Darren Aronofsky says Joker origin is familiar

OHMYGOSSIP — Darren Aronofsky has claimed the upcoming ‘Joker’ origin movie from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment shares some similarities to a pitch he made for a ‘Batman’ film.
The acclaimed filmmaker – who is currently promoting his latest big screen project ‘mother!’ – was previously attached to a shelved movie called ‘Batman: Year One’, and it would have seen him take The Caped Crusader’s origin in a very different direction.
Speaking to First Showing about the proposed Joker origin film – which could see Martin Scorsese produce – he said: “You know what, I think it’s finally … I think we were basically – whatever it is – 15 years too early. Because I hear the way they’re talking about the Joker movie and that’s exactly – that was my pitch. I was like: we’re going to shoot in East Detroit and East New York. We’re not building Gotham. The Batmobile – I wanted to be a Lincoln Continental with two bus engines in it.”
Although the idea didn’t make it to the big screen, Aronofsky added that some parts of his grittier interpretation of the character were featured in other projects like ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
He added: “Some of my ideas got out there through other films. Like the ring with “BW”, Bruce Wayne’s ring making the scar was our idea and I think that was in Zack’s or something. Which is fine, you write these ideas and they get out. We were all about reinventing it and trying to make it more ‘Taxi Driver’ visceral. That was the whole pitch. But the toy people were like, ‘Oh it can’t be a Lincoln Continental, you have to make a Batmobile.’ ”

James Wan producing Sweet Tooth

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan has signed on to produce the upcoming big screen adaptation of horror movie short ‘Sweet Tooth’.
The filmmaker has built his horror expert reputation by directing 2004’s ‘Saw’ and creating ‘The Conjuring’ franchise has secured the rights to the scary Dutch film, on which he will act as producer alongside Chris Bender.
As reported by Empire Online, the duo will work with New Line Cinema to give the horror short the full length Hollywood treatment, as they work with director Nico van den Brink on the project.
Dutch filmmaker Brink will work with a writer as they make a feature film out of the original 10-minute piece.

Her terror only increases when she hears the movements and laughter of the kids.
Director Brink has worked on a number of adverts and short films, but the adaptation will mark his first move into the world of full-length movies.

