Ben Mendelsohn eyed as villain in Captain Marvel

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Mendelsohn is being lined up to play the villain in the ‘Captain Marvel’ movie.
The 48-year-old actor is best known for starring as antagonist Orson Krennic in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and now he is being lined up to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain in the upcoming movie, Variety reports.
Although it is not confirmed who Mendelsohn will play, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently teased that the alien group known as the Skrulls would feature in ‘Captain Marvel’.
The aliens first appeared in ‘Fantastic Four #2’ and are known for their shape-shifting abilities. Originally peaceful at first, they eventually became more aggressive and have tried to conquer Earth using their powers and have continually caused problems for the Marvel heroes.
The movie will star Brie Larson as the titular character with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck helming.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet wrote the script with ‘Inside Out’ scribe Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman who penned previous drafts.
‘Captain Marvel’ was created by writer Roy Thomas and designed by artist Gene Colan back in 1968 and follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien in an accident.
The resulting alteration imbues her with super strength, energy projection and flight.
Not much else is known about the movie at the time of reporting but Feige announced at the San Diego Comic Con this year that the film will be set in the 90s.
This will be set before the events of the ‘Avengers’ movie and Samuel L. Jackson is expected to reprise his as Nick Fury.
The 68-year-old actor was last seen as the one-eyed super-spy in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ back in 2015, and prior to that he was shot and hospitalised in ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ a year before.
But Jackson has been absent from following films despite being the main recruiter of the ‘Avengers’, but recently said he doesn’t know if he is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers 4’.

Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson reunite on film

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to star in a new movie with his filmmaker wife Sam Taylor-Johnson helming the production.
The 27-year-old actor married the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ filmmaker in 2012 and the two previously worked together on ‘Nowhere Boy’ back in 2009, but now the husband and wife duo are set to work with each other again.
Sam, 50, will be adapting the James Frey’s book ‘A Million Little Pieces’ which gained traction after it was featured on Oprah Winfrey’s book club, The Hollywood Reporter claimed.
The book was originally sold as a memoir and later marketed as a semi-fictional novel following accusations of literary forgery.
It tells the story of a 23-year-old alcoholic and drug abuser and deals with how he copes with rehabilitation in a 12 steps-orientated treatment centre.
Originally Warner Bros. shelved the project after it won the rights and was set it up with producer Brad Pitt and his then-Plan B partners Jennifer Aniston and Brad Grey.
In May, Sam talked about a secret project she is working on with her husband, and said: “We are already parents that run our house, so when we together it’s the best.”
Aaron recently admitted he is very proud of his wife – who has kids Angelica, 20, and Jessie, 12, from a previous marriage, and Wylda, six, and five-year-old Romy with her actor husband – and her creative vision and is a huge fan of the ‘Gypsy’ director’s work.
He gushed: “She’s a visionary and an artist, and so she can have such high concepts and ideas and naturally as an optimistic person. There’s very cynical people in the world, and it’s easy to be in that position and Sam can overcome the rise to that and overcome that
“There are ideas where people think, ‘Oh, that’s not possible, and in her mind, it’s just like, ‘Oh, that’s the way you feel about it but I’ll still somehow figure out a way and that’s why she is who she is and that’s why she’s very good at it.’ ”

Josh Brolin promises more ‘action’ in Deadpool 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Brolin “got beat to s**t” during the making of ‘Deadpool 2’.
The 49-year-old actor stars as the mutant soldier Cable in the much-anticipated sequel to the 2016 Marvel movie, and Josh has promised there will be more “action” in the new film.
He explained: “I had heard somewhere along the line, and I think it’s okay for me to say this, but I heard somewhere along the line that they felt the first ‘Deadpool’ didn’t have enough action. I don’t know who said that or why they said that or even if I felt that.
“I don’t think I did because I loved the first ‘Deadpool’. I thought it was really kind of irreverent, and amazing, and intelligent, and turned everything on its head, and I appreciated it. With this movie, it’s just a different deal.”
Josh admitted he was pushed to the limit of his physical fitness on the set of the sequel, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller and Brianna Hildebrand.
Josh is, therefore, confident that the upcoming film will address the criticisms of the original movie.
Speaking to Collider, Josh – who saw off stiff competition to secure the role of Cable – explained: “I got beat to s**t on that movie. That’s all I know. I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place. I’ve got a shoulder issue, I’ve got a knee issue that I’ve got to deal with now, but we got through it.
“We got through it. I pushed hard and I suffered because of it.”

