Pam St Clement smokes joint and bong in Gone To Pot

OHMYGOSSIP — Pam St. Clement smoked cannabis during filming for the new ITV travel show ‘Gone To Pot’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who played Pat Butcher in the soap from 1986 until 2012, with a guest appearance in 2016 – heads on a US road trip in the new programme, and experienced the affects of the drug, which she tried as a joint and through a bong, at an ‘alternative’ art class.
She revealed: “We were taken to this warehouse . . .  there were easels, tables and chairs. We jumped in with both feet and sat down and started to paint this cactus.
“The guy came round with this joint and I took a puff, and [dart player Bobby George] took a puff then we got on with this painting. I thought, ‘Oh well this a terrible painting and I don’t know what to do with it’. I made it into an alien in the end. It wasn’t a cactus at all.”
However, it wasn’t the only experience Pam – who also stars alongside Linda Robson, Christopher Biggins and John Fashanu on the three-part programme – had with marijuana on the show, which aims to explore the highs and lows of the class B substance.
The celebrities visited a nunnery where the sisters farm weed, and the actress admitted it was “powerful”.
She told The Sun newspaper: “This person came along with a glass bowl thing with a pipe and a stem with an open top, like a mini bong, it was very delicate and she gave it to Linda then to me and she said, ‘Take a puff’.
“So I took a puff and she said, ‘Oh that’s enough, that’s enough’ and I thought, ‘Oh my God, this must be powerful’. I passed it on to Bobby and within five to ten minutes me and Bobby were virtually on the floor laughing it was so funny.
“I love it when you get the giggles when you shouldn’t. It’s wonderful — just crying we were — so refreshing to do that, it really is.”
‘Gone To Pot’ starts on ITV at 9pm on Monday (13.11.17).

Craig Revel Horwood defends Aston Merrygold score

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood has defended his decision to score Aston Merrygold a four for his Viennese Waltz on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 52-year-old judge gave the former JLS singer – who had previously been the favourite to win the competition – the low score for his performance on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition on Saturday (04.11.17), and when combined with the audience vote, the star found himself in the dreaded dance-off and was later voted off the show.
But now, Craig has said he isn’t to blame for Aston’s shock exit, as the public didn’t vote to save him from the bottom two.
He said: “We didn’t put him in the bottom two, the audience did.”
Craig and the other judges – Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli, and head judge Shirley Ballas – have also been accused previously of deliberately marking the 29-year-old singer and his partner Janette Manara down, in order to make it appear as though they need to improve.
But the judge has slammed the claims, insisting he gave an accurate list of what was wrong with Aston’s dance, and standing by his decision to save Saturdays singer Mollie King in the dance-off.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Craig added: “That’s rubbish. I gave a list of what was wrong with it on the night. And Mollie did a better dance in the dance-off.”
The comments come after former ‘Strictly’ professional James Jordan hit out at Craig, and called his decision to score Aston a four “disgusting”.
He said: He had 25 points … he should’ve been nowhere near the position he was on the leaderboard.
“Craig put him there, that’s a fact. Craig gave him a four which was disgusting, and you can’t justify that.
“He’s going to go on ‘It Takes Two’ and say, ‘Oh, it was my opinion, I didn’t like it. I marked it a four and I stand by my four.’
“Bulls**t, I call bulls**t. I’m sorry to swear. It is slightly frustrating.
“I actually could cry for Janette and Aston … for me, it’s ruined the series.”