Rutger Hauer has concerns over Blade Runner sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Rutger Hauer is concerned that ‘Blade Runner 2049’ won’t be as “character-driven” as the original film.
The 73-year-old actor starred as the renegade and violent replicant Roy Batty in Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic alongside Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard and with the highly anticipated Denis Villeneuve’s set to be released this year, Hauer thinks it will “never compare”.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Hauer said: “I have to watch it. I’m curious to see if it’s what I think it is. I feel that if you make a sequel, you make a similar one but not the same. It’s a real trap that your success needs to look the same. ‘Blade Runner’ was a character-driven story and I don’t see that in the new trailer and the casting.
“If they’re showing up with special effects, a lot of noise and shooting, it will never compare. That’s the truth. But it’s got a pretty good director so he needs the benefit of the doubt.”
The new film sees Ford reprise his role alongside an impressive cast including Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto.
Although ‘Blade Runner’ is now considered a cult classic, Hauer admitted the film only became successful 25 years after its release in 1982.
He said: “‘Blade Runner’ wasn’t a success for 25 years. When it came out, people said it was such a depressing movie but the audience kept it alive. It’s my most unique film. How can you not be proud to be part of something like that? It was such a wonderful experience – I was just dancing inside Ridley Scott’s head. It was based on instinct, not logic, and those are the best parts for me. There were hundreds of things that made ‘Blade Runner’ that weren’t in the plan.”
‘Blade Runner 2049’ is slated to be released this October.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller rewriting LEGO Movie 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are rewriting ‘The LEGO Movie 2’.
The scriptwriting duo originally wrote the first movie and, after being dropped from the ‘Star Wars’ Han Solo spin-off movie, the screenwriters are back on board for the highly-anticipated sequel to ‘The LEGO Movie’.
Producer Dan Lin told Collider: “The team is all back together, so it’s Lord and Miller, myself and Chris McKay. Mike Mitchell is the new voice who’s coming in to direct the movie. Chris and Phil are rewriting the script right now, but we’re in production. We’re picking up where the first movie left us, where the Duplo have now come and they’re attacking Bricksburg. It’s several years later, and you’re going to see the result of that.”
The first movie, which was an huge international success, focused on construction worker Emmet Brickowski who lives a simple life in Lego World creating new buildings by following the instructions but his world is tuned upside down when he becomes embroiled in a mission to save Lego World from Lord Business who wants to control the world with a special weapon called the ‘Kragle’.
At the end of the movie it is revealed that the story has been invented by a little boy named Finn who has been altering his father’s expansive and perfectly constructed Lego set.
The dad – played by Will Ferrell – realises that he is the villain of the story because of the rules he has imposed on his son to not play with his sets and he has a change of heart and the pair play together before Finn’s sister is allowed to join in the fun represented by aliens from the planet Duplo beaming down intent on destroying Lego World.
Lin said: “Everyone one of our movies, so far, have been told from the point of view of one kid’s imagination. ‘The LEGO Movie 2′ will be the first one told through two kids’ imaginations – Finn and his sister. It’s going to be really interesting juxtaposing those two different visions.”
McKay also said in the same interview that the introduction to Finn’s sister will be the “major thing” that the movie is about.
He said: “Now she’s coming in, and that’s the major thing that the movie is about. What’s different and similar about gender, when a boy plays vs how a girl plays? What kinds of stories are there? Chris and Phil are super smart and really thoughtful and sensitive writers. I’m really excited about where the movie is gonna go because it’s about these things that are actual notions that people have that might even be unconscious biases, where people don’t even realise that that’s the way they’re looking at the world.”
The plot of the movie has not been released as of yet, and there is no word as to whether Chris Pratt will lend his voice as hero Emmett.

Stephen Frears says ‘it takes balls’ to be the Queen

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Victoria & Abdul’ director Stephen Frears thinks it takes “a lot of balls” to be the Queen.
The 76-year-old moviemaker has refuted the idea that his new film about Queen Victoria’s friendship with her Indian servant Abdul Karim makes for an odd subject choice, and has also claimed the Monarch triggers special memories in the minds of Britons.
The self-confessed Republican, who also directed ‘The Queen’ in 2006, explained: “Actually when you look at both – I used to say at the time of ‘The Queen’ that I’m not a monarchist, I’m a queen-ist – we all like the Queen because she reminded us all of our mothers.
“Victoria, in this film, is such an eccentric figure, absolutely taking the p**s out of the conventional people, so I guess I’m a Queen-ist again.
“It’s rather interesting, it’s somehow the Queens who are the ones who have done best, aren’t they, in British history.”
Asked why that is the case, Stephen told Den of Geek: “I imagine it takes a lot of balls to be Queen.”
Queen Victoria’s relationship with Abdul was considered to be very unusual, partly because he came from a Muslim family in India.
And Stephen has joked he doesn’t expect his new movie to be received especially warmly by US President Donald Trump.
Asked if his film is a little Trojan horse, Stephen replied: “If it is it’s a huge one, isn’t it?
“It just comes out straight forwardly and says, ‘good for Muslims’. I don’t think it would go down very well with Donald Trump. But I don’t expect the revolution to take place.”

