OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer is fronting his own BBC One game show.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor has been confirmed as the host for ‘The Wall’ – with questions voiced by Angela Rippon – and the new Saturday night series has been described as “the ultimate combination of strategy, knowledge and luck”.
He said: “I’d never had a desire to host a gameshow before I saw this game. I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to help win the public some serious life-changing readies. I love it.”
Viewers have been promised “colossal wins and heart-breaking losses” on the upcoming show, which will requires pairs to have the right answers, the right bounces and trust in each other to win the life changing cash prize.
Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning at BBC, added: “‘The Wall’ is an exciting, challenging and tense quiz where destinies dramatically change with the drop of a single ball.
“Danny is an unforgettable and very unique host as he commands ‘The Wall’, roots for the contestants and hits our hearts and our funny bones.”
The six part series is set to be a spectacle, and the team are delighted to have Danny, 41, at the helm for its launch.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Osbourne to star on BBC ancestry television show ‘Who Do you Think You Are’.
The 66-year-old star – who has kids Jack, 33, Kelly, 34, and Aimee, 35 with her husband Ozzy – wants to find out more about her past relatives despite having spent years estranged from her late mother and father.
As reported by the Daily Mirror newspaper, fiery red-head was recently seen filming for the show – which has already signed up Kate Winslet and Mark Wright – in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Sharon’s father Don Arden worked in the music business and the mogul, who died in 2007, tried to sue his daughter for millions when she took her husband away from his record label.
The ‘X Factor’ judge loathed her father and previously labelled him “an evil old b*****d”.
She previously said: “There were times when I was on the floor crying and shaking because he’d threatened to come over to the house and kill me.
“He’s an evil old b*****d and I can’t wait for him to die.”
Don reportedly made friends with Joe Pagano – who was a member of the Genovese, one of the five big Mafia families in New York – and Sharon made sure that her three children had nothing to do with Don and simply told them their grandfather was dead so they did not have to meet him.
She previously said: “I told them that because I didn’t want him anywhere near them and I certainly didn’t want them seeing him.
Sharon also disliked her mother Hope Shaw – who passed away in 1999 – and didn’t even attend her funeral.
She said: “I didn’t like my mother at all. There was no friendship, nothing at all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Collard felt like he had to live up to a “bad boy” persona after ‘Love Island’.
The reality star revealed that he’s found it difficult to “ask for help” since appearing on the ITV dating show and believes that both he and Mike Thalassitis – who tragically took his own life earlier this year – were depicted as “macho” which made it difficult to voice any mental health issues they could be suffering.
In an interview with the July issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, he said: “Mike was portrayed as a similar ‘character’ to me on the show – macho, a bit of a bad boy. Feeling like you have to live up to that can make it difficult to ask for help.”
Adam’s former partner Zara McDermott also appeared on the show and insisted that it’s “easy” to become “self-obsessed” thanks to social media and feels it’s important for people to have a “passion or purpose” other than their looks.
She explained: “It’s easy to get caught up in the self-obsessed world we live in – we’ve lost touch with basic joys because we outsource our happiness online. It’s important to have a passion or purpose other than yourself.”
Fellow ex contestant Doctor Alex George explained that he has “regular therapy” to help cope with his stress following the show and explained mental health issues in individuals aren’t because of the show but triggered by a “life-changing event”.
He said: “Mental health issues aren’t isolated to reality shows – any life-changing event or disruption can be a trigger.
“If you have a cold, you see a doctor, yet people wait until they’re crippled with depression before asking for help. That’s why I have therapy regularly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyson Fury has encouraged his brother Tommy to enjoy every minute on ‘Love Island’.
The superstar boxer has urged his fellow sportsman and sibling to make the most of his experience in the villa this summer, and he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of hooking up on camera.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “My brother went, ‘Go on, lad!’ It is what it is, at the end of the day.
“We’re here to have a good time and find a love partner. I would like to find that myself.
“If I’m there in bed and we both have a good connection and feel that it’s the right time…  We can’t put a time frame on things, it has to feel right. I’d be open to it, but I’d keep it under the covers.”
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old boxer insisted despite his physically demanding career he’s actually “a cuddly bear” and he’s keen to show that softer side to the British public.
He added: “I want to show everybody I’m not this big, hard, tough fighter or whatever. I’m a cuddly bear, I have emotions just like everyone else.
“I cried the other day at ‘Marley & Me’. And when I say cry, I mean puddles of tears.”
