Reverend Richard Coles joins Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Reverend Richard Coles has become the fifth celebrity to join this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ line up.
The Church of England priest – who is now vicar of Finedon in Northamptonshire – has been confirmed for the forthcoming series of the ballroom and latin show, which kicks off this autumn, and has admitted he can’t wait to get stuck in to learning the routines – even though he struggles with pains in his knees.
He said: “Cometh the hour, cometh the overweight Vicar with arthritis in his knees.”
The news comes just a day after ‘Emmerdale’ actress Gemma Atkinson revealed she’d signed up to the programme but, rather than stressing over the fancy footwork, she was concerned about the costumes.
She said: “I dress like a 14-year-old boy in work, I am a trackies and converse kind of girl, but I have been wearing stilettos around my house. I don’t know how women do it all the time. I am not graceful, my mum says I’m like a baby elephant. I’m a big lass, I’m 5’9”. I’m going to challenge my inner feminine side. I will be graceful, once they give me a dancer, they are so big and strong and they are going to be amazing. I am going to embrace it, make the most of it, and enjoy it.”
The other celebrities on the line up so far include This Morning’s Ruth Lansgford, Mollie King and EastEnders’ Davood Ghadami but more are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.
Although some stars are yet to sign on the dotted line, one thing’s for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.
The forthcoming series will see legendary choreographer Shirley Ballas claim Len Goodman’s Head Judge seat following his shock departure at the end of last year and, although the fellow panelists – Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli – are excited to have her on board, they’re convinced she’ll stand her ground.

Charlie Hardwick couldn’t watch Emmerdale exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Hardwick couldn’t watch her dramatic exit from ‘Emmerdale’ for “ages.”
The 56-year-old actress starred as Val Pollard on the soap for 11 years before she was dramatically killed by a falling mirror in 2015 and she has revealed she couldn’t bring herself to replay the episode for a while afterwards because it was too “emotional”.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, the soap legend said: “That’s very emotional watching it actually – I couldn’t watch it for ages. Neither could my mam.
“We had to wait a while and watch it. I wanted to go though, it was my decision.”
Her on-screen character died saving her sister Dianne and called the emergency services to treat her sibling to ensure she survived.
The actress also revealed that the dramatic death took many times to perfect it after set creators built a mock guillotine.
She said: “They had to mock up this guillotine. They mocked it up, I had to lie in it, but it took so long the first night they had to call time.
“We tried twice but they had to schedule for the next day in a completely different location.
“They rebuilt the set, and put me under, but it wouldn’t work again so after three times I jumped up and said ‘it’s a reprieve! I’m not going to die!'”
Recently Charlie’s on-screen step-son Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, hinted Val could return as her body was never found.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine last year, Matthew said: “Charlie was brilliant. I think the whole show misses her, as ‘Emmerdale’ needs a character like Val.
“But have they really killed her off? Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard) says we never saw Val’s body – just a body being carried away.
“And Val was planning on faking her own death! We’ll see. But I learned so much from Charlie, she’s incredible. We share a love of art.”

Danielle Armstrong splits from Daniel Spiller

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Armstrong has split from her boyfriend Daniel Spiller.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star turned her back on the ITVBe show late last year after she struck up a relationship with the businessman because she thought it would be inappropriate, but it looks like the blonde bombshell may be back on screen sooner than expected as she and the hunk have decided to go their separate ways.
A rep for Danielle told The Sun Online: “I can confirm Danielle is no longer with Dan.”
The news will no doubt come as a shock to fans as the 28-year-old beauty admitted that the retired footballer, who she began dating the beginning of last year, played a “big part” in her decision to walk away from ‘TOWIE’ because her ex-boyfriend James ‘Lockie’ Lock was still involved in the show and she felt it would’ve been awkward.
She said previously: “A big part of it [her leaving] was because I’d met Dan. I thought, if I’m ever going to be able to make a go of any relationship, I’m going to have to take myself out of this situation. I really do wish James all the best and I hope he meets someone who’s perfect for him. If I saw him I’d probably say hi but I’m not going to give him any support or check how he’s getting on in the new series [of the ITVBe show].”
And, at the time, she said she wouldn’t return unless it’s a cameo appearance at her pals Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet’s engagement party.
She explained: “I don’t think I’d ever go back as a character. It was 100 per cent the right decision to leave. I would only go back if Tommy and Georgia got engaged and had a party or one of the girls had a baby shower.”