Charlotte Crosby to return to Geordie Shore?

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby has hinted that she may return to ‘Geordie Shore’.
The 27-year-old reality TV star quit the boozy show last year following five years on screen because she didn’t want to be around her ex-boyfriend Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle anymore following her ectopic pregnancy in the spring of 2016, but it looks like the brunette beauty is planning to rejoin the cast now that the hunk has walked away from the series.
Taking to his twitter account last night (24.10.17), Charlotte’s former co-star Nathan Henry wrote: “@Charlottegshore I CANNOT WAIT to see you and @HollyGShore I’m going to make you laugh so hard, and shower you with love (sic)”
Holly Hagan also shared a video of her and Charlotte prancing around in a mirror and accompanied it with the caption: “BACK TOGETHER @Charlottegshore (sic)”
Charlotte’s return to Newcastle comes just days after she split from her boyfriend Stephen Bear and accused him of snogging another girl just 48 hours later.
She fumed at the time: “I can’t believe stuck by someone for so long…for it to take 48 hours for them to be necking on with someone in a club
“In front of everyone [applause emoji] (sic)”
Charlotte also wrote: “When you try and tell every1 some1 is different and you have there back thru and thru. And they go and prove you wrong (sic)”
Although it’s not yet been confirmed that Charlotte has returned to ‘Geordie Shore’, it’s believed she’ll be much more inclined to film with the old cast now that Gaz has decided to step away from the cameras after he found out he is to be a father.
The 29-year-old hunk announced his decision to bow out of the show earlier this month because he wanted to focus on the forthcoming birth of his baby son and be there to support his girlfriend Emma McVey rather than going out boozing every night.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Mecklenburgh lives by the “80/20 rule”.
The former ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star loves having her friends over for a girly night in, and though she enjoys splashing out on a takeaway, she tries to ensure she carefully balances out healthy foods with “indulgences”.
She said: “I love having friends round and ordering food in, so it’s important to me that everyone is catered for. I live by the 80/20 rule – most of the time I’m really healthy and I balance it out with a bit of indulgence here and there.”
The 26-year-old beauty has teamed up with Italian restaurant chain, Zizzi, to launch their extensive new dine-out offering, and created her own Zizzi Edit of her ideal menu, including arancini, super zucca salad, manzo rustica pizza, baked lemon and raspberry cheesecake, and sticky chocolate and praline torte.
She added: “I’ll usually order a lovely selection of salads, pizza and pastas, with a bottle of red wine. Zizzi takeaway means you get delicious food delivered to your door without compromising on taste, appearance or experience – and it helps that the packaging is as Instagrammable as the food!”

EastEnders’ Janet Mitchell fights for life after car accident

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Janet Mitchell will be left fighting for her life next week after she’s accidentally mowed down by Tina Carter on the spookiest night of the year.
Honey Mitchell – played by Emma Barton – will be left in a frantic panic on the night of Halloween (31.10.17) when she finds out her down syndrome daughter escaped from Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) eerie kids’ party, was knocked down by the cafe worker (Luisa Bradshaw-White) in her car and is now battling to stay alive in hospital.
A source told Inside Soap magazine: “Honey leaves Janet in Jack and Ingrid’s care – so you can imagine her horror when she returns to the party and realises that her daughter is missing. It’s dark and cold outside on the eeriest night of the year – so all manner of scenarios enters her mind as she looks for Janet. Nothing can prepare Honey for the sight that awaits her when she eventually finds her girl.”
However, to make matters worse, Tina is completely oblivious to the fact she’s run over Janet and, instead, is convinced she hit Dot Cotton’s (June Brown) moggy Dave.
The insider explained: “When the penny finally drops, Tina feels sick to her stmach. If she had known that she’d hit Janet, then she would have stopped her car and called for an ambulance straight away. She’s not the sort of person who would leave anyone – let alone a little girl – in that situation … Tina is horrified at the thought of mowing down Dot’s pet moggy, so she flees the scene and doesn’t look back. But of course it isn’t Dave that had been struck – it’s poor Janet.”
It’s not yet known whether Tina will confess her part in the accident or whether little Janet will survive the ordeal.

