Richard Madden teases Bodyguard season two set two years in future

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Madden says the second season of ‘Bodyguard’ could be set up to two years in the future.
The 32-year-old actor – who played war veteran PS David Budd alongside Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) in the BBC One drama – revealed that he and the show’s creator Jed Mercurio decided to hold off on another series of the show as his character “definitely needs a vacation”.
Speaking at an event in LA organised by Netflix, he said: “We’ve been talking about it and I spoke to Jed about a month after the show had finished airing over in the UK and we sat and decided let’s give it at least a year while we work out how to do something better.
“A couple of things. You cannot jump into it. David Budd definitely needs a vacation after that. He’s not going to go back to work, is he?
“And also he’s the most famous man in London because of what happens at the end of episode six. He couldn’t just go straight back into work.
“And me and Jed both agree that there’s something much more interesting in, ‘Let’s catch up with him 18 months later, two years later after this has happened and say where is he now? What’s happened to him?’ ”
Richard – whose character was last seen in the season finale of the show seen walking through the streets of central London with a suicide bomb strapped to his chest – added that he can’t wait to get back in the head of his alter ego.
He said: “I’d love to get back into his head. If he didn’t have enough going on in his head already, after all this experience, throwing that on top of everything, where does that put this man in terms of his morals?”

Georgia Toffolo is backing Brexit

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Toffolo is backing Brexit even though she voted remain.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star voted against Brexit during the 2016 EU referendum insisting that she’s “very pro-immigration” and admitting she didn’t believe the rhetoric of the original leave campaign concerning migration.
However, the 34-year-old reality star feels the country is “bored and angry” that Britain is still in the EU three years after Leave claimed victory and confessed she is now a keen Brexiteer.
In an interview with the Telegraph, she said: “We need to leave, deal or no deal. The mood of the country is that we’re bored, we’re angry, we voted to leave
“And there are lots of calls for a second referendum, but if that does happen, I would be very, very upset.’
The ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ winner also explained that she isn’t a fan of Prime Minister Theresa May and feels that the position would be more suited to a “big Brexiteer”.
She said: “I was [a fan of May] while growing up because she was my grandparent’s MP and I’ve always looked at her as quite a strong woman
“But I just don’t know if she should have been chosen to lead a country that voted to leave the EU.
“It would be interesting in hindsight if a big Brexiteer would have got us a better deal and if we’d have left by now perhaps.”
As for who she wants to see take over from May – the socialite is backing Conservative politicians Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson.
She said: “I’m a slight betting woman and had money on Jeremy Hunt at the end of last year, because the odds were really good, 18-1 or something.
“I think it’ll be Hunt and Boris in the end, and as a great friend of Stanley’s I’d have to put my backing behind Boris.”

Fired Danny Baker says he’s ‘paying the price’ for royal baby joke

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Baker says he is “paying the price” for his “genuine, naive and catastrophic mistake” after he was fired by the BBC over his controversial Twitter joke about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new baby.
In a now deleted tweet, the 61-year-old broadcaster shared a photo of a couple holding hands with a chimpanzee wearing clothes with the caption “Royal Baby leaves hospital”, and many users accused the former Radio 5 Live presenter of mocking Duchess Meghan’s racial heritage.
Following the immediate backlash, Danny tweeted an apology after deleting the offending post and said the offensive meaning behind it “never occurred” to him.
The broadcaster has now “formally apologised” in a string of tweets and attempted to explain his “awful gaffe” admitting that he “f****d up” and is “not feeling sorry for [himself]”.
He wrote: “Following one of the worst days of my life I just want to formally apologise for the outrage I caused and explain how I got myself into this mess.
“I chose the wrong photo to illustrate a joke. Disastrously so. (sic)”
Danny continued: “Deleting it immediately and apologising for the awful gaffe I even foolishly tried to make light of it. (My situation that is, not the racism involved.) Too late and here I am.
“I would like once and for all to apologise to every single person who, quite naturally, took the awful connection at face value. I understand that and all of the clamour and opprobrium I have faced since. I am not feeling sorry for myself. I fucked up. Badly.
“But it was a genuine, naive and catastrophic mistake. (sic) ”
The presenter added: “The picture in context as presented was obviously shamefully racist. It was never intended so – seriously who on earth would ‘go there’?
“Anyway i am now paying the price for this crass & regrettable blunder and rightly so. (sic)”