The ITV2 dating show will return on Monday (03.06.19), hosted by Caroline Flack, with 12 contestants already confirmed for the launch episode, but at least half a dozen more Islanders are set to head into the Majorcan paradise throughout the series.
An insider said: “The current line up isn’t going to stay the same for long – and the newbies are super-hot.
“They are being called ‘bombshell arrivals’ and viewers will see why when they see them.”
The mystery Islanders are said to be staying “in a secret location” ahead of their appearances in the villa.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Titchmarsh doesn’t want to erase history with ‘Secrets of the National Trust’.
The 70-year-old presenter has insisted the upcoming Channel 5 programme should paint an honest picture of the past without “apologising for things that happened 200 years ago”.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he explained: “One place we visit in the series is Penrhyn castle where they’d made a lot of money in the sugar trade.
“They had about 700 slaves, which is obviously appalling to us now. But you have look at the times.”
Alan insisted the show would go beyond simply “houses and gardens”, with each National Trust site having its own story to tell.
He added: “It’s about the people who’ve lived in them, the personalities, how they lived, the fascinating stories they tell.
“My role as presenter isn’t to show off my ow knowledge. It’s to open doors for the viewer, open windows and… open minds, really.”
The star also suggested the only reason “older people” tend to visit the historical sites more often youngsters is “because they have the time”.
Asked if the National Trust’s work is appreciated by all generations, he explained: “I don’t have a downer on the younger generation.
“They’re very bright. They’re aware of custodianship and stewardship, which is what the Trust is all about.
“It does tend to be older people who visit these places because they have the time.”
Meanwhile, the English gardener has previously spoken on how his work helps him maintain his youthful appearance.
Speaking last year, he said: “I don’t use any skin products. For me, gardening is the secret to looking good, I can’t believe that I am going to turn 70 next March.
“I walk a lot – I walk every day – and my wife Lynn keeps me on my toes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Ann Matthews is already stocking up for her British Soap Awards hangover.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who first appeared as Jenny Connor on the cobbles from 1986 to 1991 and made a full time return in 2015 – has been nominated for the best actress prize at this weekend’s ceremony, and it appears she is already anticipating a heavy night regardless of whether she wins or loses.
Taking to Twitter on Friday (31.05.19), she teased: “Going to do my Soap Awards hangover shopping today:Dioralyte, full-fat coke, jelly sweets, lightly salted Kettle Chips. Love a bit of forward planning x (sic)”
Sally keeps her fans entertained on social media, and earlier this year she even used her account as a call for help when was unable to remove the cover of her smoke detector to change the battery.
In the end, Shayne Ward – who previously portrayed Sally’s on-screen stepson Aidan Connor on the soap – came to the rescue by sending her a video explaining the process.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m a damsel (ish) in distress. Anyone know how to remove the cover so I can change the battery? x (sic)”
One of her pals, who is a fireman, sent Sally a number of tweets explaining how to do it.
He tweeted: “Lucky for you! You’ve just made friends with a firefighter! Haha the two clips at the side need pressing in simultaneously x
“Yes get a screwdriver in there and lever it open x …
“Then line the two triangles up to put in back on … (sic)”
And she later thanked her pals while revealing two security guards had managed to carry out the task after Shayne and her fireman friend’s tweets.
She wrote: “When @shayneTward sends you a ‘how to’ video and your new fireman mate @aaronlp1 explains all and then two lovely Media City security guards do the muscle work, that’s when you change the battery in your smoke detector x (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood insists Ste Hay’s radicalisation storyline won’t have a clear cut ending.
The Channel 4 soap’s executive producer has opened up on the future of the controversial plot which has seen Kieron Richardson’s character targeted and won over by a far-right extremist group.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Bryan said: “The story isn’t going in one direction until the end. It will change direction and hopefully take the audience with it.
“There’s a very clear point in the story where Ste is confronted by what Stuart and Jonny represent – and we get our boy back. It’s not going to be easy.
“We’re not going to tie it up with a bow and say ‘all’s well that ends well’. There’s a change of gear in the storyline and where it leads Ste will take a respectful amount of time.”
The producer explained how the team have been conscious of working with “charities and government advisers” to ensure the story being told is an authentic one, and Bryan offered a glimmer of hope to viewers hoping Ste can be saved.
He added: “We’ve also worked really hard with the Channel 4 compliance team to make sure that the story we’re telling is suitable for the 6.30pm timeslot.
