Flirty Dancing will return for second season

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Flirty Dancing’ has been recommissioned by Channel 4.
Ashley Banjo will return to host the hit show, which sees two disillusioned daters taught two halves of the same bespoke dance before being brought together to perform the routine and see whether they have chemistry.
The programme will air at an earlier time slot of 8pm for six hour-long episodes as well as a one-hour Stand Up To Cancer celebrity special, and the 30-year-old dancer can’t wait to “help create some romance” for all the new contestants.
He said in a statement: “I loved working with our singles last year, creating something special for each of them and watching the sparks fly.
“For me the show provides an incredibly unique experience for people to meet through dance, and it is so rewarding (as well as nerve-racking!) to watch it all play out. I can’t wait to help create some romance for all our new hopeful daters.”
Sarah Lazenby, head of features and formats at Channel 4, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the joy of ‘Flirty Dancing’ back to Channel 4, at an earlier time slot so that all the family can enjoy the timeless romance it evokes.
“Curated, once again, by the warm-hearted giant Ashley Banjo, we hope this series will create some more rom-com magic for the small screen.”
Second Star’s chief creative officer Deborah Sargeant added: “We are incredibly proud of this format – and of the production team who work so passionately to produce it – so we were thrilled that the first series was so warmly received. We can’t wait to get more couples dancing in the street this summer. ”

Sara Davies to join Dragons’ Den

OHMYGOSSIP — Sara Davies is joining ‘Dragons’ Den’.
The 35-year-old entrepreneur – who is founder of worldwide crafting company Crafter’s Companion – is set to be a Dragon on the BBC Two investment show and is “absolutely delighted” about her new role, because she has been a fan of the show since she was a child.
Sara said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join the other Dragons for the new series of the show.
“I’ve always been very passionate about investing time in and sharing my expertise with other entrepreneurs and hopefully I’ll be able to help some of the contestants to really take their businesses to the next level.
“I’ve been a fan of the show since it started, I was even invited to pitch on the show 13 years ago so it feels like I’ve come a full circle.
“It wasn’t all that long ago when I was in the position of the contestants so I really feel like I will be able to relate to their stories and their journeys so far.
“I understand the highs and lows of building a global business from the ground and taking that initial product idea all the way to market.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and hopefully being introduced to some businesses that I can really get excited about.”
Patrick Holland, controller of BBC Two, admitted the channel are excited about the upcoming series and are looking forward to Sara joining the show, describing her as a “formidable” businesswoman.
He said: “With a BAFTA nomination and brilliant viewing figures, ‘Dragons’ Den’ continues to be a fantastic show on BBC Two.
“Combining great aspirational opportunity with the promise of really challenging encounters with the Dragons, the show is going from strength to strength. Sara is a formidable business woman and I can’t wait to see her start in the Den.”

Gaynor Faye’s Emmerdale whiplash

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaynor Faye suffered whiplash while filming an ‘Emmerdale’ car accident stunt.
The star’s character, busy businesswoman Megan Macey, will accidentally knock into Kim Tate’s (Claire King) long-lost son Jamie Tate’s (Alexander Lincoln) motor while texting and driving, and his vehicle then runs over Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
The two male characters are rushed to hospital following the incident, and the 47-year-old actress didn’t escape the day of filming unscathed either.
When asked how it was to shoot the scenes, she said: “It was fine for me. Ask the stunt lady and she’ll give you another answer, but it was fine for me. It was great. I just had to sit in front of a green screen and go through the motions of the crash.
“It still gave myself a bit of whiplash, though! I always just go for it because there’s nothing worse than a bad stunt or somebody looking like they haven’t actually hit something.”
But there looks set to be serious consequences for Megan as Gaynor has hinted her alter-ego may even be set for a stint in jail.
She added: “We’re filming the aftermath of it at the moment and dealing with all the guilt. The producers purposely keep it from us.
“I’m going, ‘Really? What’s going to happen?’ I might go to prison.”
But Gaynor has dropped hints about the show’s car incidents before.
In August, the former ‘Coronation Street’ actress admitted she hadn’t been on the Dales set since a big car crash, which occurred when the brakes on Frank Clayton’s (Michael Praed) new sports car were faulty, hinting her alter-ego had died.
She said at the time: “The thing is I haven’t been back and filmed anything since, I’m giving you a clue.
“Or maybe I’m just having some time off, who knows?”

