OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Faulkner won’t let John Torode cook on their wedding day.
The loved up couple – who co-star ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’ – both love their food, but the bride-to-be wants to make sure her man doesn’t end up working during their upcoming nuptials.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday (02.05.19), she said: “I think I will have to be making sure that he has not gone off to the kitchen to check on stuff.
“He did say, ‘The night before, I think I will cook this,’ and I was like, ‘You are not cooking anything!’ ”
However, the pair are moving along nicely with plans for their special day, and John revealed they have given the food a lot of thought.
He added: “This goes back to the whole premise of the show, what we do at home is really what everybody likes to eat… It will be pretty simple, done nicely and hopefully make everybody smile and not be nervous.”
Meanwhile, the happy couple also shed some more light on their engagement after John deliberately timed his Christmas Day (25.12.18) proposal to make sure the special moment was just between the two of them.
He explained: “It was Christmas Day. I did it four hours early, we were away and I did it on purpose because of the time difference so she couldn’t talk to anybody. I had her to myself for four hours.”
Lisa admitted: “It was horrific. I just wanted to call my sister. I wanted to tell her and I couldn’t tell anybody. I was like, ‘What time do you think I can call her, 6.30?’ ”
The couple pair first met on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ and she previously stated that she likes to keep their romance low-key.
Lisa said: “Our relationship is as quiet and private as it can be when you both work in television.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin’ is returning as a stage musical.
Writers Jonathan Coe and David Quantick are reviving the classic 1970s BBC comedy, which was based on author David Nobb’s novels and starred Leonard Rossiter.
Composer Mike Batt – who is best known for writing for ‘The Wombles’ – has penned all of the songs for the production, and gushed that he was “chuffed” to have been asked to participate in the show.
He tweeted: “Chuffed to have been asked to write all the songs for @jonathancoe and @quantick ‘s musical of ‘The Fall and Rise Of Reginald Perrin’ which we finished writing recently.
“It’s DEAD funny! I didn’t get where I am today by turning an opportunity like THAT down!”
Writer Jonathan – who has penned novels such as ‘A Touch of Love’ and ‘The Rotter’s Club’ – also said he and his colleague have looked to give the classic story more emotional range and depth so it is more than just a stage comedy.
He added on social media: “Mike has written some incredible songs for this. David and I have gone back to the books (it’s an adaptation of the first two) and tried to capture their full emotional range, not just the comedy.”
The classic show featured Leonard as the titular character who goes through a mid-life crisis and fakes his own death, returning to his new life in disguise to find that nothing has changed.
In 2009, the tale made a comeback when David reunited with ‘Men Behaving Badly’ writer Simon Nye to for a revamped sitcom, with Martin Clunes in the title role.
The show ran for two seasons before it was cancelled and Martin revealed he was so disappointed by the decision he thought maybe he would swear off sitcoms forever.
He previously said: “I did ‘Reggie Perrin’, which I really enjoyed, but it didn’t go down well and the BBC dropped it, so I thought maybe that’s enough.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Cold Feet’ star Ruth Madeley wants to make the entertainment industry “more inclusive” for people with disabilities.
The 31-year-old actress suffers from Spina Bifida – which is caused when a baby’s spine and spinal cord don’t develop properly in the womb, causing a gap in the spine which can lead to movement problems – and hopes that her career can help make the path a “little less rocky” for disabled actors who come after her.
When asked what she would most like to be remembered for,she told Stylist magazine: “For helping to make the entertainment industry more inclusive for people with disabilities – I have Spina Bifida. I hope I’ve made the journey for people coming after me a little less rocky.”
Ruth is known for her roles as Tracey McHarrie, a disabled woman who gets fired, in season seven of the ITV comedy-drama, as well as the lead role of Anna in BBC’s award-winning factual drama ‘Don’t Take My Baby’ – which earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress.
The TV star went on to explain that she feels “everything happens for a reason” however still feels individuals are accountable for their own decisions and lives.
When asked whether she’s fatalistic, she added: “Yes, I believe that everything happens for a reason, but that we also have a responsibility to make the best out of every situation we’re in.”
As for her biggest fear, Ruth claimed that “being the same” as other people terrifies her and explained that she was always encouraged to be her own person.
She said: “Being the same as everybody else. Growing up I was never like anybody else, so it has been instilled in me that being different is something to keep pushing for.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Hill has joined forces with the Beano to find the UK’s funniest primary school class.
The ‘TV Burp’ star has been announced as a special guest judge in the iconic British comic’s nationwide search which will see teachers up and down the country nominations their class’ best jokes and pranks in a bid to be crowned the winner.
