Gary Barlow is working on new talent show

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow is reportedly working on a new talent show.
The Take That frontman hasn’t been seen on screens since his series ‘Let It Shine’ wrapped up last year but, although the singing competition hasn’t been recommissioned for 2018, bosses at the BBC have asked the hunk to come up with a new format that will rival Simon Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The BBC see Gary as their weapon to really dent the shows Simon Cowell producers.
“During and after ‘Let it Shine’ they were constantly asking if has any other new concepts which could work. The show ideas they are floating will see Gary working with new talent and imparting his extensive knowledge of the showbiz industry.”
Although the BBC decided not to bring back ‘Let It Shine’, which saw five young lads – Nick Carsberg, A.J Bentley, Curtis T. Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Watanabe -Solomon – form a new boyband called Five to Five, they have admitted that the “door is always open” for another run in the future.
A source said at the time: “The show was a huge success in many ways but the concept for a second series just wasn’t quite there yet. The first series was a project that had been worked on for years before coming to fruition.”
‘Let It Shine’ raked in 6.8million viewers on launch night but the numbers dwindled and Gary’s former bandmate Robbie Williams even pulled out of his guest judge spot.
However, Gary hasn’t given up on his passion project and is keen for it to return.
The insider said at the time: “Gary in particular wants to make sure that if it does come back, proper time, effort and ideas have gone into it. There’s a danger of undoing the good work done this year by rushing into another series.
“No one wanted that so they’ve decided to leave it for now.”

Alesha Dixon wants to make meat illegal

OHMYGOSSIP — Alesha Dixon wants to make it illegal to eat meat.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge – who is a pescatarian – would shut down every slaughterhouse in the UK and impose a ban on eating animal flesh if she ran the country.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, she said: “I’d make smoking illegal and I’d ban the slaughter of animals for food or anything. So I’d close down every factory responsible for either and make it illegal to smoke or eat meat. Everyone would be fine, trust me!”
The 39-year-old singer eliminated meat from her diet six years ago because she loves animals but she’s struggled to go vegan because she still really enjoys dairy.
She said recently: “I listen to what my body wants. I gave up meat for many reasons, but mainly my love of animals. My mum is vegan and I think she’s had a big influence on me over the years. I guess she finally cracked me. I’ve made other changes, too. I don’t drink cows’ milk any more and have almond milk instead. I feel great for it!”
Alesha took part in an undercover mission this time last year to expose the cruelty that animals go through at entertainment venues in Thailand and she admitted at the time that she felt “ashamed to be a human being” and wants to stop tourists from funding abuse.
She explained at the time: “I feel ashamed to be a human being. I know from research that there is no humane or kind way to train an elephant and for these shows there has been intense training, and the elephants would have suffered severely. I’m highlighting this cruelty so tourists stop going and this abuse ends…
“People need to know that behind the scenes these beautiful animals are kept in tiny little pens, have no freedom and are abused for our entertainment. People want to be close to them because they are so beautiful. I would rather stand back and admire them from afar in the wild where they belong. I’m sure when people realise the hidden cruelty, they will too.”

Shirley Ballas is lined up for Loose Women panel

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas is reportedly being lined up for a regular position on ‘Loose Women’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is set to make her guest panellist appearance on the chat show on Wednesday (10.01.18) after she proved a huge hit with viewers in November when she was invited to discuss her role on the ballroom and latin show.
And, although they don’t yet know how she’ll do as a panellist, bosses are already thinking about giving her a regular slot alongside Andrea McLean, Katie Price, Ruth Langsford, Nadia Sawalha, Kaye Adams, Christine Lampard and Lisa Riley.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “No one really knew Shirley in the UK before she joined ‘Strictly…’ but she has won a place in the nation’s heart.
“She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and has led a really interesting life that people know very little about. If she enjoys her time on the programme, bosses are really keen for her to return on a regular basis.”
Meanwhile, the 57-year-old legendary dancer received mixed reviews when she claimed the head judge position on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year – taking over from fan favourite Len Goodman – and, although she’d love to reclaim her seat this year, she doesn’t know if bosses will want her back because of the backlash she initially got.
She said: I’ve had the most spectacular time. There have been some things to get used to like Twitter and the press. But generally I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being on the show. As of yet, nothing has been decided. So we will wait and see…
“I’m quite a perfectionist. When I first came on and I had to judge the first show, it was terrifying. I take my job extremely seriously. You are totally under scrutiny. I go from week to week. I’m married to what I do. I think I did pretty good. I would probably give myself ‘seven’. In anything you do there is room for improvement.”

