Baroness Michelle Mone offers £350k for Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Baroness Michelle Mone has been offered £350,000 to do ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 46-year-old entrepreneur has been approached for the forthcoming all-female series of the reality TV show, which is expected to hit screens in January, but she’s turned down the eye-watering sum because she’d rather do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Producers told Michelle how keen they were to get her on next year’s show. They offered a lot of money to start with and kept increasing their offer. But Michelle has told them it’s a firm no. While she loves watching ‘CBB’, she doesn’t think the House of Lords would be overly impressed with her going into the other house. It doesn’t exactly scream serious businesswoman and peer.
“She has always said she would happily go on ‘Dragons’ Den’ if that opportunity arose and she quite fancies having a go at ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ next year.”
Michelle was at the top of bosses’ list for the forthcoming instalment of the Channel 5 show as they were keen to bag some of the biggest names in showbiz – albeit girls only – for the special in order to mark 100 years since women won the right to vote.
An insider said previously: : “Channel 5 wants to make a real splash as part of their women’s vote celebrations.
“They are keen to cast opinionated women like Germaine Greer over no-mark reality TV girls who look good but have little to say or bring to the conversation. Bosses are expecting cat fights galore, plenty of tension and clashing personalities.”
The twist comes after production company Endemol vowed to refresh the format of the show this year in order to beat its competitor ‘Love Island’ in the ratings war.
Endemol’s Peter Salmon said: “‘Big Brother’ has got to last. You have to roll your sleeves up and renew it for a different generation. It is having a tougher competitive time in the UK but it’s huge around the world. ‘Love Island’ has been sensational. If ‘Big Brother’ is not on top form, we have to keep changing it.”

Brian Conley leaves Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley has been booted from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 56-year-old comedian found himself in the dreaded dance-off on Sunday’s (22.10.17) results show, and after his Jive – which he performed alongside professional partner Amy Dowden – failed to win over the judges when put up against chef Simon Rimmer’s Charleston, he was sent home.
Fourth judge Bruno Tonioli was missing from the judging panel due to a “busy schedule”, but all three remaining judges – Craig Revel-Horwood, Darcey Bussell, and head judge Shirley Ballas – used their vote to save Simon and his partner Karen Clifton.
Speaking after the results were announced, Brian showered his professional partner with kind words, though not before he joked he was talking about fellow contestant and former JLS member Aston Merrygold.
He said: “I have loved everything about this, I truly have. It’s one of the greatest shows, it’s a family show, and you know what? There’s been someone by my side all the way through this journey who’s been there every moment, and that is Aston. I love him.
“No! I love this lady [Amy]. I wanted to be on this show forever and ever because I want everyone out there to know how special this lady is. She’s a star, and I love her.”
And Amy – who was new to the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition this year – had similar praise to heap on Brian, whom she credited for giving her the “most amazing” experiences on the dance floor.
She said: “I’ve had the most amazing time. I’ve got not just Brian, but his entire family as friends for life. And thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on BBC One next Saturday (28.10.17), where the celebrities will be performing dances with a Halloween theme.

Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh choose X Factor final three

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh have chosen their final three acts for the ‘X Factor’ live shows.
In Sunday’s (22.10.17) episode of the ITV talent show, the final two judges took their six respective acts to the judge’s houses round of the competition, and chose the final three acts that will make it through to the live shows, which kick off next week.
Show runner and entertainment mogul Simon Cowell whisked the groups category away to the South of France, where special guest Cheryl was on hand to help him choose which three to carry through to the live shows.
Sibling trio The Cutkelvins, brotherly duo Sean and Conor Price, and London based boy band Rak-Sou impressed Simon and Cheryl enough to earn them a spot in the next round of the competition, whilst Jack and Joel, girl group Lemonade, and an unnamed girl band – who were put together in the six chair challenge after a number of solo girls failed to make it through – were sent home.
Meanwhile, Louis and special guest Mika took the boys – including Jack Mason, Spencer Sutherland, Aidan Martin, Leon Mallet, Lloyd Macey, and Sam Black – to Istanbul.
Spencer, Sam, and Lloyd managed to win themselves a spot in the live shows, whilst it was unfortunately the end of the road for Leon, Aiden, and Jack.
For Sam, the good news was particularly emotional, as he had already been turned away from the show once during the boot camp stage of the competition, but was brought back to take the place of Anthony Russell, who was forced to quit because of “personal reasons”.
Simon’s three groups and Louis’ three boys will join Sharon Osbourne’s three girls, Rai-Elle, Holly Tandy, and Grace Davies, and Nicole Scherzinger’s three Over 25’s, Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen, and Tracyleanne Jefford in the live shows.
‘X Factor’ returns with the first week of live shows on Saturday (28.10.17)

