Malika Haqq to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house

OHMYGOSSIP — Malika Haqq is set to enter the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house tonight (02.01.17).
The 34-year-old actress – who is best friends with Khloe Kardashian – has reportedly been offered a mega-money deal to join the famous abode when the all-female series kicks off on Channel 5 as bosses are hoping she’ll spill the beans on the Kardashians.
A source told The Sun Online: “Not only is Malika friends with the most famous family in the planet, she has become a massive name in her own right. Show bosses have paid a huge amount of money to get her and they hope she will be able to to give an amazing insight into life with the Kardashians. On top of that she’s a really interesting person and she is going to make great TV. She’s got a chance of winning the show.”
This isn’t the first time a friend of the famous family have tried their luck on the British television show as Jonathan Cheban – who is close with Kim Kardashian West – signed up to it two years ago but the 43-year-old PR guru didn’t do as well as he had hoped.
The new series will see an all-female cast head into the iconic house in commemoration of 100 years since women won the right to vote.
A statement from Channel 5 said: “Presented by Emma Willis, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact, from politicians to performing artists, as they enter the house first, ahead of the celebrity male housemates. Over the course of the series, as the male counterparts enter the house, the housemates will take part in a series of entertaining tasks and hidden experiments which will test their – and our – assumptions, challenge gender stereotypes and reveal fascinating truths about what it is to be a woman – and man – in the 21st century.”
The line up is yet to be confirmed by Channel 5.

Sinitta makes Cheryl Tweedy dig

OHMYGOSSIP — Sinitta has made a dig at Cheryl Tweedy’s ‘X Factor’ appearance.
The 54-year-old star hit out at show boss Simon Cowell last year after he asked the 34-year-old singer to be his guest on the Judges’ Houses round of the talent show instead of her, and she has taken a swipe again, insisting the ratings dropped when the ‘Call My Name’ hitmaker appeared on the programme.
She told The Sun newspaper: “They don’t understand the viewers. Simon is so forward-looking that he’s zooming into the future.
“If you look at the recent episodes they are very different to the original ones but he needs to let the team catch up.
“It’s unfortunate because a show like that always needs new ideas.
“Even Cheryl’s week didn’t stop it losing one million viewers.”
Sinitta previously slammed Simon – who she once dated – saying he could kiss her “black ass” after she was dropped from the segment.
Speaking in September, she said: “I will always love Simon. He is like a father figure meets brother figure and ex-lover figure to me, and of course my mentor for over three decades.
“But right now he can kiss my black ass.
“Simon promised me the job for life and said he didn’t ever want to do it with anyone else.”
But a few months later, the ‘So Macho’ hitmaker admitted she regretted her unladylike outburst.
She said: “I’m over it now. I must admit, it was a bit unladylike when I talked about my… you know… I told [Simon] to kiss my black [behind] – that wasn’t lady like.”
She also reached out to the music mogul last year when he was rushed to hospital after taking a tumble down a flight of stairs.
She explained: “The friendship is more important than the show, isn’t it? First of all, it wasn’t me [that pushed him]. [His collapse] did actually help cure the rift because you go, ‘Oh my gosh, something has happened’. All of a sudden, I was just concerned about him.”