Simon Cowell felt X Factor’s old format ‘lost sight’ of the contestants

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell decided to change ‘The X Factor’ because he felt they had “lost sight of the contestants”.
The 59-year-old music mogul has decided to overhaul the talent show in favour of a new celebrity and all stars version as he felt the old format was focusing on the judges rather than the auditionees.
Speaking about the judging panel costs, he said: “It was no secret it was millions and millions of pounds. I am going to be really honest with you – and this is no disrespect to Robbie or anyone else who has been on the panel – my focus this year is mainly about the people who are coming on the show to compete. I’m probably talking myself out of a job here, but I think there has been so much emphasis on the judges.
“We’ve lost sight of the contestants. It got crazy, I never thought this would happen 20 years ago, when I started this show, that we would be talking more about the judges than the contestants, it’s complete nonsense. Somehow that’s the way it’s gone. So that’s why me and Rob were talking, and he could see where I was coming from. It’s about getting the right people to come on the show, that was it.”
Simon isn’t sure whether Louis Tomlinson would return to the panel this year but the music mogul would “respect” his decision if he needed to take a break.
He told The Sun newspaper: “If he said to me, I am taking time off I would respect that. He’s a great judge, by the way. He worked so hard for it.
“What he has gone through, you don’t even think about work, you just think about how you’re going to be there for him as his friend.”

Megan Barton Hanson was banned from flying after allergic reaction

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson was forced to miss Coachella when her doctors banned her from flying due to an allergic reaction to hair dye.
The former ‘Love Island’ star went to hospital earlier this month after her face and body swelled up when she used a box dye kit, and she’s now said the incident caused her to miss the famous Californian music festival because doctors wouldn’t allow her to board a plane.
Speaking to HuffPost at a BUILD LDN event, she lamented: “I am fine now. I laugh now – looking back it was hilarious. My head swelled so big – like a cartoon character.
“I had hair dye done professionally twice – twice before but decided to touch up my roots myself at home – the Uber driver was scared.
“My eyes got big and head was getting big. My scalp was stinging. It was so scary as I did not know what was happening. My doctor said, ‘your face is swelling’ and she called an ambulance.
“I missed Coachella. They wouldn’t let me fly. I was sobbing at the gate saying: let me go, with this huge face. It was like ‘Hitch’ when Will Smith’s face swells up.”
Megan recently revealed it was her mother who decided to take her daughter to the hospital, after she “burst out crying” at the sight of Megan’s swollen features.
She said: “So I called my mum. And I was like, ‘what do I do?’
“I can’t just walk in A&E, if people see me this will be everywhere. And we all know how much trolling I’ve had from my before and after surgery pictures.
“I thought this is all I need now me with a massive moon head! I sent my mum a photo. Over the phone she was fine.
“She got the train down and met at the doctors. She walked in and burst out crying! I was like ‘Oh My God, it is bad!'”

