Third Downton Abbey film is in development

OHMYGOSSIP — A third ‘Downton Abbey’ film is in the works.
Production on the period drama – the latest big-screen spin-off from the TV series that aired on ITV between 2010 and 2015 – is due to start within months.
The same cast and crew – including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter and Michelle Dockery – are expected to shoot at Highclere Castle in Hampshire this summer ahead of release in 2025.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “This will be huge news for fans of the show who have remained just as addicted to ‘Downton’ long after it went from telly drama to movie blockbuster.
“There has been endless speculation about whether there would be a third movie and when it would be released, but finally devotees have had their prayers answered.
“The first two films proved such a success that a third one seemed inevitable, but the biggest problem was the logistics of bringing the cast back together as their diaries are all so packed.”
‘Downton Abbey’ has been adapted into two movies but Bonneville – who stars as the Earl of Grantham – cast doubt on the possibility of a third picture after the release of the sequel ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ in 2022 as he felt that the story had “probably run its course”.
The 60-year-old star told ScreenRant: “This is a fictional world, because I don’t think there will be another one. I was thinking for a while that [there] would be; we’re all up for it, and let’s go. But I think it’s probably run its course now. And it’s been a fantastic 12 years on and off that we’ve visited this family. But I think probably enough is enough.
“Were it to carry on, I don’t know where it would go next. On the basis that each of the last few iterations has been roughly taking place in a year, or during a year, we’d be in 1929.
“What happens then? It’s the Wall Street crash, and the gaiety of the 20s is going to come crashing to a halt. So, it’d be pretty potentially pretty gloomy. I don’t know.”

‘A way to elevate the franchise’: Cillian Murphy in the running to be the next James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy is in contention to be the next James Bond.
007 bosses are still searching for a new leading man after Daniel Craig bowed out as the spy in 2021’s ‘No Time To Die’ and the ‘Oppenheimer’ star has caught the eye after his performance in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster – which could land him the Oscar for Best Actor this weekend.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Cillian is the toast of Hollywood right now and this would be the ultimate role.
“This is a way to elevate the Bond franchise with an actor who is at the very top of his game.”
Work on the next Bond flick isn’t due to begin until next year at the earliest but Cillian, 47, has been backed to play the legendary spy by his ‘Oppenheimer’ co-star Clay Bunker – who believes he will bring a darker edge to the suave character.
Clay said: “He would fare beautifully.
“It’s funny because Cillian is the nicest human but has that dark side and there’s a darkness to Bond.
“We forget that sometimes Bond is like the character (Ian) Fleming created – a pretty dark character. He just happens to be on the side we call good. Cillian has the ability to tap into that.
“We’ve seen that in something like ‘Peaky Blinders’, even in Batman when he is playing Scarecrow – the myriad of other films he’s done. But he himself has goodness.”
The actor added: “He’s got a focus thing, which is very James Bond as well. When he’s on a mission, he can do it.
“Cillian has tapped into all that. He can do anything.”
Fellow ‘Oppenheimer’ star Christina Hogue says that the conclusion of ‘No Time To Die’ provides the perfect opportunity to introduce Cillian as the new 007.
She said: “It leaves the canvas wide open for something entirely new.
“And when Daniel Craig did it, he was breaking a mould.”

He told the Mirror: “I don’t want to be in my final chapter, I want to live. I want to enjoy myself. I don’t want to die. But then it makes sense that you get to this age and think, why not? Life’s too short. I’ve lost some people in my life recently and that changes you.
“I went to two funerals. Yeah, It’s a reality check, for sure. It makes you think about what life is all about. It makes you rethink what’s important and what you care about. Losing friends makes you think about your own mortality.”

Kerry Katona admits she is desperate to go into CBB house as she makes SHOCK winner prediction

