OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig is playing a part in re-writing the ‘Bond 25’ script.
The 51-year-old star will reprise his role as suave spy James Bond in the as-yet untitled movie, and he is said to have swapped 007’s pistol for a pen after taking on some writing duties alongside director Cary Joji Fukunaga and screenplay scribe Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
A filmmaking source said: “She’s writing a re-write of a re-write.
“Daniel’s writing. Cary’s writing.”
A plot outline appears to be in place for the movie, but the dialogue is said to be “all last-minute”.
The source added to the Daily Mail newspaper: “They have an outline of plot, but dialogue is all last-minute. It’s not the way to make a movie.
“I would imagine they’ll sort it out in the cutting room. That’s where most movies get made anyway. But you’d think the Bond lot would be more together.”
But ‘Bond 25’ has not been without its problems.
The motion picture was originally slated for release on February 14, 2020 but it has since been pushed back after director Danny Boyle departed the project by mutual consent.
Fukunaga joined as the movie’s new director and he enlisted Scott Z. Burns to re-write the script.
What’s more, last month, Phoebe was hired to work on the script after impressing Bond bosses with her work on TV series ‘Fleabag’ and ‘Killing Eve’.
She was said to have met with Craig to discuss the script, which he felt needed some “polishing” and more comedy.
A Bond 25 Live Reveal event last month confirmed Rami Malek will portray the film’s main villain.
Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Billy Magnussen were confirmed to be part of the cast, and returning cast members include Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Lea Seydoux and Ben Whishaw.
‘Bond 25’ will be released in the UK and internationally on April 3, 2020 and in the US on April 8.

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith found it “daunting” taking on the role of the genie in ‘Aladdin’.
The 50-year-old actor admitted it was “stressful” to have been cast as the iconic character in Guy Ritchie’s live action take on the classic tale and worried he wouldn’t be able to match the performance given by the late Robin Williams in the 1992 animated adventure.
Speaking at the European premiere of the movie in London’s Leicester Square on Thursday (09.05.19), he said: “‘The genie will say anything or do anything, there’s a certain madness to the genie – that was the fun that Robin Williams created so I was trying to find what that meant, with a little more of a Fresh Prince flavour to it.
“I wanted to create something that was both nostalgic but also had a little bit new school sometimes…
“It was quite stressful and daunting. Robin Williams did not leave much room to improve on the Genie.
“Fun is what Robin Williams did so well with the Genie and I’ve been trying so hard to capture that and give it my flavour.”
Guy had a very specific idea for how he wanted Will to look in the movie.
The actor explained: “Guy had a very specific take on what how wanted the genie to look like.
“A 1970s bodybuilder where his upper body is huge and his lower body really small – they did no leg day. That was his comedic value.”
Despite being daunted by the role, Will – who was joined at the premiere by his director and co-stars including Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud and Marwan Kenzari – admitted appearing in the movie was a dream come true.
He said: “There is drama, comedy, singing, rapping, special effects, everything I wanted to do over the past 30 years i got to do in this one film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Davro has led tributes to the late Freddie Starr.
The 60-year-old comedian says the entertainer, who was found dead at his home in the Costa Del Sol, Spain, on Thursday (09.05.19) aged 76, was the “funniest man [he] had ever seen”, and praised him as one of Britain’s “greatest comedy talents”.
He wrote on Twitter: “I’ve just heard that Freddie Starr has died.
He was the funniest man I have ever seen.
I’m so sad we have lost one of our greatest comedy talents. RIP Freddie. (sic)”
Fellow comedian Jim Davidson also paid tribute to Freddie, who had a history of heart problems and asthma, describing him as “the greatest”.
He tweeted: “Just heard the news. Freddie Starr was the greatest.”
Amanda Holden admitted that while his style may have “fallen out of comedy fashion and favour”, people should still recognise his “once huge popularity and fame”.
