E. L. James claims producers are desperate for rights to new book

OHMYGOSSIP — E. L. James says Hollywood producers are queuing up to buy the rights to her new novel.
The 56-year-old author has revealed that after the movie adaptations of her erotic ‘Fifty Shades’ trilogy banked over $1 billion at the box office worldwide her latest tome ‘The Mister’ – which sold 52,000 copies in its first week on sale – is already set to become a film.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “People are asking, yes. I have been asked. It is a big commitment.”
The ‘Fifty Shades’ series starred Dakota Johnson as naive student Anastasia Steele who embarks on a relationship with billionaire businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) who introduces her to the world of BDSM, however, the writer admits her latest story is less intense, insisting: “The sex is different.”
James also revealed that a line of sex toys inspired by ‘The Minister’ could go on sale soon after the success of her ’50 Shades’ themed Lovehoney collection.
She said: “The most fun we had was working with adult sex toys. The meetings we had around our kitchen table you could not believe. We have meetings next week – so there will be fun stuff coming.”
‘The Mister’ follows Maxim Trevelyan, a wealthy aristocrat who has just inherited his family’s noble title and estate, however, his life is turned upside down when he embarks on a relationship with the mysterious Alessia Demachi.
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ – which was James’ first novel – has sold more than 6m copies to date and is the best-selling novel of all time in the UK.

Alex Jones and Matt Baker won’t be working together ‘for quite some time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Jones and Matt Baker won’t be hosting ‘The One Show’ together “for quite some time” after their final episode this week.
The 42-year-old presenter – who is pregnant with her second child – appeared alongside her co-star on Thursday (25.04.19) for their last episode side by side before she leaves to go on maternity leave.
Speaking on the show, Matt pointed out it will be “quite some time” before they’re back together, and Alex said: “It does feel weird … It’s going to be odd, yes but it’ll be quick.
“I’ll be back in the autumn. Keep the seat warm.”
Her co-star added: “It goes without saying, I’ll miss you.”
She replied: “Oh don’t, I’m going to cry!”
Alex – who already has two-year-old son Ted with husband Charlie Thomson – will be back for her final episode this evening (26.04.19), but she won’t be joined by her co-star as Matt doesn’t usually host the programme on Fridays.
Taking to Instagram after the show aired, the host – who will be replaced by Oti Mabuse while she’s on maternity leave – admitted that while it “feels so weird”, she is glad to have the opportunity to focus on motherhood.
She wrote: “It feels so weird to be saying goodbye, but it’s only temporary, the autumn will come round soon enough. I’ll miss the team and lovely viewers but I’m looking forward to being just mama for a little while.”
Alex previously admitted she returned to ‘The One Show’ too early after giving birth to Ted.
She previously said: “I made promises that were sort of unrealistic […] In hindsight, five and a half months would have been better. But you don’t know before going off on maternity.”

Chris Packham shocked by ‘ghastly’ dead crows protest

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Packham has hit out after two dead crows were strung up outside his home.
The ‘Springwatch’ host, who successfully campaigned for Natural England to revoke general licences needed to kill 16 species of “pest birds”, has condemned the “ghastly action” after he spotted two animals hung up on his vandalised gate, but the 57-year-old presenter admitted it shows “progress” is being made.
He told The Sun newspaper: “In a sad and perverse way this ghastly action indicates I’m making progress. I’ve always said I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to make a difference.”
Chris revealed on Twitter that he has notified both the police and his own lawyers, and he called on several organisations to clarify whether or not they “condone” what has happened.
The Natural England decision has drawn the ire of some farmers, with the Countryside Alliance branding the move “completely impractical and irresponsible”.
Chief executive Tim Bonner added: “To withdraw the historic ability to manage these species without individual licences at 36 hours’ notice is a recipe for disaster.”
This comes after Chris blasted Simon Cowell this week for his Antarctica Barclaycard advert, which has been criticised for funding fossil fuel extraction.
Chris said: “I am very surprised Simon didn’t solicit better advice about this and how it would understandably enrage and disappoint those hoping that high-profile public figures would get on board with the message about addressing climate change.”

