Chris Hemsworth helped Tom Holland land Spider-Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth “made a call” to help Tom Holland land the role of Spider-Man.
The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ actor did his best to back his 23-year-old pal by reassuring Marvel bosses that his friend is “one of the most talented” people he’d ever worked with.
He revealed: “I mean, look, we worked on In the ‘Heart of the Sea’ together, obviously, then through ‘Avengers’ and as they were casting him for Spider-Man, I did what I could do and made a call and said he’s one of the most talented people I’ve worked with and has such a big heart and appreciation.
“I don’t know, we have a great friendship, it’s a good mutual respect.”
The pair recently interviewed one another to promote Chris’ new movie ‘Men In Black: International’ and Tom’s latest outing as the webslinger, ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, and the British actor described his friend as his “hero” when he shared a clip from the funny chat last week.
And Chris admitted his admiration for Tom is just the same.
Told about his friend’s caption by ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he replied: “Aw, did he? Well, he’s my hero in life.”
Tom recently admitted playing Spider-Man had fulfilled his childhood dreams because he was always “obsessed” with the superhero when he was growing up.
He said: “I’ve been playing Spider-Man in my bedroom since I was a kid.
“I grew up watching the films and I watched all the cartoons. I was kind of obsessed with him. When I walked on set for my first day it was my first day on the MCU but it was my thousandth time playing Spider-Man so I felt like I had it in the bag.”

Kelvin Fletcher ‘gutted’ about Ryan Hawley Emmerdale exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelvin Fletcher has been left “gutted” after Ryan Hawley quit ‘Emmerdale’.
The 35-year-old actor portrayed Andy Sugden, the brother of Ryan’s alter-ego Robert Sugden-Dingle, in the ITV soap from 1996 to 2016, but he is now heartbroken after it was revealed his former co-star is departing the Dales.
Referencing the nickname soap super-fans have given to Robert and Aaron Sugden-Dingle’s (Danny Miller) relationship – he wrote on Twitter: “So what do I do with my Robron mug now?! Gutted [broken-hearted emoji] (sic)”
And a number of ‘Emmerdale’ fans are also heartbroken by the news.
One wrote: “Too soon Kelvin”
Another posted: “Way too soon. Still in shock.”
One shared: “My heart is in pieces”
Ryan has portrayed Robert since 2014 but he is expected to leave the soap later this year to “try other projects”.
An ITV source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “‘Emmerdale’ fans have loved every minute of Robron’s story, and what Ryan has brought to playing Robert. But he has decided to take a break from the show for the foreseeable future and try other projects.
“He will leave later this year, but fans can expect to see him on screen right up until the end of the year. He will be sorely missed.”
Last year, Kelvin admitted he keeps in touch with Ryan and Danny, but doesn’t watch ‘Emmerdale’ anymore because he needs to “put some distance” between himself and the soap.
He said: “I don’t watch as it clashes with my daughter’s bedtime and I needed to put some distance between me and the show but it doesn’t matter because everywhere I go, the public keep me up to speed.
“They ask why I haven’t visited Sarah (Andy’s daughter) or if I even know she’s ill. They’re very passionate both in person and on social media.
“I do keep up with how the show is doing in terms of awards as I’m still good friends with Danny Miller and Ryan Hawley. They’ve both continued to do so well as has Emmerdale over the past couple of years. It’s so well deserved and a long time coming.”

