Julia Goulding’s Coronation Street wedding request

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Goulding will request a double-barrelled surname if her ‘Coronation Street’ character marries David Platt to try to avoid being the victim of a Platt family curse.
The 34-year-old actress wants to remain on the cobbles for the foreseeable future but after David’s (Jack P. Shepherd) wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) was murdered, and his mum Gail Platt (Helen Worth) has a long list of dead husbands, Julia is hoping her alter-ego Shona Ramsey won’t go the same way.
Speaking about the characters potentially tying the knot, Jack said: “Everyone has always died who has always got with me.”
Julia added: “I might push for a double-barrelled surname and not be a complete Platt.”
The Platt family recently enjoyed a get-together in real life when the stars, Jack, Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt), and Ben Price (Nick Tilsley) stayed over on location, leaving a restaurant full of people shocked to see them.
Jack added: “When we were filming on location the Platts actually stayed over in real life.
“Me, Lucy, Tina, Ben, Julia. We stayed over and we had a jolly. We actually went out round the town.
“We had dinner. All the locals were like, ‘Oh my God, it’s the Platts walking into this restaurant.’ ”
While it’s not yet known if David and Shona will wed, one married ‘Corrie’ couple have been going through a tough time of late.
Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) has been battling cervical cancer, which has left her and husband Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) devastated, and actress Katie admits she can’t help but well up when speaking to real-life cancer sufferers.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘This Morning’, she added: “I’ve had a lot of women come up to me, and some of them have come up to me crying, telling me their personal, emotive stories and I well up every time that someone comes up to me.
“Because we’re making such an impact on real people’s lives.
“Katie and Rob can go home, we can be Katie and Rob, we cry all day, do what we’re doing, but we go home and we’re normal people just doing what we’re doing.
“But real people are being affected by this day in day out, and that’s the main aspect for me about this whole storyline.
“We’re trying to reflect real people’s lives, and trying to help real people who are going through it.
“So it’s rewarding and humbling people coming up to us.”

Joe McGann joins Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe McGann has joined ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 60-year-old actor will take on the role of Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) estranged father, surgeon Edward Hutchinson, later this year, and the former ‘Casualty’ star cannot wait to appear in the Channel 4 soap.
He said: “I’m so looking forward to joining the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’. It’s such a great team on both sides of the camera, and I hope to fit in.
“My mum is really proud to have a surgeon in the family.”
Joe will appear on screen in the autumn, and ‘Hollyoaks’ executive producer Bryan Kirkwood is “thrilled” to have the former ‘Night and Day’ actor on-board to bring the “huge character” to life.
He said: “Tony Hutchinson, played by the hugely talented Nick Pickard, has been at the heart of ‘Hollyoaks’ since it began.
“He is estranged from his father and we felt that as we approach Hollyoaks’ 25th anniversary next year it is time to learn more about our biggest character.
“Kind-hearted, sensitive, loveable Tony has in recent years has overcome every parent’s worst nightmare, a critically unwell child.
“He is now happily settled into married life with Diane – in fact he’s never needed a father figure less.
“But in autumn events will bring Edward Hutchinson to Hollyoaks village and we can’t wait to see the phenomenal Joe McGann bring this huge character to life.
“I’m thrilled to welcome him to the cast.”
Joe has three younger brothers who are also actors, Paul, Mark and Stephen McGann.
Stephen is no stranger to Soapland, having appeared as Sean Reynolds in ‘Emmerdale’ from 1999 to 2002, David Hargreaves in ‘Brookside’ in 1985, and in 2006 he starred as Bernard Stephenson in ‘Doctors’.

Jess Impiazzi compares Ex On The Beach to a ‘brothel’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Impiazzi felt pressured to have sex on screen for ‘Ex On The Beach’ and has compared the programme to a “brothel”.
The 30-year-old star – who first appeared on the MTV reality show in 2015 – has claimed she “begged” bosses not to air footage of her having sex on the series.
Speaking on the BBC’s ‘Victoria Derbyshire’ programme, she said: “I cried my eyes out. I said, ‘Please don’t show this.’ ”
After the footage was broadcast, Jess realised she had “signed [her] life away”.
The star felt as though she was under pressure to “hook up with someone” during her second series on the show the following year.
Jess – who eventually quit the programme – revealed: “I had a producer say, ‘Lots of s***ging tonight please girls,’ and I thought, ‘I need to leave now.’
“You feel like you’re in a brothel. It made me feel really cheap … these were all random guys … we know what the show is about but I never said, ‘I will come on this show and behave in that way.’ ”
However, Farah Sattaur – who has also appeared on ‘Ex On The Beach’ – insisted she had a positive experience.
She said: “Great cast members, great experience, going abroad, I love to travel. Your social media rockets. You can collaborate with different brands. You’re driving your career the way you want it to go.”
And production company Whizz Kid Entertainment insisted its stars were made fully aware of the show’s nature.
A spokesman added: “Contributors are made fully aware of the nature of the programme before filming and we clearly highlight the impact of an increased public profile resulting from appearing in the show.
“Strict protocols around sex are in place to protect our cast.”

