OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Tweedy is returning to ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
The 35-year-old singer has agreed to continue her role as dance captain on the BBC One talent show, which sees performers compete for £50,000 and a chance to perform on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, when it returns for a second series next year.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “I don’t think I’m allowed to say but I’m going to anyway – I’m going back to the dance show. I’m going to get told off for that, but it doesn’t matter because it’s just a fact. I love, love, loved the dance show.”
The former Girls Aloud star was joined on the programme by Broadway legend Matthew Morrison and ‘Strictly’ professional Oti Mabuse but it’s not yet known whether they too are planning to sign another contract with bosses for the next instalment.
As well as judging and coaching the competitors, the trio were also given the chance to showcase their dance skills as they performed a routine at the start of every show and then choreographed and took part in their contestant’s number during the final.
Host Jordan Banjo said last month: “Cheryl brought so much to the show as a dancer and dance captain. She was wicked to work with and handled everything really well. Her performance with the Strictly pros was like a baptism of fire. Getting on stage with them at world-class level and holding her own, she smashed it.”
The fact that Cheryl has signed up for another series of ‘The Greatest Dancer’ means that it’s highly unlikely that she’ll be joining the ‘X Factor’ judging panel.
It was rumoured that the ‘Call My Name’ hitmaker was being lined up to sit alongside Simon Cowell and another familiar face when the celebrity series hits screens.

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts had “no business” being in ‘Pretty Woman’.
The 51-year-old actress portrayed the vivacious Vivian Ward alongside Richard Gere’s Edward Lewis in the 1990 rom-com – which sees a prostitute and wealthy businessman fall madly in love with one another – and Julia has revealed that before the late director Garry Marshall took over the reigns of the movie, she was not interested in the original script which was named ‘3,000’.
Speaking in an interview for ‘Variety Studio: Actors on Actors’ with Patricia Arquette, who also auditioned for the lead part, Julia admitted: “I had no business being in a movie like that.”
The ‘Notting Hill’ star ended up landing the gig, but within a matter of days the company launching the movie “folded” and she was left without a job.
Julia continued: “I get the part. The studio that had it – this small movie company folded over the weekend – and by Monday, I didn’t have a job.”
The Hollywood star explained that she lost interest when she found out Disney were involved, as she assumed the flick would be turned into an animation.
However, as soon as “great human being” Garry jumped on board, she was reassured that the film was “something more in my wheelhouse”.
She added: “So the script – there was one producer that stayed with the script – and then it went to Disney.
“And I thought, ‘Went to Disney? Are they going to animate it? Like how does this become a Disney movie?’
“Then when [director] Garry Marshall came on, and I think because he’s a great human being, he met me just because I had once had the job and he felt it would only be fair to at least meet me since I had this job for three days and then lost it.
“And they changed the whole thing. And it became something more that is in my wheelhouse.”
Patricia, 51, also revealed that there was an alternate ending, which was darker and grittier.
She recalled: “It read like a really gritty art movie. The ending was really heavy.”
Julia added: “Threw her out of the car, threw the money on top of her, as memory serves, and just drove away, leaving her in some dirty alley.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolverine isn’t in ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ because of the age gap between Hugh Jackman and Sophie Turner.
After appearing in every ‘X-Men’ movie – besides ‘Deadpool’ – from 2000 to 2017, the 50-year-old actor officially retired from the role and director Simon Kinberg has explained he didn’t want to tempt him with a cameo comeback opposite the 23-year-old leading lady.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: “If you know the ‘Dark Phoenix’ story, you’d want to really service the love story between Logan and Jean. “And I think the notion of Hugh Jackman, as great as he looks for his age, and Sophie Turner — it didn’t sit well with me. Or anyone else!”
However, Kinberg also revealed that besides the 27 years between the two stars, he also didn’t want to distract from Turner’s moment in the spotlight as Jean Grey and her alter ego take centre stage.
He said: “There was an element of this being Jean’s story. And I was committing so fully to it that I didn’t want to run the risk of pulling away from Jean by going to the well of a fan-favorite character in these movies.
“I wanted this to be a very different experience of seeing an X-Men movie.”