Jack Whitehall’s new year nudity vow

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Whitehall is resolving to keep his pants on in 2018.
The ‘Fresh Meat’ star – who is set to host the 2018 Brit Awards in February – revealed he now insists on having contractual approval over his bottom as he is fed up of it appearing on TV.
Jack told The Sun newspaper: “Especially on ‘A League of Their Own’, I’m always naked. There’s a lot of my a***
“I said, this series gone, ‘If you show my a***, I want you to send official approval’.
“So I’ve been giving approval now whether they can use my bottom. It feels like you should always have approval.
“From day one, that should have been in my contract.”
The ‘Bad Education’ star even had to expose his behind when appearing in the BBC drama adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s ‘Decline and Fall’.
Jack said: “My heart sank. I thought, ‘Comedy drama. Finally I might keep my clothes on.’ First scene, they’re down.”
The 29-year-old comedian has stripped off for hit Channel 4 sitcom ‘Fresh Meat’, the ‘Bad Education’ movie and once shared a nude mudbath with Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff for Sky One quiz show ‘A League of Their Own’.
Jack – who has reportedly split from girlfriend Gemma Chan after six years of dating – once revealed he was forced to show producers of ‘Fresh Meat’ his bottom so they could decide whether or not it was too hairy for TV.
He said previously: “I had to pull down my pants and let them look at my bottom and decide whether or not it should be waxed. They decided they didn’t need to because it was a long shot. But having your bum looked at to see if it’s too hairy for the screen? Amazing.”

But now, the star has revealed she and her partner Alex Daw are officially expecting once again, as she dubbed their upcoming arrival as a “rainbow baby”, which refers to good news following tragedy.
Jessica confirmed the news in an Instagram post, when she shared a snap of her family drawn in little pictures, with the last one featuring a baby inside a pregnant stomach.
She wrote: “Well, it is the start of the New Year, so best to start It off with how I mean to go on! WITH GOOD NEWS!!! We have a little rainbow baby on the way #newblogpost link in bio 2017 was a year of fun, sadness, change, laughter and love. 2018 is the year! Happy new year! (sic)”
And in a blog post also shared with her fans, the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star reflected on her tumultuous 2017, which she said ended in the “best” way.

“Which leads me to the best part of 2017….. finding out I will be having a little rainbow baby this year! (sic)”

The 30-year-old star said: “I let myself feel sad, but not for long, because there were so many more reasons to smile. I smiled for my children, my relationship, our health, the roof over our heads, my family, friends and just being here.”

Hailee Steinfeld’s audition drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailee Steinfeld “begged” ‘Pitch Perfect’ producers to wait for her to fly to Los Angeles because she didn’t trust auditioning for the movie online.
The 21-year-old actress and singer was desperate for a part in the hit movie but was worried about losing internet connection during her audition so she convinced the team to wait for her to make it to LA.
She said: “I heard that there was a part for me, and I was actually away making another movie, and I begged for them to wait for me to get to Los Angeles so I could come in and audition. They suggested doing a Skype audition, but I was so freaked out about that, because I figured I’d lose internet connection in the middle of the audition and then it would just be terrible! So they waited for me to get to LA and I auditioned, then a week later, I was there [on set].”
And Hailee – who plays Emily in ‘Pitch Perfect’ 2 and 3 – doesn’t “want to believe that” the films are over and she is hoping there is a feature for the Bellas somewhere.
Speaking on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, she added: “I don’t wanna believe that [this is the last sequel]. I obviously don’t know anything for sure, but … hopefully. It’s hard to believe that it’s entirely over for them [the Bellas].”
It comes after Anna Kendrick – who plays Beca in the movie franchise – said she would be up for at least four more movies “if it was up to her”.
She shared: “If it were up to us, we’d be like, four, five, six, seven [films], but it’s probably good that it’s not up to us because we don’t have ideas! But we wanted to make it a satisfying ending [for Pitch Perfect 3], if it is the ending, so we’re treating it like the ending and hopefully we will get to work together again some day.”

