Kem Cetinay is ‘struggling’ with Dancing on Ice training

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay is “really struggling” with his training for ‘Dancing on Ice’ – and is still using a penguin stabiliser to help him get around the rink.
The ‘Love Island’ champion has less than two months before he’ll have to glide out of the wings to perform his first routine for the forthcoming series of the show, but he has admitted he’s not a “natural” on skates and is already covered in bruises.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (08.11.17), he said: “I’m not gonna lie – it’s really hard, and I’m really, really struggling. I’ve seen everyone else, they’re doing all these moves and cross-overs. My trainer just told me ‘Some people are natural, some people are not, and you’re not’. Yeah (I’m using a stabiliser called a penguin) and I’m wondering if they’ll let me take it out on to the ice with me on the first show …. I can’t get the hang of putting one foot forward then the other, because I’m used to walking.”
But the 21-year-old hunk will have to work hard if he’s hoping to stay in the competition for longer than one week as he’s up against some high-flying sportsmen and women.
Track and field athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, cricketer Monty Panesar and rugby hunk Max Evans have all agreed to slip into a pair of skates for the new series next year.
Jake Quickenden, Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown and Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker and Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent and Antony Cotton are also on board.
More celebrities will be announced in due course but, for now, it’s been confirmed that acid-tongue Australian Jason Gardiner has reclaimed his position on the judging panel alongside Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who previously mentored the contestants but have now switched positions – and Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return as hosts.

Craig Revel Horwood slams Shirley Ballas

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood thinks his new co-judge Shirley Ballas has turned into a “villain.”
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ panellist has always been known for his acid tongue and cruel remarks on the ballroom and latin show, but it looks his new Head Judge – who has taken over from the legendary Len Goodman – is close to swiping his crown.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: “Shirley is this year’s villain. She’s frighteningly technical with her criticism, and I know the audience might struggle with that. She was a Halloween baddie in a Cruella de Vil costume – she channelled her.”
The 57-year-old choreographer has been slammed with criticism over the past few weeks on social media because viewers feel she’s using technical words they don’t understand to criticise the celebrity contestants’ dance floor blunders.
A source said: “Shirley is a stickler for technique and she’s proud of her dance knowledge. She’s trying to ignore social media for a while and not let other people’s opinions get to her but it does get hard, especially when the abuse is so personal.
“She was hoping ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ would be a fun experience and wasn’t banking on a backlash. But bosses are delighted with how she’s getting on and like her detailed critique. She’s been told to carry on and ignore the trolls.”
However, although Craig is convinced Shirley has become the new show baddie, he’s still receiving abuse online as fans are convinced he’s to blame for Aston Merrygold – who was the favourite to win the series – and Janette Manrara’s exit last weekend.
The 52-year-old judge gave the JLS singer a measly four out of 10 for his routine, which fans believe contributed to him being in the dance off against Mollie King.
Craig opted to save the Saturdays beauty, while Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli wanted to save Aston, but Shirley had the deciding vote and sent home the hunk.

Simon Cowell to launch a music show to rival Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell is planning to launch a new music show to rival ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 58-year-old mogul has revealed he is already busily working on a new programme in a bid to knock the BBC dancing show off its perch.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Simon shared: “Watch this space. We’ve got a new show soon. I can’t say more but it’s still music.
“You’ll like the one we’re making. You’ll have to wait but you will see more about it soon. We make lots of shows but this is a music show.”
During his TV career, Simon has masterminded the success of programmes such as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor’.
But in recent times, ‘Strictly’ has emerged as the dominant show, with ‘X Factor’s viewing numbers falling to 4.3 million.
Meanwhile, Simon previously admitted to losing his “mojo” back in 2016 following the death of his mother Julie Brett, who passed away in July 2015.
The TV star admitted his mother’s passing affected his on-screen performances, and he also conceded the show went through a lull.
Speaking last year, Simon explained: “I found it difficult when something is really affecting your life and you are on a talent show and you are trying to be up and happy.
“I didn’t feel myself and it really took me a year to come out of it. We have all been there. And I am not saying I am the only person it’s ever happened to but it hit me hard.
“Now I have had some time and rest and I think I have got my mojo back again.
“I can remember three years ago with ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and I thought the show had lost its zing a little bit and we all got it back together.
“That happens on a long-running show. You are not always going to have your best year.”