Ben Fogle donating Animal Park salary to fund TV licences for over-75s

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Fogle is donating his entire salary for presenting this year’s ‘Animal Park’ to help pensioners pay for their TV licences.
The 45-year-old TV host has been left “disappointed” with the BBC’s decision to scrap free TV licences for most over-75s, so he has vowed to give away the money he’s received from co-presenting the corporation’s show, which documents life at Longleat Estate and Safari Park, to “subsidise licences”.
He wrote on Instagram: “I LOVE the BBC. I think it is one of the greatest institutions in the world. It is the envy of most nations, it makes amazing content and I’d argue it is still value for money. I also owe my whole career to the BBC. They gave me my first break and they (you) employed me for many years but I am disappointed in the recent announcement on the abolition of free licences to the over 75s. I don’t entirely blame the BBC. I think the government forced their hand. I have decided to donate my entire salary for this years BBC Animal Park to subsidise licences for those over 75 who have no way of paying for a licence. (sic)”
Ben will donate the money to charity Age UK, and he has called for the BBC to “rethink the licence”.
He added: “This is not virtue signaling (although I do think it’s time to rethink the licence) but we owe it to those over 75 who have served their country in the armed forces, the NHS, the fire service etc. Let’s not penalise those who most value the great BBC. I think society is in danger of losing its moral compass. This is the least I can do for those over 75, an often neglected sector of society. Wouldn’t it be nice if we started respecting, loving and thanking our elderly population. Love and peace all @age_uk (sic)”
The broadcaster – who shot to fame on BBC reality show ‘Castaway 2000’ – admitted his late grandparents would’ve been “lost” without their TV licence, and he also took the opportunity to reveal his mother, ‘Alfie’ star Julia Foster, will be appearing in the new ‘Doctor Who’ series on the channel.
He wrote: “My late grandparents, Jean and Dick LOVED the BBC. They would have been lost without it in their twilight years. My mother has made many great BBC dramas over the years and is soon to appear in the new Dr Who (spoiler alert). (sic)”

Duchess Catherine launches competition with Blue Peter

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Cambridge has joined forces with CBBC show ‘Blue Peter’ to launch a once-in-a-life-time competition asking children to design a sculpture for her Back To Nature garden.
Duchess Catherine – who is married to Prince William – has teamed up with the longest running children’s TV programme in the world to ask viewers to create a piece of artwork that will become part of her Chelsea Flower Show garden when it moves to RHS Wisley in Surrey, South East England, in September. The entries must be inspired by the theme of nature.
Catherine, 37, will appear in a special film which will be included in the episode of ‘Blue Peter’ which is to be broadcast on Thursday (13.06.19) in which she will discuss her love of the outdoors and reveals how her and William’s three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and 14-month-old Prince Louis are “dragged outside” whatever the weather.
Catherine – previously known as Kate Middleton before she married into the British Royal Family – is seen participating in pond dipping, planting and team den building with Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell and local school children at Westminster City Council’s Paddington Recreation Ground.
Speaking about her family’s outdoor trips, she says: “Rain or shine, they’re dragged outside. It’s great. It encourages creativity, confidence and even a short amount of time – 10 or 15 minutes outside – makes a huge difference to both physical wellbeing but also to our mental wellbeing.”
Catherine and Russell are also challenged to a team building competition by young gardener and RHS ambassador George Hassall, and viewers will see Team Catherine and Team Lindsey face-off against each other.
Speaking about the challenge – which the duchess wins – Catherine says: “There’s so many cool things in here. I love it, but I am in your hands.”
On the show, Catherine – who, along with her 36-year-old husband, is a Gold Blue Peter badge holder – is presented with a new green Blue Peter badge, for her work with the “environment, conservation and nature”.
The competition will launch on ‘Blue Peter’ on CBBC on Thursday at 5.30pm and is open until noon on Tuesday, June 25.
Go to www.bbc.co.uk/BluePeter for more information and to enter the competition.

