Simon Cowell told Megan McKenna she’d never make it as a country star

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell told Megan McKenna she’d never make it as a country singer.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star auditioned for ‘The X Factor’ twice in 2015 and, although she’s regularly praised for her incredible vocals, she was snubbed during the infamous Six Chair Challenge because the singing show’s boss didn’t think she’d be able to make a name for herself because she’s got a strong Essex accent.
Speaking to Jim Hill and Vick Hope for 4Music’s Trending Live, she said: “I don’t really know what happened. I was a bit fuming actually but I got through to the six chair challenge. I was obviously singing country music but Simon Cowell was just a little bit like ‘but you’re from Essex can you really sing country music?’ ”
However, the 25-year-old beauty has managed to prove the 58-year-old music mogul wrong as she went to Number 1 on the iTunes Download Chart last month just hours after she dropped her debut single ‘High Heeled Shoes’, while her second song ‘Far Cry From Love’ – inspired by her ex-boyfriend Pete Wicks – claimed Number 2.
Megan saw her singing career take off after her three-part series ‘There’s Something About Megan,’ which saw her travel to Nashville in a bid to learn the trick of the trade while performing in some of the city’s most famous venues, hit television screens.
She said recently: “Singing is my No 1. I am going to keep my performance side of things separate. I am not going to perform on ‘TOWIE’. Do you really think you’re going to have the whole of the ‘TOWIE’ cast clicking along to a country song? I don’t think so.”
Megan is currently working on her debut album and has teased that the songs on that LP will be written about her previous boyfriends.
She said: “I am going to write about my exes – you have to write about previous relationships. Song writing is very personal and I think throughout my life I’ve had so many things happen to me. I have so many stories to tell including ex boyfriends and ex friendships. I was bullied at school and grew up in that environment with girls not liking me. This is all going to put into my songs. I am a very honest person.”

Michael Bay to helm Dora the Explorer live-action movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bay is set to direct a live action ‘Dora the Explorer’ movie.
The 52-year-old filmmaker is best known for helming the ‘Transformers’ franchise, and after he claimed he is over the Autobot movies, Bay is instead turning his attention to another much loved children’s franchise.
‘Dora the Explorer’ is a children’s television programme which first aired in 2000 and is based around the adventures of the titular Spanish-speaking girl, her monkey Boots, her Backpack and other animated friends.
In each episode, Dora would go on an adventure in an animated world set inside a computer and the titular character would ask for viewers’ help in solving a puzzle or mystery she faced, teaching children both basic Spanish and puzzle solving skills.
Bay’s Platinum Dunes label and his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are reportedly producing the movie with director Nick Stoller, who will be penning the script.
Although the TV series focused on a young Dora, the live-action movie will centre around the titular character as a teenager who moves to the city to live with her cousin Diego, who also had his own spin-off show ‘Go Diego Go’.
Paramount Pictures are looking to distribute the movie, as the studio is devoted to creating films from the Viacom brands including Nickelodeon – on which ‘Dora The Explorer’ aired – MTV, Comedy Central and BET.
‘Dora the Explorer’ ran for 14 years and was geared towards the younger viewers, with the franchise also branching out into dolls, video games and merchandise.
The live-action movie is slated to be released in 2019.
Although Bay has left the ‘Transformers’ franchise, a sixth still scheduled for a summer 2019 release date even though the planned blockbuster is yet to get a director.
The fifth film in the franchise ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ is the last movie to be directed by Bay who will not be returning for the next sequel.
Paramount and Hasbro, who own the rights to the brand, are moving ahead with the next movie and are confident they can find the right director to helm the project and stick to their proposed release schedule.