Leonardo DiCaprio in talks for Guillermo del Toro’s next film

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro’s new film ‘Nightmare Alley’.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 44-year-old actor is being eyed for the lead role in remake of the 1947 flick, which starred Tyrone Power as “a corrupt con-man who teams up with a female psychiatrist to trick people into giving them money”.
The movie – del Toro’s follow-up to the Oscar-winning ‘The Shape of Water’ – is based on the novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham.
The 54-year-old filmmaker has penned the script alongside Kim Morgan and the project is being produced and funded by del Toro and J. Miles Dale of TSG Entertainment, whilst Fox Searchlight’s own distribution rights.
The movie, which begins filming in autumn, comes after DiCaprio filmed Quentin Tarantino’s Manson family murder pic ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, which also stars Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, and is due out in July.
The ‘Catch Me If You Can’ star hasn’t been seen on the big screen since 2015’s ‘The Revenant’.
Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that DiCaprio’s live-action version of ‘Akira’ is to be filmed in California.
The film, based on the Manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhiro Otama, will soon begin shooting in the US state after scoring $18.5 million in tax credits under the California Film Commission’s Film & TV Tax Credit Program 2.0.
The shoot is scheduled to take place over 71 days and, according to Deadline, will employ more than 200 “below-the-line” crew and more than 5,000 employees.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ director Taika Waititi remains attached to helm the film, which takes place in Tokyo in the year 2060 and follows Tetsuo and his best friend Kaneda after Tetsuo’s government experiment-boosted psychic powers threaten both of their lives.
The movie is one of 18 other films that will receive the tax benefits under the condition filming takes place in California and the picture will be produced by DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions that he founded in 2004 alongside Andrew Lazar.

Ben Affleck to direct and star in Ghost Army

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck is set to star in and direct ‘Ghost Army’.
The 46-year-old actor will tackle the upcoming true World War II tale – which is based on the book ‘The Ghost Army of World War II’ by Rick Beyer and Elizabeth Sayles – as both the director and the lead star.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is in development at Universal Pictures, and has a script penned by ‘True Detective’ creator Nic Pizzolatto, who updated the work from an earlier draft by ‘Shazam!’ writer Henry Gayden.
‘Ghost Army’ is set to tell the story of a squadron of American soldiers who were picked for their creativity and ingenuity to be fashioned into the ultimate masters of deception.
The squadron used blow-up tanks, fake radio transmissions, and noise machines to trick German forces into thinking armies were in certain positions, and the real-life soldiers have been credited with saving countless lives thanks to their clever tricks.
Ben is also set to produce the flick through his Pearl Street Films banner, alongside Andrew Lazar, who will work through Mad Chance Productions.
Pearl Street Films’ Madison Ainley will executive produce, while executive VP production Mark Sourian will oversee the project for Universal.
For Ben, the project comes after he recently starred in Netflix’s action thriller ‘Triple Frontier’, and is also working on a basketball drama titled ‘Torrance’.
As a director, he last helmed ‘Live By Night’ in 2016, and before that he took on 2012’s ‘Argo’ as the director and the lead star, which bagged him a Best Picture gong at the Oscars.
The new role also comes as he’s stepped down from his run as the iconic superhero Batman, after previously being tipped to direct and star in the 2021 standalone movie.

Karen Gillan’s lengthy shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan doesn’t think ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will ever be finished.
The 31-year-old actress will reprise her role as Nebula in the upcoming blockbuster but admitted the film has needed numerous reshoots, prompting the cast to joke they will end up having to act out the final scenes live at the premiere in order for audiences to find out what happens.
She quipped: “My last day was [a few] weeks ago. They keep doing reshoots.
“We call it ‘The Infinity Movie’. It just never ends.
“I think we’re going to be at the premiere and they’re going to be playing it and we’ll act the last scene live because they won’t have finished it.”
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star hopes the movie doesn’t spell the end for her character.
She told Empire magazine: “I think I would be really sad to say goodbye.
“I’ve loved her from the moment I auditioned for her. In the audition, it was a scene between her and Gamora that never made it into the first ‘Guardians’ movie but it was all about their sibling rivalry and Nebula’s jealousy.
“She’s evolved from a villain to someone we’ve developed empathy towards. I think she’s going to be a character we’re all rooting for.”
While a number of characters were killed off in 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, Karen was relieved to find out early on that Nebula wouldn’t fall victim to Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) infamous snap.
She said: “I probably found out quite early on – before the shooting of the first maybe, because of scheduling stuff.
“I was really excited. I definitely want Nebula to have the cathartic experience she deserves with her father.”