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona “really wants” to go back into the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The 43-year-old star finished in second place on the hit reality show in 2011 when it aired on Channel 5 but is “loving” the ITV1 reboot and even though she is good friends with ”Ibiza Weekender’ star David Potts, she thinks that ‘This Morning’ legend Fern Britton could win the whole show, whilst she “feels sorry” for Catherine, Princess of Wales’ uncle Gary Goldsmith as he faces eviction.
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, she said: “Oh my God, I am loving ‘Big Brother’ so much. I want to go there, I get proper FOMO. I really just want to be in there. I feel really sorry for Gary, I think give him another chance and I think Fern could win this. She’s just so sweet and lovely.
“Obviously, I want David to win it because David is a real dear friend of mine and I’m rooting for David to win it. But I love it, I absolutely it.”
The former Atomic Kitten singer slurred her words in a memorable appearance on ‘This Morning’ in 2009 and although she has always claimed it was the result of her medication, then-host Fern, alongside Phillip Schofield, became increasingly concerned that she was under the influence of alcohol.
To this day, Kerry has insisted that was not the case and admitted that her prediction could therfore come as a “surprise” as she claimed she had “fallen in love” with Fern by watching her in the house.
She added: “I think Fern has got a good chance of this because she’s gonna so consistent throughout it all and she’s a mother hen.
“She’s so lovely in there and I know a lot of people might be surprised by me saying this but I don’t know, it’s like I’m falling in love with Fern Britton.
“It’s strange that, isn’t it? But I do think Fern could win this.”

Gladiators semi final pulled from BBC schedule

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiators’ has been pulled from the BBC’s schedule next weekend.
The iconic gameshow – which originally aired on ITV in the 1990s – has been a hit with viewers since the revival started airing on BBC One earlier this year, but fans will have to wait a bit longer for an upcoming semi-final.
On March 16, the show has been bumped from its usual Saturday evening timeslot in favour of the broadcaster’s FA Cup coverage.
Instead, the channel will air the quarter-final match between Manchester City and Newcastle United.
Immediately after the game, ‘Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel’ will air followed by episodes of ‘Pointless Celebrities’ and ‘Casualty’.
It means, with just three episode left, ‘Gladiators’ fans will be left waiting for the second semi-final, but it’s believed it will simply air the following week on March 23.
The first series of the revival is yet to conclude, but it’s been reported that the BBC is already in talks to recommission the series for a big money deal ahead of filming later this year.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “There are already plans to make another series.
“The new episodes are due to be filmed this summer.”
The classic show initially ran for eight series from 1992 to 2000 on ITV, before a short-lived revival on Sky One with two series across 2008 and 2009.
Bradley Walsh and his son, actor Barney Walsh, are co-hosting the BBC reboot, and ‘The Chase’ presenter recently revealed his wife and Barney’s mum, Donna Derby, used to choreograph the cheerleaders on the original series.
He previously told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Barney’s mum, my wife, used to choreograph all the cheerleaders and then subsequently became an associate producer on the show for all the boys that ran the show originally.”

Celebrity Big Brother’s Colson Smith eyes presenting career

OHMYGOSSIP — Colson Smith is in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ to win it and hopes it opens doors for his dream presenting career.
The 25-year-old actor – who is best known for his role as Craig Tinker on ‘Coronation Street’ – hopes to go all the way in the rebooted ITV reality show after his former co-star Ellie Leach (Faye Windass) won BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
He is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “If I’m doing the show, I want to get as much of the experience as I can.
“So I want to be there for the final day. I think my gutting thing would be is if I was out early – if you’re doing it, you might as well do it properly. I can never do Strictly can I now Ellie’s gone and won that! It would be mint to win Big Brother though. It’d just be a mint picture of Ellie with the glitterball and me stood there being the Big Brother winner. It’d be like Craig and Faye have done well for themselves.”
Colson admitted he got his agent in touch with his mum for “damage limitation” should ‘Corrie’ want to let him go amid his stint in the ‘CBB’ house.
He added: “I love Corrie.
“It’s a national institution and the small part that I play in it, I’m so lucky to do it. But, I love being myself, you know. I never want to leave the show, but any opportunities I get as Colson, I’m going to take.”
Colson hopes that he can going into presenting and keep his role on the iconic soap opera.
He went on: “I kind of want to present. That’s kind of my dream career, so if that opportunity came and I could stay as Craig, it’d be perfect. But it’s just a case of seeing what happens. I’m very fortunate and super lucky. I know whatever opportunities come, Corrie are always gonna support and help me.”