Meanwhile, Jackman has made it clear in the past that after his character was killed off in 2017’s ‘Logan’ – which was set in 2029 – that he doesn’t want to reprise the title role.
Dashing hopes of a collaboration between himself and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, he previously confirmed: “No [I won’t play Wolverine again], but Ryan is relentless. He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms.
“I just said, ‘You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.’ Maybe a cameo from Deadpool? I just think it runs over it for Deadpool.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis is taking over from Maya Jama and Alice Levine as host of ‘The Circle’.
The Channel 4 game show – which became a huge hit with viewers last year – is returning for a second series and will see a group of contestants compete for a whopping £100,000 whilst living in a block of flats where their only form of communication is via social media.
Emma – who hosted ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ from 2013 until 2018 – is thrilled to have landed the presenting gig.
She said: “I’m delighted to be part of something incredibly relevant and can’t wait to see how mischievous people are prepared to be for £100,000.”
The new series will see the addition of a weekly live show and bosses reportedly decided to recruit Emma as a “big gun” in the TV presenting field having hosted various shows, including ‘The Voice UK’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “The producers decided to bring in one of the big guns in Emma. She will host a big launch event, and front a live show on a Friday.”
Alex Hobern won the first series and came away with £75,000 by making fellow contestants believe he was a woman named Kate by using pictures of his girlfriend.
It’s up to the individual as to whether they choose to be themselves or trick people into thinking they are another person entirely.
Alex recently teased that the new series will be “bigger and better than ever”.
He said: “The show is back, bigger and better than ever. I can’t wait to watch the stories unfold from this year’s new contestants and see who’s life it changes – like it changed mine.
“From what I’ve heard, the new series is going to have even more twists; I’m just glad I get to watch it this time!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price and boyfriend Kris Boyson have signed up for ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The former model and her partner are both set to appear on the E4 show despite being in a relationship as the agency experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson look to break new ground by providing counselling for the couple.
Katie said: “We’ve come to Paul and Anna to help us out because there are just too many people involved in our relationship. Too many chefs around and too many stories going on about us.”
And Anna revealed the team is “excited” to be branching out as the agency will provide “couples therapy” to help Katie and Kris, and she thinks it will also be useful for viewers.
She added: “We’re really pleased and excited to be opening up the agency to couples this time.
“Couples therapy is something that can be hugely beneficial to all relationships. It’s very much a sign of strength, not weakness, to welcome external help.
“Our viewers are going to learn even more this series about dating and relationship dos, don’ts, and dynamics.”
A host of stars have already been lined up for the upcoming series, with Lady Colin Campbell, Lauren Goodger, Lee Ryan and Nathan Henry set to appear alongside ‘Love Island’ stars Jack Fincham and Megan Barton Hanson.
The latter had previously insisted she wouldn’t appear in another reality show, but she admitted she has been struggling with finding romance in the spotlight.
She previously said: “I vowed never to do [a] reality dating show again. However, dating in the public eye is massively harder than anticipated. I cannot wait to see who the agents will set me up with and help me find the one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Lawson spread his late wife’s ashes earlier this year – nine years after her passing.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor admits he “still misses” his second wife Lesley Bond, who he called Ellie, following her death in 2010 aged 55 after battling alcohol addiction.
And he recently took a trip to Ardnamurchan Peninsula in south-west Scotland with his current partner Debbie Stanley to scatter her remains after she told him they “need to do this”.
He said: “Debbie instigated it and told me, ‘We need to do this’.
“We went to the beach Ellie had chosen along with the dog we shared, Seamus. It was very moving, a fitting end in a beautiful part of the world.
“If there’s a heaven, she deserves to be there because she had a very unpleasant life. She was too good for this place. The poor wee soul was too damaged to be here. I still miss her.
“Debbie is my girl, but Lesley has a special part of my heart and always will have. I’m proud of Debbie for doing what she did and I’ll never forget it.”
The 59-year-old star – who plays Jim McDonald in ‘Corrie’ – had some “really great times” with Lesley, who died of hypothermia following a fall, but the couple had to go their separate ways when she became a “raging alcoholic”.
Speaking to Sunday Life, he added: “I fell in love with Lesley, but she was very, very ill. A few years back – almost eight years – she had a horrible end. She’d become a raging alcoholic and we’d had to separate.