Davood Ghadami: Aston Merrygold’s Strictly Come Dancing exit is a wake up call

OHMYGOSSIP — Davood Ghadami says Aston Merrygold’s shock exit from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has been a “wake up” call for the other contestants.
The former JLS singer had previously been one of the favourites to win the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition before the voting public placed him in the dance-off and he was sent home by the judges on Sunday’s (05.11.17) show.
And fellow contestant Davood – who found himself in the dance-off earlier in the show but was saved by the judges – has said the decision to send home a former favourite has made all the remaining celebrities realise that no-one is safe.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is dancing with professional partner Nadiya Bychkova
– said: “I think it wakes everybody up to what this is about, it’s a competition and someone has to go and it could be anyone.
“We’ve been there, we’ve been in the dance off and we know what it’s like, it’s really not nice. It was my best score and we ended up in the dance off so we know that anything can happen at any time, so it’s only when that Sunday show has finished you can go ‘right onto the next week’.
“Up until that point, it doesn’t matter … you could have all 10s or all 1s it could all completely change.”
With Aston’s exit, another pair has a chance to make it to the final, but 35-year-old Davood insists he isn’t looking too far ahead.
Asked if he thinks he can make it to the final now that Aston has been voted off the show, Davood told The Sun Online: “I’m genuinely not thinking like that at all, there’s no strategy, it’s just thinking about Aston going.
“All it does for me is make me realise that it comes down to enjoying every dance, finding something you can enjoy.
“I didn’t do [the show] going ‘I’m going to win’, it’s learning something new and enjoying every step along the way.”

Sophie Faldo wants to Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Faldo wants to compete on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner is “a bit jealous” that last year’s baking champion Candice Brown has landed a slot on the celebrity skating contest and she’d love to do the revamped show in the future.
She said: “I admit I’m a bit jealous of Candice learning to ice skate on ‘Dancing On Ice’. I’d love to do it one day.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing her on that. She’s so elegant.
“I think I have a different skill set to [her and Nadiya Hussain]. I’m interested in sport and adventure, health, and performance food so I’m hoping I can find my avenue.”
But the former Army officer isn’t so keen at turning her hand to presenting.
She said: “I’m not quite sure. I feel quite comfortable in front of the camera so I’d never say never to that, but I think it’s a case of whether other people want me there.”
One thing that’s definitely on the cards for Sophie is a patisserie book.
She said: “That’s next in the pipeline. I think that’s what I’m known for and what stood out for me. I want to show home bakers how to do the more refined stuff.
“I’d also like to do a book about performance nutrition and tie in the cycling and the baking. I’m a sponsored athlete on a track cycling race team, which I’m going to keep up. The dream is just to have a career in baking, whatever form that takes.”
The 34-year-old baker could have missed out on winning the show as both she and one of the runners up, Steven Carter-Bailey, missed the original application deadline.
She told OK! magazine: “I actually missed the deadline. We were working hard at the time and I let it slip by the wayside.
“I said, ‘Oh well, I wasn’t going to get picked anyway’ and then they extended the deadline. I think Steven missed it too.”

Jessica Chastain wants to be in IT sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain would love to star as an older Beverly in the ‘IT’ sequel.
The 40-year-old actress has already worked with horror helmer Andres Muschietti on his directorial debut ‘Mama’, and following the success of his Stephen King adaptation, Chastain’s name has been thrown into the mix for the upcoming sequel.
Although no casting has yet to be announced, Chastain “hopes” it can happen and she gets to battle Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Speaking to website ScreenRant, Chastain said: “Well, I love Andy and Barbara [Muschietti]. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, ‘Mama’.
“His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so … We’ll see … Listen, of course, I want to work on it … they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”
The hit re-imagining of the 1986 King novel follows a group of youngsters who are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against terrifying monster Pennywise.
The sequel moves the story on to when the brave friends have become adults and after they each see Pennywise again they realise they must return to Maine to fight the killer once more. The second film is slated for a September 2019 release.
Recently, Muschietti publicly stated he wants Chastain to play the older version of Beverly in the ‘IT’ sequel.
The 44-year-old filmmaker said: “Jessica is an amazing actress and a very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen.
“There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.”
‘IT’ – which stars Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise – is the highest grossing R-rated film of all-time surpassing the takings of ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Logan’.