Simon Rimmer injures quad ahead of Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Rimmer hasn’t started learning his dance for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Halloween special this weekend.
The 54-year-old celebrity chef only has two days to perfect his Viennese Waltz to Tom Jones’ ‘Delilah’ with his professional dance partner Karen Clifton after he was banned from putting any weight on his thigh because he’d injured his quad following his dramatic fall in the dance-off against Brian Conley last weekend.
Speaking on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ spin-off ‘It Takes Two’, Simon said: “I’ve got a bit of pain in my quad, so my lovely physio Doug has strapped me up to keep the muscle in place and hopefully it’ll sort itself out.”
Karen, 35, added: “It is really tough because these guys have never danced before and it’s pretty intense on your muscles, so if something like that happens it’s really hard to recover from it. But hopefully you’ll be OK.”
Asked whether he’s started training for this weekend’s performance, Simon replied: “No, this has got to calm down a little bit really, that’s the only thing. This has got to be eased off a little bit.”
And, although Karen is slightly concerned that they won’t be ready in time, the brunette beauty is confident that Simon will work really hard over the next two days to ensure he performs to the best of his ability.
She said: “[it does worry me] a little bit, yeah. That leaves us two days to get everything together. But, you know, he’s a hard worker and he’s very focused, so I’m OK … for now!”
The ‘Sunday Brunch’ presenter worried fans yesterday (24.10.17) when he took to his Instagram account to tell his followers that he was about to undergo a treatment to heal his quad as quickly as possible.
Alongside a photograph of him walking into a freezer, he said: “Today Doug Jones at Althius physio will do more cryochamber therapy on my damaged quad. COOOOOOLD X (sic)”

Lauren Goodger approached for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger has been approached for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star has watched her ex-fiance Mark Wright’s career catapult over the past few months after he landed a presenting gig on the US TV show ‘Extra’, and she’s so desperate to follow in his footsteps that she’s toying with the idea of signing up to the creepy-crawly series after he was runner-up in 2011.
A source told Closer magazine: “She’s hell-bent on going one better than Mark and becoming more famous than him, she says she won’t give up until she is. Lauren is considering ‘Celebs Go Dating’ but she’s also been asked to go on ‘I’m A Celeb…’
“She’s been hinting that she’s thinking about it and is desperate to return to TV. She’d love a celebrity romance in the jungle so she can relaunch herself.”
The 31-year-old beauty hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to her love life over the years as she was left heartbroken when Mark, 30, dumped her and then married Michelle Keegan in 2015 and then, most recently, she split from her jailbird boyfriend Joey Morrison after his prison sentence was extended until next year.
But the brunette star may be about to meet her prince charming as producers of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ approached her earlier this month about taking part next year.
An insider said recently: “Lauren’s been for meetings at the production company that makes the show – they’re really keen to sign her up. She makes great TV, she’s really popular, and she’s been unlucky in love so far.
“Everyone would love to see Lauren get set up with someone special – she’s had such bad luck with men in the past, the dating agency could really help her out.”
Lauren dumped Joey – who she was in a relationship with for 18 months – after his sentence was extended following an “incident” behind bars but, although she’s devastated by their split, she feels like she’s finally back to her old self now they’re over.

Ferne McCann to give birth on TV?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann is reportedly planning to give birth on television.
The ‘This Morning’ showbiz presenter has been documenting her pregnancy over the past few months for her 90-minute special ‘First Time Mum’ and, although it was believed the cameras would stop rolling as soon as she goes into labour, she’s had a sudden change of heart and is now keen to film her little one being born into the world.
A source told The Sun Online: “Ferne has got an all-female team on standby ready for the baby to make an appearance, made up of friends and birthing partners, midwives and an all lady TV crew at the ready. There are discussions, but it might not happen.
“If it happens, it’ll be a warts and all show – nothing will be missed. But if she does change her mind, the cameras will stop running full stop.”
The 27-year-old reality TV star hasn’t been seen on screens since she confirmed her pregnancy and spoke out about her baby’s father Arthur Collins allegedly throwing acid at party revellers earlier this year, but she is set to make a return to the brunch time show over the next few weeks to talk about her impending labour.
A source said recently: “Ferne still has some filming commitments and she is set to return back soon.
“She’ll talk about her pregnancy and give viewers an update on how she’s doing. Viewers are keen to know what the latest with her given the audience it attracts.
“Ferne had a difficult decision to make about putting her pregnancy on screen, but in the end she couldn’t resist the offers. Her pal Sam Faiers and Made in Chelsea’s Binky Felstead have proven that baby shows can be a smart career move.”
Ferne was forced to announce her pregnancy early after Arthur was arrested on suspicion of involvement in an acid attack at London nightclub Mangle in April.
The brunette beauty dumped her now-former flame almost immediately but admitted at the time that the incident had added extra stress to her pregnancy.

