Anthony and Joe Russo explain Avengers: Endgame spoiler ban

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony and Joe Russo say the spoiler ban on ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was a reminder to be “respectful of others”.
Ahead of the film’s release, the acclaimed directing duo – who helmed ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ -penned a letter to audiences asking them not to reveal any details of the highly-anticipated film to other fans before they’d had a chance to see the film, and later announced that the “ban” would be lifted a couple of weeks later.
Now, the filmmakers have insisted that although they know they can’t “control the internet” the reason for their letter was an attempt to establish a “level of decorum” around the film and make sure fans were able to “experience the film”.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony said their pleas were: “Just a reminder to people — just be respectful of others and how they experience the film.”
Joe continued: “This is the environment we live in now. We can’t control the internet. It’s its own monster.
“Whether there’s malicious intent or compulsive intent to reveal story points of pop culture content, we wanted to make sure that we asked for a level of decorum in how all of that was dealt with.”
The brothers – who issued a similar letter ahead of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’- went on to reiterate that although they realise fans want to “discuss” the movie and “share [the] experience” they simply wanted to allow everyone to watch the film freshly themselves.
Anthony said: “We certainly respect the idea that when you see a film, you want to discuss it, you want to talk about it, you want to share your experience.
“And that’s a really important part of the process. But it’s trying to establish a window where people are given the opportunity to see the film.”

Idris Elba ‘really wants’ to star in romantic comedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba “really wants” to star in a romantic comedy.
The 46-year-old actor has previously landed films with a “little bit” of romance, he would “love” to do a “a true to form” light-hearted movie with a love story at its core.
In an interview with Newsweek, he said: “I really want to do a romantic comedy. I haven’t done that.
“I’ve done ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ and there was a little bit of that in it, but a true to form romance comedy is one I’d love to get into. I haven’t had that chance to do that.”
The ‘Luther’ star went on to explain that although there’s nobody he’d particularly like to work with on such a project, it’s the “story” that attracts him to the possibility of a romantic comedy and wants to find a script that would “move hearts with love and romance”
Asked if he has a dream co-star in mind, he said: “No, no one particularly. Really it’s more about the story, finding that great story that would move hearts with love and romance and all those feelings.
“But in terms of an actress, I can’t think of any names right now. I just think doing a film like that would be the one.”
Idris added that he enjoys “complex characters” and likes that he isn’t always cast in a specific type of role.
He said: “I think my favourite type of role is one that people don’t think I’m going to play. My favourite type of role is one that allows me to show a different side of myself. I like complex characters.
“I enjoy that I have that. There’s no form of ‘Oh Idris [is going to] play that, you know that.’ I like switching it up.”

Jay McGuiness claims ‘everyone is at it’ on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay McGuiness claims “everyone is at it” on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former The Wanted singer won the 13th series of the BBC Latin and ballroom show in 2015, and he has now said there are plenty of saucy shenanigans and people “hooking up” behind the scenes.
He is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “There was definitely things going on, I know for a fact that people were hooking up. It can feel that everyone is at it.
“People snog behind the scenes and it gets brushed under the carpet. People seem to be all over each other. It’s a constant cycle.
“Some of it will die after a week, and then it’s about the next season. Some people get away with it, and some people don’t.”
On the year he won ‘Strictly’ he was partnered with professional dancer Aliona Vilani, but insists he was “very well behaved” when he was a participant on the show.
Jay has previously hinted about backstage romances on ‘Strictly’ and said things get heated because people get intimate and work closely together on the show.
He said: “It’s just a bunch of really mad people in close proximity that don’t normally hang out. You have like athletes and pop stars and newsreaders, all together.
“I don’t think it’s anything to do with ‘Strictly’, it’s an element of being up close and personal with people. Then I don’t know, after the second show and people get on the champagne.”
Jay has also revealed the make-up artists on the show “love to gossip” and try to fuel romances by “stirring” up secrets backstage.
He said: “The make-up women, they love a gossip! They’ll be saying, ‘Oh I think he likes you’ and ‘Oh I think she likes you.’ They stir it!”

