OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone kept the turtles from the first ‘Rocky’ movie.
The 72-year-old Hollywood legend took to Instagram to share a picture with Cuff and Link, who appeared alongside his boxer alter-ego Rocky Balboa in the 1976 movie, and revealed the shelled reptiles, who returned for 2018’s ‘Creed II’ – the eighth instalment in the blockbuster franchise – are around 44 years old.
Alongside the snap of him posing in front of their tank, Stallone revealed: “CREED 2 with my original buddies from the first Rocky … CUFF and LINK , now about 44 years old! (sic)”
In ‘Rocky’, Cuff and Link appear in a scene with the boxer’s love interest Adrian Pennino (Talia Shire).
He tells her, “the exotic animals I was telling you about. These are my friends, Cuff and Link.”
The duo are not the only pets of Stallone to feature in the movies.
Butkus, the bull mastiff, also appeared in ‘Rocky’ and the 1979 sequel ‘Rocky II’.
The ‘Demolition Man’ star – who is now estimated to be worth a whopping $400 million – unfortunately had to sell his canine friend because he couldn’t afford him at the time, but the owner sold him back to him for the eye-watering sum of $15,000, but he admitted it was “worth every penny”.
Speaking in 2017, he said: “Then like a modern day miracle, the screenplay for ‘Rocky’ sold, and I could buy him back, but the new owner knew I was desperate and charged me $15,000.He was worth every penny!”
Alongside an old picture with Butkus when he was in his 20s posted on Instagram, Stallone wrote: “I absolutely love pictures like this. When I was 26, totally broke, going nowhere VERY fast, owned two pair of pants that barely fit, shoes that had holes in them and dreams of being successful were as far away as the sun… But I had my dog, BUTKUS, my best friend, my confidant, Who always laughed at my jokes, and put up with my moods, and was the one living thing that loved me for who I was! #man’s best friend#BullMastiff #Loyalty #NewYorkCity#AmericanDreams (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton feels “incredibly privileged” to play Sir Elton John.
The 29-year-old actor plays the music legend in ‘Rocketman’ and feels an incredible sense of pride at being able to portray the famous singer.
He told Digital Spy: “I’ve left this process with a really strong friendship with an incredible man. I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of his life and I feel incredibly honoured to be entrusted with the great privilege of portraying him.”
Meanwhile, Elton previously spoke of how was very “moved” by Taron’s portrayal of him in ‘Rocketman’ and admitted he was so “blown away” by seeing his story told on the big screen he couldn’t help but shed a few tears.
He said: “I never thought in my 73rd year that I’d be sitting here in Cannes with my own movie coming out; to be honest with you I was blown away. I cried the first time I saw it and I cried a lot this time.
“There are some very, very dark moments in the movie but the music lifts it out of the darkness and not only did he have to perform my life he had to sing my life and that’s a double whammy. When I look at him singing and when I look at him acting, I’m not looking at Taron Egerton, I’m looking at me and so that’s what moves me it’s like ‘This is me here.’ I’m very, very proud of this movie, I’m proud of my life, I’m proud of him [Taron].
“I knew Taron could sing and as soon as I met him I felt that there was something special there. When I heard him sing ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’ I was flabbergasted. I thought, ‘God this so difficult to sing, this is just as good as my version really.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadly 60’ host Steve Backshall has already introduced his baby son to a crocodile.
The 46-year-old daredevil animal expert – who is most famous for hosting the CBBC show in which he goes in search of the world’s deadliest creatures – has 10-month-old son Logan with his wife, Olympic gold medal winning rower Helen Glover, and he has already let his child encounter a number of dangerous wild animals.
As well as a crocodile, Steve has also let Logan meet a snake, a sting ray and even a shark because he wants him to be comfortable around animals and develop a love for nature like his dad.
Speaking on the ‘Pound For Pound’ podcast, he said: “Logan has already encountered his first snake and his first small crocodile and his first sting ray and he’s been quite close to sharks as well which for a 10 month old is probably not quite right!”
Steve has missed out on some of the early months of Logan’s life due to his busy filming schedule for various television shows.
The ‘Springwatch’ star has been visited by Helen, 32, and his son in some of the most far flung corners of the globe whilst working but he admits the Himalayas and Australian Outback are not really the best places for a baby.
He said: “My baby boy Logan is the smiliest baby I’ve ever seen in my entire life. He never stops smiling. I did a tour of Australia in January and they came out for that and they also came out for some shark filming about a month or so ago. But the expeditions wouldn’t really work with a little baby; being in the Arctic or in the middle of the Himalayas, they aren’t really the best places for a tiny baby.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amandla Stenberg is set to star in Universal’s ‘Fear’ remake.