Rooney Mara never wanted to be a ‘child actor’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rooney Mara never wanted to be a “child actor”.
The 32-year-old actress made her professional acting debut in 2006 when she appeared in ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, and while the star has revealed her sister Kate Mara knew she wanted to be in front of the camera at a young age, Rooney was keen to continue her education before she embarked on her career in the entertainment industry.
Speaking about the film business, the brunette beauty said: “Kate knew definitively that she wanted to be on Broadway and do music and acting by age ten. Maybe because I was a contrarian, I wanted to go to school and not be a child actor.”
Despite boasting 10 years in the film business the ‘The Social Network’ star still believes she is “really not” that good at auditioning.
She explained: “Auditioning is like going on a job interview. You have to wear a certain outfit and behave a certain way and play the game a little bit, and I’m just not good at that. I’m really not.”
Rooney has revealed she has been typecast as not being “wide-eyed” by film producers because of the role she played in ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’.
Speaking about her struggles, she said: “The producers were like, ‘You’re just too ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’. You’re not wide-eyed and innocent enough’. It was right after I had shot ‘Carol’, but it hadn’t come out yet. I’m literally wide-eyed in that.
“I’m sure at some point it will be the reverse: ‘You’re not edgy enough.'”
But the ‘Lion’ star has revealed the knock-backs have only made her stronger and more determined to succeed.
She told Vogue magazine: “It only makes me bolder. It only makes me want to be like, F**k you! Watch me be wide-eyed and innocent.”

Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes sign record deal with Sony

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes have reportedly signed a record deal.
The ‘Love Island’ finalists – who struck up a bromance in the famous villa over the summer months – have been talking about releasing a rap song since they finished on the reality TV show in August and now it looks like their dreams have finally come true as it’s believed they’ve been having talks with music bosses at Sony this week.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “They have been in talks to sign a record deal since leaving the villa. Kem and Chris captured the nation this summer – and everyone including Stomzy was keen to see them pursue their love of music. They’re really excited to have been given this opportunity – it’s like a dream come true.”
And it’s not just their music careers that are taking off, as the pair have also been snapped up by ITV for their own spin-off show ‘Straight Outta Love Island’.
Kem said recently: “There’s nothing I can say as I don’t know the full gist but when they approached us I thought: ‘Really? Is that actually happening?’
“It’s going to put pressure on me and Chris, but from the reaction when we got it on Twitter I could not believe it. People went mad for it. I rang Chris and said: ‘Is this really the reaction we got?’ so I feel under pressure now.”
And, although he’s agreed to do all this work, Chris recently said he wasn’t keen on his new-found fame and wanted to run back to the farm he grew up on for normality.
He explained: “I hate it. I hate fame – straight up.
“I’m nice, so I smile all the time when people want photos, but I don’t enjoy it. It’s not glamorous and I just don’t enjoy it. It’s a different lifestyle.
“At times I just miss home, because all my mates are that way and my family and stuff. And it’s different – it’s quieter. I almost feel like how full-on it’s been for the three weeks since we’ve been out, that quietness would be nice.”

Gemma Atkinson to perform cha-cha-cha on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson will perform the cha-cha-cha as her first routine on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star found out she’d been paired with Aljaž Škorjanec at the beginning of the month and, although they’ve only had two weeks to rehearse, she can’t wait to get out under the glitter ball on Saturday (16.09.17) to show off the moves she’s learnt to Shawn Mendes’ ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’.
Taking to her Instagram account today (15.09.17), she wrote alongside a short clip of her and the professional dancer in rehearsals: “It’s the cha cha!!! To Shawn Mendes so excited @aljazskorjanec Wish us luck! (sic).”
And Gemma, 32, is certainly giving training her everything as just two days ago Aljaž, 27, was forced to glue the blonde beauty’s shoe back together after she tore the sole off the tanned-coloured heels.
As she filmed the hunk gluing the sole back together, Gemma said: “My shoes, I’ve been dancing so much.”
However, although she’s been working hard – just like the rest of the competitors – a new study has revealed that dancing ability could be down to genes as research shows successful dancers are most likely to be Taureans with dark hair, dark eyes, small feet and have no siblings.
The study was commissioned to celebrate the launch of new series ‘The Secret Life of the Ballroom’ and the results were based on a random sample of over 100 of the most successful international dancers from across a range of disciplines including ballroom, ballet and contemporary to analyse genetic and social factors. Physical attributes such as shoe size, family status, hometown and star signs were analysed to discover statistically significant patterns and this was then compared to the national average.
Statistician Dr Geoff Ellis said: “The results give credence to the theory that dancers are born, rather than made – though the public survey would suggest that the majority of us still enjoy getting our dancing shoes on! Even though there are various physical and social factors that would seem to lend themselves to being successful as a dancer, thankfully that still doesn’t stop anyone from giving dancing a go and enjoying it as much as those in new series ‘The Secret Life of the Ballroom’, for example.”