Claudia Winkleman almost turned down The Traitors

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman almost turned down her role hosting ‘The Traitors’ because of her “innate laziness”.
The 52-year-old TV presenter joined the BBC series when it launched in 2022 and returned for a second season this year, but Claudia has now admitted she nearly said no to the job because she didn’t want to spend almost a month in Scotland and only changed her mind after watching the original Dutch version of the show.
When asked about the role during an appearance on the ‘Dish with Waitrose’ podcast, Claudia admitted it was her “innate laziness” that almost cost her the job. She explained: “[I almost turned it down] because of my innate laziness … I was like, ‘I’m really sorry I can’t go to Scotland for three and a half weeks, but thank you so much for thinking of me. And why don’t you ask the following people? Thank you, bye’.
“And they said, ‘Just before you say definite no, can we just send you the tapes of the Dutch version?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, okay, I really won’t get round to [watching it’ … and then four days later, ‘Have you watched it yet?’ I was like, ‘No … I am napping’.”
However, when she finally got around to watching the show, she breezed through the whole series in one day. She added: “I watched all twelve In one sitting, which … was major because I have to be … I’m asleep at nine.
“So, and I was like, cannot come to bed. And then, yeah, and I texted my boss at the BBC … and I said, ‘I’ll book my own train. Yeah, I’m coming. I’m going to Inverness’.”
Claudia went on to admit she was “overwhelmed” by the success of the first series, and then dished some details about how they make sure the contestants don’t confer once they leave the set.
She explained: “Everybody is man-marked, they have somebody who is looking after them, and when they leave the castle, they don’t see each other until they arrive at breakfast.”
Claudia also revealed the cast and crew end up working well into the night because it doesn’t get dark in Scotland in the summer until quite late.
She added: “[The bell rings at] probably midnight … Cause it gets dark, we’re so far north, it gets dark, incredibly late … So the star is the game. And the game needs … so it’s not about, ‘Oh, I’m quite tired’.
“Mm-mm. Have another bag of beef Hula Hoops, guys … ”

Cameron Diaz in talks to join Jonah Hill’s new movie alongside Keanu Reeves

OHMYGOSSIP — Cameron Diaz is in talks to star in Jonah Hill’s next movie ‘Outcome’ alongside Keanu Reeves.
The 51-year-old actress would be reuniting with the 59-year-old actor as the pair previously starred in the 1996 rom-com ‘Feeling Minnesota’ together.
Reeves is portraying Reef, “a damaged Hollywood star who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past.”
Diaz is making her return to acting with Netflix action-comedy ‘Back in Action’ alongside Jamie Foxx, which is due out sometime this year.
It will mark the ‘Holiday’ star’s first acting gig since she portrayed Miss Hannigan in 2014’s ‘Annie’.
Hill, 40, is directing the flick and will reportedly star in the film, which he co-wrote with screenwriter Ezra Woods, according to various outlets.
As of yet, there is no release date for ‘Outcome’.
Cameron rejected millions of dollars to return to the film business before now, but the actress insisted at the time that she was happy to be following her passion.
Asked what advice she’d give to her fans, she explained: “If it’s like a burning desire to do so, then I say go for it. Follow that feeling and let it light your way and see where it takes you.”
During her hiatus, Cameron focused on her four-year-old daughter Raddix – whom she has with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, 44 – and launched the organic Avaline wine company.

Nicholas Hoult has been working out to play Lex Luthor

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicholas Hoult has been “working out” to play Lex Luthor.
The 34-year-old actor has been cast as the villain in James Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ movie and he’s opened up about his preparations prior to filming revealing he’s been hitting the gym because he wants his portrayal of the man of steel’s arch nemesis to have real muscles.
During an appearance on the ‘Inside of You’ podcast, he explained the idea stems from a Superman comic, saying: “I have been working out. There’s that bit in ‘All-Star Superman’ [comic] where he [Lex] talks about his muscles being real and hard work and all that. I kind of took that as a little bit of a fuel for the fire.”
The podcast was hosted by fellow actor Michael Rosenbaum – who previously played Lex in TV show ‘Smallville’ – and Nicholas admitted the series was the first time he’d seen the baddie onscreen.
He told the presenter: “The first ever Lex I saw was you. I grew up and ‘Smallville’ was on … I was like 11 or 12. So that was the show I would watch, and it was the first iterations I would see of Superman and Lex and all those stories. So it’s kind of bizarre to be sitting across from you.
“Since I’ve seen Richard Donner’s movies and all the other ones and kind of seen some of the other performances but you’re like the one … I love your portrayal. Are you kidding me? It’s the best.”
Nicholas went on to reveal he would be shaving his head to play the bald baddie but was still in the “mental preparation zone” as he recorded the episode prior to filming.
‘Superman’ features David Corenswet in the title role it’s due for release in July 2025.

