David Tennant: Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who gender will be irrelevant

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant says the new Doctor Who’s gender will be “irrelevant almost immediately”.
The 46-year-old actor – who portrayed the 10th Time Lord from 2005 until 2010 – is adamant that fans of the popular BBC sci-fi series will soon forget Jodie Whittaker’s sex as soon as she hits the small screen as the first female to ever portray the alien.
Speaking to Stephen Colbert on ‘The Late Show’ on Wednesday (09.08.17), David said: ‘”Sure, Jodie is from a different gender than anyone who’s gone before, but that will be irrelevant almost immediately when she takes the part.
“The Doctor can be whatever he needs to be. It’s about finding the right performer at the right time – and that’s Jodie without a doubt.”
David, who starred alongside Jodie in ITV’s ‘Broadchurch’, says the ‘Doctor Who’ fans can get defensive about the character because they love the show so much.
He said: “Do you know, whenever the Doctor changes there’s a backlash, because that’s a character people love.
“So people get very affectionate about the Doctor they knew.”
The Scottish hunk says that even when he took over from Christopher Eccleston in 2005 he received similar backlash to Jodie ,35, because viewers get over “enthusiastic” and he said a lot of people thought he was too “weaselly-looking” to take on such an iconic role.
Asked if he too experienced such a big divide in opinion of the job, he said: “Oh, sure! They were like ‘Who’s the weaselly-looking guy? Who’s this? I like the last guy. “This is not gonna work for me – this show is dead to me. I resign from the internet. Send!
“There was a lot of that. And that happens every time, and that’s because it’s a show that has a lot on enthusiastic followers.”
David previously heaped praise on Jodie’s new role as the time traveller, hailing her a “strong female lead”.

Marcel Somerville to release solo single

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ hunk Marcel Somerville is releasing a solo single on Friday (11.08.17).
The Blazin’ Squad hunk – who was a finalist in this year’s show alongside his girlfriend Gabby Allen – has only just agreed to reform with the boy band, but it looks like he’s also trying to give his own singing career a go as he’s set to drop a song this week.
Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: “#announcementNo.2 I will be releasing my debut single ‘Someone’ this Friday on ITunes!
“Check out my Instagram tomorrow for an exclusive! (sic)”
Marcel recently found fame again on ‘Love Island’ and has said there is a possibility that Blazin’ Squad, who disbanded in 2009, will release new material this year.
The 31-year-old rapper was just 16 when he shot into the limelight with the group and he wanted to reform with the group for his fans.
Marcel said: “I wanted to do something with the boys, because I came out of ‘Love Island’ and there was loads of love and a lot of the fans were supporting me in there.
“I wanted to do something for them.”
Previously, although the group have been talking about making a comeback, the hunk – who was known as Rocky B Plat’num during the band’s heyday – was unsure if he’ll rejoin them completely as he wants to see what comes from his ‘Love Island’ success.
He explained: “I haven’t agreed to anything yet but I probably will turn up. A few of the boys came to the airport when we arrived back from Majorca.
“They were like, ‘Marce, there’s so much stuff on the table man’. I was like, ‘Alright – let me see this stuff first and we will go from there.’ ”
And Marcel believes one reason he never went off the rails is because the band were surrounded by a good team.