Ezra Miller wants Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Batman

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller wants Jeffrey Dean Morgan to be Batman in ‘Flashpoint’.
The 25-year-old actor – who previously cameoed in ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ as Barry Allen/ The Flash and will reprise the role in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie ‘Justice League’ – is set to get his own standalone film as the speedy superhero, which if it follows the comic storyline of the same name, will explore an alternate universe for the famous characters.
‘Flashpoint’ involves Barry Allen aka The Flash travelling back in time and saving his mother’s life, creating a radical new reality where the Justice League never formed.
With the new reality, heroes and villains have swapped places, while characters like Aquaman and Wonder Woman have become competing warlords and Batman’s father Thomas Wayne takes on a darker version of the Caped Crusader.
In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, Morgan and Lauren Cohan played Thomas and Martha Wayne so Miller would love to see them back in the roles for ‘Flashpoint’.
Asked if Morgan should return to the series, he said: Oh, hell yeah. I think he’s amazing…And I think he would fall right into what is becoming a very, very serious ensemble of actors. I’m so excited about Kiersey Clemons (who will play Iris West). I’m so excited about Billy Crudup (The Flash’s father). I just couldn’t be more stoked about the names involved so far.”
And Miller thinks Thomas Wayne’s darker Batman is one of the most exciting parts of the story.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said: “I think that the emotional arc of the Thomas Wayne stuff in ‘Flashpoint’ is one of the illest parts.
“And to see that different manifestation of Batman and his whole different style. And I love the reality that you have this universe that is so inverted from one that we know.
“And this one factor remains the same, but in this flipped way. Batman is steady, but it’s going to be the result of a different side of the same tragedy with Thomas Wayne instead of Bruce, and that’s dope.”

Jamie Bell wants to be next James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Bell wants to be the next James Bond.
The 31-year-old actor worked with 007 producer Barbara Broccoli on new comedy drama ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’.
The pair enjoyed a good working relationship on the movie and although they did not specifically discuss the spy franchise Bell admits he would be very interested in the iconic part and work team-up with Broccoli, 57, on any project.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, Bell said: “Bond is such an iconic thing that everyone has an opinion on but it’s never something that I had a direct conversation with her about. The best way to answer that is, that I would work with Barbara again in a heartbeat. On anything. Because she is a great producer.”
Daniel Craig is the current 007 but he has revealed he will be bowing out after his outing in the next film, the 25th movie in the franchise, which began in 1962 with Sean Connery in ‘Dr. No’.
Bell stars alongside Annette Bening and Julie Walters in ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ which follows the romance between real life actress Gloria Grahame and her younger lover Peter Turner.
The film sees Bell reuniting with ‘Billy Elliot’ co-star Walters, 67, and admits she was like the “matriarch” of the whole movie.
He said: “Julie brought so much humour and while her character, Bella, is the matriarch of the family, Julie was like the matriarch of this whole movie. The story is very sweeping. There’s illness and people having to say goodbye to one another and people falling in love. There is also a distance because the story is so bizarre in a way. Gloria was a movie star and she literally spends her last days in Peter’s mum’s bedroom. It’s crazy.”
Bell shot to fame starring in ‘Billy Elliot’ when he was just 14 and he said he becomes “prouder and prouder” of the movie.
He said: “I become prouder and prouder the older I get. I have always been grateful. I don’t think as an actor you can really ask for much more in terms of starting out and, as the years go on, I get more perspective on it. It is a very special movie, a very special story, and it’s a very effective film.”

