OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ has been axed.
The ITV daytime show is set to end production after 14 years on screen following the death of Steve Dymond, who allegedly took his own life a week after taking a lie detector test on the programme.
Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.
“Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.
“The previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue.”
But the network won’t be cutting ties with the 57-year-old host completely.
Carolyn added: “ITV will continue to work with Jeremy Kyle on other projects.”
Earlier this week, the show was taken off air and all past episodes removed from the ITV Hub following Steve’s death.
A spokesperson said at the time: “Everyone at ITV and ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in.
“Our thoughts are with their family and friends.
“ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured.
“Given the seriousness of this event, ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this episode of the show.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Wolfenden has heaped praise on Joe-Warren Plant for the way he’s dealt with his ‘Emmerdale’ grooming storyline.
The soap star – who plays David Metcalfe on the ITV show – opened up on the 17-year-old actor’s performances as young Jacob Gallagher, who has been groomed by Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein).
Matthew, 39, said: “I’m very proud of Joe-Warren. It’s incredible that he’s been put up for Best Young Performer at the Soap Awards, which I think he deserves more than anything.
“I’ve been with Joe now since he was 7 years old, when he first auditioned for the show. I’ve seen him grow up into somebody who’s nearly a foot taller than me, which is very annoying!
“He’s just blossomed within this storyline. I know he’s 17 now, but the show has given a child actor such a huge storyline. The way that he’s gone about it – so professional and grown up – is incredible.”
In scenes set to air next week, Maya will be arrested after David intervened when he was planning to escape with teenager Jacob.
However, the youngster doesn’t accept that he was groomed and manipulated in the disturbed relationship, and it means there is much more to come from the storyline.
Matthew explained: “This is the start of the hard times for David and Jacob. The fact that Maya has been arrested is not the end of the storyline. I think it’s the beginning of the next chapter.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen next, because as far as Jacob thinks, David has ruined his life. I don’t know if he’s ever going to come around to the fact that David hasn’t. It’s definitely not going to be a quick fix.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dean Gaffney wants to join ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor – who first spent a decade on the soap until 2003 before rejoining in 2017 – admitted he turned down an offer to appear on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ because of his lack of culinary skills, but he revealed he would love to take on a more physical challenge.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “They did ask me to do ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ but I can’t cook.
“So they said to my agent, ‘We’ll come back in a year and see if he has done any cooking lessons.’
“I’d love to do the ‘Celeb SAS’ reality show – I do like to challenge myself. But you’d never see me on ‘Celebrity Coach Trip’. It’s just not for me. It’s just a bit tacky.”
It’s been almost 13 years since Dean’s last reality TV appearance when he went to the jungle for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
And last year, the 41-year-old soap star hit out at ITV2 dating show ‘Love Island’ and revealed he has banned his twin daughters Chloe and Charlotte, 21, from even auditioning.
He ranted: “I think anyone that goes on a reality show to open their legs and have sex on telly hasn’t been brought up well in my opinion. It’s not right and I certainly don’t want to have my daughters on that.
“They don’t want to do ‘Love Island’. They have their own careers. They’ve both done well and I am proud of them. They have been brought up well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz has blasted “domineering and condemnatory” Jeremy Kyle.
The 57-year-old broadcaster has slammed the presenter’s self-titled show – which has been taken off air following the death of guest Steve Dymond – for not being “civil” and “utterly smashing” those who appeared in order to air their problems.
She told BBC Radio 4: “I think people had watched his personality… and have felt may be it wasn’t healthy, it wasn’t civil, it wasn’t in any way the sorts of things that people feel comfortable watching and the net effect of utterly smashing someone to smithereens in public can’t be to make them feel great about themselves.
“I think the success of ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ really has been predicated on the snarling and the shouting and the attacking and the security guards and also Jeremy Kyle’s pugilistic, argumentative, very often hectoring and often entirely domineering and condemnatory personality.
“He has certainly riled and inflamed his guests and he’s flourished on the back of that.”
