Alison Hammond ‘scared for her life’ after Paul Hollywood took her for a ride in Lamborghini

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond was “scared for her life” after Paul Hollywood took her for a spin in his Lamborghini.
The 49-year-old TV star has been hosting Channel 4’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ with Paul, 58, since March 2023, and has revealed she was left shaken after he took her for a pulse-pounding ride in his sports car.
During an appearance on ‘Rob Beckett’s Smart TV’, she said: “He had this beautiful Lamborghini and I had to squeeze myself in, literally leaning over the his gear stick.
“He then took me for a ride and I’ve literally never been more scared in my life.
“I was just screaming all the way.”
Aside from ‘Bake Off’, the TV star had hosted ‘This Morning’ alongside 50-year-old Dermot O’Leary, though has since handed over the reigns to Cat Deeley, 47, and Ben Shepard, 49.
However, Alison revealed she “never” wanted to present the programme full time due to her other TV commitments.
When The Sunday Times asked if there had been any further discussions with ITV over her future as the show’s host, she said: “Absolutely not. How could I? I live in Birmingham and do ‘Bake Off’ and ‘For the Love of Dogs’. I never wanted that job. Last year, we did extra because we were going through issues, but Cat and Ben will save that show.”
The programme was plunged into controversy after 61-year-old Phillip Schofield left in May 2023, following an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger male colleague.
Even so, Alison refused to discuss the situation, and insisted she wished “the best” for the disgraced presenter.
She said: “Listen, I don’t want to get into salacious gossip. All I need to say is I personally wish Phillip Schofield all the best. I loved Phillip Schofield. Full stop. But that’s the last thing I would want to speak about.”

Coleen Nolan speaks out on infamous feud with Kim Woodburn: ‘She’s just a cleaning lady!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Nolan almost ended her career over her infamous feud with Kim Woodburn.
The 59-year-old star, best known as a panellist on ‘Loose Women’, appeared on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ alongside Kim, 81, in 2017 in which she was accused of “bullying” by the former cleaner.
Kim was then invited onto the ITV1 lunchtime chat show to clear the air but ended up storming off after a row, and when Coleen arrived in Sunderland on Thursday (21.03.24) for the latest stop on her ‘Naked’ tour, she claimed during a question and answer section with the audience she had warned producers that things would not pan out well.
She said: “It was exactly how I thought it was going to be and I told them that’s what she was gonna do but no one listened to me.
“And then I can honestly say it was the worst time of my life. I very nearly threw the towel in and thought I couldn’t do it anymore.

The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant – who shot to fame alongside her sisters as a member of the Nolans in the 1980s – is currently touring the country for the first time as a solo artist and opened her set with ‘Out Here On My Own’ from ‘Fame’.

The TV star slowed the tone down to dedicate the Faith Hill ballad ‘There You’ll Be’ to her late sister Bernie, who died in 2013 following a battle with breast cancer, before paying tribute to the girl bands who followed her own heyday with a medley of hits originally performed by the Spice Girls, Girls Aloud and Little Mix.
Coleen’s support act was her son Shane – who she has with first husband Shane Richie – and at one point the mother-and-son duo performed classic disco track ‘You To Me Are Everthing’ together before she performed ballads like ‘All I Ask’ by Adele, ‘Somewhere’ from ‘West Side Story’ and ‘This Is Me’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’, in a nod to her presenting
work on TV charity cancer special ‘The Real Full Monty”.
Coleen closed the show with the Nolans’ biggest hit ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’.