Scarlett Moffatt pestering Dec Donnelly with I’m A Celeb texts

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt is so excited about the next series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ that she can’t stop texting the programme’s host Declan Donnelly.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star won last year’s series of the reality show – which sees famous faces fending for themselves and battling against each other to become king or queen of the Australian jungle – and is joining spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’ as co-host along with Joel Dommett and Joe Swash.
Scarlett said: “I’m so excited. I’ve been messaging Dec just talking about packing and asking if he’s packed. My mam keeps laughing because I’ve been packed for three weeks now. I’m so keen.”
The 27-year-old beauty says previous hosts Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore have given her a lot of advice ahead of her time in the hot seat.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “Caroline and Laura have been amazing, giving me lots of tips and they have been so supportive.
“They told me to get a lot of sleep now because the ITV2 show is filmed in English time so I need to try and organise my sleeping patterns.
“I think I’ll be running on adrenaline though, excitement has overtaken nerves for me.”
Scarlett recently revealed she has had her suitcase packed for Australia the second she found out she had landed the gig.
She said: “I’m really excited. I’ve been packed for three weeks! But I won’t lie and say I’m not nervous about it all. I’m really hoping that a girl will win this year. There needs to be another queen of the jungle.”
Details of the new series are being kept tightly under wraps for the time being but it’s believed Ant McPartlin – who sought treatment in rehab earlier this year for drug addiction – will be ready to present the programme alongside his best friend Dec Donnelly.
Scarlett said: “He’s fine. We’ve spoken and I was texting Dec the other day. I think it’s really amazing that Ant’s spoken about it. The more people that speak about mental health, the better, because then the stigma around it will disappear.”

Scarlett Moffatt packed for Extra Camp 3 weeks ago

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt has had her suitcase packed for Australia for the past three weeks.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star has just left for Down Under in order to present the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’ in a few weeks’ time but she has admitted she started packing her bags as soon as she found out she had the job.
Speaking to new! magazine, she said: “I’m really excited. I’ve been packed for three weeks! But I won’t lie and say I’m not nervous about it all. I’m really hoping that a girl will win this year. There needs to be another queen of the jungle.”
The 27-year-old beauty – who won the main show last year – will be hosting the side series alongside Joel Dommett and Joe Swash and she’s convinced they’ll provide viewers with endless laughs because there is so much “banter” between them when they hang out.
She explained: “Joel and I hang out all the time anyway, but we’ve been messaging a lot more recently. We banter with one another … I was most surprised by how difficult the main show is. When I used to watch it, I used to think: ‘Oh it can’t be that hard’ – but it is! And the smell is horrendous. You’re vert lucky we don’t have smellovision.”

Aston Merrygold’s Strictly shock

OHMYGOSSIP — Aston Merrygold was “shocked” to be given a four on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former JLS star and his professional partner Janette Manrara exited the BBC One latin and ballroom competition on Sunday night (05.11.17) after landing himself in the dance off against Mollie King and AJ Pritchard and he has now spoken out for the first time about how “gutted” he was to get such a low mark from Craig Revel Horwood.
He said: “I’m honestly gutted, but you just have to take it on the chin. It’s such a brilliant show and I said from day one if I have to leave, I’m happy I got the chance to do it in the first place … When we got the four I laughed. I was like, ‘Is that a four?’ To me, it didn’t even feel as bad as that. It was just the shock of it.”
Being in the dance off, Aston and Janette were forced to dance their Viennese Waltz and the performance split the judges as Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli opted to save Aston, whilst Craig and head judge Shirley Ballas – who has the casting vote – chose to save Mollie.
And whilst Janette “respects” Craig’s opinion, she doesn’t agree with the score.
Speaking on BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’, she added: “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, those scores are the judges’ opinions. I don’t agree at all with the score, but you have to respect his opinion, his number and thoughts and take it as it comes.”
Aston had previously gushed about his experience on the show.
Speaking after his exit, he told host Tess Daly: “Honestly, every second of this, I’ve had friends who have done the show before and they’ve gone ‘you’re going to have the most amount of fun from start to finish whatever it is’ and honestly they weren’t lying! Everything, from this lady to every single person in here, these four judges, yourself, Claudia, all you amazing lot up there that I get to see and spend so much time with. I’ve made some amazing friends and honestly I’ve had the best time, it’s been amazing.”

Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey rekindle their romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey are reportedly dating again.
The brunette beauty and her 25-year-old beau sparked up a romance on last year’s ‘Love Island’, but the couple split shortly after Cara, 27, found out she was pregnant with their child.
Although the pair have been separated for seven months, it is rumoured they have rekindled their relationship weeks before the reality star gives birth, which is expected to be sometime this month, and it is the baby who has “bought them closer” together.
Speaking about the duo to The Sun Online, a friend close to Cara said: “Cara and Nathan are very happy at the moment, I think the baby has bought them closer together and I’ve never seen Cara so happy.”
Cara and Nathan have recently enjoyed romantic dates with one another, and they have even been spotted stealing kisses from one another in public.
The insider continued: “They’ve been out on romantic dates and they’ve been spending the a night together every couple of weeks.”
Cara and Nathan are reportedly not living with one another at the moment, but the couple plan to take the “next natural step” and live with one another again soon to make the “perfect family” when their tiny tot arrives.
The source added: “Cara and Nathan are not living together but it’s been rumoured that this is the next natural step for them both. They’re going to make the perfect family.”
Cara has admitted when her and Nathan had split up the television personality – who has made a string of appearances on ‘The Only Way Is Essex ‘ over recent weeks – has still made an effort to help her prepare for the arrival of their baby.
Speaking previously, Cara said: “He comes round and helps me sort out stuff with the nursery.
“He’ll stay for a takeaway and a film.”

After the big reveal, Antony took to Twitter to share the clip, adding: “So there you go. Finally I can talk about bruises, blisters and bloody boots.. (sic)”
Antony’s involvement in the show has been expected for a long time after he was spotted rehearsing for the programme weeks ago.

“It’s exciting because I’ve watched it for years and always thought it would be so good one day to do that and dress in those outfits and learn such a massive skill from two of the best, I’m just really excited.”

Olivia Colman bit by dog on Murder on the Orient Express set

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Pfeiffer says a little dog bit Olivia Colman on the set of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ “a few times”.
The 43-year-old beauty plays Hildegarde Schmidt, Dame Judi Dench’s character Princess Dragomiroff’s maid, in the in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s re-imagining of Agatha Christie’s whodunit novel set in the 1930s.
Speaking about the camaraderie on set on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (06.11.17), Pfeiffer said: “Even the dogs behaved. Dogs never behave on music. I think the little black one might have bit Olivia a few times. I don’t think that one liked her very much.”
Colman previously revealed that most of her part was spent holding a pooch sat next to the British acting legend.
She said: “I sat next to Judi Dench all day, holding a dog. It was heaven!”
Meanwhile, Michelle revealed she burst into tears when she met the former Bond star for the first time making the movie.
The 59-year-old actress admitted she was “completely star-struck” meeting the 82-year-old screen legend.
She said recently: “When I met her, I just cried … I had tears coming down my face. I was just completely star-struck and moved by meeting her.”
Pfeiffer – whose filmography includes acclaimed roles in movies such as ‘Scarface’, ‘Batman Returns’ and ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ – said it took a lot of effort to act in front of Dench who is considered a master at period piece dramas.
She said: “It just takes jumping into the deep end, but it’s hard to trust that in the beginning. And so I was at that stage and I’m acting in front of Judi Dench, and I’m thinking OK, you cannot bomb in front of Judi Dench. This just can’t happen.”
‘Murder on the Orient Express’ follows Belgian detective Hercule Poirot who finds himself wrapped in a murder mystery after a passenger is murdered during the lavish trip through Europe.
The film sees Branagh take on the helm of the iconic detective and features a stellar cast which also includes Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad and Willem Dafoe.