Vanessa believes audiences have “run out of time and patience” for the show and called for it to be axed for good.
She added: “They’ve just about had enough of seeing that kind of thumb of human misery. It’s unedifying. It’s distressing and maybe people have just had enough. Maybe this is the right time to pull the plug.
“I think that most people who watch ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ feel it’s surprising that something as tragic as somebody taking a life hadn’t happened before this.”
The presenter previously had her own chat show, ‘Vanessa’, and insisted her programme – which ran from 1994 to 1998 – had a very different ethos because she wanted the guests to feel “better” about themselves.
She said: “When my show started in 1994 the attitude to mental health and the perspective on mental health was very, very different from the attitude today, also the atmosphere on the show was very different.
“So it wasn’t confrontational. It was much more exploratory ‘Why did you do that? How come you made that choice? What led you to run away with your husband’s wife? Why did you decide to cop off with the best man at your daughter’s wedding?
“It was hoped I think that the participants would feel better rather than worse at the end of the show.
“That they would feel validated,seen, heard, supported by me, supported by the audience and would all in all feel they had done a good thing by taking part in the show rather than the opposite.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola McLean insists ‘Love Island’ should be dropped if ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ is axed.
The 37-year-old reality star believes the host of the daytime show is being made a scapegoat after a guest, Steve Dymond, allegedly took his own life a week after filming an episode, and doesn’t think it is “just” that the programme has been pulled off air and had all old instalments removed from the ITV hub when a new series of the dating series – which has faced criticism following the suicides of former contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis – will be back on screen soon.
She said: “I do think JK is being victimised. Why is it only his show being pulled off the air?…
“He’s done a lot of good and I think he’s been wrongly victimised. I think it’s a very bizarre…
“‘Love Island’ is coming on very soon, the show that’s making the most money for ITV brand and I think this is a mask so we don’t have to ban ‘Love Island’. ‘”Let’s get Jeremy Kyle so we don’t have to get that.’ ”
Asked if she thinks ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ should be axed, she said: “I don’t care about the show, I care about just, and if he’s getting cancelled, so should ‘Love Island’.”
And Nicola doesn’t feel the show should be blamed for Steve’s death.
Speaking on ‘Jeremy Vine’, she said: “Its horrific what happened and my heart goes out to his family but he willingly took part in the show.”
Fellow guest Calum Best also feels the presenter has been unfairly targeted and suggested much of the blame should lie with the age of social media.
He said: “I know Jeremy and I don’t think he should be targeted, maybe the show as a whole because of what it does and how it makes people feel.
“You get something like ‘Love Island’, obviously it’s really sad someone took their own life, that is tragic.
“Overall I look at it like social media has a huge part to play. Reality shows can be great, a great opportunity but the downside is if you don’t have a thick skin – and you shouldn’t have to – having people tell you so instantly their thoughts and opinions on you, it can affect people who don’t know how to deal with it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Zach Braff has been added to the cast of ‘The Comeback Trail’.
The 44-year-old actor – who is best known for his role as J. D. on medical comedy-drama TV series ‘Scrubs’ – is set to star in George Gallo’s remake of the 1980s comedy which was originally helmed by Harry Hurwitz.
The reboot will see Robert De Niro play film producer Max Barber who owes a serious debt to an organised crime boss (Morgan Freeman) with Braff portraying his producing partner.
Desperate to find a way to repay the gangster, the pair come up with a plan to cast a suicidal, washed-up cowboy movie star called Duke Montana (Tommy Lee Jones,) in a terribly written new Western.
The producers aim is to throw Duke into dangerous situations on set in hopes that he will die and they will collect the insurance money, however, he somehow rises to the occasion and puts in the performance on his career.
Gallo worked with Josh Posner to write the adaptation of Harry Hurwitz’s 1982 original, which features Chuck McCann as producer Enrico Kodac, Robert Staats as his partner E. Eddie Eastman and Buster Crabbe in his final on-screen role as Duke Montana.
