Elton John’s ‘significant’ part in Kingsman: The Golden Circle

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has a “significant” role in ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’.
The ‘I’m Still Standing’ hitmaker will play himself in the sequel to 2014’s ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ and the movie’s star Taron Egerton say he did a “superb” job on set and was hilarious with it.
The 27-year-old hunk said: “You’ve never seen him like this, he’s hilarious in it.
“It’s quite significant, as well. It’s not a walk-on. He’s there. He’s in the movie.
“He plays himself, but it’s a significant role and he’s so funny. He’s superb.”
Taron – who portrays – who stars as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin – was thrilled to get to work alongside the 70-year-old music legend as he’s his “hero”.
He added to Digital Spy: “I mean, it’s such a treat for me, as well. He’s such an icon and, as for many people, a little bit of a personal hero of mine. And yeah, he really brings it.”
The Tiny Dancer’ singer confirmed his part in the forthcoming movie last year.
Taking to Instagram, he simply wrote: “It’s been a long time since Tommy….. #Kingsman (sic)”
Taron previously teased the sequel – which sees the likes of Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Channing Tatum join the cast – will be an “international story”.
He explained: “With ‘Kingsman’, we’re shooting in the summer at present. There’s a script, it’s brilliant.
“Obviously there’s only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot the first one all in the UK, that won’t be the case with the next one. It’s a far more international story, we’re going to some incredible places.
“We have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson – this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It’s amazing.”
The new film has also posed a challenge for filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, who admitted he found writing the sequel the “hardest thing” he’d ever done.
He shared: “Sequels are weird. The audience wants what you did before, but if you do that, they go, ‘Well this is just f***ing unoriginal and boring.’ Writing this was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

James Bond to marry in new 007 movie?

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bond reportedly gets married in the new 007 movie.
The much-anticipated new film, which will see Daniel Craig reprise the role of the iconic British agent, is set to feature a surprising plot, according to a Hollywood insider, who has claimed Bond will quit the secret service and marry the woman he loves.
The source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married.”
But the insider added Bond will return to the secret service after his wife is killed.
In the most-recent Bond movie, 2015’s ‘Spectre’, Craig’s love interest was played by French actress Lea Seydoux.
And as the new movie opens, the duo will already be a married couple.
The source explained: “The film’s like ‘Taken’ with Bond.”
Craig only recently confirmed his intention to reprise the role of Bond, having previously suggested he was planning to quit the money-spinning franchise.
But when he was asked last month on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ if he would be returning to the role, the 49-year-old star replied: “Yes. I couldn’t be happier.
“I’ve been quite cagey about it. I’ve been doing interviews about it all day and people have been asking me and I’ve been kind of coy but I kind of felt like, if I was going to speak the truth, I should speak the truth to you.”
Craig admitted he “always wanted to return” to the role, but confirmed the next Bond movie will be his last.
He explained: “I think this is it. This is it. I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”

Megan McKenna’s being secretly mentored by Louis Walsh

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna is being secretly mentored by Louis Walsh.
The 24-year-old reality star is trying to break into the country music industry, and the brunette beauty has been receiving assistance about the business by the ‘The X Factor’ judge, who has looked after the likes of Westlife, Boyzone and Union J.
Speaking about her career and the words of wisdom she has received from the Irish mogul to The Sun Online, the ‘Only Way is Essex’ star said: “Louis Walsh and I talk a lot about my music.”
And the 65-year-old businessman is “really happy” with Megan’s career so far.
She added: “And he’s really happy with how it’s going.”
But Louis is not the only producer she has been in talks with about her future.
She said: “I mean I’ve speaking to a lot of songwriters and producers.
“I thought it was quite cool that Now Music you know who do all the albums as they tweeted ‘do you think Megan could make it as a country star?’ It was so cool.”
The Mouthy By Megan McKenna founder – who launched her make-up line earlier this year – can currently be seen in her own show ‘There’s Something About Megan’, which follows her on her journey to forge a successful career as a country singer, and the star has revealed Louis was the one who encouraged her to do the programme.
Speaking about her latest project, she said: “Basically he actually was one of the people who said to me ages ago that I should go to Nashville and do a show.”
Megan competed on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2009 before appearing on ‘The X Factor’ one year later, and although she was unsuccessful on both talent shows she would “love” to be involved in the ITV talent competition in the future.
She said: “I’d love to get involved in ‘X Factor’, maybe – never say never. You never know what’s coming round the corner.”

