Guillermo Del Toro left Pacific Rim 2 due to slow production

OHMYGOSSIP — Guillermo Del Toro has claimed he isn’t directing ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ because of the lengthy wait between shoots.
The 53-year-old filmmaker helmed the first movie in the fantasy series back in 2013, and was all set to work on the project’s sequel before he dropped out and was replaced by Steven S. DeKnight.
Now, Guillermo has claimed that he stepped away from the sequel after a six month wait between penning the script and shooting the movie meant that his other projects took over and he no longer had the time to dedicate to the feature.
He said: “I prepped my version of ‘Pacific Rim 2’, which was I developed the screenplay, I storyboarded and designed the creatures and the robots and all that. And then that suspension of six months, I left and helped select the new director, Steven DeKnight, and that was about it.”
Guillermo instead worked on ‘The Shape of Water’, for which he is now receiving critical acclaim, but admits he only stepped away from ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ because of a delay caused by another film taking up the studio space they were supposed to use to film the sequel.
Speaking to KCRW.com, he added: “You have a thing called a hold on the stages. When you get a hold on Pinewood Studios, they hold the stages for you. But if somebody challenges you, which, in this instance, was ‘xXx 3’ – the one with Vin Diesel. They came in and challenged us. And Legendary [Pictures] said we’re not going to challenge that, and that meant delaying the movie at least six or seven months.”
‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ is set to star John Boyega, who will play Jack, the son of Idris Elba’s leading character from the first movie, Stacker Pentecost.
The movie is scheduled for release in March this year.

Amanda Barrie claims she was asked to take Prince Charles’ virginity

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Barrie has claimed she was asked to take Prince Charles’ virginity.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star has revealed that she was asked by James Robertson Justice – a friend of Charles’ father Prince Philip – to teach the 69-year-old royal about sex while he was attending Gordonstoun School in Moray, Scotland.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, Amanda claimed James – who died in 1975 – had called the invitation an “ultimate compliment” but told her not to be “offended” by it.
She explained: “He was obviously very embarrassed and went round and round in circles before it came out. Finally, he admitted he was one of eight people who had been selected to help ‘launch the royal males into their future life’, as he put it.
“Between them, they had to choose anyone they thought would be suitable to teach Prince Charles about sex, and James had decided that I was suitable.
“He actually said: ‘We don’t really want people who are experienced but on the other hand, well, obviously they have to know the ropes. Frankly, the main thing one needs is a sense of humour and I know you have got that.
“James indicated that if things went well, I would be a kind of fixture — not a girlfriend, but someone in the background. He said: ‘They [the royals] can’t possibly go off into the world without their own person.’ It was to be a privilege as no payment was offered.”
But Amanda – who came out as gay when she was 67 and married Hilary Bonner – turned down the request because she didn’t want to be blamed for the experience.
The 82-year-old actress said: “The one thing that put me off was he suggested I take a pair of khaki shorts to go shooting. It was those that did it. I couldn’t imagine me, in my wig and false eyelashes, dressed in khaki shorts striding across the moors. I had this terrible image of having to face the Queen over breakfast. What would she say? ‘So, Amanda, how was it? I also thought that because Charles was so young, it might be a dreadful experience and I might be blamed. I had to say ‘no’.”

Sophie Kasaei went bald

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Kasaei went “completely bald” on part of her head because of her bad diet.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star has taken drastic action to overhaul her eating habits and as well as losing weight, she’s also seen some other positive effects from being more healthy.
She said: “I lost 10lbs in 10 days from just cutting the s**t out, changing my diet and taking supplements. If you just change little things, you will see the difference. I used to wake up and have Gregg’s for breakfast and then mid-morning I’d have pizza from the night before. It was absolutely disgusting. I even had traction alopecia, where the side of my head went completely bald due to stress and bad diet. It’s not rocket science. If you wanna go out with the girls, go out with the girls, but don’t start mixing beer and wine.”
The 28-year-old reality star decided she needed to lose weight after getting so upset about her appearance and the cruel comments it had sparked, she cancelled a holiday.
She said: “I was always the bigger one out of the ‘Geordie Shore’ girls and I’d just accepted it.
“It was this summer [things changed] when I cancelled a girls’ holiday because of the way I looked. Seeing photos of myself and seeing horrible comments about how fat and ugly I was – even though I’m strong-minded, that can get to you.”
And Sophie – who recently split from boyfriend Joel Corry after six years of dating – is “really proud” of her transformation.
She told heat magazine: “I feel good in myself. I’m confident enough to go out with the girls.
“People aren’t really aware that I’m single yet but when word gets around then, yeah. If you look on my Instagram, I’m taking so many more photos of myself because I’m really proud.”