Danielle Armstrong is back with millionaire boyrfiend

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Armstrong has got back together with her millionaire boyfriend.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star split from Daniel Spiller over the summer following less than a year of dating, but it looks like they’re keen to get things back on track as they are currently holidaying in Madrid, Spain, to work through their issues.
A source told The Sun Online: “Dani was heartbroken when she split with Dan, absolutely in bits, so it’s no surprise to anyone that she’s back with him.
“They’re both in Madrid right now – she’s out there with mates and he’s at a Herbalife convention – but they’re working through things.
“They’re trying to keep things under wraps, but Dani can’t help herself. She’s so happy they’re giving it another go. She really loves him.”
The couple have been trying to keep their new romance under wraps but they set tongues wagging earlier this month when they were spotted shopping together.
An onlooker, who saw them in Bluewater shopping centre, explained: “I saw Danielle in Dan’s Ferrari parked outside of Bluewater. They looked really happy, like any other couple out shopping, and they didn’t seem to mind who saw them together.”
Shortly after Danielle struck up a relationship with Daniel, the 28-year-old beauty decided to walk away from ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – the show that made her famous – because she felt it was unfair to still work with her ex-boyfriend James ‘Lockie’ Lock.
She said previously: “A big part of it [her leaving] was because I’d met Dan. I thought, if I’m ever going to be able to make a go of any relationship, I’m going to have to take myself out of this situation.
I really do wish James all the best and I hope he meets someone who’s perfect for him. If I saw him I’d probably say hi but I’m not going to give him any support or check how he’s getting on in the new series [of the ITVBe show].”

Lauren Goodger’s relationship with jailbird beau was ‘mentally draining’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger’s relationship with her jailbird boyfriend was “mentally draining.”
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star split from Joey Morrison, who was convicted for a string of offences, including possession of a firearm, kidnapping, blackmail and actual bodily harm, because she couldn’t deal with the distance and was heartbroken when she learnt that he wasn’t being release last year – like she initially thought.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (15.09.17), she said: “He was supposed to come out then he got set back and it put a big strain on us.
“He wasn’t getting out for another year and I couldn’t wait no more. Me going out drinking and him inside, it put a strain on us.”
And there was tension between them when she did go to visit him in prison because he hated the thought of her going out with her friends while he was locked up.
Denise Van Outen asked: “He didn’t like you going out did he?”
Lauren replied: “He didn’t, no. The pressure of being inside and seeing me going out was pressure on him. It was mentally draining, it’s been so hard.”
The 30-year-old beauty then burst into tears and added: “I feel under so much pressure at the moment. It’s knocked my confidence completely. I don’t know why I’m crying.”
Lauren revealed that she’d split from Joey via a video message posted on her Snapchat account last week but confirmed they’re still friends.
She said: “There’s been a lot of speculation and claims recently about me and Joey about my weight and our relationship.
“We haven’t been together for a few months now and I haven’t said anything until now as I don’t have to explain my every move and should be allowed to deal with things in my own time. My antics out and about recently are because I am single and enjoying myself with my friends.
“Me and Joey are still speaking, and we’re good friends as nothing happened to make us fall out. I wanted to put it into my own words so it can’t get twisted and also because of all the ‘sources’ out there and people saying stuff.
“Joey will be home in not too long hopefully and I will see him as we’ve been through this last year and half together and have a friendship and respect for each other. He’s helped me a lot just as I’ve been there for him so of course we’ll remain friends.”