Producers are Steven Tyler Sahlein, March On Productions’ Richard Salvatore and David Ornston, along with Joy Sirott Hurwitz and Julie Lott Gallo.
The film is being financed and executive produced by Empire Media Partners’ Justin Calvillo and John DeMarco, Storyboard Media’s Philip Kim, Patrick Hibler and Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard, along with Ben Ruedinger and Joerg Fischer.
Filming will begin this June in New Mexico.
‘The Comeback Trail’ will reunite him with Freeman, 81, after the pair worked together on a 2017 remake of the 1979 film ‘Going in Style’.
The heist comedy film was directed by Zach Braff and stars Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Joey King, Matt Dillon, Christopher Lloyd, Ann-Margret, John Ortiz and Siobhan Fallon Hogan.
It follows a trio of retirees who plan to rob a bank after their pensions are cancelled.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland says the “stakes are real” in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’.
The 22-year-old actor teased that in the upcoming sequel to ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ his alter ego Peter Parker has to “step up” now he’s working with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, now he no longer has the support of his mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
Speaking to Empire in the new Spider-Man: Far From Home issue, he said: “The relationship between Peter and Tony is admiration. The relationship between Peter and Nick Fury is more fear. I think he’s a little bit terrified of him. When he shows up, it’s no joke. He knows this isn’t some silly mission. He knows the stakes are real and it’s time to step up.”
The upcoming blockbuster will be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s third and final film of 2019 following the releases of ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ will see Zendaya reprise her role as MJ along with Jacob Batalon’s Ned and Tony Revelori’s bully Flash and will follow Peter and his classmates as they embark on a European school holiday, venturing around Venice, London and Prague.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays supervillain Mysterio, also known as Quentin Beck, in the film.
In the Marvel comic books Beck is a special effects wizard and stuntman working for a major Hollywood studio who uses his expertise to pursue a life of crime after failing in his ambitions to become a rich and famous actor.
However, the trailer teased that this version of Mysterio could be from an alternate universe following the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame.
In the teaser, Fury is seen telling Parker: “Beck is from Earth, just not ours. The Snap tore a hole in our dimension.”
Gyllenhaal, 38, previously said of his character: “Villain or hero, I don’t think that’s how you can define him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook went on the ‘Jeremy Kyle Show’ for “drugs and money”.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star appeared on the show earlier this year to discuss her drug addiction and she admitted her 22-year-old son Kai urged her not to take part because he knew she was only going on for the fee.
She said: “I was a very vulnerable person to put on a show like that. My son was on the phone saying, ‘If you go on there, I’ll never speak to you again, you’re only going on for drugs and money’ and he was right. But I didn’t care.
“I wanted the money and my son could see the illness in me.”
Danniella was offered, and accepted, three months rehab treatment during her appearance on the show and praised the host and his team for the way they looked after her and constantly monitored how she was getting on in the clinic.
She added on ‘Jeremy Vine’: “[They said] no one is gonna look after me, but they really have. I’ve spoken to Jeremy and the team all the time I’ve been in rehab and they’ve looked after me.”
A follow-up episode featuring Danniella was due to air this week but was pulled from the schedule in the wake of the suicide of guest Steve Dymond, and the actress revealed the presenter broke down in tears when she walked out on stage, but insisted she wasn’t receiving any special treatment because of their friendship.
She said: “It was brilliant, I think I’m the first person… I walked on stage and he cried and said he was proud.
“He’s my friend of 20 years and he was hard on me and he was hard because he is my friend.
“I’ve watched other people who have been in rehab and done the same, I haven’t been treated differently because I was on TV or I’m his friend, I’ve watched him treat people the same.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook is “devastated” for her friend Jeremy Kyle following ITV’s decision to axe his daytime talk show and insists if it wasn’t for his help she “probably wouldn’t be alive”.