Harry said “This competition is an incredible opportunity for British kids to release their inner-comedian and let loose their imaginations.
“It’s a great way for kids to show they know best when it comes to telling rib-tickling jokes and show the adults how it’s done.”
Primary schools can submit the jokes online before the May 10 deadline, and the top 10 jokes – chosen by the 54-year-old comedian and a team of the Beano’s best gag makers – will appear on the publication’s website with kids voting for their favourite.
The winner and two runners-up will each get a bundle of Beano annuals comic subscriptions and a special VIP Beano visit, including a joke workshop.
Mike Stirling, Editorial Director at Beano Studios said: “At Beano we’ve been giggling with kids for 80 years and we are on a mission to spread their much needed humour across the UK.
“Jokes are meant to be silly, naughty and imaginative; they are also the perfect way of injecting some much needed LOLZ into the classroom whilst encouraging kids to develop their literacy skills.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr thought he was “a shoo-in” to play Sir Elton John.
The former ‘Chatty Man’ host has said he “even did piano lessons” in a bid to land the lead role in the ‘Rocketman’ biopic, but even after missing out on the part he’s still looking forward to the movie.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “As you may or may not know, I was seagull number one in the ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ movie, just in the UK and Ireland.
“Hollywood knows I exist so if they call, then Hollywood calls. People joke about this, but speaking genuinely, I thought I would get the Elton John biopic.
“I genuinely did, I even did piano lessons. I thought I was a shoo-in. I thought, ‘I’m fat, gay, camp, dubious hair’. I thought I’d get it but Taron Egerton, well I’m looking forward to that.”
Meanwhile Alan, 42, will be teaming up with fellow comedian Micky Flanagan and actor Michael Sheen for upcoming new Sky show ‘There’s Something About Movies’, and he’s excited for the project.
He added: “It is like a panel show, but not really. It’s a unique panel show, we have actual Hollywood actors so it’s not just comedians giving their best jokes.
“It’s a good mix, we’ve had Rupert Everett, Jason Isaacs, Matthew Broderick. We’ve filmed half of them already so I can hold my head up high because sometimes you can promote shows and you haven’t filmed them yet, and you go, ‘Oh please don’t be s**t’.
“It’s got so much energy but there never really is a dull moment, I know everyone says that but it really is good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Waller-Bridge is taking ‘Fleabag’ back on stage.
The 33-year-old actress and writer – best known for creating and starring in the play which inspired her BBC Three sitcom – is bringing back the hit show for a final run on the West End.
The popular production will soon be in theatres for a limited run, and it will be the last time fans can see the comedienne in the beloved title role.
The play has just finished a sold-out run off-Broadway in New York at the Soho Playhouse, and the second season which recently aired on BBC Three has been well received.
The tragi-comedy follows how Fleabag – who is sexually liberated and emotionally cold – navigates through life in London.
In the television series, Phoebe stars as a troubled young woman alongside Olivia Colman, Andrew Scott, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Fiona Shaw.
Now, the upcoming stage production will show at the Wyndham’s Theatre in London for a four-week run from 20th August to the 14th September.
‘Fleabag’ tickets will go on sale from 3pm on Thursday 2nd May 2019.
Meanwhile, the brunette – who is also famed for producing and writing ‘Killing Eve’ – is busy working on the script for Bond 25 after being drafted in to help with the script for the upcoming Bond movie at the special request of Daniel Craig himself.
The 51-year-old actor reportedly asked for the hilarious writer to be a part of the team after being impressed by her work on the small screen.
Whilst in the United States, Phoebe met with Craig to discuss the script, which he felt needed some “polishing” by injecting more humour into the script with her offbeat style of writing.

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron says the sex scene in ‘Long Shot’ is short because she was “tired that day”.
The 43-year-old actress plays Charlotte Fields in the comedy, the US Secretary of State and presidential candidate who embarks on an unlikely relationship journalist Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) who she used to babysit.
One sex scene in the movie shows both characters climax in a matter of 10 seconds and the ‘Monster’ star has now revealed that she “went for comfort” during shooting and didn’t feel like “doing all the work” that comes with filming a long sex scene.
Speaking to Vulture at a screening of the film in New York, Charlize said: “I’m gonna be honest with you. I was tired that day. I didn’t wanna do all the work. I went for comfort!”
Seth added: “Which is a lot like real sex!”
The scene has drawn criticism since it premiered at South by Southwest, with Mashable’s Angie Han commenting that the film lacked realism regarding women’s sexuality.
Seth previously responded to this criticism on Twitter, explaining that it was actually the ‘Atomic Blonde’ star’s idea to make the scene so swift and admitted he too had initially expressed doubt.
