OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dark Phoenix’s original ending was strikingly similar to ‘Captain America: Civil War’, according to director Simon Kinberg.
The 45-year-old filmmaker has admitted that the original finale to the new X-Men film shared a lot in common with that of the 2016 Marvel movie, which starred Chris Evans as Captain America.
Simon shared: “My original ending didn’t have the entire X-Family together the way they are in the film now.
“More than ‘Captain Marvel’, you could see a lot of ‘Civil War’ in that ending. Usually, these big, huge action movies have the climactic moment in the third act.
“I loved the way that ‘Civil War’ had its big action action set piece where everyone’s facing off more towards the end of the second act rather than in the third, so that after that huge battle, you’re left with ‘Winter Soldier’, ‘Captain America’, and ‘Iron Man’.
“It’s this telescoped-down view of their raw emotions, and I loved how intimate that was.”
Simon explained that he drew inspiration from the Marvel franchise as he looked forward to creating ‘Dark Phoenix’, which stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.
The director – who also wrote and produced 2016’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ – told io9: “That’s what I was going for with ‘Dark Phoenix’s ending even though it then might have looked like ‘Captain Marvel’ for about two minutes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Chuckle has relied on comedy to cope with the death of his brother Barry.
The TV comedy star – who appeared alongside his beloved brother on the hit children’s series ‘The Chuckle Brothers’ – has admitted he’s relied on laughter to get him through the heartbreak of losing Barry to cancer in 2018.
He shared: “When you lose someone who is close to you, it physically hurts inside.
“It really hurts. I still miss Barry terribly. I’ve had a lot of loss in my life.
“I’ve lost my mum and dad, my only sister, and in 1974 I lost my three-month-old daughter. You don’t get used to it.
“But you can’t hold it in. You’ve got to let it out of you. You’ve got to cry. You’ve got to talk to people. And, later on, you have to have a laugh and a joke and remember the good times.”
Paul has been overwhelmed by the support of the public since his brother’s death.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “So much love poured out when the news broke that Barry had passed away.
“And even though he’s not here any more, people are always coming up to me to say we were part of their childhood. That’s great to hear.
“Chucklevision was on for more than 20 years. It had a really long run. So anyone under the age of 46 probably watched it through their school years.
“Everywhere I go I get people shouting, ‘To you, to me’. It’s happened in Rome, in Barcelona – wherever there are people from the UK I get it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo and Stanley Johnson are set to be reunited on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The 24-year-old TV star and Stanley, 78 – who is the dad of politician Boris Johnson – previously starred together on ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, and they’re about to be reunited on a spin-off of the popular Channel 4 show on June 14.
The celebrity duo are among a number of big-name guests who will appear on the upcoming show, with Little Mix stars Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Perrie Edwards also poised to make an appearance.
Elsewhere, TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal will star on the show, as will the likes of Nicole Appleton, Melanie Blatt and Emily Atack.
Meanwhile, Toff previously admitted she has had learn to deal with increased levels of pressure and scrutiny since she won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2017.
In particular, Toff explained she’s had to be strong when internet trolls have criticised her accent and her skin.
She said: “Having social media does open you up to trolling, and mine is always about my skin.
“I see comments occasionally about the way I speak but it goes straight over my head. You speak the way you speak and it is a silly thing to judge someone on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena has officially joined the cast of ‘Fast and Furious 9’.
The 42-year-old actor and professional wrestler was believed to be joining the lineup for the upcoming movie back in April when star of the series Vin Diesel teased his involvement, and on Friday (07.06.19), Universal officially confirmed he will be appearing in the film.
John’s character is currently still under wraps, but Deadline has reported he will be playing “a bada**”.
The WWE star confirmed the news himself in a Tweet which read: “For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family. (sic)”
‘Fast and Furious 9’ will start production later this month for a May 2020 release, and is being written by Dan Casey using a story by Justin Lin.
Vin Diesel is producing through his One Race Films banner, and Justin Lin will also produce through Perfect Storm Entertainment.
The inclusion of John Cena in the story comes as both Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham will be sitting this instalment out, as they’re both busy filming a spin-off movie about their own characters, entitled ‘Hobbs and Shaw’.
Alongside John and Vin, Jordana Brewster is on board to reprise her role as Mia Toretto, who was last seen in ‘Furious 7′, which served as the send off for her on-screen husband Brian O’Connor, played by the late Paul Walker.