Ezra Miller on Zack Synder’s ‘lighter’ Justice League

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller says Zack Snyder was creating a “lighter” and “comedic” ‘Justice League’ before being replaced by director Joss Whedon.
The 25-year-old actor stars as Barry Allen and his alter-ego The Flash in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie – which was kicked off by Snyder with ‘Man of Steel’ back in 2013 – but Snyder was forced to step away after his daughter Autumn passed away in March.
Snyder was replaced by Whedon – who helmed the first two ‘Avengers’ movies – and Miller revealed Snyder was doing an “almost Whedony thing” before the filmmaker took over.
Speaking to Fox5DC.com, Miller said: “I definitely think it’s a realisation of a cohesive vision that comes, you know, mainly from Zack, and comes from, you know, the cumulative process of the building of the DCEU.
“And I definitely, I feel something that reflects majorly what Zack showed me in early comic frames in a lot of the movie.
“What’s funny is that I think that Zack was doing a much lighter, more comedic, almost more Whedony thing, and then Joss stepped on and was fulfilling Zack’s vision.
“It’s an incredible instance of two artists in collaboration, and honouring each other’s work.”
‘Justice League’ follows Batman (Ben Affleck) who, along with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), put a team together to stand against a newly awakened enemy.
The team includes The Flash (Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), but despite the team of heroes assembling it might be too late to save the planet.
Although Miller has dubbed ‘Justice League’ “lighter” than previous DCEU movies – including ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ – his co-star Henry Cavill, who stars as Superman in the franchise, said calling it “light” would be an “injustice”.
He said previously: “The tone of the film – I’m not going to say it is light, because that would be doing it an injustice. It has a serious scenario with moments of humour and lightness peppered throughout.”
Cavill then added that the humour in the movie is similar to “gallows humour”, in that the characters are making light of situations that would otherwise be “bad”.

Jason Momoa wants DC x Marvel crossover movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa would like to see a DC Extended Universe and Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover movie.
The 38-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Aquaman in DC’s ‘Justice League’ ensemble film, which hits screens later this month, and would love to see characters from both franchises unite.
Asked by guest presenter Ore Oduba – who was stepping in for Steve Wright – on BBC Radio 2 on Monday (06.11.17) afternoon, what the difference between DC and Marvel Comics is, he explained: “I don’t really know. Personally, I’d really like to get my butt to fight The Hulk [Mark Ruffalo] and take him into the ocean and show him my stuff too.
“Chris Hemsworth [Thor] is a really good friend of mine, there are so many awesome actors.
Robert Downey Jr. [Iron Man], I’d love to have the characters crossover.”
When asked by Ore if he’d like to see them face-off, he said: “Not necessarily face-off, but there is so much going on right now, there are some really cool things you can do from different perspectives.
“I don’t know, we’ve got enough negativity in the world.
“It would be cool to have a little crossover and work together.”
It’s not the first time a DC Extended Universe actor has suggested a crossover movie.
Ben Affleck – who portrays Batman in ‘Justice League’ – recently said he’d be open to the idea.
He said: “I don’t own Marvel or DC, but I think it would be great.
“I’m sure if it could be successful for everybody people would like to do it. I don’t see why not it’s a great idea.”
And Superman Henry Cavill said that DC and Marvel might be rivals among fans, but they need one another to survive as franchises
Sharing similar views to Affleck and Momoa, Cavill said previously: “I think the rivalry lives in the fans more so than it does in us.
“For all of us who are making these movies or I’m sure for the comic book artists and writers, there have been rivalries in the past but now it’s just about celebrating these characters, certainly for us.
“I mean, I’m sure when it comes to deep finances, when it comes to DC and Marvel there’s always going to be competition, yeah, but they need each other to survive as well. If one goes down that means superheroes aren’t popular and you don’t want that because if one goes down the other goes down.”