Humans axed after three series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Humans’ will not be returning for a fourth series.
The Channel 4 and AMC show was last on air 10 months ago, but now co-creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley have confirmed the sci-fi programme won’t be back for another season, and insisted they had “no complaints” because there is “unprecedented choice and competition” within the industry.
The pair – who wrote the show and acted as executive producers – said in a statement: “Sadly there won’t be a 4th season of Humans. In this age of unprecedented choice and competition, we can have no complaints. Channel 4 & AMC were the perfect partners. They supported the show brilliantly and above all – let us make three seasons!
“We’re gutted of course, but we were so lucky. We got to make the show we wanted to make, for 24 episodes. The Humans cast and crew were and are the best, and we wouldn’t have got a 2nd season without their talent and dedication, let alone a 3rd. (sic)”
The duo took a cheeky dig at HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ after the fantasy epic’s final season resulted in a fan campaign for a re-shoot with different writers.
They quipped: “Thank so you much for the messages, support, podcasts, bespoke mugs, and for never setting up a petition to make us redo something.”
While Jonathan and Sam admitted the show – which starred the likes of Emily Berrington, Ruth Bradley and Manpreet Bachu – had left some loose ends, they hope to be able to tell the characters’ next stories at some point.
They added: “We know we left some threads hanging. That was the way we always wrote the show. Maybe one day we’ll get a chance to pick them back up.
“If there’s anyone out there with a few million quid and an interest in AI stories, we’re all ears. DM us Elon.”

Kerry Katona wants daytime talk show

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona wants to front a talk show to replace ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’.
The ITV daytime programme was axed last week in the wake of guest Steve Dymond allegedly taking his own life a week after taking a lie detector test on the show, and now the former Atomic Kitten singer – who has previously opened up about her struggles with addiction and bipolar disorder – wants to provide a sympathetic ear to speak with people suffering from mental health problems.
She said: “It feels like the right time to put the show to bed.
“I feel like it’s become a vehicle to mock lower class people with no teeth, whose mental health problems aren’t always taken seriously.
“Now there’s a space in the ITV schedule, may I put forward a pitch for a sensitive talk show about mental health, presented by me? It would certainly make a refreshing change.”
While Kerry – who has Molly, 17, Lilly-Sue, 16, Heidi, 12, Max, 11, and four-year-old Dylan-Jorge from previous relationships – thinks it’s right the show was axed, she thinks Jeremy has come in for unfair criticism.
She wrote in her column for new! magazine: “I’m a good friend of Jeremy Kyle and I’ve appeared on his show before. He’s always been lovely to me – although he can be an arrogant little t**t.
“But i don’t think you can blame him or the programme for the tragic death of one of his guests.
“From what I experienced, it was a caring environment.”
Jeremy broke his silence over the show’s cancellation at the weekend.
He said: “Myself and the production team I have worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time.”

Alex Jones gives birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Jones has given birth to a baby boy.
The 42-year-old television presenter – who already has two-year-old son Edward Alun Burrel Thomson with her husband Charlie Thomson – became a mother for the second time last week when she gave birth to her second son, whom she has named Kit.
Speaking as she called in to ‘The One Show’ to speak to co-host Matt Baker, she said: “We are now a family of four. He was born last Monday morning. We’ve had a lovely week getting used to being a family of four and introducing him to Teddy.”
And Alex says her eldest son is already the best big brother Kit could ask for, although he’s not convinced on his sibling’s moniker just yet.
She added: “I was a bit worried but Teddy has taken to it like a duck to water, being a big brother. He says: ‘Love you baby.’
“He thinks that we’re going to call the baby Thomas after Thomas the Tank engine so breaking the news is going to be tricky.”
The ‘Shop Well For Less’ presenter also shared the news on social media, where she posted a picture of the tot’s hands.
She wrote alongside the image: “And then there were 4!!!
“Little kit Thomson arrived safely and very speedily last Monday at 2.21am weighing a healthy 7lbs 3. Teddy, Charlie and I are absolutely besotted by baby brother and are enjoying this special time as we get used to being a foursome and generally breathing in that lovely newborn smell!!! Zoe Saldana to star in husband’s rom-com Keyhole Garden