Tessa Thompson plays Han Solo character in Thor: Ragnarok

OHMYGOSSIP — Tessa Thompson’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ character Valkyrie was pitched as the “Han Solo of the movie”.
The 34-year-old actress will play the elite fighter in the upcoming third film in the trilogy – the latest movie in the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe – and director Taika Waititi told Thompson her character was like the iconic hero from the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
Speaking to The Independent newspaper, Thompson said: “It was quite collaborative but [Waititi] and I got on from the minute we met each other.
“He pitched Valkyrie as sort of the Han Solo of the movie and so I sort of knew the space that she wanted to occupy, and we wanted to subvert any sort of clichés in our portrayal of her. I say ‘ours’ because he was really integral to that.”
Tessa stars in the movie alongside Chris Hemsworth as the titular Thor, Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Cate Blanchett as villain Hela.
The character of Valkyrie was also recently revealed to be the first LGBT character in the MCU, when Thompson admitted she will be the first explicitly non-heterosexual character in the film franchise.
Responding to a fan question on social media, the star tweeted: “She’s bi. And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a joy to play! (sic)”
The film also marks the first time the main villain in an MCU movie is a woman, and Blanchett previously admitted she was absolutely thrilled to be given the chance to play Hela.
She said: “I didn’t realise I was inhabiting the first female Marvel villain onscreen. I thought, ‘Surely not … well, no actually that’s true.’
“There’s been many, many, many [female villains] in the comic books, but they’ve been a little tardy in bringing them to the screen, so hopefully there will be a lot more villainesses.”

Shooting starts on Venom

OHMYGOSSIP — Sony Picture’s ‘Spider-Man’ spin-off movie ‘Venom’ has started filming.
The official Twitter account for the new movie – which stars Tom Hardy as the titular alien with Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate and Reid Scott all part of the cast – has confirmed production is underway with a post of a photograph showing the cameras are rolling.
The picture shows three people – one of whom is Hardy – and was captioned: “Day 1. #Venom (sic)”
In May, Hardy was announced to play the traditional ‘Spider-Man’ villain in Sony Picture’s upcoming film focused around Eddie Brock – the first character to become the alien symbiote in the comic books – with the script penned by ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
‘Zombieland’ and ‘Gangster Squad’ director Ruben Fleischer is on board to helm the project which will be part of Sony’s Marvel Universe – which exists outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
‘Venom’ marks the first time an enemy of Spidey will be getting their own standalone movie but the character did appear in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 3’ with the character being played by Topher Grace.
The symbiote, created by David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mick Zeck, was first introduced in the comic books back in 1988 and is still a fan favourite villain and has appeared in other Marvel Comics including Iron Man, Deadpool and the Hulk. Sony had planned to release a ‘Sinister Six’ movie featuring Venom but made the decision to start off with a standalone Venom adventure.
Sony and Marvel Studios reached a deal in February 2015 to allow Spider-Man – a character to which Sony bought the rights to – to be introduced into the MCU, with Tom Holland cast in the role and appearing as Spidey in a cameo capacity in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Holland, 20, then made his first feature-length outing as the wall crawler in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, a movie which resulted in profit for Sony rather than Disney owned Marvel.
‘Venom’ is due in cinemas next October.

Cate Blanchett loved her Lycra outfit in Thor: Ragnarok

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett loved wearing skin-tight Lycra in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
The 48-year-old actress stars as villain Hela in the third standalone ‘Thor’ movie, directed by Taika Waititi, and in the movie her character wears a jet black and menacing outfit for her role as Thor’s sister, the goddess of death.
Cate admits it was brilliant to slip into the outfit each day for filming, especially now she’s getting close to reaching 50.
Speaking to Collider, Blanchett said: “It was hugely enjoyable for me. And apart from working with these guys, the chance to finally, in my deep middle age, to get fit and wear that much Lycra was really exciting for me!
“I worked with Chris Hemsworth’s trainer for 20 minutes a day, which doesn’t sound like much, but my God, it was intense.
“And Zoe Bell, who is an extraordinary actress and director in her own, was my stunt double, which made me feel blessed every day.
“She’s a great action director, so I moved from the humiliating to the exhilarating, in a matter of five days.”
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ film sees Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the titular character, alongside Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster).
The film marks the first time the main villain in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is a woman and Blanchett previously admitted she was absolutely thrilled to be given the chance to play Hela.
The actress also revealed her character’s outfit has a Medusa-style look and the blonde beauty said half of her costume was put together in post-production.