Amy Poehler enjoyed ordering friends around

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Poehler loved ordering her friends around when they made ‘Wine Country’.
The 48-year-old actress stars opposite pals including Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph in the Netflix movie, which is loosely based on one of their real-life vacations, and, as she also directed the film, she enjoyed getting to tell them all what to do.
Admitting she keeps being asked if she finds it difficult to direct her friends, Amy laughed: “I tell them, ‘No, I love telling my friends where to stand and what to say!’ ”
And Amy – who has sons Archie, 10, and Abel, eight, with ex-husband Will Arnett – admitted all the characters are “distorted” versions of the actresses’ real life personalities.
She told Sunday Times Style magazine: “We all play distorted semi-versions of ourselves. I definitely would be the one on the trip that would be telling everybody what to do and overplanning it.
“I mean, I was the one who was, like, ‘We should make this a movie’, and then I made it a movie. So it’s very meta.”
Amy, Tina and Maya met when they worked on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and their friendship thrived, despite how tough it could be working on the show.
She said: “The closest thing to feeling like an athlete for me would be working at ‘SNL’. [It was a] very high-pressure environment.”
The film’s cast recently praised the former ‘Parks and Recreation’ star’s organisational skills but admitted they didn’t make it easy for her directing the comedy.
Emily Spivey said: “She had her work cut out for her with having to wrangle us because we’re always doing bits and chatter and talking. She’s really like a good mama bear.”

Simon Cowell announces new talent show set in Antarctica

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has announced he’s launching a talent show in Antarctica.
The ‘X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ boss took to Twitter on Easter Monday (22.04.19) to tease the new contest based in the freezing continent, which is covered in ice and practically uninhabited, called ‘Take The Stage Antarctica’.
Alongside a short clip teasing the title and location, Simon tweeted: “I’ve set up talent shows all over the world. But until now, one place was missing. I am very excited to tell you that we are finally expanding into Antarctica… #TakeTheStageAntarctica #Ad (sic)”
No further details about the show and its format have been revealed as of yet.
Simon is currently busy refreshing the ‘X Factor’ franchise with a celebrity edition on the way.
The 59-year-old music mogul is keen to see the stars who take part in the show make a genuine bid for chart success, following in the footsteps of former ‘Neighbours’ co-stars Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, and ‘Soldier, Soldier’ actors Robson Green and Jerome Flynn.
He said recently: “In the same way Pete Waterman made Kylie and Jason musical stars, and what I did with Robson and Jerome, I’d like to think through the process we’ll find someone who can sell records rather than just doing the show as a stunt.”
There will be no public auditions for the show and Simon admitted changing the format of ‘The X Factor’ has given him a “buzz”.
He added: “I’m excited again because my focus is who will be on the show.”
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge David Walliams is even set to take part.
The 47-year-old comedian is keen to show off his singing talents in the upcoming celebrity version and his friend, showrunner Simon, thinks he’ll be “amazing”.
He said: “I think David [Walliams] might enter, seriously, that would be amazing.”
Simon is set to offer the winner of the show a record deal with Syco.
There is also talk of an ‘All-Star’ series which would see previous contestants back on screens.