Louis Theroux considered himself to be ‘the worst dad ever’

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux has low moments where he thinks he’s “the worst dad ever”.
The 48-year-old documentary filmmaker – who has sons Frederick, Albert and Walter with his wife Nancy Strang – says he was inspired to make his new documentary ‘Mothers on the Edge’ because he has struggled with parenting and wanted to raise awareness about mental illnesses that can occur after having a baby.
Louis appeared on ‘The Zoe Ball Show’ on Friday (10.05.19) and he spoke about his woes and said: “When we had our first baby, when I left for work I sometimes felt like I was leaving a burning building!
“It was that sort of thing, ‘get me out of here! Get me back to work where actually you can put your feet on the desk and have a coffee.’
“You’re busy but you are in sort of an organised setting where people are being polite and respectful. And then you go back home and it’s like going into a warzone. It’s just often chaotic.
“There are times as a parent where you often think ‘I must be the worst dad that ever lived. I don’t think I’m equipped to do this, perhaps we should think about passing the baby on to someone else.’ ”
And the documentary maker – who had been contemplating the subject for a long time – said he was also intrigued about learning more about struggling mothers when a work colleague told him about postpartum psychosis.
He said: “Someone at work who was having a baby, mentioned this condition postpartum psychosis which is where a new mum with no previous history of mental illness has a psychotic episode.
“I thought it was fascinating and maybe this is a way of dealing with these themes of what it is like to be a new mum or dad in an extreme setting.”

She wrote: “It hurts me to say this but me and Sam have gone our separate ways. We are still friends.”
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star started dating Sam, also 23, in October 2017 when he joined the MTV reality show after shooting to fame on that year’s series of ITV2 dating show ‘Love Island’ – where he had a brief fling with Georgia Harrison.

Last year, Chloe hinted at a break-up in a series of cryptic Twitter posts, sharing four consecutive emotionally distressed tweets about feeling “low” and needing to concentrate on herself which have led her followers to conclude she’s separated from Sam.

Freddie Starr’s estranged wife is ‘devastated’ by his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Freddie Starr’s estranged wife is “devastated” following his death.
The late comedian was found dead aged 76 at his home in the Costa Del Sol, Spain, on Thursday (09.05.19), and now his estranged wife Sophie Lea – whom he split from in 2015, but was still married to at the time of his death as they’d not gone through divorce proceedings – has said that despite their break-up, she’s still heartbroken by the news of his passing.
Sophie had previously accused Freddie of physical and verbal abuse during their marriage, but insists their “differences” are now just “water under the bridge”.
Speaking to Mail Online, Sophie – who was 39 years younger than Freddie – said: “Although we broke up a long time ago I was devastated to hear the news of Freddie’s death. We hadn’t spoken for a long time despite still being legally married after he moved to Spain. Although we had our differences that’s all water under the bridge now.”
Sophie had previously described their marriage as “hell” when she alleged he had been “abusive” toward her, but he had denied the claims.
In 2016, Freddie said: “I deny ever verbally or physically abusing her. I deny that completely.”
Meanwhile, Freddie’s showbiz pal Bobby Davro revealed on Friday (10.05.19) that he had been planning on meeting up with the late star last year, but plans had been cancelled when Freddie said he was too ill.
Bobby said: “I might have been one of the last people to speak to him.
“I went over to Spain to do a couple of gigs last year. Someone said Freddie was living in that place in Spain.
“I got in touch with him, got hold of his number and phoned him up.
“At first he didn’t really feel like talking, but then he called me back.
“He said, ‘How are you doing, Bob?’
“I said, ‘I’m alright, Freddie. Would you like to meet up for a cup of tea? I’m in town.’
“He said, ‘No … I’ve not been too well.’
“And just looking at those pictures … I want to remember the Freddie we all knew.
“Rest in peace, Freddie. He was fantastic.”