Amber Davies thinks Kem Cetinay is dating Scarlett Moffatt

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Davies is convinced there is “something going on” between Kem Cetinay and Scarlett Moffatt.
The ‘Love Island’ beauty has sparked speculation that her ex-boyfriend – whom she split with over the festive period – is secretly dating the former ‘Gogglebox’ star after the brunette beauty was seen sitting in the audience supporting Kem during his ‘Dancing on Ice’ debut last night (07.01.18).
A fan – who goes by the handle Olivia Mulhearn – took to her Twitter account to give her opinion, writing: “Definitely something going on between Kem and Scarlett Moffatt #DancingOnIce (sic).”
Amber, 21, then retweeted Olivia’s tweet and wrote: “You said it,” followed by a cheeky tongue emoji.
The dancer later added: “I’m only human after all….. everyone deserves to be happy. (sic)”
However, Kem was keen to pour cold water on the rumours by admitting that he and Scarlett, 27, are “good mates” but they won’t date because she “doesn’t do Essex boys.”
He wrote: “Thanks to my good mate @ScarlettMoffatt coming to support with Chris and my fam tonight, sorry guys just mates she don’t do essex boys (sic)”
Kem and Amber were together for four months after they met and fell for one another on ‘Love Island’ but their romance was short-lived as a series of rows led to their split a few weeks ago.
Kem said recently: “Like in any relationship, there were triggers and things happened and I started to notice things. Of course we rowed and bickered. But it was a mutual decision and we sat down together and in the end we split to see how we feel.”
And while Kem is pouring his attention into ‘Dancing on Ice’, Amber is focusing on her health.
She said: “I’ve been spending a lot of time with my girls since Kem and I broke up. Being with them stops me over-thinking things… Liv’s said we can party to distract me but I don’t want to deal with the split that way. I’d rather train or go home to see my family… My way of getting over a break-up is working out. IT takes my mind off things and releases emotional stress.”

Joe McFadden still waiting for job offers

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe McFadden is still unemployed since winning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 42-year-old actor’s character in BBC medical drama ‘Holby City’ was killed off before Christmas and the star was hoping after the holiday break the offers would start to pour in.
Joe is quoted by The Sun Online as saying: “There haven’t been any job offers.
“There have been some discussions but there is nothing solid at all so I really don’t know what I’m going to do.
“I know there was a lot of talk about what might happen but because of everyone being off over Christmas and New Year, nothing has come about.”
The former ‘Holby’ star and his professional partner Katya Jones beat celebrity rivals Debbie McGee, Alexandra Burke and Gemma Atkinson to bag the Glitterball Trophy in the grand final of the dance contest in December, watched by 13 million viewers.
During his time on the show, Joe quit his role in the hospital drama as surgeon Raf di Lucca, who he had played since 2014. Fans were left shocked when Raf was dramatically shot dead by Fredrik Johanssen (Billy Postlethwaite).
After his success on the dancefloor, Joe is hoping to land a role in a West End musical.
He said: “I think that now people have seen me dance it would be a shame not to go ahead and do that again.
“Having just come off the biggest show on television, I want to make the right decision.
“And having done four years on Holby I don’t necessarily want a long-term thing.
“But as an actor you never know where your next job will come along so I’ll just have to see.”
In the meantime, the Scottish actor is going to be busy with the ‘Strictly Live Tour’, performing with Katya to audiences around the UK.
Joe said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing everybody and dancing again. The Glasgow shows are the ones I’m looking forward to most, getting out in front of my hometown crowd.”