Sarah Harding, Karthik Nagesan, Trisha Paytas and Chad Johnson up for CBB eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Harding, Karthik Nagesan, Trisha Paytas and Chad Johnson are up for eviction from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house this week.
The former Girls Aloud singer, the ex-‘Apprentice’ star, the YouTuber and ‘The Bachelorette’ hunk have been nominated to face the boot in Friday’s (11.08.17) live show.
The foursome – who were all up for eviction last week alongside Marissa Jade, who was ultimately given the chop on Tuesday (08.08.17) – were understandably disappointed when Big Brother read out their names but, rather than kick up, they sat quietly and sulked.
Although her fate is in the public’s hands, Sarah, 35, has quickly become a fan favourite after she locked horns with her fellow housemate Jemma Lucy earlier this week.
The row erupted between the pair after Jordan Davies confronted the Sarah over what she meant when she previously said there was a divide in the house.
Sarah attempted to clarify her statement by claiming that, she thinks, there are three different groups in the house – the loud, the quiet and the ones in the middle.
However, the ‘Ex On The Beach’ star was clearly brewing for an argument as she butted in, despite not being involved in the row, and hit back: “No one’s been around loads of people though Sarah, you keep thinking you’re different to everyone else.”
Jordan, who initially wanted a quiet conversation, stormed off shouting no one is letting him “f**king talk” and Sarah chimed in saying: “It’s because you’re too busy talking, Jem.”
Jemma, who has been friends with Jordan for three years, replied: “Oh f**k off you little bitch, man. As if I’m too busy speaking. You’re so f**king negative, right? Jordan’s my friend – let me speak!”
Sarah then asked why Jemma is “diving in” the argument before calling her a “****”.
The reality TV star snapped back: “Aw, now the pretty girl comes out with a naughty word, I thought you were a sweet and innocent girl!”
Sarah then said: “What’s the matter with you? I am when I haven’t got rotten people around me like you. You’re a two-faced little bitch.”

Sam Faiers

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Faiers wants “more” children.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star is currently six months pregnant with her second child but has admitted she’d love to add to her brood shortly after the little one is born because she and her beau Paul Knightley want a big family.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (10.08.17), she said: “I want more. I think I’ll have a bit more of a gap after this baby. And then when they’re both at school, free up a bit of time and get your life back … He [Paul] wants a big family too.”
The 26-year-old beauty has decided not to find out the sex of her second child but has admitted she’d quite like a little boy to give her 20-month-old son Paul a brother.
She explained: “I think it would be lovely to have a little boy because they’re brothers and they would grow up together but equally I’d like a little girl because I’d feel blessed that I’ve got one of each.”
Sam and her partner have agreed to let the cameras back into their lives next month to document their journey in the run up to the birth while managing a toddler.
She said: “We start filming next month and the show’s out early next year. It’ll be there birth – not the actual birth – and everything leading up to it and then after.”
And, although she’s always wanted children, she has admitted nothing could prepare her for the moment she became a mother because of the unconditional love she has.
She added: “I’m really laid back and I’d say I’m a really laid-back mum too, so I kind of took it in my stride. Nothing can prepare you.
“My sister, when she first had Nellie, I was round there every day so I was kind of prepared but actually when you have your own, nothing can prepare you.”

Beverley Callard collapsed at work

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverley Callard collapsed on the set of ‘Coronation Street’ last year.
The 60-year-old actress – who is known for playing Liz McDonald in the long-running soap – was signed off work at the beginning of 2016 after she sunk into deep depression but, although she knew there was a problem long before she sought help, it was an episode while she was filming that prompted her to seek professional advice.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (10.08.17), she said: “I pushed myself too far rather than going to the GP immediately.
“I knew I wasn’t myself but, over 18 months it was slowly getting worse and then I collapsed at work. I’d done every scene all day and then collapsed when I finished.”
The blonde star’s breakdown also lead to her pulling out of two jobs and she has admitted that has now wreaked havoc for her future because they’ll never employ her.
She explained: “Those companies will now never employ me. There’s a tendency to think you’re flaky and unreliable, but it’s actually the opposite. People who are ill, we’re people-pleasers, and actually you put yourself under such pressure you let yourself down. Someone once said it’s just like having a broken leg, in that you can make it better once you get the right treatment. But the difference is with mental illness or clinical depression that each treatment is individual.”
Beverley has battled with depression for the majority of her life but, following her crippling breakdown, her new psychiatrist is convinced she also has bipolar.
She said recently: “My psychiatrist at present, he is convinced that I am bipolar too. He is convinced of it. The way he explained it to me is that I don’t get these amazing highs or hallucinations. But I get the tremendous lows. I don’t get the good bits I get the bad bits. But now I am much more even and relaxed.”