Asher Angel joins Shazam! movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Asher Angel has joined the ‘Shazam!’ movie.
The ‘Andi Mack’ star has been cast to play the teenager Billy Batson opposite Zachary Levi – who will be his adult superhero alter ego Captain Marvel – in the new DC Extended Universe movie, Variety reported.
David F. Sandberg is helming the new movie which has been penned by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.
On Instagram, Sandberg confirmed the news that Angel has been cast in the film and wrote: “I was hoping to break the news about @asherdovangel last week with this photo but had to wait a bit (sic)”
The hero was created by C.C. Beck and writer Bill Parker back in 1939 and first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 a year later.
‘Shazam!’ follows Billy Batson, a boy who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word “Shazam”.
The name is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury.
Mark Strong is also in talks to star as the villain of the film and Grace Fulton will play one of Angel’s friends.
Levi, 34, recently admitted he is “honoured and humbled” to be cast in the film.
He took to Instagram following the casting announcement and wrote: “Honored and greatly humbled to be a part of the #dcuniverse by bringing the original Captain Marvel to life.
“I am beside myself with gratitude, not only for this opportunity but also the incredible outpouring of love and support from so many of you out there in the world. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the gym for the rest of forever. (amazingly cool art courtesy of @bosslogic) #Shazam (sic)”
Captain Marvel’s arch nemesis is the supervillain Black Adam, who will be played by Dwayne Johnson in a separate film which will build to a future big screen adventure in which they will both clash.
Recently, Johnson, 45, confirmed he was offered the opportunity to play both DC Comics characters, but decided to take on Black Adam because there’s more depth to his backstory.

Mark Wahlberg had ‘so much fun’ working on Daddy’s Home 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg had “so much fun” creating and filming ‘Daddy’s Home 2’.
The 46-year-old actor has reprised his role as Dusty Mayron in the comedy movie, which is a follow up to the 2015 hit film ‘Daddy’s Home’, and the American hunk, who also executive produced the latest movie, has admitted he enjoyed every moment on set because it did not feel like work.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the production, which also stars Will Ferrell, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow and John Cena, Mark said: “It’s not work, because you’re having so much fun. The only thing that you can kind of categorise it as work is that you have to leave your family for an extended amount of time. Other than that, it’s a bunch of really talented people being very creative and having fun.”
And ‘The Fighter’ star thinks the film is such a success because he thinks families can “identify” with the mishaps that go on between relatives during the festive period.
He said: “As you see in this dysfunctional family, we all have a lot of differences but we all come together for the better of the kids. It’s interesting how many things could go wrong, especially around the holidays. Everyone can identify with that, but ultimately it’s about spending time together and sharing that.”
Lithgow has praised the creative team for their “great vision”, although he has admitted he was sceptical whether the plotline would work.
The 72-year-old movie legend said: “They have great vision, I thought the script was good, but there was an awful lot that I thought, ‘Whoa, is this going to come off? Is this going to work?’ Every one of those moments works like gangbusters — it’s like there’s no gag that fails in the whole film. You just feel like you’re in good hands.
“[Director Sean Andes] is such a terrific director of physical comedy, and these big comedy sequences that just kind of build and build and build and kind of explode. It’s like working with an expert action director on a big action thriller, except instead of a great big breathtaking scare, you get a gigantic, explosive laugh.”

Ray Fisher wants ‘intimate’ Cyborg movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Ray Fisher thinks the Cyborg standalone movie should be “intimate”.
The 30-year-old actor will step into the metal suit for his proper DC Extended Universe debut when ensemble movie ‘Justice League’ hits cinemas later this month, but that won’t be the last time fans get to see the star, as a standalone, eponymously titled movie is already in the pipeline.
And Ray – who was technically first seen as Cyborg in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’, though in a non-speaking cameo role – already has his own ideas as to where he’d like the story of Victor Stone and his crime fighting alter-ego to go.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Ray said: “Things are in development. If I had my druthers, I think a Cyborg standalone would be a slightly more intimate story. One of the things that I always think is interesting with these sort of universes, is whenever there’s a world threatening crisis, it always makes you wonder, ‘Where are the other members of the group? Why didn’t they show up?’ I think finding an organic way to explain why these characters have to have their solo mission.”
The star is determined to make sure none of the other superheroes – including Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) – appear in Cyborg’s standalone, but knows it won’t be easy as his character lives on Earth with the others, unlike Superman who can go to “the deepest reaches of space”.
He added: “Obviously, Aquaman, most of his stuff takes place under water. If Superman were to go to the deepest reaches of space, not many people could go with him. Those kinds of things could happen and it would make sense as to why the other heroes wouldn’t be able to tag along.”
‘Justice League’ hits cinemas on November 16.