Charlotte Gainsbourg enjoys violent scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Gainsburg feels happiest when she’s shooting violent movie scenes.
The ‘Nymphomaniac’ actress likes to feel “uncomfortable” because it makes her forget her own shortcomings and she feels “alive” when she’s doing something that makes her suffer.
She said: “I like being pushed. I like effort. I like being uncomfortable.
“Because I’m not a performer in the sense that I have a loud voice or a real instrument, it’s not enough of an effort. I have to find a way, but whatever I do, it has to cost me real effort.
3Each time I’ve done a violent scene in a film, that was the most happy. Because it was a moment where I forgot everything, where my unconfidence and uneasiness… I didn’t think about it, the action was stronger.
“Then, working with Lars (Von Trier, director), he took me to places where it was exactly that. The emotions were stronger than my own persona.
“I didn’t have time to judge myself and being in those rough places was a discovery. And I loved the suffering. There’s a bit of masochism but I feel alive.”
The 46-year-old star is also a musician but she doesn’t feel comfortable performing on stage, though she hopes that will change.
She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: “I believe I will enjoy it eventually. But it’s not as easy as performing a role, I don’t feel natural.
“It’s because I’m only myself and for me that is not enough.
“I’d love to not care, to be able to do my own thing and to tell myself that if people come to see me it’s because they know who I am and what to expect.”

Josh Brolin pays tribute to Deadpool 2 stuntwoman

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Brolin has paid tribute to the stuntwoman who died on the set of ‘Deadpool 2’.
Joi ‘SJ’ Harris had been riding a motorcycle on the set of the upcoming movie in Canada in August when she crashed through the glass of the Shaw Tower’s ground-floor studio and Josh – who plays Cable – called her death a “freak accident”.
He said: “We had somebody pass away on ‘Deadpool 2’ and it was an absolute freak accident.
“The woman was such a wonderful woman … it wasn’t even a stunt, it was a freak accident.
“It was a terrible thing that happened. Was it a nano-decision that she made in order to save the bike and this, you know what I mean?
“You could look into it all [these ways], but sometimes things just happen that are tragic.”
After her tragic death, star Ryan Reynolds – who plays the titular character and his alter-ego Wade Wilson – took to Twitter to confirm the sad news.
He wrote: “Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool. We’re heartbroken, shocked, and devastated… but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world. (sic)”
And Zazie Beetz paid tribute to Joi in a handwritten letter posted on Instagram.
She wrote: “On Monday we tragically lost one of our own – Joi SJ Harris. My heart has been breaking the past two days and I have been searching what to say or do.
“I know that what I feel is nothing compared to what her loved ones, friends + family, are feeling.
“My heart and my love goes out to her and them all. The cast and crew send peace, healing, and their deepest condolences.”

Dame Julie Walters’s Bond ambition

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Julie Walters wants to play a Bond villain.
The 67-year-old actress recently worked with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli on ‘Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool’ and Julie lobbied her for a role in the next film in the spy franchise.
She told Event magazine: “I told her I want to be the new Rosa Klebb [the villain in ‘From Russia With Love’]. They should have a baddie woman. I’d love that. What accent would I use? Depends on the baddie – depends on the baddie. Maybe she should be from North Korea. Anyhow, I haven’t heard back.”
Julie also revealed she was surprised by the news that there would be a ‘Mamma Mia!’ sequel but was thrilled to get the chance to reunite with her castmates.
She said: “When they told me about that, I thought: but surely they’ve used up all the bloody songs? But they’d done another and it’s really good. I love singing. And we had such a laugh on the first one.”
Julie has a number of new films lined up including the ‘Paddington’ sequel and ‘Mary Poppins’ and insisted she has no plans to retire.
She said: “I wouldn’t want to retire. I’m an actor, that’s who I am. Yes, if I found myself with a year off, I’d love it. But I intend to keep working as long as I’m healthy.”

