OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Humble has been left “doubled over” in pain due to the grief she feels over the death of her father.
The former ‘Springwatch’ host’s dad Nick passed away earlier this year at the age of 82 and Kate revealed she finds revisiting the memories of her dad emotionally overwhelming because her grief is still so raw.
And when she is out walking in the countryside, the wildlife presenter often finds her mind wandering to memories of her father.
In an interview with Saga magazine, Kate shared: “Being on my own and being in the countryside, it doesn’t matter that I’m wailing – and it has really helped. In that time, I’m not lonely. I have this luxury of solitude and time just to remember. The lovely thing about walking is I can spend that time with my dad.”
Speaking about the physical affect her grief has sometimes had on her, she added she has sometimes been “doubled over” in pain “sometimes in company but often on my own and often when I’m walking”.
Kate was always very close to her father Nick, who had a career with IBM, and always respected his “hard-working” and “principled” character traits and she admits they share a “similar temperament”.
The 50-year-old presenter – who grew up in Berkshire with her father and mother Diana – said: “Dad was incredibly hard-working, stubborn, very principled and hot-tempered – all of which I am, too.
“We’d argue because of our similar temperament, but I did, and still do, worship my dad. He was the best storyteller – no one could read Winnie-the-Pooh like him, with all the different characters’ voices.
“Mum was much calmer and the peacekeeper of the family – she was the family anchor.”
Kate – who has been married to television Ludo Graham since 1992 – has no children of her own but she has no regrets because she always knew being a mother was “not for her.”
She said: “I know motherhood was not for me and, literally, it bypassed me. Not being a mum has never been an issue.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dean Gaffney will return to ‘EastEnders’ on June 3.
The 41-year-old actor plays Robbie Jackson in the BBC soap, and after his character has been spending time in India doing some “soul searching”, it has now been confirmed he’ll return to Walford in just under two weeks time on Monday, June 3.
The news was confirmed in a short synopsis of the episode, which indicates he won’t becoming back to Albert Square “alone”.
It reads: “Kat drops a bombshell leaving Stacey furious. Robbie returns to the Square but he’s not alone. Tensions simmer between Phil and Louise.”
The soap’s official website also hints his half-sister Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) will be confused by his “odd” behaviour, but gives no other plot details away.
Back in March, Dean revealed his character had headed to India to “right some wrongs”, and hinted that he might come back to Walford with a new love interest.
He said: “Robbie has been off in India soul-searching. He’s gone to right some wrongs, cross some T’s and dot some I’s. When he comes back, which is not too long now, is he alone, has he found love?”
And in November last year, Dean said he was desperate for Robbie to find love again after he and ex-girlfriend Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) split up over the summer, and at the time had his sights set on Minute Mart employee Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton).
He said at the time: “Honey is good, I think Honey’s a good character because she’s kind of ditzy, a bit like Robbie.
“It would work well, I think.
“He had a great time with Donna, obviously, and now she’s gone he’s kind of moping around the Square.
“It would be nice to get a bit of love back in his life.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gloria Hunniford was shocked when she accidentally discovered a sex toy in a woman’s bag during filming for TV series ‘Rip Off Britain’.
The 79-year-old television presenter was shooting a vox pop at Manchester Trafford Centre for the BBC show and went bright red with embarrassment when she discovered the dildo in a woman’s bag after she was stopping passersby randomly.
When she discovered the erotic aid – which had just been purchased from high street sex shop Ann Summers – she shrieked: “I’ve never used one of those!”
But to save the blonde further embarrassment the BBC have decided to leave the clip out of the show.
Gloria appears on the show – which exposes the complaints of viewers who feel they have been ripped off by national consumers – alongside Angela Rippon and Julia Somerville.
And an insider commented that the television legend – who has also been a regular reporter on ‘This Morning’ and ‘The One Show’ – is usually not easily embarrassed but could not keep a straight face during this episode.
The source told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “Gloria is a national treasure and a total pro and nothing much fazes her but even she was lost for words when she pulled this out.”