Kevin Feige hails Taika Waititi’s influence on Thor: Ragnarok

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Feige thinks Taika Waititi has helped to bring a “new sensibility” to the ‘Thor’ franchise.
The President of Marvel Studios was seeking to take the movie series in a new direction with the appointment of the 42-year-old director, and Kevin believes Taika was the perfect candidate to helm ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, which has been hailed by critics.
Kevin shared: “We wanted a new sensibility. If you look at everything Chris [Hemsworth] has done, as this character, there have been moments of humour, throughout, and we wanted to build on that.
“If you look at the movie, it’s got the epic action and it’s got Thor arguably more powerful than he’s ever been, in any of the films, with his powers going up against the Hulk, but at the same time, it’s embracing what Mr. Hemsworth does, better than anyone up until now has ever been able to see, which is expanding his acting chops to comedy, in an amazing way.”
Kevin said Taika gave the movie’s star-studded cast – which also included Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo – a freedom to explore the plot in a new and creative way.
He told Collider: “Taika gave the cast the confidence to explore that and to try things, and most of that is in the movie because it was on story, and yet, at the same time, it expanded each of their characters.”
Chris, 34, also hailed Taika’s influence, saying he brought something totally new to the franchise.
He explained: “I think we all had a vision and an idea, and a want to do something vastly different than what we’d done before, and take it to a different place.
“That meant doing away with what we knew and just reinventing it, and it all came from his crazy, wonderful brain, his inspiration, and him pushing us, every day on set.”

Julia Roberts joins Ben is Back

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts has signed up to ‘Ben is Back’.
The ‘Pretty Woman’ actress has joined the cast of the drama film alongside Lucas Hedges, who will take on the lead role of the troubled titular character who returns home unexpectedly one Christmas Eve much to the surprise of his family.
According to Deadline, the motion picture will be directed and scripted by the ‘Manchester By the Sea’ star’s father Peter Hedges.
Roberts, 49, will portray Ben’s concerned mother Holly Burns who puts on a brave face upon his return but is then tasked with doing everything she possibly can to avoid the family’s downfall in the next 24 hours.
Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson’s Color Force and Teddy Schwarzman’s Black Bear Pictures will produce the forthcoming film, with production due to get underway in December.
Roberts won a Best Actress Academy Award for her 2000 movie ‘Erin Brockovich’, but is most known for 1990 motion picture ‘Pretty Woman’ alongside Richard Gere, and she recently admitted it has taken “years” to notice just how successful the film is.
She recently said: “It is not a bad movie to have follow you around for 25-odd years. I think it takes years to realise that level of how it has been absorbed into popular culture.
“It takes this many years because those are the words that I hear the most from people. It is nice, at least it is a nice title, you know it could be worse.”
Roberts’ next role will see her star in ‘Wonder’ alongside Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay, who will play her on-screen son in the production.

Lauren Pope and Jon Clark split up

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Pope and Jon Clark have split up.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ stars have been dating on and off since falling for one another while filming the summer special in Marbella, Spain, over August, but it looks like things are firmly over now as they have decided to go their separate ways for good.
A source told The Sun Online: “Everyone keeps saying to Jon that Lauren could do better, they can’t believe she’s dating him.
“Everyone always tells him he’s so lucky and he’s really intimidated by the situation. He’s trying really hard to change, but doesn’t feel like he’s good enough for her. It’s a running joke on the show that he’s punching [above his weight] massively by dating Lauren and that’s really got inside his head. He knows she wants to settle down and I’m not sure if that’s what he wants either – he loves partying.”
It’s believed the 35-year-old beauty is “really upset” that Jon, 27, feels he’s not good enough for her – especially as she’s laid her feelings out on the line recently.
The couple’s split comes just weeks after Jon accuses bosses of the ITVBe show of attempting to “ruin” his relationship because “drama and tears” boost ratings.
He fumed: “I understand Lauren and my happiness is at the bottom of the list for what the ‘TOWIE’ team want. They obviously want the drama and tears but I’ve said so long as we are a team and stick together we will be OK.
“There’s a few people like Mario [Falcone, who dated Lauren a few years ago] who are against us as well, they need to keep their mouths shut.
“I don’t see why they need to get involved. I don’t like how Mario has been. He needs to f**k off now and realise Lauren’s nothing to do with him.”

Davood Ghadami’s daughters want Johnny Peacock to win Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Davood Ghadami’s daughters want his rival Johnny Peacock to win ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘EastEnders’ hunk has been working hard with his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova each week to ensure their ballroom and latin routines show of his fancy footwork and snakey hips to the best of his ability when he hits the dance floor at the weekend.
But, although he’s won over the hearts of the nation and raked in loads more supporters over the past few weeks, his two young daughters Eva and Grace aren’t as impressed with his moves and prefer to vote for his fellow competitor Johnny every week.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (24.10.17), he said: “I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s non-stop. I’m exhausted. The pressure is on more and more. It’s everything at the moment. My kids are obsessed by it, my family are obsessed. My daughters, Eva and Grace, I think they are embarrassed for me already. They hide behind the sofa. They are such big fans of Johnny Peacock. I’ve been making him do little messages for them. They give him at least one vote for him and three for me.”
Davood and Nadiya’s steamy routines have been the hot topic of conversation since judge Bruno Tonioli claimed they looked like they were ready for the bedroom, but the 35-year-old actor is adamant his wife Isobel takes the remarks with a pinch of salt.
He explained: “My wife is used to all that happening.
“When you are playing a character you have those bookends… with this you have the bookends of being a dancer. You are doing a job.”
And Nadiya – who used to pose for Playboy – has admitted her boyfriend doesn’t mind her rubbing against another man because he understands that she’s a dancer and it’s her job.
She added: “We are doing rumba. It’s the most difficult dance for a man to do. There are so many things going on to make it look right. My boyfriend. He’s OK with this. I am a professional dancer, he knows the way it goes.”