Marcel Somerville says Gabby Allen is the one

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Marcel Somerville thinks Gabby Allen is “the one”.
The pair got together on the ITV2 show in June and instantly became fan favourites but, despite only coming fourth in the final episode of the series, the Blazin’ Squad hunk is sure he has found a keeper.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I definitely feel like she’s the one, yeah.”
Inside the famous villa in Mallorca, Spain, the two resisted the temptation to have sex with each other, unlike many other of the couples, and Marcel said it was the best thing they have done but said it’s too early for marriage talks.
He said: “It was worth the wait. It’s quite early in the relationship.”
The couple raised eyebrows over the authenticity of their romance while they were inside the villa last month as they were the only pair not to have sex, but it seems things are picking up between them now as they are looking forward to spending time with one another away from the cameras and in their own abode.
He said recently: “We’re going to make normal life a bit more normal. Gabby and I are talking about moving in together and doing all the things that come down the line.”
And it seems the blonde beauty has already developed a protective streak for her man as she was forced to “name and shame” a number of online bullies last week on Snapchat after she read some vicious racial slurs regarding their relationship.
She explained: “I just couldn’t believe in this day and age that we were going to come out to that response and I’ve grown up in multicultural cities and grown up with different people and never been in the brunt of it, so to have to deal with that and so publicly, it’s just so awful and I can’t believe that’s going on. I think it’s because we don’t hear about it so much anymore because it’s hidden but it does still go on. There are some idiotic people in the world and they should be ashamed.”

Gemma Atkinson dresses like a 14-year-old boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson usually dresses like a “14-year-old boy.”
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress has just been announced as the fourth celebrity to take part in the forthcoming series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but she has admitted it’s not just the routines she’s worried about as she’s terrified of the skimpy outfits she’ll have to wear.
Speaking on Key 103 Breakfast, she said: “I dress like a 14-year-old boy in work, I am a trackies and converse kind of girl, but I have been wearing stilettos around my house. I don’t know how women do it all the time. I am not graceful, my mum says I’m like a baby elephant. I’m a big lass, I’m 5’9”. I’m going to challenge my inner feminine side. I will be graceful, once they give me a dancer, they are so big and strong and they are going to be amazing. I am going to embrace it, make the most of it, and enjoy it.”
Despite being thrown out of the comfort zone, the 32-year-old star is prepared to give it her all because she doesn’t to look back on the experience and regret anything.
She explained: “With anything, a job or new venture, if you don’t give it 100 per cent you can’t expect 100 per cent out of it. I don’t want to look back at Christmas and think I wish I would have done better or I could have more. It’s going to be gruelling, it’s going to be tiring, but its only 3 months so I’m going to make the most of it. Hopefully my gym sessions will pay off with my fitness levels. Fingers crossed I should be okay.”
And, although she’d love to win, she’s just hoping not to get the boot in the first week.
She added: “My aim it’s just to not go out first, I would love to get to the final, absolutely. For me, learning to dance itself is a milestone. So if I come away from the experience being able to say I can dance, then that in itself is great.”

Sarah Harding threatens to quit Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Harding has threatened to quit ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The former Girls Aloud singer was left questioning whether to walk out of the infamous house in last night’s (09.08.17) episode after she came to blows with Jemma Lucy, in which the pair dished out some very personal insults.
Speaking in the diary room, Sarah said: “Is it really worth breaking me down again? I can’t take much more of this … I didn’t want to come here for this.”
The 35-year-old star saw red after the reality TV beauty accused her of doing a “f**k load of drugs” and claiming her nose looks like it’s had “too much gear up it.”
And the remarks unsurprisingly hit a nerve as Sarah checked into rehab in 2011 in South Africa for alcohol and depression following her split from DJ Tom Crane.
She later revealed she had an addiction to sleeping pills following the ordeal, but there’s nothing to suggest she has ever dabbled in illegal substances.