Gwyneth Paltrow: There can only be so many good superhero movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow knows that there can only be “so many” good superhero movies.
The 51-year-old star appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Pepper Potts but agrees with ‘American Fiction’ filmmaker Cord Jefferson’s assertion at the Oscars that studios are wasting too much money on the genre.
Speaking on ‘First We Feast’s Hot Ones’, Gwyneth said: “I absolutely understand where he’s coming from. You want the best chance to have a strong return on investment. People put a lot of money into these things and they want them to be profitable.
“But if I look at the industry as a whole, this big push into superhero movies … you can only make so many good ones that feel truly original, and yet they’re still always trying to reach as many people as possible, which sometimes hinders quality or specificity or real point of view.
“You get more diversity of art when there is less at stake and people can express their true voice and make a film the way they want to make it. Those are generally the more resonant ones.”
The subject of ‘superhero fatigue’ has been discussed recently with blockbusters such as ‘The Marvels’ flopping at the box office but Paltrow’s MCU co-star Chris Evans recently came to the defence of the genre and stressed that the films “aren’t easy to make”.
The Captain America actor said: “They are these big, giant movies. There’s a lot of cooks in the kitchen. But the empirical evidence is in: They are not easy to make.
“If it was easier, there would be a lot more good ones.
“I’m not throwing shade! I’ve been a part of a few that missed. It happens. Making a movie is tough. More cooks in the kitchen doesn’t make it easier.”

Gil Kenan was able to show Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire story to the late Ivan Reitman

OHMYGOSSIP — Gil Kenan was able to share the ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ story with the original movie’s director Ivan Reitman before his death.
The 47-year-old filmmaker has helmed the latest picture in the supernatural franchise and admits that the approval of the late director – who passed away aged 75 in 2022 – kept the crew going through the writing process.
Gil told The Hollywood Reporter: “We pitched an almost complete version of this film’s story outline to Ivan before his passing, and that was really meaningful.
“Obviously, we didn’t know that he wouldn’t be with us for the film, but his validation of the pitch and his joy at hearing it was something that kept us going through the writing.”
Ivan’s son Jason Reitman – who had been behind the camera on the 2021 flick ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ – decided not to direct ‘Frozen Empire’ and Kenan was “honoured” to be given the chance to follow in the family’s footsteps on the beloved movies.
The ‘Monster House’ director said: “It was an evolving conversation, and I’m obviously very grateful to Jason for entrusting me with his family’s franchise.
“But I’m also really grateful that I was able to have a front row seat to the profound passing of the torch that took place on ‘Afterlife’ between Ivan and Jason.”
Gil revealed that he hopes to make another movie to complete the story for Phoebe Spengler (Mckenna Grace).
He explained: “If we’re lucky enough to get to tell another one of these films, Jason and I are primed and ready to continue the Phoebe Spengler saga.
“We agree that the single most important decision we had to make at the start of this process was to take this from something that was a group of people who came together with a shared purpose, which was starting a business, to making it about a family saga with one character at the centre of it. And that was Phoebe Spengler.”

Cillian Murphy to return as Tommy Shelby for Peaky Blinders film

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy will “definitely” return for the ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie.
The BBC drama’s creator Steven Knight has confirmed that the ‘Oppenheimer’ star will reprise his role as gangster Tommy Shelby in the big-screen adaptation of the drama that will be filmed later this year.
Speaking to Birmingham World at the premiere of his new BBC series ‘This Town’, Knight said: “He definitely is returning for it. We’re shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth.”
The Oscar-winner’s return as Tommy Shelby is unsurprising as he has often talked about his interest in playing the character in a film as long as the script was of sufficient quality.
Cillian told Rolling Stone UK last year: “If there’s more story there, I’d love to do it.
“But it has to be right. Steve Knight wrote 36 hours of television, and we left on such a high. I’m really proud of that last series. So, it would have to feel legitimate and justified to do more.”
The 47-year-old actor added to the Irish Star last month: “I have always said that if Knight delivers a script that I know he can deliver, because he is such a phenomenal writer, I’ll be there…. If we want to watch 50-year-old Tommy Shelby, I will be there. Let’s do it.”
‘Peaky Blinders’ aired to critical acclaim on the BBC between 2013 and 2022 and Knight has always been clear about his plans to adapt the Birmingham-set series for the cinema.
He told Esquire: “The film, I know exactly what it’s about. And I know what two stories it’s going to tell.
“What will happen after that, I want that to depend on the film. For all we know somebody is going to pop out – I think I know who it’s going to be.”

