Sir Lenny Henry to present It’s Alive

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Lenny Henry is set to present new comedy show ‘It’s Alive’.
The 59-year-old funnyman hasn’t been the face of a primetime show for over six years since he took on BBC One series ‘The Magicians’, but after taking some time to star in drama shows such as ‘Broadchurch’, the comedian is back to bring more laughs to Saturday nights.
Lenny will be hosting ‘It’s Alive’, a new studio-based programme featuring sketches, songs and celebrity chats, which is set to tape its pilot episode for ITV later this month.
A show insider told The Sun newspaper: “Sir Lenny may be known these days as an actor in hard-hitting dramas and Shakespearean plays, but he’ll always be a comedian at heart.
“ITV wants to bring Lenny back to his comic roots in It’s Alive – and from ideas he’s mooted for it with producers, it’s going to have viewers in fits of laughter.
“A pilot of the show will be recorded in front of an audience later this month in the hope it will be turned into a full series to air later this year.
“It’s being tipped to be placed in the primetime Saturday night slot that has been occupied by the likes of ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’, ‘X Factor’ and ‘The Voice’.”
It comes after the comedian starred in the final series of ‘Broadchurch’ last year as Ed Burnett, alongside the likes of David Tennant and Olivia Coleman.
Speaking about the series, Lenny previously said: “It’s been a fantastic experience to be involved with as a series. This has been very exciting working with Sarah and with David and Olivia. They have been really welcoming, welcomed all the new people to the cast. It’s good to be Ed Burnett with my own farm shop. We don’t want to give too much away. I’m not allowed to say anything. It’s a secret, I can’t tell you.”

Jonny Mitchell ‘dodged a bullet’ splitting with Stephanie Pratt

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonny Mitchell thinks he “dodged a bullet” by splitting up with Stephanie Pratt.
The couple hit the headlines at the end of last year when the ‘Made in Chelsea’ beauty accused the ‘Love Island’ hunk of cheating on her – allegations he’s denied – on social media but, although the relationship was “real” for him, he’s glad he got out of there.
Speaking to OK! magazine, he said: “For me it was 100 per cent real, but I’ve got no idea what it was for her. She used to talk about when we broke up rather than if. It’s a shame because I really liked her.
“I think I’ve dodged a bullet so I’m not worrying about the aftermath. There’s no way I’d ever go back. She used to talk about everyday life like it was a TV show.”
Stephanie, 31, accused Jonny, 26, of abusing her throughout their relationship but the hunk is adamant that isn’t true because she was the one who wore the trousers.
He explained: “‘I was completely baffled and still am. She also said she had video of me attacking her, but I categorically deny there was ever any abuse and I haven’t heard from the police. Dating Steph Pratt was a surreal experience for me anyway. I was very much not wearing the trousers in that situation so I wouldn’t have done anything to screw it up. I was really into her and I’m gutted this is how things have turned out.”
Jonny shot to fame over the summer when he took part in ‘Love Island’ and, although he loved the show, he would prefer to do ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
He said: “I wouldn’t like people who need attention. That bugged me on ‘Love Island’ – if some people didn’t have the attention on them for a minute then they had to do something. Watching it in there it’s very transparent, but on television it isn’t.’
“I was myself in ‘Love Island’. The things I got stick for was the stuff that you wouldn’t in real life. It was a dating show and I was dating.
“They were all jumping from partner to partner. I did it once. If I did go in I wouldn’t go in there with any sort of game plan. Hopefully ‘CBB’ would be a bit more realistic.”

Doreen Keogh dies aged 91

OHMYGOSSIP — Doreen Keogh has died at the age of 91.
The actress – who played ‘Coronation Street’s first barmaid Concepta Regan – passed away “peacefully” on New Year’s Eve (31.12.17), her family have announced.
Her niece and nephews – Laurence, Matthew and Christina Keogh – said in a statement: “Our auntie Doreen died peacefully in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny, Ireland, on New Year’s Eve after a long illness.”
Doreen was arguably most famous for her role in the ITV soap, which she first appeared in 1960. She was there for four years and then later returned to the show in the 1970s.
Doreen also had notable appearances in ‘The Royle Family’ as Mary Carroll as well as recurring parts in ‘Father Ted’ and ‘Cold Feet’. She was also a big theatre performer and starred in a number of stage shows including those with The Royal Shakespeare Company.
‘Coronation Street’ bosses led tributes to the late actress.
John Whiston, the Creative Director at ITV Studios, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “All at Coronation Street are sad to hear about the death of Doreen Keogh. There have been many barmaids in the Rovers over the years, dispensing pints and wisdom in equal measure. But Doreen played the first and so has a unique place not just in the history of the show but in the affection of all who watch The Street. Our thoughts are with the family as they mourn the passing of a wonderful person. And together with our audience we also mourn the passing of a very special actor.”
Doreen is survived by her husband Jack Jenner.