“I believe the journey we’re taking Ste on is plausible and I hope he’s redeemable. There’s a significant chapter of the story that sees Ste trying to de-radicalise himself, but that’s much later on in the year.”
Earlier this month, actor Kieron revealed he had quit social media after backlash over the plot, and he admitted the criticisms even had an impact on his performances as he took the comments to heart.
He previously said: “It is so hard to watch and it is very controversial but it has to be like that as that is real life.
“I deleted my Twitter because people were hating on me and I was then trying to water down my performance as I didn’t want to offend people, but that is the wrong way to do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Todd will appear in the ‘Candyman’ reboot.
The 64-year-old actor – who played the hook-wielding supernatural killer in the original horror trilogy – has accepted a part in the film although he was “a little concerned” about appearing in Jordan Peel’s upcoming retelling of the horror franchise.
Todd was convinced when the acclaimed director – who is producing the project with Nia DaCosta directing – insisted the movie will include several “applause-worthy moments”.
Speaking at the Nickel City Con convention, Todd said: “I was a little concerned because there was all this chatter. Out of the blue I got a phone call from Jordan Peele. We’re still waiting for the contract, but the way he explained it to me was that it’s gonna be applause-worthy moments. That’s his words. No matter what happens with that, it’s gonna just put renewed attention on the original.”
Although Todd will be returning to the franchise he won’t be portraying the titular villain as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast the Candyman.
The 32-year-old actor has found fame playing various villains such as Black Manta in ‘Aquaman’ and Cadillac in Netflix’s ‘The Get Down’ and he will continue his evil streak playing the killer in the film.
The 1992 version of ‘Candyman’ – which is inspired by legendary horror author Clive Barker’s short story ‘The Forbidden’ – follows a graduate student who explores the legend of the Candyman while writing a thesis on urban legends.
The urban legend states that the Candyman – who, in life, was an African-American artist who was lynched for falling in love and fathering a child with a white woman in 1890 – is summoned after his name is said out loud five times in a mirror.
The first film spawned two follow-ups ‘Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh’ and ‘Candyman: Day of the Dead’, and Peel’s new movie has been described as “spiritual sequel” to the original and will be a return to neighbourhood where the legend began; a now-gentrified section of Chicago where the Cabrini-Green housing projects once stood.
‘Get Out’ director Peele has admitted the original movie had a huge impact on him when he was younger because it was centred around an African-American character in Todd – who also starred in Tom Savini’s 1990 remake of George A. Romero’s zombie classic ‘Night of the Living Dead’, another favourite of Peele’s.
He said: “The original was a landmark film for black representation in the horror genre. Alongside ‘Night of the Living Dead’, ‘Candyman’ was a major inspiration for me as a filmmaker.”
Shooting on the movie is scheduled to begin in spring 2019 and Universal Pictures will release ‘Candyman’ in cinemas in June 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Marc Webb is being lined-up to helm Disney’s live-action ‘Snow White’ movie.
The 44-year-old filmmaker – who is best known for his work on 2009 romantic comedy-drama ‘500 Days of Summer’ and 2012 Spider-Man reboot ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ – is reportedly in talks to direct the upcoming retelling of the beloved 1937 animation ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, Disney’s first ever feature-length animation.
According to Variety, no deal has been finalised but Webb is studios top choice to direct the movie.
Erin Cressida Wilson – who penned the screenplay for hit 2016 thriller ‘The Girl on the Train’ is on board to write the film which is said to “expand” on the story and music from the cartoon classic.
Songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song ‘City of Stars’ from ‘La La Land’ and ‘This Is Me’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’ – will write the music for the film while Marc Platt is on board to produce.
Disney is committed to rebooting its classic animations with ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Dumbo’ all hitting cinemas in recent times with ‘The Lion King’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ to follow among others.
Acclaimed composer Alan Menken – who has won Academy Awards for his scores on Disney films ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Pocahontas’ – recently claimed that despite the string of reboots 1995’s ‘Pocahontas’ probably won’t be remade.
The musician argued that due to “modern sensibilities” it would be difficult to do a retelling of the film, which gives a fictionalised account of a Native American woman of the same name and her historical encounter with Englishman John Smith and the Jamestown settlers that arrived from the Virginia Company.

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden feared she would get fired from ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ after she swore live on air.