Benidorm to get the axe?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Benidorm’ may get the axe.
The resort sitcom has been on screens for over 10 years but it looks like bosses are now toying with the idea of pulling the plug on the comedy because viewer figures have started to plummet and some of the well-loved cast members have left for other things.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Some feel the show has done its time. It’s still popular but many of the old faces are long gone.
“There is a feeling it is going through the motions. Series 11 is yet to be commissioned and the concern is if it does take a break it might never come back.”
And John Challis, who plays conman Monty, thinks “mucking about” with the time slot has turned people off but he’s impressed with how well it’s done over the years.
The former ‘Only Fools and Horses’ star explained: “He said: “I think the show may take a year off for a pause and rethink. I think it’s ideal to come out in January or February, and I’m looking forward to it but there’s no guarantee.”
However, a representative for ITV insists no decision has been made about the next series of the programme yet and there may be an opportunity for it to be recommissioned.
The spokesperson told the publication: “The new series airs next year. Any decisions on commissioning will be made around then.”
Meanwhile, the cast are currently in Spain, filming series 10 of the comedy and it’s believed the next instalment will be better than ever as bosses have secured some exciting cameos – including Bobby Ball, who is one half of the comedy duo Cannon and Ball.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant had hoped to keep his appearance a secret until the show airs in 2018, but he was spotted filming in the Spanish resort by holidaymakers.
His character is said to be linked to the Dawson family.
The new series of the show will also see a guest appearance from former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, and programme bosses are keen to sign more big names up to mark a decade on screen.
A source said recently: “There are more names to come. We’re going all out to make this a series to remember.”

Paul Danan is physically restrained after fight with Sarah Harding

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Danan had to be physically restrained by his ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemates after he got into a blazing row with fellow competitor Sarah Harding this week.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who is a recovering drug and alcohol addict but has been clean for five years – unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade at the ex-Girls Aloud singer on Thursday (10.08.17), branding her a “f*****g d**k” and a “hypocrite” after she asked if he had had a drink and accused him of “taking a pill.”
The argument erupted when ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Brandi Glanville asked him how he was feeling as he frantically paced around the living room.
He replied: “I’m just trying to get through the non-alcohol thing. I’m just struggling.”
Brandi replied: “Well Sarah said you were taking a pill.”
Paul, 39, then stormed out into the garden towards Sarah and screeched: “Sarah don’t ever insinuate that I’m taking a pill! I’m taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.”
The blonde star panicked and told the actor to calm down.
But Paul hit back: “No, I’m not going to f*****g calm down. I’m the one that’s clean and sober what the f**k are you doing?”
After the pair started to raise their voices, ‘Gogglebox’ star Sandi pulled Paul away and he raced up to the diary room to talk through his issues.
Sarah, who also is a recovering alcoholic, came head to head with Paul after he previously mocked her for getting too drunk one evening.
And it’s not just Paul she’s come to blows with as the singer has also had numerous altercations with ‘Ex On The Beach’ star Jemma Lucy.

Mike Thalassitis for I’m A Celebrity?