Charley Webb ‘so tired’ during latest pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Charley Webb can barely stay awake past 4pm due to her latest pregnancy.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who plays Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap – is expecting her and co-star Matthew Wolfenden’s (David Metcalfe) third child together, but admitted she always “forgets just how tiring” being with child is.
She wrote on Twitter: “I am SO tired. It gets to 4pm and I’m done. I forget just how tiring being pregnant is. And then I do it again and remember (sic)”
This comes just two weeks after the 31-year-old star revealed she has been left in “agony” after she was diagnosed with a pregnancy-related pelvic condition, SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction), which has seen her muscles relax too much ahead of her birth.
She said: “I still get waves of sickness but I’ve also been diagnosed with SPD [symphysis pubis dysfunction].
“It’s when your muscles have relaxed too much ready for the birth.
“It’s agony.”
Charley – who has kids Buster, nine, and three-year-old Bowie, with Matthew – also admitted she is keen to give birth in a hospital rather than at home “for the sake of [her] own anxiety”, but her hubby has other ideas.
She said: “Matthew’s up for a home birth but I’d like to be in a hospital for the sake of my own anxiety, in case anything went wrong.
“I’d be lying if I said I really enjoy the experience of getting bigger.
“But I appreciate what my body is doing. I think pregnancy is amazing.”

Danny Mac’s Sexiest Male ‘pride’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Mac is becoming increasing more “proud” of his Sexiest Male soap awards as he is growing older.
The 31-year-old star scooped no less than six of the accolades at the British Soap Awards and Inside Soap Awards from 2011 to 2015, when he portrayed Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage in ‘Hollyoaks’, and he is feeling more and more satisfied by the gongs.
He said: “There’s myths and legends [about how many] and I lose track now. I think it was three or four?
“I am proud. I’m becoming more proud of it the older I get.
“One to show the grandkids.”
But Danny admitted he and his wife, former ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Carley Stenson – who portrayed Steph Cunningham on the Channel 4 soap – “haven’t got time” for children just yet.
When asked if he has plans for kids, he said: “Not yet, we haven’t got time. We don’t see each other.”
Danny is currently starring in ‘Amélie the Musical’ and Carley is in ‘Les Miserables’, and the happy couple only recently managed to fit in their honeymoon to Bali – 18 months after they tied the knot.
He said: “We were working, we were so busy.
“It was totally worth the wait, and it was quite nice to elongate that special time as well.
“If it was all done within a fortnight we’d be gutted. It would’ve been two years behind us, but we’ve managed to keep it going.”
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, Danny added: “We had to take a few days out of rehearsals just to get married.”

Paul Walter Hauser joins The Ballad of Richard Jewell

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Walter Hauser has joined Clint Eastwood’s ‘The Ballad of Richard Jewell’.
The 32-year-old actor-and-comedian – who is best known for his roles as Shawn Eckhardt in ‘I, Tonya’ and Ivanhoe in Spike Lee’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’ – will play the titular character in the forthcoming film, which follows police officer and security guard Jewell after he is wrongly accused of planting the bomb during the Olympic Park bombing during the 1996 Atlanta Games.
The upcoming movie follows Jewell as his life is transformed after the police leaked that he was a suspect in the incident.
Jewell – who found a suspicious backpack in the Olympic Park, before clearing the area and saving lives – quickly went from being considered a hero, to one of the most disliked people in the US.
Leonardo DiCaprio was previously attached to portray Jewell, but he is no longer starring in the movie and will simply produce.
Jonah Hill was also set to star in the film, but will now join DiCaprio in a producing role.
The script has been penned by Billy Ray, who previously wrote 2013’s ‘Captain Phillips’.
The role of Jewell is still yet to be filled.
Following Fox and Disney merging together, Warner Bros. have now signed a deal to the rights of film.
Meanwhile, even at the age of 89, Eastwood is showing no signs of slowing down.
‘The Mule’ filmmaker previously insisted he doesn’t have any intention to retire from the movie business, although he is planning to be more selective about his projects in the coming years.
He explained: “Maybe I just don’t want a certain volume of work, but, no, it hasn’t lessened. I love what I do … I’ll probably keep on going. I feel good, but it depends on material. I probably wouldn’t do something just because it was marginal – I have to kind of think it has some validity and has some relationship to today.”

