OHMYGOSSIP — J.K. Simmons felt slightly intimidated starring as Police Commissioner James Gordon in ‘Justice League’.
The 62-year-old actor made his first outing as the comic book character briefly in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and reprised his role last year in the DC Extended Universe superhero flick, but has admitted he didn’t let past incarnations of the character influence his interpretation.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Simmons said: “There was definitely a little bit of an intimidation factor but I wasn’t going to sit down in my living room, get out my DVDs and watch Gary Oldman.
“I obviously had a tiny little part in the first movie and I did more reading of comics and talking to friends who were comic book aficionados rather than watching or listening to the wonderful actors who have played that character in the past.”
To date, the role of Commissioner Gordon has been played by a number of actors, most notably Oldman in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy.
The character was first created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane and made his first debut back in 1939 and became an ally to vigilante Batman in Gotham City.
‘Justice League’ isn’t the first superhero movie Simmons has starred in after playing Daily Bugle newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson in all three of Sam Raimi ‘Spider-Man’ movies.
Simmons loved playing Jameson and would very much like to make a return to the character in Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man’ films which are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, he said: “I never say never. I mean, you know, obviously I had an amazing time with Sam Raimi on those movies and Tobey Maguire and everybody.
“That was a great, great time and huge for my career and my life, and just pure fun. If there were an opportunity to revisit that … I don’t know though. How old is ‘Spider-Man’ going to be if J. Jonah Jameson is this old?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothee Chalamet thanked Armie Hammer’s wife for letting him “crawl” over her husband.
The 22-year-old actor stars alongside ‘The Lone Ranger’ actor in the coming-of-age film ‘Call Me By Your Name’, and at the 29th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Tuesday (02.01.18), Chalamet won the rising star award.
At the event in California, Chalamet – who won the award alongside co-honouree Gal Gadot – thanked Hammer for his “brotherhood” but turned towards his wife Elizabeth Chambers and gave a more comical speech.
He said: “It’s truly an awesome feeling to get to be in the Rising Stars category tonight alongside Gal Gadot. Gal, your film has literally made 250 times more money than my movie has. I’m left feeling a little insecure, unqualified to be up here but it’s OK.
“Armie, it’s a lot easier to be up here because you’re one of my best buddies. Seriously I’m grateful for your big brotherhood and your guidance and friendship.
“To have someone in your position, and as talented as you are, be a mentor to me for the last two years is invaluable to me. I really mean it, man.
“And special thanks to Armie’s wife, Elizabeth Chambers, who is here tonight, as well, who is as crucial to this process as anyone.
“And for letting me crawl all over your husband for two months. Thank you for that.”
‘Call Me By Your Name’ – which is based on the novel of the same name – follows the story of a young Italian man named Elio (Chalamet) who meets Oliver (Hammer) after he visits the country to stay at his parents’ villa.
The pair then develop a passionate relationship, as they bond over their shared Jewish heritage and their sexuality.
Both actors have been nominated for a Golden Globe for their performance in the new movie by Luca Guadagnino.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt is scared her daughter will “reject” her version of Mary Poppins.
The 34-year-old actress will take on the titular role in the musical ‘Mary Poppins returns’ – a sequel to the 1964 classic which starred Julie Andrews as the magical nanny – but she’s terrified her three-year-old daughter Hazel, whom she has with her husband John Krasinski, will hate it because she’s such a fan of the original.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, she said: “I have a deep dread she is simply going to reject my version. [I’m scared she’ll] be, like, ‘You are not Mary Poppins’, because she is so in love with Julie Andrews and she knows every single song.”
Emily has enjoyed filming ‘Mary Poppins’ but has admitted she was forced to learn a “huge dance number,” which she found highly “intimidating”, and had to reshoot the scenes “55 thousand times” because she struggled to get it spot on.
She added: “There’s a huge dance number, which was slightly intimidating for me. I think I did alright. I mean we did it 55 thousand times, so I hope they got something.”
Although Emily struggled with that one element, she is glad there has been a positive response to the production.
Emily recently revealed a short teaser clip of her in the production, and she found it “very moving” to see the audience’s positive react to the remake.
She said: “The audience is so receptive and sweet and joyful, so they are the best kind of platform for you to launch a clip of your film.
“We just finished a month ago, so it’s still very real and present for me, and, you know, very new so it was very moving to see it with reacting like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie wants to “keep playing” Harley Quinn.
The 27-year-old actress was first cast in the role of the DC Comics villain during 2016’s ‘Suicide Squad’, and has said she isn’t ready to let go of the “insane character” just yet, as she’s one of the most interesting roles the beauty has been given.
She said: “Every character I’ve played doesn’t feel like … I don’t feel like myself and that’s why I like doing it. Which is why it’s so weird when people want to know about you, because you’re like ‘But wait, my whole job is not being me. Me? I don’t know, I’m boring. But these characters are amazing.’
“And Harley is one of those, you know, insane characters and people do seem to really like her so I hope that I get to keep playing her.”
Margot is set to reprise her role in ‘Suicide Squad 2’, which is due for release in 2019, and has claimed that splitting her time between a small indie project she’s working on and the big Hollywood blockbuster has shown her how “crazy” her role in the DCEU really is.
She added: “Right now I’m working on an indie film that we’re producing as well. It’s a $6 million film and I love it so much, but the idea that I get to do that and then walk onto a $100 million film set with pyrotechnics and all that crazy stuff, and have my baseball bat and just do a totally different thing is just [crazy].”
The blonde beauty also admitted she was drawn to the super villain flick because of director David Ayer, as she was obsessed with his 2012 movie ‘End of Watch’.
Speaking to Jake Gyllenhaal – who starred as Brian Taylor in the crime movie – for Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ series, Margot said: “It just occurred to me, we’ve both worked with David Ayer. ‘End of Watch’, by the way, was one of my favourite films and the reason I signed on for ‘Suicide Squad’ was because I love ‘End of Watch’ so much and I saw it about four times at the cinema.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Malika Haqq reportedly dumped her boyfriend just before she jetted to the UK.
The 34-year-old actress is believed to have split up with her partner O.T. Genasis, 30, before she flew across the pond to take part in this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ following claims on social media that her beau had “cheated” on her, the US reports.
The brunette beauty has since deleted all traces of O.T. from her social networking sites – including a photograph of the £750,000 watch he bought her for Christmas.
Malika entered the famous house last night (02.01.18) alongside seven other ladies as part of a female-only special to mark 100 year since women won the right to vote.
And, although she’s only just gone into the abode, her best friend Khloe Kardashian is desperate to watch her but is struggling to find a link because she’s in the US.