John Williams to compose theme for Han Solo movie

OHMYGOSSIP — John Williams is composing a theme for the Han Solo ‘Star Wars’ spin-off movie.
The five-time Academy Award winning composer has created the score for all of the ‘Star Wars’ movies to date except one – ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ – and in a recent interview with Variety, Williams revealed he is creating a theme for ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’.
Williams, 85, said: “The present plan is that I’m writing a theme for Han Solo, and John Powell is going to write the score, which he’ll do brilliantly. His assignment is something I’m very happy about. What I will do is offer this to John, and to Ron Howard [director], and if all parties are happy with it, then I will be happy.”
‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ focuses on the early years of Han Solo, the Millennium Falcon owning space smuggler who becomes one of the heroes of the Rebel Alliance in their mission to destroy the Empire.
Alden Ehrenreich is taking over the iconic role from Harrison Ford, who portrayed the character in four films and for the final time in 2015’s ‘The Force Awakens’.
Han and Chewbacca will be seen first meeting Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and they will also encounter Woody Harrelson’s alter ego Beckett, who is believed to be a mentor to young Han who guides him on his journey to becoming an intergalactic criminal.
Ron Howard took over the director’s chair from Phil Lord and Chris Miller – who left the prequel spin-off due to creative differences – and although he felt the pressure of contributing a tale to the ‘Star Wars’ universe he relished every aspect of the job.
Howard said: “Those are challenging projects. And they take, you know, a lot of very talented people’s energy to try to live up to the legacy of ‘Star Wars’ and everything that it means.
“Of course, no spoilers coming from me but I had a great experience and I think fans are going to really enjoy it.”

David F. Sandberg defends Shazam! movie

OHMYGOSSIP — David F. Sandberg has urged haters to wait and see ‘Shazam!’ before criticising the DC Extended Universe movie.
The 36-year-old filmmaker will be helming the new superhero film, which has been penned by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke, but although not much information is known about the film at the moment, Sandberg has warned fans against assuming what it will be like this early in the process.
On Twitter, Sandberg responded to fans who claimed that the movie would be inspired by DC’s “New 52” version of the character and one went on to suggest to “steer clear of this movie till the DCEU gets a reboot.
Sandberg replied: “Not to stop you from having an opinion about something that doesn’t exist yet, it’s the internet after all, but as I designate a movie the obligatory Best/Worst Ever!!
“I find it helpful sometimes to have more info than a few characters names. Sometimes I’ll even wait for a trailer of some sort if I really want to go crazy. (sic)”
It was recently announced that Zachary Levi will portray Billy Baston’s adult superhero alter ego Captain Marvel, alongside Asher Angel as the teenage version.
‘IT’ star Jack Dylan Grazer and Grace Fulton will both also star in the movie as Billy’s best friends and Mark Strong will take on the villain role.
‘Shazam!’ will focus on Billy, a boy who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word “Shazam”.
The word is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury.
Captain Marvel was created by C.C. Beck and writer Bill Parker back in 1939 and first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 a year later.
Captain Marvel’s arch nemesis is the supervillain Black Adam, who will be played by Dwayne Johnson in a separate film which will build to a future big screen adventure in which they will both clash.
Recently, Johnson, 45, confirmed he was offered the opportunity to play both DC Comics characters, but decided to take on Black Adam because there’s more depth to his backstory.