Emmerdale to frame wrong Emma Barton killer?

OHMYGOSSIP — Emmerdale’s executive producer Iain MacLeod has teased that the wrong character could be imprisoned for Emma Barton’s shocking death earlier this month.
Fans are desperate to find out who pushed the vindictive nurse (Gillian Kearney) over the cliff after police recently established her death as murder rather than suicide, but it looks like detectives could “bark up the wrong tree” – leading to someone being wrongly accused – before they find out the truth because so many of the villagers had motives.
Asked if the wrong person could go to prison for the crime, Iain said: “It’s a possibility. Everyone has such strong motives and as the story unfolds, there are many ambiguities surrounding who’s doing what and when they were doing it that it’s perfectly possible that the police might bark up a few wrong trees before they arrive at the correct one…”
As the list of suspects with motives continues to grow over the next coming weeks, Iain has hinted that viewers will be left baffled as one scene appears to point the finger at Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) after Emma tried to kill her and then stole her baby, while another will frame Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) as he was keen to protect his ex.
Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) could also find herself in the cop shop when police learn that she questioned Emma when she discovered she’d been manipulating her ex-husband Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) prior to his death from dementia last year.
Iain explained: “Emma stole Moira’s baby which gives Moira a massive motive. As for Cain -he’s never actually killed anyone and if he was going to it would definitely be in protection of Moira. Laurel pursued Emma earlier in the year when she discovered her manipulation of Ashley and then dropped it, but that changed when Emma clashed with Gabby and revisited her campaign of terror against Laurel’s children. So I think at times various people will be suspected by the police, and same goes for the other characters. In a court of opinion, I think the jury would be hung.”
And, although many of the other rival soaps have attempted a whodunit plot in previous years, Iain believes his will have a different vibe to it.
He told the Radiotimes.com: “I know whodunits have been done in soaps a lot but I think this one has a slightly different flavour in terms of how the reveal plays out and the way the episode is packaged.
“It also felt like a poetic end to Emma to make her exit a death and have the parallels with James’s final scene, falling from a great height. I love a good whodunit, I’m a big fan of crime fiction generally. Some of the most high profile stories in soap have been whodunits so why not do one? It’s been a while in since ‘Emmerdale’ did it.”

Sophie Faldo put weight on during Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Faldo has “put on a lot of weight” while doing ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The 34-year-old former army officer – who is one of the four finalists fighting to be crowned the champion of the competition – has admitted she piled on the pounds while practicing for the baking competition because she was one of the least experienced.
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, she said: “I put on a lot of weight and I’m only just getting back into training to get back down to my race weight for next year’s season of track bike racing. When I injured my back rowing, I switched to cycling – I actually missed the national championship this year because of ‘Bake Off’, but the year before I was the national champion for individual pursuit for my age range.”
The brunette beauty only started baking “a few years ago” and didn’t have much time to practice her kitchen technique before she went on the show because she was working as a ski instructor in the Alps when she found out she had made through to the series.
She explained: “I only started baking a few years ago. I started rowing at Sandhurst and then went into it full-time. But there isn’t much money in it, so I started baking my friends cakes for their birthdays. I don’t have a ravenous family, so I don’t bake often.”
However, Sophie believes her military career helped her when it came to dealing with the pressure in the tent and is convinced the only difference is that no one died.
She added: “It helped a lot. The skills required to work through a high-pressure situation are exactly the same. The only difference is no one will die if you muck up your cake… unless you muck it up really badly.”
Sophie will go head-to-head with Stacey Hart, Kate Lyon and Steven Carter-Bailey in the baking competition’s finale.

