David O Russell recalls being wowed by Jennifer Lawrence

OHMYGOSSIP — David O Russell was wowed by Jennifer Lawrence’s talent when they first worked together.
The 60-year-old director joined forces with Jennifer for the first time when they made ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, and he’s admitted that he and her co-stars – who included the likes of Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver – were all blown away by her performance.
He told Vulture: “I would put it this way: She showed up and she was, like, a raw talent that had no neuroses and no self-consciousness.
“She was completely fearless. She would come into the scene like a weather system and leave me and Bob [De Niro] and Bradley [Cooper] and Jacki Weaver and Chris Tucker just kind of like, wow.”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Jennifer is set to make her long-awaited return to the movie business when she stars as a war veteran in an as-yet-untitled film.
The Oscar-winning star – who decided to take a career break in 2017 – has joined forces with acclaimed theatre director Lila Neugebauer, and will play the role of a US solider who suffers a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan.
Jennifer’s on-screen character struggles to recover from her injuries upon her return home.
The film is being produced by Oscar winner Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, with production set to begin in June in New Orleans.

Stephen Graham reveals his dyslexia struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Graham’s dyslexia is so severe he relies on his wife to select his roles.
The 45-year-old actor – who has been married to actress Hannah Walters since 2008 – asks his wife to read scripts and to decide which opportunities he should accept.
Stephen – who plays John Corbett in ‘Line of Duty’ – said: “I’m dyslexic so I struggle. My missus actually reads the script and says whether or not I’m doing it. She’s made some good choices.
“I have to read it and read it and read it, then make it look like it’s the first time I’m saying it.”
Meanwhile, Stephen previously revealed that he spoke to an Army Intelligence Officer to help with his ‘Line of Duty’ role.
The acclaimed actor explained that after speaking to writer Jed Mercurio about his character, he decided to do some research into what it would take to play an undercover police officer masquerading as a gang leader.
He shared: “Jed writes fully rounded characters, which is a gift. But we talked a lot about [Corbett’s] backstory.
“I spoke to a friend of mine who did a lot of undercover work, not as a police officer but in Army Intelligence.
“He put his life on the line. Basically, what I came away with was that being undercover is acting of the f***ing highest order.”

Ant McPartlin admits to taking naked selfies

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin has confessed to taking naked selfies.
The 43-year-old TV presenter – who is currently dating Anne-Marie Corbett – made the shock confession during a game on ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’, stunning host Stephen Mulhern with his candid response.
Stephen initially asked: “Have you ever taken a picture naked?”
And Ant – who was previously married to Lisa Armstrong – immediately replied: “Of course I have. Who hasn’t?”
The frank exchange left Stephen in a momentary state of shock, while Ant’s long-time co-star, Dec Donnelly, could be seen laughing to himself.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Alesha Dixon insisted things are “back to normal” since Ant returned to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The TV presenter took a year off work to focus on his sobriety after he was arrested for drink-driving and although his presenting partner was praised for carrying on solo, Alesha said the ‘BGT’ team are happy to have Ant back.
She said: “It was a lovely day because the family were back together, we were reunited.
“The energy was good, there was a lot of love in the room and of course we all missed him tremendously so it was like things were back to normal.
“We had the most incredible series so you’re in for a treat. We’re very lucky, the six of us have a great working relationship.
“It has been lovely to work together for so many years. When you put that missing piece of the puzzle back it makes everything brilliant.”

Joey Essex: It’s not easy being a reality TV star

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex insists it’s “not easy” being a reality TV star.
The 28-year-old TV personality – who first found fame thanks to his appearances on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – made the confession in light of the recent death of ‘Love Island’ star Mike Thalassitis, who committed suicide aged 26.
He shared: “I knew Mike well, I went to his funeral. He was a lovely boy.
“It was absolutely tragic and so sad. The pressure of being on reality TV is not easy. It can get you down.
“I got famous when I was 20 and it’s really tough. Everyone thinks they know everything about you.
“You are expressing your life to everyone. Everyone knows your full name, your previous girlfriend, who they are. It’s quite hard to know whether a girl likes you for who you are or if she genuinely likes you.
“I go out dressed like a robber, with a cap over my eyes and sunglasses on. I go to ridiculous lengths to not get spotted. I just want to live my life and be me.”
Joey also acknowledged that reality TV doesn’t always give an accurate reflection of real-life situations.
The star – who dated Sam Faiers during his time on ‘TOWIE’ – told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Reality TV fast-forwards things quite a lot. Sometimes you are not ready for it. You have to wear your heart on your sleeve.
“Lots of times relationships happened because of reality TV, and they ended as soon as the cameras were off. It’s like ‘Love Island’.
“Filming makes people make rash decisions because you think you need to make good TV.
“When we were on ‘TOWIE’ everyone had someone they had feelings for. That’s what those shows are about – relationships, you have to do it.
“Everyone in the reality TV industry feels the pressure because you have to live up to the person people see on TV. It can get you down.”