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Thalassitis is in “early talks” about appearing on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’.
The ‘Love Island’ star is reportedly being considered for the ITV show despite bosses having previously considered ditching reality stars from their line up.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The show got a real ribbing for the amount of airtime Vicky and Ferne received in 2015. Both were great but there was a feeling some of the older contestants weren’t getting a chance to impress.
“But reality stars create more social media buzz and also attract younger viewers. Mike is having early talks but the fact he’s even being considered shows a real change of tack.”
Meanwhile, fellow ‘Love Island’ star Jonny Mitchell is also said to be in talks to do a stint in the jungle this year.
A source said: “Bosses said he would be the perfect hunk for the show and have asked him to come for a meeting. Obviously he’s over the moon and would jump at the chance.
“He sparked controversy in the villa and if he did the same in the jungle it’d make excellent telly viewing – especially if there was a romance.”
And former England rugby union star Ben Cohen is another name said to be in the mix after he showed how “popular” he is with viewers on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ back in 2013.
A source said: “Ben’s name was straight on the list for this year. He is popular with viewers, as his ‘Strictly’ stint showed, and appeals to sports fans. He’s also a gay icon so he ticks a lot of boxes. It looks like the producers might get their man.”

Danniella Westbrook is engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook is engaged to her boyfriend Alan Thomason after just a few weeks of dating.
The 43-year-old actress is poised to marry her 34-year-old lover following a whirlwind romance after she was recently pictured showing off her engagement ring during a vacation in Spain.
The loved-up duo were seen kissing and cuddling in the sun during their holiday and Danniella was happy to pose for a selfie posted on her Twitter account on Thursday (10.08.17).
Alongside a snap of herself wearing a bikini, Danniella wrote: “Sorry for my absence from social media but love does that to a girl but I’m back and happiest I’ve ever been in my life (sic)”
And following reports of their engagement, Danniella later returned to the social media platform to confirm the couple’s happy news.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star wrote: “For the record his Alan Thomason his 34 &he completes me (sic)”
In May, Danniella opened a bar in Marbella, Spain – despite being a recovering alcoholic.
The actress – who returned to taking cocaine after suffering a miscarriage in 2016 – admitted she still has a drink from time to time.
However, she doesn’t see having her own boozer as a problem because she will be working from “the other side of the bar”.
Asked whether her life is easier when she’s overseas, Danniella replied: “We are creatures of habit like animals, we need structure in our life. I’ve just opened a bar with a friend of mine in Spain.
“I am better on the other side of the bar, I am a people person. I’m known for nightlife and DJing anyway in Ibiza. I can’t just stop my life.”

Paul Hollywood found filming ‘hard’ without Mary Berry

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood found it “hard” filming ‘Great British Bake Off’ without Mary Berry and Mel & Sue.
The 51-year-old baker was the only member of the team to stay with the show when it moved from the BBC to Channel 4, and though he “misses” his former co-stars, he has quickly settled in to working with new co-judge Prue Leith and presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
He said: “I have missed Mary, Mel and Sue, and when I started filming the new ‘Bake Off’ it was hard. But I had tears rolling down my face because of how funny Noel and Sandi are, so I wasn’t really that sad in the end.”
And Paul admits he was upset by those who criticised his decision to stay with the show, and insisted being branded a “traitor” was unfair.
He said: “It has been hard because I was called a traitor over my decision to leave the BBC to go to Channel 4. There was an uproar when Love Productions turned down the BBC’s offer to continue with it and sold the format to Channel 4.
“But I’ve just had a motoring series [‘My Big Continental Trip’] on the BBC, so what is it that I’m actually a traitor to as I’m still with the channel!
“The other three left for whatever reason but I didn’t want to lose my job. The show found me and I didn’t want to turn my back on them.”
Despite his reputation for being tough on the ‘Bake Off’ contestants, Paul insists he’s just being “constructive” and his remarks shouldn’t be taken personally.
He told Closer magazine: “I’m not having a go at them, I’m having a go at the bake.
“I’m not being horrible, it’s constructive.
“They can disagree with me – they’re wrong, but they can disagree with me.”