Craig Revel Horwood brands Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton romance a ‘blessing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood believes Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton’s rumoured romance is a “blessing”.
The 36-year-old professional dancer – who split with his wife and fellow dancer Karen Clifton in March last year – and the ‘Stacey Dooley Investigates’ star have been rumoured to have struck up a romance following their time partnered together on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year, which they went on to win as a pair.
And now, Craig – who is a judge on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition – has said he doesn’t believe in the “curse” that suggests being on the show causes couples to break up when celebrities embark on romances with their dance partners, as he sees the blossoming new relationships as “successes”.
He said: “I was surprised by that! Obviously they left it until later on. I hope they live happily ever after.
“It will be another Strictly success story. I never call it the ‘Strictly curse’. I call it the Strictly blessing. People need to fall in love.”
Craig believes it’s natural for people to “fall in love” on the show, but doesn’t think the programme is to blame for any failed relationships, as he says splits are inevitable as the so called “curse” never strikes anyone in a “strong loving relationship”.
Speaking to TV Week in Australia, the 54-year-old star said: “You’re dancing up close and personal and spending all of your time with that one person.
“Of course people fall in love. But my point is, if your relationship in real life is suffering anyway, it’s going to happen anyway whether it happens on ‘Strictly’ … or in real life. If you have a strong loving relationship in the first place, that stuff just doesn’t happen.”
Rumours of Stacey and Kevin’s romance began when her ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott claimed to have learned of their relationship via text, after he and Stacey ended their five-year romance earlier this year.
He said: “I was getting my stuff to leave. Stacey was in the loo.
“Her phone went and it was Kevin Clifton – ‘I love you’ with a red love heart.
“I grabbed the phone and confronted her. She said she’d tell me everything I needed to know.”
According to Sam, Stacey subsequently confessed to falling for Kevin during their time on ‘Strictly’.
She wrote: “Sam, I know you hate me at the moment.
“But you saw I didn’t start entertaining and texting him (Kevin) until I split up with you. I was not with you when we started it all.
“I did fall for him but when we were done. I will tell you anything you want to know.”

Natalie Portman to narrate Dolphin Reef

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman will narrate Disney’s ‘Dolphin Reef’ movie.
The 37-year-old actress is set to tell the story through the role of the narrator in the feature film, which is being created by a new Disney-branded film label called Disneynature and will be show on the company’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, Disney+.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Dolphin Reef’ is being directed by Keith Scholey and will follow a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin named Echo, who can’t decide if it’s time to grow up and take on new responsibilities, before realising he can’t resist the many adventures the ocean has to offer.
Paul Baribault, vice president of Disneynature, said in a statement: “Disneynature takes audiences to spectacular and remote places to share remarkable wildlife stories captured by our award-winning film crews.”
‘Dolphin Reef’ will join the line-up for streaming service Disney+, which is set to launch on November 12 as a family-friendly platform with an expansive library of Disney classics, including ‘101 Dalmatians’, ‘Bambi’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Mary Poppins’, and ‘Fantasia’.
The service will be home to 7,500 TV episodes and 500 movies, as well as original content such as ‘The Mandalorian’, ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ and the live-action remake of ‘Lady and the Tramp’.
The Hollywood Reporter also states Disney+ will feature movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and National Geographic.
For Natalie, the narration role comes as she’s also set to appear on the service in her role as Padmé Amidala in the prequel trilogy of the ‘Star Wars’ franchise – which was created by Lucasfilm – and as Jane Foster in Marvel’s 2011 movie ‘Thor’, and 2013 sequel ‘Thor: The Dark World’.

Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson to play couple in Marry Me

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson are set to couple up in the new rom-com ‘Marry Me’.
The 49-year-old singer-and-actress is teaming up with STX Entertainment – the company behind the ‘Medicine’ singer’s last film ‘Second Act’ – for the forthcoming flick, which has been compared to ‘Notting Hill’ and ‘The Proposal’.
Jennifer – who recently got engaged in real life to baseball star Alex Rodriguez – will play a pop star who marries a stranger (Owen) after finding out her fiancé has cheated on her.
The pair meet after the singer holds a ‘marry me’ sign at one of her concerts.
STX chairman Adam Fogelson commented on ‘Marley & Me’ star Owen’s addition to the movie: “Owen is a hilarious and charismatic addition to this film, and the perfect person to play opposite Jen in a role that was quite literally made for her.”
It’s not the first time Jennifer and Owen, 50, have starred alongside one another.
The pair appeared in the 1997 horror ‘Anaconda’ together, along with the likes of Ice Cube and Jon Voight.
Jennifer is also producing ‘Marry Me’ alongside Elaine Goldsmith Thomas and Benny Media.
The trio also worked on last year’s ‘Second Act’.
According to Variety, ‘Marry Me’ will begin filming in the autumn.
Meanwhile, Jennifer previously admitted she is “quite particular” about the roles she takes on.
She said: “I’m quite particular. I’ve been offered a couple of movies over the past couple of years but unless it’s the right thing and I get the right types of opportunities, I’d rather create them. That’s mine and [producing partner] Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas’ mantra. We don’t force things, but we don’t wait around either … If no one is giving us the stories that we want to tell, then we’ll create them ourselves.”