Gloria is a regular panellist on ‘Loose Women’ and previously credited the show for encouraging women of all ages to talk freely about sex.
The TV icon – who is married to Stephen Way – said: “Particularly when I’m in Ireland, very old women will say to me behind the back of the hand, ‘I love that ‘Loose Women’ show, because you talk about sex and we were never allowed to talk about sex. If my mother knew I was talking about sex live on TV she’d turn over, because it’s not something you did. What I like about modern society is how open we all are.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Worth says ‘Coronation Street’ is a “fabulous place to work”, despite a number of stars announcing their exit.
The 68-year-old actress has been playing Gail Platt on the ITV soap since 1974, and has defended the show as “fantastic” amid the likes of Bhavna Limbachia (Rana Habeeb), Connie Hyde (Gina Seddon), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor) and Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) all announcing their departures within three months of each other.
When asked about the rumours about “morale” on the soap during an appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (24.05.19), Helen said: “It’s fantastic, it’s a fabulous place to work. I work with an amazing family, and have been working with them for a long time. Everyone who joins us seems to join in with us.”
The actress did admit that working in Weatherfield is “hard work”, but insists she “wouldn’t change” a single thing about her 45 years on the show.
She added: “Yes it’s hard work, there are six episodes a week, but the camaraderie is fantastic and we’re all in it together. I wouldn’t have changed any of it, really.”
Helen’s comments echo those made by 25-year-old Sam Aston – who has played Chesney Brown on the show since 2003 – earlier this week, when he said reports of a “mass exodus” have been “blown out of proportion” and insisted the cast and crew are “well looked after”.
He explained: “It’s been blown out of proportion.
“Anyone who’s leaving will genuinely say ‘Corrie’ is one of the best places to work.
“We get well looked after and the cast and crew are great. It’s a privilege to be part of such an amazing show.”
Although the departure of several cast members has sparked speculation into backstage drama, Lucy Fallon recently insisted her decision to leave was made a long time ago.
She wrote: “Just to clarify, my decision to leave was made in August last year and has nothing to do with ANYONE at Coronation Street. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Stanley wants to see her ‘EastEnders’ character come face to face with her former partners.
The 42-year-old actress plays Karen Taylor in the BBC soap, who has multiple children by different fathers, and has said she’d love to see Karen’s ex-partners arrive on Albert Square to stir up some drama.
Lorraine is mother to Keanu (Danny Walters), Bernadette (Clair Norris), Riley (Tom Jacobs), and Chatham (Alfie Jacobs), whom she has with three separate men. She is also mother to Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) and Keegan (Zack Morris), whom she has with her ex-husband Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths).
Asked if the soap would ever bring in Keanu’s father, Lorraine said: “Yeah, I hope so. I think, at the moment, the Taylors have got enough on their plate. But I reckon that is probably, I’m guessing, in the pipeline.
“And Bernie’s dad as well. And Riley and Chatham’s dad! God, how many dads? They’re all different. Bernie’s dad is different. Chatham and Riley’s dad is different. And Keanu’s dad is different. Obviously Mitch is Chantelle and Keegan’s dad. Four fathers.”
The actress joked that introducing so many new characters would help guarantee she’d be “in the show for another two years at least!”
And Lorraine also spoke about how things have changed since new bosses Kate Oates and Jon Sen have come on board, and said she can’t wait to see how much “better” the soap becomes.
Speaking to DigitalSpy, she said: “They’re great people, and I think they’re going to bring so much to it. ‘EastEnders’ is just getting better and better. I mean, I’ve always loved it. I’ve watched it from day one. I’m a big ‘EastEnders’ fan and I think we’re in a really good place, and so are the Taylors.
“I think they’ve got some great storylines for us and the rest of the cast. I think we’re smashing it at the minute. It feels good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Coronation Street’ star Wendi Peters is set to star in a special concert performance of ‘The Clockmaker’s Daughter’.
The 51-year-old actress will take on an as yet unannounced role in the new musical, for a special concert performance at Cadogan Hall in London on June 16.