Richard Bacon’s sizzling Good Morning Britain stint sees him asked back

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Good Morning Britain’ bosses have asked Richard Bacon to return as a presenter.
The former ‘Blue Peter’ host filled in for Piers Morgan on the breakfast show this week, and as he said his goodbyes to fellow presenter Kate Garraway on today’s show (26.04.19), she revealed some “breaking news” that the programme’s editor wants him back.
As this morning’s show came to an end, Kate said: “Are you going to come back, Mr. Bacon? We’ve loved having you on the show.”
Richard replied: “That is a matter for the editor of ‘Good Morning Britain’, the controller of ITV.”
Kate then said: “Oh, I have breaking news. The editor says, ‘Yes, you can come back. You will be very, very, very welcome.’
And Richard added: “OK, thank you very much indeed.”
But Kate joked Richard would have to “give up the LA sunshine”.
He said: “I know, that would be an issue.
“But it has been wonderful being here, thank you for having me. It is a fantastic team and I’ve liked working with you.”
Kate replied: “I’ve loved working with you.”
The on-air revelation comes after ‘GMB’ editor Neil Thompson yesterday (25.04.19) interrupted the presenter’s interview with ‘Harry Potter’ actor Warwick Davis to give him a shaving ultimatum.
Handing him a brown envelope with ‘P45’ on, and a bottle of shaving cream and a razor, Neil said to Richard: “It is either this or this.”
Richard, who was sporting some stubble, then joked: “Let’s leave this in the air, will I take the P45?”
And he appeared clean shaven on today’s show.
Richard’s ‘GMB’ stint comes just months after he came “very close to death” last year.
The 43-year-old star spent 11 nights in a medically-induced coma while battling a potentially deadly lung infection, and later revealed that at one stage his body went blue and doctors “expected” him to meet his maker.
He said: “Coming out of the coma was the worst day of my life. Being told I needed to go into the induced coma was the most shocking moment and coming out was the worst day because you hallucinate and it takes about 14 hours to come out truly.
“I felt very bad for Rebecca. For me, I found out afterwards how close I’d come [to death]. There was one point where they had the crash equipment hovering over me, my body turned blue, there was a moment when they believed I was going to die.
“She’d been given that impression. I find out afterwards and it’s sort of a story. For her it was a phone by the bed, waiting every second waiting for that call to come in that her husband had died.
“I was very, very close to death. They went from telling me I needed to be in an induced coma to being in a coma in four minutes. They said to me afterwards, ‘It wasn’t that you might die, we expected you to die.’ I was the illest person in Lewisham hospital.”

Stormzy wants to appear on Come Dine With Me

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy would love to appear on ‘Come Dine With Me’ – even though he’s a “rubbish chef”.
The grime star is keen to be a contestant on the Channel 4 show – on which four people each host a dinner party and then score each other’s nights based on food and entertainment – but believes he wouldn’t be able to rustle up the best dishes himself.
Speaking to ‘Capital Breakfast’, he said: “Oh, do you know what I would do? ‘Come Dine with Me’… Aw yeah, I love ‘Come Dine with Me’.
“[But I’m] not a good chef at all, I’m a rubbish chef but I’m just really, like when I watch it – do you know what, I can’t lie – I’m a proper fan, like, I love my food.
“So I’ll watch ‘Come Dine with Me’ and just proper think ‘ah, I’d just love to, like, be there eating the food’. I never think about the actual cooking.”
With his lack of culinary skills, Stormzy acknowledged that he would most likely lose the contest, but he wouldn’t mind as long as he enjoyed the offerings from the other contestants.
He added: “Yeah I wouldn’t mind losing … I’d just do the free other meals and then when people come to me it’s like, ‘Guys, listen, I can’t lie, I’m just here for the meals you lot did. It’s just order some flippin’ Deliveroo or something.’ ”
Stormzy has already started to explore other projects aside from his music career, and last month it was revealed he has been cast in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s novel series ‘Noughts + Crosses’.
He said at the time: “As a die-hard fan of Malorie’s novels, being a part of this important show is a dream come true.”
Tune into Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, weekdays from 6am-10am across the UK.