Lorraine Kelly lands guest judge role on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly will be a guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’.
The 59-year-old Scottish TV star has landed a spot on the BBC Three show’s panel alongside Rupaul, Michelle Visage and another star who hasn’t been named yet.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the episode will air later this year.
The ‘Lorraine’ host has made no secret of her love of the drag show and previously tried to encourage music legend Cher to join the American series.
She said: “You have to go on RuPaul’s Drag Race, please.
“They would spontaneously combust if you were on that.”
Meanwhile, Cheryl Tweedy was previously confirmed as a guest judge.
The 35-year-old singer – who has featured as a panelist on ‘The X Factor’ and ‘The Greatest Dancer’ in the past – has filmed an episode of the upcoming reality contest alongside Rupaul and Michelle and one of the rotating residents, Alan Carr and Graham Norton.
The former Girls Aloud star got to give her verdict after the contestants performed one of her biggest solo singles.
A source said: “Girls Aloud have had a massive impact on pop culture in the UK so telly bosses were desperate to get Cheryl involved.
“She jumped at the chance and recently visited the set to film as a guest judge.
“Cheryl gave her comments on contestants who performed a lip-sync to her 2012 number one single ‘Call My Name’. Viewers will love it.”
Meanwhile, Graham recently admitted he was “ridiculously happy” to have signed up for the UK show.
He said: “Becoming part of the drag race family makes me ridiculously happy! I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk!!!”
The 56-year-old star and Alan, 42, will alternate on the programme each week but will both appear for the finale.
While Graham has some experience after being a guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars’ in the US, Alan will be joining the team for the first time.
The ‘Chatty Man’ host said: “Wow! To be sat next to Michelle Visage and Mama Ru as a guest judge on possibly one of my all-time favourite shows EVER is a dream come true.
“I can’t wait to see what the UK Queens have got in store – it’s going to be sickening! *does death drop*”
The UK edition will follow a similar format to its predecessor in the US, with 10 contestants competing in individual and team challenges.