Hairy Bikers’ Si King found it ‘odd’ filming without Dave Myers

OHMYGOSSIP — Si King found it “odd” filming ‘The Hairy Bikers Go West’ without Dave Myers.
The 57-year-old star and his late friend filmed their latest BBC2 series while Dave – who died last week aged 66 after a battle with cancer following his diagnosis in May 2022 – was receiving treatment for his illness.
In the latest episode – the first to air since Dave’s death – Si had travelled solo to a farm in North Wales as his friend was too ill to appear in the segment.
He said at the time: “It’s odd without him.”
He added: “I genuinely wish my best mate was here because he would absolutely love this.
“This is what we’re all about, it’s fantastic. And he’s a good grower, Dave. Dave and his wife are good growers.”
In poignant scenes, Si also admitted he “didn’t like riding on [his] own” for the segment.
The episode is the first to be broadcast since Dave’s passing, and his loved ones insisted he would have wanted it to air.
They wrote in a statement on Instagram: “The next episode of ‘Go West’ is on @bbctwo tonight. Despite such sad times we know that Dave would have wanted you to continue to enjoy the magical series that he shot with Si last year.
“We’d like to thank everyone from all over the world, who has reached out with messages of love and support over the last few days.
“Every one of them has been read and truly appreciated.”
Bearded celebrity cooks Dave and Si were well known as the Hairy Bikers.
They have presented numerous motorcycling travelogues together, in which they would travel around the UK, and further afield, on motorbikes and stop off to sample some local delicacies, as well as cook up some tasty treats themselves.
Si announced Dave’s passing last week as he wrote on X: “Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.
“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.
“All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.
“Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.
“I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya. (sic)”

CBB’s AJ Odudu reveals why she stayed calm she discovered her boyfriend in bed with someoone else

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Odudu refused to cry when she found her boyfriend in bed with another woman.
The 36-year-old TV presenter opened up about a time when she discovered her boyfriend was being unfaithful to her but remained strong in the moment because he “wasn’t worth [her] tears” in that moment and instead confronted the other woman.
Speaking on the ‘How to Fail’ podcast, she said: “To walk in on that, I was stunned. Seeing that was crazy. I wasn’t hysterical. I didn’t burst into tears or anything like that.
“I just felt in that moment, I need to gather all the information that I can, and I don’t want it from him.
“I want it from her, actually, because weirdly, in that moment, I trusted her more than I trusted him.”
“So, I asked her to put her clothes back on and follow me outside and answer all of my questions, how long had this been going on and whatever.
“And then as soon as that happened, I watched her leave and then I packed all my stuff and got a taxi and left.”
But the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ host – who did not name her former lover during the interview – subsequently had to deal with “years of trauma” in the time that followed because the incident was so “unexcpted” in the first place.
She said: “However, I proceeded to have years of tears and years of trauma away from him.
“It was like this person had, you know, made out that they love me, they see their future with me and it was completely reciprocated.
“We were, in my mind, building towards a positive future together.
“He was just someone that I just wouldn’t ever expect to behave in that way.

Ross Kemp reveals Bridge Of Lies has given out ‘biggest-ever’ cash prize

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bridge of Lies’ has handed out its biggest cash prize ever.
The BBC One game show – which is hosted by former ‘EastEnders’ star Ross Kemp – sees contestants trying to differentiate between the truths and lies by venturing across a bridge of stepping stones in a bid to win thousands and the upcoming third series will feature “fantastic contestants” who manage to scoop the biggest amount in the show’s history.
He is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column as saying: “When I first said yes to hosting a new quiz show, I could never have imagined that we’d still be here three series later, but ‘Bridge Of Lies’ seems to have really struck a chord with viewers. The new series is bigger and better than ever, with fantastic contestants who I loved getting to know. One brave team even managed to take home the biggest cash prize in Bridge Of Lies history.”

Speaking on the ‘Table Manners’ podcast, he told hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware: “Sometimes I sort of feel sort of guilty about the fact that I literally get paid to do documentaries about human suffering, so what is nice about doing a game show is that it less about human suffering and more about having a laugh and a giggle.
The third series of ‘Bridge of Lies’ will air on BBC One on at 4:30p, from Monday 11 March.