Lorna Fitzgerald doesn’t know how she’ll get axed from EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorna Fitzgerald “doesn’t know” how her character Abi Branning will leave ‘EastEnders’.
Fans were left devastated when they found out that the deluded wannabe vet and her sister Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) were set to be written out of the long-running soap later this year but, although bosses have teased a “dramatic and explosive” storyline for the girls, the 21-year-old actress still doesn’t know whether she’ll be killed off.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, the blonde beauty said: “It’s nice to have someone to talk about it to, and to share the burden with. We don’t know the exit storyline yet, but I’ve had a fantastic 11 yeas here, so I’m looking forward to what the future holds. I’m going to miss playing Abi though … I keep getting tagged in things on social media – like clips where Abi sings to a gerbil! Then there was a period when I was about 14 years old where I tried a side fringe and it just didn’t work! It was so bad I had to gel it down!”
And, although Lorna doesn’t have anything lined up for after her exit yet, she has admitted she’s got her eye on some theatre work and would love to make it on the West End.
She explained: “I’d love to do something really different.
“This will sound crazy, but ‘The Exorcist’ is on the West End for Halloween – imagine playing a role in that! No one could compare it to Abi – at least I hope not!”
Meanwhile, although details on Abi’s departure are being kept tightly under-wraps for the time being, it’s believed things will blow up between her and her sister Lauren over the next few weeks when the web designer finds out her sibling was besotted with her dead fiance Steven Beale and is even carrying his baby after a secret affair earlier this year.
Lorna said: “We’re building towards a big Branning Christmas, and it’ll be explosive. It could even top the one with Max (Branning, played by Jake Wood) and Stacey’s (Fowler, played by Lacey Turner) affair [in 2007] being exposed by that infamous DVD.”

Brian Conley’s Strictly exit felt like ‘funeral’

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley burst out into a light-hearted rant over the weekend on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because the atmosphere resembled a “funeral” after he was given the axe.
The 56-year-old comedian hit the headlines earlier this week after it was revealed that he had lunged on to the judges’ podium, branded Darcey Bussell “the horny one” and slammed producers for only spending £25 on the toilet after he was given the chop from the ballroom and latin show after he failed to impress in the dance off.
But the funny man has admitted his bizarre outburst was merely to liven up the studio as everyone seemed so sombre after he was booted out of the competition.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (24.10.17), he explained: “It was like a funeral and I just wanted to diffuse the situation. Typical me, I’m an entertainer, I make people laugh. [The host] Tess [Daly] said, ‘Thank you very much go over there’. I said, ‘Tess, I haven’t finished.’ The judges looked so miserable and upset that I said, ‘I want you all to know, I love this man’, talking to Craig [Revel Horwood]. Darcey [Bussell] was really emotional and she looked really upset, so I didn’t know what to say to cheer her up, [so I said] ‘Darcey, you’re very horny’. And of course everyone laughed and it was a bit of fun. [I said] ‘Shirley [Ballas], you’re a legend’.
“And then I said, ‘There’s one thing that really upsets me being on this show… is the toilets’. Everyone thought I was going to say something profound. I went, ‘It’s the toilets, they’ve got to sort them out. Just buy ten quid’s worth of bleach to get rid of that smell’ and that was that.
“Then I thanked my brother [Alan], because my brother is of course the floor manager, and he’s been there right from the beginning.
“I said, ‘The wonderful thing about being on this show is that every single person has come up to me and said I love your brother’. It meant so much and it made me realise how loved and respected he was on the show.
“I didn’t have a rant. I was having a laugh. And that’s all it was. It was a wonderful time. I said, ‘Tess, you can tell me to go and have a dance now’, she went: ‘Brian, go and have a dance’ and I did. I just wanted to diffuse everything.
“I wanted to go, alright, let’s not be down. I don’t want to finish on a down, I know I’m out, but let’s just bring it up now. Typical me. Just wanted to have some fun.”
Brian found himself in the dreaded dance-off on Sunday’s results show and, consequently given the boot, after his Jive – which he performed alongside professional partner Amy Dowden – failed to win over the judges when put up against chef Simon Rimmer’s Charleston.
Speaking after the results were announced, Brian showered his professional partner with kind words, though not before he joked he was talking about fellow contestant Aston Merrygold.
He said: “I have loved everything about this, I truly have. It’s one of the greatest shows, it’s a family show, and you know what? There’s been someone by my side all the way through this journey who’s been there every moment, and that is Aston. I love him.
“No! I love this lady [Amy]. I wanted to be on this show forever and ever because I want everyone out there to know how special this lady is. She’s a star, and I love her.”