Wendi will be joined by theatre actors including Fra Fee, Christine Allado, Lauren James Ray, and Graham Hoadly, who all appeared on the musical’s album soundtrack which hit shelves in February this year.
‘The Clockmaker’s Daughter’ was written by Michael Webborn and Daniel Finn and is a folk fairytale musical set in the fictional Irish town of Spindlewood.
The musical premiered at the Landor Theatre in 2015, and the special concert performance will be conducted by Webborn and directed by Mark Hedges.
For Wendi, the role comes as she’s worked extensively on stage in both plays and musicals since bowing out of her role as Cilla Battersby-Brown in the ITV soap.
Wendi became a household name for her performance as Cilla, whom she began playing in 2003, before leaving the soap in 2007. She later returned to the programme for just three weeks in 2014 after a seven year absence.
And despite having not been on screens in the role for five years, Wendi has said she would “consider” bringing Cilla back to Weatherfield once again.
Speaking in September last year, she said: “I love the variety of theatre but never say never to returning. I went back in 2014 for a short time and would consider it again if the storyline was right.
“Cilla was such a popular character, which is crazy because she was so in your face. People just loved to hate her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lucy will be returning to ‘Hollyoaks’ permanently in June.
The 37-year-old actor came back to the Channel 4 soap to reprise his role as Luke Morgan in 2017 after having previously featured on the show from 1999 to 2002, but took another break last year when his character was put behind bars.
And now, Gary has confirmed he will become a permanent fixture on the soap at the end of next month, once he’s had some time off after touring with stage musical ‘The Full Monty’.
When asked on ‘This Morning’ on Friday (24.05.19) whether he would be returning to the show as a permanent member, he said: “Yeah, yeah I’ll start back at the end of June. I need a holiday first, I’ve just finished touring, I’m so jet lagged.”
Luke has been the focus of some hart-hitting storylines in the past, however it’s now his on-screen son Ollie Morgan (Aedan Duckworth) who is at the forefront of the show, and is seen getting his life back on track after being the centre of a harrowing child abuse case with his football coach Buster Smith.
‘Footballer’s Wives’ star Gary explained that he was involved with the “creative process” of the plotline and was “really impressed” with the care producers and writers took while creating the story.
He said: “I was part of the creative process on this one which was fantastic … I was part of that and they had Survivors Manchester in and I was really impressed with how much they really take it seriously.”
Gary added that he feels the storyline has enabled others to speak out.
He continued: “Back in the day it was letters, all the letters we got and now with social media.
“A lot of the people that wrote to us said thank you and said through watching our storyline, that gave them the courage to [speak out] and that’s happened all over the place.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain based her ‘Dark Phoenix’ character on Tilda Swinton.
The 42-year-old actress plays the mysterious ‘Smith’ in the ‘X-Men’ film – an “other-worldly creature” with the ability to shapeshift – and Jessica revealed that Tilda inspired her alter ego as she’s an “elevated form of a human being” that she can imagine “ruling over some planet”.
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, she said: “I play an other-worldly creature. I was told I am not allowed to say that I play an alien, but basically I play an alien. I am a shapeshifter, so I am supposed to look like an elevated form of a human being. The one person I think of that way is Tilda Swinton. I’m not convinced she’s a human being! I think she is ruling over some planet somewhere like the goddess she is.”
‘Dark Phoenix’ is a direct sequel to ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and the seventh and final instalment in the main ‘X-Men’ series. The plot follows Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey as she loses control of her abilities and unleashes the ‘Phoenix’.
Michael Fassbender – who will reprise his role as Magneto in the film for the fourth time – went on explain that it “feels good” to be coming to the end of the franchise, and feels it was the right time for Jean Grey to take centre stage.
He said: “It’s the last one and it feels good. We’ve got a great run at it with four films and I feel really lucky to be part of it.