James Gunn responds to Jodie Foster’s superhero comments

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn has responded to Jodie Foster’s comments about superhero movies – insisting she is wrong about what “spectacle films” can be.
The 55-year-old actress-and-director recently criticised the popular genre of movies in an interview with Radio Times in which she compared them to “fracking” and that they are “ruining the viewing habits” of the public.
She said: “Going to the movies has become like a theme park. Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking – you get the best return right now but your wreck the earth. It’s ruining the viewing habits of the American population and then ultimately the rest of the world.”
Now the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has given his views on the Academy Award winner’s comments and said she is looking at film in an “old-fashioned way” and not taking notice of the humane messages contained in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
Writing on Twitter, Gunn said: “I think Foster looks at film in an old-fashioned way where spectacle film can’t be thought-provoking.
“It’s often true but not always. Her belief system is pretty common and isn’t totally without basis. I say not without basis because most studio franchise films are quite soulless – and that is a real danger to the future of movies. But there are also quite a few exceptions. For cinema to survive I believe spectacle films NEED to have a vision and heart they traditionally haven’t. And some of us are doing our best to move in that direction. Creating spectacle films that are innovative, humane, and thoughtful is what excites me about this job.
“But, to be fair, at least from Foster’s quotes, she seems to see filmmaking as something that’s primarily about her own personal growth. For me, that may be part of why I do this, but spending many millions of dollars on a film has to be about more than that – it’s communication – so my experience is merely one spoke on that wheel. But I respect Foster and what she’s done for films and I appreciate her different way of looking at Hollywood’s landscape. (sic)”

Nick Jonas says Jack Black is amazing team player

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas said Jack Black is an “amazing team player” and made their screen kiss in ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ easy.
The 25-year-old star appears alongside Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Black and Karen Gillan in the sequel to the 1995 Robin Williams classic ‘Jumanji’ and in one scene his alter ego Jefferson ‘Seaplane’ McDonough, the avatar of Alex Vreeke, is kissed by Black’s character Professor Sheldon ‘Shelly’ Oberon, a cartographer, cryptographer, archaeologist and paleontologist who is Bethany’s avatar.
Jonas admits it took a few takes for him and Black, 48, to nail the smooch but they were able to do it because of their connection.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, he said: “It was important for the story. We did have to do quite a few takes but Jack is an amazing team player. He and I really connected. He loves a good meal, as do I, so we ventured out to some of local spots on Oahu, Hawaii, where we were shooting.”
Unlike the original, the new film follows four high school teenagers who discover an old video game console and are transported into the game’s jungle setting, becoming the adult avatars they chose.
The four must work together to survive in the jungle and beat the game in order to return to the real world or they will be stuck forever.
The sequel was shot on site in the Hawaiian jungle and Jonas revealed it was the same location where ‘Jurassic Park’ was filmed.
He said: “Oh, we were pretty deep in the jungle, all right. It was like an hour-and-a-half drive into the middle of these mountains where they had shot ‘Jurassic Park’. And it was really hot.”
Jonas’ co-star Gillan, 30, recently revealed the worst part of filming in the jungle was the carnivorous centipedes which would drop from the trees.
Gillan said: “It was so much rehearsal. I was training every single day: martial arts, basic punching and kicking and then learning how to dance, which was totally foreign to me.
“But the worst part was the centipedes in the jungle. They would fall from trees at any given moment so you were never safe.
“It was horrible. I had to up my calorie intake. It was never about losing weight, it was about gaining muscle and becoming stronger, which I think was really cool actually. It felt good.”

Alexandre Desplat praises ‘passionate’ Guillermo del Toro

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandre Desplat has described Guillermo del Toro as a “passionate, generous filmmaker”.
The 56-year-old film composer teamed up with the Mexican filmmaker on his latest love story ‘The Shape of Water’ and admitted he believes this collaboration is one of his best he has ever done.
In an interview with Variety, Desplat said: “He’s a passionate, generous filmmaker. He’s a very sensitive man, he’s full of emotions, and when the music you play to him is right, you immediately can feel the feedback. He’s moved, he’s excited, he’s precise in his comments when something can be adjusted. It’s been a dream working with Guillermo. This movie has been one of my more beautiful collaborations through the years, and I think this movie is in the top, top list of the movies I loved working on, and I’m proud of.”
‘The Shape of Water’ follows mute, isolated woman Elisa (Sally Hawkins) who works as a janitor in a government laboratory in 1962 but her life changes forever when she discovers the lab’s classified secret is an amphibious creature known as The Asset (Doug Jones).
As Elisa develops a unique bond with The Asset she soon learns that the being’s fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist.
The two lead characters never speak a word to each other over the course of the plot and del Toro’s decision to do this was to emphasise that love is “not about words but emotion”.
The Mexican filmmaker – who previously revealed his movie was inspired by classic Universal monster movie ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ – said: “The two lead characters don’t speak because love is not about words but about emotion and identifying an essence with the other and I thought it would be more powerful if they don’t tell each other ‘I love you’ or ‘How was your day?’
“Instead it was a real connection. The only way to talk about love would be through singing and there’s a beautiful sequence in the movie which is a musical number where she gets to sing and all these things are related and I think that everything has been planned.”

Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘important’ Stronger role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Gyllenhaal says ‘Stronger’ is the “most important” movie he has ever made.
The 37-year-old star portrays Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman – who had both of his legs blown off near the finish line of the event in April 2013 – in the motion picture and admitted the film means more than any other because it helped Jeff to “heal”.
He said: “This movie has changed me in ways that I can’t really put into words and is the most important film I’ve made so far for a number of reasons. I think we helped [Jeff] see things about himself that helped him heal, which, to me, is why I think this movie means more to me than anyone I’ve ever made.”
Gyllenhaal was “terrified” about being introduced to Jeff – whose memoir ‘Stronger’ inspired the movie – but now talks to him on a daily basis after spending two-and-a-half years shooting the film.
He added: “I was terrified to meet him. But he trusted me. I have no clue why. We talk almost every day and I love him. If this movie only helped Jeff survive, then the two-and-a-half years I’ve spent making it have been worthwhile. If it touches anyone else, it’s extra credit.”
The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor knew as soon as he read the ‘Stronger’ script that he wanted to portray Jeff in the project, and admits it was a “once-in-a-lifetime” role.
Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Awards Chatter’ podcast, he added: “I just fell in love with the character. That’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing.”
Despite this, Gyllenhaal recently admitted he struggled to get into the right mindset for ‘Stronger’ – which was directed by David Gordon Green – and carried an “extraordinary doubt” about taking on the part.
He said: “I am playing a guy who survived and thrived, and some part of acting is wish fulfilment, in that you believe you are like the characters you are playing. But I realised I didn’t think I’d have been able to do what Jeff did.
“And so there was always this extraordinary doubt and fraudulence in my mind as I was exploring the role.
“Then, about halfway through shooting, I realised I was being very tough on myself and doubting myself. It was exactly how Jeff felt. He doubted himself and his own masculinity.”

Anthony Russo: Avengers: Infinity War to shake up life for Thor

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is set to shake up life for Thor following the end of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, according to directors the Russo brothers.
At the end of the third movie starring Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God – which was released in October 2017 – the titular character finds his home world of Asgard in ruins, and life isn’t set to get any easier for the character in the upcoming Marvel comics ensemble movie either.
Anthony and Joe Russo, who are directing the feature, have announced the story of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ picks up right where ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ left off, meaning the God of Thunder will still be picking up the pieces of his shattered home world.
Asked which character he was looking forward to seeing on the big screen the most, Anthony Russo, 44, said: “I’m going to pick Thor because Thor, we’re picking up his story from the end of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and at the end of that film as any fan would know his home planet of Asgard is destroyed, and so the character is in new territory so to speak, because his past has been torn away from him to a degree.”
The filmmaker also compared Thor’s storyline to that of fellow Marvel star Captain America, played by Chris Evans, in the Russo brothers’ first movie for the franchise, ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Anthony said: “I think it’s very similar to Captain America’s situation when we picked up his story in Winter Solider when Joe and I came on to do our first movie for Marvel. Cap was in a place where we were very much catching him up in the modern world and seeing what that meant to him, and figuring out how you move a character that far forward and that far away from where they started back during the 40s, so I think in Thor we have similar opportunities with that character in this movie is that he’s going through a radical transformation and he’s moving forward in a way where he can never go back, and that’s always a fun place to be with a character as a storyteller.”