Chelsee Healey to return to Hollyoaks this month

OHMYGOSSIP — Chelsee Healey will return to ‘Hollyoaks’ later the month.
The 29-year-old actress is currently on maternity leave after she gave birth to her daughter Coco three months ago, but fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see Goldie McQueen – a role she’s played since last year – back on screens as she has admitted she will be making an appearance in two episodes over the next few weeks.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “I am coming back to ‘Hollyoaks’.
“I’m coming back for two episodes the end of this month, and then full-time in January, so they’re easing me back in. I keep messaging my agent to find out scripts, but I’m hoping Goldie can come back with dark hair, because I can’t be a**ed with that red f**king wig. I keep saying to Brian (Kirkwood, the show’s executive producer), because she’s been on the run she needs a bit of a change.”
And, although she can’t wait to get stuck back into filming again, the brunette beauty may not be around for too much longer as she’s keen to have another baby with her boyfriend Jack Molloy as Coco has been such a good child and already sleeps through the night.
She explained: “She’s [Coco] been amazing, really good, sleeps right through. She’s slept really good since she was born. I’m really lucky. She’s really coming into her own now, which is amazing. I don’t want her to grow up. I want her to stay as a baby but she’s honestly unbelievable. I never imagined the feeling she’d give me. She’s made me very content. I wouldn’t say any time soon but definitely I want more. I never wanted any but now I’ve got Coco, I want another!”

The X Factor will dump 5 acts over two weeks

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘X Factor’ will dump five acts over the next two weeks as part of a dramatic shake up.
This year’s series of the popular singing show has been more brutal and unexpected than in recent years as bosses are determined to save sinking ratings, but it looks like they will go to new heights over the next few weeks as they’re set to ditch a handful of contestants in one go to ensure only the best of the best make it to the end.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “With 16 contestants and only six weeks of live shows to get through, the eliminations are going to be coming thick and fast.
“But this is set to be a very harsh introduction to ‘The X Factor’ process with so many heading home so quickly.
“Producers are still finalising the plans, even with the first live show just days away.”
The new rules will see two acts from each category perform this Saturday (28.10.17) and the remaining two taking to the stage the day after – meaning those who fail to secure enough votes from the public will be packing their bags and heading home.
The cruel new twist is just one of many things bosses have set up for the forthcoming weeks to ensure they keep viewers interested and tuning in every week from now on.
A source said recently: “Ratings plummeted and Simon knew a drastic revamp was needed. The Saturday night show became so tedious as there was rarely any drama which an eviction would bring. ITV believes transforming it is the right decision.”
Bosses also changed the way the wannabe pop stars auditioned for the show over the summer as they restricted the amount of joke acts progressing after Honey G made it through to the final last year and encouraged people to sing original songs.

Jake Wood renews vows

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Wood has renewed his vows.
The ‘EastEnders’ hunk – who is known for playing loveable bad boy Max Branning in the long-running soap – and his wife Alison Wood threw a Wed Fest earlier this month in a field in Hertfordshire to celebrate 23 years to the day they met.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the 45-year-old actor said: “We obviously love each other a lot but also we’ve always wanted the same things. You’ve got to work hard at it and you’ve got to talk. Alison’s taught me that.
“We always have a date night once a week when we just hang out, catch up and talk. It’s a chance for us to check in with one another to make sure we’re still on track.
“We’re not soppy but we know we love each other a lot. Alison means the world to me. I feel incredibly lucky to have been with such an amazing woman for so long and I’m looking forward to the next 23 years.”
The couple – who have been married 16 years – celebrated their special day with their children Amber, 12, and Buster, nine, and 220 close friends and co-stars.
He explained: “[I invited] just the ones I’m closest to and work with all the time.
“I’ve known Steve McFadden for years. We don’t get much of a chance to all hang out together socially because we’ve all got families, but we’ll have the occasional night out.
“I’m really fond of Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne [her husband]. They’re an awesome couple and I’m really pleased they’re in our lives.”
The guests were treated to Sri Lankan curry, pizzas, hog roast and doughnuts as well as a performance from Alison Hammond, who sang ‘Mustang Sally’, in the tent.
Jake added: “Alison Hammond sang ‘Mustang Sally’. She’s got an amazing voicw ao that was an unexpected treat. We’ve got lots of friends who are musicians such as Ricky Wilde, so we had a great singsong.”