The ‘Britain’s’ Got Talent’ judge wrote: “Sad to hear of Freddie Starr passing today.His style may have fallen out of comedy fashion & favour-but it’s important to recognise his once huge popularity& fame.The outrageous & edgy parody’s were infamous.I hope his legacy is not smalled down and he’s remembered with a smile (sic)”
Businessman Lord Alan Sugar also found Freddie to be “very funny”.
The ‘Apprentice’ star wrote: “According to some news reports Freddie Star has died in Spain . If true sad news, he was a very funny man RIP (sic)”
TV presenter Anne Diamond tweeted: “So sad – Freddie Starr. An incredible and unique talent. I remember being in a tv green room with him at Elstree studios and became exhausted with laughter at his repartee. Always difficult and awkward to interview but always worth it! Loved him. (sic)”
Following his death, a neighbour claimed he “hadn’t looked well for some time”.
They said: “Freddie hadn’t looked well for some time and rarely ventured out. Whenever he appeared recently his head would be down and he’d be smoking.”
The comedian rose to fame in the early 1970s after appearing on TV show ‘Opportunity Knocks’ and the Royal Variety Performance, and went on to star in a number of his own shows including ‘The Freddie Starr Show’ and ‘An Audience with Freddie Starr’.
He also presented the game show ‘Beat The Crusher’ and appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2011 – just a year after recovering from quadruple bypass surgery following a heart attack – but he was forced to leave the jungle early following a suspected allergic reaction.
What’s more, he was known for one of the most memorable newspaper headlines of all time, ‘Freddie Starr ate my hamster’, which appeared on The Sun’s front page in 1986.
The story had claimed he had put a hamster between two slices of bread and eaten the rodent, but in his autobiography he denied the incident had taken place.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay has landed his first ever prime-time BBC show.
The 52-year-old chef – who has fronted a number of programmes on ITV and Channel 4 over the years – has signed up to front a new cooking competition, which has the working title of ‘Step Up To The Plate’.
A source said: “It’s a great coup for the BBC to pinch Gordon from its rivals.
“The show is in its very early stages, but everyone hopes it can go from a pilot to a full series.
“Gordon is hugely popular with audiences and a household name with unrivalled knowledge of the industry.”
Producers are currently looking for contestants who have the “seed” of an innovative cookery idea to pitch to Gordon for the show.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “They want chefs, restaurateurs or someone developing the next big food or drink product to apply now.”
Meanwhile, the chef – who has children Megan, 21, twins Jack and Holly, 19, Matilda, 17, and Oscar, five weeks, with wife Tana – is also set to team up with Fred Sirieix and Gino D’Acampo for another series of ‘Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip’ if the trio can co-ordinate their schedules in order to embark on another adventure together.
‘First Dates’ star Fred recently revealed: “We’re looking at dates at the moment so if we can get it to happen we will. It was three weeks of mayhem, complete mayhem. Sleeping with [Gordon and Gino] in a camper van.”
And when asked who he would rather marry or sleep with out of his two co-stars, Fred added: “What a question, I’m not sure I would marry any of them. This is a tough question.
“Maybe I marry Gordon for the money and Gino for the fun. Gino is very funny, he wants to do what he wants to do.
“It was quite extraordinary, to be three weeks on the road with them, it was exhausting, when we finished I went back to work to rest.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Patti Clare says it is “really incredible” that ‘Coronation Street’ keeps going.
The 43-year-old actress is currently in her 11th year of portraying Mary Cole on the cobbles, and she has likened the ITV soap to a bingo hall, because time seems to go by quickly without the show’s stars noticing.
She said: “It’s strange – a lot of the actors say this about ‘Corrie’, but it’s like going to a bingo hall, in that there are no clocks.
“So time goes by and, before you know it, five, 10, 11 years have passed.
“The fact that the show goes on and on is really incredible.”
One of Patti’s recently storylines saw Mary find her long-lost son Jude Appleton (Paddy Wallace) only for him to turn out to be a compulsive liar, and he also turned aggressive and attacked her.
And while the actress does enjoy portraying dramatic scenes on the cobbles, she was pleased the soap’s script writers gave her some more comedy following the hard-hitting plot.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “I like a bit of both. I must say, after the Jude plot, which was so sad, it was nice that the writers then gave me some comedy, because it was lovely to fall back into that.