Piers Morgan returns to GMB with sick bucket

OHMYGOSSIP — Piers Morgan has returned to work on ‘Good Morning Britain’ with a bucket under his desk after he was struck with gastroenteritis.
The 52-year-old TV presenter has been ill for the last three days and while he was still suffering from the condition, which is also known as infectious diarrhoea, on air today (08.01.18), he admitted it was “great” to reunite with co-host Susanna Reid after the festive break.
He wrote on Twitter: “England stuffed 4-0 in the Ashes…Arsenal humiliated in the FA Cup… and my gastroenteritis still raging… it’s enough to make a man [ill emoji] – but hey, it’s great to be back at work. Happy Monday everyone! @GMB @susannareid100 (sic)”
Piers opted to play it safe by keeping the bucket by his side just in case he needed to vomit during the live news programme.
He said: “We have this [bucket] just in case and believe me, it might be needed.
“It’s just a miserable day all round … If you stand for manning up, you have to man up.”
Piers tweeted Susanna on Sunday evening to ask her to bring a bucket for him because he was still suffering from “stomach-related issues”.
He wrote: “So, 16 hours before I’m due back on @GMB & I have a raging fever & rather acute.. ahem… ‘stomach-related issues’. Could make for some rather interesting live TV. Can you bring a bucket @susannareid100? (sic)”
One fan pleaded with Piers not to call in sick to ‘GMB’, and he insisted that would not be the case.
He wrote: “I don’t do sickies, John – relax. #ManningUp (sic)”
Last week, Caitlyn Jenner called out Piers for being “disrespectful” to the trans community during her interview on his TV show ‘Life Stories’.
During the Q&A session, Piers presented Caitlyn with an old doll of her as Olympic gold medallist athlete Bruce Jenner which was released in the wake of his 1976 decathlon victory at the Montreal Olympic Games.
Piers then asked: “How does your physique compare now. Obviously certain areas?”
Caitlyn replied: “See you made a comment there and that is why you would get in trouble. OK? You just said, ‘Certain areas?’ That to a trans person is disrespectful. It is not funny. It is life. It is a very serious part of my life. I take that very seriously and so out of respect to myself and the community it is not something that you joke about. It is something as I said before … this is serious. You can die over this issue. It is not a joke.”

Candice Brown in the skate off as Dancing On Ice returns

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Brown found herself in the skate off as ‘Dancing On Ice’ returned to television screens.
The ice skating show has been off air for four years but made a stellar return to ITV on Sunday night (07.01.18) with performances from six of the 12 celebrities.
Unfortunately for ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner Candice and her skating partner Matt Evers, she found herself at the bottom of the leaderboard with just 13 points out of a possible 40.
Asked what she’ll be working on this week ahead of the skate off next Sunday, Candice told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “Just everything the judges said, the extensions, my hands and trying to relax with it – everything we work on every day. I was nervous, it was the first time I’ve done anything like that. This week, I’m going to do it.”
Antony Cotton was the first onto the ice with a tropical-themed dance and was “thrilled” with his 15.5 points.
He shared: “I’m thrilled with that! I didn’t die and I didn’t kill Brandee! It’s been the most incredible journey! The first person I ever told about this show was Gaz, and he died last year, and his wife is here. So that one was for you, Gaz.”
And ‘X Factor’ star Jake Quickenden wowed the judges, scoring 20.5 points. Ashley Banjo described his performance as “unexpected” and said he “looked at home on the ice”.
However, the biggest surprise of the night was ‘Love Island’s Kem Cetinay, who joint topped the leaderboard alongside Jake with his energetic skate to ‘Shut Up and Dance’.
Jayne Torvill told them she “was really impressed” and Christopher Dean joked about the couple having “Kem-istry”.
He added, “You just go and take it on. That was just a little bit, leave it,” referencing Kem’s song with his fellow ‘Love Island’ star Chris Hughes.
Perri Shakes-Drayton also impressed with 20 points out of a possible 40 and even Jason Gardiner had praise for Perri and Hamish Gaman.
He told them: “You had such intensity. I love this partnership. Hamish, hats off to you, the best routine so far. You are a natural.”
Olympic ice skating champions Torvill and Dean returned to the show, but in a new role this time, as judges, alongside Diversity star Ashley Banjo and returning judge Jason Gardiner.
‘Dancing On Ice’ continues next Sunday (14.01.18).