Anna Maxwell Martin joins Line of Duty

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Maxwell Martin has joined the cast of ‘Line of Duty’.
The ‘Bleak House’ actress is “dead chuffed” to have been asked to play
anti-corruption officer Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael in the final two episodes of series five.
She said: “I’ve been a fan of Line Of Duty for years, so was dead chuffed to be part of series five. I’m so pleased I no longer have to keep it a secret!
“I feel honoured to follow in the footsteps of the host of great actors who make up the ‘Line Of Duty’ family, and Jed Mercurio – of course – has written a brilliant character in Carmichael.
“She’s a woman on a mission.”
Showrunner Jed Mercurio is “delighted and flattered” to have the award-winning star on board.
He said: “I’m delighted and flattered an actor of Anna Maxwell Martin’s status agreed to play this pivotal role in Line Of Duty.
“Anna was a pleasure to work with and brought real depth to the character of DCS Carmichael.”
And bosses at World Productions, who make the crime drama, are “thrilled” to have landed the 41-year-old actress for such a key role.
Simon Heath, executive producer for World Productions, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Anna again, but in a very different role.
“I can’t wait for the ‘Line Of Duty’ audience to see what she’s brought to the show.”
Former ‘Eggheads’ star CJ de Mooi is “dying” from AIDs and facing be made homeless.
The ex-quizzer, 49, used to be a regular on the BBC One show, until he was given the boot in 2016, when he was wrongly accused of sexual assault.
He also faced being extradited to the Netherlands after being detained under a European arrest warrant at Heathrow Airport accused of manslaughter, murder, assault and battery in Amsterdam in 1988.
Although all the charges were dropped, CJ has used up all his money on legal bills and was made bankrupt in September.
The former model – who has found solace in running – took to his Twitter account on Sunday (21.04.19) to reveal he has spent the past three decades fighting the life-threatening infection and that he may not have long “left”.
He wrote: “I’ve been living with AIDS for 30 years but the agony of the last 3 years means I may not have many left. I’m outwardly healthy, still running and am staying positive I can get better.
Thank you all for your love and if I can do anything to help any of you, please just ask. CJ (sic)”
CJ – who lives in Caldicot, Monmouthshire, with his husband Andrew Doran – has help running his profile on the micro-blogging app by his friend Joe, who has asked for donations via a crowdfunding campaign to help his friend who is “about to lose his home”.
He said: “CJ’s life is ruined, he is dying and about to lose his home…
“Thank you so much to everyone who donated, commented, retweeted or sent support.
“You are amazing as is the £3348.72 raised for CJ so far.
“If he somehow manages to save his house, it will all be repaid or go to charity. Joe.”
Joe said that the money would be “repaid” if he does manage to keep a roof under his head.
He added “Thank you so much to everyone who donated, commented, retweeted or sent support. You are amazing as is the £3348.72 raised for CJ so far. If he somehow manages to save his house, it will all be repaid or go to charity. Joe.”
CJ previously opened up about the incident in 1988 in his tome ‘CJ – The Autobiography of CJ de Mooi’ and explained how he fended off a knife-wielding man and “half-punched, half-pushed” him into the canal after he tried to steal from him, but profusely denied that he had “killed” him.
He said: “This warrant seems to have been issued because of what I said and wrote in my autobiography – they claim in my autobiography I wrote that I killed a man, I left him for dead, I knocked him unconscious.
“I didn’t. Nowhere in my book does it say that, if you please just read the book, all it says is a guy came up behind me with a knife and tried to mug me and the words in the autobiography are: ‘I half-punched, half-pushed him into a canal and walked away’, that is all it says.”
It was recently revealed the series finale will be a huge 90 minutes long.
A source said: “Creating a closing episode which is the same length as some feature films shows just how huge this show has become and how much the corporation values it.
“Jed also felt it was necessary to create a bumper finale to tie up the many loose ends created in this series twisting storylines.”

CJ de Mooi starting new treatment

OHMYGOSSIP — CJ de Mooi will start a “new course of treatment” in hospital on Tuesday (23.04.19).
The former ‘Eggheads’ star revealed on Twitter over the weekend that he is “dying of AIDS” and in danger of losing his home, but he’s maintaining a positive attitude ahead of starting a fresh medical procedure this week.
A post on his social media page on Monday (22.04.19), believed to be from his friend Joe, who also adds updates to the account, wrote: “Let’s all just cheer up a bit please! CJ is always positive and will start posting his morning videos again soon as people really miss them.
“He goes to hospital tomorrow to start a new course of treatment so we’ll keep smiling and enjoy the sunny weather shan’t we?”
And the 49-year-old quizzer also personally thanked his “Twitter family” for their messages of support.
He wrote: “Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all the kind words.
“Social media can be a rough place sometimes but my Twitter family is wonderful and I hope I can return the love and positivity you’ve shown me.
“Get out there, enjoy the sun and remember you are amazing! CJ.”
CJ – who lives in Caldicot, Monmouthshire, with his husband Andrew Doran – revealed over the weekend he is trying to “stay positive” about his prognosis but claimed the stress of recent years, which saw him axed from ‘Eggheads’ over a wrongful accusation of sexual assault and rack up huge legal bills fighting extradition to the Netherlands after being accused of manslaughter, murder, assault and battery in Amsterdam in 1988, has shortened his life.
He wrote: “I’ve been living with AIDS for 30 years but the agony of the last 3 years means I may not have many left. I’m outwardly healthy, still running and am staying positive I can get better.
Thank you all for your love and if I can do anything to help any of you, please just ask. CJ (sic)”