Katie Price to audition for The Voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price is going to audition for ‘The Voice’ next year.
The 39-year-old former glamour model – who has tried to launch a music career numerous times – has told the nation that she’s going to try out for the singing competition in 2019 because she wants to prove that she has good vocals.
Speaking to Emma Willis – who hosts the show – on ‘Loose Women’ today (04.01.18), she said: “I’m going to do The Voice next year. I am, and I don’t care that I’m telling you. Do you know why I am? I get so much stick about my singing when I know I can sing!”
And, although the brunette beauty would like to see the judges turn around for her – meaning they want to mentor her throughout the competition – she’s adamant she’ll still continue to pump out music even if she gets rejected by the panel.
She explained: “So, if the judges do turn round for me then I can be like, ‘There you go they turned round for me’, and if they don’t… I’ll still do it.
“I am going to do it, I really want to do it. I am 100 per cent doing it.”
But, in the meantime, fans can expect a little taster of her talent as Katie has revealed she’s planning to bring out an album in the near future and may even do a dance video.
She said recently: “I’m releasing more music, I’m going to bring out an album – I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m doing it because I can and I will.
“I didn’t get many sales but I’m still doing it. I might even try and style out a music video.”
In 2005, Katie attempted to become the UK’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest by taking part in selection process show ‘Making Your Mind Up’, but she narrowly missed out, finishing second.
A year later, Katie released a duets album ‘A Whole New World’ with her then-husband Peter Andre – who she has kids Junior, 12, and Princess, 11, with – and the record sold more than 180,000 times, peaking at number 20 in the UK Charts.
The record also spawned a single of the same name which peaked at number 12 in the UK.
Katie – who also has son Jett, four, and daughter Bunny, three, with husband Kieran Hayler – released more music in 2010 with single ‘Free to Love Again’, but it only hit highs of number 60 in the UK Singles Chart.
The star released new song ‘I Got U’ last year, but that failed to set the charts alight.

Eamonn Holmes to stuff dead dog

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes wants to stuff his dog when she dies.
The ‘This Morning’ host will be devastated when his pet pooch Maggie – who he rescued seven years ago – passes away and, as a way to ensure she’s always with him, he’d be keen to get her lifeless body freeze-dried and padded out with rags and cotton.
Speaking on the brunch time show on Thursday (04.01.18), he said while speaking to man who got his dog Phoebe stuffed in the US after her death: “I have proposed for this to happen with my beautiful dog, but my wife has said no.”
His wife Ruth Langsford has thrown the idea to the curb as she finds the concept “creepy” and she doesn’t think she’d ever be able to her head around it.
She said: “I think it’s creepy and I’d think, ‘Oh there’s Maggie.’ But it wouldn’t be her.”
To which Eamonn replied: “Because you think it’s creepy, does that make me creepy?”
Ruth snapped: “Yes!”
But Eamonn, 58, thinks getting Maggie stuffed when she dies is the best way to remember her because she’s one of a kind due to her mix-breed.
He explained: “Our dog is a cross between a Border Collie and a sausage dog, and there’s a bit of Corgi in there too. She’s a rescued dog so that will never happen again because she was neutered before we rescued her so that [breeding] isn’t an option open to me so the stuffing does sound good to me.”
Meanwhile, Ruth, recently admitted that she can’t imagine her life without Maggie.
The 57-year-old presenter said: “Now I can’t imagine life without her. I always thought dog people were a bit bonkers. Now I’m the kind of person who wraps her Christmas presents and she even had her own stocking. She is part of the family.”