Freddie Starr’s cause of death revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Freddie Starr died from a heart attack, according to his autopsy.
The comedy legend passed away at the age of 76 while at his home in Costa Del Sol, Spain, on Thursday (09.05.19) and according to a post-mortem which was carried out at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, his cause of death was a heart attack.
A police insider told the Metro: “Freddie Starr died from a heart attack. There is absolutely no doubt. He had a history of heart problems and the autopsy has revealed a heart attack was the cause of his death.”
The ‘Freddie Starr Show’ star had previously suffered from coronary artery disease and had a quadruple bypass following a heart attack in 2010.
Meanwhile, Freddie’s carer Nelly – who is believed to have found the comedian’s body – said he had been “fine” when she left him to go to the supermarket, but had passed away in the 30 minutes she was away.
She said: “I went to the supermarket for maybe 30 minutes and came back he was dead. He was fine before. He had many problems but I never knew he was bad. He was watching TV, he never said he wasn’t OK or he wasn’t feeling well. He was playing with his cat, nothing was bothering him.”
And a neighbour of Freddie’s said the funny man hadn’t been “well for some time”.
They said: “Freddie hadn’t looked well for some time and rarely ventured out. Whenever he appeared recently his head would be down and he’d be smoking.”
Freddie rose to fame in the early 1970s after appearing on TV show ‘Opportunity Knocks’ and the Royal Variety Performance, and went on to star in a number of his own shows including ‘The Freddie Starr Show’ and ‘An Audience with Freddie Starr’.
He also presented the game show ‘Beat The Crusher’ and appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2011 – just a year after recovering from quadruple bypass surgery following a heart attack – but he was forced to leave the jungle early following a suspected allergic reaction.

Dame Judi Dench glad she was ‘naive’ about playing Bond’s M

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Judi Dench is glad she was “naive” about playing M in the James Bond franchise.
The 84-year-old actress – who played the MI6 chief in seven films before her character met her end in 2012’s ‘Skyfall’ – “did not understand” why she was approached for the role and doesn’t think she’d have given a great performance if she’d realised just how big a role the secret service boss would be.
She said: “I thought it was a great idea to cast M as a woman after so many men had played that role but, nevertheless, I did not understand why they asked me.
“I’m glad I was a bit naive about taking on the role because, if I had known what I was getting into, I wouldn’t have been able to put one foot in front of the other on camera.
Dench “hesitated” when she was first offered the role, but her husband, the late actor Michael Williams, urged her to accept.
She told Closer magazine: “I remember that I hesitated when they first offered me it, but my husband told me, ‘Judi, you have to do it. I want to be able to say I’m married to a Bond woman.'”
Despite her years of success, the ‘Red Joan’ actress still worries work will dry up for her.
She said: “I’ve been very fortunate. I still worry that, every time I make a film, it’s going to be my last one, because I have this terrible feeling that no one will hire me again. That’s still my greatest fear.
“A few years ago, I started crying on the set of one film because I suddenly had this thought that this might be my last job.”

Will Smith’s ‘sexy genie’

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith felt “sexy” while playing the Genie in ‘Aladdin’.
The 50-year-old actor was cast as the iconic character in Guy Ritchie’s live action take on the classic tale and he said he felt very confident in his appearance during filming.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “I was feeling sexy about myself as the genie. I felt sexy about myself.”
And he admitted he aspires to be like the Genie in real life.
He said: “This movie has a lot of really great ideas that I love and the concept of the Genie, somebody whose whole existence is dedicated to helping people find themselves and create the lives that they want, that aspect is almost the purest definition of love. So for me playing the Genie – you’re always looking for something that you can connect to with a character that’s authentic – that devotion and dedication is what I aspire to with my life.”
However, Will previously admitted he worried he wouldn’t be able to match the performance given by the late Robin Williams, who voiced the character of the Genie in the 1992 animated adventure.
He said: “‘The genie will say anything or do anything, there’s a certain madness to the genie – that was the fun that Robin Williams created so I was trying to find what that meant, with a little more of a ‘Fresh Prince’ twist to it.
“I wanted to create something that was both nostalgic but also had a little bit new school sometimes…
“It was quite stressful and daunting. Robin Williams did not leave much room to improve on the Genie.
“Fun is what Robin Williams did so well with the Genie and I’ve been trying so hard to capture that.”