ITV announced on Wednesday (15.05.19) that production ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ is to end with immediate effect after 14 years on screen following the death of Steve Dymond, who allegedly took his own life a week after taking a lie detector test on the show.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star appeared on the show earlier this year to discuss her drug addiction and was offered, and accepted, three months rehab treatment following her interview to get her clean and sober.
Danniella only has good things to say about host Jeremy, 53, and his team for what they did for her and has called for people criticising him to remember all the other kind deeds he has done during his tenure on the series to help people.
Appearing on Channel 5 current affairs discussion show ‘Jeremy Vine’, she said: “I’m devastated because Jeremy has done a lot of good in people’s lives. What can I say other than if it wasn’t for Jeremy Kyle I probably wouldn’t be alive. As much as it’s very sad that this guy has taken his own life at a time when he was very vulnerable. At a time when I was very vulnerable Jeremy was the only person who stepped up and put me into rehab … Lots of broken people watch it and have been fixed because of Jeremy Kyle. I don’t think he’s broken anybody, I was the most broken person ever and he opened the door when no one other than my son was interested. There’s a lot of people like me who need someone like Jeremy to intervene.
“Remember all the things, Christmas specials with the children who have cancer, he’s given families holidays and presents, it’s not just screaming and shouting at people.”
Danniella has been dismayed by the volume of personal attacks on Jeremy this week and hopes that bosses at ITV are looking after him in the wake of the decision to pull his programme permanently.
She said: “I hope they’re doing the right thing with their duty of care to Jeremy, and making sure he’s OK because if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be sat here. Is he OK, because he should be absolutely devastated?”
And the 45-year-old actress – who has also starred in ‘Hollyoaks’ and competed on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and ‘Dancing On Ice’ – is looking forward to what Jeremy does next.
She added: “I won’t miss the show, I don’t watch the show. Look, times have changed and it would be nice to see Jeremy do something else and see the nation take him to their hearts like they did before.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Harrison tried to take her own life as she struggled to cope with her late mother’s mental health battle.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress was just 18 when she took an overdose – which led to her spending three months in a psychiatric hospital – and she has opened up about the devastating time as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
Carol, now 64, told the Express: “I had a breakdown when I was 18 because of it. I tried to commit suicide.”
The former soap star – who Grant Mitchell’s secret lover Louise Raymond from 1998 to 1999 – admitted it was difficult growing up trying to deal with single mum Frances’ mental illness.
She explained: “I realised mum wasn’t normal when I was about six. She was paranoid and she suffered badly from depression.
“It was like she was bipolar but without the manic side. I would have to stand up to that and it made me desperately unhappy.”
Carol added that her mother refused to get help for her issues, and she was scared of the idea of “going into a mental institution” because of family history.
She said: “Mum was unhappy all the time but she never got any help. She was frightened of going into a mental institution because that’s what had happened to her aunt.”
Meanwhile, Carol has previously opened up about her exit fro ‘EastEnders’ 20 years ago, and suggested she was axed because of “an age thing”.
Speaking last month, she said: “I felt a real sense of rejection. Acting has always been my very first love and then it was suddenly completely unrequited.
“It was an age thing. There was a time when there were hardly any parts for someone of my age and in that soap as well, they were divided.
“It was the youngsters and the older people. That middle range of us, what we were, middle-aged I guess.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Thorp exercises to help with her anxiety.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who plays Nicola Rubenstein on the hit ITV soap – has opened up about her struggles for Mental Health Awareness week after she went for a run for the first time this year and she explained how it’s made her realise she has come out of a “bad patch”.
Posting a candid note on Twitter, she wrote: “I think most people have something they recognise within themselves that marks the end of a bad patch.
“Not having a cig first thing in the morning. Making a meal for themselves. Calling their nan, or listening to a particularly song… all simple everyday things that seemed impossible during the dark times.
“Mine is exercise. I tricked myself into doing it today.”
The soap star has spoken out to help inspire others who might be going through the same thing, as she admitted how difficult it has been for her.