“What’s really cool is that we are finishing off with a really good film and that Jean Grey gets center stage. She is the most powerful mutant in the saga, so it would be weird if she didn’t get her own film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift spent “four months” at cat school preparing for her role in the ‘Cats’ movie.
The 29-year-old singer plays the flirty feline Bombalurina in the live-action adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic stage musical, and she went to special classes to teach her how to act like a pussy and although she only had to stay for three days, the ‘ME!’ hitmaker stayed much longer as she had “much more fun” than other cast members.
Being interviewed on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Taylor said: “I had to go to cat school to learn how to move and behave. I was meant to go for three days and I stayed for four months! I had much more fun than anyone else.”
The upcoming film – which also stars the likes of Idris Elba, James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Dame Judi Dench and Jennifer Hudson – follows a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and Idris, 46, previously insists that Taylor was simply “great” whilst they were filming and made the transition from music to movies seamlessly.
The ‘Luther’ star said: “Taylor was great, her and I had a lot of work to do together, and she was amazing. She worked hard and was just happy to be there.”
Idris plays villainous cat Macavity and although appearing in a musical was “new territory” for the British actor he insisted he enjoyed the challenge.
He said: “It was all really new to me, but I know the songs, of course, so I was sort of in new territory, but it was really liberating. It was so much fun playing that big Macavity character.”
Taylor has three pet pussies, Olivia Benson, Meredith Grey and Benjamin Button, and she loves her animals because they’re independent and are “capable of dealing with their own life”.
She previously said: “They’re really great. They’re very dignified. They’re very independent. They’re very capable of dealing with their own life. And if you fit into that on that day, they’ll make some time for you. Maybe. I just really respect it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino is considering making ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’ longer.
The 56-year-old director revealed that he’s going to “explore” the possibility of extending his ninth film, which currently sits at the running time of 2 hours and 39 minutes, the length of the version that played at its premiere in Cannes earlier this week.
Tarantino hinted that he “may make it longer” and says the first cut of the film ran for about four hours and 20 minutes before he and editor Fred Raskin cut the film down.
Speaking to Slash Film, he said: “I wouldn’t take anything else out. I’m going to explore possibly putting something back in. If anything, I wanted to go to Cannes too short. If I’m going to err, I’m going to err on too tight.”
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ filmmaker previously insisted that ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’ is his “most personal” film because it is inspired by his own childhood.
Quentin considers his highly anticipated film – which is set 1969 Los Angeles and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as television star Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt as his long-time stunt double and Margot Robbie as movie star Sharon Tate – to be a “love letter” to the last moments of Hollywood’s golden age and he considers the story to be a “memory piece” about Los Angeles, the city where he grew up and that fuelled his passion for cinema.
He said: “[The film is] probably my most personal. I think of it like my memory piece.
“Alfonso [Cuarón] had ‘Roma’ and Mexico City, 1970. I had LA and 1969. This is me. This is the year that formed me. I was six years old then. This is my world. And this is my love letter to LA.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden says the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judges have gotten softer since becoming parents.
The 48-year-old television presenter thinks the reason her fellow judges Simon Cowell and Alicia Dixon have been seen weeping on this year’s show is because they have become more sensitive now they’ve had children.
Simon welcomed his son Eric into the world with his partner Lauren Silverman five years ago, the same year Alicia gave birth to her daughter Azura, whom she has with husband Azuka Ononye.
When Amanda – who has two daughters of her own, 13-year-old Alexa and seven-year-old Hollie – appeared on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Friday (24.05.19) and was quizzed about having “toughened up” on screen, she replied: “I’ve left it to Alicia now. When Alicia had her little girl … she was hard as nails when she joined, now she weeps everywhere! It’s like a competition to see whose tear can drop first.”
Zoe then added that “even Simon has started crying now”, and Amanda replied: “I know, it is a part of being a parent. You just turn into an emotional wreck!”
Meanwhile, fourth judge David Walliams – who is the only critique on the panel without kids – blubbed like a baby when pupils from Flakefleet Primary in Fleetwood, Lancashire, did a performance of Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ for their audition, which prompted David to press his golden buzzer.