OHMYGOSSIP — Boyzone’s Shane Lynch is set to join ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ this week.
Eight famous females – including India Willoughby, Malika Haqq and Ashley James – entered the lavish pad last night (02.01.18) as part of an all-female special to mark 100 years since women won the right to vote, but they won’t be alone for long as the 40-year-old Irish hunk has agreed to join the series alongside retired footballer John Barnes – and a few others yet to be confirmed – according to The Sun Online.
It’s also believed Love Island’s Jonny Mitchell – who angered the nation when he broke Camilla Thurlow’s heart in the villa over the summer – is in discussions to join the house following his split from Stephanie Pratt in December.
He said recently: “For me it was 100 per cent real, but I’ve got no idea what it was for her. She used to talk about when we broke up rather than if. It’s a shame because I really liked her.
“I think I’ve dodged a bullet so I’m not worrying about the aftermath. There’s no way I’d ever go back. She used to talk about everyday life like it was a TV show.”
Meanwhile, the famous abode has been given a feminine makeover to mark the celebration – a stunning copper bath, which cost a whopping £4,000.

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Skelton got “scared” after she suffered a reaction to diet pills.
The 34-year-old TV presenter appeared on ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (03.01.18) to promote her new ITV2 show ‘Exercise: New Year, New Year?’, which examines fad diets and alternative exercise regimes, but she admitted she was really “surprised and scared” after popping some tablets to help her lose weight.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Helen said: “When I tried the fat-burning pills, I thought ‘I’m tough as nails, these won’t affect me’.
“We did an experiment with fat burning pills and I tried them in a controlled environment and I was really surprised and scared at the results.
“I thought I’d know how my body would react but I felt absolutely awful. It was scary.
“I couldn’t really concentrate, I was all over the place, my heart was racing and I was a bit embarrassed to admit that, I thought it wouldn’t affect me but it did.
“We have to be very, very careful because in this day and age people want a quick fix.
“The amount of people now who take fat burning pills and slimming pills is really scary and for some people that can lead on to some very serious issues and problems.”
Helen – who became a household name as a presenter on ‘Blue Peter’ – also spoke about trying different fitness trends like pole dancing to show what various exercises people do to get fit after the Christmas period.
Her new two-part special also looks at the cost on the NHS if people don’t exercise and the “quick-fixes” society will pay in order to lose weight fast.
Last year, the TV star welcomed her son Louis into the world while she was sat on the kitchen floor of her family home in Perpignan, France, on April 8.

The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who lost three stone a few years ago – could have turned to junk food following her split from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ winner late last year, but she tried to use the separation as motivation to get herself into shape because she wanted her former beau to kick himself for walking away from her.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (03.01.17), she said: “So we have broken up because things weren’t working out but I wish him the best of luck and I’m on the path of 2018 and who knows where it will take me. I think you’ve got to turn it on its head and look the best you can possibly look for revenge.”