New Star Wars movie to shoot in Scotland

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Episode I’ of the new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy is to be filmed in Scotland.
‘The Last Jedi’ director Rian Johnson is to helm the first instalment in the new saga of films, which will be set in the ‘Star Wars’ world but outside of the Luke Skywalker story.
Now the Scottish newspaper Daily Record has reported shooting is expected to begin in Argyll and the north Highlands in June.
One location producers hope to use is known as The Rest and Be Thankful – a historic pass between Loch Long and Loch Awe that rises to 860ft.
An insider revealed: “As is now customary with any ‘Star Wars’ production, the movie is shrouded in secrecy but they want to shoot scenes around the Rest and Be Thankful. Further filming has been pencilled in for elsewhere in the country.”
VisitScotland chief executive Malcolm Roughead is delighted at the prospect of a boost to tourism from ‘Star Wars’ fans.
He said: “Scotland is a familiar sight on the big screen with recent major productions such as ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’, ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ and the soon-to-be released ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ all taking advantage of our wonderful landscape and rich heritage.
“A further major production, such as ‘Star Wars’ – one of the biggest cinematic franchises in the world – coming to Scotland would be a huge benefit to tourism and the economy, and a blockbusting addition to the discerning film fan’s set-jetting itinerary.”
Following his success directing the eighth instalment of the hit sci-fi franchise, ‘The Last Jedi’, Rian will return at the helm of the first movie in the new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy, currently using the working title ‘Episode I’.
Nothing else has currently been announced about the plot for the new film, and as it will follow a new central theme it is unknown if any of the characters from the current saga will appear.
The original ‘Star Wars’ world was created by George Lucas and is currently in the hands of producer J.J. Abrams.
George is said to be co-writing the new story with Rian.

Talulah-Eve Brown drops out of Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Talulah-Eve Brown has reportedly dropped out of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 23-year-old transgender model – who shot into the limelight when she took part in ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’ last year – was supposed to enter the famous house tonight (02.01.17) when the new series launches, but she’s had a change of heart since finding out that her rival India Willoughby had signed up to the competition as well.
A source told The Sun Online: “It’s now the second time Talulah’s turned down ‘CBB’. But this time for a different reason, the reports of India going in put her off.
“They both knew each other and got on in the past, but they recently appeared on ‘Good Morning Britain’ and ended up having a very heated debate.
“After the show, India started indirectly insulting Talulah-Eve on Twitter, by retweeting nasty tweets about her voice. Two thousand and seventeen was a great year for Talulah, with a lot in store for 2018. She wants to keep everything on the positive and felt that being in environment with India would not have gone down well at all.
“Talulah-Eve is a very strong but also very likeable character. However, she didn’t want to constantly be at loggerheads with India.”
But, although Talulah-Eve has decided to drop out, viewers are still in for a treat as the newspaper has since released the official line up of the forthcoming series.
Among those taking part include former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Ashley James, Ex on the Beach’s Jess Impiazzi, Malika Haqq, soap actress Amanda Barrie, Boris Johnson’s sister Rachel Johnson, Ann Widdecombe and one more mystery woman.
The series will see an all-female cast head into the iconic house in commemoration of 100 years since women won the right to vote, before a selection of men will join later.

Sam Gowland says Love Island contestants get couple of drinks a night

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Gowland has revealed ‘Love Island’ contestants are only allowed a “couple of drinks a night”.
The 21-year-old reality TV star joined the ITV2 show last year but despite not finding love, the hunk has now joined ‘Geordie Shore’ and he admitted he is “better suited” to getting “pissed” and having sex.
Sam told The Sun newspaper: “I got an opportunity to come on here and I thought why not.
“When I got the opportunity I thought ‘yeah it’s more my scene’ – going out. It’s paid off. They’re two different scenes. With ‘Love Island’ it’s only a couple of drinks a night, where ‘Geordie’ is more my scene. You go out, get pissed and go out and about – that’s what I did anyway so that’s what I think I’m more suited to it. That’s what I like better.”
When asked what he gets up to on the new series – which airs on January 9 on MTV – Sam said: “S**g and argue.”
He also claimed that he doesn’t get hangovers anymore because his “body is immune to it”.
Sam said: “I think I drink that much I don’t get hangovers no more. I think my body is immune to it.
“It can be mad – when you get in at daft o’clock in the morning and get up at daft o’clock you’re getting sometimes five/six hours sleep but you just power on with it.”
Back in October, Sam was reportedly lined up to join ‘Celebs Go Dating’, but it appears he won’t be needing that as he confirmed he is currently in a relationship.
He said: “[‘Love Island’] has been one of the best things I’ve done and I’ve obviously come off and now I’m seeing a girl as well.”
Sam was booted out of the villa in June with his on-screen girlfriend Georgia Harrison but their relationship didn’t last long after they split after rumours he’d cheated on her with multiple girls.

