OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Okonedo’s family are more “excited” about her role in ‘Hellboy’ than anything she’s ever done.
The 50-year-old actress – who has daughter Aiofe, 28, from a previous relationship – plays seer Lady Hatton in the upcoming comic book movie and while she “didn’t know much” about the series until she signed up, everyone she knew was thrilled about the role.
She said: “I just felt, ‘I’m playing a blind seer called Lady Hatton, I get to be very glamorous, and I get to be in a ‘Hellboy’ movie, what’s not to like?’
“I just really liked the script, I thought it was really fun.
“My family had more of a strong reaction about me being in a ‘Hellboy’ movie than anything I’ve ever done they were beyond excited, the kids and my neighbours.
“I didn’t know much about them because I’m a bit green, I don’t know loads about superhero comics.”
Sophie had a “blast” working alongside David Harbour on the film, especially because she didn’t have to tone down anything about her performance.
She added to SciFiNow magazine: “I had an absolute blast. David is such a brilliant actor, I was working with a really good cast and had a rip-roaring time.
“I just got to be huge. I couldn’t be too happy. Big broad strokes, I got to yell and scream and be frightening. It was good fun.”
And the actress had a lot of praise for her co-star’s physical transformation, admitting she was “shocked” when she saw him on set for the first time.
She said: “He thought very deeply about the physicality and what was going on inside him and I thought that really showed.
“I was so shocked on the first day I got there because I didn’t really know how it all worked and I imagined there’d be a lot more CGI and stuff, but then I saw him.
“I’d read stuff about Hellboy and I couldn’t believe it, in real life he looks exactly like him, the prosthetics they did is a complete replica.
“So you had this giant red beast in front of you who youre acting to, you’re not having to imagine it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — J.J. Abrams was emotional when he was asked to direct ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.
The filmmaker – who directed 2015’s ‘The Force Awakens’ – was brought on to the project to replace Colin Trevorrow in September 2017 and J.J. jumped at the chance to complete the trilogy, which also includes ‘The Last Jedi’.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “When Kathy [Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy] called and asked if I’d be interested in coming aboard this movie, I was surprised by how emotional I felt about it. I didn’t expect to feel the way I did, and the opportunity to finish the story we started was something I couldn’t resist.
“The beauty of working with [co-writer] Chris Terrio and producing with Kathleen Kennedy is that I think we have found a way – I hope, it’s up for you to decide – to bring this story to a conclusion in a way that feels satisfying, surprising, amusing, shocking, all the ways that a story should make you feel. Mostly, it’s an adventure story about this new generation of characters who have inherited all sorts of things from those who come before. That was, in a way, how I felt about working on this movie.”
Meanwhile, Kathleen has insisted that although ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ is “the culmination of the Skywalker Saga”, it is not the end of ‘Star Wars’.
She said: “This [movie] is the culmination of the Skywalker Saga; it’s by no means the culmination of Star Wars. I’m sitting down now with Dan Weiss and David Benioff…and Rian Johnson. We’re all sitting down to talk about, where do we go next? We’ve all had conversations about what the possibilities might be, but now we’re locking it down.”
“We knew we were going to close this up, we knew that even before we started ‘The Force Awakens’. We are looking at the next saga. We are not just looking at another trilogy, we’re really looking at the next 10 years or more.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Wood was left terrified on holiday when his wife was almost eaten by an alligator.
The ‘EastEnders’ star was enjoying a boat trip in the Florida Everglades with his wife Alison and their children Buster and Amber when she jumped out of the boat and was confronted with a huge alligator.
He told the Daily Star: “I almost lost my wife to an alligator in Florida. So I’m looking at it and thinking, ‘It’s got to be a log or something. Got to be a log’. All of a sudden it f***ing goes down and I f***ing see an eye. All the kids are screaming, I’m screaming, ‘Get back in the boat!’
“As soon as an alligator goes underwater you don’t know where it is, it was horrible. It was only about 15 feet away.”
Jake, 46, revealed shocked staff told them they should never have left the boat and called the alligator a “maneater”.
Recalling the incident which happened in 2014, he added: “Good story. Although it did scar the kids for life.”
Speaking previously about ‘EastEnders’, which he took a break from last year, Jake said he loves the show but admitted he doesn’t see his family enough when he is working on it.