The 48-year-old television star was left feeling terrified after she was asked to take part in semi-finalist The Haunting’s act and she admits she “panicked” after uttering the swear word live on air and asked boss Simon Cowell if she’d lost her job.
She said: “Everything happens to me. It always bloody happens to me. They never get Alesha [Dixon] up, she’d always want to know how it all works, like Miss Marple, where I’m like, ‘Yeah I’ll get up.’ And it’s normally me who falls a*** over t*t or swears. No, I’ve not learnt my lesson, I’ve not washed my mouth out with soap either. I would defy anyone not to have sworn, they would have said worse than I did.
“There were only 200 complaints to Ofcom – nowhere near my record – but I did go into panic mode afterwards. I chased Simon into his dressing room and said, ‘You’re not going to fire me, are you?’ And he replied, ‘Don’t be f***ing ridiculous’. I said, ‘You know Simon, the world has gone mad now.’ It was unplanned and I didn’t mean it in any bad way, but there is so much political correctness now and so much stuff flying round that you just don’t know. I am lucky to have survived this long in this climate. I texted Piers Morgan and just wrote ‘#Gutted.'”
However, the swearing didn’t go down too well with her daughters Hollie, seven, and Alexa, 13, who had tuned in to watch their mum on the semi-final show.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, she said: “My kids would get b******ed if they swore. They were with my parents because they’re here helping out. My dad stuck up for me and said he only heard the first part of the word and the rest was a scream. Hollie said, ‘Mummy, did you say the F-word?’ and I said, ‘No, Hollie, Mummy didn’t really.’ Then she said, ‘But you definitely said the S-word on Stephen Mulhern’s show, didn’t you?’ And I had to just say, ‘Yes, sorry about that.’ Me and Chris really do try not to swear at home.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamara Wall says Grace Black is out for revenge.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star has revealed her alter ego is still blaming Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) – whose vehicle was taken – for the hit and run car crash that left her paralysed, and she has set her sights on a plan to kill him after he emerged as a key suspect.
She said: “At the moment, Grace believes Harry is responsible, because it was his car, and that’s the only thing she’s got to go on.
“She’s desperate to find someone to blame, because she’s gone through life changing injuries. If she found out Liam and Mercedes were responsible, she’d react in the same way she always does… Revenge!”
Tamara added that Grace is struggling since the crash, as she “isn’t used to feeling so helpless” with the extent of her injuries.
She explained: “Grace hasn’t been coping great since the crash, and she certainly isn’t used to feeling so helpless.
“She will never truly recover. She’s just trying to get around and learn how to do things differently.”
Meanwhile, the AGE-year-old actress admitted while she enjoyed the filming for the devastating scenes – which left her family in tears when they watched it – she wishes she’d been able to carry out the stunt herself.
She said: “It was truly amazing. I only wish I’d got to do the actual stunt myself… [My family] all came to visit me and watch it together. It made them cry!”
Tamara also heaped praise on her alter ego’s “strength”, and hinted that she will be focused “on herself” for the time being.
She revealed: “My favourite thing about Grace, is definitely her strength! And she’s not got her eye on anyone at the moment, I think she’s just going to concentrate on herself for a bit.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Miller has been scammed with fake tickets for the Champions League final.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star – who is a big Liverpool fan – is gutted after finding out the two tickets he’d bought for Saturday night’s (01.06.19) huge match against Tottenham Hotspur aren’t valid, but he is still hoping to make it to Madrid for the game at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Taking to social media to ask for help, he tweeted: “Ok, so I was sold two fake tickets to the #THFC v @LFC #LFC final in #Madrid – although my egos taken a hammering, I still want to go.
“Can ANYONE help me source another one? Please? I know they’re like Goldust but I’m in need of a favour. Not asking for a freebie. Just a ticket. (sic)”
Many of his followers were sympathetic to his plight, including co-star Natalie Ann Jamieson who sent a message of support.
She wrote: “No!!!???? Ah mate, I hope you find one! X”
With Danny searching for a ticket for the game, it suggests he has no plans to attend the British Soap Awards in Manchester on the same night.
Last month, the actor – who portrays Aaron Sugden-Dingle on the ITV soap – missed out on a nod for the upcoming event, while his Dales co-stars Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) all received nominations.
In a since-deleted Instagram livestream, he reportedly said: “I’ll tell you who I think is going to win … for the Best Actor category … Ryan or Jeff, either will work.”