Ruth Jones: ‘Never say never to Gavin and Stacey reunion!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Jones is refusing to dismiss the idea of a ‘Gavin and Stacey’ reunion.
The 57-year-old actress played Nessa on and wrote the BBC Three comedy with Smithy actor James Corden, 45.
Even though the cast have not been seen together since the 2019 Christmas special, Ruth has now revealed she will “never say never” to another ‘Gavin and Stacey’ one-off special.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ alongside Elbow rocker Guy Garvery, 50, and 54-year-old Hollywood star Paul Rudd, the host asked Ruth: “Will we ever see them all together again?”
The actress replied: “Who knows, you never say never in this world do you? I don’t know.”
Zoe then quipped: “No plans yet, unless she’s bluffing, she’s got a good poker face… .”
The festive special of ‘Gavin and Stacey’ ended on the memorable cliffhanger of Smithy proposing to Nessa, and Ruth has insisted she “doesn’t know” how her character reacted.
Zoe said: “[I] have to ask you, everyone always says, Smithy is still waiting for an answer from Nessa after that proposal?”
Ruth responded: “Is he though? Is he waiting? We don’t know. James and I think those characters exist and that Nessa is still working down the slots in Barry Island at the moment.
“We like to think their lives are carrying on down there.”
Previously, it was rumoured the cast of ‘Gavin and Stacey’, including Mathew Horne (who played Gavin) Joanna Page (Stacey) Alison Steadman (Pam) and Larry Lamb (Mick) would be reuniting once again for another one-off this year, with the BBC and Netflix being caught in a bidding war over the episode.
However, Ruth insisted the story was “sadly a rumour”.
She told RTE Radio 1: “All I can say is, if there was something to say on that front, James and I would happily announce it, we would.
“Apparently there’s a bidding war going on between the BBC and Netflix and I love it because it says, ‘a source says’, who is this source?”
The actress then theorised that the rumours came to be after she was pictured having lunch with James in the UK after he had finished his time as ‘The Late Late Show’ presenter.
She added: “Then the next thing is, ‘Oh my god they must be writing more ‘Gavin and Stacey’, which is lovely.
“It’s lovely that people are so desperate for it because imagine if it was the opposite and were like, ‘Oh, god, you’re not bringing that back again’.”

Paul Hollywood reckons Taylor Swift could go on Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood thinks Taylor Swift could appear on ‘The Great British Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer’ special’ following Blake Lively’s interest in taking part in the show.
The 58-year-old TV baker has appeared on ‘The Great British Bake Off’ spin-off since 2018, and has welcomed plenty of star-studded guests into the tent over the years.
Paul has now revealed ‘Shake It Off’ singer Taylor, 34, could join the show for a “Hollywood edition” with her 36-year-old actress friend Blake.
He told Best magazine: “Blake really wants to do it. I mean, she really, really wants to do it and I think she was talking about getting in a couple of friends, and she mentioned Taylor Swift.
“I was like, ‘Listen, if you can get those guys into the tent, get them into the tent’. ‘Bake Off: The Hollywood Edition’.”
Paul added having Taylor and Blake in the tent wouldn’t be the first time the Channel 4 programme has had interest from movie stars, as Marvel actors Ryan Reynolds, 47, and Hugh Jackman, 55, had once visited the set dressed as their superhero characters.
He said: “Ryan Reynolds walked into the tent fully dressed as Deadpool. We had a good laugh together.
“Wolverine was there as well, so we had Hugh Jackman.”
‘The Great British Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer’ is currently back on screens, and sees stars such as 50-year-old Leigh Francis, comedian Rhod Gilbert, 55, 42-year-old singer Paloma Faith and ‘Doctor Who’ actress Jodie Whittaker, 41, take to the tent to show off their culinary skills.
Reflecting on the special, Paul said he was “happy” to see what tasty treats the stars could create.
He said: “I was happy to see Leigh as I’ve met him a few times. And Rhod Gilbert, who has been through the mill with cancer, was a giggle.
“I’ve met Paloma Faith before ad she was so sweet and loved to get stuck in.
“And of course, it’s fantastic to meet the Doctor – I mean Jodie Whittaker, she’s such a lovely woman.”