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Saldana is set to star in her husband Marco Perego-Saldana’s romantic comedy ‘Keyhole Garden’.
The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star is the only cast member announced so far for the forthcoming flick.
According to IMDB.com, the movie follows: “The story of how some people’s lives are affected by immigration policies along America’s southern border.”
The script is being penned by Perego-Saldana – who is also helming the project – and Rick Rapoza.
There are three central plots, one about a young boy who does all in his power to prevent his friend being deported, an immigration worker who is unaware they are wrongdoing their ex-lover and a trafficker carrying out their dirty work.
Filming is due to kick off in August.
Meanwhile, Saldana is also set to reprise her role of Neytiri in the new ‘Avatar’ films, with the first currently slated for release in December 2021, and the second the following year.
Meanwhile, the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ star recently revealed it took her “two and a half years” to get the voice for her ‘Missing Link’ character right.
The 40-year-old actress appears in the stop-motion movie as Adelina Fortnight and shared how the project took “a little more time” than any other animation she’s done before as the story was “continuously being shaped” by writer-and-director Chris Butler
She said: “It took a little more time than the animation projects I’ve been part of before. One animation I did in a year and a half, this one took two-and-a-half-years I believe of going back into the studio and recording her voice. Sometimes the tweaks were happening because Adelina and the story was continuously being shaped even though Chris Butler had a clear idea of what the story was.”
The family flick follows Mr. Link (Zach Galifianakis) a furry 8-feet-tall mythical creature as he meets Adeline and explorer Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman) who guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La.
The actress explained that it was the character’s accent which took so long to perfect as it needed to correctly portray her “dynamic” with other characters.
She said: “Her accent. At first Chris really wanted her to have a dense accent and then in our following recording session, he knew that he wanted to shave it off a little bit and still have Adelina feel comfortable navigating the English language and conveying her feelings. It was very important that her dynamic toward Lionel was evident. So, I liked those little adjustments that Chris continued to make for her.”

John Wick 3 tops weekend box office

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’ has knocked ‘Avengers: Endgame’ off the top of the box office.
The latest addition to the action blockbuster franchise has unseated the Marvel Cinematic Universe juggernaut – which enjoyed three weekends at number one – with a debut weekend of $57 million, and around $92 million brought in worldwide.
The third instalment in the saga’s haul is the best of the franchise so far, almost doubling the $30.4 million earned by its predecessor.
‘Detective Pikachu’ dropped to third place over the weekend with $24.8 million, although it has still earned an impressive $94 million as the US box office since its launch last week.
Meanwhile, ‘John Wick’ leading man Keanu Reeves was recently honoured immortalised at the TCL Chinese Theatre as he planted his feet in wet cement at the ceremony in Hollywood earlier this month.
According to CBS Los Angeles, it took the 54-year-old star three attempts to get his signature carved into the concrete tribute correctly.
Reeves – who has had a varied career having starred in blockbuster franchises such as ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Speed’ to comedy ‘Bill & Ted’ – told the crowd it was an “honour” to lay his mark next to some of Hollywood’s greats and admitted he is “very grateful” to the fans who have “embraced” the films he’s made, which have “changed [his] life”.
He said: “It is a great honour to be here and to be invited to this remarkable, historical, magical place.
“To be included amongst all of the incredible artists who have made their mark here over the past 92 years, to be a part of this Hollywood tradition started by Sid Grauman all those years ago and which continues to this day, I thank you. Thank you very much.
“I have been a part of some films that have been embraced, and I am very grateful. They have changed my life. They have given me life. They have provided life.
“And I’m very grateful to the people who have enjoyed these films. Without your support, I am not standing here.”

Emily Atack wants to ‘get off’ with Suranne Jones after Gentleman Jack debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack joked she wants to “get off” with Suranne Jones after ‘Gentleman Jack’ launched on Sunday night (19.05.19).
The BBC’s steamy new six part historical drama launched over the weekend with the former ‘Doctor Foster’ star – who plays landowner and secret womaniser Anne Lister – sharing a racy scene with ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Gemma Whelan, and she seemed to make an immediate impression with viewers.
‘The Inbetweeners’ star Emily tweeted: “Cannot wait to want to get off with Suranne Jones after watching first ep of #GentlemanJack.”
‘Gentleman Jack’ tells the story of Anne, who returns to Shibden Hall in West Yorkshire after a period of travel, study and social climbing. Once back home, she engages in a quest to transform her house and business interests, as well as to find herself a wife.
Set in 1832, the series follows Anne’s real-life story, and Suranne, 40, previously opened up about her character’s attitudes to women and sex.
She said: “She absolutely loved sex. She loved women and she loved sex. Talking to our advisor, the pool of women that she could choose from is quite small cause you have to be very careful who you’re talking to.
“The women she had affairs or dalliances or fell in love with, often they went on to marry men for love or to keep up appearances or for money.”
And Suranne has said the work of women like Anne has still not been finished.
She previously added: “Even in 2019, women have to behave in a certain way, to a point, to get what they want. We’re getting there and we’re having this great conversation at this time. But I think when people see her (Anne) in a certain lights, it’s because she had to behave that way.”

