make and edit.”

Jenna Coleman: Female Doctor Who is ‘genius’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Coleman thinks Jodie Whittaker’s casting in ‘Doctor Who’ is “genius.”
The 31-year-old actress portrayed companion Clara Oswald in the sci-fi series from 2012 until 2015 and, although she’s no longer involved in the show, she “loves” the fact that bosses have decided to make history by choosing a female to play the Time Lord.
Speaking at a Television Critics Association panel in the US, according to the Metro newspaper, Jenna said of the new plans: “Oh I love it. I think it is genius. She’s a brilliant actress. It’s very exciting times. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor.”
But not everyone agrees with Jenna – who will make an appearance in the festive special this year when the time traveller regenerates – as some fans are struggling to get their heads around the idea of a woman taking over the keys to the TARDIS.
However, Jodie – who is known for her role in ‘Broadchurch’ – shouldn’t have a problem settling in, as Peter Capaldi has promised to give her all the help she needs.
He said recently: “David Tennant and Matt Smith have been fabulous to me, because some days things can become overpowering and who can I talk to, and those guys do talk to me. I hope I can do that with Jodie. I am always here to talk her through the madness.”
The 59-year-old actor has portrayed the Time Lord in the sci-fi series for the past four years, and is thrilled that Jodie has been chosen as his successor following his decision to walk away from the programme in order to spread his wings in another genre.
He explained: Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker’s work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm. She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor.”