And Michelle Rodriguez is also set to return as Letty Ortiz, after a female writer joined the production following Michelle’s complaints that she was originally unsure about coming back to the series due to being disappointed with how the series’ female characters were treated.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Thompson is a true “comedic force”, according to director Nisha Ganatra.
The 44-year-old filmmaker relished working with the award-winning actress on the new comedy-drama ‘Late Night’, saying the film showcases Emma’s broad array of talents.
Asked about the experience of working with Emma, Nisha shared: “I have been such a fan of hers, for her whole career. I never dreamed that I would get the honour of directing her.
“She is just so good at everything. I think she’s the finest actor of our time. She is equally generous, humble and gracious, and will execute any note you give her, perfectly. The joy of directing her is that collaborative spirit.
“I find film-making the most collaborative art. Everyone pretends that it’s about the director, but it really is such a collaboration.”
Emma, 60, plays a late-night talk show host in the new movie, which also stars Mindy Kaling.
And Nisha was thrilled to work with such a talented performer.
She told Collider: “I was so invested in showing everybody what a comedic force Emma Thompson is because I think people forgot that she started in comedy and that she is a brilliant comedian.
“When she allowed me that freedom of directing her, it was just the pinnacle of my experience so far. I think she’s spoiled me for life.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury has gotten himself involved in another ‘Love Island’ love triangle, just days after wedging himself between Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt.
The 20-year-old boxer – who is the brother of Tyson Fury – caused a stir on the ITV2 reality show earlier this week when he entered the villa late and snatched Lucie away from her partner Joe, starting a love triangle between the three of them as Lucie was unable to decide where her loyalties lie.
After newcomer Molly-Mae Hague entered the villa just days ago, the public voted to see her pair up with Tommy, meaning he had to abandon Lucie and end her tough decision, but he’s now already found himself in trouble again.
On Sunday’s (09.06.19) episode of the show, 24-year-old Anton Danyluk swooped in on 20-year-old social media influencer Molly-Mae, after she complained that Tommy has been taking a back seat in their romance.
The gym owner gave Tommy a heads up after talking to Molly-Mae, but the boxer later bemoaned his situation in the beach hut.
Anton told Tommy: “I’ve been getting to know her today. I hope that’s fine. Obviously I’m going to have chats with her. There’s no harm in it.”
And Tommy later told producers: “I’ve gone from one love triangle right into another here.”
His decision to back off from Molly-Mae comes after she saved him from being dumped from the villa in the first eviction this week, as she paired up with him and sent 28-year-old Callum Macleod packing.
During their first date, Tommy had packed on the compliments to Molly-Mae, and their romance was looking promising.
Molly-Mae told him: “Your eyes are amazing.”
To which he replied: “Likewise. You are … amazing! Looking at you now, you’re 100 percent my type.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryan Cranston says his ‘Breaking Bad’ alter ego Walter White “could” be brought back from the dead in a dream sequence for the movie sequel.
The Tony Award-winner portrayed the chemistry teacher turned drug kingpin in the hit TV series, which ran from 2008 to 2013, and he says there is only one way for his deceased character to return.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Well, rigor mortis has a way of allowing that to happen.
“It could be! Could be [in] a flashback, or a flash forward. I’m still dead, Walter White, I don’t know what [could happen.]”
Showrunner Vince Gilligan is creating the film set in the same universe as the original TV show.
Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman is to provide the focal point to the feature-length follow-up.
Sources previously told The Hollywood Reporter that Netflix will have first-run rights to the project, before it will then air on AMC.
Gilligan is also expected to direct, as well as executive producer alongside Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein.
Cranston previously confirmed the movie was in the works but wasn’t sure if he would be a part of it.
He said: “Yes, there appears to be a movie version of ‘Breaking Bad’.
“But I, honestly have not even read the script. So I couldn’t tell you.
“I have not gotten the script. I had not read the script, so there’s a question of whether we’d even see Walter White in this movie! Think about that one.”
But the 63-year-old star admitted he would jump at the chance to reprise his role should the screenwriter ask him.
He said: “I would, absolutely [be in it].
“It’s Vince Gilligan. If Vince Gilligan asked me to do it, sure, absolutely. He’s a genius.”