Nicola, 30, said: “Despite knowing that exercise can be a huge help in the struggle against depression and anxiety, it’s the last thing I could face doing.
“It’s easy for friends and loved ones to say ‘go for a run’, ‘get outside, it’ll do you good’… but for complex and nuanced psychological reasons just walking to the shops sometimes feels like a marathon for some people.”
Meanwhile, she has recently been working on a documentary and campaigning about the way schools educate children about contraception.
Speaking last month, Nicola explained how she wants her “future daughter” to be with a boy who is clued up on safe sex.
She said: “I constantly have my future daughter in my mind, and when I think it’s not worth it, I do it for her or my future son.
“It’s about the next generation. There’s this stigma around periods and contraception – it’s about breaking down that stigma and embarrassment.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Edna Everage is returning to TV.
BBC One have unveiled plans for an “unforgettable” one-off special featuring the housewife superstar – the alter ego of Barry Humphries – which will take place onboard her luxury yacht and feature celebrity guests and musical performances.
Kate Philips, BBC’s controller of entertainment commissioning, said: “There’s nothing like a Dame Edna and I can’t wait for this unforgettable one-off special to hit our screens.”
Rachel Ashdown, BBC Commissioning Editor, added: “Over the past 50 years Dame Edna has got to grips with the world’s biggest stars and I am looking forward to seeing her welcome the current generation of celebrities to her sofa.”
And the star promised the show would be better than spending a “lifetime” on a cruise liner.
She said: “The world needs sunshine so I am very happy to welcome you all on board. One hour on my yacht is better than a lifetime on a cruise liner.”
The programme will be filmed in front of an audience and the staff on the yacht will include some “familiar faces”.
The special, which is provisionally simply titled ‘The Dame Edna Show’, will air later this year.
Barry, 85, recently announced a stage comeback for his flamboyant character, six years after a farewell tour, with shows set to take place in Australia and America.
Dame Edna’s last TV show was ‘The Dame Edna Treatment’, which aired on ITV in 2007 but she has made guest appearances on a number of TV shows since then, including ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’, as well as a cameo in the ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ movie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Packham has had more dead birds strung up outside his home
The ‘Springwatch’ presenter, who successfully campaigned for Natural England to revoke general licences needed to kill 16 species of “pest birds”, revealed last month he had received death threats and even had a pair of dead crows left outside his house, and now he’s confirmed to the Daily Mirror newspaper that the harassment has continued.
However, the 58-year-old star has no intention of backing down from his campaign, even though it has led to him pulling out of a dog festival in the New Forest because Dogstival organisers feared he would be targeted by protesters.
Chris felt it was right to step away from the event because he didn’t want it to be ruined by unwanted attention.
He told the Daily Echo newspaper: “It was the organisers’ decision. They have worked very hard to set up a fabulous event and don’t deserve to have been so viciously and relentlessly bullied by factions within the shooting fraternity.”
Dogstival co-founder Richard Nowell added: “We had to look at the issue of public safety and Chris’s safety as well.
“We could have had people outside the venue with placards or people inside trying to confront Chris.
“Despite his absence we’re hopeful it will still be a huge success – a great day out for dogs and dog-lovers.”
Meanwhile, Chris has praised his ‘Springwatch’ co-host Michaela Strachan for her support and concern over the abuse and threats he has received.
He said: “She, as ever, is supportive. She is not only a colleague but a friend. I’ve had a number of concerned messages from her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson “didn’t want to be here anymore” at her lowest point.
The ‘Love Island’ star has previously spoken about her mental health problems and has now recalled how she wanted to “give up” following the breakdown of a relationship two years ago which left her feeling numb.
She said: “I just felt like I wanted to give up, like there wasn’t any positive times, there wasn’t any sad times, I just felt a whole cloud over me of just like numbness and nothingness… I remember crying to my mum and saying basically ‘I really am not happy, I don’t wanna be here anymore’.”
Megan admitted she initially struggled to open up about her problems.