Sarah Harding doesn’t know when she’ll see boyfriend Chad Johnson

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Harding doesn’t know when she’ll see her boyfriend Chad Johnson again.
The former Girls Aloud singer struck up a romance with the ‘Bachelor’ star while they were both locked up in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house last month but they’re now living on opposite sides of the world because the hunk has gone back to Los Angeles.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (05.09.17), she said: “[It’s going] OK, he’s gone back to LA now. I don’t know [when I’ll see him next]. I’ve got some work possibly lined up in LA in the next few weeks. I might be back over in a couple of weeks. Who knows? We’ve spent like a week together outside of the house, obviously we’ve got real lives to get on with. I’m still acclimatizing and getting used to real life again. I still can’t get my head around everything and what’s to come so we’re just going to play it one bit at a time. I want to be sensible about this.”
But the 35-year-old beauty is still trying to get her around her on-screen romance because she never expected to fall for someone when she first went into the abode.
She explained: “I wasn’t looking for anything when I was in there. I didn’t fancy any of the lads when I got in there at all. I didn’t look at any of them like that.
“But with me and Chad I think we only had each other to lean on and from becoming really good friends it just grew into feelings when we both got nominated and we both got saved. I think that’s when it sort of fell into more feelings.”
And, although her time on the show was full of tears and tantrums, Sarah – who was crowned the winner of the summer series two weeks ago – has admitted there’s a chance she may go back into the house in the future.
She added: “I think going out was the scariest part … I don’t know how I won, it was tough. I don’t know, give it time, I might go back in. I might do it again. I don’t know.”

Ryan Thomas didn’t eat for 8 days

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas didn’t eat for eight days while doing ‘Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ hunk has admitted he lost two stone (28lbs) while trying to survive on a remote island with a bunch of other stars because they barely had any food to keep them going and had to use their energy wisely.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (05.09.17), he said: “We looked like old men and women walking around. You had to make sure you used whatever energy you had at the right time. It was such a struggle from start to finish.
“At first, we didn’t have food, we ran out of water and the storms were relentless because you never knew when they would finish. You had to learn how to adapt very quickly and you had to realise how to survive without food for a long period time.”
But, luckily for Ryan, the 33-year-old actor had his now-girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh, 26, to keep him in the right frame of mind and the pair got on so well during the challenge that they decided to give their relationship a go when they left the island.
He explained: “It was amazing to have Lucy there with me. We are of a similar age and she was a companion. It’s nice having someone to look out for you. It was a real pleasure to have her there for me.”
And, although on reflection he thoroughly enjoyed doing the series, Ryan has no intention of taking part in any other reality TV shows.
He said: “I love watching those other shows but for me, this is the only programme that has approached me asking if I was interested. And ‘Celebrity Island’ is the only show I wanted to do because it doesn’t have a winner. People don’t change who they are just so they can win. It’s more about learning; you’re learning how to survive. And I love Bear Grylls. To put my name to anything he’s in is just amazing.”

Suranne Jones to quit acting?

OHMYGOSSIP — Suranne Jones may quit acting to focus on producing.
The 39-year-old actress has enjoyed a highly successful career over the years – with roles in ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Scott & Bailey’ – but she has admitted she’s starting to enjoy being behind the camera more than being on set since becoming associate producer on the forthcoming second series of the BBC drama ‘Doctor Foster’.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (05.09.17), she said: “I love the development and I’m so lucky to be working with writers like Mike Bartlett and Sally Wainwright next year. I’ve produced stuff – I produced the last ‘Scott & Bailey’ and I’m kind of learning. I wasn’t very good at school and I feel like I’m at school now and doing all the academic stuff behind the camera and I really like it.”
As well as producing the second instalment of the mystery drama and starring as the titular character – also known as Gemma Foster – the brunette beauty also had to juggle motherhood as her son, whose name is not yet known, joined her on set.
She explained: “He was six months old. We tried nursery but you’re just trying to figure out how childcare will work and then, of course, they go to nursery and they get ill so he had snot coming out of his nose, he had hand foot and mouth, he had all sorts of stuff I’ve never even heard of so then we had to bring him on set. I was trying to line up and carry him and it was full on.
“But I love being a mum. It is the best – I always knew it would be – and then I met Laurence and then a year later we got married and then a year later we had a baby.”
And Suranne would love to have another baby with her husband Laurence Akers but she’s so busy with her career at the moment that she doesn’t have time for pregnancy.
She added: “I’m in theatre in February and that’s on for 12 weeks. That’s ‘Frozen’ – not the Disney version – it’s a lot darker … and then I’m doing Sally Wainwright’s show.”