Gaynor Faye quits Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaynor Faye has quit ‘Emmerdale’.
The 47-year-old star is to depart her role as Megan Macey after seven years on the ITV soap, because she wants to try her hand at other roles.
She said: “I’ve been on the show for over six years and have naturally reached a point where I’d like to do some other stuff.”
While Gaynor – who previously played Judy Mallett on ‘Coronation Street’ from 1995 to 1999 – admits it is “a risk” to leave the show, she is keen to push herself out of her comfort zone.
She added to OK! magazine: “It’s a risk. I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.
“I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long.”
This comes after Gaynor admitted last year she would concentrate most of her efforts on “pursuing world peace” by via her Buddhist organisation, Soka Gakkai International – which aims to empower individuals towards positive change – if she wasn’t an actress.
She said: “I’m a Buddhist, so I’d be working with Soka Gakkai International, which is my Buddhist organisation, in the pursuit of world peace.
“I do that anyway, but obviously because I work as an actor and writer, a lot of my time is taken up with that.
“But if I wasn’t an actress, I’d concentrate most of my efforts on that.”
While it’s not yet known how Megan will depart the Dales when Gaynor leaves the soap, her ‘Corrie’ character had a dramatic ending when she died of a pulmonary embolism while hanging out the washing.
And the ‘Fat Friends’ star has previously admitted people often talk to her about how sad they were about Judy’s passing.
She said: “Judy was quite an iconic character in her day.
“I had lots of fantastic storylines, and people often talk about how upset they were when she died.
“I look back now and realise how lucky I was to have such big, dramatic storylines, and work with such amazing people.”

Michael Rice expected to be last

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Rice “always knew” he’d come last in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The 21-year-old singer scored just 13 points for his performance of ‘Bigger Than Us’ at the annual musical extravaganza in Tel Aviv over the weekend but felt the voting countries had turned on the UK because of their decision to leave the European Union (EU).
He said: “I always knew I was going to come in this position because of Brexit.”
And Michael believes that even if the UK had been represented by an internationally famous artist, they still would have come 26th out of 26 entries.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “Do you know what? If it was Gary Barlow or Elton John, they still probably would have come last too.”
This year’s contest was won by the Netherlands, whose entrant Duncan Laurence scored an impressive 492 points for his performance of ‘Arcade’.
On Sunday (19.05.19), the singer admitted he was still in shock to have won the competition.
He wrote in the caption of an Instagram post: “Still can’t believe what happened last night. No words can describe this feeling. Honored, excited, blessed and above all proud of my whole team.(sic)”
Duncan had been the favourite to win the show but despite the pre-show praise, he still didn’t expect to take the crown.
He revealed at the Winner’s Press Conference: “I never ‘dared to dream’ to win this trophy. Because this is Eurovision. Anything can happen, and that’s why I love it. But it (the win) did happen, so the predictions came true.”
Italy’s Mahmood came second with 465 points and Russia’s Sergey Lazarev came third with 369 points.

The 22-year-old actress made her final appearance as Arya Stark in the ‘Game of Thrones’ finale on Sunday night (19.05.19), and one of her next jobs will see her be a panellist on the BBC Three show later this year.
She said: “What I love the most about drag is the story of the drag queen behind the facade.
“I think that so much of drag comes from a place of real pain and seeing how that transforms into a character is so interesting to me. I love that about art and about drag.”
The show is “coming soon” on BBC Three.
A tweet on the BBC Three Twitter account read: “It’s official: @Maisie_Williams has been confirmed as a guest judge for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK @dragraceukbbc
Coming soon to BBC Three (sic)”
Spice Girls singers Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are also expected to be guest judges on the show alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage, and rotating residents Alan Carr and Graham Norton.

“When Geri takes part she’ll be faced with a couple of wannabe acts and maybe a Spice Girls hit or two.”
What’s more, Graham and Alan are delighted about joining the show.
He said: “Becoming part of the drag race family makes me ridiculously happy! I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk.”

“I can’t wait to see what the UK Queens have got in store – it’s going to be sickening.”