Kym Marsh predicts Polly will be an actress

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh believes her daughter Polly is destined to be an actress.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who has kids David, 24, and Emilie, 22, from her previous relationship with Dave Cunliffe, and eight-year-old daughter Polly from her marriage to former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Jamie Lomas – believes her little girl will take after her thespian parents, and is glad she is “keen on acting”.
Kym, 42, said: “I had to be at Polly’s dad Jamie Lomas’s acting school, First Take School of Acting, for the kids’ acting class open day.
“I went along with Emmerdale’s Anthony Quinlan (Pete Barton) and we did a talk with the kids about how we got into the industry.
“Polly goes to the acting class as well, so she loved it that I was there.
“I think there was only really one way Polly was going to go with me and Jamie as her parents! It’s nice that she’s keen on acting.”
The former pop star spent some “quality time” with Polly and her boyfriend Scott Ratcliffe over Easter ahead of him going back to his army barracks.
She said: “Scott’s been on leave but goes back to his barracks this week. It’s been nice having Scott around for the last fortnight.
“We’ve spent some quality time together, which has been lovely.”
Kym and Scott went to Gulliver’s World – a theme park based in Warrington – with Polly but the ‘Corrie’ star didn’t go on any of the rides herself because she “hates” theme parks.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, she added: “We went to Gulliver’s World with Polly while she was off school and Scott took her on all the rides because I hate them. I just stood with the bags.”

Shila Iqbal apologises again for controversial past tweets

OHMYGOSSIP — Shila Iqbal has once again apologised for controversial tweets she posted as a teenager.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress was axed from the ITV soap – on which she portrayed Aiesha Richards – earlier this month over past tweets from 2012, and she has taken to Instagram to issue another apology for her actions.
She wrote: “I want to say I am truly sorry to anyone who I have hurt or offended with the tweets I sent as a silly, uneducated teenager. Please know I do not condone the language I used 6/7 years ago.
“Even if I was having a conversation with friends and had no malice behind the tweets, the now mature and wiser me knows that it was utterly wrong of me to do so. (sic)”
Shila, now 24, is grateful to the fans who have shown her support after she was cut from the show.
She said: “Also, thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through this difficult time. Thank you to all you wonderful strangers who have reached out and sent messages of support, it means so much. (sic)”
Her latest apology comes days after she appeared on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ to discuss the controversy with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
Shila revealed she wants to help raise awareness to the younger generation about taking a “moral responsibility” about using “language appropriately”, and insists she doesn’t use such language anymore.
She said: “I’ve grown and I’ve matured and I’ve become educated, six/ seven years later, I’m now a professional actor. I wasn’t at that time. I didn’t have the responsibilities that I do.
“I know now that young people will look up to me and what I say can influence them and I think that’s very important. I do own up to the fact I used inappropriate language. I don’t do that anymore, I don’t speak like that anymore.”
Earlier this month, a representative for ‘Emmerdale’ said: “As a consequence of historic social media posts Shila Iqbal has left her role as Aiesha Richards on ‘Emmerdale’.
“The programme took the decision not to renew her contract as soon as these posts were brought to the company’s attention.”

Chelsee Healey calls for more ‘fitties’ in Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Chelsee Healey has called for ‘Hollyoaks’ to cast “some new fit boys” for her character Goldie McQueen.
The former ‘Waterloo Road’ star cannot see her alter-ego hooking up with any of the current crop of male characters on the Channel 4 soap, so she has appealed to the show’s bosses to introduce “some new fitties” to the Chester village.
She said: “I can’t see her with anyone there at the moment. I think ‘Hollyoaks’ needs some new fitties.
“What Goldie really needs is someone who’s on her level, who she can have a laugh with.
“Someone cheeky, a bit of a charmer, but also someone she can rely on.
“So, come on ‘Hollyoaks’ – get some new fit boys in.”
The 30-year-old star admits she and Goldie are quite similar, and she particularly likes it when the “cheeky” character gets up to no good.
She said: “I love that she’s so cheeky – which I can really relate to in real life.
“We’re not all that different. I love how Goldie is always getting into mischief, and I think she’s such a funny character.
“She’s definitely very loyal, like myself, and her sons always come as her priority.”
Despite there being similarities between the pair, Chelsee has to wear a wig to portray the red-head, and is glad to take the hairpiece off at the end of a day’s filming.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “Past a certain point in the day it starts to get itchy, but I’ve gradually got used to it.
“I love it for the character – it’s just right – although I’m always glad to take it off at the end of the working day.”