She explained when asked what it was that made her change her diet: “It was my mum – I was at a PA in Ireland and when I came back I had three double cheese burgers and 20 chicken nuggets. I was hiding in a room eating and my mum found me and we had a huge row and we didn’t talk for ages and I thought: ‘You know what, she was just looking out for us.’ I couldn’t get up a set of stairs without getting out of breath but once I lost weight, I felt so mentally amazing, I was so energised.”

OHMYGOSSIP — India Willoughby has hinted she may have sex in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The transgender newsreader – who used to be known as Jonathan Willoughby – has admitted she’s open to the idea of finding love while doing the reality TV show but doesn’t know for sure whether she’d allow herself to romp in front of the nation.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “It would be fantastic to meet somebody in the house – who knows, romance might happen if the right man is there and the chemistry is too. Having sex on TV, I might draw the line at that, but who knows?”
And, although she’s got high hopes for the show, the 51-year-old broadcaster has had no problem finding love in the outside world but she does find that people’s opinions of her change when they learn about her past – leaving her in “love limbo.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Josie Gibson has claimed she’s been punched in the face by a “vile pig.”
The 32-year-old TV star has been left with a bruised eye after Tommy ‘Gun’ Jenkins – an amateur boxer – allegedly struck her across the face after she told him to get out of her taxi because he’d allegedly tried to sexually assault her friend Demi.
Alongside a photograph of her wound, she wrote: “Nothing makes me more angry and disturbed than a ‘man’ that thinks it’s acceptable and funny to attack women. I’m so lucky to have the platform to warn other women about men like this as I’ve now heard that we are not the only women he has done this to.
“Tommy Jenkins a boxer (apparently) and an absolute disgrace to the boxing community decided that he would continue to punch my friend Demi in the face several times when we told him to get out of our taxi for trying to sexually assault her in the back. Just because we were kind enough to give you a lift doesn’t mean to can try and do the things you were doing to her!
“I tried but couldn’t stop him as he was in the back. Then he went for my other friend next to me from the back because we were screaming for him to get out. He then punched me, but my poor friend Demi was unconscious in the back. Yes all that boxing training has come in really handy for Tommy… managed to knock a woman out… what a man…. The only thing I could do was hit him with my wedge to get him off of us. We finally got him out of our taxi and were so relieved it was the end.
“But oh no this disgrace of a man decided to open up the back of the taxi from the boot and continue to punch my friend Demi where non of us to could get in the way. I feel so bad for my friend and all she did was stop him and his vulgar sexual advances. She did nothing wrong and he would not stop punching her. I would be absolutely mortified if this was any son of mine.
“I’m so lucky to have the platform to put this vile excuse of a man out there so any woman in their right mind wouldn’t go near this pig. From what I’ve been hearing we are not the only women he’s done this too. How he can call himself a boxer makes me sick. He’s a disgrace to the boxing community. (sic)”
She then encouraged her fans to share her post so that other women are aware of his alleged behaviour and to report any incidences to the police.
She said: “Please share to all women across the country he’s a woman beater and a sexual predator and unlike the others we’re not afraid to come forward.
“If you have also been attacked by this creature can you come forward. Don’t be scared he’s a bully I know but he can’t keep getting away with it. (sic)”
It’s not known whether Josie has reported the alleged crime to the police.

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Vincent is going to “pretend she’s dead” if she falls over on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress is set to take to the rink in front of the nation this weekend for the first time and, although she’s excited but nervous, she’s already thought of some ways to cover up her blunders if she’s to slip over on the ice.
Taking to her Instagram account, she wrote: “So here is is I’ve waited 9 long months to get me to this point I’ve sat and worried,I’ve analysed everything,I’ve pictured every situation I could possibly be in I’ve made up a couple of go to dance moves JUST IN CASE I mess up Ive thought about if I fall over I’m just going to lie there and play dead(so don’t worry),I’ve over thought everything panicked,cried,got frustrated with my partner,fell over,not slept has countless amounts of bruises,wondered about the “ifs and buts” but never once thought of backing out or told myself don’t do it.. I think that’s because pretty much every single one of my family,friends,mums friends, work friends constantly tell me to go out&do the scary things,that it’s good to be nervous,that they are right behind me, that they can’t wait to watch me, that I better bloody win, every single person has gone out of their way to wish me “The Best Of luck”and that they will be watching and supporting me.. that means more to me and my family than anything.. (sic)”
The 25-year-old star – who is partnered with Matej Silecky for the show – then thanked fans for their support ahead of the launch and then asked them to vote for her using the five free votes on the app.