Ulrika Jonsson’s dementia fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Ulrika Jonsson thought her menopause symptoms were actually signs of dementia.
The 51-year-old TV presenter was worried when she became confused, forgot words and had problems with her short-term memory and she says her then-husband Brian Monet’s lack of empathy led to the breakdown of their marriage.
She told the Daily Mail: “By the time I confided in my pal about my dementia fears, I was also suffering with crippling anxiety, another blow to my self-confidence.
“I kept being floored by a sense of doom that I couldn’t snap myself out of. I’d have dark thoughts about terrible things happening to my children; waking up with a knot in my stomach but no sense of what could be making me feel so worried.
“I didn’t tell the kids how I was feeling because I didn’t want to scare them. I was still with my husband Brian at the time — we’re now divorcing — and he didn’t even try to empathise with what I was going through.
“In fact, he didn’t seem interested at all. It’s so important to share things in a relationship, yet I was doing 99 per cent of the talking. I felt incredibly alone.
“While I don’t want to go into why my marriage broke down, I do believe the hurt and disappointment I felt at that time added to a sense of loneliness in my relationship.”
After speaking to her mother and some friends, Ulrika decided to see a doctor and says it took about 12 months for her to start feeling like herself again
She said: “It turned out that I was particularly low in progesterone — the ‘calming’ hormone — along with the obvious one, oestrogen, which was causing my memory problems.
“That’s because falling levels of oestrogen can slow down the speed at which the brain’s neuro-transmitters work and cause problems in the hippocampus region of the brain, which is where memory processing takes place.
“So I was prescribed testosterone, DHEA, progesterone, oestrogen, and pregnenolone — all applied as creams. It took a good 12 months to get the balance spot-on, but I soon felt much better.”

Trust Me creator scrapped 2nd series plans for Jodie Whittaker

OHMYGOSSIP — The second series of ‘Trust Me’ had to be totally reworked when Jodie Whittaker was cast in ‘Doctor Who’.
The BBC medical drama’s creator Dan Sefton has admitted he planned out a second season following the star’s impostor doctor alter-ego Cath Hardacre, but he had to come up with an entirely new concept when he saw the video announcement that she had joined the sci-fi show while he was watching the Wimbledon tennis tournament final two years ago.
Asked when he found out about Jodie’s role as the Time Lord, he told RadioTImes.com: “The same time as everybody else. I remember exactly where I was because it was the match at Wimbledon, wasn’t it?
“And I was watching the announcement – I remember when she walked out of the TARDIS, and I was like, ‘It’s f***ing her, Jesus!’
“I texted Nicola [Shindler, of Red Production Company], like, ‘Did you know?’ I didn’t know. I was kind of numb. It was like, ‘Oh. Now what happens?’ But you know, good luck to her.”
While Dan admitted “it was a shame” they couldn’t continue with Cath’s story, he quickly realised it would be impossible to get Jodie to return.
He added: “You always have to plan what could happen, so with Nicola Shindler and I, we’d thought about it, and we were ready to go with a pitch about how it could continue.
“And then, of course, when Jodie was Doctor Who … we realised there was no way she’d be available. So, then it was, like, ‘What else could we do?’ And then actually out of those problems come opportunities.
“We went back to the BBC and to Gaynor [Holmes, head of drama for BBC Scotland], and said, ‘Look, we’ve got an idea for a completely different story, but the same kind of style and psychological’ – and we pitched her this idea and she said, ‘That sounds great’, so we worked it up and then luckily the BBC said, ‘Yeah, let’s do that.’ ”
The second season of ‘Trust Me’ features Alfred Enoch as Corporal Jamie McCain – a temporarily paralysed soldier who is recovering from a spinal injury – as he investigates some mysterious deaths on the ward of a Glasgow hospital.