Steven Spielberg not worried about box office success

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Spielberg doesn’t care if ‘The Post’ is a box office flop.
The 71-year-old director insists he has already done his job in making the movie – which follows the Washington Post defying threats from then-President Richard Nixon to publish the Pentagon Papers stories in 1971 – and regardless of how it performs, he thinks the film will stand the test of time.
Asked how he’d feel if the movie flops, he said: “It’s not about the audience, it’s about the process of getting the story told on film. It’s not about how it will be received. Once I finish the film, I’ve done what I had to do. If it flopped at the box office, I would feel that it would still be relevant 20 years from now.”
And Spielberg hopes the movie – which stars Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep – will inspire audiences to watch ‘All the President’s Men’, Alan J. Pakula’s 1976 movie about the Watergate scandal which was exposed by the Washington Post and led to Nixon’s downfall.
He said: “It’s one of my favourite political pictures. If The Post would inspire people to watch it, it would make me happy.”
The acclaimed director describes ‘The Post’ as his first political thriller and he likes trying new genres because he gets his best ideas when he’s feeling uncertain.
He told the Sunday Times’ Culture magazine:I ” get better ideas when I am standing on my heels, not on the flat of my soles. It’s because I don’t want to fall, and I need to regain my balance… When I get into a genre I’ve never done before, it’s scary but healthy.”

Adam Driver left country for Daisy Ridley scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Driver flew to a different country to be away from Daisy Ridley for their Force Connection scenes in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
The latest movie in the sci-fi saga saw the two stars’ adversarial characters, Kylo Ren and Rey, forge a telepathic-type connection in which they can inexplicably see and speak to one another despite being millions of miles away, and the pair went to great lengths to make the scenes as believable as possible.
Director Rian Johnson told People: “For those force connections, I needed them to talk.
“And I thought that the hardest thing that Rey could possibly be faced with is being forced to talk to this person that she completely despises. And also the audience, we hate him coming into it. She had to be our proxy and so that’s why in those first few conversations, she is just spitting in his face.
“Every single time we shot one of their sides, the other person was off camera.
“Even to the point where Adam flew to Ireland just to be off camera for Daisy’s stuff, which was essential because they’re such intimate conversations.”
The scenes required extensive rehearsal time because they had to be shot twice.
Rhian added: “That also meant we had to shoot each of those scenes twice basically, which meant the rehearsal time was really important. And my editor Bob Ducsay did an amazing job then of making it feel kind of seamless after the fact.”
The 44-year-old filmmaker is “really, really excited” to see where the rest of the franchise takes the characters.
He said: “”Well I’ll say the two characters and how they [interact], like in ‘The Force Awakens’, the interrogation scene, that was one of the most intriguing scenes to me both on the page and when I saw the scene that J.J. [Abrams] created.
“So I think he set up this very interesting dynamic. And then to get to play with it in this movie and now, to get to hand it back to J.J. and see how it gets resolved, I’m really, really excited to see what happens.”