Mark Hamill says Luke Skywalker is haunted in The Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hamill has teased the Luke Skywalker that fans will see in ‘The Last Jedi’ is a character haunted by the decisions he has made and the tragedies that have happened in his life.
The 68-year-old actor reprises his role as the Jedi Master in the upcoming ‘Episode VIII’ and he admits Luke’s sole line in ‘The Force Awakens’, “I know only one truth, it’s time for the Jedi to end”, gives a huge insight into the mental state of the character.
Hamill admits the evil actions of Luke’s nephew Ben Solo – who became Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and murdered the new Jedi Order Luke was training – that occurred between ‘Episode VI: Return of the Jedi’ and ‘Episode VII: The Force Awakens’ have caused a profound change in Luke’s beliefs but he is adamant that he has not turned to the Dark Side like his father Anakin Skywalker did before him when he became Darth Vader.
Speaking to Disney Rewards magazine, Hamill said: “I don’t think Luke’s fundamental personality has changed [over the years], except that he is older and his life experiences have shaped his outlook the same way they do for all of us. The biggest challenge for me was actually in the time between ‘Return of the Jedi’ and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. I had to know what had happened to Luke during those years. I had to glean decades of backstory from the script. And some of it I had to make up for myself. I had to know what he went through during that time. It’s not important to the storyline for this film, but I did discuss some of my thoughts with Rian Johnson to make sure I wasn’t coming up with anything in my personal backstory that would affect Luke’s portrayal in this film. In ‘The Force Awakens’, Luke has lost confidence in his ability to make good choices. It haunts him to the core. But he hasn’t gone to the dark side. This isn’t an evil version of him. But it’s still an incarnation of the character I never expected. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s a real challenge.”
Hamill has teased that ‘The Last Jedi’ – which will focus on Luke’s relationship with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her significance in the galaxy – contains several “jaw-dropping surprises” and is very proud of the story that he and his castmates, who include John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and the late Carrie Fisher, have told.
He added: “I’m sure this line is a great shock to the audience [to hear Luke say that it’s time for the Jedi to end], so you can imagine how I felt! This is a huge change for a character who once represented optimism and hope. It’s a radical decision to drop out of everything he’s ever believed in. The entire movie is filled with these kinds of jaw-dropping surprises, but you’ll just have to see the film itself to discover what they are.”

Ben Affleck: Justice League has Zack Snyder’s DNA in it

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck says ‘Justice League’ still contains Zack Snyder’s “DNA”.
Filmmaker Snyder, 51, was responsible for kick-starting the DC Extended Universe movie with 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’ and he also directed 2016’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and was helming the upcoming superhero ensemble movie before he departed the project during the post-production phase in May just a few months after the death of his daughter, Autumn.
‘Avengers’ director-and-writer Joss Whedon then took over production and undertook some re-shoots for the final version.
Although Whedon, 53, finished off the DCEU film, Batman actor Affleck, 45, insists Snyder’s style and ideas run throughout the story.
Speaking to Den of Geek, Affleck said: “The movie is Zack’s DNA.
“He cast the movie, he designed the movie. There’s something that people, I think, who don’t work on movies don’t actually understand, which is how much of the work is done in prep.
“You know the casting; the sets get built; the story is written; the ship is in essence sailing. I found as a director you can maybe change 10 per cent, 15 per cent or something on the day.
“So Zack’s ship set sail for us, and we were fortunate that, when Zack was not able to continue, we got really lucky that we got a guy (Whedon) who was very accomplished in his own right, and particularly in this genre.
“He kind of sprinkled on some of his fairy dust on our movie and finished it.”
Snyder admits it was hard to relinquish control on the film but it was the right thing to do for him and his family, which includes his wife Deborah and his seven children from different relationships, in the wake of Autumn tragically taking her own life.
Once Whedon had taken over post-production duties Snyder admits he was content to leave him and his team to it and is as excited as the DC fans to see the final version.
‘The Watchmen’ director said: “It would be unfair in a lot of ways for me to get involved in the film now. I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job. But I’ve kind of just them do their thing.”
Affleck as The Caped Crusader will be united with Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg in ‘Justice League’ which hits cinemas later in November.

Carey Mulligan to portray Gloria Steinem

OHMYGOSSIP — Carey Mulligan will portray Gloria Steinem in a new movie.
The 32-year-old actress will play the political activist in motion picture ‘An Uncivil War’, with Dee Rees set to direct the film.
Sources told Variety that the movie has got the go-ahead, but a script is still being written for a second film based on Steinem’s life, ‘My Life on the Road’, which will see Julianne Moore take on the main part.
Production on ‘An Uncivil War’ is due to begin in March 2018 and it will tell the story of 83-year-old feminist activist Steinem’s quest to ratify the ERA, which was penned to give all citizens equal rights regardless of their sex.
Peter Heller is said to be producing the project alongside FilmNation Entertainment, which is fully financing the motion picture.
Mulligan worked with Rees on ‘Mudbound’, which is set in 1940s southern America, and the blonde star recently admitted she had to work hard to perfect her accent for the film.
She said: “I worked with the same dialogue coach for a while. He sent me lots of recordings from women from the south and I just had hope for the best.”
Mulligan has also expressed an interest in appearing in movies with “a lot of action”.
She explained: “I feel I’ve been stuck in the 19th Century for too long. I need to do something contemporary.
“I want to do more films set in the modern day that feel relevant to today. Some state of the nation pieces. I want to do something that requires a lot of action.”