Sir Bruce Forsyth is laid to rest

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Bruce Forsyth has been laid to rest.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host’s close friends and family attended a “sad but beautiful” intimate ceremony on Monday (04.09.17) to pay their respects to the legendary presenter after he tragically passed away last month at the age of 89.
According to The Sun Online, guests lined up outside the church and released 12 white doves into the air to honour the late veteran entertainer as a speaker said: “To the rainbow. Somewhere over the rainbow. Until we all meet again.”
The beautiful moment was captured on camera and shared on Instagram by Phones 4u founder John Caudwell, who accompanied the footage with the caption: “A sad but beautiful moment at Bruce’s funeral. The loss of a dear friend and amazing entertainer that spanned my whole life! RIP Sir Bruce. X (sic)”
It’s believed Bruce’s family are planning another ceremony for his fans at a later date.
A source said previously: “Bruce’s family are very much coming to terms with their loss, which is utterly devastating. It is too early to say for sure what will happen next. But the idea of the great and the good celebrating their friend’s life alongside the ordinary fans who watched him for years is very much liked.
“Further conversations about it will be had in the coming weeks, when the family are ready. The decision, either way, will be theirs to make.”
Bruce is survived by his wife Lady Wilnelia Forsyth and his six children – daughters Debbie, Julie and Laura from his first marriage with Penny Calvert, Charlotte and Louisa with his second spouse Anthea Redfern and a son with Wilnelia – as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The television icon had been unwell for some time and was hospitalised earlier this year with a severe chest infection but his manager Ian Wilson said Bruce was still cracking jokes even in his ill health.

Play to the Whistle axed

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Play to the Whistle’ has been axed.
The Holly Willoughby-fronted sports quiz programme, which features Frank Lampard and Bradley Walsh as team captains, has received its marching orders after three series due to the trio’s busy schedules and after failing to perform as well as show bosses had hoped.
A source said: “ITV loved the format and panel shows are historically popular.
“Having Holly as host is a big draw as are Bradley and Frank as captains.
“But it hasn’t performed as they’d hoped so they are resting it for now.”
However, the show will be substituted back onto the schedule for special episodes to run alongside major sporting events, such as next year’s World Cup in Russia.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “They still plan to bring it out for big sporting occasions, such as the football World Cup next year but it won’t run for another full series.
“Holly is going to be up to her eyes in it with ‘Dancing On Ice’ and ‘This Morning’, and Frank and Bradley have a lot on their plate with their other commitments.
“The regulars and guests did a great job but it just didn’t work out.”
The panel game show – which is executive produced by Holly’s husband Dan Baldwin – kicked off on April 2015 with an eight episode series.
The second and third series, which ended in April this year, featured just six eps.
‘Play to the Whistle’ had regularly attracted more than 3.5 million viewers for a number of shows, but one episode last season – featuring Ashley Cole as a guest – attracted just 1.43 million.

The Big Family Cooking Showdown judges ‘face axe’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosemary Shrager and Giorgio Locatelli could be axed from ‘The Big Family Cooking Showdown’.
The celebrity chefs, who act as judges on the programme, face being culled from the BBC cookery series as show bosses are said to have grown concerned with recent viewing figures following a near 400,000 slump in the three weeks following the launch episode.
An insider said: “Bosses like the format and have high hopes for recreating some of the magic of ‘Bake Off’, but something hasn’t quite clicked.
“The feeling behind the scenes is that there’s definitely something there. Nadiya and Zoe have proved a hit as hosts, but it might be the spark between the judges is lacking something.”
It’s not yet known whether the programme will return for a second series but judges Rosemary and Giorgio could make way if so, meaning co-hosts Zoe Ball and former ‘Great British Bake Off’ champion Nadiya Hussain will line up with new colleagues.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “If it’s to have another series, some new faces look likely.”
‘The Big Family Cooking Showdown’ received around 1.7 million for its launch show, but last week’s episode was watched by just 1.34 million.
This comes after ‘The Great British Bake Off’ was seen by 6.5 million last week when it re-launched on its new Channel 4 home after departing the BBC.
‘The Big Family Cooking Showdown’ began on Tuesday August 15 but has now moved to Thursday evenings to avoid a clash with ‘Bake Off’, which airs on Tuesdays.
The programme features two teams of three family members competing in a trio of challenges, with the winner of each of the eight heats set to progress to the semi-finals and then the final before a winner is chosen.