Dame Joan Collins doesn’t think people over 45 should do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins doesn’t think “anyone over 45 should do” ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 84-year-old legendary actress was shocked to hear that more mature people such as Debbie McGee, Ruth Langsford and Reverend Richard Coles had signed up to the current series of the ballroom and latin show because of the pressure it puts on joints.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (15.09.17), she said: “Two people I know have done it. George Hamilton did the American version, ‘Dancing With The Stars’. And he is STILL limping.”
The ‘This Morning’ host, 57, only started training for the show with her partner Anton du Beke at the beginning of this week but has already suffered a nasty injury while rehearsing.
Taking to her Twitter account, Ruth said in a short video: “I had great fun with Anton but I am aching in places I didn’t know ached.
“I’ve got a big bruise on my ankle but I think I kicked myself. That’s a good trick, isn’t it. So yeah, day 1, hopefully it can only get better, not worse!”
The blonde beauty is also struggling with swollen toes because she’s not used to prancing around in heels all day, but has decided to end every session with an ice bath after hearing that the professional dancers use that trick to cool down their feet.
She said: “So I’m told this is what the pro dancers do when their feet are hot and sore. Iced water for five minutes… it’s so cold but good!”
And, although she’s giving the rehearsals her all, her husband Eamonn Holmes doesn’t think she’s got what it takes to win the show.
He said: “She’s not going to win it, absolutely not, so save your money, folks.
“But you know what, it’s a great thing that programme means so much to people.”

Jeremy McConnell is convicted of trespassing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell has been convicted of trespassing.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star appeared in court in Dublin, Ireland, yesterday (14.09.17) to plead guilty to the charge after he drunken broke into a 27-year-old woman’s house in the Irish capital at 6:30am on February 10 while running away from two men who had chased him from a nearby house party on the same estate.
The 28-year-old hunk apologised for his actions and claimed he’d got lost after he left the bash and entered the house in Skerries through an unlocked back door.
Addressing Balbriggan District Court, Jeremy – who has had a string of legal issues –
said: “I am extremely apologetic. I was intoxicated and went into the wrong house.”
Judge Dempsey convicted Jeremy of trespassing and fined him €150 euros (£134).
Speaking after court, Jeremy told waiting press he just wants to move on with his life and can’t express how sorry he is to the woman who found him in her kitchen.
He said: “It was last year at a rough time. I am very sorry to the lady. I’ve paid my fine and can finally move forward. She made me a lovely cuppa too.”
Jeremy’s conviction comes just as he’s about to start his community service for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis, with whom he has nine-month-old son Caben-Albi, at her home in Liverpool during a blazing row at the beginning of March.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Jeremy has now moved to Cardiff and will start his community service next week.
“He’s living with ‘Make Or Break’ contestant and friend Richard Cull. They’ve been friends for a long time and Rich has help him through a difficult year.
“It’s not yet known what he will be doing but it could be decorating of council-owned areas, removing graffiti or working in a charity shop.”
As well as his community service, Jeremy was also ordered to pay £1,000 in court costs, £1,000 in compensation to Stephanie and a victims surcharge of £115.