Good Omens director included secret Terry Pratchett tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Douglas Mackinnon included a secret tribute to the late Sir Terry Pratchett in ‘Good Omens’.
The director has revealed producers of the Amazon Prime Video show – an adaptation of the 1990 novel Terry penned with Neil Gaiman – included the late author’s iconic hat in a string of scenes as a way of honouring Terry, who died in March 2015 at the age of 66.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “In the series Michael Sheen’s character Aziraphale has a book shop in Soho and it’s the best book shop you can imagine.
“The shop has a hat stand and every time we go there, Terry’s hat is sitting on it. It’s front and centre so it’s there for people to see.”
‘Good Omens’ stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel and demon who must join forces to find a way to save the world.
Douglas says there are “little references” to various projects the cast have worked on, including David’s stint as the titular Time Lord on hit BBC sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’, throughout the series.
He said: “There are little references to different shows we all worked on in the past.
“There are some for ‘Doctor Who’, some for ‘Sherlock’ and other shows like that.”
Terry’s long-time pal and collaborator Neil paid homage to the writer at the show’s premiere last week by sitting next to a chair on which his trademark hat and scarf were placed.
He said: “Terry always used to say to me, ‘You know the big difference between us, Neil, is you believe that one day there’ll be a ‘Good Omens’ movie. I will only believe it, whatever happens, if I’m sitting next to you at the premiere with a big bag of popcorn – and I don’t promise I’ll believe it then.’
“And I like to think, if he were here, right now, he might believe, as we made it for him. So just so everybody knows, right here, right at the front, is Terry Pratchett’s hat, and an enormous bag of popcorn.”

Lucy Fallon wants Italy return for Bethany Platt

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Fallon wants Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt to go back to Italy when she leaves the soap.
The 23-year-old actress is hopeful “no bad things” will happen to her character – who she has played since 2015 – when she departs the cobbles in 2020, and she is keen for her alter-ego to return to the European country, where she spent half of her live with mum Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) before returning to Weatherfield four years ago.
She said: “If it was up to me she would leave in a really nice way, just going to Italy or something. Smiling and happy, no bad things happening. But we’ll see …”
Lucy is “hopeful” Bethany won’t be killed off, and she is keen to take on some more “dark” storylines right up until her exit next year.
She said: “I just think it’s just the right time really.
“Hopefully in the next year they can churn out some good ones. I like the dark ones.”
Bethany’s biggest storyline to date saw her groomed by evil Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), and she loved playing out the hard-hitting and would be keen to do similar hard-hitting storylines if she was sticking around in Weatherfield.
She added to RadioTimes.com “If anything that storyline would’ve been the thing that I would want to stay because [of]. I loved it so much and I’d want to do more of those storylines.”
While nothing is ever certain in Soapland, Lucy recently assured fans she will be back on the cobbles at some point.
She said: “I will be sad, but I’m excited to see what’s going to happen in the future, although I have no idea what’s going to happen.
“When I leave I’ll have been there for five years, and I’ve never done anything else. But I’ll end up going back – I’ll be back.”

Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard crashes website after revealing favourite position

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard crashed a sex website after revealing his favourite position.
On Tuesday night’s (04.06.19) episode of the ITV2 dating show, fans were left baffled when the 23-year-old dancer – who is the brother of Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard – revealed that his favourite “romantic position” was “the eagle”.
He said: “The eagle is my favourite romantic position, we shall say … I will leave you all to find that one out yourself because I’m not telling you what it is.”
The confession left fans immediately hitting the search button to find out what the position is, causing one site to crash with several viewers sharing grabs along with an error message that read: “This website is under heavy load (queue full)
“We’re sorry, too many people are accessing this website at the same time. We’re working on this problem. Please try again later. (sic)”
One fan said: “Looks like we’re all googling what ‘the eagle’ is (sic)”
Another wrote: “So many people are googling the eagle right now that the websites gone down… (sic)”
One more tweeted: “Take it I wasn’t the only person who was wondering what the eagle sex position is. (sic)”
Last night’s episode saw Curtis and fellow Islander Tommy Fury – who both arrived late to the villa – given the opportunity to couple up with a taken girl.
Curtis paired up with Amy Hart, who was with Anton Danyluk, but Tommy rocked the boat in the villa when he chose the 21-year-old beauty Lucie Donlan to be his partner, despite her being paired with Joe Garratt.

Love Island’s Tommy Fury to turn attention to Amber Gill?