He wrote: “Believe me, I had my doubts and Charlize demanded it was possible much to the shock of myself and director. We went with her suggestion.”
Charlize previously praised her co-star Seth insisting she has always been a “fan” of the 38-year-old actor and all his movies so was delighted to work with him in the comedy.
She said: “I’ve been a sincere, down to the core of my body, fan of Seth Rogen’s. I have watched everything that he’s touched and never in a million years did I think I would be in a movie with him, so I am hashtag blessed.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Regina King has signed a first-look deal with Netflix.
The 48-year-old actress and director has agreed to a multi-year contract which will see her Royal Ties production company produce films and series for the streaming service with her sister, Reina King, serving as head of production.
The ‘If Beal Street Could Talk’ star previously had a production deal at ABC and collaborated with Netflix on the crime drama series ‘Seven Seconds’ which had a one-season run on the platform in 2018.
In a statement, Regina said: “I am beyond thrilled to join the Netflix family. They are at the top of their game and as an artist, I am so excited to come play in this wonderful sandbox they have created for storytellers.”
Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, said: “Regina King is a multi-faceted talent both behind and in front of the camera. She’s been a trailblazer for years, with boundless creativity and impeccable taste in projects, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that she will bring her formidable talents to Netflix.”
Regina has done her fair share of TV directing, helming episodes of ‘This is Us’ as well as ‘The Good Doctor’ while she recently won her third Emmy for her role as Latrice Butler in ‘Seven Seconds’ and an Oscar for her role as Sharon Rivers in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’.
The award-winning drama – based on James Baldwin’s novel of the same name – followed the daughter of Regina’s character, pregnant Tish, (KiKi Layne) in New York City in the early 70s whose boyfriend Fonny (Stephan James) is jailed for a crime he didn’t commit.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Centineo has confirmed he is to play He-Man.
The 22-year-old actor – who rose to fame playing Peter Kavinsky in Netflix’s ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ – has announced he will star in Sony Pictures and Mattel Films’ upcoming live-action reboot of the ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ 1980s toy line and cartoon series.
When asked ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’ whether he’ll be taking on the iconic role, he said: Yeah, yeah.”
The ‘Perfect Date’ star then joked: “I have an affinity for being in my underwear. I don’t know what it is. I’m very excited, it’s quite an opportunity.”
The cartoon was previously brought to the big screen in 1987 as a live-action movie with Dolph Lundgren playing He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
A young Courteney Cox also earned just her second film credit playing the character Julie Winston who aides He-Man in his quest to save Earth from the invading Skeletor.
The upcoming film will be helmed by Aaron and Adam Nee, while Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, penned the script after taking over from David S. Goyer.
Plot details are as-yet unknown but the original animated series focused on Prince Adam who lives on the planet Eternia and can use his Sword of Power to turn into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, by uttering the words “By the Power of Grayskull!”
He-Man must use powers to defend Eternia from the evil Skeletor whose goal is to conquer the mysterious fortress of Castle Grayskull, from which He-Man draws his strength, so he can rule Eternia and the rest of the universe.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Line of Duty’ is the UK’s most watched programme of the year.
The fifth season of the hit BBC drama has continued to prove very popular with fans and the first episode of the latest series currently stands as the most watched of 2019 so far with an audience of 13.2 million viewers, according to 28-day four-screen data.
The first four episodes have pulled in a larger audience than any other show on British television this year, with an average of 10.6 million viewers in seven-day four-screen consolidated figures.
Showrunner Jed Mercurio said: “We’re thrilled and flattered by the amazing response to this series of ‘Line of Duty’.
“On behalf of the whole production, I want to thank our viewers for their fantastic loyalty, and World Productions and the BBC for their unstinting support.”
Meanwhile, executive producer Simon Heath has heaped praise on Jed and the cast – which includes the likes of Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings), Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming) and Martin Compston (DS Steve Arnott) – for the huge success the show has enjoyed to date.
He added: “It’s testament to Jed’s brilliant writing and the best cast on British TV that the audience for ‘Line of Duty’ has grown bigger with every series.
“A huge thanks to the BBC who took a chance on a small show in Birmingham back in 2011 and to everyone who’s supported us since.”
A sixth series of the show has already been confirmed by the Beeb, and boss Jed is keen for the programme to go even further
He previously said: “We’re looking forward to a conversation with the BBC once series five has aired … about whether there is an appetite from fans to have more, or whether there’s a feeling the show is coming towards its natural arc.
“That conversation will be very specific, which is whether series six will be the last, or whether the BBC would be prepared to commission a seventh so we can approach series six knowing it’s not the last.”