Paul Nicholls recalls horror of Thai waterfall accident

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Nicholls desperately batted away legions of leeches and creepy crabs as they invaded his gaping wound after his knee cap pinged out following his dramatic fall in Koh Samui.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star was just hours from death over the summer when he was found lying at the bottom on a jungle waterfall with serious injuries after he’d taken himself off on a solo ride on his scooter up the mountain in Thailand and went missing for three days.
It was initially thought the actor had slipped while trying to take a photo of the breath-taking scenery, but he has revealed his accident was a lot more dramatic than that as he had actually been attacked by a pack of wild dogs before plunging 20ft down the waterfall.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (07.11.17), he said: “I had been working for a year and a half solidly – for an actor that’s quite a lot – I thought: ‘I’m going to take nine months off.’ I was having a great time and then that happened. I was on a scooter, no one knew where I was. My friend said: ‘You should always tell someone where you’re going!’
“It was 6.30am, I’d be in the gym already. I lived halfway up the mountain, I went to the top to take pictures. I came around the corner, there were about 15 wild dogs. One pack had made a kill and the blood attracted the rest of them. The nearer I got to the waterfall, one of them chomped on top of my foot. It drew blood and then he ran off with my flip flop.
“I pulled into the waterfall and thought the only way I can go is down but I didn’t realise how much I was bleeding. As soon as I touched the rock, I just went over.
“It was a 20 ft drop and my knee hit something on the way down. It looked like something just flew out of my knee – part of my knee cap – and then I hit the water. Where my knee cap should have been, there was just a hole and I was holding it.”
But the 38-year-old star’s nightmare didn’t end there as blood-thirsty critters living in the murky water scrambled towards the hole in his knee and tried to feast on his flesh.
Paul – who didn’t eat or drink for three days – was found by a local from a nearby village who spotted his rented motorbike in the jungle and had reported it to the emergency services.
He was found semi-conscious and with hypothermia.
It took two hours to take the British actor to nearby International Koh Samui Hospital, before he was transferred and underwent reconstructive surgery on his knee.

Phillip Schofield would do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield would “absolutely” do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The ‘This Morning’ host has admitted he’d jump at the chance to take part in the creepy-crawly show because he’d be willing to chow down on the critters and get stuck into the gruesome Bushtucker Trials, but only if bosses agree to exchange the metal Billy Cans for wooden bowls.
Speaking on the brunch time show on Tuesday (07.11.17), the 55-year-old presenter said: “I would do it. Absolutely. All of that stuff, I could eat all the business and do all of that. But you know why I can’t do it? Because they all have metal Billy Cans and metal spoons and metal on metal goes right through me. It’s like nails on a blackboard – I can’t do it. If they made them out of wood then it’s a possibility. I never say never to anything but what happens if I end up with someone I can’t stand? There aren’t many but there are a few.”
However, fellow presenter Piers Morgan isn’t as keen to slip into his jungle gear and head into the Australian outback as he has admitted he’s been “offered lots of money” to do the show before, but no amount of cash could persuade him to eat bugs on national television.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ this morning, Piers, 52, said: “I normally win. I don’t believe in losing, I don’t like it. I’ve been offered lots of money for these things, to go and eat bugs. They say: ‘Hey, do you want to go to a jungle in Australia and eat kangaroo testicles as Ant and Dec mock you?’ – no thanks. Why would I do that? Then they say they’d give X amount and you’re like ‘please, add a couple of noughts.’ So they do then you’re like ‘no thanks.’ ”