Billie Piper admits she kept whip and undies from ‘The Secret Diary of a Call Girl’

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Piper kept her whip and underwear from ‘The Secret Diary of a Call Girl’.
The pop singer-turned actress, 41, starred in the ITV2 show from 2007 to 2011 as Hannah Baxter, who lived a double life as an escort, and revealed she had taken the props while opening up about how she has a habit of keeping items from her TV shows and movies.
She tells Saturday (23.03.24) night’s edition of ITV’s ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’: “I take things from set, I see things, I take them… loads of things, rings, costume jewellery.
“I actually have a whip and some underwear from ‘The Secret Diary of a Call Girl.’”
Billie also admitted to taking “loads” of props from her time on BBC One’s ‘Doctor Who’, in which she starred as the Timelord’s sidekick Rose Tyler from 2005 to 2006, before returning to the show in 2008, 2010 and 2013.
She said: “I took loads of stuff from the TARDIS, the main central console.”
The mum-of-three – who has two sons with her actor ex Laurence Fox, 45, and a daughter with her former husband, Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd – added despite her fame her eldest doesn’t care about her career.
She said: “My elder one couldn’t (care less), which I actually like – I think that’s a healthier response.
“I think I’ve got a fan in my youngest child, she will watch my music videos and ask to play my songs in the car and I’ll oblige.
“They have no interest in me being in ‘Doctor Who’ but they will come to a convention where there’s access to real famous people, genuine stars if there is access to ‘Stranger Things’, Marvel or ‘Lord of the Rings.’”
Turning to how she came into showbiz as a teen, Billie added: “I was 14 when I signed my record deal, the same age as my eldest son which blows my mind but he isn’t that interested which I think is fine.”
Billie was joined on Jonathan’s show by Mel B, Paul Rudd and comic Leo Reich.
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ is on at 9.35pm on Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX.

Bobby Brazier and Ellie Leach split

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Brazier and Ellie Leach have split.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor and the ‘Coronation Street’ actress started dating after competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year and went on to take part in the spin-off arena tour from January to February.
However, the pair are now believed to have called time on their whirlwind romance.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Love blossomed between them when they were in close quarters on the tour, but once that ended they both spent much less time together.
“That gave them space to think about the future, which is likely to take them in very different directions over the coming year or two.
“So they decided the best thing to do was quit while they were ahead and while they were still pals, because they both really cherish the friendship they have.”
Meanwhile Bobby’s former ‘EastEnders’ co-star Danielle Harold previously revealed her nan thought the pair were dating.
The 31-year-old actress sparked speculation she’d struck up a romance with her former ‘EastEnders’ co-star after they were pictured looking cosy after the National Television Awards last year and though she insisted the 20-year-old actor was just being the “biggest gent” and came to her aid after she struggled to walk in her high-heeled shoes, even her grandmother thought they were a couple.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper’s ‘Invite Only’ podcast: “Poor Bobby. He must think, ‘Oh look, I’m getting attached to this old bird’. I’m like, ‘Sorry Bobby, it keeps me looking young, so…’
“Bless him, he was just being the biggest gent that night (the pictures were taken) because I could not walk in my shoes at all. We were at the NTAs. And our car left us, like, all the way around the back.
“I said, ‘Bobby, I can’t, I can’t, listen, I can’t walk.’ He was like, ‘Yes, you can.’ He was just being a gent and now he gets named as my boyfriend every two minutes. Bless him. You just laugh, and go that’s just how it is.
“Even my nan thought I was with Bobby. She said, ‘That was a lovely picture of you and your new boyfriend. I was like, ‘No nan, I’m not going out with Bobby.’ She’s so sweet.”