The 54-year-old retired footballer has been become the first male contestant confirmed to enter the all-female led house later this week after the ladies set up home in the lavish pad in last night’s (02.01.17) episode.
Rylan Clark-Neal said on ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ last night: “As you know, Friday night, the house will receive some gentlemen.
“Tonight, I can reveal that one of those very men, will be Liverpool legend and rap superstar John Barnes is going in the house!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Barrie signed up to ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ to take her mind off dying.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who was best known for playing Alma Sedgewick in the long-running soap on/off for 20 years – had no desire to do the reality TV show when she was first approached, but she decided to give it a go because she realised the money she’d earn from it would back her care home fees.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “I had no intention of doing it [Celebrity Big Brother], but then I thought it could pay for my care home.
“It would be nice to have that independence … What keeps me working? I think it’s occupational therapy to stop me thinking about death, really.”
But, although the cash lured her in, Amanda thought she’d gone “entirely mad” when she agreed to do the programme but she didn’t want to miss out on the adventure.
She explained: “I vary between thinking, ‘Have I gone entirely mad at my age?’ to, ‘Is this going to be fun?’. The thing is, when you get to 82 and someone asks you to do something, it would be foolish to say no.
“It’s a new adventure for me. I mean, what else am I going to do? I’ll just be sitting at home, so I thought I might as well have a go.”
Amanda, 82, will now have to spend up to three weeks away from her wife Hilary Bonner and has admitted she felt like she was being shipped off to a care home when she packed up her two suitcases and headed to the studio ahead of the show launch.
She said: “I did have this moment when my partner, Hilary, put me in the car with two suitcases where I thought, ‘Are you sure you’re going to ‘Big Brother’ or has she sent you packing to a care home now?’ I think ‘Big Brother’ will be good training for the care home, anyway. I may as well have a go at it now.”

The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star – who has been romantically linked to David Walliams in the past – entered the famous abode in last night’s (02.01.17) episode and, although she’s set to spend the first four days surrounded by women, she can’t wait for the men to join her because she’s on the hunt for a potential boyfriend.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “I’m taking four bikinis into the house which isn’t a large amount for me but I am planning on being in the sauna a lot.
“I’m not in perfect shape right now which is a bit nerve wracking – I enjoyed eating and drinking over the Christmas period. I am a hopeless romantic and have been looking for love for so long; I would love to have a boyfriend.
“I want to find love in the house but I would have to stop myself from having a physical romance on TV – my Nan will be watching.”
And, although bosses were no doubt hoping the 30-year-old model would spill the beans on her relationship with the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ jude, she’s adamant she won’t be commented on any of her exes because they’re no longer “relevant” to her.
She explained: “I wouldn’t comment on that. I am single now and have been for a long time. My exes are irrelevant to me.”
Ashley shot to fame on ‘Made in Chelsea’ when she started dating bisexual Ollie Locke but, although they didn’t work out romantically, she asked him for some advice ahead of ‘CBB’ because he took part in programme himself in 2014.
She explained: “Ollie and I are still friends. He said I am his favourite ex, which is good. He’s been giving me lots of tips about going on the show. He is the most amazing human – even when I first started Made in Chelsea it was such an intimidating environment. I had never given watched the show before and then suddenly I was a character on it and he really helped me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay is “still in love” with his ex-girlfriend Amber Davies.
The ‘Love Island’ winners went their separate ways just before Christmas because they were struggling to make their relationship work due to their busy schedules, but he’s adamant there’s nothing going on between him and his professional ‘Dancing on Ice’ partner Alex Murphy romantically and he’s still not over the brunette beauty.
Speaking to heat magazine, Kem said: “I’m still in love with Amber as we’ve only just split. And, anyway, Alex my partner is ten years older than me and has a boyfriend!”
Since their split, the 21-year-old hunk – who is thought to be on a booze ban while training for the skating show – has decided to stay away from the party scene because he doesn’t want to disrespect Amber by “getting with girls” in public.
He explained: “I haven’t really been out since me and Amber split up, and it ended very amicably so, out of respect for her, I don’t want to be going out partying and getting with girls. I was really upset, and I’m not a big drinker or clubbing person.”
And, although they have decided to call time on their short-lived romance for now, Kem hasn’t ruled out the possibility of rekindling things with Amber, 21, in the future.
He told the publication when asked about a reunion: “I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, but we’re having some space right now. Some people prefer having a toxic break up and cutting ties, but I’ll always care for Amber.”
Kem and Amber – who got together over the summer when they met in the ‘Love Island’ villa – announced their decision to separate in a statement in December.
They said: “With sadness, we’ve decided to separate.
“We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us. Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”