Jennifer Lawrence: Passengers wasn’t a failure

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lawrence says ‘Passengers’ “wasn’t a failure”.
The 26-year-old starred as Aurora alongside Chris Pratt in the 2016 sci-fi rom-com and despite the negative reviews it received, the ‘Hunger Games’ star thought it had a “beautiful” script.
Speaking to Vogue magazine, the blonde beauty said: “I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t spot it.
“I thought the script was beautiful – it was this tainted, complicated love story. It definitely wasn’t a failure.
“I’m not embarrassed by it by any means. There was just stuff that I wished I’d looked into deeper before jumping on.”
The film followed Aurora and Jim [Pratt] as they travelled through space to a new home and were awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions.
Aurora and Jim have to face living with each other for the rest of their lives on board the ship and when the lives of the other 5,000 passengers becomes at risk, the two must try and save them all.
In April, Lawrence’s ‘Passengers’ co-star admitted he found the response to the film surprising and “caught him off guard”.
Pratt said: “Yeah, it did, it really did. I was really caught off guard by that. It was definitely a lesson.
“I personally think the movie is very good, I’m very proud of it. I’ll be curious to see if it holds up – the criticism and the movie.
“I’m proud of how the movie turned out and it did just fine to make money back for the studio.”
Despite the backlash, the movie grossed almost $300 million worldwide on a budget of $110 million and received two Academy Award nominations for original score and production design.

Vin Diesel to star in Fast and Furious live show

OHMYGOSSIP — Vin Diesel is working on a live-action ‘Fast and Furious’ show.
The 50-year-old actor has starred as Dominic Toretto in all eight movies in the blockbuster action franchise and excited about the production, which set to start touring arenas around the world in January next year.
Speaking on Facebook Live, Diesel said: “As you know, my work with ‘Fast and Furious’ never ends.
“Now, I am in New York City, believe it or not. Filming something that is going to be state of the art. A live show.
“It will be, I think, first going to be in the O2 Arena, in London and the all over the world. I am really excited about it.
“You get to see the action first hand. This is the first time it’s ever been done. We like being innovators.
“We are in the middle of shooting it now.
“One of the coolest things about being in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise is being able to bring it to New York City. I’m right in the middle of filming.”
The stage show will recreate the underground streets of Los Angeles to each different location.
Meanwhile, a ninth movie is already in the works with both Diesel and on and off-screen rival Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 44, set to return.
The ‘San Andreas’ star is set to reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in the next instalment and despite claims him and his co-star Diesel clashed on set they are both believed to be “1000 per cent” up for a follow up in the future.
In the latest thriller film ‘Fate of the Furious’, Hobbs rejects the offer to have his position as Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) back and instead decides to be more committed to his parenting duties by spending more time with his on-screen daughter, which left the audience questioning whether the muscular hunk’s character would make a return again.

Jessica Biel wants A Team sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Biel would be up for a sequel of ‘The A-Team’.
The 35-year-old actress starred as Lieutenant Sosa in the 2010 movie based around the popular 80s TV series and a few years ago there was talk of a follow-up – but it’s yet to come to fruition.
Speaking at during a Reddit AMA, Biel said: “I think there was probably talk of a sequel and yes I had a lot of fun working on that show with all those guys.
“Would’ve absolutely loved being part of that cast with those guys, and yes, they were all really funny as well.”
The brunette beauty stared alongside Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley and Quinton Jackson in the film by Joe Carnahan.
The ‘Sinner’ star – who has two-year-old son Silas with her singer husband Justin Timberlake – also admitted to being a big fan of working with comedy actors like Adam Sandler and Kevin James.
She said: “Adam Sandler and his crew were pretty amazing to work with. Adam and Kevin James and their whole crew are hilarious to work with.
“Working with them is almost impossible because they’re so clever and on their feet at all times and you’re laughing and cracking up during every take.
“It’s so much fun. They make comedy look easy, but it’s not. It’s way harder than anyone thinks.”
Meanwhile, Biel also starred with Jake Gyllenhaal in the 2015 romantic comedy ‘Accidental Love’, but claims the film was released with a different title and was “unfinished”.
She said: “That film ended up getting released under the title ‘Accidental Love’. The production kept getting shut down due to financial issues and actually we never finished the film.
“We got shut down before shooting the last scene and it was until years later when someone bought the film and recut it without that scene. In my mind, unfinished because we never shot the last scene.”