Joe Russo says superheros ought to feel ‘pain’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ director Joe Russo feels it’s important that superheros “feel pain”.
The American film director, who is co-helming the project alongside his brother Anthony, has underlined the importance of giving some human-like characteristics to on-screen heroes in order to make them more relatable.
Joe said: “We love being told good stories, and we love telling good stories, and all of our energy, and our effort, and our thought, and our passion goes into telling the best story that we can. And for us, the best stories have stakes.
“Characters have to make sacrifices. To really, really feel the true emotion and the hero’s journey they have to go through trials and those trails could cost them something.”
Joe feels it’s imperative his characters experience pain because it helps to make them more inspirational.
He said: “For us, its very important that the heroes feel pain and that they make sacrifices because I think that, not only is a great storytelling, but it also is inspiring and I think we need a lot of inspiration in this world right now.
“So, for us, I don’t know if we can ever get you to accept it, but I promise you this: we’ll do our damnedest to tell you the best story possible, and what you do with it from there is up to you.”
Meanwhile, actress Karen Gillan – who plays Nebula in the Marvel ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Avengers’ movies – recently claimed that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will be a “cinematic event”.
Karen is excited for fans to see the upcoming film and she insisted they will be blown away by what they watch.
She shared: “I mean, this is so vague but genuinely this is going to be more than a movie, it’s going to be like a cinematic event.
“Anyone who is a Marvel fan and knows stuff from 10 years ago will see it become relevant in this. It’s like everything that you’ve known about Marvel is building to this movie.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi to top 1 billion at global box office

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney’s ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is set to rake in over $1 billion at the global box office.
The movie has been a worldwide success, despite dividing fans of the long-running franchise, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it is set to “eclipse ‘Beauty and the Beast’ ($1.26 billion) to rank as the top-grossing release of 2017 globally”.
Meanwhile, ‘The Last Jedi’ actor Mark Hamill has admitted he “regrets” voicing his criticism about Luke Skywalker in the movie.
The 66-year-old actor has played the iconic character in the film franchise since the first instalment was released in 1967, and recently revealed he was unhappy with the way director Rian Johnson portrayed him in the recently released eighth episode of the sci-fi saga, as Luke seemingly “gives up”, something which Mark doesn’t believe a Jedi would ever do.
However, after claiming he had “fundamental differences” with the director during filming, he has now said these clashes are “common” on film sets but are usually kept private.
Opting instead to praise 44-year-old Rian, Mark wrote on Twitter: “I regret voicing my doubts & insecurities in public.Creative differences are a common element of any project but usually remain private. All I wanted was to make good movie. I got more than that- @rianjohnson made an all-time GREAT one! #HumbledHamill (sic)”
Previously, Mark had said he had spoken to Rian about one particular scene in which Luke seems to give up, claiming he did as he was told by the director in order to make the “ending effective”.
He said: “I said to Rian, ‘Jedis don’t give up.’ I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup. But if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong. So, right there we had a fundamental difference, but it’s not my story anymore. It’s somebody else’s story – and Rian needed me to be a certain way to make the ending effective. That’s the crux of my problem. Luke would never say that. I’m sorry.”
Mark went on to state that 73-year-old franchise creator George Lucas – who sold the franchise to Disney along with production company Lucasfilm in 2012 – would have handled Luke’s story in a different way, and said he no longer feels like the role is “his Luke Skywalker” any more.
He added: “Well, in this version, see I’m talking about the George Lucas ‘Star Wars’. This is the next generation of ‘Star Wars’, so I almost had to think of Luke as another character. Maybe he’s Jake Skywalker. He’s not my Luke Skywalker, but I had to do what Rian wanted me to do because it serves the story well.”

Jodie Foster blasts superhero movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Foster believes superhero films are “ruining the viewing habits of moviegoers”.
The Academy Award-winning star has hit out at big budget blockbuster movies made in Hollywood, saying that the current fascination with superhero films is doing long-term damage to the industry.
She explained: “Going to the movies has become like a theme park. Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking – you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth.”
Jodie, 55, didn’t cite any particular films – but she admitted to being specifically concerned about the impact of superhero movies.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the veteran star shared: “It’s ruining the viewing habits of the American population and then ultimately the rest of the world. I don’t want to make $200 million movies about superheroes.”
This comes shortly after Jodie revealed she makes movies to “figure out who she is”.
The actress-turned-director said that her films help her to evolve as an individual, which is one of the reasons they’re so important to her.
She explained: “Some directors love cranes and CGI and spectacle, but that is not why I make movies. I feel like I make movies because there are things I have to say in order to figure out who I am or my place in the world, or for me to evolve as a person.
“But until you get to the end of your movie you don’t always realise why you were obsessed with that particular thing.”