Ben Affleck’s ‘tough’ Batman

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck thinks Bruce Wayne is an “asshole”.
The 45-year-old actor returns as the billionaire industrialist and his vigilante alter ego Batman in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie and he and co-star Gal Gadot – who plays Diana Prince/Wonder Woman – like the way their characters’ differences make them work well together.
Gal said: “I think both of them are very alpha-type. Both of them deal with their past and both of them will do everything to make a better world and fight crime and fight evil. So we share a lot in common.
“It’s like yin and yang. They work well together. He has everything she doesn’t, she has everything that he doesn’t and they work for the same cause… She’s warmer and more loving and open and he’s more sophisticated.”
Ben added: “Tough, but sophisticated. He’s an asshole. It’s total typecast.”
Ben promised the upcoming ensemble blockbuster will see a return to a “classic” Batman tale, rather than the raging Caped Crusader of ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
He told SFX magazine: “This is a very different dynamic for Bruce Wayne from the first movie, where he was full of anger and resentment and a kind of irrational rage towards Superman.
“Here, he really is in the mode of your more classic Batman story, where he’s more heroic, trying to save and protect people, trying to build this unit. That was a totally different thing.
“The idea that this character is trying to assemble a group and get them to work together. Because Batman is a kind of internal, dark, conflicted guy.
“So it was challenging for him to turn outward and try to get all these people to work together.”

Miranda Hart would love to do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart would love to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – if it wasn’t on TV.
Although the ‘Miranda’ actress has had to learn some moves for her role in West End show ‘Annie’, she appreciates how tough it is to master the routines and show them off for an audience.
She told Heat Magazine: “I would love to do ‘Strictly’ – if it wasn’t on telly. I think anyone who does it is so brave.
“I am now learning to dance for a musical theatre role I start at the end of May, and it’s very hard when you haven’t danced before – very exposing and vulnerable-making.
“So anyone who does a different dance every week on ‘Strictly’, well, my hat goes firmly off to them.”
But if she was ever convinced to take part, 6ft Miranda thinks it would be hard for bosses to find a partner to suit her.
She said: “Ian Waite is the only dance partner who is tall enough for me.
“Luckily, I love him and think he is fab.”
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old comic admits nothing makes her happier than animals.
Asked what makes her happy, she said: “Animals, in particular my dog Peggy. Animals have always made me smile – their behaviours and brilliant silly faces.
“I will get myself pronto to a YouTube animal clip for guaranteed mirth.
“Watching other people happy and laughing.
“And when someone farts. Do I really need an explanation? Always funny.”

Olly Murs’ X Factor struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs struggled to deal with the criticism he received while presenting ‘The X Factor’.
The singer and his fellow former ‘Xtra Factor’ presenter Caroline Flack replaced host Dermot O’Leary for one season of the reality TV show but Olly admitted that he did not have an easy time as he struggled to settle into the role.
He told The Sunday People: “Dealing with the pressure of this industry isn’t easy, it’s intense, it’s not like any other job. It’s crazy. I think I’ve gone through worse now. On ‘X Factor’ two years ago all the stuff that happened was intense.
“There was a lot of pressure on my shoulders hosting the biggest show at the time. We’ve all gone through tough times, you have to use those times and try to make them as positive as you can and move on.
“I’ve learnt from those times I felt down and depressed. I think positive, you can’t dwell on the past.”
Olly recently joined ‘The Voice’ as a coach and he insisted he is ready to face any criticism that comes his way.
He said: “People will be on Twitter and social media judging me. They’ll say good things and negative things like they hate the show. Well, why are you watching it then?
“But the most important thing is how I feel in my heart. I’m having a great time with these guys. I’m loving ‘The Voice’.”

Nicole Scherzinger praises guest judge Stormzy

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger wanted Stormzy as her ‘The X Factor’ guest judge because he is a “credible” artist.
The singer is a huge fan of the grime star and asked him to join her at the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition to help her narrow down her group of contestants to three.
She told the Sunday Mirror: “He’s credible for me. I love that he’s not what people thought I’d have as a guest judge. I wanted someone relevant and current. It doesn’t take away his credibility. It’s showing another side.”
Meanwhile, Nicole has yet to sign up for ‘The X Factor’ next year and hinted that she may focus on her music instead.
She said: “If I don’t come back it’s not because I don’t love it.
“It’s because I’m a singer first. Every artist needs that time out to reflect.”
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh has revealed that he and Sharon Osbourne have signed up for next year and while they want Nicole to come back, he has backed Mel B as her replacement if she decides not to.
He said: “I’ll give up when she [Sharon] does. I love it, it’s not like work. This is not like work, it’s great fun. I’m getting paid to do something I love. I’m signed for next year, so is Sharon. Let’s see about Nicole.
“I would bring in Mel B, I love her, she’s a survivor. I love Nicole a little bit more. Nicole is my favourite female judge ever, she brings so much.
“I adore her, I love her more than she loves me. Seriously, she’s just the best, she’s amazing. She wants to win this year.”