“With this current storyline, some of the moments are so touching, and it’s tough to walk the line between comedy and heartfelt emotion.”
And Patti’s comedy performances are clearly impressing people as she has been nominated in the Best Comedy Performance category for the upcoming British Soap Awards, which take place on June 1st.
She will face stiff competition from ‘Doctors’ actress Sarah Moyle (Valerie Pitman), EastEnders’ Tameka Empson (Kim Fox-Hubbard), Emmerdale’s Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King) and ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jessamy Stoddart (Liberty Savage).

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie McGlynn has joked she has been in ‘Coronation Street’ “too long”.
The cobbles favourite has played Sinead Tinker on the ITV soap since 2013, but it was recently reported she could be set to leave the show, and her quip has now fuelled such speculation.
When asked by ‘Celebrity Juice’ host Keith Lemon how long she has been on the soap, she joked: “Too long.”
Keith then cheekily replied: “Get out then.”
And just days after the last night’s (09.05.19) episode was recorded, rumours were rife that Katie was set to quit the show.
A source said at the time: “Katie has just been nominated for a British Soap Award so it’s a big loss and not what bosses would have wanted to hear.”
However, ‘Corrie’ insisted the former ‘Waterloo Road’ star is “fully committed” to playing out the rest of her character’s cervical cancer storyline, and say the plot “still has a long way to go”.
A spokesperson said: “Katie is fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen.
“This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers.”
In January, Katie admitted her ‘Coronation Street’ future was “up in the air”.
She said at the time: “I’m contracted well into this year but it is up in the air. Although I have to wait and see what happens, I quite like not knowing.
“With the nature of my storyline, I guess it’s 50/50. Either way I’d be happy, though.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Waller-Bridge wants the female characters in ‘Bond 25’ to feel “like real people”.
The 33-year-old writer-and-actress – who wrote the script of the hit assassin thriller TV series ‘Killing Eve’ and wrote and starred in the BBC comedy-drama ‘Fleabag’ – has joined the writing team for the yet-to-be-titled film, which will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007 and she admits it is her aim to try and “sneak in” some of her signature feminist humour.
Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, she said: “It’s really exciting. The film they’ve got is such an exciting story. It’s been a joy to work on. It’s mainly about making them feel like real people, which they do in the previous films. I think Daniel’s films have had really fantastic Bond girls and it’s about keeping that up.”
Asked whether she would be including her famous feminist humour in the script, Phoebe said: “Well, we’ll see, we’ll see what I can sneak in.”
Producer Barbara Broccoli previously revealed that it was Daniel’s suggestion to add Phoebe to the writing team and says she and director Cary Joji Fukunaga “leapt” on the idea.
She said: “It was Daniel’s idea, we all leapt to it, we loved her. She has made a great contribution to it.”
Joining Craig, 51, in the movie is Rami Malek, who will portray the main villain, and Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Billy Magnussen.
Returning cast members include Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Lea Seydoux and Ben Whishaw.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Neeson is set to star in action-thriller ‘The Minuteman’.
The 66-year-old actor will play the lead role in the upcoming film with Robert Lorenz helming project working from a script he wrote with Chris Charles and Danny Kravitz.
The movie will follow a retired Vietnam veteran (Neeson) who finds himself responsible for the life of a young boy being hunted by a cartel.
The movie is a follow-up to his directorial debut ‘Trouble with the Curve’ which starred the likes of his long-time producing partner Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and John Goodman.
Voltage Pictures will shop the action thriller in Cannes to international buyers and shooting will kick off this September in New Mexico.
‘The Minuteman’ will be produced by Zero Gravity Management’s Tai Duncan and Mark Williams, alongside Sculptor Media’s Warren Goz and Eric Gold.
Liam was last seen in Steve McQueen’s 2018 film ‘Widows’ playing Viola Davis’ on-screen husband alongside Michelle Rodriguez, 38, Andre Holland, 37, Daniel Kaluuya, 27, and Elizabeth Debicki, 26.