He explained: “I’ve been there 12 years and my approach has always been … two years ago I had a year off. I love being there, I love the job, but it is very demanding. It’s long hours.
“I’ve got a family, I’ve got two kids at home and a beautiful wife that I probably don’t see enough of.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams and Ayda Field quit ‘The X Factor’ after Simon Cowell refused to increase their £10 million salary.
The husband-and-wife team walked away from the reality TV show judging panel after just one series and although they remain on good terms with Simon, they were reportedly unhappy that their pay demands were not met.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The loss of Robbie is a big blow, given his huge star power. But the ‘X Factor’ is being overhauled and we are likely going to go back to three judges, which is how we started.
“Robbie and Ayda were already on a £10million deal and there was no way we were going to be able to increase that sort of money.
“They haven’t fallen out with Simon – they were all on holiday together recently – but there are business realities at play.”
Robbie previously insisted that they would only return to the show if they got a pay rise.
He said: “We would love to come back. But we need to be treated kindly, so we’ll see. Is that my pitch for a pay rise? Abso-f***ing-lutely.
“Honestly, ‘The X Factor’ has been my favourite thing that I’ve done in showbiz and a welcome break from the thing that I’ve been doing for the last 30 years.”
Robbie and Ayda announced their departure in a joint post on Robbie’s Instagram page, revealed that they had other commitments.
The statement read: “Sadly though it’s impossible to do everything … and we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.”
But the married couple will still be working with show boss Simon Cowell on other projects.
They added: “We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward – and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up…x (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling are working on a new comedy about Indian weddings.
Mindy will write the as-yet-untitled movie with Dan Goor, the co-creator and executive producer of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and she also has the option to direct.
Kaling and Goor will produce the movie with Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures.
According to Deadline, the movie will revolve around a huge wedding in India and has been called “‘Crazy Rich Asians’ meets ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’.”
It is a star vehicle for both Kaling and Chopra, and the movie will be set in America and India.
Priyanka, 36, shared the news on Instagram and wrote: “Two women with a passion for telling good stories, just got the green light to THEIR story THEIR way. So proud of this incredible partnership with @mindykaling and #dangoor! We are about to show you what it means to be modern, global, and Indian. See you at the cinema!”
Mindy wrote: “It’s happening” and added: “My dream team is making a movie. Can’t wait for this one!”
Universal has secured the rights to the movie after a hotly contested bidding war with Legendary, Sony, Netflix and Amazon Studios.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Mindy’s new comedy ‘Late Night’ will be released this summer.
The upcoming film -which explores sexism and diversity in the workplace – was penned by the 39-year-old actress and comedian, helmed by Nisha Ganatra and will be released by Amazon Studios across the US on June 7, 2019.
Mindy will star in the movie alongside Emma Thompson, 59, as Katherine Newbury, a legendary late-night talk show host who’s struggling to maintain the attention of her audience.
Newbury’s world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer (Mindy) and the cast includes John Lithgow, Max Casella, Hugh Dancy, Denis O’Hare, Reid Scott, Ike Barinholtz, John Early, Paul Walter Hauser, and Amy Ryan.
Speaking in a video for the official Amazon Studios YouTube account, the ‘Office’ star said: “I have some major news my movie ‘Late Night’ is going to premiere in theatres June 7th the last season of ‘Game of Thrones’ will be done by then so you have no reason not to see it.”
The movie scored the biggest domestic distribution deal at this year’s Sundance Festival for U.S. rights with a massive $13 million pact.

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Jones refused to let his wife Katya’s kiss with another man “get in the way of 10 very happy years”.
The professional dancers and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars have been married for six years and together for 10 but their union was rocked last year when the Russian dancer was pictured locking lips with comedian Seann Walsh after a night out drinking in a pub.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine, he said: “It was a shock. And we had to work it out between ourselves, to understand what had happened.
“But I wasn’t going to allow that one little thing to get in the way of 10 very happy years. People have said to me, ‘Why didn’t you feel this? Why didn’t you say that?’ For me, the initial reaction was to stay calm. I didn’t want to run around in a panic, because that’s not me.
“I’m private. I’m also quite positive. I wanted to speak to Katya – we had to sort it out privately.”
And he revealed that his mother encouraged him to forgive Katya.