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt eyed for Fantastic Four reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are being eyed for Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot.
The 39-year-old actor and his wife Emily, 36, are being considered to play Reed Richards and Sue Storm in the forthcoming remake of the 2005 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name, according to We Got This Covered.
John would portray Mister Fantastic, whilst Emily would play Invisible Woman, the wife of Richards who was the first female superhero created by Marvel during the Silver Age of Comics.
Although the pair are being eyed to star in the film, the couple are reportedly two of “many actors” being considered at this “early, early stage”.
The couple previously starred alongside each other in the 2018 horror flick ‘A Quiet Place’ – the first time they had appeared on screen together – and are currently working on a follow up to the film, which is scheduled for release in May 2020.
Emily will return in her role as Evelyn Abbott with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, back as her children.
The movie follows the family in a post-apocalyptic world that has been taken over by blind monsters with an acute sense of hearing.
John, 39, previously claimed that he never intended to make a sequel and was “mind-tricked” into writing his idea for the next movie.
He said: “I’ll be honest with you: I really didn’t want to do the sequel. It was never built to launch sequels, which we all knew, and the studio knew too. But also, I’m a realist. I know that when you have a success like this, everyone wants to make another one. I told them to go find another filmmaker and writer, and they said, ‘But don’t you have an idea?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I have a tiny idea,’ so they said, ‘OK, while we’re talking to other people, keep thinking about it’. They basically mind-tricked me into wanting to write it.”

Lib Dem MP calls for support for axed Love Island star Sherif Lanre

OHMYGOSSIP — Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb is calling for for ITV bosses to support axed ‘Love Island’ contestant Sherif Lanre.
The 20 year old left the villa this week by “mutual consent” with producers for breaking one of the ITV2 reality dating show’s rules and so far there has been no confirmation as to what Sherif did to be kicked out of the villa.
In the wake of departure, Sherif has been the subject of relentless social media speculation over what he did and now former Health Minister Lamb has urged ITV to ensure there is proper post-show care in place for him to ensure he copes with the fallout following the tragic suicides of past stars Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.
Lamb is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “There has been a tragic lack of care for reality stars.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that ‘Love Island’ producers do not want to the truth about Sherif’s indiscretion to become public knowledge because they fear the show could be axed due to public pressure.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There is extra pressure this year and producers have remind everyone taking part to be extra careful. All contestants have been told they can speak to anyone at any time if they are feeling under strain but have also been reminded of the rules they signed up to.”
Sherif addressed his departure on his Instagram account after arriving back home and insisted he is “all good” despite his early and enforced exit from the villa.
He wrote: “Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I’ve come back to. I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on ‘Love Island’, and for anyone wondering, I’m all good.”

Himesh Patel had ‘no interest’ in reality TV after EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel had “no interest” in reality TV after leaving ‘EastEnders’.
The former Albert Square star – who portrayed Tamwar Masood on the BBC One soap from 2007 to 2016 – admits it didn’t cross his mind to delve into the world of reality TV after he waved goodbye to Walford, but he was keen to pursue some comedy acting.
He said: “Reality TV held no interest whatsoever.
“I always enjoyed comedy, as a viewer and performer.
“I think teenagers who like it are often misfits, and I was a bit of a misfit.
“I enjoyed ‘hyper-real’ comedy – ‘The Office’, ‘Peep Show’, ‘The Day Today’, ‘Alan Partridge’, all that stuff.”
Himesh – who went on to star as Nitin in Channel 4 sitcom ‘Damned’ from 2016 to 2018 – only has 12 tweets on his Twitter account, all promoting his new film ‘Yesterday’, despite joining the social network in October 2012.
And while he believes social media is a “good tool” at times, he admits there is a “danger of misinterpretation”.
He added to Marie Claire magazine: “I know social media can be a good tool, but I prefer to share stuff about work.
“There’s also the danger of misinterpretation. Things can spiral out of control very quickly on platforms like that.”
Himesh made UK soap history in 2015 when his ‘EastEnders’ character Tamwar sent various tweets during some of the live elements of the soap’s 30th anniversary live week episodes.
He said at the time: “Tweeting in character is a first for me – but I think I know Tamwar well enough and I’m looking forward to giving the world his unique perspective on things as they unfold.”