Gemma Collins was given BBC warning

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins was given a “full briefing” before going on stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday (22.10.17).
The 36-year-old TV star was left nursing a bad back and bruises after she dramatically fell through a trap door, from which a hydraulic platform lifted out ‘Love Island’s Amber Davies, Jamie Jewitt and Marcel Somerville, at the SSE Arena, Wembley, and though she previously claimed she “didn’t even know” about the hazard, it has now been claimed she was aware and had been “warned” about the hole.
The BBC told MailOnline: “The BBC takes the health and safety of everyone involved very seriously and we are awaiting a full report from Remedy – the production company who made the show – about the incident. But they have told us that Gemma did receive a full briefing before going on stage.”
And a source added: “Before Gemma went on the female producer told her there was a trap door in the middle of the stage. The [producer] told Gemma to stay to the left. It’s not true that Gemma wasn’t warned about it.”
Gemma previously claimed she was going to sue the BBC because she feared she would die or been left disabled following the incident.
She said: “I’m in total shock. It is a miracle I am living to tell the tale.
“I could have died or at least been disabled at the end of it. I could have been legless. Legless!
“I’m not being funny, I didn’t even get a tenner for turning up. I didn’t even know there was a hole there.
“To be honest when it happened I didn’t know where I was, what day of the week it was. No joke, my life did flash before my eyes. I thought I was dead.
“People couldn’t see it, but underneath the stage there’s a lot of machinery and the ‘Love Island’ people were coming up on a platform.
“When I actually went down into the pit, they were screaming, ‘Get her up because her legs are going to get crushed, her legs are going to get crushed’.”
Gemma also claimed that no one at the BBC has apologised for the incident, and she confirmed she plans to pursue the issue with her lawyer.
She said: “I’ve got to consult a lawyer, yeah. The BBC, they’ve not been in touch with any compensation or anything – or even an apology.
“It’s very important this gets sorted out because really you know what it is – it’s negligence. Do you know what I find shocking? The BBC hasn’t sent any flowers. Nothing.”

Jason Gardiner returning to Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Gardiner is returning to ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The Australian choreographer – who was known for his cutting remarks on the skating competition – is delighted to be returning to the judging panel and vowed to be as “honest” as ever because he thinks his blunt comments are a great motivator.
He said: “I’m honest, I always call it as i see it but when they’re good, I give them great praise and I think I help them to improve a lot.”
In a change to the format, the 45-year-old star will be joined on the judging panel by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and Jason is looking forward to seeing how the “skating royalty” – who previously mentored the contestants – get on in their different position.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, he said: “Its going to be wonderful to see that, there’s no question they are ice skating royalty, their credentials back up but it’s the first time they judge. it is quite difficult to be a good judge on the show and remain impartial.”
Though the celebrity line-up hasn’t yet been revealed, Jason has promised not to go into the show with any preconceptions.
He said: “I’m not going in with preconceived ideas of how I’m going to be, you have to be there and assess it int hat moment, it’s only fair to the contestants to go in there being open. being a judge isn’t necessarily who I am but it’s a role I’ve got to do to get my point across.”
Though Jason can be hard on the contestants, he thinks they should be applauded just for agreeing to take part because it’s such a tough competition.
He said: “It’s one of the hardest and the commitment is intense so let’s not discount what they have to go through. we have seen some remarkable people pass through ‘Dancing on Ice’ and to see that journey is wonderful.
“And also the Todd Cartys, who have gone through the tunnel and disappeared into oblivion, but it’s an exciting show to do.”
Joining Jason, Jayne and Christopher on the judging panel will be Ashley Banjo.