Ashley Banjo defends being judge on Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Banjo has hit back at people claiming he shouldn’t be a judge on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 29-year-old dancer – who is best known for being the leader of the dance troupe Diversity – joined the judging panel on the forthcoming series of the revamped skating show but he has been criticised for not having a background in sport.
However, speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (02.01.18), Ashley defended himself and said: “The public are really smart and the thing about the British public is they’re not going to be voting for the best ice skater but someone who is entertaining. There’s so much involved in it musicality, dance, performance that skating is only one element of it. But I do love skating, I’ve done it since I was small even though I’ve never done it professionally.”
Ashley is set to appear on the judging panel of the ITV show alongside Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and said it is “really rounded”.
He added: “As a panel it feels really rounded.”
Meanwhile, Ashley previously confessed he will laugh if any of the ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestants fall over.
When it comes to judging the hopefuls, Ashley is on the lookout for people who keep him entertained.
He added: “I’ll be the honest one. It’s great if they can nail the technical aspects but what I’m looking for is if it can entertain and affect me. I’ll either be really easy to please or really hard to please, I’m not sure which.”
Some of the contestants on the new series include the likes of ‘Coronation Street’ stars Antony Cotton and Brooke Vincent, track and field athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, rugby hunk Max Evans, Jake Quickenden, ‘Love Island’s Kem Cetinay, ‘Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, Lemar and Bucks Fizz’s Cheryl Baker.

Candice Brown fears Dancing on Ice axe after rib injury

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Brown thought she was going to get axed from ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner has been battling with sore ribs over the past few months while training for the reboot of the skating show, which will hit screens this weekend, and she has admitted there was one point she thought bosses were going to pull her from the competition because she was complaining of so many injuries.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the lipstick-loving baker said: “I think for the girls it is the ribs, I really suffered with my ribs a few weeks ago and just felt like ‘this is sore, this is sore’, and then I sneezed and I thought I was going to pass out.
“Then it was that panic that ‘they were going to drop me from the show because I’m injured’ but [skating partner] Matt [Evers] said it’s the same every year.
“It’s a really common thing as you’re being lifted and it’s your body weight and you just have to look after yourself. “I smell like a Sunday League changing room at the minute because of all the Deep Heat I’m using. I get in bed at night and [fiance] Liam’s like ‘My eyes are watering’ and I’m like ‘mine too’.”
Despite her aches and pains, the 33-year-old star is looking forward to the start of the competition – and she doesn’t even mind if she’s the first to leave the series as she’s just thrilled that she was able to take part and picked up a new skill.
She explained: “Just being able to say that I did it. That’s a big one for me. I want to raise my confidence in another area, push myself and say, ‘Yes I did that!’
“I love sport and used to enjoy taking part in so many different sports and was OK at them but I would love to have been really good at one of them so the idea of being trained properly in such an amazing skill, I’m really excited about. I do like a challenge!”

Emma Willis confirms Rachel Johnson is to enter Celebrity Big Brother house

OHMYGOSSIP — Boris Johnson’s sister Rachel has been confirmed for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
Rumours about who will be entering the famous house have been rife since the end of last year and, although fans won’t have to wait too long to find out who will be going in because it will launch tonight (02.01.17), the show’s host Emma Willis has confirmed the journalist is one of the big names confirmed to take part in the all-female series.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show this morning, she said: “There is one confirmed [her dad] was fantastic in ‘I’m A Celeb’. She’s a journalist and a writer.”
And, although the 41-year-old presenter doesn’t get a say on who will enter the abode, she is able to suggest people who she believes would make good television.
She explained: “I never get a say. I kind of run the show for the 90 minutes we’re on air and then the person in my ear is running the show really. I have zero say – but I can suggest because they say if you can think of anyone, just send us a text and let us know. They were working on housemates up until quite late because they wanted to get it 100 per cent perfect. I found out just before Christmas.”
Katie Price and Katie Hopkins – who have both taken part in the show before – were rumoured to be entering the house tonight but Emma has shot down that speculation as she has revealed that they’re all brand new contestants doing this series.
She said: “We’re not having anyone we’ve had before.”
Scott Disick – the ex-boyfriend of Kourtney Kardashian – is also believed to be taking part but Emma doesn’t think he’d do it because he doesn’t really needs the cash .
She added: “They talk about him every year – I don’t think he really needs it.”
But she would like to see Sinitta enter and is shocked she hasn’t done it before.
She explained: “She would be good. How has that never happened?”