Louisa Lytton engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton has got engaged.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress started blubbing “like a baby” when she saw her significant other Ben Bhanvra had dropped to one knee during their recent romantic break to the Maldives, and despite being excited she also started “freaking out”.
She said: “When I saw him on one knee I started crying like a baby. I was so excited but my brain went into overdrive and I started freaking out. I had no idea he was going to propose.”
Ben took Louisa to a quiet part of the island to pop the question where he told her he wanted to fly his drone to take some picturesque photos of the surrounding area, but his proposal didn’t quite go to plan when a cleaner showed up and was “mesmerised” by the unmanned aerial vehicle.
He added: “As soon as I got it up in the air and reached to get the ring from the bag a cleaner walked past and was so mesmerised by the drone he was just stood next to us staring at it for ages.
“I had to wait for him to leave. The cleaner finally disappeared so I got a speaker out of my bag that I was going to use to play a song for when I proposed but the Wi-Fi signal was bad so I couldn’t get it to play.
“By this point I was so frustrated that I just grabbed the ring and got down on one knee.”
The happy couple are planning to marry in the US in 2021, and the pair are keen to start a family.
Speaking in a joint interview with OK! magazine, she said: “I want at least two children and Ben wants three so we’ll have to get cracking pretty soon after the wedding.”
Louisa reprised her ‘EastEnders’ role as Ruby Allen in September last year after 12 years away from the BBC One soap.

Dani Dyer to take over from Maya Jama as host of True Love Or True Lies

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer is to take over from Maya Jama as the host of MTV’s ‘True Love Or True Lies’.
The 2018 ‘Love Island’ winner is set to make her TV comeback with the new gig alongside her ‘EastEnders’ actor dad Danny Dyer, who was the narrator of the first season of the dating show.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “She’s [Dani] just finished shooting the series and it will air later this year.
“Dani wants to make her mark on TV again and having this presenting gig under her belt will hopefully lead to bigger things.
“‘True Love Or True Lies’ is a dating show very much like ‘Love Island’ so Dani is the perfect fit.”
The reality gameshow sees contestants battle it out to win a cash prize, with last year’s winners bagging a whopping £90,000.
Their relationships are put under pressure as they complete a number of tests, with a pair voted out of each episode.
There is a huge twist though, as some of couples aren’t the real deal and it’s the task of the rest of the group to spot the fakes.
It was revealed last month that a second instalment, which will be comprised of 12 episodes, has been ordered by MTV.
Craig Orr, Vice-President of Commissioning and Development for MTV International, commented: “We can’t wait to bring this highly successful format back as it challenges perceptions and reflects what modern day relationships really look like.
“We know fans of the show enjoy joining in with all the ups and downs of the series and can guarantee them plenty more twists and thrills in the next!”
After winning ‘Love Island’ with ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, Dani has gone on to release a smash hit biography in ‘What Would Dani Do? My Guide to Living Your Best Life’ and her ‘Dani Dyer In The Style’ clothing range shifted 70 per cent of its stock on launch day.

Rachel Riley to appear on My Famous Babysitter

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Riley has signed up to take part on new TV show ‘My Famous Babysitter’.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, the ‘Countdown’ co-presenter will be tasked with looking after someone else’s kids for the W channel reality series.
The upcoming four-part series will, each week, see a different celebrity instructed to look after another’s family’s children for seven days and all their trials, tribulations and successes will be documented.
The challenge could prove to be even more difficult for Rachel as she and her boyfriend, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Pasha Kovalev, do not have any children of their own.
However, Rachel is not averse to taking on new challenges and recently revealed she is learning Russian for her man.
The 33-year-old TV star is studying the language for the 39-year-old Latin and ballroom dancer she can converse with him in his native tongue and the first words she ever practised saying was “give me a kiss”.
Rachel shared: “I am learning Russian, I’m doing it with an online app, it’s really homemade with Clip Art from the 90s to explain stuff. It teaches you how kids learn. My spelling is absolutely appalling but you pick it up as you go. The first thing I learnt was [the Russian for] ‘Give me a kiss’ and then from the app you learn things like, ‘I open the window with a crowbar.’ ”
Rachel – who met Pasha when she was partnered with him on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2013 – is motivated to learn the language because she found it “disconcerting” when she couldn’t understand what Pasha’s friends were talking about when they all hung out together.
She added: “Pasha’s friends are mostly Russian and they were brought up in Soviet Russia and now they’ve come to mostly the States. We go on holiday with them and his mum and his brother as well. The first time I met the boys, I spoke no Russian at all. It’s really disconcerting, a bunch of thirty-something boys talking and giggling and drinking and I have no idea what they’re talking about.”