“There was no one else involved and we still loved each other very much, but it was becoming dangerous to be with her. When Lesley was bad, she was bad, but there were some really great times.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Barrymore “could not be more sorry” about the death of Stuart Lubbock.
The ‘Strike It Lucky’ presenter’s career was left in tatters after he was arrested on suspicion of rape and murder after the man’s lifeless body was found in his swimming pool in 2001 and he has now apologised for the tragedy because he he “f**ked up” and feels responsible for the incident because he invited people to his home for a party.
Speaking to Piers Morgan on an episode of ‘Life Stories’ that will air this weekend, he said: “I could not be more sad. I could not be more sorry that this event took place.
“It was at my house and they don’t have all the answers to how he got these injuries. I could not be more sad or sorry if I have to be for the rest of my life.
“Of course it goes through my head and I want things different. I wish I could change it for them.
“I f***ed up. What more do you want? I f***ed up.
“I’m sorry. I could not be more sorry. I’m sorry for swearing. I do apologise. I’ve never swore in front of an audience.
“I was responsible for allowing people to come back to my house and to go out to the pool. All of them were . . . there were no children. Stuart was 31. You assume they was capable of looking after themselves.”
But Michael insisted he doesn’t feel “remorse” over the incident because he didn’t do anything “horrific”.
He said: “You know, some people say, ‘You did not show any remorse.’
“But the word remorse applies to when you have actually done something horrific. So how do you show remorse?”
And the 67-year-old presenter slammed “idiots” in the local police force for the way they handled the investigation into Stuart’s death and suggested they were responsible for the injuries on his body.
He said: “The idiots at Essex Police have been disgraceful with the way that they have dealt with this.
“I have not come on here to gain anything or to do anything other than to do the show. Stuart’s gone. And that family deserve proper answers and the police have not completed their inquiries properly.
“One of their own officers said that he, when he was younger, jumped into a pool and had sustained exactly the same injuries. Essex Police weren’t interested in listening to that.
“I think Stuart drowned. These injuries don’t appear until 4.30pm the next afternoon.
“Suddenly eight hours later after he is pronounced dead these injuries appear. Well, where else do you go? It’s the police.”
While Stuart’s dad Terry has previously requested a new inquest and said he was “totally disgusted” when Michael sued for wrongful arrest, the former ‘My Kind of People’ star insisted Terry has always been “charming” to him and even encouraged him to try and revive his TV career.
He said: “His dad, when I’ve met him three or four times now, has always been charming with me.
“Even more so when he realised that as time went on there were unanswered situations with Essex Police. I said, ‘I thought you were going to punch me in the face and I would have quite happily taken it on the chin,’ when we first met.
“After a period of time he has been nothing more than charming. In fact the last time at the court when I won the wrongful arrest case he said, ‘It would be nice to get you back on the telly.’
“I said, ‘Well let’s not worry about that at the moment, eh?’ ”
Michael also admitted he had tried to take his own life while in rehab after the accident.
Asked how he tried to do it, he said: “Tablets.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny Agutter likes wearing a wimple on ‘Call the Midwife’ because she can “tuck her face in”.
The 66-year-old actress – who is best known for portraying Sister Julienne on the hit BBC drama – likes to pull the strap of the cloth headdress because she can see her face “starting to fall”, but she isn’t too worried about wrinkles.
Jenny told Good Housekeeping magazine: “I have lines, lots of them but do you know what, I don’t mind. We should all enjoy every line we’ve got on our faces, because we’ve earned each one.
“The part that worries me is when your face starts to fall. I can see it starting to happen to mine, so I just try to work around it.
“The best bit about wearing a wimple for ‘Call the Midwife’ is that you can just pull the strap round and tuck your face in it!”
Jenny – who has a 28-year-old son Jonathan with her husband Johan – claims she has no plans to go under the knife because she is “too squeamish” for surgery.
She said: “I’m too squeamish for cosmetic surgery. I’ve also seen the results of it and the forms that people have signed; you’ve no idea what’s going to happen while you’re under anaesthetic.
“If there was a new invention that guaranteed to keep you muscles doing what they should, that would be a different story … sign me up.”