He explained: “Mum always said people make mistakes, and you have to be understanding. It was a mistake, and we’re here now, together, moving on.”
And Katya insisted she is sorry for the incident but wants to move on.
She said: “Of course I regretted it. I apologised for the pain I’d caused, to Neil, to our families, even to the fans, who didn’t expect that.
“Emotions were high, but ‘Strictly’ said we could continue, so I knew I had to teach this person how to dance, no matter what.”
To show the world that their marriage is very much on track, Neil, 36, and Katya, 29, are touring their own show ‘Somnium: A Dancer’s Dream’ which is inspired by their romance and their life together.
Explaining the inspiration behind the dance extravaganza, Neil recently said: “It’s based on our story. There’s moments in, within the story, it’s not about what happened there, it’s about a World Championships.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Tomb Raider’ sequel is being planned.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Free Fire’ writer Amy Jump is penning the follow-up to the 2018 movie, which starred Alicia Vikander and earned over $270 million at the global box office.
Meanwhile, Alicia, 30, previously said becoming Lara Croft in the ‘Tomb Raider’ reboot was a “very empowering” experience.
The actress gained extra muscle for the all-action role in the Roar Uthaug-directed movie, and Alicia admitted to relishing going outside of her comfort zone for the coveted part.
She shared: “I don’t know when in life I would have been exposed to try so many new things, if it weren’t for this role. I found it very empowering.”
The Academy Award-winning star replaced Angelina Jolie as the English archaeologist in the franchise, and Alicia revealed she felt a pressure to get herself in tip-top condition for the role.
In fact, Alicia – who is married to fellow Hollywood star Michael Fassbender – said she took inspiration from the “female athletes and stunt women” currently working in the movie business.
She explained: “I looked at female athletes and stunt women in my industry and I thought, ‘I need to have that kind of physique for it to be plausible.'”
Alicia also revealed she was inspired by Angelina’s appearance as Lara Croft during her younger years.
The Swedish star said that seeing such a brave, athletic woman on screen in ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ and ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life’ fuelled her interest in action movies.
She said: “Angelina Jolie, when she stepped into the shoes of Lara Croft, it was the first time I had seen a woman being the centrepiece of this kind of action story.
“I’ve grown up loving these kinds of films and I’ve always wondered what it’s like to create these big stunts, sequences and action adventures. So, I really was intrigued to do the physical part of stepping into this role.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins needed eight bodyguards during a recent public appearance.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ diva – who often refers to herself as “The GC” – has her own personal bodyguard but recently needed seven bouncers to help protect her during an appearance at a nightclub.
According to The Sun, she said: “I have a bodyguard with me as I get mobbed so often I need someone to keep an eye on me.
“I get mobbed with frantic crowds crushing me, so I need security. The crowds have got bigger and bigger. The last time I turned up at a nightclub there was a crowd crush and I needed Sid and seven bouncers to form a protective circle around me.”
Meanwhile, it was revealed last month that Gemma was advised by police to leave her home indefinitely amid her concerns about an alleged stalker, who abused her in the street and was spotted walking outside her Essex home.
A source said: “Poor Gemma is traumatised by this entire episode.
“She is really upset and anxious, and has been scared to even leave her house.
“Gemma is always incredibly friendly and open to all her fans so to have someone abuse her in this way, and threaten her so horrifically, has left her incredibly shaken.
“Police are taking this matter very seriously, and given her some practical advice in how to handle herself going forwards. It is an ongoing investigation.”
The ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant – who has an on/off relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent – had told her Instagram followers she was “scared for [her] life” after spotting the man outside her home.
She wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the unnamed man: “Do you all remember that shocking video of two boys horrifically ABUSING ME well I am now petrified for my LIFE he has now found my home I AM SCARED FOR MY LIFE I am so grateful for how amazing the police have been I am actually scared for my life ….. has been here since SATURDAY why would you abuse someone then find out where they live and make them petrified I can’t leave my home through FEAR ….. I don’t feel safe and I feel very THREATENED and UNSAFE (sic)”
The videos showed the man sitting in a car and then walking around her building, with police then shown speaking to him, but the 38-year-old star claimed he told them he was a paparazzi photographer.