He then appeared to read out a fan comment, saying: “You should win a Soap Award.”
Afterwards, Danny continued: “I know, I keep saying this to the Soap Awards every year, you’re so right. F**k the Soap Awards.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James McAvoy says the ending of ‘Dark Phoenix’ had to be changed “a hell of a lot” because of similarities to another superhero film.
The 40-year-old actor portrays Professor X in blockbuster and revealed that the end of the ‘X-Men’ film – which has undergone numerous re-shoots after wrapping up principal photography in October 2017 – was drastically altered as it was too similar to another unnamed film in the same genre.
In an interview with Yahoo! Movies UK, he said: “The end changed a hell of a lot. The finale had to change. There was a lot of overlap and parallels with another superhero movie that came out … a while ago. And we had no idea that we were.”
Michael Fassbender – who plays Magneto in the franchise – jokingly added: “They had spies on set, and [they] basically stole our ideas.”
James added: “We were basically trawling through the source material it seems.”
Although re-shoots on the film were extensive and pushed back the release date of the film, Sophie Turner – who plays mutant Jean Grey who becomes the titular Dark Phoenix – believes it was a “good decision” by director Simon Kinberg.
She said: “I think it’s so much better for the re-shoots. It was just one of those things that was where the third act … you watch the first two acts and the third act just didn’t feel cohesive. We went back and we redid all of the third act, pretty much, and it was such a good decision. The third act is the best part of the movie for me.”
The movie follows Jean as she’s transformed into one of the most powerful mutants in the world following a life-threatening rescue mission in space.
Jean soon loses control of her powers and spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy Earth.

OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Waller-Bridge was reportedly hired to work on ‘Bond 25’ to simplify the complicated plot about genetic engineering.
Earlier this year, the 33-year-old writer-and-actress – who penned the script of the hit assassin thriller TV series ‘Killing Eve’ and wrote and starred in the BBC comedy-drama ‘Fleabag’ – joined the writing team for the yet-to-be-titled film, which will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and most likely final outing as 007.
Now, it has been claimed that Phoebe was brought on board to make the complex plot for the story – which will explore genetic engineering and the Human Genome Project – “accessible” for cinema goers.
An executive connected to the film told the Daily Mail newspaper’s Baz Bamigboye column: “The movie’s premise is genetic warfare, which is fascinating but you gotta boil it down and make it accessible. That’s why Phoebe was hired. She has somehow made sense of it.”
Producer Barbara Broccoli previously revealed that she and Michael G. Wilson were desperate to hire the British writer to work on the film, helmed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
She said: “There aren’t many people in the world bright enough to bring some humour to the topic of genetics and the Human Genome Project.”
Phoebe previously hinted that she would be trying to “sneak” some of her signature feminist humour into the script.
She said: “It’s really exciting. The film they’ve got is such an exciting story. It’s been a joy to work on. It’s mainly about making them feel like real people, which they do in the previous films. I think Daniel’s films have had really fantastic Bond girls and it’s about keeping that up.”
Asked whether she would be including her famous feminist humour in the script, Phoebe said: “Well, we’ll see, we’ll see what I can sneak in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Burrows has become a father for the first time.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays Michelle Connor’s (Kym Marsh) biological son Ali Neeson on the cobbles – revealed the exciting news this week as he shared a snap of himself and girlfriend Sophie Coates as they enjoyed some time to themselves after the arrival of their daughter.
Taking to Instagram, he captioned the sweet photo: “Out with my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates baby free for a few hours while nana and grandad look after her #happyness (sic)”
James and his significant other discovered they are to become parents for the first time last year, and in March the soap star said he was “so excited” to meet his baby girl.
He said: “I’m so excited to be having a daughter; I can’t wait to meet her now.”
The pair seem unlikely to have any issues choosing a name for their little one as Sophie admits they discussed baby monikers on their first date, and it only took the pair a month to get pregnant.
She said: “We’d only recently said we’d properly start trying. And a month later we fell pregnant.”
But James admits he would’ve loved to have popped the question by now.
He said: “I’d liked to have got engaged before now. I was going to ask Sophie in Australia when we were visiting my family last November but then we found out we were expecting.”
James took to Instagram last October to confirm he and Sophie were expecting, and admitted they are “over the moon” to find out she is pregnant.
He wrote: “Me and my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates are over the moon to announce that we’re having a baby. We can not contain our excitement we are so so happy x (sic)”