Ed Balls gives Richard Coles ‘detailed programme’ for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls has given Reverend Richard Coles a “detailed training programme” to help him with his chances of winning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former politician may not have managed to worm his way into the final of the BBC One ballroom and Latin show with his impressive dad dancing last year, but he has been giving out “helpful” tips to the former 80s pop star-turned presenter.
He said: “I had a very, very helpful and detailed briefing with the former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer which was very helpful indeed.
“Ed gave very good advice and a detailed training programme.”
The Church of England priest isn’t worried about having little dancing knowledge or rhythm as he was big on the club scene in Ibiza back in the day, though he’s forgotten all of the moves now.
He quipped: “I have extensive dance experience from the nightclubs of Ibiza in 1989 but unfortunately I don’t remember any of it at all.
“I did do ‘Alternative Miss World’ in around 1994 where I played the maracas for Miss Midlands South East.”
However, the 55-year-old star has warned his fellow contestants that he is bound to bring out his inner “diva” on the dancefloor because he’s very “competitive”, though he admits he tries to hide it because he gets “embarrassed”.
He told Radio Times: “I’m a competitive person, although I’m embarrassed of being competitive – so I try to mask it.
“But obviously everything will be revealed on this show, so probably a hideously ambitious diva will emerge.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday (09.09.17) with the likes of Ruth Langsford, Mollie King, Alexandra Burke, Gemma Atkinson and Aston Merrygold all set to compete for the glitterball trophy.

Mary Berry says the new-look Great British Bake Off is ‘brilliant’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Berry thinks the revamped version of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is “brilliant”.
The 82-year-old TV star has been replaced on the popular baking show by Prue Leith following the programme’s move to Channel 4, but Mary is full of praise for the new-look show, which also features new presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
She explained: “I have looked at it yes, and I have to say it’s a wonderful format.
“It’s a wonderful creation that programme, and it’s followed the same lines. It continues to be brilliant.”
Mary relished her time on the show, but is now happy to sit back and watch Prue in action.
She said, too, that Prue and Paul Hollywood will continue to push the programme forwards in the coming years.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Mary said: “I was with it seven years and I loved it but I’ve gone on to pastures new and Prue Leith – she knows her stuff – and she and Paul will continue to be brilliant judges.
“I have spoken to Prue, I wished her well and she said she’s thoroughly enjoying it and who wouldn’t? It’s a wonderful job.”
Mary served as a judge on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ from 2010 until last year.
But since she decided against following the programme to Channel 4, Mary has kept herself busy with her new show.
Of her latest TV project, she shared: “I am doing ‘The Secrets of Country Houses’ which will be out in October and that has been terrific fun!”

Joe Thomas to star in new comedy The Festival

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Thomas will be starring in a new comedy ‘The Festival’.
The 33-year-old actor shot to fame in the hit Channel 4 series ‘The Inbetweeners’ and the subsequent two movies, and now Thomas is attached to the new comedy written and produced by Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.
‘The Festival’ follows a group of students as they graduate and head to a music festival and has been described as a coming-of-age comedy.
Morris told Variety: “I’m delighted to be making this film with my ‘Inbetweeners’ partners Film4 and Entertainment. Going to a music festival is a quintessential British rite of passage just like a lads’ holiday or backpacking so it seemed like a natural fit for me to try and find then humour and fun in festivals.”
Thomas will star alongside Claudia O’Doherty, Hammed Animashaun, Jemaine Clement, Hannah Tointon and Kurt Yaeger.
Production company Fudge Park, which produced ‘The Inbetweeners’, is also reportedly attached to the film and is the first to be greenlit with Film4 and Entertainment.
Fudge Park recently produced the BBC Three series ‘White Gold’ – which also starred Thomas – and the upcoming movie, which is slated for a summer 2018 release, is its first feature with a screenplay penned by Keith Akushie and Joe Parham.
Daniel Battsek, director of Film4, said: “Film4 are delighted to be working with Fudge Park and Entertainment again for the first time since the phenomenally successful ‘Inbetweeners’ movies.
“We’re confident Iain and the rest of the team will produce another very funny and very commercial feature film.”
‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ and the sequel were both box office successes with the second film having the biggest opening weekend of 2014.

Sylvester Stallone hints Creed 2 to start production in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone has hinted ‘Creed 2’ will start production next year.
The 71-year-old actor has shared a post on his official Instagram account showing an image of co-star Michael B. Jordan – who played Apollo Creed’s son Adonis Creed in the acclaimed 2015 film – in character in a boxing ring and then teased the 30-year-old actor is in training for his return in the role.
Stallone captioned the image: “Getting stronger !!! 2018 #Creed 2 #mgm #fitness #Rocky (sic)”
Deadline has also reported that Stallone has been working on the script for the sequel to the first film, which was brought to the big screen by director-and-writer Ryan Coogler and based around the Rocky Balboa cinematic universe which Stallone created in 1976.
In July, Stallone teased ‘Creed 2’ could be inspired by ‘Rocky IV’ and shared a photoshopped movie poster in which Adonis stands toe-to-toe with his Russian boxer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) who was responsible for killing his father Apollo (Carl Weathers) in the ring in the 1985 film.
Stallone captioned the image: “Here’s a chance to stretch your imagination … HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY! … Sins of the Father…. #creed2 # agentnickyc (sic)”
Coogler’s story revolved around Apollo’s illegitimate son Adonis and his quest to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a professional boxer, and he persuades Rocky – his dad’s most famous opponent and dear friend – to train him.