Though not much is known about the movie, the ‘Why Him?’ actor teased that it will allow some of the other characters’ journey’s to be completed.
He added: “It’s a great story, and there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some sort of completion to some of these storylines that were left open.
“This idea, from what I was told, gets into at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.
“I can’t wait to see all those people again … even if I just come by to visit!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Allen wasn’t allowed to improvise on ‘Toy Story 4’.
The 65-year-old actor has voiced space ranger action figure Buzz Lightyear since the original 1995 movie in Pixar’s beloved animated saga, and while he used to “ad lib” some of the funniest lines in the movies, the process has changed over the years.
Speaking to CinemaBlend, he said: “The classic to me was when I would ad lib. It’s not like Robin [Williams] when he did ‘Aladdin’. When I would ad lib, it’s not a happy moment for the animators.
“They’ll go, ‘Oh god, that was funny, that was funny…’ which means they have to go back and reanimate it. Mrs Nesbitt, when I got drunk on Darjeeling tea and I’m holding my own arm in my hands… and I said, ‘Is the hat too much?’ It was hysterical and they left that in.
“Also, when Woody goes, ‘You are a toy!’ and I said, ‘ You are a sad, strange little man and you have my pity.’ The animators are going, ‘Oh, damn, that’s funnier than what we wrote.’ Early on, they’d give it to me. Lately they just say, ‘Tim, read the script.’ ”
Despite not quite having the same freedom to improvise around the lines, Allen did admit he now feels an ownership over the character after playing him for so long.
He explained: “You honor the process. When these guys let you just go and find who Buzz is. I will say, the last of this is I’ve gotten to a point where — I can’t believe I’m saying this — I’ll go, ‘Buzz wouldn’t say that.’
“I mean, I’m telling the people who created this character and I get kind of huffy. ‘Buzz doesn’t get that excited and he won’t say that! I’m gonna get some sliced pineapple.’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Tatro has joined Judd Apatow’s latest comedy about Pete Davidson’s life.
The 27-year-old actor-and-comedian – who is best known for his role in Netflix true-crime mockumentary ‘American Vandal’ and appearing opposite Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in 2014’s ’22 Jump Street’ – is set to star in an unknown role in the untitled semi-autobiographical film revolving around the ‘Saturday Night Live’ comic, which is set for release on June 19, 2020.
The film’s script has been penned by Apatow, Davidson and Dave Sirus and Apatow will produce the picture for his Apatow Productions alongside Barry Mendel.
Pete, 25, grew up in Staten Island, New York City, and lost his firefighter father in the September 11 Twin Towers terror attack, when he was just seven, and the comedian has previously admitted that the death of his parent has greatly influenced his stand-up routines – which he started at the age of 16.
Pete was also previously engaged to Larry David’s daughter, Cazzie David, 25, as well as pop superstar Ariana Grande, 25, who he popped the question to after just four weeks of dating.
The ‘Till I Die’ rapper joins the growing cast of Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Bel Powley, and Pamela Adlon.
Colson will also star alongside Maude Apatow – the daughter of director Judd and Leslie Mann – who will play Pete’s on-screen sister in the movie.
Maude has previously featured in her dad’s early films including ‘Knocked Up’, ‘Funny People’ and ‘This is 40’.
Jimmy will next be seen in the buddy comedy ‘Stuber’ which stars Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, as well as Hugh Jackman drama ‘Bad Education’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Famke Janssen is “just happy” Jean Grey is finally getting her own standalone movie in the ‘X-Men’ franchise.
The 54-year-old actress portrayed the telepathic mutant character in the original ‘X-Men’ trilogy alongside Hugh Jackman, James Marsden and Halle Berry and she is delighted that the Marvel character is the star attraction in ‘Dark Phoenix’ – which sees Sophie Turner in the starring role – because he story arc in the Marvel comics is “really powerful and very important”.
In an interview with Variety, she said: “I’m just happy that Dark Phoenix got her own movie because she deserves it. And it’s a really powerful and very important story in the comics, that in ‘The Last Stand’ we just touched upon the tiniest part of. It was something that needed to be told as a full-blown film and now that’s happening. And it’s wonderful.”
The ‘Golden Eye’ star also revealed that ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Sophie approached her prior to taking on the role of Jean for the first time in 2016’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ to ask for her blessing which Famke was more than happy to give.