Jonny Mitchell to do I’m A Celeb

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonny Mitchell is in talks to do this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The unlucky-in-love hunk took part in the latest instalment of ‘Love Island’ and caused a stir when he dumped Prince Harry’s ex Camilla Thurlow for the new girl Tyla Carr, and it looks like bosses are keen for him to cause every more drama as they’re hoping he’ll agree to jet Down Under and compete in the creepy-crawly show later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bosses said he would be the perfect hunk for the show and have asked him to come for a meeting.
“Obviously he’s over the moon and would jump at the chance.
“He sparked controversy in the villa and if he did the same in the jungle it’d make excellent telly viewing – especially if there was a romance.”
And if the 26-year-old heartthrob does accept the offer for the show, which is hosted by Ant and Dec, it will make him the first islander to ever enter the jungle.
Meanwhile, Jonny hit the headlines earlier this week when it was revealed he had hooked up with a pair of glamorous reality TV babes shortly after he left the famous villa in Mallorca, Spain, and touched back down in London, England.
A source said previously: “Jonny’s night with the girls was sizzling hot.
“He’d only just come out of the villa on the show and landed back in the UK but was inundated with female attention, so what’s a young good-looking guy like him to do?”
But the news hasn’t gone down too well with his ex-girlfriend Chyna Ellis – who he met in the villa in June – as his threesome came just days after he dumped her live on air.

Aaron Sidwell ‘set to quit EastEnders’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ actor Aaron Sidwell is reportedly quitting the soap to return to the West End.
The 28-year-old star – who plays the part of Steven Beale, who’s falsely claimed to have a brain tumour to convince Lauren Branning to marry him – has told show bosses of his intention to leave, with Aaron eyeing a return to the stage in the coming months.
A source said: “Obviously this storyline has caused a lot of controversy.
“Things are coming to a head on screen, but it’s going to be the end of Aaron’s time on the show.”
The actor has already received offers to return to London’s West End, with an insider admitting he “loves working in theatre”.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “He’s got offers of parts in the West End and a tour of the musical ‘Wicked’, and he loves working in theatre, so that’s on the agenda.
“The outcome of the storyline is being kept under wraps. He’s sworn to secrecy and so is everyone else in the cast and crew.”
This comes shortly after it was reported that new ‘EastEnders’ boss John Yorke has lifted a ban on the show’s cast appearing in pantomimes.
Soap stars have historically turned to money-spinning productions as a means of boosting their earnings and John has decided to lift the ban on the ‘EastEnders’ cast accepting such roles in a bid to improve the overall mood on set.
A source said: “John has made it his mission to meet with disgruntled stars and find out what has gone wrong. He had a mountain to climb with some of them – but he’s really had an effect and people are already much happier.
“His aim was to get some of the big names back onside and secure their futures – and his plan is working.”

Gemma Atkinson confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson has been confirmed for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star has become the fourth celebrity to sign up to the next series of the ballroom and latin show and has admitted she can’t wait to get stuck in.
She said: “I am honoured to be asked and so thrilled to be joining ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2017! I’m beyond excited and incredibly nervous but I am looking forward to learning a new skill in ballroom and latin dancing and taking on this new challenge.”
Gemma’s signing comes just a day after This Morning’s Ruth Langsford revealed that she had been approached to take part in the show and is looking forward to slipping on her dancing shoes as she’s been wanting to do the programme for years now.
She said: “I have dreamt about doing Strictly for so long, I can’t quite believe my dream has come true! The sum of my dance experience is throwing a few shapes at a party, I’ve never had a dance lesson in my life.
“Without doubt it will be the scariest yet most exciting thing I’ve ever done. It’ll be a welcome change worrying about my next hot move instead of my next hot flush!”
Davood Ghadami and Mollie King have also agreed to wiggle their hips for this year’s series and are equally excited but nervous about the challenge ahead.
Bosses are planning to release the line up in dribs and drabs over the next few weeks as it’s believed they’ve “almost” secured all of the celebrity stars they want this year.
Although some stars are yet to sign on the dotted line, one thing’s for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.
The forthcoming series will see legendary choreographer Shirley Ballas claim Len Goodman’s Head Judge seat following his shock departure at the end of last year and, although the fellow panelists – Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli – are excited to have her on board, they’re convinced she’ll stand her ground.