Jo Joyner thanks Barbara Windsor for early EastEnders help

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Joyner has thanked Dame Barbara Windsor for taking her “under her wing” when she first joined ‘EastEnders’.
The pair bonded after they had both portrayed “naughty nurses” in previous roles – Jo in comedy-drama series ‘No Angels’, and Barbara as Nurse Sandra May in ‘Carry On Doctor’ and Nurse Susan Ball in ‘Carry On Matron’ – and she has praised the star for always being “warm and devoted” to her supporters.
She wrote on Twitter: “Barbara has given so much to us all over the years, entertaining the nation, always warm & devoted to her fans & followers. She took me under her wing when I joined EE, said we had things in common both having been ‘naughty nurses’-our chance to give back (sic)”
Jo’s final comment urged people to donate to the Dementia Revolution campaign, from Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Several ‘EastEnders’ stars, including Jo’s former on-screen husband Jake Wood – who plays Max Branning – are running the London Marathon on Sunday (28.04.19) to raise money for the cause after the 81-year-old star was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
Jake also recently thanked Barbara for taking him under her wing ahead of his “daunting” ‘EastEnders’ debut.
He said: “I remember when I started on ‘EastEnders’ 12 years ago Barbara really took me under her wing. It’s very daunting starting on a show like ‘EastEnders’.
“It’s part of British life so as an actor you’re quite nervous coming in. I’ll always remember Barbara sort of giving me lots of advice and just making sure I was comfortable really. So she’s always been a really good friend to me.”

Kristen Stewart: Charlie’s Angels reboot is ‘woke’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart says the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot is “woke”.
The 29-year-old actress will play one-third of the spy trio alongside Ella Balisnka and Naomi Scott in the reboot of the famous franchise – helmed by Elizabeth Banks – and insisted that although the remake is “grounded” the film is light-hearted and “still fun”.
She said: “At one point I think we said it was woke and grounded, and everyone was like, ‘Wait, is it still fun?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah dude, obviously, it’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’.”
Elizabeth, 45, is the first woman to direct a ‘Charlie’s Angels’ movie and will also star in the flick as Bosley, and ‘Twilight’ star Kristen has also teased that more women could appear in the film.
She added: “If you were to make that movie right now, there needs to be more than three girls. We’re all in it together.
“There’s an entire network of women across the entire world that are supporting each other. It feels really well-intentioned. And it’s funny and weird, too, so hopefully people have fun watching it.”
Kristen added that she’s pleased she didn’t injure herself while filming the stunt-filled flick, as she’s usually very accident prone.
Speaking to Variety, she said: “This is the first movie I’ve ever done that was pretty active and I did not injure myself, I usually ram my head against the entire movie and go, ‘Oh s**t, my head broke.'”
Elizabeth previously revealed that Kristen is “really funny” in the upcoming movie and shows off a side of her that “you don’t often see in movies” because she is usually cast in drama roles.
She said: “I wanted Kristen to show off a side of herself you don’t often see in her movies, she’s really funny in this.”

Seth Rogen hired Stormy Daniels to be ‘naked’ in films

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen hired porn star Stormy Daniels to be “naked” in some of his films.
The 37-year-old actor revealed that the 39-year-old adult films actress has featured in both his 2005 comedy ‘ The 40-Year-Old Virgin’ and ‘Knocked Up’ in 2007, because he knew she would have no qualms with taking her clothes off.
Speaking ‘ The Graham Norton Show’ on he said: “If you want someone to be naked in a film hire a porn star – it will be the easiest thing they did that week!”
Seth claimed that during filming in 2006, Stormy had confessed to him about sleeping with businessman – and now US president – Donald Trump, and although he “wasn’t shocked” at the time, Trump’s new position as president has made him rethink the confession.
He added: “Back then she told us she had slept with Donald Trump but hearing that a porn star had slept with him wasn’t interesting at all and we weren’t shocked because it was expected information.
“Years later it became very relevant information and I wondered if I should say something!”
The ‘Freaks and Geeks’ star also spoke about his upcoming comedy ‘Long Shot’ in which he stars alongside Charlize Theron as free-spirited journalist Fred Flarsky who embarks on a relationship with highly influential politician Charlotte Field.
Seth explained his inspiration for the character of the president – played by Bob Odenkirk – who was a successful TV actor before running for office came from former ‘Apprentice’ star Trump, and admitted that at first he felt the premise was “crazy”.
He said: “We thought hard about what he could be, and we had the idea that he would be an actor that played the president on a successful TV show and then became the president of the United States.
“We thought it was kind of crazy and then, the exact same thing happened recently in Ukraine. Just when you think you’ve outdone reality, reality comes up with something crazier than you could ever think of!”