Dapper Laughs to join Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Dapper Laughs is set to join the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house tomorrow (05.01.18).
The controversial funnyman – whose real name Daniel O’Reilly – has reportedly signed up to the new series of the reality TV show and will be entering the abode at the end of the week alongside Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and footballer John Barnes.
A source told The Sun Online: “Dapper Laughs is going to make great TV and he’s definitely going to spice things up in the house. It’s been a pretty bland series so far so they definitely need him in there to ruffle some feathers with the ladies.”
The comedian hasn’t been in the spotlight since his show ‘On The Pull’ was axed in 2014 after more than 50,000 people signed a petition to have it removed from screens when he joked that a female audience member was “gagging for a rape”.
The 33-year-old star has since become a father to his 12-month-old Neve – whom he has with his girlfriend Shelley Rae – and now describes himself as a feminist.
Eight famous females – including India Willoughby, Malika Haqq and Ashley James – entered the lavish pad at the beginning of the week as part of an all-female special to mark 100 years since women won the right to vote, but they won’t be alone for long as eight men are expected to be joining them over the weekend to ruffle feathers.
But the men may struggle to feel at home as the famous abode has been given a feminine makeover to mark the celebration.
There are two bedrooms – each of which is named after a famous woman who campaigned for women’s votes.
The Pankhurst room is named after Emmeline Pankhurst, the leader of the British suffragette movement and the other room is called Davison after political activist Emily Davison, who died when she threw herself under King George V’s horse Anmer at the Epsom Derby in 1913.

Vic Reeves to return to Coronation Street in the future?

OHMYGOSSIP — Vic Reeves has teased there’s a chance he could return to ‘Coronation Street’ in the future.
The 58-year-old comedian – whose real name is Jim Moir – is set to bow out of the long-running soap as former newsagent chain boss Colin Callen following a short stint last year, but he has admitted he may not be gone for good as his alter ego isn’t being killed off.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “Colin’s departure isn’t final, so he could be back. I’d certainly love to return.”
And, although he was hoping to stick around for longer because he’s thoroughly enjoyed his time on the show, he could have joined the programme long before now as the executive producer Kate Oates had previously approached him about a role.
He said recently: “I do this with everything – I kind of let things simmer and linger. I’d been asked by a previous producer if I would be interested, but then Kate Oates [the current boss] came to see me on tour and left a note on my dressing room door saying: ‘Would you like to be ‘Corrie’? Give me a ring!’ I bumped into her at some TV awards and she asked again, and finally I said: ‘Yes please!’ I’d received Kate’s note and I was up for doing it but I didn’t ring because I’m a bit shy like that.”
However, for now, Vic has his hands tied up as he and his friend Bob Mortimer are writing a full series of ‘Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out’ for 2018 following the successful festive special.
He said: “We’re going to start writing a full series of ‘Big Night Out’ in January.
“We’ll spend next year on it. ‘Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out’ is pretty much like ‘Shooting Stars’ without the guests. TV audiences are a lot older now so if you do a bit of nostalgia, it’s always going to appeal to them.”
The comedy duo first worked together on ‘Vic Reeves Big Night Out’ in 1990 and have gone on to become pillars of British comedy, teaming up on other hit shows including ‘The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer’, ‘Shooting Stars’ and ‘House Of Fools’.

Malika Haqq granted immunity from Celebrity Big Brother eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Malika Haqq has been granted immunity from the forthcoming eviction on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 34-year-old actress – the best friend of Khloe Kardashian – is immune from the first public vote, which is thought to be taking place on Friday (05.01.18), on the reality TV show alongside Jess Impiazzi, Amanda Barrie and Maggie Oliver after she won an unusual axe-throwing task.
The challenge, which was aired on ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ last night (03.01.18), saw Malika go head-to-head with Ann Widdecombe, Rachel Johnson, India Willoughby and Ashley James as they hurled an axe at a red and white dart board in a bid to win immunity.
Malika was then announced as the winner of the task, meaning Ann, Rachel, India and Ashley will be facing the public vote at the end of the week – unless more free passes are dished out tonight.
Prior to entering the house, the brunette beauty reportedly dumped her boyfriend O.T. Genasis, 30, following claims on social media that her beau had “cheated” on her.
She has since deleted all traces of O.T. from her social networking sites – including a photograph of the £750,000 watch he bought her for Christmas.
Malika was reportedly offered a mega-money deal to take part in the all-female special, which marks 100 years since women won the right to vote, as bosses are hoping she’ll spill the beans on the Kardashians.
And it seems Khloe – who is currently six months pregnant – is keen to keep up with Malika’s antics in the house as she has asked her fans to send her links to the show so that she can watch it in the US.
She wrote on Twitter: “I am so happy for @ForeverMalika being on CBB but I hate that I can’t watch. I have to know what’s going on in there!! Is she ok? I’m trying to find links! Can anyone help me? (sic)”