Lorna Laidlaw can’t believe Coronation Street is only just getting a black family

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorna Laidlaw is amazed ‘Coronation Street’ is only just introducing its first black family.
The 56-year-old star has joined the cast on the cobbles as Bailey family matriarch pharmacy assistant Aggie alongside fellow newcomers Trevor Michael Georges (Edison), Nathan Graham (James) and Ryan Russell (Michael).
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she said: “It’s a question that we’ve all been asked every single time, and everybody’s still shocked that we’re having to answer it.
“I think it’s incredible that we’re still discussing this, we’re still looking at a whole black family making news. And it’s big news… It’s a massive thing. This show’s been going for 60 years and there’s never been a whole family.”
And Lorna – who left her role as Mrs. Tembe on ‘Doctors’ earlier this year after eight years on the drama – admitted joining ‘Corrie’ means her family finally understood what it is she does for a career.
She laughed: “We grew up watching ‘Coronation Street’. It was a massive thing. And it’s that amazing thing when you’ve been working in theatre for a long time – I know I did ‘Doctors’, but until you’re on telly your family don’t quite know what you do. Now they clearly know, all of them!”
The actress also admitted it was a challenge putting on a northern accent due to her upbringing in Birmingham, and spending so long playing Mrs. Trembe on the Brummie soap.
She added: “All through those first few scenes, I kept going,’Do not go to your default, do not go to your fault’. You’ve gotta go northern and it was so difficult.
“Your mouth is so trained to do an accent, and actually getting in your head with this new character, and make her really believable, it was really quite difficult!”

Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle is enjoying irrelevancy after years in the spotlight

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle is glad to be “irrelevant”.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who quit the show after six years to focus on fatherhood when his partner Emma McVey gave birth to their son Chester 17 months ago – admitted he is loving life out of the public eye, and he is enjoying the chance to be himself with his family.
Responding to an Twitter troll who claimed Gaz only had “video game and babies” to keep him busy, he fired back: “If only u new how nice it felt to be irrelevant spent 7/8 years being a little puppet to management and tv producers…
“Being normal and having family is actually amazing… oh and not to mention the stuff I invested in all paid off so I can enjoy it.. but yer thanks (sic)”
Shortly after welcoming Chester into the world early last year Gaz, 31, admitted it will “never sink in” that he’s a father.
He said: “It’s just mad that there’s a little human. Honestly, it still feels weird. I don’t understand how you create this. I was hysterical. I’m responsible.
“I still ring my mam if I’m in a panic. I rely on that person even now, so it’s mad that I’m now that for him. It will never sink in, I don’t think.”
And the former reality TV hunk admits before parenthood life felt “repetitive” because he’d just go out and get drunk with his pals.
On becoming a father, he said: “It’s not about you any more. I was excited to do something different.
“I thought, there’s got to be more to life than going out every weekend drinking, being hungover on Sundays and then going for some food with your mates in the week and planning a holiday. Life was so repetitive before Chester.”