The 20-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Rue in ‘The Hunger Games’ and Starr Carter in ‘The Hate U Give’ – has joined the re-imagining of James Foley’s 1996 psychological thriller with Jonathan Herman writing the screenplay.
The original film follows a wealthy family whose existence is threatened when their daughter, 16-year-old Nicole Walker (Reese Witherspoon), begins dating the attractive and mysterious David McCall (Mark Wahlberg), much to the dismay of her father Steven (William Petersen).
David eventually wins over most of Nicole’s family members, excluding her father; however his adoration soon turns to obsession and his violent sociopathic traits are revealed.
Original producer Brian Grazer will once again produce for Imagine Entertainment alongside Imagine’s Karen Lunder. EVP Production Jon Mone will oversee production for Universal.
‘Fear’ opened at number four at the box office, making $6.3 million in its opening weekend and by the end of its run the film earned $20.8 million in the US.
Amanda recently joined upcoming eight-part musical drama ‘The Eddy’ which is expected to debut in 2020.
The Netflix show revolves around a club in Paris and Stenberg will play Julie, the teenage daughter of Elliott (Andre Holland) who shows up suddenly in Paris and forces him to face his past.
Stenberg also joins Joanna Kulig on the show, who will Maja, a singer who is struggling to commit to Elliot, her on-again-off-again partner.
The show was created by Damien Chazelle and written by Jack Thorne and Chazelle will direct several episodes of the series, with original music written by Glen Ballard.

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Osman has landed a £1.1 million book deal for his debut novel ‘The Thursday Murder Club’.
The ‘Pointless’ co-host secretly spent 18 months penning the crime tome and on Thursday (24.05.19) it was revealed that he’s set to earn the seven-figure sum after publishers Viking, an imprint of Penguin, landed the rights in a 10-way auction.
The 48-year-old TV star admitted he’s “never been prouder” of anything he’s ever done in his career before than he is of his first book.
The new author tweeted: “I have news.
“I’ve spent the last 18 months writing a novel, ‘The Thursday Murder Club’.
“A month ago I finally showed it to someone, and then all this happened.
“I have never been prouder of anything in my working life, and I can’t wait for you all to read it next year! (sic)”
Whilst his agent Juliet Mushens said: “I knew that it would be warm and witty.
“However, I wasn’t quite prepared for how brilliantly ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ would come to life.”
In a statement, Richard quipped that his mother is “delighted” he finally has a “proper job”.
He joked: “To turn from a lifelong reader to a debut author is a dream come true.
“And I’m delighted that my Mum now thinks I have a proper job.”
‘The Thursday Murder Club will be released in 2020 and Richard is also writing a second book for the series, due out a year later.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith and Jason Donovan are set to duet at the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ semi-finals.
The ‘Cilla’ star will team up with the 50-year-old actor and singer to perform a medley of songs from the ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ musical, in which they will both be starring in when it returns to London’s West End later this year.
A source toldThe Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “It will be the first time Sheridan has performed songs from the musical publicly, so it’s a coup for ITV. Bosses expect decent ratings.”
It is not known which day Sheridan and Jason will perform as part of the week long ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ semi-finals, which airs from Monday to Friday, culminating in the grand final next Sunday (02.06.19).
Sheridan has admitted she is “nervous” about going back to the stage as the Narrator in a new version of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ as it will be her first time working in London theatre since her troubled run in 2016’s ‘Funny Girl’, which saw her pull out of several weeks of performances due to stress and exhaustion.
She admitted: “I was nervous about going back into theatre in London … If you sign for a musical, you’ve got to do a year. But this is a summer season, for ten-and-a-half weeks. Plus, it’s lovely to be part of an ensemble – it’s a nice way of going back into the West End where there won’t be the pressure of me carrying a show. I can’t believe that there’s no talking – just singing. And the songs are catchy! Everyone knows that because we all did Joseph when we were at school.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodward says his football abuse storyline in ‘Hollyoaks’ helped him “develop” as a performer.
The actor plays Brody Hudson in the Channel 4 soap, and was praised for his performance earlier this year in a storyline which saw him testify in court against football coach Buster Smith (played by Nathan Sussex) for having groomed him when he was a child.
And now, the star says working closely with charity Survivors Manchester on the plot helped him “broaden [his] understanding” of the trauma suffered by abuse survivors.
He said: “Each role and story line you tackle helps develop you as a performer. This story line helped me understand the trauma suffered by survivors, it really helped broaden my understanding.”