Speaking about the sweet moment, Amanda said: “When his golden buzzer came on, he had a full on break down.
“I cried more at him crying at the act. He’s a giant of a man and he’s very sensitive and funny. But I’ve never seen that side of him ever. It was truly madly deeply snot – the whole lot!”
Amanda added she especially enjoyed being “sewn in half” by magician Dan Rhodes because she loved watching such acts when she was younger.
She said: “I was a big fan of Debbie McGee and Paul Daniels. I was always like, “I want to be a magician’s assistant.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness yells at his hair to give it motivation to grow.
The 45-year-old television presenter sports a short haircut, but has admitted he completes a bizarre ritual of shouting “grow” at the hair on his head every Sunday morning, in an effort to stop him from going bald.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I like to shout ‘grow’ at my hair. It’s my Sunday motivation each week. I do shout it at other body parts too – but to no luck.”
Paddy claims to have found the unusual method of hair growth in a book about old wives’ tales.
And it’s not just his hair health that the star needs to get in check either, as he’s been forced to get a whole host of “inoculations” in preparation for visiting the “far-flung” destinations laid out for the new series of ‘Top Gear’, which he is co-presenting with Andrew Flintoff and Chris Harris.
He said recently: “I’m not very well travelled. Portugal is about as far as I’ve been. But now I’ve got to go to all these far-flung places. It’s great but they’ve sent me a list of inoculations and there’s stuff I’ve never heard of.
“There’s something called Japanese enchilada, or something like that. We’re not even going to Japan but I’ve got to get this injection.”
‘Top Gear’ is set to return to screens next month, and Paddy recently admitted that despite his successful career, he still gets “nervous” before filming and has a special ritual to help calm him down.
He said: “I get nervous before everything I do. I always have done. I think it’s good to be nervous, otherwise you can get complacent.
“Filming these shows can get a bit manic so, before every show, I try and have five minutes on my own to gather my thoughts – then out I go!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonnie Peacock says some ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestants need “a little shot” of alcohol before hitting the dance floor.
The Paralympian appeared on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition in 2017 with dance partner Oti Mabuse, and has said that whilst he was “mostly sober” during the live shows, there were a few times where he needed a drink to help him get through the nerve-wracking performances.
He said: “At the time, I didn’t even dance when I was out and pretty drunk, so to go out and do it sober – or mostly sober – in front of quite a few people was quite tricky.”
And when asked to clarify what he meant by “mostly”, the 25-year-old star said many contestants in the past have needed some Dutch courage before the live shows.
He added: “Maybe occasionally [I had a drink]. We had a Christmas special, that was a fun one. We didn’t have to worry too much about remembering steps, so we could go for it.
“The producers did tell us a couple of stories [afterwards]. I think with some people, they could smell the breath just before they went out for the show and they got a little bit panicked when they started forgetting steps! But, maybe a little shot doesn’t hurt.”
Jonnie was voted off the competition during the Blackpool Tower special in week nine of the series, but says he still had a “great” time.
He said: “For me, it was great fun, it was an incredible experience and an incredibly scary one too. But I made some great memories and met some great people and just had fun.”
And despite not being crowned victorious, the loss of the top spot hasn’t put him off trying his hand at other reality shows, as he says he won’t rule out any future opportunities.
When asked by HuffPost UK if he would ever appear on any other reality shows or competitions, he said: “I’m not sure about that. [But] I like to live by crossing each bridge as I come to it, so who knows what the future will hold?”

OHMYGOSSIP — France has created its own version of ‘Fleabag’.
The critically acclaimed British series – which Phoebe Waller-Bridge created and starred in as the titular character – was so popular in France that the country has commissioned a French language adaptation, which follows the original story almost scene for scene.
The French version is titled ‘Mouche’ – which means “fly” in French – and follows the life a woman by the same name, who is being played by French actress Camille Cottin, and is set in Paris against the backdrop of bridges over the Seine, rather than London.