Noomi Rapace says no Girl With The Dragon Tattoo return

OHMYGOSSIP — Noomi Rapace has no desire to return to ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ franchise.
The 37-year-old actress kicked off the franchise as Lisbeth Salander in a trilogy of movies which were filmed in late author Steig Larsson’s native language of Swedish, but though new novels are being written by David Lagercrantz, Rapace insists she is done with the franchise.
Speaking to Den of Geek about a possible return, the actress said: “No. I’m done. With everything I’ve done, when I’m done, I’m done.
“I move on and I don’t like to repeat myself.
“You know, when I did Steig Larsson, I did the books he wrote himself. I was very close to it, and it took a big chunk out of my life and my heart.
“I lived that character for a couple of years and when I left her, it was kind of traumatic. I was puking and for two weeks; I was walking around like a zombie, feeling caught between Lisbeth Salander and Noomi.
“So when I left her, I left her for good.”
An English remake was made, which starred Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, but there has currently only been one film made in the trilogy.
Mara, 32, who also starred as Lisbeth Salander in the David Fincher-helmed movie, also revealed she doesn’t want to return to the franchise.
In the first title, Salander wreaked revenge on her legal guardian who sexually assaulted her and teamed up with journalist Mikael Blomkvist – played by Craig – to investigate the murder of a young girl but stumbled across a family’s dark secrets.
Sony has decided against making the second and third book in the series, titled ‘The Girl Who Played with Fire’ and ‘The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest’, and has jumped forward to the fourth novel instead titled ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’, with Fede Alvarez being eyed to direct
The next movie is slated to be in cinemas next year.

Tim Miller to direct Neuromancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Miller is to direct ‘Neuromancer’.
The ‘Deadpool’ filmmaker will helm the motion picture, which will be based on the cyberpunk novel of the same name by William Gibson, and Simon Kinberg will produce the project.
According to Deadline, Fox are on the lookout for a writer to adapt the story for the big screen.
The book – the first in the Sprawl trilogy – tells the story of a computer hacker who is enlisted by a mystery employer to perform the ultimate hack.
James Cameron and Miller are currently working on resurrecting ‘The Terminator’ film franchise, and several writers are said to be in talks about where to take the motion picture next.
Miller was due to direct ‘Deadpool 2’ but reportedly dropped out of the project amid “creative differences” with lead star and producer Ryan Reynolds.
‘John Wick’ filmmaker David Leitch will now direct the upcoming sci-fi sequel and he is said to have beaten off competition from the likes of Drew Goddard, Rupert Sanders and Magnus Martens.
The film will be scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the first movie.
T.J. Miller – who plays Deadpool’s best friend Weasel – recently revealed the second film won’t follow the “same [story] in a different location” and will instead involve “different stakes”.
He said: “It’s not going to be like ‘Hangover 2’, it’s not going to be the same movie in a different location, for instance. It’s got different stakes, different things happen, some pretty tragic, dark s**t happens in the first part of the film, in the beginning, and the rest of the film is kind of dealing with that, so that’s interesting. But Weasel remains just absolutely the most selfish individual on the face of the planet.”