Rami Malek to play villain in Bond 25

OHMYGOSSIP — Rami Malek will star as the villain in Bond 25.
The 37-year-old actor has been confirmed to be joining the cast of the upcoming 25th instalment of the popular spy franchise, and has let slip he will be “making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride” as he confirmed he would be taking on the role of the movie’s mysterious villain.
In a video aired during the Bond 25 Live Reveal – which was hosted on social media on Thursday (25.04.19) – Rami said: “Hi everyone, this is Rami Malek and I’m not jealous one bit that you’re all in the absolutely stunning setting of Ian Fleming’s iconic Caribbean home Goldeneye, on the island of Jamaica. No, not at all. I’m stuck here in New York in production, but I am very much looking forward to joining the whole cast and crew so very soon. I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing. I can’t wait to see you all soon. Cheers!”
As of the time of writing, it’s not known who Rami’s character will be beyond his villainous intent, but he’s set for a spectacular clash with the titular suave spy, who will be played by Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as 007.
During the live reveal, other cast members confirmed for the movie included Ana De Armas – who recently starred in ‘Blade Runner’ – would be taking on the role of a Bond girl, while other newcomers included Lashanna Lynch, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah.
Returning cast include Dr Madeleine Swann, played by Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw, who plays Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Tanner, who is played by Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.
Bond 25, which is yet to have an official title, will be released in April 2020.

Cary Fukunaga: Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig is Cary Fukunaga’s favourite ever Bond actor.
The 41-year-old filmmaker is set to helm the upcoming 25th James Bond movie – currently known as just ‘Bond 25’ – and has said he’s excited to tackle the project because Daniel, who is making his fifth outing as the titular spy, is his favourite actor to have taken on the iconic role.
When asked during the ‘Bond 25 Live Reveal’ what he’ll bring to the movie, Cary said: “That’s a tough question, because again I have to sell myself right? I just think in a lot of ways, I probably can’t say this but Daniel is my favourite Bond. And I just want to continue that. I want to make sure that this run of films – which have been fantastic – have a really great next chapter, and keep upping the ante. So whoever’s next has a harder job.”
Daniel first took on Bond in 2006’s ‘Casino Royale’, when he took over from Pierce Brosnan, who made his fourth and final outing in 2002’s ‘Die Another Day’.
It is believed that ‘Bond 25’ will be Daniel’s final film as 007, although nothing has been confirmed as of the time of writing.
For Cary, the movie marks his fourth feature film as a director, after previously tackling projects including ‘Jane Eyre’ in 2011, and he’s said he’s “honoured” to be at the helm of the movie.
He said: “It’s definitely an honour to be chosen, and basically now because we’re about to start shooting I’m just chomping at the bit.”
‘Bond 25’ is set to be released in April 2020, and features a cast including Daniel, Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ana De Armas, and Ralph Fiennes.

Coronation Street’s Carla Connor has breakdown

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ character Carla Connor will be seen having to be talked down from Underworld’s roof after threatening to jump.
The Weatherfield resident – played by Alison King – has found it tough to cope after the roof of her lingerie factory caved in on several cobbles favourites, including Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia), who died as a result.
Now, it has been revealed that Carla has to be talked down from the ledge of the factory by ex-husband Peter Barlow amid a metal breakdown as she shouts it’s her “time to go”.
Carla climbs stairs to the roof of the factory after believing she’s seen her dead brother Aidan.
A soap source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “The scenes are really dramatic. When things can’t seem to get any worse for Carla, it appears they do. She’s at her lowest and climbs up the stairs after thinking she’s seen Aidan, and appears to be looking for a way out of all her troubles.
“Luckily, Peter spots her and convinces her there’s something to live for, eventually managing to talk her down. She is taken away by an ambulance and examined by mental health professionals.”
The businesswoman will end up in hospital and put on anti-psychotic drugs due to her breakdown over Rana’s death and several of the local residents being left unemployed due to the factory being closed.
A source previously said: “It all gets a bit much for Carla in the aftermath of the roof collapse and the pressure on her to keep people in jobs and the factory open. She eventually has a huge mental breakdown.”
Carla is suspected of potential wrongdoing following the terrible tragedy, but she has been leaning on on/off flame Peter (Chris Gascoyne) for support.