Ryan Coogler working on a Prince musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Coogler is working on a Prince movie musical.
The ‘Black Panther’ director is set to produce a new movie for Universal Pictures based on Prince’s extensive song collection, according to The InSneider newsletter.
Coogler will produce the jukebox musical project alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, Atom Factory’s Troy Carter and Universal Music Publishing Group chair Jody Gerson.
Proximity Media’s Rebecca Cho will executive produce.
The film – which was written by Bryan Edward Hill – has been in development since 2018.
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that Ryan and his frequent collaborator Michael B. Jordan are reuniting for a new top-secret project.
The filmmaker and actor have worked together on Coogler’s 2013 directorial debut ‘Fruitvale Station’, 2015 ‘Rocky’ spin-off ‘Creed’ and the ‘Black Panther’ MCU movies, and now they are set to collaborate again.
The Hollywood Reporter shared in January that Coogler, 37, had a new script ready to go – the first under the banner of his new production company, Proximity Media – that is based on an original idea, and Coogler had turned to Jordan, 36, to be his leading man once again.
The project was described as a genre feature with a period element.
In January, studio executives and buyers went to the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency that represents Coogler and Jordan, to view the script and be informed about plot details by Coogler.
Jordan is set to continue his story as heavyweight champion boxer Adonis Creed – the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky’s most famous opponent – in a fourth ‘Creed’ film.
The Hollywood star made his directorial debut on 2023’s ‘Creed III’, which was the first film in the ‘Rocky’ series not to feature creator Sylvester Stallone as heroic fighter Rocky Balboa.

Conor McGregor ‘absorbed information’ from Jake Gyllenhaal on Road House set

OHMYGOSSIP — Conor McGregor “absorbed information like a sponge” while working with Jake Gyllenhaal on ‘Road House’.
The 35-year-old UFC star makes his acting debut opposite Jake in the remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie and he’s admitted he took time to learn everything he could from his co-star and their director Doug Liman.
He told Heyuguys.com: “I would have been in no shape to do this without Jake G and director Doug Liman. I absorbed the information like a sponge off of them and I was asking questions every single day. Every single set. Every single scene. And I’m blessed. I really am … I landed on my feet right at the top.
“Jake is a veteran of the game. Doug Liman is a veteran of the game.”
He went on to insist he plays a role in his public life as a fighter and those skills lent themselves well to acting. Conor added: “I’m definitely playing a role. No one knows the real Connor and that lends itself well to this craft … I feel like I could play any role.”
When asked what his idea next role would be, the sports star replied: “I’m happy with this one for the minute. It took a lot of hard work to do this one. I’ll, just regroup after this, get back into the gym and get ready for a fight.”
It comes after Mark Wahlberg revealed he wants Conor to star in one of his movies.
The 51-year-old actor revealed he would jump at the chance to feature the UFC star in one of his films, saying that he believes Conor, 34, has what it takes to make it in Hollywood.
When questioned on the Barstool Sports podcast ‘Pardon My Take’, about Conor previously challenging him to a fight, Mark said: “You know it’s funny because I was talking to Ari [Emanuel – Mark’s agent] and Dana [White – UFC President] when the whole thing was happening and they were just kind of joking around, throwing out some numbers and my son came up to me and he goes ‘Dad, don’t you dare. Don’t even think about it.’ My 16-year-old.
“I’ve been a huge of the UFC and I’m a huge fan of Conor. I think what he has been able to do for himself and the sport is fantastic. I think he was just frustrated because when WME bought the UFC, he was the one driving the business, so he was a little frustrated that guys were buying it and making money.
“I gotta get Conor to be in a movie. In the right movie, absolutely.”

There’s no textbook, right or wrong way to deal with a diagnosis and treatment. It’s personal and I really hope all can #bekind and support our Princess. Sending all my well wishes with treatment ahead and as always to all those affected by cancer.”
Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year, and underwent a mastectomy in July.
And, earlier this month she took to the dance floor backstage at the West End’s ‘Mamma Mia’ show after she was given the all-clear in February.

After being told she was cancer-free, Amy took to Instagram to share the news and thank her husband Benjamin Jones for his “unconditional” support.
She penned: “NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE! Words I dreamed of! My biggest accomplishment yet!
“I won’t be getting the all clear for 5 years especially with a hormone fed cancer. But it was all worth it. Words I never thought I’d hear at one point.
“So grateful for all the care I received and continue to have. To my husband, family and friends who supported me unconditionally and to you guys! Thank you!”
The TV star also emphasised she was determined to return to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after being forced to drop out of the show once she began chemotherapy.