Sarah Harding thinks The Jump should include trained skiers

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Harding thinks ‘The Jump’ should only feature celebrities with extensive winter sports experience.
The former Girls Aloud singer – who suffered a painful knee injury while training for the show last year – has rejected calls for the programme to be cancelled because so many famous contestants have got hurt in training, but thinks the stars taking part should be at a certain standard already.
Asked if she thinks it should be banned, she said: “No but I think they should use celebrities who are more experienced. Perhaps they should just stick to Olympians and people who have skied their whole lives.”
The 35-year-old beauty is still receiving treatment for the injury and is in a lot of pain.
She said: “It’s still very painful, especially if I wear heels for an event.
“I’ve had physiotherapy for the past year but I had to take a bit of a break while I was touring with ‘Ghost’, which has set me back a bit. The doctors told me that if I don’t stick with the physio I could get early onset arthritis, so it’s something I have to take seriously.
“Hopefully I’ve only got a few more months of treatment left though.”
In the months after sustaining her injury, Sarah went “stir crazy” because she was immobile for long periods of time.
She told OK! magazine: “Being in constant pain can be very difficult. For months afterwards I had no choice but to stay at home because I was on crutches and had to ice and elevate it three times a day. I went stir crazy – I was so bored.”
Meanwhile, it’s not yet known whether ‘The Jump’ has been axed permanently but it won’t appear on screens next year.

Aston Merrygold insists lothario days are behind him

OHMYGOSSIP — Aston Merrygold insists his lothario days are behind him.
The former JLS singer and his girlfriend Sarah Richards are expecting their first child together and Aston says he has settled down and the wild days of him being offered sex up to five times a day from fans are now over.
He told the Sunday Mirror: “Of course those days are over. I am nicely into a five-year relationship and have a baby on the way. It is all good.”
However, Aston admitted that balancing ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ rehearsals with Janette Manrara and supporting Sarah through her pregnancy has not been easy.
He explained: “At the moment I am not getting much sleep as there is not much room in the bed.
“I’m trying to juggle ‘Strictly’ and just trying to keep my girlfriend happy.
“It is fine but these are going to be the last moments really this year of just me and her as the baby is due in January.”
Meanwhile, Aston admitted he is unsure what he will do if he is asked to take part in the ‘Strictly’ tour next year, as it will take place just after the baby is born.
He said: “If you get further in the competition, then you do get asked to do the tour. I just have to keep working hard. Yeah we could take the baby on tour, but we don’t even know if it is a boy yet.
“The show is a journey. That is the only way to describe it. Mondays are the hardest bit as you look at your dance partner and they say ‘You have this to learn.’
“And it is like, ‘oh there is no way that is going to happen’ and then you get to Saturday night and it all comes together and I think, ‘I am good to go’. “When you get the call from Strictly, it is the biggest show on TV and you can’t say no. You have to go for it.”

Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger pick final 3 on X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger have picked their final three acts on ‘The X Factor’.
In Saturday’s (21.10.17) episode of the ITV talent competition, the first two rounds of judge’s houses saw Sharon and the former Pussycat Dolls member choose which three of their six acts would make it through to the live shows, which kick off next week.
Nicole, 39, was first to pick her final three from the six remaining Over 35’s, as she whisked Talia Dean, Slavko, Kevin Davy White, Berget Lewis, Matt Linnen and Tracy Leanne Jefford off to South Africa, where they were judged for one final time by the star and her special guest judge Stormzy.
In the end, Nicole chose to take Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen, and Tracy Leanne Jefford through to the live shows with her, whilst the remaining three have reached the end of their ‘X Factor’ journey.
Meanwhile, Sharon was accompanied by her two children Jack and Kelly Osbourne during her judge’s houses segment in San Francisco, where they judged the final six girls.
Rai-Elle, Holly Tandy, and Grace Davies managed to secure their place in the live shows after stunning the famous family with their performances, whilst Deanna, Georgina Panton and Alisah Bonaobra were unfortunately forced to leave the competition.
The addition of Grace to Sharon’s final three came as a shock to the pink-haired singer, as she had thought she was going home after breaking down in tears in the middle of her performance of an original song she had written about an unrequited love.
Before Grace broke down, Sharon had forced her to restart the track because she was “clipping her words” too much.
The 65-year-old television personality told her: “Hold on a minute, can we just stop? Grace, you’re singing with great emotion. I love the song but what you’re doing is you’re clipping your words. It’s as if you’re stopping your vocals from coming out.
“I love that little quirky sound you have in your voice but you’re doing it too much. You’ve got to breathe, you’ve got to relax, we’ve got to hear that you’ve got power in your voice.”
Kevin, Matt, Tracy Leanne, Rai-Elle, Holly, and Grace will be joined by Louis Walsh’s final three boys and Simon Cowell’s final three groups when they complete their final auditions on Sunday’s (22.10.17) show.