Michelle Williams wants Christopher Plummer to sing

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Williams wanted Christopher Plummer to sing for her daughter.
The 37-year-old actress – who has 12-year-old Matilda with late former partner Heath Ledger – was a huge fan of ‘The Sound of Music’ when she was growing up so she was overjoyed when its star was cast to replace disgraced actor Kevin Spacey in her new movie ‘All the Money in the World’.
Asked her first favourite film, she told W magazine: “‘The Sound of Music’. It was very influential. And I got to meet Captain von Trapp (Plummer) while filming ‘All the Money in the World’.
“We were about to be in this movie together, and I thought, How soon is too soon to ask Christopher Plummer to sing ‘Edelweiss’ into my phone for my daughter?”
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star also revealed years of auditioning has left her with a special talent – being able to take her clothes off quickly and discreetly.
She said: “I had multiple outfits. Much like a costume box. I would change between auditions. I remember changing in the car on the freeway.
“I’m still a fast changer. And discreet. I have a talent for taking my clothes off quickly.”
It was recently revealed Michelle and Mark Wahlberg reshot their scenes for the movie for free after Christopher was cast, and the actress, who plays Gail Harris, the mother of kidnap victim John Paul Getty III – whose oil baron grandfather refused to pay a $10 million ransom for his release – in the movie, was only happy to do so because she’d been concerned the project would be “flushed down the toilet” following the accusations against Spacey.
She said: “I just thought that this experience that we had all treasured was going to be essentially flushed down the toilet.
“I adore (Ridley Scott, director), worship him, would do anything for him.
“I hated that this man’s time and expertise and gentlemanly-ness was going to be kind of for naught. So when I got the phone call about the change of plans I was thrilled. I was enlivened, it picked me up off the couch a little bit and got me excited.
“I said I’d be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me. And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort.”
And Michelle, was happy to get the chance to work with Christopher because she was a big “fan” of the veteran actor.
She told E! News: “I was excited. I have been a fan of his obviously for ages so I was thrilled to work with him and thrilled he was going to contribute to a happier ending on our story.”

Dwayne Johnson reaches out to Davina McCall

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has promised to “look out” for Davina McCall on Twitter.
The fitness-conscious TV star – who split from husband Matthew Robertson in November – recently revealed she’s been tweeting the wrestler-turned-actor because she admires his “hardworking” attitude and “positive energy”, and now the ‘Baywatch’ star has reached out to offer her support.
He said: “It’s amazing to have somebody saying such complimentary things about you — I will keep a look out for her on Twitter for sure.
“Davina seems like she has a lot of positive energy herself, because saying nice things about others is a big sign that you are confident in yourself.
“She is going through a difficult time at the moment, so my advice to her is to just keep on going.
“I’ve been there, I have been in a dark place, and if there’s one thing she needs it is to talk things out, because nobody should be suffering in silence.
“Talking it through and not going through it alone is half the battle won.”
But Dwayne – whose partner Lauren Hashian is pregnant with their second child, a sibling for two-year-old Jasmine and half-sibling for his 16-year-old daughter Simone – laughed off Davina’s comments she wants to marry him.
He added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I am not so sure I can help on the marriage front — but it sounds like she is talking some really positive steps.
“And when you are happy within yourself, everything else has a habit of falling into place.”
But the ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ star encouraged the former ‘Big Brother’ presenter to keep up with her regular workouts to cope with her heartbreak.
He said: “Is working out good medicine? Absolutely. The thing with getting in shape is it takes real focus.
“While you are focusing on that you are essentially training you brain from getting away from any current problems to getting into shape — and your brain does it without even knowing.
“I have had some real intense workout regimes over the last few years and it pretty much takes up most of your time and thoughts.”
Davina – who has kids Holly, 16, Tilly, 14 and Chester, 11, with Matthew – admitted recently she’s desperate to meet the WWE legend.
She said: “I think Dwayne Johnson is hardworking, gives more than is expected, funny … I want to meet him. I’m literally sending him messages all the time, I’m thinking, ‘persist, persist!’
“He’s so big, I’d have to climb up his thigh. I just think he’s a really nice guy, great, positive energy.”