She said: “She did [reach out before initially taking the role] and she reached out again and she’s lovely. I’m so excited to see the film.”
The movie follows Sophie’s Jean Grey as she evolves into the Dark Phoenix – one of the most powerful mutants of all – after being hit by a cosmic force during a life-threatening rescue mission in space.

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ will not be an origin story.
Following the news that ‘Twilight Saga’ star Robert Pattinson has been cast as The Caped Crusader in the upcoming superhero movie, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the movie will see The Caped Crusader already fighting crime when he returns to the big screen in 2021.
But the report claims Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and masked alter ego is “still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective”.
Director Reeves apparently sought out an actor around 30 years old to reflect that Batman is not yet the “world’s greatest detective” and DC Films wanted Patinson, 33, as he has no connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The news that Pattinson would be taking control of the Batmobile was confirmed earlier this week by Reeves on Twitter.
Warner Bros. Pictures – who are making the movie with DC – were reportedly torn between the 33-year-old actor and Nicholas Hoult to portray the legendary character but decided on the former ‘Twilight’ star to replace Ben Affleck who had portrayed The Dark Knight in the DC Extended Universe films.
He posted a gif of Robert and added three bat emojis.
Pattinson now joins a long list of high profile names to play the iconic role.
Michael Keaton received critical acclaim for his outings in the cape and cowl in 1989’s ‘Batman’ and 1992’s ‘Batman Returns’ – both of which were directed by Tim Burton – and he was followed by Val Kilmer and George Clooney who played Bruce Wayne and his alter ego in ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘Batman & Robin’ respectively.
Christian Bale took on the role for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy which is considered by many critics to be the best of the Batman movies.

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Hill is set to host ‘Junior Bake Off’.
The 54-year-old comedian is “very excited” to be fronting the new 15-part Channel 4 series – which will air later this year – for Stand Up To Cancer as he previously took part in a celebrity spin-off for last year’s campaign.
During his stint, he made a biscuit based on a previous vacation with the Duchess of Cornwall, and designed a bikini-clad Camilla out of gingerbread for the charity competition.
Harry said: “I’m very excited to be going back in the tent and breathing the cake fumes. I know a certain duchess will be looking on, brimming with pride.”
The ‘TV Burp’ star will front this year’s show, while ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge Prue Leith and former contestant Liam Charles will be on hand to size up the efforts of the country’s best junior bakers who are aged between 9 to 15.
Liam presented ‘Bake Off: The Professionals’ after he was knocked out in the 8th week of the competition in 2017.
And the 21-year-old star is very proud of his journey all the way up from competitor, to host and now judge.
He said: “From competing to hosting and now judging, it’s insane. It’s going to be great to see what the junior bakers come up with because this is around the age I started.”
Prue – who took over from Mary Berry on the show in 2017 – said she is thrilled to be asked to star on the children’s version of the show as she wants to “widen the nation’s interest in good food”.
She added: “Almost all cooks and bakers start with brownies or pizza, finding it fun, creative and satisfying.
“So the more we can do to widen the nation’s interest in good food the better. I’m really thrilled to be asked to judge ‘Junior Bake Off.’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Collabro are reportedly a big target for ‘Britain’s Got Talent: Champions’.
ITV bosses are said to be desperate to sign up the group – who won the eighth series of the show in 2014 and consist of Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan and Thomas J. Redgrave – for the new show, but they are keen to bring back Richard Hadfield, who quit the band in June 2016.
A source told The Sun Online: “Producers are desperate to get the whole band back together, as it would make great TV to show them talking through their issues and working things out – then reuniting on stage together.
“It would spark interest in the band again and they would think viewers would love to see them back together as they were then.”
However, another source suggested any return would just feature the current lineup.
The insider said: “The band as they are now have been in talks with ‘BGT’, Richard left years ago so there’s no reason why he would be part of it.”
Following the success of 13 series, the ITV talent show is going to be getting together the winners and other memorable stars so they can battle it to decide who is the ultimate champion of the show.
It has already been confirmed that Susan Boyle – who shot to fame when she finished second in 2009 – is on the line-up after she recently impressed judge Simon Cowell on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ when she made it to the final 12.
The singer could also be joined by 2012 winner Ashleigh Butler, who triumphed on the programme with her dancing dog Pudsey, who sadly died in 2017.