Jack Fowler found it ‘strange’ when fans threw their bras at him

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ hunk Jack Fowler found it “strange” with fans threw their bras.
The 23-year-old star – who appeared on last year’s series of the ITV2 dating show – admitted he has stayed very popular with the ladies after his time in the villa, although sometimes their displays of affection leave him stunned.
He told the Daily Star Online: “One of the weirdest things for me coming out of the villa was at my PAs.
“There were girls chucking their bras at me, that was a bit strange… I just had to leave them on the floor, I can’t be taking them home.”
Jack also gets saucy comments on his social media snaps, and he revealed he takes it all in a “light-hearted” way.
He said: “For me, it’s all light-hearted. I like Instagram and I used it from such a young age, but some of my pictures now I’m topless and in short shorts.
“I read the comments, but I don’t let them go to my head.”
Meanwhile, Jack previously demanded there be more psychiatric support for people suffering from depression and mental health following the death of his friend and fellow ‘Love Island’ star Mike Thalassitis in March this year.
While he admits he had psychiatry tests “before and immediately after” his time on the show, he says more should be done about showing people how to cope with the “negative effects” of being “nationally known”.
He wrote: “Personal experience .. yeah I had psychiatry tests before and immediately after love island. But I feel like once your off the TV screen then the support network isn’t what it should be. You became nationally known and that’s amazing to a certain degree, but what you don’t see is the after shock of it all & how to cope with the negative effects. (sic)”
Following the deaths of Mike and another former contestant, Sophie Gradon, the show fell under scrutiny for its aftercare programme, prompting producers to bring in new plans for the current series.
ITV have revealed there will be more detailed conversations with potential Islanders regarding the impact of participation on the show, and bespoke training for all Islanders on social media and financial management, which extends support to all Islanders following their participation.

Katie Price forced to quit Celebs Go Dating due to another dating show

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price has had to drop out of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ because of other commitments.
The 41-year-old star and her 30-year old boyfriend Kris Boyson – who signed up as the first couple to undertake counselling on the programme – have already filmed scenes, but a contract for another dating show means they will all have to be scrapped.
A source told The Sun Online: “Everyone was really excited when Katie agreed to be part of the new series and she has already filmed some amazing bits with Kris Boyson.
“But it emerged that she would be breaching her contract on another show so she had to go.”
However, it’s thought that bosses are still confident ahead of the new series, despite the “disappointing” news.
The insider added: “”Katie agreed that her time was up and she knows the door is always open if she wants to give it another go.
“It’s obviously really disappointing but there are some other really good cast members this series so the show will still be a success.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the show has confirmed Katie’s departure, and revealed the former glamour model and her beau won’t e allowed to appear.
They said: “Lime Pictures contracted Katie and Kris to appear on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ on the understanding that they were able to take part.
“Unfortunately it has come to light that by appearing in our show Katie will in fact be in breach of her contract with another TV production company. Katie and Kris will not now be a part of this year’s ‘Celeb’s Go Dating’ series.”
Katie has been officially announced earlier this month despite being in a relationship, as the agency experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson looked to break new ground by providing counselling for the couple.
She said at the time: “We’ve come to Paul and Anna to help us out because there are just too many people involved in our relationship. Too many chefs around and too many stories going on about us.”

John Cena officially cast in Fast and Furious 9

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena has officially joined the cast of ‘Fast and Furious 9’.
The 42-year-old actor and professional wrestler was believed to be joining the lineup for the upcoming movie back in April when star of the series Vin Diesel teased his involvement, and on Friday (07.06.19), Universal officially confirmed he will be appearing in the film.
John’s character is currently still under wraps, but Deadline has reported he will be playing “a bada**”.
The WWE star confirmed the news himself in a Tweet which read: “For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family. (sic)”
‘Fast and Furious 9’ will start production later this month for a May 2020 release, and is being written by Dan Casey using a story by Justin Lin.
Vin Diesel is producing through his One Race Films banner, and Justin Lin will also produce through Perfect Storm Entertainment.
The inclusion of John Cena in the story comes as both Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham will be sitting this instalment out, as they’re both busy filming a spin-off movie about their own characters, entitled ‘Hobbs and Shaw’.
Alongside John and Vin, Jordana Brewster is on board to reprise her role as Mia Toretto, who was last seen in ‘Furious 7′, which served as the send off for her on-screen husband Brian O’Connor, played by the late Paul Walker.
And Michelle Rodriguez is also set to return as Letty Ortiz, after a female writer joined the production following Michelle’s complaints that she was originally unsure about coming back to the series due to being disappointed with how the series’ female characters were treated.