The current series concludes with a feature-length finale on Sunday night (05.05.19) at 9pm.

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Dern says she’s open to appearing in ‘Jurassic World 3’.
The 52-year-old actress admits she “could never say no” to reprising her role as Dr. Ellie Satler from the original 1993 movie ‘Jurassic Park’ in the third ‘Jurassic World’ sequel, although she has “no idea” what bosses are “cooking up” for the upcoming sixth instalment of the dinosaur franchise.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she said: “I don’t know, I have no idea actually. I mean, I love Dr. Ellie Satler so I could never say no to that on any level. But I really don’t know. I don’t even know what they’re cooking up yet.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star went on to explain that she only just recently met ‘Jurassic World’ leading man Chris Pratt, 39, however, the pair immediately bonded and Laura insisted the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star was “fantastic and hilarious.”
She said: “I met Chris recently at a restaurant and we didn’t know each other. It was really funny; we ran into each other’s arms and hugged each other like we were family, because we’re both in the same movie [franchise.] He just seemed fantastic and hilarious.”
Jeff Goldblum – who reprised his role as chaos theorist Dr Ian Malcolm in the fifth film in the series ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ – previously hinted that Laura could be making a cameo in the forthcoming flick.
He said “I don’t want to pass on gossip like my character, but it would be good news to me and to everyone, [to] millions and billions of people all over the world… all over the universe and cosmos when Ellie Sattler returns.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Fallon has quit ‘Coronation Street’.
The 23-year-old actress has played Bethany Platt on the ITV soap since 2015, but will be departing the show when her contract ends in 2020 in order to “pursue other projects”.
Producer Iain Macleod told The Sun Online: “Lucy advised us at the start of this year that she would like to leave at the end of her current contract in 2020 to pursue other projects.
“She is an amazing performer and has been at the centre of some huge stories for us during her time on the show. I have no doubt that her stellar career will continue beyond the cobbles and would like to wish her all the best in whatever she does next – starting with the brilliant final chapter of Bethany’s story!”
Whilst a source added to the publication: “Lucy’s been in Corrie just under five years and feels now is the right time to try new things. Everything is amicable and there isn’t any anger there. Bosses are keen to leave the role of Bethany open in case Lucy does want to return in the future.”
Since arriving on the cobbles four years ago, Lucy’s character Bethany has been involved in a number of dramatic storylines, including a sexual abuse plot which saw her bag the Serial Drama Performance prize at the 2018 National Television Awards.
Lucy has also won the Best Actress prizes at the Inside Soap Awards in 2017 and British Soap Awards in 2018.
Meanwhile, the star recently claimed she was going to quit acting to become a midwife before landing her role in the soap when somebody “forced” her to audition.
She said: “I was going to pack it all in to become a midwife, but somebody forced me to audition.
“Four years later, I’ve learned so much and I’m not in debt.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Fallon decided in August she wanted to leave ‘Coronation Street’.
The 23-year-old actress has confirmed she will depart her role as Bethany Platt – who she has played since 2015 – at the end of her contract in 2020, and admits she didn’t make the choice “lightly”.
She wrote on Twitter: “Just to clarify, my decision to leave was made in August last year and has nothing to do with ANYONE at Coronation Street. I didn’t make it lightly and I am going to miss every single person there. Excited for my final year at the best place! Woo (sic)”
Lucy admitted it was an “extremely difficult” decision to quit the show, and she thanked executive producer Iain MacLeod and “everyone at ‘Coronation Street'” for their support.
She tweeted: “Would’ve liked the chance to announce this in my own time lol… however, after the most incredible 4 years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.
It’s hard to put into words how much this show means to me. I’ve made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I’ve had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I’ve laughed with the best people everyday. I’m so thankful to Iain and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly. Thank you so much for your support and love… can’t wait to see what’s in store for Bethany this year. (sic)”
Lucy is heading on holiday on Saturday (04.05.19) and admits she “needs” a break at the moment.
She wrote: “Off on holiday on Saturday with some of my fave kidz. SUN N DAIQUIRIS is what I need right now #letsgochamp x (sic)”
Lucy’s decision comes after Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) and Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) all recently announced they are leaving the soap.

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Brookes quit ‘Coronation Street’ to concentrate on her relationship with fiance Gareth Gates.
The 31-year-old actress confirmed earlier this week she is leaving the ITV soap, and she is said to be “determined” to make her and the pop star’s upcoming marriage work.
A TV insider told The Sun Online: “Kate has loved every minute on ‘Corrie’ but she is completely committed to Gareth and making their marriage work.