Aston Merrygold to release footage of dances on YouTube

OHMYGOSSIP — Aston Merrygold and Janette Manrara are planning to record the dances they had planned for coming weeks on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and will put them on YouTube.
The former JLS singer and the brunette beauty were left devastated over the weekend when they were given the boot from the competition following their dance off against Mollie King and her partner AJ Pritchard.
But, although they’re no longer on the show, they are toying with the idea of filming the Salsa and Jive they had planned for the next two weeks and uploading the footage online so their fans don’t miss out.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (07.11.17), Janette said: “Yeah we were thinking we might actually do that. It think it might happen.”
Fans jumped to Aston’s defence after acid-tongue judge Craig Revel Horwood dished him a shocking four for his Viennese Waltz but, although he was “shocked” by the low mark, the 29-year-old star just laughed at it because he couldn’t quite believe it.
He said: “I’m honestly gutted, but you just have to take it on the chin. It’s such a brilliant show and I said from day one if I have to leave, I’m happy I got the chance to do it in the first place … When we got the four I laughed. I was like, ‘Is that a four?’ To me, it didn’t even feel as bad as that. It was just the shock of it.”
Aston had previously gushed about his experience on the show.
Speaking after his exit, he told host Tess Daly: “Honestly, every second of this, I’ve had friends who have done the show before and they’ve gone ‘you’re going to have the most amount of fun from start to finish whatever it is’ and honestly they weren’t lying! Everything, from this lady to every single person in here, these four judges, yourself, Claudia, all you amazing lot up there that I get to see and spend so much time with. I’ve made some amazing friends and honestly I’ve had the best time, it’s been amazing.”

Robbie Savage appearing on Strictly Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Savage will return to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ ballroom for the show’s annual Christmas special.
The retired footballer was paired with Ola Jordan on the show six years ago, but was eliminated in week 10, and he’s warned viewers not to expect much improvement when he makes his comeback alongside new Australian dancing professional Dianne Buswell next month.
He said: “It’s been six years since I was on the show and I am still as bad as I was then! I’m looking forward to getting back on the ‘Strictly’ dancefloor.”
The special show – which will air on Christmas Day (25.12.17) – sees the likes of Kimberley Walsh and Judy Murray joining the line-up of past stars.
Judy said she is “just as bad” as she was in 2014.
Fans of the BBC One show will be eager to see how stars such as Colin Jackson, Katie Derham and Jeremy Vine do when they return to the dancefloor in a bid to claim the Christmas glitter trophy.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will host the festive edition of the programme, while the usual judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli, and Shirley Ballas – will be dishing out marks to the returning celebrities.
Meanwhile, outspoken panelist Craig has defended his decision to score Aston Merrygold a four for his Viennese Waltz in this year’s show on Saturday (4.11.17).
The 52-year-old judge gave the former JLS singer – who had previously been the favourite to win the competition – the low score for his performance, and when combined with the audience vote, the star found himself in the dreaded dance-off and was later booted out.
But now, Craig has said he isn’t to blame for Aston’s shock exit, as the public didn’t vote to save him from the bottom two.
He said: “We didn’t put him in the bottom two, the audience did.”

Michael Parkinson blasts Corrie’s brutal plots

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Michael Parkinson has slammed ‘Coronation Street’ bosses for their violent and “gruesome” storylines.
The television icon has responded to recent scenes which saw villainous builder Pat Phelan [Connor McIntyre] kidnap and orchestrate the murders of Andy Carver [Oliver Farnworth] and Vinny Ashford [Ian Kelsey], and warned the ITV soap could lose its charm, with some viewers left uncomfortable watching the graphic deaths shown before the 9pm watershed.
Parkinson, 82, told RadioTimes magazine: l “I never imagined I would recoil from watching ‘Coronation Street’, but the storyline of the kidnapping and torture of Andy and Vinny and their brutal murder by Pat Phelan had little to do with that gentle, funny reminder of life in the North Country I discovered and so admired in the early 1960s when I joined Granada Television.”
Parkinson claimed ‘Corrie’ had been a victim of its own success, and while he praised McIntyre’s acting chops in the role of murderous Phelan, Parkinson suggested it would have been better suited for another show.
He added: “Ironically, its overwhelming success carried seeds of change that would transform Tony Warren’s wonderful idea into a gold mine and sadly stimulated the beginnings of a change that allowed Pat Phelan to become a major player in a storyline more suited to a horror channel than a family show.
“The storyline is made even more shocking by Connor McIntyre’s performance as Phelan.
“His basilisk stare, the unnerving certainty of his murderous intent, is enough evidence of his ability to play a psychopath and worthy of a series about this murderous nutter – hopefully, far away from ‘Coronation Street.”