Zara McDermott cools things with Olly Murs

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara McDermott finds it “awkward” that people think she’s dating Olly Murs.
The ‘Love Island’ star was rumoured to be romancing ‘The Voice’ coach after they met during a night out in Essex last month, but the brunette beauty is adamant they are nothing more than friends because he’s “a lot older” than her.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “He definitely thought I was his type on paper. He’s a lot older than me though. I feel really annoyed now because it’s awkward. Everyone thinks I’m dating bloody Olly Murs. Imagine my ideal man wants to slide into my DMs but they think I’m with Olly. It’s not ideal.
“I sing and play the piano and he invited me to watch The Voice to see how it works as I want to get into all of that. He was lovely to me and that’s all I can say.”
But, even if she was as invested into the 34-year-old singer as he is her, Zara doesn’t think she wants to get into a committed relationship anytime soon after she was left “heartbroken” following her split from Adam Collard recently.
The 22-year-old reality TV star explained: “It’s been about three months since Adam and I broke up and to be honest I was very hung up on it. It was very hard to let go. It took me a while to fully get over it because there was so much back and forth. I’ve been in and out of relationships since I was 19 and I’m 22 now. I need to learn to truly be happy on my own and that’s my next conquest.”

Vicky Pattison admits she’s ‘lonely’ and feels like a ‘fraud’

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison feels “lonely” and “down” due to trying to portray a perfect life on Instagram.
The 31-year-old reality star explained how she felt like a “fraud” after being thanked by women for being herself on social media even though she often posts “glossy, filtered” pictures which portray the image of a “perfect life”.
Sharing a no-make up selfie, she wrote: “I felt like a fraud, like someone who is contributing to the problem that social media is creating in our society rather than someone who is fighting to be part of the solution.
“Glossy, filtered pics, glamorous locations, bikini shots, ads & an overall aesthetic of a perfect life stare back at me & there are no signs of the girl in this picture. (sic)”
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star went on to explain that she wants to show a truthful version of herself and admitted that in reality she’s “lonely” has “gained weight” and is “losing sleep” over the thought of attending the BAFTA Television Awards for the first time this weekend.
She said: “We are punishing ourselves because we aren’t these people & they aren’t even these f***ing people? It’s all for the ‘gram! So baring that in mind – this is me: I have a chest infection that I haven’t been able to shake and it’s making me cranky, I’m lonely, I’ve gained weight recently & it’s getting me down no matter how much I pretend I’m ok with it, I’m going to the baftas for the first time on Sunday & I’m so nervous that I won’t fit in or look as good as everyone else I’m losing sleep over it.
“[I] miss my mam, i’m sick of living out of a suitcase, I’m drowning in these thoughts and I don’t feel inspirational. (sic)”

Timothy Spall’s gruelling show

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothy Spall found making ‘Hatton Garden’ “bloody gruelling”.
The 62-year-old actor plays Terry Perkins in ITV’s four-part drama about the infamous £14 million heist in London’s jewellery quarter in 2015 – which saw a group of elderly thieves drill a hole into the wall of a vault – and admitted the “old blokes” involved in the robbery had to put themselves to the test physically in order to pull off the theft.
He said: “We recreated the vault in the studio and in filming our story you realised these were old blokes working very hard in what was very difficult, physical, skilled engineering.
“So when we got down to filming the work, you realise how hard it was. No wonder my character and the others were exhausted. They were old.
“You really got a sense of how difficult it was to drill through concrete with one of those diamond drills. It was a bit like being involved with some bizarre engineering feat.
“It was bloody gruelling. We were running up and down stairways at 3am.
“Some of it was a bit challenging. But we always had somebody standing by with a cup of tea and a chair. Unlike most people who do that sort of thing.”
And show bosses went to great lengths to make the drama as realistic as possible.
Writer Jeff Pope told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “[The robbers] used the largest drill you can get and worked out it would be just big enough for them to get through.
“We used exactly the same model of drill.”
The show was originally due to air in December 2017 but put on hold after prosecutors warned it would clash with the trial of the suspects.
‘Hatton Garden’ is due to air on ITV later this month.