Sam Bailey knocked out by a ladder

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Bailey was rushed to hospital this week after she was knocked out by a ladder.
The former ‘X Factor’ winner was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary via ambulance on Tuesday (02.01.18) after she was thrown to the floor when the climbing apparatus fell from the loft hatch and smashed her on the head – knocking her out “cold for an hour.”
The 40-year-old singer’s agent Victoria Tyson, said in a statement: “Sam had got a suitcase out for her daughter Brooke who is going on a skiing trip.
“The ladder sprang back and hit her and she was knocked out cold. Her husband Craig was there and called the ambulance but Sam was on the floor for about an hour.”
The brunette star spent the rest of the day in hospital being monitored by medical staff before being given the all-clear in the early evening and being discharged.
Although it was no doubt a frightening time for Sam and her family, the former prison officer saw the funny side as she took to her Instagram account afterwards to share a photograph of her in a neck brace on a stretcher waiting to have a CT scan.
She tweeted: “So this was me tonight! Unconscious! Ct scan and after finding out my skull is in still intact I’ve decided im not going to go In the loft again! (sic)”
The incident has meant that Sam has had to pull out of the pantomime production of ‘Beauty & The Beast’ – in which she plays Enchantress – in order to recover.
The pantomime tweeted: “Unfortunately, @SamBaileyREAL is unable to perform in today’s shows of #BeautyBeastLeicester #LeicesterPanto. Her part of the Enchantress in these performances will again be played by Mae Grocock. (sic)”
And, although she’s on the “mend”, she’s still suffering with dizzy spells and headaches.
She wrote :”Due to the fact I’m having dizzy spells and having headaches, my wonderful hairdresser @MalcMurphyHair came to me!!! Thankyou soooo much!! Love you!!! #stayawayfromloftdoors (sic)”.

Binky Felstead has ‘first mummy meltdown’ locking daughter inside house

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead will never put her bins out again after she accidentally locked her baby daughter inside their house.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star left her six-month-old girl in her bouncer whilst she quickly rushed outside to do the job, which India’s father Joshua ‘JP’ Patterson was meant to do before going off to the gym, only to find herself unable to get back into the property in Chelsea, London.
The 27-year-old beauty documented her “first mummy meltdown” on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (03.01.18), and shared how she ended up left with bleeding feet after cutting them walking to her mother Jane’s house, which is a few doors away, to get a spare key.
Thankfully, little India was “safe” and sound in her chair the whole time.
In a series of Instagram Story videos, Binky shared: “My first mummy meltdown just happened.
“I was doing the bins, which is supposed to be Josh’s job, but he’s typically gone to the gym.
“I heard the door slam behind me and I was locked out with no keys, no phone and no shoes.
“India was in here on her own – luckily in her bouncer – so she was quite safe.
“I had to run to my mum’s [house] as fast as I could to get the key.
Showing her sore feet, she said: “My feet are cut to pieces, everyone thought I looked like a mad woman.”
The ‘Born in Chelsea’ star is going to let her partner do the chore in the future, to avoid any further mishaps.
She concluded: “Luckily all was OK. So basically I’m never doing the bins again.”
It comes after Binky admitted she has found living with her beau more of a “shock” than having a baby.
The pair reconciled during her pregnancy and though she feels “lucky” to have him around for her and India, she admitted the 28-year-old hunk has some bad habits.
Asked if a proposal could be on the cards, she said recently: “We’re not thinking about that. I’m just getting used to him living with me!
“He’s really messy. Living with him was more of a shock than having a baby.
“But he’s a great father and I’m lucky to have him.”