Riz Ahmed in talks for Venom

OHMYGOSSIP — Riz Ahmed is in talks to star in ‘Venom’.
The 34-year-old actor looks set to star alongside Tom Hardy in the hotly-anticipated Sony motion picture, a spin-off of the Spider-Man franchise.
Sources told Variety that Ahmed will play a popular Marvel Comics character should his early discussions go well.
Sony hasn’t commented on the speculation, and the company has previously insisted ‘Venom’ will not be a part of the Spider-Man film franchise, but will instead be seen as a standalone movie.
Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach will produce the film from a script written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner and Amy Pascal.
The character Venom was previously portrayed by Topher Grace in May 2007 movie ‘Spider-Man 3’, which featured Tobey Maguire as the titular superhero.
Villain Venom appears in the Marvel Comics and is also known as Eddie Brock, a freelance photographer when Spider-Man first appears in New York.
Ahmed is one of the most in-demand actors around at the moment after starring in sci-fi blockbuster ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, drama ‘City of Tiny Lights’ and ‘Una’, which is based on the play ‘Blackbird’ by David Harrower.
What’s more, he appeared in ‘Jason Bourne’ opposite Matt Damon, and recently credited his role as an assistant to Jake Gyllenhaal’s unscrupulous news videographer in 2014’s ‘Nightcrawler’ for showing the world what he is capable of.
He said: “I don’t think anyone wants to be reduced to their skin colour, their height or their bra size. People want to be seen as people.”
Ahmed also admitted it was a “new experience” having so much attention after starring as Bodhi Rook in ‘Rogue One’.
“It’s certainly a new experience for me – to have so much out around the same time. And for it to be seen by so many people because of the scale of some of those projects. I’m more used to having an indie film out every two years.”

The Crown S2 to return in December

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Crown’ will return to screens on December 8.
The second instalment of the period drama, which is based on the lives of the royal family, will drop on Netflix in four months’ time as Claire Foy and Matt Smith reprise their roles as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, but this time around it will delve more into their personal lives as they welcome their sons Princes Andrew and Edward.
Speaking to EW.com, Claire said: “I think [Queen Elizabeth] starts to realize she needs to pay more attention to her personal life now that the other part of her life is going all right. The world’s changing faster than anyone can catch up with.
“There is no letup. She just keeps having to go from one crisis to another to another, and at some point, it’s about five crises at the same time and you have no idea how she manages to get up in the morning.”
The first series saw Queen Elizabeth settle into her role as the monarch, but Claire has teased that things will get complicated for her alter ego over the next instalment.
She explained: “She’s neglected her personal life, so there are all sorts of things she has to sort out. As politics change around them and as they become older, there are huge changes that take place in them as human beings. But to talk about [specifics] would give things away. You will have to watch!”

Chloe Khan can’t breathe after botched nose job

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Khan has claimed she can’t breathe out of her nose due to a botched operation.
The glamour model, who was a contestant on last year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, has spent thousands of pounds of cosmetic surgery to alter her snout, but now regrets it as the op, carried out by a surgeon in the Ukraine, was a complete “disaster”.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (10.08.17), she said: “This is the best it’s going to look, as it’s still the morning. But it starts swelling and getting wider throughout the day, so I have to use a roll of medical tape on it.
“I can’t breathe, I wake up with nosebleeds, I can’t smell perfume or anything.
“I really hate having surgery, I don’t actually like it but I will have to get it fixed. I will have to wait until January for correction, so the nose is at its strongest.”
Chloe found the surgeon using the photo-sharing site Instagram and during the surgery, the model claims the doctor didn’t use enough anaesthetic and she woke up.
Fearing she wouldn’t make a full recovery, the model reportedly penned a goodbye letter on her phone for her daughter, Destiny.
Speaking to the new issue of Closer magazine, she recalled: “About a day after I got back, I remember collapsing on my kitchen floor and lying there for two days.
“I just couldn’t move – I felt so ill and I wrote a goodbye note on my phone to my daughter. I rang the doctors and they took me to hospital, where they flushed me with antibiotics.”
Despite the botched-up job, the model admitted she hasn’t ruled out any more surgery.
She said: “I’m not ruling it out but I don’t fancy anything at the minute.”