She added: “He told the police he was waiting for an appointment and three hours later said he was waiting for Gemma because he is a PAP.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anya Taylor-Joy feels “lucky” to have been mentored by a number of older actors.
The 22-year-old star has received a lot of helpful advice from her co-stars over the years and some of it has proven to be vital.
She said: “I’m lucky actors who are older than me seem to take me under their wing. Jennifer Jason Leigh [co-star in ‘Morgan’] once said to me, ‘Even if you don’t understand a script or what’s going on, if you love the director, just jump, because they’re going to do something right.’
“Romola Garai [‘The Miniaturist’ co-star] gave me a book that killed me. Inside she wrote, ‘Make sure your voice is heard; take a seat at the table.’ ”
The ‘Split’ actress was scouted as a model by famous agency Storm when she was just 16 but never felt comfortable in the fashion world so will always be grateful to ‘Downton Abbey’ actor Allen Leech for helping set her on the path to acting.
She told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “From the second I walked into Storm, I thought, ‘I want to be an actor.’ I didn’t think I could be a model. I grew up as a tomboy and never saw myself as pretty.
“I met Allen Leech on my third ever job and he took my name and number. A couple of weeks later, I got a call from his (and my now) agent. Allen jokes that he should be getting commission from all my movies. I’m like, ‘Dude, you’re not wrong!’ ”
While she’s happy with her success, Anya thinks it’s hilarious she’s been in so many horror movies.
She said: “If you had told baby me that I would be known as a scream queen or as horror’s It girl, I would have laughed so hard. That is so not me; I’ve never even seen a horror movie. I’ve never actually looked at genres.”

OHMYGOSSIP — J.J. Abrams consulted George Lucas before writing ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.
The acclaimed filmmaker – who has also directed the much-anticipated sci-fi movie – has revealed he discussed his ideas and ambitions for the project with the ‘Star Wars’ creator.
Speaking to IGN, J.J. explained: “This movie had a very, very specific challenge, which was to take eight films and give an ending to three trilogies, and so we had to look at, what is the bigger story? We had conversations amongst ourselves, we met with George Lucas before writing the script.
“These were things that were in real, not debate, but looking at the vastness of the story and trying to figure out, what is the way to conclude this? But it has to work on its own as a movie, it has to be its own thing, it has to be surprising and funny and you have to understand it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Star Wars’ films are set for a “hiatus”.
Disney boss Robert Iger has confirmed that the money-spinning franchise’s production schedule will slow down dramatically after the release of the J.J. Abrams-directed ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.
He told Bloomberg: “We will take a pause, some time, and reset, because the Skywalker saga comes to an end with this ninth movie. There will be other ‘Stars Wars’ movies, but there will be a bit of a hiatus.”
It’s been suggested that Disney’s decision has been influenced by the underwhelming box-office performance of 2018’s ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’.
What’s more, plans for further spin-off movies have been thrown into doubt as Disney considers how it plans to progress with the iconic franchise.
Iger added: “We have not announced any specific plans for movies thereafter. There are movies in development, but we have not announced them.”
Iger made the statement shortly after producer Kathleen Kennedy insisted that although ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ is “the culmination of the Skywalker Saga”, it is not the end of ‘Star Wars’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth has been cast in the ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ reboot.
The 35-year-old actor – who is best-known for starring as Thor in the Marvel superhero movies – has been added to the cast of Kevin Smith’s upcoming comedy movie, which is a reboot of 2001’s ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’.
The new film will see the two main characters attempt to stop Hollywood from rebooting ‘Bluntman and Chronic’.
Chris will appear in the film alongside a host of other big-name Hollywood stars, including Joe Manganiello, Rosario Dawson, and Jason Lee.
Meanwhile, Chris recently confessed he would “love” to play James Bond.
The actor admitted would relish the chance to replace Daniel Craig as the iconic character.
He said: “I don’t think you’ll ever meet anyone who doesn’t want to have a crack at James Bond. I’d love to do it.
“But that’s up to so many elements and is way beyond myself; it’s not one you can pitch yourself on to either. It’s something that the community of Bond fans, Barbara Broccoli and the whole crew there agree on, and it has to be a very organic decision from them.
“There have been a lot of names thrown out there and a lot of brilliant people can tackle that one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley is dating her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Kevin Clifton, according to ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott.