The film – which was based on a series which was followed by two more outings in 1985 and 2002 – told the story of four women whose criminal husbands died in the middle of robbing a security van after it caught fire.
The group eventually track down the cash for themselves – but then one of the women discovers her husband never died.
‘Gone Girl’ writer Gillian Flynn – who previously worked with the director on ‘Codes of Conduct’, an HBO series that has now been shelved – is wrote the script for ‘Widows’, which was set in Chicago, rather than the original London.
‘Widows’ was McQueen’s first new movie since his Oscar-winning effort ’12 Years a Slave’.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Argent and Hayley Hughes have reportedly signed up for ‘Celebs on the Farm’.
The ‘TOWIE’ star and ‘Love Island’ beauty are said to be lined up for the next series of the Channel 5 reality show, which sees famous faces rolling up their sleeves and getting down to work on a farm.
According to The Sun Online, Arg and Hayley are the first two names tied to the upcoming second run later this year.
The programme is set to return to the small screen over the summer after it was recommissioned back in March.
An insider said at the time: “Producers have really gone all out to secure some very exciting celebs.
“Some aren’t going to know what hit them when they have to do a few of the challenges. The series is definitely going to be bigger and better than last year for sure.”
The show features eight celebrities learning the ropes as they stay on a farm and compete with each other – and the early starts – to be named the winner.
For the first series last year, ‘Dancing With The Stars’ pro Gleb Savchenko was crowned the champion ahead of the likes of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Bobby Norris, Olympic athlete Ashley McKenzie, former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemate Megan McKenna and ‘Ex On the Beach’ beauty Charlotte Dawson.
They were joined by ‘Googlebox’ star Sandi Bogle, who admitted the show was an “amazing experience” despite being axed during the series.
She said at the time: “I’m a bit emotional, but that’s the way these things go. It has been an amazing experience. The fields, the animals – the atmosphere is an amazing place to come.
“It has been a pleasure for me to come and I thank farmer Chris for allowing me to come and have this experience.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Suranne Jones says her and Sophie Rundle bonded while doing lesbian sex scenes.
The 40-year-old actress – who plays land owner Anne Lister in BBC One’s ‘Gentleman Jack’ – had serious “chemistry” with the ‘Bodyguard’ actress, so much so they filmed the intimate moments as if “no one else was in the room”.
Suranne told The Sun newspaper: “We used the camera to come in on us and find intimate moments, which was really great, because we were able to just play that between us like no one else was in the room.
“By the end me and Sophie were like two nans with a cup of tea. Like, covers off, hanging out and it was great.
“But we needed to get to know each other to be able to do that.
“We had a ‘chemistry read’ first and when Sophie was cast, I knew straight away, ‘That’s my girl’.
“Mine and Sophie’s chemistry grew as you see it in real time, throughout the eight episodes.”
‘Gentleman Jack’ tells the story of Anne, who returns to Shibden Hall in West Yorkshire after a period of travel, study and social climbing.
Once back home, she engages in a quest to transform her house and business interests, as well as to find herself a wife.
Suranne and Sophie star in the upcoming BBC One show alongside Joe Armstrong, Jessica Baglow, Amelia Bullmore and Rosie Cavaliero.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star previously admitted show creator Sally Wainwright got intimacy co-ordinator Ita O’Brien on board to help them with saucy scenes.
Suranne said: “One of the great things she brought was an articulacy – we could talk about the scenes.
“She just started talking about body parts and positions in a matter of fact way, which just liberated us all.
“As well as helping us sculpt the sex scenes, the positions, she’s also there to provide support to the artists.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Barrymore has reportedly been taking acting classes ahead of a big return to the small screen.
The former ‘Strike It Lucky’ host – who now goes by his real name, Michael Parker – is said to be looking to rejuvenate his career after a huge fall from grace which occurred after he was arrested in 2001 when a man, Stuart Lubbock, was found dead in the swimming pool at his home in Essex.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, the 67-year-old star has been taking regular classes at the Actors Crib in London, which is a school for “serious actors with a desire to be the best in the business”.