Writer and director, Jeanne Herry, told France Inter radio this week: “The English version is excellent, so I don’t see why you’d change it. I didn’t want to be adding things in.
“It was about making sure it sounded right in France, so that it really seemed anchored in France. We found it worked with Paris decor and costumes. It’s a series that is not so much about England or English culture but about the times we’re living in.
“Those times we’re living in have a similar impact across Europe and the western world and similar themes – personal connection, the difficulties of talking at the heart of families. It’s all so universal that the connection worked.”
And Camille – who is most known to UK viewers for her role in the French comedy series ‘Call My Agent’ – said she loved ‘Fleabag’ instantly and knew it was a very special story.
Detailing how she discovered the series through her sister, the 40-year-old actress explained: “She said: ‘You have to see this, the sisters are us.’ I watched it and it made me hysterical with joy and happiness.”
She also added that she was taken by the endearing main character “who, faced with grief, unhappiness and despair, puts on this sunny, dazzling front when inside she’s destroyed.”
‘Mouche’ will air on Canal+ from June 3.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Riley has announced she is pregnant.
The ‘Countdown’ star has announced that her and her boyfriend, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Pasha Kovalev will soon be having a baby.
Rachel announced the news on her Instagram and said: “Pash and I have a conundrum for you…you have till December to work it out! We’re over the moon excited.”
Last year, the clever clogs opened up about her relationship with the 39-year-old television star and revealed that while they were very content, they pair had not properly contemplated having kids or getting married.
She said: “I am in love now. I don’t feel I have to get married. I don’t think I need that pressure any more. I don’t worry about getting married or whether he is taking a long time in the morning or whether he has done the dishes. That does not really bother me in the long term. I feel settled.”
“I don’t feel the need to do it again. If I’m with someone and I’m happy, that’s enough.” And touching on children briefly, she said: “I don’t see myself with or without children – whatever will be, will be.”
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old recently signed up to take part on new TV show ‘My Famous Babysitter’.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, the ‘Countdown’ co-presenter will be tasked with looking after someone else’s kids for the W channel reality series.
The upcoming four-part series will, each week, see a different celebrity instructed to look after another’s family’s children for seven days and all their trials, tribulations and successes will be documented.
This challenge will certainly bode well for the star and give the mother-to-be some good babysitting practice before her own little sprog comes along.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Audrey Roberts is set to be left devastated after discovering her grandchildren stole from her and framed her lover.
Audrey’s grandsons David Platt and Nick Tilsley stole £80,000 from her but let her boyfriend Lewis Archer take the blame and Audrey – played by Sue Nicholls – is set to be shocked next week when David confesses.
Sue told Digital Spy: “For her it is not even about the money, it is that they allowed her to think that Lewis, the man she loved, had done this to her. You can repay money but they can never give back to her the fact that they ruined the name of the person she really loved. She is devastated at that.”
And the drama is set to cause a rift with Audrey’s daughter Gail, played by Helen Worth.
Sue said: “Gail has let those boys get away with so much over the years. At this stage, Audrey is feeling very hurt and the fact that Gail will probably try and back the boys, it is like opening that wound again.
“She had reconciled with her family when they were so against her and Lewis being together. Then when she thought he had stolen from her, she had to make up with her family. At the heart of this, Audrey has had wrong done to her by her own family.”
Despite Audrey’s heartbreak, Sue is thrilled to be getting such meaty storylines on the soap.
She said: “I am enjoying it immensely. I am loving this storyline. I was quite fascinated when I did these scenes as I deliberately don’t read the scenes I am not in, so I am sort of unaware of what has unfolded between the two boys. I like not knowing their side of it.
“I am very lucky and I am enjoying Audrey in later life. It is great to see how she has changed as a character. In real life I am a different person now in my 70s than I was in my 40s, 50s and 60s, I am finally vaguely perhaps growing up a bit!
“Audrey is the same. She came into the show a bit common, then she went through the stage of being very grand because she met lovely Alf, who calmed her in one way but then gave her pretensions of being someone different.”