Paddy McGuinness would do I’m A Celeb if he’s ‘skint’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness would jump at the chance to do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ if he was “skint.”
The ‘Take Me Out’ host – who has three young children with his wife Christine Martin – doesn’t think he could sign up to the creepy-crawly show at the moment because he’s absolutely “terrified” of flying and it would take a lot for him to get on a plane to Australia, where the series is filmed, but he would have no qualms about heading Down Under and getting stuck into the gruesome Bushtucker Trials if he was desperate for money.
Speaking on ‘The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw’, he said: “‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and the jungle are the ones I get excited about. I can’t wait for them to start.
“The jungle I enjoy the most, but I could not do that. I don’t like flying. Just getting to Australia for me, they’d have to film that. I’d be like, ‘Have I won 10 stars getting off the plane?’
“But don’t get me wrong, we’ve all got mortgages and I would be the first one with a kangaroo’s willy in my mouth if I was skint. I’d be the first one there.”
And, although he thinks going into the ‘Celebrity Big Brother house is the easiest reality TV show to take part in, he thinks he would “lose his mind” if he was locked up for three weeks with a bunch of celebrities.
He explained: “‘Celebrity Big Brother’ is the easiest one to do. But they all absolutely lose their minds and I’m like, ‘You’re in a house with tea and coffee, what’s the problem?’
“Have you ever been to that house where they film it? It is quite small. And it’s very dirty.
“I looked through the windows once there and I couldn’t believe how dirty it was. There were bits and bats all over the carpet. I think that’d be the one to do. I’d like to think in 10 years time me and you will be sat in there going, ‘Remember when we were really successful back in the day?’ ”

Billie Faiers to join The Mummy Dairies permanently

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Faiers will join her sister Sam Faiers’ reality TV show ‘The Mummy Dairies’ permanently after bosses asked her step in to help “spice up” the forthcoming series.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star will have to share her airtime with her sibling this time around as producers want to make the third instalment a “family affair” – similar to the Kardashians’ E! show ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ – now that Billie has two-year-old daughter Nelly and six-month-old son Arthur and Sam has 21-month-old son Paul.
A source told The Sun Online: “Sam will be joined by her sister Billie in the new series of the ‘Mummy Diaries’.
“There will be a Kardashians flavour to it this time – two sisters bringing up their broods and all the challenges and adventures they get up to together as a family.
“Billie has a great sense of humour and fans of ‘The Mummy Diaries’ saw her baby boy Arthur moments after being born and hilarious scenes of her trying to sleep train her daughter Nellie.
“Sam and Billie are extremely close and their onscreen chemistry is fantastic, the girls were only too happy to star together and make it more about the Faiers family as a whole.”
The programme will also document Sam’s second pregnancy and will hit screens shortly after she’s given birth later this year but, unfortunately it’ll go head-to-head with her best friend Ferne McCann’s new show, as the brunette beauty has also agreed to let the cameras into her life.
Ferne – who is pregnant with her first child – is currently shooting her new untitled show, but not much, apart from the fact it’ll capture her transition into motherhood, is known about it.
A source said recently: “Ferne had a difficult decision to make about putting her pregnancy on screen, but in the end she couldn’t resist the offers. Her pal Sam Faiers and Made in Chelsea’s Binky Felstead have proven that baby shows can be a smart career move.”

Scarlett Moffatt to get new teeth next month

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt will “finally” get a new pair of teeth next month.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ winner has been battling with confidence issues since she was 11 years old after her gnashers turned black when she was knocked off her bike by a car but she was on the verge of tears yesterday (14.09.17) when she paid a visit to the dentist to take measurements for her permanent veneers.
Taking to her Snapchat account, she said as she stretched her mouth open on camera: “I’m gonna cry finally in a month after 11 years after my accident I’ll have new teeth.”
For the past 15 years, the 26-year-old beauty has had temporary teeth caps to make her smile appear more aesthetically pleasing but she’s thrilled they’ll be permanent.
Scarlett – who was also diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy around the same time – previously admitted her broken teeth made her a target for bullies at school.
She said: “I was on my bike when I was 11 and a car hit me. The nerves had gone, so I had black teeth at the front. So I had black teeth as well as a monobrow, and I was a little bit chubby, and then half my face was on the slide.”
But she managed to overcome her securities when she moved schools and it made her realise that she didn’t need to change for anyone but herself.
She explained: “I knew I had to make friends. Once I moved school and puberty hit over the six-weeks holiday, all of a sudden I got boobs, my mam let me wax my eyebrows and I went and got my hair done. I just had this new-found confidence.
“Being bullied made me realise that people will like you or not like you anyway, so you might as well be yourself and say exactly what you think.”