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Tommy Fury will ask Amber Gill if she is interested in “getting to know him” on tonight’s (05.06.19) episode – less than 24 hours after coupling up with Lucie Donlan.
The 20-year-old boxer delivered a sucker punch to fellow Islander Joe Garratt by opting to couple up with the 21-year-old surfer, leaving Joe single, but after going on a date with her the fighter approaches 21-year-old Amber to admit he doesn’t want to put all his “eggs in one basket”.
Growing worried about Lucie’s loyalty to Joe, Tommy tells Amber: “I went on that date last night and it was a good date but I feel like I woke up this morning and you can’t put all your eggs in one basket.
“I know you’re a straight up girl so what I want to know is … would you be open to getting to know me?”
Amber replies: “Yeah. I’m getting to know everyone. I’m not putting my eggs in one basket.”
Tommy’s comments come after he enjoys a date with Lucie, and admits he picked her rather than the beauty therapist because she “tickled [his] heart”.
He tells Lucie: “I wanted to go with my heart. I wanted to couple up with you because I believe something was there.”
She says: “I heard that it was between me and Amber?”
He replies: “She’s a lovely girl but she didn’t tickle my heart like you did. I don’t know what it is. I get butterflies when I see you.”
Lucie tells Tommy he is “good with words”, but she ends up sleeping on the sofa that night following a discussion with Joe.
The catering company owner says: “You’re probably not ready to talk about stuff right now and it’s fine, we’ll hold it back another day, but I feel like you’ve come back and you’re keeping your options open.”
And she replies: “I just want to go to sleep.”
In another twist, while Lucie and Tommy are out on their date Amber starts grafting Joe, admitting the “stupidest thing” she did was not step forward for him during the day one coupling.
And she makes it clear she has no feelings for Callum Macleod, who she is currently with.
She explains: “He [Callum] knows that nothing is there. It’s not happening. I need someone with a bit more about them.”

Molly-Mae Hague won’t ’cause issues’ in the Love Island villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague doesn’t want to “cause issues” in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 20-year-old social media influencer is set to become the first female bombshell to enter the villa on the ITV2 reality show this year after her appearance was teased at the end of Wednesday’s (05.06.19) episode.
As a latecomer to the villa, Molly-Mae may have to step on some toes to get the man she wants, but says that whilst she’s willing to “go to the length” she needs to to secure her dream hunk, she doesn’t want to “upset anyone”.
When asked how far she’s prepared to go to get the guy she has her sights on, she said: “I wouldn’t go out of my way to cause issues, that’s not the way I am. I’m a laid-back person, I don’t like to argue. Obviously, I’ll go to the length I need to go to get the guy I want but in the process I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone. If someone was deeply involved with someone and had deep feelings, I would try and still get what I want but not try and upset anyone.”
And although she doesn’t mind stealing another girl’s man in the villa, she insists that’s not something she’d ever do with her friends, as she has a “big girl-code”.
She said: “I’ve got big girl-code. My friends come first before any guy. I always have their back. I’d like to say I am good at giving advice as well, I’m a very good listener. I would never tread on someone’s toes. It’s just not the way I am.”
The blonde beauty doesn’t want a “cocky” guy, but would love to find a hunk who makes her laugh.
Speaking about her ideal type before entering the villa, she said: “Definitely someone that can make me laugh. Laughing is my favourite thing, I have to be constantly laughing! That’s what keeps me in a good mood and keeps me positive. Having good energy around me is so important. Obviously, you want to wake up and fancy the person next to you but at the same time it’s all about what the vibe is like.”
‘Love Island’ continues tomorrow night (06.06.19) at 9pm on ITV2.

Lucie Donlan left in tears over Love Island love triangle

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Lucie Donlan has been left in tears over her love triangle with Tommy Fury and Joe Garratt.
The 21-year-old beauty had originally paired up with Joe on the ITV2 reality show, but their budding love was thrown into turmoil during Tuesday’s (04.06.19) show when newcomer Tommy – who is the younger brother of Tyson Fury – stole her away in a shock re-coupling.
And on Wednesday (05.06.19) the trio saw tensions mount, as Tommy slammed Lucie for looking at Joe, despite being paired up with him.
He told her: “Every time I look over I see your f***ing eyes and I’m like, what’s going on here? We’re in a f***ing couple, I wanna get to know you there’s no f***ing crime against that.
“I think you’re too nice of a person to upset anybody. You don’t want to upset me and don’t want to upset Joe.”
Lucie received support from her fellow female islanders who sympathised with her as she admitted she doesn’t know who to go with, and was later seen bursting into tears while talking to Curtis Pritchard about the situation.
She said: “I know, it’s just I’ve been talking about it all day. It’s because like, everyone’s being so nice and I’m like ‘Oh god’. I haven’t even had a chance to like, talk to everyone.”
And Curtis – who is the brother of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star AJ Pritchard – was supportive as he told her: “Don’t get upset. You just need to think about you. Honestly, don’t get upset. Well maybe you do, maybe you just need to cry and let it out, that’s not a bad thing at all.”
‘Love Island’ returns to screen tomorrow (06.06.19) night on ITV2 at 9pm.