Survivors Manchester has seen an increase in support following their assistance with the soap story, and Adam says he loves being able to “help people” through his career.
He added: “Since the story has aired, the charity that we work with, Survivors Manchester, has seen big increases in the number of people coming forward for support. To know that I get to do a job that I love that helps people is the best feeling.”
Adam’s role in the story has seen him nominated for Best Male Performance, Best Storyline, and Scene of the Year at the upcoming British Soap Awards, and he would be “extremely proud” if he walked away with a gong on the night.
Speaking in a press release, he said: “I honestly haven’t got a clue what I’ll say [if I win], but I do know it would be an extremely proud moment for me.
“Overall I couldn’t have asked for anything more or to be lucky enough to work with such talented actors.”
The British Soap Awards will take place on June 1, and will be televised on ITV.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Barrymore feels “raw anger” that people don’t accept he’s an innocent man.
The ‘Strike It Lucky’ presenter’s career was left in tatters when he was arrested in connection with the death of Stuart Lubbock, who was found lifeless in his swimming pool in 2001, and though he was never charged, he still feels upset that he’s not been able to climb back to success.
Michael will open up about the shocking incident in an upcoming episode of ‘Life Stories’ and host Piers Morgan thinks it will be the most “powerful” interview he’s ever broadcast on the show.
Piers told the Daily Star newspaper: “He had everything and then lost it all. He lost his marriage and career, and nearly lost his livelihood, but ultimately was never convicted in relation to any of the events people know him for.
“He feels raw anger that he’s not been allowed to rebuild his career, because people don’t want to accept that he was an innocent man.
“It will be the most powerful show we’ve ever aired. Michael showed us what made him the most popular guy in TV.”
The 66-year-old comedian was questioned on suspicion of rape and murder, but in 2017 was awarded nominal damages at the High Court after suing police for wrongful arrest.
Michael has made various bids to revive his career, appearing on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2006 and opening up about his drug addiction on ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ in 2014.
Attorney General Jeremy Wright recently turned down an application by Lubbock’s father Terry to open a new inquest into his son’s death.
Terry also slammed the former ‘My Kind of People’ host when he sued for wrongful arrest.
He said: “I am totally disgusted by this.
“Perhaps one good thing will be if someone feels the same way I do and comes forward with new information about my son Stuart’s death.
“I will never give up fighting for justice for my son.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina O’Brien says Helen Worth makes her feel “very loved and looked after” if she goes to her with a problem.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays Sarah Platt on the ITV soap – admits her on-screen mum Helen (Gail Platt) is also like a real-life mother figure to her when the cameras stop rolling, and she also loves watching her on-screen gran Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts) at work.
She said: “Helen is very caring and mothering, if I ever have a problem or I need advice I go to Helen, without a doubt. She really listens and always makes me feel very loved and looked after.
“Sue is wonderful; I love listening to Sue, I love watching Sue, I love Sue as Sue, I love Sue as Audrey. It is like a fake, weird family.
“To me, Sue and Helen are Coronation Street and to be around that, I go wow. The way they are as mother and daughter and how they wind each other up is so natural.
“That’s family to me and that is very clever.”
Tina is also close to on-screen brother Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt), admitting he is “real wind-up merchant”, and her on-screen daughter Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) even calls her mum when out of character.
She said: “Jack is a real wind-up merchant but I love him dearly so I guess that’s how I would feel about a little brother.
“Lucy actually calls me mum sometimes and Ben is like an older brother, wise and caring.”
The 35-year-old actress enjoys working with her on-screen boyfriend Mikey North (Gary Windass), and admits she would find it “really difficult” if Sarah split from Gary because she loves starring alongside the 32-year-old actor.
She said: “It’s really difficult because I love working with Mikey! He is the greatest guy to work with professionally and we work so well, it’s like a dance.
“However if I was to advise Sarah I’d say that she should get away from Gary, he’s bad news.
“But I do think Sarah and Gary work so well and I really enjoy working with Mikey.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Michael Caine, Sir Kenneth Branagh, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have joined Christopher Nolan’s latest film.
The trio have joined a star-studded cast for the movie, which has been titled ‘Tenet’, including Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, John David Washington, Dimple Kapadia and Clémence Poésy.
The motion picture is said to be an epic action movie and is to be filmed across seven countries.
Nolan will produce the film alongside Emma Thomas, and Thomas Hayslip will act as executive producer.
The movie, which is said to be about international espionage, is set for release on July 17, 2020.
Pattinson recently revealed he was “locked in a room” to read the script for Nolan’s new film before handing it back, and he was “sworn to secrecy” about the upcoming project.