Jedward claim X Factor bosses are ‘desperate’ to sign them for celebrity show

OHMYGOSSIP — Jedward have claimed bosses are “desperate” to sign them up to the ‘X Factor’ all-star series.
Identical twins John and Edward Grimes say bosses on the ITV show “definitely want them” to appear on the celebrity version of the talent show, which will see the winner awarded a lucrative deal with record label Syco and the chance to bag a Christmas number one single.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, Edward said: “Well I can tell everybody that they’re trying desperately to get me and John. They’ve been emailing us.”
Whilst John added: “They definitely want us”.
Despite their offers, the 27-year-old singers aren’t interested in signing up as they feel they have “progressed” over the years and are no longer keen to “do Britney Spears or Ghostbusters”.
John continued: “I don’t want to go back and rewind what we’ve already done, we’ve progressed, we’ve got our own songs. I don’t want to go back and do Britney Spears or Ghostbusters.”
Music mogul Simon Cowell is planning to revamp the hit talent show with a star-studded line-up and is said to have set aside £3 million to attract famous faces for the show.
He is reportedly keen to sign up his ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ co-star Amanda Holden. Gemma Collins – who shot to fame on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – is currently in high demand and also thought to be wanted for the show. Soap stars, former musicians and TV presenters are expected to be approached so they can transform and reboot their careers.
Explaining why they decided to change the show around, he said: “It was no secret it was millions and millions of pounds. I am going to be really honest with you – and this is no disrespect to Robbie or anyone else who has been on the panel – my focus this year is mainly about the people who are coming on the show to compete. I’m probably talking myself out of a job here, but I think there has been so much emphasis on the judges. We’ve lost sight of the contestants.”

The Bay writer Daragh Carville wants a second season

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Bay’ writer Daragh Carville wants there to be a second series.
The mastermind behind the hit ITV show – which stars Morven Christie as DS Lisa Armstrong – is determined to bring back the drama for a second season and reinvent it with a new family.
He told Digital Spy: “I would absolutely love [another series] to happen. From the get-go, when I started working on this with [production company] Tall Story and we started to build the idea, it was always conceived as a show that could return, because it has at the heart of it a family liaison officer going into a family at a time of crisis.
“So that suggests that potentially each season could be a new crime happening to a new family, with our family liaison officer going in to explore that world. And again it’s in the lap of the audience now so whether we get a chance to do that or not – we don’t know yet – but I think we’re all really excited by the other stories we could tell in this world with these characters.”
In this series of ‘The Bay’, DS Lisa is called out on the case of two missing twins.
And the writer wants to bring back the 37-year-old actress for season 2 because he thinks more can be explored with her character.
He added: “The fact that we’ve got the family of the victim, and Lisa’s family, and the police – if we are lucky enough to get another series, then those are roles we will continue to explore. But there will be new families, and new stories.”
Daragh is keen to keep the setting in Morecambe Bay in Lancashire.
He added: “Though I’ve got to say, there were days, when you were kind of soaking wet, where we would sort of talk with the cast and crew – ‘maybe if we get a second series, we’ll do a different bay.'”

Isaac Hempstead Wright fears being typecast after Game of Thrones

OHMYGOSSIP — Isaac Hempstead Wright is worried he’ll be typecast after playing Bran Stark on ‘Game of Thrones’.
The hit HBO show will come to an end after eight seasons this year, and the 20-year-old actor admitted he’ll “take his time” when considering his next role as he wants to be cast for his acting skills rather than the “association” to his character.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “You’ve got to take your time. A lot of the actors on this show, it was the first time our faces were seen on-screen, so there’s even more of a connection, and an association, with these characters specifically, rather than with us as actors. So it’s a key time now.”
Isaac went on to explain that although he’s carefully considering his next move, he’s “thrilled” to have been part of the programme and thinks there are “worse things” to follow you around.
He added: “There are worse things to follow you round for the rest of your life. It’s not like we’re part of something awful! People love it, and are thrilled when they hear you were part of it.”
The star previously spoke of Bran’s transition from a timid child to the omniscient Three-Eyed Raven and described it as one of the “most extraordinary” character arcs of the whole show.
He said: “I’d say that there’s a very small sliver of Bran left in the Three-Eyed Raven, but it just makes up a very small part of who he is. That’s something that’s so exciting – especially as you watch what happens with Bran in season eight. It’s so cool to look back at season one, and to see his whole character arc – I think it’s been one of the most extraordinary of the whole series.”