Michael has been sharing videos of himself performing with his classmates on social media, and has hailed the experience he’s had at actor Daniel O’Meara’s school.
In his testimony for the institution, he wrote: “I started acting when I was 19, winning a scholarship to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
“The Actors Crib is without doubt the best workshop experience I have done.”
In 2001, the comedian was questioned on suspicion of rape and murder, but in 2017 he was awarded nominal damages at the High Court after suing police for wrongful arrest.
Attorney General Jeremy Wright recently turned down an application by Stuart’s father Terry to open a new inquest into his son’s death.
Michael has made various bids to revive his career, appearing on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2006 and opening up about his drug addiction on ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ in 2014.
He is set to speak candidly about the controversy – and his drink and drug use – in a upcoming appearance on ITV’s ‘Piers Morgan’s Life Stories’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Freddie Starr turned down the chance to meet up with Bobby Davro last year because he had “not been too well”.
The late comedian was found dead aged 76 at his home in the Costa Del Sol, Spain, on Thursday (09.05.19), and Bobby, 60, has admitted he turned to meet up with the star in Spain but his late pal wasn’t feeling great.
He said: “I might have been one of the last people to speak to him.
“I went over to Spain to do a couple of gigs last year. Someone said Freddie was living in that place in Spain.
“I got in touch with him, got hold of his number and phoned him up.
“At first he didn’t really feel like talking, but then he called me back.
“He said, ‘How are you doing, Bob?’
“I said, ‘I’m alright, Freddie. Would you like to meet up for a cup of tea? I’m in town.’
“He said, ‘No … I’ve not been too well.’
“And just looking at those pictures … I want to remember the Freddie we all knew.
“Rest in peace, Freddie. He was fantastic.”
Bobby credits his late friend as one of his “heroes”, and realised when he was watching him perform that he would “never be as funny as Freddie”.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “I remember going to see him at a club in Windsor call Blazers.
“I thought then, ‘Of all the time I’ve got breath in my body I’ll never be as funny as Freddie Starr.’ He was one of my heroes.”
TV presenter Les Dennis has also paid tribute to Freddie, praising him as a “total one off”.
He tweeted: “Freddie Starr was so exciting to watch live. A true clown who could also sing like Elvis. A total one off. RIP. (sic)”
Younger TV fans will remember Freddie from his short 2011 stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Roxy Shahidi says being “naturally protective” over Joe-Warren Plant in real life helped to play out “difficult scenes” on the soap.
The 36-year-old actress’ alter-ego Leyla Harding was left livid after discovering her son Jacob Gallagher – played by Joe-Warren – has been groomed for months by his teacher Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein), and Roxy admitted her real adoration for the 17-year-old star assisted her acting.
She said: “I’ve worked with Joe-Warren since he was seven years old and I absolutely love and adore him and I don’t think you can help but feel naturally protected over him.
“I’ve watched him from going from this tiny little boy on set to being this wonderful actor that he is today, and so having a storyline where you feel he’s been taken advantage of or someone has hurt him, that’s helped me to play the difficult scenes.
“Because the love you feel is there, so I think that’s helped.”
The plot exploded further into life this week when Leyla left Maya for dead after a fight in the woods.
The cast had to film gruelling night shoots for two weeks to play out those and other scenes, and Roxy says sometimes stars only had three hours sleep before appearing on camera.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “It was two weeks of night shoots.
“I’d tell anyone who would listen that I’d been up all night and had to get back home and then I’d been up all day.
“But it was such a good group of us, and we do get on, so even at 3am and it was freezing and we were wearing thermal wetsuits because it was so cold – we still laughed.
“But because the storyline was so important, you still had to bring it, even if you’d only had three hours sleep.
“It’s already like a war story. ‘Do you remember when we did the night shoot?’ but we did really enjoy it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield have joined the cast of ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’.
The ‘Molly’s Game’ star is set to star alongside the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ actor in the upcoming Fox Searchlight biopic with ‘The Big Sick’ director Michael Showalter at the helm.