He said: “I got locked in a room to read the script – I don’t have it myself, I’ve been a little wary of doing big movies for years and years, but there’s just something about Chris Nolan’s stuff. He seems like the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has huge scale. I read the script and it’s unreal.”
Debicki, Pattinson and Washington were reported to have joined the cast of the movie earlier this year.
Washington – whose father is Hollywood icon Denzel Washington – rose to fame in Spike Lee’s biographical drama ‘BlacKkKlansman’, in which he starred as Ron Stallworth, who was the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department.

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino snapped at a reporter who questioned Margot Robbie’s lack of screen time in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.
The 56-year-old director brushed off the question from a female writer at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (22.05.19) and refused to elaborate on her enquiry.
Asked why Margot, who plays Manson family victim Sharon Tate in the movie, didn’t have more to say or do, he said: “I reject your hypothesis.”
But the 28-year-old actress stepped in instead and insisted she had a lot of time to “explore the character” and didn’t need scripted lines to “honour” the tragic starlet.
As her director looked upset, Margot said: “I think the moments I was on screen gave a moment to honor Sharon.
“I think the tragedy was the loss of innocence. To show the wonderful sides of her could be done without speaking.
“I did feel like I got a lot of time to explore the character without dialogue, which is an interesting thing. Rarely do I get an opportunity to spend so much time on my own as a character.”
Margot took on the role because she felt she was able to “honour the memory” of Sharon Tate.
She added: “Quentin said to me she’s the heartbeat of the story. I saw her as a ray of light.”
Elsewhere during the 30-minute question and answer session, Tarantino explained why he felt people are fascinated by Charles Manson and his followers.
He said: “I think we’re fascinated by it because at the end of the day, it seems unfathomable.
“I’ve done a lot of research on it. How he was he was able to get these girls and young boys to cement to him seems unfathomable. The more you learn about it, the more information you get, it doesn’t make it any clear. It makes it more obscure.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer’s ‘Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out’ is returning for a second series.
The comedy duo’s high-octane show will be back on BBC Four for a new instalment, in which they will perform their hit sketches The Free Runners and Mostly UnHaunted, and the pair will be joined once again by hapless Vaun (Vaun Earl Norman).
Vic and Bob said: “We’ve had so much fun writing this series, the chemistry between us has never been so explosive and we can’t wait to get going – for our writing to make it on screen and see how it all works out.”
Bob has been practicing his musical dance routines during his downtime ahead of trying to impress the audience and Vic with his latest skills.
The show will feature a number of new characters and guest stars, and will include the return of Novelty Island.
Shane Allen, controller comedy commissioning, said: “Vic and Bob continue to pioneer, dazzle and reduce audiences to helpless laughter.
“Who knows what inventive brilliance is in store, it’s not like the scripts will give us much of a clue.
“They return at the height of their comedy powers with more audience love than ever.”
Cassian Harrison, channel editor at BBC Four, added: “I am overjoyed to welcome back Vic and Bob to BBC Four.
“Their big night out was a must-see moment on the channel last year and we’re looking forward to even more of their inimitable anarchy.”
The show is a reimagining of ‘Vic Reeves Big Night Out’, a stage and then TV show first broadcast on Channel 4 in 1990.
The programme spanned two series as well as a new year special, and marked the beginnings of Vic teaming up with Bob.

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Tamaddon wants her ‘Coronation Street’ character to return to the soap to take over Street Cars.
The 42-year-old star portrayed Andrea Beckett in the ITV soap from 2013 to 2015 and admits it would “a dream” to reprise her role, and thinks she could “cause a bit of chaos” for Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
She said: “It would be a dream to go back to ‘Corrie’, it really would.
“I see all my friends from ‘Corrie’ all the time. I’m so close to them.
“It was lovely to go in the live [episode], it was such a celebration.
“But there’s always a chance she could come back, cause a bit of chaos for Steve.
“Maybe she could run the cab company for a while?”
Street Cars owner Steve may not need much more chaos in his life as on last night’s (22.05.19) ‘Corrie’ double bill he caused one of his cab passengers to get run over by another car, just days after he accidentally acted as a getaway driver for a criminal customer.
The police have now told him he will have his cab driving licence taken off him.
As well as mixing things up for Steve, Hayley hinted she wouldn’t mind reprising her role as ‘Emmerdale’ character Del Dingle, admitting she should be at Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Lisa Dingle’s (Jane Cox) wedding, which will air tonight (23.05.19), because her alter-ego is part of the family.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, Hayley said: “Why am I not there? I should be [there] causing chaos.”