Francesca Eastwood’s dad legacy looms large over her

OHMYGOSSIP — Francesca Eastwood admits her dad Clint Eastwood’s Hollywood legacy looms large over her own career and has almost cost her roles.
The 24-year-old actress is proud to be the daughter of Clint – famous for his western parts and Dirty Harry alter ego – but accepts that his body of work can be linked to her.
Francesca can recall auditioning for the part of Florence Tildon in 2016’s ‘Outlaws and Angels’, a western film about bandits who hide out in home of a frontier family.
However, she was almost rejected because they didn’t want to cast her in the same genre which made her father a household name.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, Francesca said: “I loved the story and I really wanted to do it, but some of the producers were like, ‘We can’t cast Clint Eastwood’s kid in a western. That’s insane.’
“I pointed out that it wasn’t a western, that it was a family drama, and they came around. I’m so glad they did because it was the first time I thought, ‘This is what I want to do with my life.’ ”
Francesca – whose brother Scott Eastwood is also carving out a successful acting career for himself – is determined to prove herself as an actress by showcasing her own talent but she realises that her famous name can also be a help as well as the occasional hindrance.
She said: “The types of projects I want to do don’t come easy – whether you have a big name or not. It helps you get a reservation at a restaurant and it helps if you want to start working on just anything. But sometimes it works against you.”
Francesca is desperate to land a role in an action movie and she would love to star opposite her idol Tom Cruise.
She said: “Hopefully, it’s all going to come in handy because I’d love to get a couple of cool action movies under my belt. I love Tom Cruise and I love that he does it all himself. I would hang out of a helicopter. Absolutely.”

Angelina Jolie to return for Maleficent 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie has confirmed she will be returning for ‘Maleficent 2’.
The 42-year-old actress starred as the titular role in the 2014 live-action Disney remake and the studio revealed they are pressing ahead with plans for the sequel but due to potential contracting issues, Jolie was unsure whether she would be returning.
However, at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend, the actress said: “We have been working on the script and this is going to be a really strong sequel.”
Although not much else is known about the upcoming sequel, last week, Disney revealed they have hired ‘Spectre’ co-writer Jez Butterworth to rewrite the screenplay for the film.
Linda Woolverton had penned the original draft, but her effort is set to be reworked by Butterworth, who will be under pressure to deliver a commercial hit following the success of the original movie.
Jolie previously admitted she relished playing Maleficent, the antagonist in Walt Disney’s classic 1959 animation ‘Sleeping Beauty’.
She explained: “It is really funny when people say you’d be obvious for a great villain. She was just my favorite as a little girl. I was terrified of her but I was really drawn to her. I loved her. There were some discussions about it before I got the part, and I got a phone call from my brother who said, ‘You got to get your name on the list for this!'”
Angelina also revealed that, in some ways, she could relate to her on-screen character.
The Hollywood star – who has six children -previously said: “What’s interesting about her that what I do relate to, and what I think everyone relates to, is she’s not what you assume she is.”
The first movie starred Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty, Brenton Thwaites as Prince Phillip and Sharlto Copley as King Stefan.

Matt Smith wants to join Marvel Cinematic Universe

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Smith wants to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The 34-year-old British actor would jump at the chance to take on a role in the superhero franchise, but only if he was asked by bosses and if it was the right part for him.
The ‘Lost River’ actor is best known for portraying the Time Lord in British sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ from 2010 to 2014, and says it would be important for a future role in the MCU to be a challenge and therefore different from playing the Doctor.
Asked if it is something he’d like to do, Matt said: “I’d love to. They’ve got to ask me though, the swines … But it would have to be the right project … It would have to be something that felt different enough to ‘Doctor Who’.”
Smith wouldn’t be the first star of ‘Doctor Who’ to enter the MCU as Karen Gillan (a former companion) stars as Nebula in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies, Christopher Eccleston (9th Doctor) did ‘Thor: The Dark World’s Malekith’, while his predecessor David Tennant played villain Kilgrave in ‘Jessica Jones’.
He added: “I love so many of those movies and I love Nebula, because Karen’s blue. With no hair. Anyway, I’d love to. If you’re listening, Marvel.”