“I still go out with friends and it’s nice to be able to drive home. I’m not in my 20s anymore.
“I look after myself and I’ve always looked young for my age.
“My eldest daughter is 13 and she’s nicking all my clothes and I nick hers too. She’ll say, ‘Nice leggings mum, nice top.’ ”

Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he said: “I am so excited! Honestly my brother has always supported me through everything and I can’t wait to support him 100 per cent.
“He’s deprived me of my summer though but I just can’t wait. I think the best way to explain my brother is that he’s infectious and everybody falls in love with him.
“As soon as you watch the first episode, if he’s anything like the brother I see off camera, it’s going to be an entertaining show. I can’t wait to see it on camera.”
The ballroom dancer also opened up about what he’s hoping for from the next series of the BBC competition, and revealed he would relish a challenge after being paired with Claudia Fragapane, Mollie King and Lauren Steadman so far.

Daniel Radcliffe to star in Who Do You Think You Are?

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe is to feature on ‘Who Do you Think You Are?’
The ‘Harry Potter’ actor will delve into his past on the BBC genealogy show to look into the story of his great-great-uncle Ernie who fought at World War I.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “When Daniel starred in TV drama ‘My Boy Jack’ – one of his first major roles after Potter – his inspiration was his great-great-uncle Ernie, who lost his life in World War I.
“As Daniel investigates exactly what happened to Ernie during the war, he discovers an extraordinary and moving cache of letters Ernie wrote home.
“He pieces together the heart-breaking story of how Ernie fought alongside his three brothers and how all of them, except for Ernie, survived.”
It comes just a month after Kate Winslet was also said to have signed up to the series to explore her past.
She is said to have been in the UK filming her episode already for the 16th series of the popular programme.
An insider recently explained: “Getting a bona fide film star to take part in ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ is a real coup for the makers of the show.
“There’s only been a handful of participants on a similar level, such as Sir Ian McKellen and JK Rowling, and she’s likely to top the bill of names in the new series.
“The programme continues to be one of the most popular shows on the Beeb and signing up genuine stars is proof of its ongoing appeal.”
The episode is likely to delve into her maternal grandfather, who got divorced and remarried – which was a huge scandal at the time in 1938.
He also married a woman 17 years younger while another of Kate’s relatives, Robert Bridges, married his own cousin – nine years his junior – in 1851.

Beverley Callard missed Soap Awards to do sanding

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverley Callard missed the British Soap Awards to do some sanding.
The 62-year-old actress – who plays Liz McDonald in ‘Coronation Street’ – skipped the star-studded event at The Lowry, Salford, on Saturday (01.06.19), so she could stay at home and do some DIY.
Bev wrote on her Twitter page: “Congrats to all at the soap awards! I was sanding woodwork- lol. I hear you all had a ball! x (sic)”
The ‘Corrie’ legend previously quipped she would quit Weatherfield and spend her days doing DIY if she could afford it, and would be able to swap Liz’s famed leopard print outfits and mountains of war paint for baggy clothes and no make-up.
She said: “If I could afford it I would never go to work again, I would have no make-up on, I would wear baggy clothes.”
Beverley is such a big fan of doing jobs around her house and helping her husband out with home improvements she has booked herself on a polished plaster course.
She said: “I did labouring [on my birthday]. My husband built a chimney breast and I was his labourer.
“I was passing trowels, and emptying buckets of wood. I chipped off 600 tiles. I love it [DIY].
“I’m doing a course in polished plaster.”
Beverley’s alter-ego Liz doesn’t share her desire to wear baggy clothes, with the bubbly blonde often seen wearing skin-tight attire – much to the former ‘Emmerdale’ actress’ disgust.
She said: “Many times I get into my dressing room and think, ‘No, do I really have to wear that?’
“I’m sure the costume department go shopping for Liz and just have a laugh.
“Even if they find something nice for me I go, ‘That’s really nice,’ and then they take it in, so it doesn’t fit me and I look an absolute disaster.
“And they go, ‘Beverley, that’s great for Liz.’ ”