Hayley played Del in ‘Emmerdale’ from 2005 to 2007 before joining ‘Corrie’ in 2013 for two years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard E. Grant and Keri Russell’s ‘Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker’ roles have been confirmed.
The 62-year-old actor and the 43-year-old actress appear in the final instalment on the new trilogy and although the pair where previously sworn to secrecy about their roles, Vanity Fair has now revealed that Grant will play Allegiant General Pryde, while Russell portrays Zorri Bliss.
Grant’s alter ego has been described as a “high ranking member of the First Order” who is thought to have a close relationship with Domhnall Gleeson’s character General Hux.
‘Americans’ star Russell will star as a “masked scoundrel” who inhabits the Thieves’ Quarter, an area on the planet Kijimi.
It was also confirmed that the film will include the Knights of Ren, a mysterious order of elite warriors who followed the Dark Side of The Force and were led by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). They have previously been seen by Rey (Daisy Ridley) in flashback scenes in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’.
Earlier this year, ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ star Grant revealed that the spoiler security measures surrounding the much-hyped sci-fi movie are so intense that he couldn’t even tell his wife Joan, 70, and daughter Olivia, 30, who he plays in the franchise.
He previously said: “I’ve never known anything like it – huge secrecy. I know it comes out on December 19 [and] I’m not even allowed to tell my wife and daughter the name of my character.
“They have security on the set plain clothes and visible, you have to wear a cloak from the trailers to going in the studio because they have drones going out overhead.
“You have to read the script in a big conference room that has guards outside with cameras. You get the pages that you are doing on the day you have to sign in for them and sign out for them at the end of the day, so it’s Fort Knox.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Hill has been absent from BBC One’s lunchtime news due to her battle with cancer.
The 49-year-old newsreader – who returned to her job on Wednesday (22.05.19) after a six-month break – opened up about how she has been suffering from breast cancer, and thanked everyone who had sent her welcome-back-to-work messages.
Jane tweeted: “Overwhelmed by so many lovely back-to-work messages. I just want to say that my return wouldn’t have been possible without our NHS.
“Sending love & thanks to the numerous #NHSuk staff who spotted my breast cancer, treated it, and continue to look after me. Thank you all. (sic)”
Ahead of her return to the show – which was her first stint since November – she told her followers she was getting ready for her big comeback, and said the BBC had cancelled her pass because she had been absent for so long.
Jane wrote: “Big day today. On air for the first time since November.
“Still… 6 months out of the newsroom… that’s been plenty of time to sort # Brexit, right…? See you for @bbcnews at One.
“Oh, and in true #W1A style, my pass had been cancelled and I couldn’t get into the building. #welcomeback (sic)”
Jane was inundated with messages from various celebrities.
Actor Sanjeev Bhaskar wrote: “Great to have you back Jane and that you’re feeling better. You haven’t missed much, nothing’s changed.”
Author Emma Kennedy added: “Oh Jane! I had no idea. I’m so sorry. But very glad you’re on the mend.”
Jane has been presenting the lunch-time news since 2003, after she joined the network full-time at the end of 1991.
She broadcast for eight hours in 2003 when Saddam Hussein was captured by US Special Forces.
Jane was also the first person to interview Kate and Gerry McCann on TV after their daughter Madeleine disappeared from Praia da Luz in 2007.

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ results have been corrected after a “human error”.
The Belarusian jury was axed after revealing their votes from the first semi-final – which is against regulations – so a “substitute aggregated result” was calculated and approved based on “the results of other countries with similar voting records”.
However, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has now revealed there was a mistake in the process despite voting monitor Ernst & Young previously approving the outcome.
The EBU said in a statement: “The EBU can confirm, following standard review practices, we have discovered that due to a human error an incorrect aggregated result was used.

It means Netherlands champion Duncan Laurence remained top with 498 as opposed to 492, while Italy’s runner up Mahmood had six points more than their 465 total given on the night, and Russia’s entry Sergey Lazarev finished with 372 rather than 369.
The change in results is bad news for the UK’s Michael Rice, who had already found himself at the bottom of the rankings on the night after his song ‘Better Than Us’ earned just 16 points.
However, the scoreboard now looks even worse for Michael following the revised results as he only has a score of 11 points.
Commenting after his loss, Michael previously said: “I always knew I was going to come in this position because of Brexit.”
And Michael believes even if the UK had been represented by an internationally-famous artist, they still would have come 26th out of 26 entries.
He added: “Do you know what? If it was Gary Barlow or Elton John, they still probably would have come last too.”