Debbie McGee tops ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard on Saturday (21.10.17) with an impressive Rumba.
The 58-year-old stage performer impressed the judging panel – which was missing fourth judge Bruno Tonioli due to a “busy schedule” – when she took to the dance floor on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition with her partner Giovanni Pernice to dance a romantic Rumba to ‘Baby Can I Hold You’ by Tracy Chapman.
Debbie scored a total of 27 from the three remaining judges, with Craig Revel-Horwood, Darcey Bussell, and head judge Shirley Ballas all awarding her with nine points each.
‘Holby City’ actor Joe McFadden and his partner Katya Jones were close behind with 26 points for their impressive Paso Doble, but were unable to take the top spot, despite being awarded a perfect 10 by Shirley.
Thanks to a missing Bruno, the scores for the week were close, with four celebrities managing to come in joint third place on the leaderboard.
Saturdays singer Mollie King, former JLS member Aston Merrygold, actress Gemma Atkinson, and Paralympic champion Jonnie Peacock all managed to score 24 points when they took to the dance floor with their professional partners.
At the other end of the leaderboard, there was another tie, with four more couples falling short of perfection.
Simon Rimmer and Karen Clifton, Brian Conley and Amy Dowden, Susan Calman and Kevin Clifton, and Ruth Langsford and Anton Du Beke all found themselves in the bottom spot, with just 16 points each.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will return on Sunday (22.10.17), where two couples will be forced to battle it out in the dreaded dance off.

Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne to return to X Factor in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne have been confirmed as judges for the 2018 series of ‘X Factor’.
The 65-year-old talent manager Louis has confirmed he and Sharon will be returning to the judging panel for series 15 of the ITV talent competition next year, despite the current series having only just approached the judge’s houses stage.
Speaking about his future on the show, Louis said: “I’ll give up when she [Sharon] does. I love it, it’s not like work. This is not like work, it’s great fun. I’m getting paid to do something I love. I’m signed for next year already, so is Sharon.”
And Louis insisted fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger hasn’t yet put pen to paper when it comes to a contract for the next series of the show – which was created by final judge Simon Cowell – but the Irish manager would love to see her return.
Speaking about Nicole, he said: “I love Nicole a little bit more. Nicole is my favourite female judge ever, she brings so much. I adore her, I love her more than she loves me. Seriously, she’s just the best, she’s amazing. She wants to win this year.”
Louis also spoke about the memorable joke acts from past series of the show, and commented on this year’s hopeful Slavko, whose quirky personality and long ponytail failed to secure him a place in the live shows during Saturday’s (21.10.17) round of judge’s houses.
Speaking to The Mirror newspaper, he said: “He’s got a big ponytail and all that. I think this show is back to being a great talent show. Honestly I do.
“If you get a really good personality act, that’s good. But there’s no point putting someone through just for the sake of it. It doesn’t work anymore, the public don’t want that.”

Naomi Watts to star in Hitchcockian thriller The Wolf Hour

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Watts has nabbed the lead role in the Hitchcockian thriller ‘The Wolf Hour’.
The 48-year-old actress – who is currently starring in the revival series of ‘Twin Peaks’ – will be directed by Alistair Banks Griffin in the psychological drama which she has also signed up to executive produce.
Production is set to start in New York City later this year, and Watts will star as a woman who was once a celebrated counter-culture figure who now lives alone in her Bronx apartment.
Having all but cut herself off from the outside world during the notorious “Summer of Sam” in 1977, she retreats further into isolation, before an unseen tormentor begins exploiting her weaknesses.
HanWay Films will oversee international sales and distribution and its managing director Gabrielle Stewart praised the casting, adding that the movie will reach levels of “tension” achieved in Alfred Hitchcock movies.
He said: “‘The Wolf Hour’ delivers Hitchcockian tension in a densely layered world with a role that will exploit every fibre of Academy Award nominee Naomi Watt’s emotional range as an actor. Director Alistair Banks Griffin has a clear vision of the world he is enveloping Watts in: all of our senses are going to be stimulated.”
Watts reunited with her ‘Mulholland Drive’ director David Lunch on ‘Twin Peaks’, and has starred in starred in the Netflix series ‘Gypsy’ and in the films ‘The Book of Henry’ and ‘The Glass Castle’ this year.
The Oscar-nominated star will also feature in a soon-to-be-aired documentary about Heath Ledger’s life and death on Channel Seven in Australia.
The actress dated the Hollywood star – who died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in 2008, aged 28 – from 2002 until 2004 and joins Heath’s family and friends, inluding his father Kim Ledger, in the documentary about the ‘Dark Knight’ actor.