The ‘Railway Children’ star also believes women can “absolutely” be sexy as they mature.
She said: “Age expectations have certainly changed. When I was growing up there was a ‘twinset and pearls’ age that you go to: Women hit middle age, cut their hair short and got their cardigans out.
“That’s just not the case anymore. Look at someone like Tina Turner, who’s both extraordinarily attractive and an extremely sexy person. She’s carried on being sexy right into her 70s! It’s about having a sort of naughtiness and an enjoyment of things.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Barrymore’s late ex-wife is still the love of his life.
The 67-year-old presenter divorced Cheryl Barrymore in 1997 – two years after he came out as gay – after 21 years of marriage but has admitted he has never loved anyone else the way he did his former spouse, who died in 2005.
Asked if she was the great love of his life, Michael – who said in 2010 he was no longer gay but could be bisexual – admitted: “She was, absolutely. I don’t think I’ve loved anybody else like that. You are not together 18 years, never mind the ups and downs, nobody is.
“Nobody goes up the aisle thinking, ‘Oh I’ll be out of this in ten years’.
“We all go in because we genuinely love the person for what they are as the person.”
While the ‘Strike it Lucky’ star’s career never recovered after Stuart Lubbock was found dead in his swimming pool in 2001 and Michael now lives alone with his dog Dave, he insisted he still lives a “very happy and full” life.
Speaking to Piers Morgan on an episode of ‘Life Stories’ airing this weekend, he tearfully said: “I live on my own with Dave, my dog. When I go home tonight I will say to Dave, ‘I saw the Morganator earlier. There were a fantastic crowd there. It was like the old days, it was nice.’
“I will tell him hopefully I did not come over like an old fool. We had difficult conversations. Dave will stick by me whatever. Dave will be here — as long as I feed him.
“I live a very happy and full life. Coming here tonight I have realised how much I love it.”
Having rejected the host’s interview request four times previously, Michael admitted during the show he was delighted to be back on prime time TV.
He said: “I have gone through the emotions, up and down, thinking about it. And when I got here today it all came back.
“TV is something that I do. It is 18 years since I have done a proper show, this style of show. I’m happy.
“The warmth of the audience just lifts you. All the years I had not been working, what I learned to do was live without it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba thinks DCI John Luther is “like Batman”.
The 46-year-old actor loves the fact his detective character in ‘Luther’ is so “complex” and particularly enjoys his alter ego’s “dark sense of self” and focus on his goals.
He said: “He’s a complex character. It’s a character that allows me to really flex my dramatic wavelength. But he’s smart. He’s intuitive. He’s instinctual. He’s masculine. He’s muscular.
“And it’s not just muscularity in the narrative–he thinks big and he’s like, ‘I’m gonna go for this.’ He doesn’t second-guess himself. He makes some really big leaps of calculations in his head that are more oftentimes correct. He’s just dynamic. He’s kinda like Batman. He has that dark sense of self. He just wants to go for whatever he needs to go for. I like that in playing in character.”
‘Luther’ returned to screens this year for the first time in four years and Idris admitted it “felt really good” to step back into the role because his character is a great outlet for his own emotions and he even regards the show as a form of “therapy” for himself.
He told Newsweek.com: “He always ends up being therapy for me because he’s such a big character and he exercises all his demons.
“I can scream, shout and let out a lot of energy. So it felt really good actually stepping back into Luther’s shoes… In those few years, so much stuff has happened in my life. [It’s] good stuff that’s making my life more complex and rich. And so I got to play Luther and just dive into him, which was great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Woody Allen is set to shoot a new film in the summer with Christoph Waltz in the lead role.
The 83-year-old director – who had his last movie, ‘A Rainy Day in New York’, put on hold by Amazon after allegations he had molested his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow when she was seven years old resurfaced – will also work with Gina Gershon, Elena Anaya, Sergi López, Louis Garrel and Wallace Shawn on the movie, which will be funded by Mediapro, who produced his movies ‘Midnight In Paris’ and ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’.
The untitled project – which is being referred to as WASP2019 during production – will follow an American couple as their marriage is tested at the San Sebastián film festival when the husband falls for a “beautiful Spanish woman” and his wife for a “brilliant French movie director”.