Leah Bracknell secretly wed

OHMYGOSSIP — Leah Bracknell has quietly married her partner.
The 54-year-old actress – who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in September 2016 – tied the knot with Jez Hughes, 44, in an intimate ceremony in Horsham, Sussex, in March last year after discovering her treatment had stopped working, the Sunday Mirror newspaper has revealed.
The ceremony took place in the drawing room at Park House, a grade II listed Georgian building.
Meanwhile, the former ‘Emmerdale’ actress recently admitted she wakes up “excited” every day because she is so happy to still be alive.
She said: “I wake up every day excited. I didn’t do that before the cancer.
“I’m just really glad to be here. I wasn’t expected to live that long, so I am just going to carry on, gloriously living, no matter what the doctors are saying.
“I could have died but I was still alive – that was a gift. I had to time to tell my family how much I love them and decide how I wanted to live.”
And last February, Leah admitted she planned to look on the bright side rather than dwell on the “negative stuff”.
She said: “I’m going to choose to embrace life and going to choose to make positive decisions. I haven’t got the energy to react to negative stuff.”
The actress previously revealed telling her grown-up daughters, Lily and Maya – who she has from a past relationship – was the hardest thing about her diagnosis.
She said: “Any mother will know how I felt. It’s the worst thing you can imagine having to tell those closest to you, something like this … trying to find the words. It’s the worst thing I’ve had to do.
“I think it’s almost worse for those close to you because they’re trying to look after and protect the person who’s poorly, not just physically, but emotionally.”

Vicky Pattison to join Australian I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison is set to take part in Australia’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 30-year-old reality star – who won the UK version of the jungle endurance contest in 2015 – will reportedly fly out to South Africa at the end of the month to be on the show as producers Down Under think she’d be a “brilliant” addition to their camp.
A source said: “The Australian version is really popular with viewers. Producers saw her on the UK show and loved her.
“They’ve never asked a contestant from the UK series before but they couldn’t resist asking her to take part because they think she’ll be brilliant.”
And the former ‘Geordie Shore’ star, who will reportedly be paid £250,000 for spending up to four weeks in Kruger National Park, is excited about the new opportunities the show will open up for her.
The source told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “This is a very big deal. It will give her the chance to reach a whole new audience and prove she can be a hit outside of the UK.”
Vicky won’t be the first British star to take part in the Australian show as former cricketer Freddie Flintoff won the first series in 2015.
Vicky recently admitted she thinks herself and fellow Queens of the Jungle, Scarlett Moffatt and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo were at an unfair advantage on ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ because of their reality TV backgrounds.
She said: “It’s no coincidence me, Scarlett Moffatt and Toff, who all make our living being ourselves on TV, have won.
“Hand on heart, I do think it’s an unfair advantage. We are used to reality TV and having cameras on us all the time. These sports stars, or former pop stars, are great but they lack the level of self-promotion we have. I’m not taking anything away from anyone because I think Scarlett and Toff deserved to win, and hopefully I did too. But what I will say is our reality TV backgrounds have stood us in good stead.”

Margot Robbie’s Katharine Hepburn comparison

OHMYGOSSIP — Allison Janney has compared Margot Robbie to Katharine Hepburn.
The 58-year-old actress says her 27-year-old ‘I, Tonya’ co-star – who also produced the movie – reminds her of the iconic actress because neither of them wanted to be typecast as “the beautiful young thing”.
She explained to The Hollywood Reporter: “I just kept thinking of Katharine Hepburn when I looked at her. Katharine put together ‘The Philadelphia Story’ because she wasn’t getting the parts that she wanted, and that’s what Margot did. She was going to be typecast as this beautiful young thing, and she wanted to find interesting roles for herself and for other women, so she took the bull by the horns and she formed this company.”
Margot admitted that after her big Hollywood breakthrough as the beautiful wife of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort in the 2013 movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, she was only offered roles of “hot wife”.
She said: “You could read a script and almost pull them out and nothing else would be affected. Like if you pulled out that card, the card castle wouldn’t come tumbling down, and that’s not that exciting to me.
“I knew I needed to adjust people’s perception of me right then, because otherwise I was just going to be given [this one kind of thing].”
Margo produced ‘I, Tonya’ through her own Lucky Chap company and she just wants to be in control of her own career.
She said: “I’ve spent the past 10 years of my life on sets, and after a while, it’s like, ‘I want to have a say when I read a script that I really love, like ‘I, Tonya’. I don’t want it to just be up to chance that it goes in the direction that I believe it should go.
“Sometimes I don’t want to leave it up to someone else, and that’s not to say I want to be in charge of all the decisions because I don’t know enough to be in charge of all the decisions, but I do want to be a part of the conversation.”