The movie will be based on Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato’s 2000 documentary of the same name – which was narrated by Ru Paul – which followed the fascinating story of televangelists Jim (Garfield) and Tammy Faye Bakker (Chastain), and the rise and fall of their Christian empire.
In the 1970s and ’80s, Tammy Faye and Jim met as students at North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The pair soon married and co-founded a televangelist Christian news show called The PTL Club (Praise The Lord), before going on to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and a theme park.
Tammy – who was dubbed as ‘the Queen of the Eyelashes’ – was known for her distinctive singing voice and keenness to embrace people from all walks of life.
Despite their success, it wasn’t long before financial problems scheming rivals, and sexual scandal tore their marriage apart and toppled their empire.
Abe Sylvia penned the script for the upcoming project and Chastain, 42, will produce along with her producing partner Kelly Carmichael through their Freckle Films production banner.
Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane will also produce through their Madison Wells Media while Jordana Mollick is on board as executive producer.
This isn’t the first time Jessica has teamed up with Showalter, with the pair developing an untitled holiday comedy for Universal which the ‘Dark Phoenix’ actress will feature in along with her ‘The Help’ co-star Octavia Spencer.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of ‘The Virtuoso’.
The 81-year-old actor is set to star in the upcoming noir-thriller alongside ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ actor Anson Mount, 46, and ‘Limitless’ star Abbie Cornish, 36, with Nick Stagliano directing from a script originated by James C Wolf.
The film will follow a hitman (Mount) who is tasked with hunting down and killing his latest target in order to pay off a debt to his mentor (Hopkins), but the killer is given no information other than word his target will be in a rustic diner in a dying town at 5:00 PM.
Mount’s character embarks on a manhunt to find his target and accomplish the mission at the diner in which Cornish’s enigmatic waitress works.
Cameras are rolling now, and the rights to the film will be available at Cannes.
In a statement, Hopkins said: “It’s a powerful piece. Nick Stagliano and I are both great fans of film noir, and Nick is a student of that genre. I waited three years to be able to play The Mentor.”
Mount added: “There have been two independent films that I’ve done [‘Tully’ and ‘Cook County’] that changed things, professionally, artistically and personally.
“I felt that this was the third one I found that was as good. The script for The Virtuoso had such a clean structure, so well done. I got it immediately, and I knew what I wanted to do with the role as soon as I read it. That doesn’t happen a lot.”
Stagliano remarked: “It is truly humbling to work with a cast of this calibre.”
Stagliano’s Nazz Productions financed and produced the film while Fred Fuchs and Nancy Stagliano serve as executive producers.

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomie Harris says the days of the “old Bond” are numbered thanks to Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Phoebe – who wrote the script of the hit assassin thriller TV series ‘Killing Eve’ and wrote and starred in BBC comedy-drama ‘Fleabag’ – has joined the writing team for Bond 25, which will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007.
Harris – who plays Miss Moneypenny in the franchise – revealed that the writer and actress will “ramp up the female perspective” on the yet-to-be-titled film and hailed the star as a “strong woman” with a “comedic touch”.
Speaking to Stuart McGurk at the GQ Heroes summit on Thursday (09.05.19) the 42-year-old star said: “She’s a strong woman with a great comedic touch so she’s going to ramp up the female perspective on Bond 25. The Bond of old, his days are numbered.”
The ‘Moonlight’ actress also explained that one of the reasons James Bond is such a successful franchise is that it toes the line between Ian Fleming’s original novels and “being progressive with the times.”
She added: “I think it always has to be its own thing because you always have to represent the Bond Ian Fleming wrote and it was a very particular time.
“But this is going to be the 25th Bond, this is the longest running franchise of all time and that’s for a very particular reason. The reason is that it manages to keep the essence of what Ian Fleming wrote but it’s also constantly adapting and changing with the times.
“To keep people interested that’s the incredibly difficult line you have to walk between keeping the diehard Bond fans who want [a] traditional Bond and also being progressive with the times.”