Olly Murs praises The Voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs has praised ‘The Voice’ as an “incredible show”, despite starting out on rival show ‘The X Factor’.
The 33-year-old singer is set to take a seat on the judging panel when the new series of the ITV singing competition airs this Saturday (06.01.18), and although Olly began his career on rival show ‘The X Factor’ in 2009, he doesn’t feel as though he’s being disloyal by switching shows.
Olly – who also previously hosted one series of ‘The X Factor’ alongside Caroline Flack in 2015 – said: “You make your own decisions in life. Ever since I left ‘The X Factor’ I’ve always made my own decisions, as much as Simon – and other people – have been there to help me throughout me career, when ‘The Voice’ came calling it was just, ‘Yeah, I wanna do this,’ because I just think it’s an incredible show.”
But the ‘Troublemaker’ singer thinks his decision to join ‘The Voice’ team might have caused a rift between himself and ‘X Factor’ show runner Simon Cowell, as the entertainment mogul hasn’t contacted him in a while.
He added: “I haven’t heard from Simon [recently]. Like I’ve said before Simon has my number, he knows how to contact me. It would be nice if he gave me a shout, but he won’t. I saw Simon recently at the ITV Gala, and he was like, ‘Ollie, darling! How are you?’ but you know that’s Simon. And you know, he’s going to watch the show – and he ain’t going to be happy!”
The ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ hitmaker also claims Simon hasn’t given him any warm wishes for his judging debut.
When asked at the launch for the programme if he had sought Simon’s approval before appearing on the show, and if Simon had wished him well, Olly said: “I’m just going to say no, and no.”

Patty Jenkins says Wonder Woman 2 will be totally different

OHMYGOSSIP — Patty Jenkins said ‘Wonder Woman 2’ will be “totally different” from the first movie.
The 46-year-old filmmaker helmed the hit blockbuster – which stars actress Gal Gadot as the titular superhero – last year and following months of negotiations, Patty now committed herself to the ‘Wonder Woman’ follow up, but has teased it’s going to be so different it won’t even feel like a sequel.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Jenkins said: “We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us. It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier [to do].”
The first film saw Gadot take on the titular role – after debuting in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ – and featured Wonder Woman taking on the German army in World War I alongside American spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine).
The Wonder Woman character was created by American psychologist William Moulton Marston and artist Harry G. Perry and first appeared in comic book pages in 1941.
Although Jenkins is excited to show Wonder Woman to a brand new audience, she teased she would like to incorporate TV star Lynda Carter – who played the superhero on TV from 1975 to 1979 – in the sequel.
Jenkins said: “We’ll see. Lynda is one of the dearest people to us, has been a great mentor and dear friend. And we actually desperately tried to get her in the first one and we had the scheduling that couldn’t work, so she’s always been a part of our ‘Wonder Woman’ family.
“We won’t say anything yet, but we certainly – there’s no lack of trying.”
Jenkins is set to earn around $8 million to write, direct and produce the much-anticipated film, which will make her the highest paid female director of all time.

Gary Oldman learned about Winston Churchill after sitting in his chair

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Oldman learned about Winston Churchill’s “psychology” after sitting in the heroic British Prime Minister’s chair.
The 59-year-old actor stars as the UK’s World War II leader in new movie ‘The Darkest Hour’ – helmed by Joe Wright – and while preparing for the role, he was able to sit in Churchill’s seat in the Cabinet Room and he is convinced he wouldn’t have discovered certain things about his character if he never got to experience Churchill’s surroundings.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph newspaper, Oldman said: “There were deep scratches on the left where he had been doing this.
“And on the right hand side were all the scratches where he’d tap his ring. And that behaviour is now a living thing in that piece of furniture.
“That tells you so much about the psychology of an individual. And I wouldn’t have discovered it if I hadn’t sat down.”
‘The Darkest Hour’ tells the story at the beginning of World War II as within days of becoming Prime Minister, Churchill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany which could guarantee Britain’s independence and that of the Commonwealth.
As the Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion of the UK, Churchill must resist attempts to by his own political party and an initially sceptical King George VI, to stand firm against the dangers facing his country and not buckle to the Nazis.
Oldman – who has been nominated for the Best Actor Golden Globe for his performance – stars alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James and Ben Mendelsohn in ‘The Darkest Hour’.
Although starring as the iconic Prime Minister already, Oldman also said he would love to portray Churchill again.
He said: “I’m still reading about him and will continue to read about him until my last breath, I think.”