Victoria Derbyshire weds

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Derbyshire has got married.
The 50-year-old broadcaster secretly wed Mark Sandell – the father of her two sons Oliver, 14, and 12-year-old Joe – in a low-key ceremony in front of family and friends at their home in Surrey last autumn, The Sun newspaper reports.
Victoria proposed to Mark the day after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
Speaking in 2017, she recalled: “My first official day of living with cancer was August 1, 2015.
“So I got up and went downstairs and announced to Mark that we had been together for 15 years and we should get married. He’s been married before and he said with a straight face, ‘I think marriage is overrated to be honest.’
“It completely broke the tension and yeah, one day we will get married, but I’m not telling you when.”
Victoria, who was given the all-clear last year, previously admitted to writing goodbye letters to her sons the night before she underwent a mastectomy.
She said: “It was life-saving surgery. I had a fear about the anaesthetic, rather than getting rid of a breast. That was fine, it had cancer in there, get rid of it. I just worried, what if I don’t wake up?
“I know that was irrational – that was the anxiety in the run up to the operation.
“The only way I could get to sleep the night before was to write two letters – one to Oliver who is my oldest son, who was 11 at the time, and one to Joe, who was eight at the time, just to tell them – I’m going to cry, sorry – just to tell them how much I love them and remind them of funny things they’d done throughout their life.
“Remind them a bit about how they were born – because Oliver took ages to come out, Joe was out in two hours… they love those stories.
“Just remind them to be polite when they grow up and have manners.”

James Bond will always be male

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bond producers have insisted the spy will always be male.
Daniel Craig is preparing to leave the iconic role after the upcoming 25th movie in the series, sparking speculation the next incantation of the suave spy could be played by a female actress, but Barbara Broccoli would rather make “interesting” new roles for women than rewrite a well-established character for the sake of some “stunt casting”.
She said: “My response to Bond being played by a woman is, well, he was written as a man.
“What we should be doing is creating interesting stories for women, and not just turning men into women; or women into men.
“I’m very much interested in making films about women, created for women; and not doing some sort of stunt casting by turning Bond into a woman.”
And Barbara insisted Bond’s masculinity is at the heart of the character.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “He’s a real man, who loved life and women and indulged in good food, and had to rise to the occasion when necessary.”
Her co-producer and half-brother Michael G. Wilson added: “That’s the kind of character he is.”
While she’s ruled out a female Bond, Barbara insists she wouldn’t exclude a black actor from the role.
Asked about the possibility, she said: “It would be wide open. Everyone went hysterical when Daniel was cast — because he’s blond, would you believe!”
In the wake of the #MeToo movement, the producers admitted it will have an “influence” on the next Bond film, but Barbara doesn’t feel they will need to do much differently because they have “embraced” equality in “many” of the movies.
She said: “Me Too has influenced our culture, which is a great thing, so of course it’s going to influence everything we do on Bond.
“[The series has] has been embracing Me Too for many Bond films. I don’t think that any of our films would not be acceptable — certainly since Daniel [Craig] started.
“Over the years, attitudes have changed, and so have the Bond films. The films are representative of the times they’re in.”

Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins thriller Kate

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed up to new thriller ‘Kate’.
The 34-year-old actress has joined the cast of the movie, which will see a female assassin go on a manhunt on the streets of Tokyo after she is poisoned and given just 24 hours to live, sources told Variety.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will direct the motion picture, and Umair Aleem will pen the script.
Production on ‘Kate’ is expected to begin this year, and the film will be produced by Bryan Unkeless, Kelly McCormick, and Patrick Newall, while David Leitch and Scott Morgan will serve as executive producers.
Reports of the casting come two years after Netflix secured the movie rights following a hotly-contested bidding war.
The new movie looks to be perfect timing for Winstead as filming recently wrapped on her hotly-anticipated film ‘Birds of Prey’.
Margot Robbie, who will reprise her ‘Suicide Squad’ role as Harley Quinn in the film, announced earlier this month that scene shooting had ended on the project.
Revealing a new image of her character Harley Quinn sat on a chair emblazoned with the film’s possible logo, she added the caption: “That’s a wrap!”
‘Birds of Prey’ is expected to be very different from other movies in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
It is reportedly aiming for an R-rating, making it less child-friendly than previous movies.
The film will be set in superhero Batman’s hometown of Gotham City, but the caped crusader isn’t expected to make an appearance.
Winstead will portray Helena Bertinelli / Huntress, the vigilante daughter of mafia gangster Franco Bertinelli.