Jaume Roures of Mediapro said: “This latest movie has all the ingredients to be right up there along with what we’ve become accustomed to from a director of Woody Allen’s talent: an intelligent script and a first-rate international cast.”
The project will shoot from July to August and sees Allen – who has denied Dylan’s allegations – reunite with Oscar-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, with whom he collaborated with on 2016’s ‘Café Society’, 2017’s ‘ Wonder Wheel’ and ‘A Rainy Day in New York’.
‘A Rainy Day in New York’ – starring Jude Law, Selena Gomez, Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Hall and Elle Fanning – was filmed in 2017 but Amazon put it on hold indefinitely in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
However, it was reported last month that the film will be released in Italy last this year via distributor Lucky Red.
The website also reports that other European countries have closed local distribution deals and there is speculation that it could launch in September at the Venice Film Festival.
After Amazon ditched the film, the rights to the movie are now being sold by Glen Basner’s FilmNation Entertainment.

OHMYGOSSIP — Glen Powell is set to star in ‘I Wanna F**k Your Brother’.
The 30-year-old actor – who is best known for his roles as Chad Radwell in the Fox comedy-horror series ‘Scream Queens’ and astronaut John Glenn in the 2016 drama ‘Hidden Figures’ – will play the lead role in STX’s upcoming comedy.
Melissa Stack – who penned the 2014 comedy ‘The Other Woman’ – will helm the feature, which is a reworking of her 2007 Black List script ‘I Wanna F**k Your Sister’.
The story will centre on an uptight lawyer who brings her younger brother (Powell) to work at her firm for the summer with him quickly become the object of desire of the powerful women they work for.
Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch will produce via their Escape Artists banner.
‘I Wanna F**k Your Brother’ marks Stack’s first time directing after writing ‘The Other Woman’, which followed New York lawyer Carly Whitten (Cameron Diaz) who abides by strict rules when it comes to her dating life – but when she falls for the suave Mark King (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), she begins an unintentional affair with him.
A surprise visit to Mark’s home reveals he’s married to devoted housewife Kate (Leslie Mann) and it’s soon discovered he’s sleeping with a third woman (Kate Upton), leading the trio to join forces and get vengeance – however Stack previously revealed that the film isn’t “so much about revenge” but about ” women supporting each other.”
She previously said: “It wasn’t so much about revenge – whether you’re single or married, everybody has a moment or a relationship where things just don’t go well.
“For me it was about how you have a happy second act when your life blows up on you. I know so many people who had to face that, so that was where it became more about the women supporting each other.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Marcel Somerville thinks the ‘Love Island’ casting process needs to change.
The former Blazin’ Squad star – who was chosen last when he appeared on the programme in 2017 – thinks producers need to consider the “tastes” of contestants if they want to avoid a “colour situation”, after Yewande Biala was initially snubbed when the show returned to screens this week.
He said: “The one thing that lets the show down is when they’re doing their casting they don’t take into consideration people’s tastes.
“The casting progress needs to change. They need to listen and think about who they’re putting in the villa and at what times.
“They need to make sure people match up in terms of their types, they put a bunch of good looking people in there but if you’re putting people in there that won’t form connections you’re making it impossible − especially if it is a person of colour, they’re making it seem like it’s a colour situation.”
And Marcel – who found love on the show with Gabby Allen – admitted he was concerned that his “ethnic background” was the reason why he was snubbed during the first couplings.
He told The Sun newspaper: “As a person of ethnic background you do feel ‘Is it because I’m black?’ You do have that go through your head.
“I’m not different from anyone else, I’m a human, I go to the gym, I have a good body. The only difference between you and that person is the colour of your skin.
“For my description I said I was tall dark and handsome but that can mean something totally different.
“But a girl may say the same in her application but mean a tanned man not a black man.
“When Samira [Mighty, 2018 contestant] was on the show she liked dating white guys but they didn’t send in any white men that liked dating black girls.
“She could fancy someone and put everything on the line for that person but it won’t be reciprocated to her because she’s not their type. They put Samira in the villa but no one was interested for weeks.
“Samira is totally beautiful, the fact she found it so hard in the villa was perplexing.”