Henry Cavill: Justice League isn’t light

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Cavill thinks calling ‘Justice League’ “light” would be “an injustice”.
The 34-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Clark Kent and his crime fighting alter-ego Superman when the DC Extended Universe ensemble movie hits cinemas later this month, and as said that whilst the feature has some comedic moments, it would be wrong to label it as light-hearted, as the overall tone is still “serious”.
He said: “The tone of the film – I’m not going to say it is light, because that would be doing it an injustice. It has a serious scenario with moments of humour and lightness peppered throughout.”
Henry then added that the humour in the movie is similar to “gallows humour”, in that the characters are making light of situations that would otherwise be “bad”.
Speaking to Disney Insider, Henry continued: “When people are in bad situations, gallows humour does come into effect. Like guys in the armed forces, a lot of them have really bizarre senses of humour, and it gets [them] through, and we have those. We have those in this movie.”
The star’s comments come after DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns insisted the movie was “hopeful and optimistic”, following the large amounts of negative criticism aimed at preceding film ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.
He said: “Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong. It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”
‘Justice League’ hits cinemas on November 16, and will also star Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ciarán Hinds and villain Steppenwolf.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ has been crowned the Best Soap at this year’s Inside Soap Awards.
The long-running ITV show has walked away with the prestigious gong for the third year running at the glamorous ceremony, held at London’s historic Hippodrome Casino, on Monday (06.11.17) after fighting off stiff competition from rivals ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ due to their impressive storylines.

The soap was also praised for having the Best Shock Twist after it was revealed that Andy Carver (Oliver Farnworth) was alive and had been held hostage by evil Phelan.
‘EastEnders’ didn’t walk away empty handed either as Davood Ghadami – who is currently taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – picked up Sexiest Male, while his co-star Gillian Taylforth was awarded the Outstanding Achievement gong.
‘Casualty’ levelled with the BBC One soap after they George Rainsford – who plays handsome doctor Ethan Hardy – scooped Best Drama Star and their dramatic helicopter crash, which saw the hospital destroyed, won Best Drama Storyline.

Ruth Langsford didn’t ‘plan’ to straddle Anton du Beke after dance fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford had “never planned” to straddle Anton du Beke during their routine on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ over the weekend.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist’s Paso Doble became the main talk of the show on Saturday (04.11.17) when she leapt on top of her partner after he accidentally fell over at the end of their “passable” routine.
But the 57-year-old presenter has admitted that raunchy move, which shocked viewers, wasn’t actually part of the choreography and she did it to save the dance after thinking quick on her feet.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (06.11.17), she said: “It’s that live TV moment, id never have planned to do that, he lost his balance. Basically, I thought ‘I know, I’ll throw myself over him and cover his embarrassment.’ I was quite disappointed because we’d done a fairly passable Paso up until that point. It’s all good fun isn’t it? And no dancers were injured during the making of that.”
But, despite the blunder, which Anton claimed was “marvellous art,” they managed to escape the dreaded dance-off and, instead, had to wave goodbye to their friend Aston Merrygold.
The JLS hunk was given the boot from the competition after head judge Shirley Ballas cast her deciding vote – opting to save Mollie King – but the result wasn’t without negativity as many viewers claimed that acid-tongue panellist Craig Revel Horwood had deliberately marked him down by giving him a four for his dance.
But Aston – a former favourite to win the Glitterball Trophy – wasn’t bitter and said he’d had “the best time” on the show.
He said: “Honestly, every second of this, I’ve had friends who have done the show before and they’ve gone, ‘You’re going to have the most amount of fun from start to finish whatever it is’, and honestly they weren’t lying!
“Everything, from this lady to every single person in here, these four judges, yourself, Claudia, all you amazing lot up there that I get to see and spend so much time with. I’ve made some amazing friends and honestly I’ve had the best time, it’s been amazing.”