Geri Horner to be ‘guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner has signed up to be a guest judge on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’.
The Spice Girls singer is one of a number of stars, including her bandmate Emma Bunton, who have agreed to take part in the BBC Three show later this year, and she is tipped to be a “perfect fit” for the panel thanks to her “funny and fearless” nature.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Geri is the perfect fit for Drag Race because she’s funny and fearless. Plus she knows exactly what she’s talking about.
“When Geri takes part she’ll be faced with a couple of wannabe acts and maybe a Spice Girls hit or two.”
Lorraine Kelly is also expected to be a guest judge on the show, as is Cheryl.
The 35-year-old singer is said to have filmed an episode of the upcoming reality contest alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage, and one of the rotating residents, Alan Carr and Graham Norton.
The former Girls Aloud star gave her verdict after the contestants performed one of her biggest solo singles.
A source said: “Girls Aloud have had a massive impact on pop culture in the UK so telly bosses were desperate to get Cheryl involved.
“She jumped at the chance and recently visited the set to film as a guest judge.
“Cheryl gave her comments on contestants who performed a lip-sync to her 2012 number one single ‘Call My Name’. Viewers will love it.”
Graham recently said he was “ridiculously happy” to have signed up for the UK show.
He said: “Becoming part of the drag race family makes me ridiculously happy! I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk.”
Alan added: “Wow! To be sat next to Michelle Visage and Mama Ru as a guest judge on possibly one of my all-time favourite shows ever is a dream come true.
“I can’t wait to see what the UK Queens have got in store – it’s going to be sickening.”

EastEnders’ Max Branning to return in May

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Max Branning will return to Walford early next month.
The BBC One soap have confirmed Jake Wood’s hard-man alter-ego – who hasn’t been seen on screen since February – will be back in Albert Square in the week commencing May 6th.
According to early episode guidelines, Max will have to “try to put things right” with wife Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) in an episode on Thursday May 9th, but things don’t appear to go well for the pair as the next day “all hell breaks loose” for the unconventional couple.
Jake has been away from ‘EastEnders’ after taking a scheduled break to go on tour with his boxing podcast ‘Pound for Pound’, which he hosts alongside former pro fighter Spencer Oliver.
As well as the podcast tour, the 46-year-old star has also been busy training for Sunday’s (28.04.19) London Marathon, which he is running as part of the team Barbara’s Revolutionaries, for his former ‘EastEnders’ co-star Dame Barbara Windsor, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
The team is also made up of Walford regulars Tanya, Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler), and Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), and Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell, and they are taking on the challenge in aid of the Dementia Revolution campaign from Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Speaking on ‘The One Show’ last night (25.04.19), Jake said: “I think this week is rest week.
“But what is really remarkable is Scott has never run before.”
Scott added: “I’ve never been a runner. I started this kind of running in mid-October and I ran a mile and I stopped, feeling really sick and huffing and puffing and said, ‘I can’t do this. Why on earth did I say I could do this?’
“My last long run was 18 miles.”

Rachel Adedeji wants to open a charity to help kids in Nigeria

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Adedeji would open a charity if she had the money.
The 27-year-old actress – who plays Lisa Loveday on the Channel 4 soap ‘Hollyoaks’ – revealed that if she won the lottery she would start an organisation which aids children in need in Nigeria, which is where her parents are from.
Speaking in Closer magazine, she said: “If I won the lottery I would open a charity. My parents are from Nigeria and so it would be amazing to help underprivileged kids there.”
The former ‘X Factor’ star also admitted that she’d treat herself to a designer bag and holiday, as well as buying her parents a new home.
She added: “I’d also book a beautiful holiday to the Maldives with my family and treat my parents to a big house. I’m a sucker for designer handbags, so maybe I’d splurge on a Louis Vuitton bag for myself too. ”
Although Rachel – who has daughter Lillian with her husband Jason Finegan – would indulge in a luxury holiday to the Maldives, she confessed she’s not adverse to a cheaper break and loves flying on budget airlines to visit her European friends.
She said: “I mix budget and blow-the budget-breaks. My husband and I have quite a lot of friends in Europe, so we’ll often visit them in places like Holland or Germany, and you can get such cheap easyJet flights. ”
However, the soap star added she does “love” a more expensive getaway such as Bali or Los Angeles.
She said: “That said, I do love a luxury holiday – we went to Bali for our honeymoon, but we felt that was so worth it because it was a special occasion. We’re also going to LA this summer.”