She told heat magazine: “I found it so difficult to open up because I just thought, ‘Am I crazy? Am I mental?’… I hate saying that because I think that’s where all the stigma comes from.”
But now the 25-year-old star thinks anyone with a “big platform” needs to be honest about their struggles in order to remove the stigma around mental health issues.
She said: “Everyone with a big platform needs to speak out about it because everyone suffers on some level. So, it shouldn’t be taboo and more people need to realise that it’s okay to feel, like, down or anxious.
“I think we’re slowly getting better with mental health in the UK. We’re speaking about it more openly but it’s still something we need to talk about more.”
And Megan has found ways to cope when she is struggling.
She said: “I thought there was no way I could get better – but there always is, and I did get better… for me, therapy, meditation and yoga really help.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora is to perform at ‘Soccer Aid’ as part of her new role as a UK ambassador for Unicef.
The 28-year-old pop star will sing during during half-time of the charity football match which takes place at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium in London on June 16 and will be broadcast live on ITV.
Rita has supported Unicef UK since 2013, when she featured in the charity’s ‘No Place Like Home’ video to help raise awareness of the refugee crisis in Syria, and she is beyond proud to now be an official ambassador.
The 28-year-old singer Rita also recently travelled to her native Kosovo earlier this year in support of the Soccer Aid for Unicef campaign to see how Unicef programmes are improving child health, childhood development and education in marginalised communities.
Speaking about her role with the organisation and ‘Soccer Aid’ show’, Rita said: “I’m beyond honoured to be appointed a Unicef UK Ambassador. Since 2013, I have learnt a great deal about Unicef and the amazing work they do to drive positive change for the children of our future. My recent trip to Kosovo allowed me to see Unicef’s wonderful work first hand back in my native country, and I am more determined than ever to utilise my position to support, campaign and advocate.

‘Soccer Aid’ will feature a match between an England XI, managed by ‘Good Morning ‘ co-host Susanna Reid and Sam Allardyce, and a World XI that boasts Harry Redknapp and Susanna’s ‘GMB’ co-host Piers Morgan as the gaffers.
The England side will feature former Liverpool striker Michael Owen, ex-Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, Olympic gold medallist Sir Mo Farah, Mark Wright and McFly’s Danny Jones among others.
The World XI includes 100m Olympic champion Usain Bolt, pop superstar Niall Horan, ‘Line of Duty’ actor Martin Compston, retired Tottenham Hotspur forward Robbie Keane and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam McKay ended his production partnership with Will Ferrell as it was time to “start anew”.
The 51-year-old director-and-producer had been working with Will, 51, under the banner of their company Gary Sanchez Productions for more than a decade on films such as ‘Vice’, ‘Step Brothers’, ‘Talladega Nights’ and the ‘Anchorman’ and ‘Daddy’s Home’ franchises, but last month they announced they would be bringing an end to their working relationship.
Adam has now revealed that it was “the best time” for the pair to cease their Gary Sanchez Productions business, however, he insists it would be “heartbreaking” to never work with Will again, and teased they have an idea “kicking around”.
Speaking to Empire, he said: “We both felt it had got pretty big and it was time to start up anew. It’s the best time.
“We have an idea we’re kicking around right now which we’d love to do. If he and I didn’t work together, that would be heartbreaking. We’re going to do everything we can to make sure that’s not the case.”
In a joint statement at the time, the pair said: “The last 13 years could not have been more enjoyable and satisfying for the two of us at Sanchez Productions. We give massive thanks to our incredible staff and executives and all the writers, directors and actors we worked with through the years.
“The two of us will always work together creatively and always be friends. And we recognise we are lucky as hell to end this venture as such.”
The announcement states that Gary Sanchez Productions – as well as its sister company Gloria Sanchez, which was set up in 2014 by Jessica Elbaum and focuses on female voices in comedy – will continue with all existing projects through completion and that all current projects will continue to be developed by the attached producers.