Saara Aalto quits Simon Cowell’s record label

OHMYGOSSIP — Saara Aalto has quit Simon Cowell’s record label.
The ‘X Factor’ 2016 finalist has decided to cut ties with Sony as she didn’t think they were the “right team” for her and has now moved across to rival Warner – who she has signed a global deal with – because they’re keen to make her a “big theatrical artist.”
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “I was honoured I was signed to Sony. But later I felt like they weren’t the right team. When I met the people at Warner they were very excited about my style and making me into this big theatrical artist.”
Despite her switch, the 30-year-old Finnish beauty is adamant there is no bad blood between her and Simon as she’s going to be a judge on ‘The X Factor’ in Finland.
She added: “He knows. I’m doing ‘X Factor Finland’, so I’m still part of the Sony family.”
However, the brunette beauty’s intense work schedule – on TV and in the studio – has meant that she and her long-term girlfriend Meri Sopanen – who got engaged last summer – have been forced to put their wedding plans on hold for the time being.
She said recently: “We wanted to have the wedding next year. But it might be too late to book that now. We don’t have time to plan it! I did see some photos online yesterday and sent them [to Meri] but that’s sort of it.
“It’s crazy to think that a year ago I was auditioning for X Factor UK. Since that my whole life has changed. Doing the tour was amazing. I never thought that this could happen to a Finnish girl. Dreams can come true!”

Jake Quickenden to join Dancing on Ice?

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden is reportedly set to star on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 29-year-old reality TV star – who was also a contestant on the ninth and eleventh series of ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 and 2014 – is poised to appear on the revamped show when it returns to the air following a three-year break.
A source said: “Jake was a massive hit with the ladies during his stints on ‘The X Factor’ and ‘I’m A Celeb’.
“Producers want him to bring the eye-candy to ’Dancing On Ice’ too. He hasn’t got any skating experience but is already super-confident.”
Jake’s fearless attitude is seen as a major draw for TV bosses, and there’s a perception that he’ll happily take on whatever challenge is put before him.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: “He’s fearless and they feel they’ll be able to push him week after week.”
Despite his outwardly confident appearance, Jake recently admitted he splashed out £5,000 on a hair transplant because he was “terrified” he’d look like Phil Mitchell.
The dark-haired hunk revealed he’d started feeling “paranoid” about his tresses every time he left the house.
He said: “I was terrified that I’d look like Phil Mitchell.
“I’ve got a hairline like Dracula with two triangles at the front. It has been in my mind for five years.
“Even when I was on ‘X Factor’ it used to take me so long to get ready because I’d think it was showing.
“I was so paranoid about it, I started buying sprays for my scalp to make it dark so you couldn’t tell.”

Tamzin Outhwaite re-joins EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamzin Outhwaite is to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 46-year-old actress will reprise her role as Melanie Owen in 2018, nearly 16 years after she last appeared as the character, and the star admitted she simply “couldn’t refuse” an offer to return to Albert Square.
She said: “When I got the call from John Yorke, the show’s creative director, I just couldn’t refuse. John created Mel’s most memorable storylines so it is an honour he has asked me to return.
“‘EastEnders’ is in my DNA and I always knew deep down that someday I would revisit Mel – she is a strong, independent woman with lots more stories to tell. To be stepping back into the character’s shoes nearly 20 years after I first stated feels perfect.”
While ‘EastEnders’ bosses are remaining tight-lipped about Mel’s returning plot, creative director John teased fans they can expect an “incredible storyline”.
He said: “It’s particularly exciting to welcome her back to Walford for an incredible storyline – one that will awaken a lot of old ghosts, some great memories, and whole new series of adventures.
“We’re thrilled and flattered to have Tamzin home and can’t wait to reveal where she’s been, and who Melanie Owen is now.”
Mel had a number of exciting storylines, including marrying Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in a joint Millennium wedding with Barry (Shaun Williamson) and Natalie Evans (Lucy Speed) on New Year’s Eve 1999.
But it didn’t last long as she dumped him hours later when the clock struck midnight after finding out he’d lied his daughter Lucy had a terminal illness to stop her leaving him.
Mel departed Walford in April 2002 after being implicated in the crimes of her late gangster husband Steve Owen, who was played by Martin Kemp.
Facing a lengthy prison sentence, she fled the country for Portugal with the £30,000 bail money Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had put up for her.
Before she left, Mel also found out she was pregnant with Steve’s baby and that her best friend Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) had shot Phil.
Lisa and her daughter Louise Mitchell – who is now portrayed by Tilly Keeper – went to live with Mel in Portugal later that year.
Since departing ‘EastEnders’, Tamzin has appeared in several TV shows, including alongside Max Beesley in ‘Hotel Babylon’ in 2006, and she starred opposite Nicholas Lyndhurst in ‘New Tricks’, in which she played DCI Sasha Miller for two years.