She now performs alongside his replacement Sully.

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague arrives at the ‘Love Island’ villa tonight (06.06.19).
The 20-year-old social media influencer is set to become the first female bombshell to enter the villa on the ITV2 dating show, but she won’t be meeting her fellow Islanders straight away.
Upon arrival, Molly-Mae – who has said she is willing to “go to the length” she needs to to secure her dream hunk – immediately heads to the Hideaway on Thursday’s episode, after viewers were given the opportunity last night to send one boy on a date with her.
It remains to be seen who will be send to join her, but relationship are already starting to form in the villa.
Elsewhere, singleton Anton Danyluk decides he wants to make a move on Anna Vakili – who is currently paired up with Sherif Lanre – and it’s set to cause some drama.
Anton tells her: “I do want you to know that I find you very attractive. I’ve told all the boys in here.”
However, Sherif isn’t happy with him, and wants to try and make it work with Anna – although she doesn’t think he’s putting in enough effort.
In the Beach Hut, he says: “It isn’t over between me and Anna. I do intend to carry on in that aspect. We’re still in a coupling and I want to make that work.”
Despite his intentions, Anton insists he doesn’t see a “connection” between the pair, and so he wants to keep going with his self-dubbed “Operation Double A”.
He adds: “To be honest I see no romantic connection between Sherif and Anna so I don’t plan on backing off.”
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two in Ireland and ITV2 in the UK.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond found ‘Hollyoaks’ a lot more “nerve-wracking” than filming live TV.
The roving reporter often shoots live segments on brunch-time show ‘This Morning’, but she found acting alongside “really good” actors on the Channel 4 soap a lot more daunting.
When asked what is more “nerve-wracking”, she replied: “‘Hollyoaks’, every time.
“Working with other actors and new people who are really good is nerve wracking.”
Alison will make a cameo on the soap as herself when she rocks up at the village to present Nikki Sanderson’s character Maxine Minniver with a £5,000 cheque, raised by members of the public on a crowd funding page, after Maxine rang up ‘This Morning’ and claimed she is terminally ill.
And while she was a bit nervous, Alison had such a good time on set with Nikki, Jacob Roberts (Damon Kinsella) and Niamh Blackshaw (Juliet Quinn).
She said: “They put me so at ease and made me feel really comfortable. We were laughing the whole time, we were like naughty school children.
“I enjoyed actually getting down and doing my scenes. I loved working with a big crew and working alongside Nikki and Jacob – it’s been a treat.”
The former ‘Big Brother’ star is no stranger to soap acting, having had a few stints in BBC daytime show ‘Doctors’, and admits she records her lines on her phone to try to learn them.
She said: “The only way I can learn lines is if I record it on my phone and then play it back to myself – I play it before I go to sleep and by the morning it’s basically in there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Lawson is pleased his pal Adrian Dunbar is getting the “recognition he deserves” after 40 years of hard work.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor is “chuffed” the ‘Line of Duty’ star has found fame from the show, because his long-time friend has been “working his ass off” for four decades.
Charlie said: “I seem to spend more time talking about Adrian than anything else. That’s mainly down to his amazing performance as Ted Hastings in ‘Line of Duty.’
“I’ve known him for a long time. Aidy and I come from different communities and were poles apart when we met.
“When he first came to live with me, there was a [loyalist] Vanguard flag hanging up and he was the first Catholic I’d ever met.
“We have been firm friends for 40 years, with never a cross word said. We’ve never fallen out about Northern Ireland.
“I have the utmost respect for the man, despite the fact he holds different views.
“Aidy taught me a lot. I am over the moon with ‘Line of Duty’ – it was brilliant.
“Aidy has been working his ass off for 40 years and has never had the recognition he deserves.
“Aidy’s famous now and I’m dead chuffed for him – I think it’s brilliant. He’s probably not bothered, but I’m dead pleased for him.”
Charlie is looking forward to partying with his fellow pals Aidy and Neil Morrissey when he turns 60 this September, and says he is “going to have a big shindig”.
Speaking to Sunday Life, he added: “I’m 60 this year and the old brothers in arms – me, Aidy Dunbar and Neil Morrissey – are going to have a big shindig… everybody duck!
“I’m really looking forward to being able to celebrate my birthday with those two boys because we’ve been friends for a very long time.”