Samuel L Jackson doesn’t want to be a director

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L Jackson doesn’t want to direct movies because they take up too much time.
The prolific actor has made over 175 movies but admits that he currently has no desire to step behind the camera because directing is such a laborious process.
He explained to Vulture: “I’m still not bitten by the directing bug. What’s keeping me from directing is the fact that directing takes up almost a year of your life, and when you direct a movie you’ve got to cut it and then you’ve got to be dealing with the music and then you’ve got to run around the world talking about it — and [as an actor] I could do four movies in that time.”
However, Samuel said that teaching a recent acting module for the video-lecture series MasterClass has shown him that he has the patience to be a director.
He explained: “I think I learned that I wouldn’t be as difficult an individual as a director as I thought I would be. Workshopping the scenes with the acting students, I actually had fun doing it, and I don’t like to blast actors, but I think the fact that I was able to do it but not abrasively was surprising to me. I didn’t get upset with them because they didn’t get every damn word I wanted them to do. I was sort of surprised at myself that I didn’t snap at people. So I think I could do it!”
Meanwhile, although he is a frequent Quentin Tarantino collaborator, Samuel has no idea if he will be in the director’s upcoming movies.
He said: “I never take anything for granted in the movie business! You can’t assume that you’re going to be in something just because you’ve been in all the rest of them. I can’t make that assumption. I’m not in ‘Death Proof’!”

Kem Cetinay fears he will kill his Dancing on Ice partner

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay is worried about killing his ‘Dancing On Ice’ partner.
The ‘Love Island’ star admits he is really “clumsy” and is scared his time on the ice will end up with the death of himself or his professional ice skating partner Alex Murphy.
He said: “I’m more worried about it being ‘Death On Ice’. I’m just not sure whose death. I’m scared of dropping Alex on her head or tripping her over. She’s been great and has got a lot of faith in me, but I can be clumsy. It will be a miracle if I don’t break something before the show has finished.”
Kem was asked to appear on the revamp of the ITV show as soon as he left the villa but it took him a good two months before he finally said yes to producers.
He added to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: “They approached me to do Dancing On Ice as soon as I came out of the Love Island villa. I took two months to decide until they said time had run out and I had to make a decision. I thought, ‘What do I have to lose, apart from maybe a broken leg?’ Dancing On Ice has been good for me. I’m training hard, I’ve really got into it.”
Kem – who is currently single after splitting from Amber Davies – has grown really close to Alex, her boyfriend and her family.
He shared: “You get really close with them though, like I FaceTime her mum and boyfriend after the session and I’m ruined. Because her mum’s a coach as well so I chat to them, but you’re with them all the time.”

Ashley Banjo predicts Dancing On Ice romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Banjo predicts two ‘Dancing On Ice’ couples could get together on the show.
The Diversity star – who is set to appear on the judging panel of the ITV show alongside Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – has “got his eye” on a couple of celebrities who are “getting on really well” with their professional ice skating partners.
Ashley said: “I’ve already got my eye on a couple but I’m not going to name names! I think there are some couples who are getting on really well.”
Whilst Jayne added to The Sun newspaper: “One of the new professional skaters, who said she’s single, says she wants to marry Max Evans! Someone in production told me. I think there are lots of girls who would like to marry Max.”
Meanwhile, Ashley previously confessed he will laugh if any of the ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestants fall over.
He said: “I haven’t seen any of [the contestants] skate but I heard Kem [Cetinay] had a nasty fall. That’s what makes us love the show though – that really primal thing of waiting to see if they fall over. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I’m the worst for [laughing if that happens]. I spend my life in a group of boys and if anyone falls over it’s comedic gold so I”ll probably laugh if someone falls over on the ice.”
When it comes to judging the hopefuls, Ashley is on the lookout for people who keep him entertained.
He added: “I’ll be the honest one. It’s great if they can nail the technical aspects but what I’m looking for is if it can entertain and affect me. I’ll either be really easy to please or really hard to please, I’m not sure which.”