Tom Hanks has role responsibility

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks feels a “huge responsibility” when he plays “real people”.
The Oscar-winning actor has played the lead characters in a number of biographical films, including congressman Charlie Wilson in ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’, Walt Disney in ‘Saving Mr. Banks’, pilot Chesley Sullenberger in ‘Sully’, and the titular mariner in ‘Captain Phillips’ and he thinks the movies often become an accepted “official record” of events.
He told W magazine: “I play real people a lot. And it is a huge responsibility.
“Anytime you are playing somebody who was alive, for good or for bad, that performance becomes a version of an official record of what happened: what motivated them, what obstacles they faced, and how they got through their particular struggle. There’s a degree of leeway that you can allow yourself as long as you’re not turning good guys into bad guys, or knowledge into ignorance.”
However, the 61-year-old star – who can currently be seen in ‘The Post’ as famed editor Ben Bradlee, who defying threats from then-President Richard Nixon to publish the Pentagon Papers stories in the Washington Post in 1971 – admitted it is much easier playing characters who have passed away because he doesn’t have to meet his real life counterpart.
He added: “Having said that, it’s a little easier playing someone who’s no longer living. Because then you don’t have to meet them.”
Tom recently admitted he would refuse any request for him to screen the movie for President Donald Trump because of his attacks on the free press.
Asked if he’d accept an offer from Trump to screen the movie for him, he said: “That’s an interesting question. I don’t think I would.
“Because I think that at some point — look, I didn’t think things were going to be this way last November.
“I would not have been able to imagine that we would be living in a country where neo-Nazis are doing torchlight parades in Charlottesville and jokes about Pocahontas are being made in front of the Navajo code talkers.
“And individually we have to decide when we take to the ramparts. You don’t take to the ramparts necessarily right away, but you do have to start weighing things.
“You may think: ‘You know what? I think now is the time.’ This is the moment where, in some ways, our personal choices are going to have to reflect our opinions. We have to start voting, actually, before the election. So, I would probably vote not to go.”

Jessica Chastain inspired by Kardashians

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain sought inspiration from Kim Kardashian West for her role in ‘Molly’s Game’.
The 40-year-old actress portrays the titular character Molly Bloom in the biographical drama, which follows the story of the real life Molly, a skier who rose through the social ranks to become an organiser of underground poker games for the Hollywood elite, and she hailed the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star and her famous siblings as “incredible” examples of powerful women.
She said: “To play Molly Bloom, I thought about what women have to become in order to find power in a society where men are making all of the rules. I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh – the Kardashians are an incredible example of women who have their own sense of entrepreneurial power.’
“And in real life, Molly looked a lot like them. For research, I actually watched Kim’s tutorial on face shading and contouring.”
Jessica’s transformation in the movie was a huge departure from her usual look – but people frequently told her she looked her best on screen.
She added in an interview with W magazine: “As the movie goes on, Molly transforms into this idea of what a woman has to be in order to be heard: The heels get higher, the necklines are lower, the hair is longer.
“It was quite a departure for me, physically.
“And the strange thing is, I don’t look like myself at all in this film, and so many people have said to me that I’ve never looked better.”
The actress previously revealed she spent a lot of time with Molly when she was preparing for the movie, and praised her as “invaluable”.
She added: “I tried to hang out with Molly as much as I could. Molly was very invaluable to me in terms of the research, she was so accessible and I met with her and some players of the game and they took me to a game in New York. I loved the research of the film.”