“She nearly lost him once when they split up so she’s determined to make it work this time but it’s really hard with her filming schedule and their academy.”
Faye – Kate Connor on the cobbles – and Gareth got engaged in January after reuniting following a brief split in September, and she is keen to join him on more trips overseas.
The source added: “Gareth travels a lot for work so she wants to be able to go with him and see more of the world.
“They’re also looking to the future and starting a family, which would be tricky when she’s still on the show.”
Faye – who also runs performing arts school Fates Academy with Gareth – took to Twitter this week to confirm she is leaving the cobbles, admitting her character “needs a break for a little while”.
She wrote: “Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it’s time for me to explore new opportunities, I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new. (sic)”
Faye’s decision comes just two months after her on-screen fiancée Rana Habeeb, played by Bhavna Limbachia, was killed off in a tragic factory roof collapse storyline on her and Kate’s wedding day.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ contestants will have to pass new mental health and STI tests to be accepted on this year’s series.
Ahead of appearing on the ITV2 show this summer, the stars are expected to undergo “several rounds of medical tests”, including some for sexual transmitted infections, and they will reportedly attend “advance sessions with counsellors and psychologists” to ensure they can handle the upcoming fame.
A source said: “Bosses want stars to be safe mentally and physically. Their biggest nightmare would be someone contracting an STI, so potential contestants must have several rounds of medical tests.
“Advance sessions with counsellors and psychologists have been ramped up to ensure that everyone can handle the fame.”
Show bosses are said to be prepared to axe potential contestants if they show “any hint of mental instability”.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “They are prepared to cut potentially strong personalities from the line-up if there is any hint of mental instability.”
In March, Richard Cowles, creative director of ITV Studios, admitted contestants on the ITV2 dating show will receive more support and ITV will be “proactively checking in” with former ‘Love Island’ stars “on a regular basis”.
He wrote: “When something so awful happens we naturally enter a period of soul searching and ask whether anything could have been done. This review has led us to extend our support processes to offer therapy to all Islanders and not only those that reach out to us. And we will be delivering bespoke training to all future Islanders to include social media and financial management. The key focus will be for us to no longer be reliant on the Islanders asking us for support but for us to proactively check in with them on a regular basis … We work with an independent GP and a psychological consultant to provide an assessment of the physical and mental health of each of the shortlisted cast members and their suitability for inclusion.”
While Richard made the announcement just days after former ‘Love Island’ contestant Mike Thalassitis was found dead aged 26, ITV’s chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall later insisted it would be “extremely tenuous” to link the show to his passing.
She said: “I don’t think anybody has made a direct link between what happened to Mike and ‘Love Island’ and that is very important to say.
“It would be an extremely tenuous thing to do given he was very happy on ‘Love Island’ and all of his mates have actually said that, and he has done two other reality TV shows in the two-year gap.
“We can do everything we possibly can to look after people and to do our duty of care but you can’t do that forever with an individual.
“There has got to be a framework and it will come to an end. It can’t be indefinite.”
What’s more, former ‘Love Island’ star Sophie Gradon died by suicide in 2018 aged 32.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Bay’ has been recommissioned for a second series.
The ITV drama will begin filming later this year and while casting details are to be announced nearer the time, Morven Christie looks set to return as DS Lisa Armstrong.
ITV’s head of drama Polly Hill said: “I am delighted with the audience response to ‘The Bay’.
“It’s very real and beautifully made by everyone involved, and as a result it held an audience of seven million across six weeks.
“I think that audience will enjoy seeing where Daragh takes Lisa and the team, when they return with a new case for series two next year.”
The Morecambe-based drama, which was written by Daragh Carville, came to a thrilling conclusion last month.
Executive producer Catherine Oldfield said: “We are so thrilled that The Bay found such a large audience and that the fantastic world and characters brought to life by Daragh Carville will be returning to ITV.
“It was an incredible production, shot in a beautiful location and thanks to ITV’s belief in the story we wanted to tell, we get to do it all over again.”
Other cast members included Daniel Ryan as DI Tony Manning, and Chanel Cresswell as Jess Meredith.
Following the finale, Chanel admitted it had been “a joy” but also “slightly difficult at times” to play Jess, whose son Dylan Meredith (Noah Valentine) was found dead.
She wrote on Instagram: “It’s been a pleasure and a joy to work with an amazing bunch of ferociously talented people ! Tonight is a Tv wrap on Jess a pleasure to play and I won’t lie slightly difficult at times but boy was it worth the ride! All the love and wonderful messages I have had … I thank you massively! Lots and Lots of love to you all (sic)”