Annette Bening dubs Barbara Broccoli remarkable

OHMYGOSSIP — Annette Bening has praised Barbara Broccoli as a “quite remarkable” woman.
The 59-year-old Academy Award nominee stars as real life actress Gloria Grahame in the romance ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’, and although admitting she felt nervous, Bening had nothing but praise for the James Bond producer.
Speaking to Collider, Bening said: “There’s always a nervousness factor when I work on anything, but not in relation to this producer because she’s quite remarkable. She’s just got the biggest heart and she’s incredibly well organised. She inherited the Bond franchise, and she produces those films, so she has evolved into this absolutely extraordinary woman.
“She’s just a fine human being, as well as being a great pro. I felt a great responsibility. All of us who were on this and who put ourselves into it felt a great responsibility to make this work and to make the things that we wanted to do happen, in a way that was real and believable and, at the same time, not sentimental.”
Bening stars alongside Jamie Bell, who plays real life unknown actor Peter Turner, who meets the actress in 1978 and the two start a vibrant love affair despite their age difference.
Although the film is based off Turner’s own memoirs, Bening revealed she felt a “great responsibility” to Gloria’s family as some of the scenes were made up.
She said: “This all did happen, or most of it did. There are a few scenes in the movie that we made up. So, I did feel a great responsibility to her family, as well. Even though we did not contact her family and I wanted to respect their privacy completely, her son Tim, who’s in the film briefly at the end, saw it when we were in London and he liked it very much.
“That meant the world to me. That was really, really, exciting. I wanted to just meet him and talk to him and ask him about 10 billion questions, but it wasn’t the time.
“I hope that another time, I can spend time with him and just ask him what their lives were like.”

Christian Bale keen for Star Wars role

OHMYGOSSIP — Christian Bale wants a role in a ‘Star Wars’ movie.
The 43-year-old actor – who is most famous for portraying Batman in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy – has spilled that he was in talks to star in the upcoming spin-off movie ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ after being contacted by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, whom he worked with previously on Steven Spielberg’s 1987 coming-of-age war film ‘Empire of the Sun’.
Although he didn’t take up a role in the Han Solo-focused prequel, Bale is keen to be part of the sci-fi saga going forward because he is a huge fan of the franchise as are his family, wife Sibi Blazic, daughter Emmaline and son Joseph.
Discussing his ‘Solo’ offer on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused, Bale said: “Yes, [it was] very tempting. I not only love the films going back to my childhood but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did ‘Empire of the Sun’ many years back. There was discussion, [and] I hope there will be future discussions.
“‘Star Wars’ I’m a huge fan. Yeah ‘Star Wars’ really interests me. I’ve still got the Millennium Falcon, I’ve got the AT-AT. My daughter, her first love was Darth Vader. She absolutely adored Darth Maul. [She] stood near him at Disneyland and he growled and he’s got those teeth and he stayed in character, really wonderful performance, and she was teeny and I thought, ‘This is gonna scare the crap out of her, this is such a bad idea.’ And then she stopped and she said, ‘Daddy, I’m in love.’ ”
Bale received universal acclaim for his portrayal of Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter ego Batman in his three films but despite becoming a global icon due to his appearance as the DC Comics character he admits he’s not a fan of superhero films.
And the British star has not watched his successor Ben Affleck as The Caped Crusader in the DC Extended Universe.
He said: “I have not seen [Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested but then I realised he just wanted to see the trailer. I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the ‘Avengers’ films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.”