The 32-year-old TV presenter and Sam ended their five-year relationship earlier in 2019, and Sam has now claimed to have learned of Stacey and Kevin’s relationship via text.
He claims Kevin sent a text to his ‘Strictly’ partner that read: “I love you.”
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, Sam explained: “The blame is with Kevin. He’s an absolute rat.”
Sam added that he and Stacey had already agreed to split when he discovered she was dating Kevin.
He recalled: “I was getting my stuff to leave. Stacey was in the loo.
“Her phone went and it was Kevin Clifton – ‘I love you’ with a red love heart.
“I grabbed the phone and confronted her. She said she’d tell me everything I needed to know.”
According to Sam, Stacey subsequently confessed to falling for Kevin during their time on the show.
She wrote: “Sam, I know you hate me at the moment.
“But you saw I didn’t start entertaining and texting him (Kevin) until I split up with you. I was not with you when we started it all.
“I did fall for him but when we were done. I will tell you anything you want to know.”
Sam – who was left feeling heartbroken by the news – replied: “I don’t hate you Stacey. I hate what you’ve done.”
Despite feeling upset, Sam thinks discovering the truth was a “blessing”.
He explained: “I needed a sign because I wasn’t going to be told – I’d be left in the dark for the next two or three months.
“I actually felt relief – the shock came later. I got closure from Stacey within a second. For me, the blame is mainly with Kevin.”

The 29-year-old actress – who starred on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2018 – is romancing Rob Jowers, who is the managing director of Spectrecom Films.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Emily has been so busy with work that she hasn’t really had time for dating.
“But she met Rob through friends and they have recently spent a lot of time together.
“They are getting on really well and having a lot of fun. Emily is super-happy at the moment – it’s an incredibly exciting time for her.”
The new couple recently enjoyed a date at a Japanese restaurant in London and were spotted leaving the eatery walking hand-in-hand together.

OHMYGOSSIP — Prue Leith once accidentally stabbed a colleague in his leg.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ star has revealed she knifed a fellow chef after falling over while working in a busy kitchen – although the situation wasn’t quite as serious as she initially feared.
Prue explained: “I once thought I’d stabbed a fellow chef in the manhood.
“I was very pregnant and quite unbalanced, and I slipped and fell with a knife in my hand and blood poured out of his upper thigh.”
Prue’s colleague was very understanding about the situation.
However, the 79-year-old restaurateur still gave some monetary compensation to her colleague.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “The poor guy didn’t want to take his trousers down in front of a woman, and giving a brandy at that time was probably the worst thing you can do.
“He was, in fact, very sweet about it, although I had to give him quite a hefty amount of money when he couldn’t work for a while and then wanted to go back to Spain and open a cafe.”
Meanwhile, Prue recently argued there are “too many cookery shows” on television.
She explained: “My own opinion is there are too many cookery shows on telly. I don’t watch cookery shows because for me they go too slowly.
“I think ‘I know what he’s doing now, why doesn’t he get on with it?’ But if you’re learning to cook from telly, you need it to be slow. I would prefer there to be less cookery, but broadcasters are doing what the public wants.”

When asked by a fan about her sex life during an Instagram live, the 77-year-old reality star boasted that she has intercourse with her partner, Peter, multiple times a week because he’s a “very active man”.
According to the Daily Star Online, she said on the now-deleted video: “I get it three nights a week.
“My husband is a very active man. He is a beast. A beast.”
Kim revealed last year that she has a “very” active sex life and dismissed the idea that getting older means the passion fades in a relationship.
She said: “People think when you become elderly, you don’t have sex, but you do.
“I look at Peter and think, ‘Cor, you’re lovely!’ I’m 76 and I very actively get my drift dear, ooh yes.”
The ‘How Clean Is Your House?’ presenter’s husband is 78 – but she’s adamant she doesn’t let their ages stop them from getting jiggy with it in the bedroom.
She previously explained: “I weigh a lot, I weigh a ton, but my husband throws me about he’s a very physical man, I’ve got no complaints in that department.”
Kim opened up about her bedroom antics with Peter, whom she married in 1979, once again in 2017 and divulged she likes to spice up her sex life by being spanked with lettuce leaves.
She said: “I’m into lettuce leaves at the moment for a little smack on the bum, it’s rather nice you know.”