Zac Efron wants a Greatest Showman sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Zac Efron “hopes” there’s a sequel to ‘The Greatest Showman’.
The 31-year-old actor played Phillip Carlyle, the partner of entrepreneur P. T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman) in the 2017 musical hit, and has revealed that although Hugh is busy “working on all sorts of things” at the moment, he would be on board for a follow-up film.
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ he said: “Hugh (Jackman) is working on all sorts of things including a one-man show. What’s next? I don’t know but I hope there is a sequel.”
The first film followed the creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions and Hugh previously confirmed that “work” has begun on a sequel however he is “not sure” exactly how that will pan out.
When asked about the possibility of the movie’s return he said: “The real answer is ‘could be’. I’m not sure. I’m being completely honest with you, there is talk of something going around but no one is really sure.
“I think right now there’s more emphasis being put on what will happen with it … No one is really sure right now, so that’s the honest truth.
“But I think someone is working on a treatment for something … I know they are, they’re working on a treatment for something.”
The ‘Logan’ star went on to explain that although he “would like to be part of” a possible sequel he would want another character to take the lead for the next story.
He said: “I don’t know. I would like to be part of it for sure, and I don’t know if it would be centred on my character.
“The other thing is, it did take eight years to get it made and that wasn’t all eight years of convincing people. It takes a long time to write stuff.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Richie Driss is replacing Radzi Chinyanganya as the new ‘Blue Peter’ presenter.

Richie said: “To say that becoming a ‘Blue Peter’ presenter is a dream come true doesn’t even begin to describe it. To be named presenter of the longest running children’s television programme in the world is a far bigger achievement than I ever dreamt possible.
“I cannot wait to get started and follow in the footsteps of the 60 years of iconic presenters who have worn the famous ‘Blue Peter’ badge before me. I am going to give it my all, no matter what the job throws at me.”

Matthew Peacock, Acting Editor of ‘Blue Peter’, said: “Richie really impressed us during his auditions and showed that he has plenty of ‘Blue Peter’ spirit when he came face to face with a Burmese python and took on a ninja assault course. Craig Revel Horwood tips Nicole Scherzinger to replace Darcey Bussell

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood would love to see Nicole Scherzinger replace Dame Darcey Bussell on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 54-year-old choreographer thinks the former Pussycat Dolls star – who previously appeared on ‘The X Factor’ panel – would be a “fabulous” addition and would love to see her join himself, head judge Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli on the BBC One ballroom and Latin show’s panel, after the retired ballerina announced she has quit the programme.
However, he also said he’s keen on the idea of Carlos Acosta, who bosses are said to be lining up for the job, taking over from Darcey.
Speaking to Australia’s TV Week magazine, he said: “She’d (Nicole) be fabulous.
And Anton du Beke definitely wants to do it. I’d love to see Nicole, or Carlos [Acosta].”
However, he admitted that he’s always “the last” to be told anything on the programme.
He added: “But nobody has actually expressed anything to me. And I’m generally the last to find out!”
Craig says it wouldn’t matter if the new judge “doesn’t get on with him”, because a “difference of opinion” is “rather good”.
He said: “No, of course not! But it doesn’t matter if I don’t get on with them.
“The difference of opinion is rather good, generally. For me it’s of no concern. I just hope they choose the right person and they know what they’re talking about.”
Craig revealing his preferences for his new colleague come after it was reported that Strictly’s head honchos are considering Cuban dancer Carlos – who has performed with Darcey before – for the position.
An insider said: “Carlos is a huge name in the dance world and has been on Strictly’s radar for a long time.
“Shirley Ballas’ popularity as head judge proves that audiences love genuine experts, even if they’re not a household name yet.”
But bosses might have to fork out a rumoured £400,000 – around £150,000 more than the other judges receive – for Carlos’ services.
The insider added:”Carlos is a vibrant character, full of energy, with vast experience in his field. He ticks all the boxes and has the backing of influential producers.
“If ‘Strictly’ can strike a deal, it would be an exciting prospect.”
Carlos has previously performed in Royal Ballet productions of ‘Swan Lake’, ‘Giselle’ and ‘The Nutcracker’.