Binky Felstead doesn’t have time to cook

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead doesn’t have time to cook now she’s a mother.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star and her boyfriend Josh ‘JP’ Patterson welcomed daughter India into the world seven weeks ago, and the 27-year-old beauty is grateful she’s found a delivery company which keeps her supplied with healthy food so she can take the first steps towards getting her pre-pregnancy figure back.
She said: “I haven’t started training but I have food delivered each morning – Fresh Fitness Food.
“I don’t have time to cook at the moment. Also I can’t be bothered, so that’s really useful.
“Training begins next week and I’m looking forward to getting my body back so I can start wearing tighter clothes again.”
However, Binky insists she isn’t uncomfortable with her body at the moment because she knows any “wobbly bits” she still has will be gone soon.
She said: “I’m very happy and proud of my body. I’ve just had a baby so I’m not 100 per cent back to normal, but I’m not bothered about my wobbly bits – they’ll go when I start working out again. I’m still very much focused on comfort – it’s only been seven weeks.
“I’m easing back into things slowly. I’ve had almost two months off, but I’ll be getting back into it next week.”
One of the reasons why Binky is looking forward to getting back to the gym is the chance to get some time alone for a few hours.
She told LOOK magazine: “It’s nice to get out of the house for a few hours when India is sleeping. It’s good for my head. Now that she’s a bit older, I don’t mind leaving her with her granny for a bit longer – she’s the most loved baby ever.”

Stephanie Davis suffers a stress-induced miscarriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has suffered a miscarriage.
The 24-year-old actress, who has recently been locked in a court battle with her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell, has confirmed she suffered a stress-induced miscarriage two weeks ago, with Stephanie admitting she’s heartbroken by the news.
In a lengthy message on Instagram, the former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress wrote: “Too loose a child is something I hope no one EVER goes through. The grief and pain is UNBELIEVABLE . Words CANNOT describe. My heart is BROKEN. (sic)”
Stephanie subsequently claimed Jeremy – who was recently found guilty of assaulting her following a blazing row at her home in Liverpool on March 10 – is responsible for her miscarriage.
The TV star also blasted her ex-boyfriend’s attitude towards their eight-month-old son Caben-Albi.
She continued: “I lost my baby due to the stress Jeremy put me under, history repeating its self after carrying caben alone for 9 months while he goes out with women and partying and posting pictures on purpose when I was in hospital and nearly lost caben on several occasions. (sic)”
Stephanie – who started dating Jeremy in 2016 after they appeared together on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ – also accused the reality TV star of ruining her life, saying he hasn’t taken any responsibility for Caben-Albi.
Stephanie wrote: “Evil. He ruined my life and killed our child!and for that I can never forgive him!! He knew I was pregnant and has never ONCE again asked about his unborn child OR asked how caben is, he’s been to busy out on benders and spending money on drink and drugs and getting women to lick his nipples. He’s not paid ANYTHING towards caben since he was born. He doesn’t care about his child, he was simply a trophy child to him. He was found guilty, for a reason. (sic)”
Despite her heartbreak, Stephanie said she hopes her story can help domestic violence victims, adding that there is “light at the end”.
She said: “I hope to help women of domestic violence, to stop what happened to me to other women. I would like to Grieve for my child, find strength and move on. I walked into that court with my head held high after he laughed and goaded me, and I continue to be strong, be a good mum to my son and if ANYTHING has come from my horrific ordeal, to help those who have been in my shoes and help give them the hope, that there is light at the end. I don’t know HOW I’m standing, but I am. And what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! (sic)”