Kevin Spacey starring as The Devil in Italian movie The Contract

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Spacey will play The Devil in the Italian film ‘The Contract’.
The 64-year-old actor is continuing his efforts to rebuild his career by featuring in the psychological thriller from director Massimo Paolucci alongside Eric Roberts and Vincent Spano.
The English-language movie has recently wrapped principal photography in Rome and is described as having a similar plotline to Alan Parker’s ‘Angel Heart’ and Taylor Hackford’s ‘The Devil’s Advocate’.
Spacey arrived in the Italian capital in December to shoot the picture and his character ‘The Devil’ is described as similar to Al Pacino’s part in ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ – as satan who takes the guise of a human lawyer.
Producers Massimiliano Caroletti and Sandro Lazzarini say they “courted” Spacey for eight months to convince him to take the role.
The Oscar-winning star’s career came crashing down in 2017 after he was accused of sexual misconduct but he was found not guilty of sexually assaulting four men at a court trial in the UK last July.
On the steps of the Southwark Crown Court in London after the verdicts were delivered, the ‘American Beauty’ star said: “I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today.
“But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts, carefully, before they reached their decision.
“I am humbled by the outcome today.”
Spacey is also set to play the lead role in the thriller ‘Peter Five Eight’ in a raunchy turn as a hitman.
A trailer for the movie shows his character getting rid of a body, spending a night with a woman called Brenda and gunning down a man in broad daylight.

Married At First Sight UK could feature its first polyamorous couple

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Married At First Sight UK’ star Paul C Brunson wants a polyamorous couple on the show.
The 49-year-old relationship guru and matchmaker – who also works as Tinder’s head of global research – admitted the Channel 4 show needs to “keep up” with changes in the way society views romance.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’ve never had this question. I am pro love and this is what I stand for.
“I have friends in polyamorous relationships and I’ve done the research on them and I know there are high levels of satisfaction when you have high levels of communication.
“So, as society demands changes in our relationships, we as a show will have to keep up with that and we’ll have to follow the same path.”
In his new book, the ‘Find Love’ author has preached the benefits of finding “a strong partner”, describing it as “the most important decision we make in our lifetime”.
He explained: “With a strong partner you live longer, you’re healthier, you make more money, you’re able to realise all the things that you’re looking to get out of life.
“But when you choose the wrong partner, or worse, you’re just chosen, you tend not to get all those things.”
He also reflected on people “who are unsure if they’re with or married to the strongest partner”, as he reflected on the ‘Long-Term Relationship Satisfaction Scale (LRSS)’, which he created with psychologist to “evaluate” the strength of your relationship and “areas you need to work on”.
He said the research suggests in the UK, US and similar places, 80 percent of marriages “are less satisfied than ever”, with the remaining 20 percent being people who “put in the work”.
Asked why he thinks the number is so low, he added: “Well, we require more from our partner today than ever before. We’re looking for our intellectual equal, our best sex mate, best co-parent, best CEO of the business we’re launching.
“But back in the 1980s and 1970s it didn’t used to be that way; you would have a village of people meeting those needs. It’s very difficult to get everything from one person.
“That’s another reason why people are re-evaluating if monogamy is for them.”

Corrie legend Sue Cleaver wants to ‘have fun’ in her 60s: ‘This decade is for me!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Cleaver decided to live life for herself when she turned 60.
The actress – who has 28-year-old son Elliot with ex-husband James Quinn – is best known for having starred as Eileen Grimshaw in ‘Coronation Street’ from 2000 but in the run-up to her milestone birthday decided that it was time to do other things, like appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ and join the ITV1 chat show ‘Loose Women’.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “I brought my son up, my priority was always my son and then I just thought that as soon as he’d gone…he’s 28 now…I just decided…I hit 60 and decided that this decade is for me, I’m gonna have fun, I’m gonna do what I want to do. I’m gonna come out from being this mum where that was my main priority. It started with me going in the jungle. I love being on the ‘Loose Women’ panel. I can be me, and I have enough to say.”
The soap legend is now starring as Mother Superior in the UK tour of ‘Sister Act: The Musical’ but will soon be back in her role as matriarch Eileen, who, over the years, has brought up sons Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Todd (Gareth Pierce) as a single mother, had a number of ill-fated relationships including one with a fireman whose wife was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and has become the infamous arch-enemy of Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
But Eileen is now in a relationship with undertaker George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) and Sue shared her hopes that the characters will get to tie the knot one day in a classic ‘Corrie’ wedding.
She said: “I have a few months’ grace to do this job and then I will be back in there as soon as I’ve finished. I’m pushing for George and Eileen to have a big old-fashioned ‘Corrie’ wedding. Funny things can [go wrong]. We don’t want to lose anybody!”