When it comes to his own dating life, the 33-year-old star insisted he is interested in “all different kinds” of women, unlike some of the other contestants.
He said: “In my year there were no girls in the villa that liked to date black guys. I was there thinking to myself ‘This is a bit strange.’
“I like to date all different kinds of girls, to me it doesn’t matter about your nationality, race or background, as long as we have a connection we can see where things go.
“Other people are very focused on looks and appearance.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley is considering acquiring a sausage dog – but is concerned her son might be “too rough” with the long-bodied pooch.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has appealed to her social media followers for advice on the “best miniature dog breed for kids”, and while she is a big fan of dachshunds, she has concerns about their spines at the hands of her four-year-old boy Alfie.
Catherine wrote on Twitter: “Best miniature dog breed for kids guys? I love sausage dogs but worried Alfie is a bit too rough and tumble re their spines! (sic)”
But her former co-star Kym Marsh – who plays Michelle Connor on the ITV soap – has recommended she give a King Charles spaniel mutt a go.
In response to her pal – who played Eva Price – Kym tweeted: “Well he’s not a miniature dog but my King Charles spaniel is and always has been wonderful with kids babe. I asked the same question when looking for a dog when polly was 3 and most said King Charles x (sic)”
Kym has a King Charles spaniel called Barney and in November she added to her barking brood by acquiring a black, white and brown Chihuahua called Rico, to go with her other dog, short-haired Chihuahua called Lola.
The moniker is a nod to Barry Manilow’s hit ‘Copacabana’, which tells the story of a mobster called Rico who takes a fancy to a showgirl called Lola.
But just a week later, the ‘Corrie’ star – who is to depart Weatherfield in the coming months – was already getting sick of cleaning up little Rico’s poops.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony and Joe Russo say the spoiler ban on ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was a reminder to be “respectful of others”.
Ahead of the film’s release, the acclaimed directing duo – who helmed ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ -penned a letter to audiences asking them not to reveal any details of the highly-anticipated film to other fans before they’d had a chance to see the film, and later announced that the “ban” would be lifted a couple of weeks later.
Now, the filmmakers have insisted that although they know they can’t “control the internet” the reason for their letter was an attempt to establish a “level of decorum” around the film and make sure fans were able to “experience the film”.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony said their pleas were: “Just a reminder to people — just be respectful of others and how they experience the film.”
Joe continued: “This is the environment we live in now. We can’t control the internet. It’s its own monster.
“Whether there’s malicious intent or compulsive intent to reveal story points of pop culture content, we wanted to make sure that we asked for a level of decorum in how all of that was dealt with.”
The brothers – who issued a similar letter ahead of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’- went on to reiterate that although they realise fans want to “discuss” the movie and “share [the] experience” they simply wanted to allow everyone to watch the film freshly themselves.
Anthony said: “We certainly respect the idea that when you see a film, you want to discuss it, you want to talk about it, you want to share your experience.
“And that’s a really important part of the process. But it’s trying to establish a window where people are given the opportunity to see the film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba “really wants” to star in a romantic comedy.
The 46-year-old actor has previously landed films with a “little bit” of romance, he would “love” to do a “a true to form” light-hearted movie with a love story at its core.
In an interview with Newsweek, he said: “I really want to do a romantic comedy. I haven’t done that.
“I’ve done ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ and there was a little bit of that in it, but a true to form romance comedy is one I’d love to get into. I haven’t had that chance to do that.”
The ‘Luther’ star went on to explain that although there’s nobody he’d particularly like to work with on such a project, it’s the “story” that attracts him to the possibility of a romantic comedy and wants to find a script that would “move hearts with love and romance”
Asked if he has a dream co-star in mind, he said: “No, no one particularly. Really it’s more about the story, finding that great story that would move hearts with love and romance and all those feelings.
“But in terms of an actress, I can’t think of any names right now. I just think doing a film like that would be the one.”
Idris added that he enjoys “complex characters” and likes that he isn’t always cast in a specific type of role.
He said: “I think my favourite type of role is one that people don’t think I’m going to play. My favourite type of role is one that allows me to show a different side of myself. I like complex characters.
“I enjoy that I have that. There’s no form of ‘Oh Idris [is going to] play that, you know that.’ I like switching it up.”