Adam Thomas’ panto is cancelled

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas’ last two pantomime performances have been cancelled.
The 29-year-old actor has recently been appearing in a production of ‘Jack And The Beanstalk’ in Newcastle, where he’s been starring alongside veteran actress Denise Welch, but the final shows have been scrapped due to a pay dispute.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “The situation is that half the cast have not been paid. Some of the cast haven’t even been paid since the start of the production.
“They’ve repeatedly been promised payment and it hasn’t materialised … significant money is missing.”
It was claimed too, that NS Pantomimes, the company behind the production, had an agreement in place that allowed them to house some of its cast with local landlords.
However, they were forced to seek alternative accommodation after the company was unable to pay their bills.
Adam was reportedly willing to take to the stage for the final two shows.
But as a sizeable number of his co-stars were not prepared to perform, the productions had to be cancelled.
A source told MailOnline: “Adam Thomas did not refuse to go on stage but other cast members did therefore the remaining shows could not go ahead as scheduled.”
Meanwhile, Denis previously pulled out of the show because of complications with the production.
In a statement, she said: “I am so terribly upset and disappointed that I will no longer be appearing in the Times Square Pantomime in Newcastle.
“Those who know me and have supported me during my 40-year career will know how passionate I am about my job, Newcastle and its people.
“All I ever wanted was to star in a fabulous, spectacular pantomime that I have been publicising since February. If there was anything I could do to change this regrettable situation I would. Legally, I can say no more but I write this with a heavy heart.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nathan Massey has vowed to “grow up” after becoming a dad.
The 25-year-old reality TV star and his on/off girlfriend Cara De La Hoyde -who met each other and found fame on ITV2’s ‘Love Island’ – recently welcomed their son Freddie George and Nathan says the tot has changed his life.
Speaking to OK! magazine, he said: “I’m on top of the world. I feel amazing. It’s a love you can’t explain. It’s a shock but it feels natural. You instantly grow up. When he’s laying there I’ll do everything to make sure that he can’t be in any harm.
“I grew closer to Cara watching her go through labour. It was such a good experience.
“We’re complete and we’re so happy. Everything has calmed down. When we first came out of ‘Love Island’ it was all rushed, but now we take our time.
“We thank ‘Love Island’ for bringing us together and being the reason that Freddie is here.”
Although Nathan and Cara, 27, had broken up after she got pregnant, they rekindled their romance before Freddie was born and are happier than ever.

“He’ll stay for a takeaway and a film.”

Alan Carr says The Price Is Right is ‘just what the doctor ordered’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr thinks the return of ‘The Price Is Right’ is “just what the doctor ordered”.
The 41-year-old comedian presented a one-off special of the iconic game show on Saturday (30.12.17) – which could eventually lead to a permanent comeback for the show – and Alan believes the return of the programme has come at the perfect moment in time.
He said: “It’s good old family fun and I think in the current climate a nice big helping of nostalgia to make us feel all snuggly is just what the doctor ordered.”
‘The Price Is Right’ is one of the oldest and most popular game shows in TV history and Alan has attributed its success through the decades to the simplicity of the format.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the presenter explained: “It’s such a simple idea and the best game shows, I think, are the ones that are simple.
“We all like a guessing game and with Black Friday gaining momentum every year and our appetite for sniffing out the best prices of things online or in shops, it’s still an interesting idea.”
Alan also admitted it feels surreal that he’s now responsible for uttering the show’s famous ‘come on down’ catchphrase.
Asked how he felt about following in the footsteps of previous hosts, such as Sir Bruce Forsyth and Leslie Crowther, Alan replied: “It was surreal.
“I remember sitting in the lounge in the 80s with my parents in Northampton watching Leslie Crowther and Brucie do it, so for me to be saying that iconic catchphrase in 2017 felt weird.”