Donald Glover feels like child in divorce after switch of director

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Glover feels like “a child in divorce” after the change of director on the Han Solo movie.
The 33-year-old actor is currently filming for the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off but recently Ron Howard took over the project after Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the movie over creative differences, and Glover – who plays Lando Calrissian opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the lead role – admitted the change has added pressure to his performance because he worries he isn’t the new helmsman’s ideal choice for the part.
He told the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter: “Ron Howard is such a legend, and he knows exactly what the vision for what he is doing is.
“But Phil Lord and Chris Miller hired us, so you sort of feel like, ‘I know I’m not your first choice…’
“And you worry about that. To be honest, I don’t know exactly what happened. I feel like I was the baby in the divorce, or the youngest child.
“The oldest child is like ‘we know what’s happening, but we are keeping you out of it’.
“And I’m just like ‘was that scene good? How did you feel?'”
The actor’s father, Donald Sr, is a huge ‘Star Wars’ fan and introduced him to the franchise when he was a boy.
The first toy his dad bought him was a Lando action figure and Glover said one of the best things about landing the role was being able to call his father with the news.
He said: “He just kept saying ‘woooow’.”
Donald Sr. has also been able to be see the set at Pinewood Studios, in London.

Stephen Lang reprises villain role in Avatar sequels

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Lang will be the main villain in all four ‘Avatar’ sequels.
The 64-year-old actor starred as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the 2009 hit movie and despite his demise at the end of the film, director and creator of the franchise James Cameron has confirmed he is set to return in all of the upcoming installments.
Speaking to Empire, Cameron said: “The interesting concept of the ‘Avatar’ sequels is it’s pretty much the same characters.
“There are new characters and a lot of new settings and creatures, so I’m taking characters you know and putting them in unfamiliar places and moving them on this greater journey.
“But it’s not a whole bunch of new characters every time. There’s not a new villain every time, which is interesting.
“Same guy. Same motherf***er through all four movies. He is so good and he just gets better. I know Stephen Lang is gonna knock this out of the park.”
The original ‘Avatar’ movie – which also starred Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver – grossed $2.7 billion at the global box office, and received widespread praise from movie critics.
Weaver, who starred as Dr Grace Augustine, also died during the first instalment but has been revealed to be returning to the franchise as well and recently revealed preparations have already started to make the much-anticipated follow-up movie.
Cameron previously claimed he is not worried about the delays to the release of the next ‘Avatar’ movie.
The director intends to make four sequels in total, but there have been significant delays to his original plans, meaning fans have been kept waiting for years for the next installment in the franchise.
In April, Cameron took to Facebook to announce that “concurrent production on four sequels” has begun and the first movie will be released in 2020, followed by the other three in 20121, 2024 and 2025.
He wrote: “Great to be working with the best team in the business! Avatar takes flight as we begin concurrent production on four sequels. The journey continues December 18, 2020, December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024 and December 19, 2025!”

Dame Joan Collins wasn’t allowed to keep costumes from The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins wasn’t allowed to keep any costumes from ‘The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas’.
The 84-year-old actress starred as Pearl Slaghoople in the Brian Levant 2000 movie, which was based on the popular cartoon series, and the screen legend admitted the set was one of the few times she was banned from taking home a wardrobe souvenir.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, she said: “I kept a few costumes from ‘Decadence’ and I tried to keep some from ‘The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas’ because they were so amazing, all made of leather, but they wouldn’t let me.
“I have quite a few ‘Dynasty’ dresses.”
The TV and movie legend recently starred in the 2017 low-budget British movie ‘The Time Of Their Lives’ as Helen, a former Hollywood star who leaves her London retirement home to go to her ex-husbands funeral in France.
Collins stars alongside old friend Pauline Collins in the film, and she couldn’t imagine anyone better she wanted to work with.
She said: “I fell in love with the character of Helen and the whole concept.
“I play an actress in a retirement home who’s escaped and wants to go to France to the funeral of her ex-lover, who is also the father of the child she’s never seen.
“We did a lot, working 14 or 15-hour days, some six-day weeks. I’m in a lot of scenes, so is Pauline Collins – she’s wonderful to work with.
“She’s a wonderful actress. When the director, Roger Goldby, first sent me the script over four years ago, he said would I like to do it? I said absolutely.
“He said ‘Who do you see as Priscilla?’ and I said ‘There’s only one person who could play this role and that’s Pauline Collins’.
“He said ‘Do you know her?’ And I said ‘Well yes I do’.”
