Susanna Reid insists she’s still single

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid has insisted she’s still single after her ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Piers Morgan suggested she was dating again.
Earlier this year, Piers, 54, announced on ‘GMB’ that his 48-year-old co-host had split from Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish after almost six months of dating – and more recently inferred that she’d found someone new after she came in with a “perky and happy face”.
But Susanna has now revealed the reason she seemed in a “good mood” was because she’d had a good night sleep after turning in at 7.30pm, and had come in “feeling fresh and bouncy”.
Speaking on the breakfast show, she said: “I’m single. The irony of that was I’d gone to bed at 7.30pm the night before and had a really good night’s sleep. It was so ridiculous.
“But that’s Piers all over isn’t it? He infers that if you’re in a good mood there must be a reason for it.
“For me to be in a really good mood it means I’ve had a solid night’s sleep and come in feeling fresh and bouncy.”
The host went on to brand Piers a “complete wind up and a total pain”, but admitted the controversial presenter has helped her to develop a “thicker skin”.
She said: “Piers is a complete wind up and a total pain in the backside. He constantly teases me and says I protest too much when people joke that we’re an old married couple.
“When we first started working together, we took a while to get the measure of each other and I took some of his teasing too personally. Over the last four years I’ve developed a much thicker skin.
“At the same time I also trust Piers with lots of secrets and personal stuff and I know that’s not going to appear on air. It’s just banter.”

Lauren Goodger ‘out of her comfort zone’ on Celebs Go Dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger says ‘Celebs Go Dating’ has brought her out of her “comfort zone”.
The 32-year-old reality star hasn’t had much luck when it comes to her dating life over the years, but insists appearing on the Channel 4 show is “really good fun” because she is “really enjoying” pushing herself to do things she wouldn’t normally.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “It’s really good fun because I’ve never dated before.
“I’ve always been in a kind of long-term relationships and this is, like, new.
“It’s fresh, it’s funny, it’s quite light-hearted. I’ve had some funny dates but we’re still filming. It’s really good, I’m really enjoying it.”
When asked whether she’s hopeful she will find love, Lauren said: “I dunno, I am yeah, but I’m not looking. You know what it is, with this show it kind of brings you out of your comfort zone and you do things you wouldn’t normally.
“I wouldn’t usually go on a random blind date I’ve never done that in my life. ”
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star – who split from Joey Morrison last year – admits dating someone in person is a good way of avoiding online catfishing, and hopes viewers will see a “different side” to her on the show.
She said: “You don’t know what you’re looking at on Instagram you don’t know what’s real.
“So for me it is a good opportunity to be real on camera and for people to see it because you can’t edit video and hopefully it’ll show a different side to me.”

Charlie Lawson’s partner feared Tommy Cooper stage moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Lawson’s partner Debbie Stanley feared the worst when she heard an audience member shout out there was “another Tommy Cooper situation” while he suffered a stroke on stage.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star experienced a transient ischemic attack (TIA) on the opening night of his portrayal of the titular inspector in play ‘Rebus’ last year, while a “helpless” Debbie look on from the audience.
Speaking about the inappropriate comment – which is a reference to the late legendary comedian’s death aged 64, when he collapsed of a heart attack while filming variety show ‘Live from Her Majesty’s’ in 1984 – Debbie said: “Somebody shouted out, ‘We’ve got another Tommy Cooper situation.’
“So if I could’ve got to them I would’ve done …”
Debbie admits the situation was the “worst experience of my whole life” but is glad theatre staff looked after the ‘Corrie’ actor.
She said: “I knew something was wrong, because I’ve watched the show so many times. I just thought, ‘Oh no, he’s not right.’
“I knew he hadn’t forgotten his lines because he has never done that before.
“But I just looked at his face and then I heard him.
“It was the worst experience of my whole life. Somebody had to come and find me.
“I was helpless. But they did look after him.”
Charlie – who plays Jim McDonald on ‘Corrie’ – insists he is “one of the lucky ones” to still be alive, and admits the incident “affected [him] emotionally” for a few months afterwards.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘Loose Women’, he added: “I’m fine, I was one of the lucky ones. But when you have a TIA it changes your outlook on life.
“You look at mortality in the face and you embrace it. But I’m fine.
“I did need to just switch off. It affected me emotionally for a couple of months and you do need to sit back and you learn to appreciate more the people you treasure.”

Wes Nelson spills on Love Island secrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ star Wes Nelson claims the producers insist that the contestants are stripped off at all times during the day.
The hunky TV personality got to the final of the 2018 series of the ITV dating reality show with his girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson – whom he split from at the start of 2019 – and he has now lifted the lid on what happens behind-the-scenes on the programme and has spilled that the producers don’t like to see the contestants covered up in hoodies or anything else and instruct them to take their clothes off for the cameras.
In an interview on the Capital Breakfast show with Roman Kemp, Vick Hope and Sonny Jay, he said: “I used to try and go out in a hoodie and heavily clothed in the morning because sometimes it is a bit chilly but yeah, you’d have to take that off. Obviously, sometimes we’d like to be in the shade a bit of the day because it is roasting hot, so when you’re in the shade it is actually quite cold. So me and Josh used to run out all the time in little hoodies and they’d be like, ‘Wes take that off!’ ”
Wes also revealed that there is no let up for the contestants during their tenure and even when they are given a day off members of the production team are with them to monitor what they’re talking about what they’re doing.
He spilled: “You do get a day off. The first time that we had a day off was three weeks in and then I think we had four in total. But it’s not to the beach, we never got the beach! We went to a holding villa but they monitor everything, they make sure you’re not having any saucy chats. But it’s quite nice to not have any drama and have chat chats, it’s nice to just chill.”
The former ‘Dancing On Ice’ star also revealed that none of the islanders ever know what time it is during their time in the villa which is frustrating.
He said: “You don’t know the time of day in the villa or the holding villa and we all had different times.”
As well as having a chef on hand all day to cook up meals for the contestants, Wes’ final revelation is that the would-be daters don’t have to clean up after themselves as staff come in to pick up their litter and make sure the villa is in tip-top condition.
He explained: “There’s little runners that run around basically, all day every day, there are people that run around in the night. Sometimes you’ll hear them changing the mics when you’re asleep and they’ll be next to you and they’ll change the mic and you’ll just open and make really awkward eye contact with them like [whispers], ‘Hi you alright?’ ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, shh, shh, shh.’ ‘OK, OK, OK.’ And then you go back to sleep again, because obviously you leave your mics on the bedside table so they can change them so they’re ready and fresh for the morning. It’s odd, you wake up and there’s just some geezer stood over your bed, just stood there.”

Mark Hamill was ‘intimidated’ by Chucky role in new Child’s Play

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hamill was “intimidated” to voice Chucky in ‘Child’s Play’.
The 67-year-old actor will bring to life the murderous doll in the upcoming reboot of the horror franchise and confessed that he hasn’t been so nervous to portray a character since his voice role as Batman’s archenemy the Joker in the 1992 series ‘Batman: The Animated Series’.
Speaking at a press conference for the film, he said: “When I agreed to it, and it sunk in that they wanted me to do this, I felt intimidation like I hadn’t felt since I did the Joker.”
Hamill went on to admit that when he originally auditioned for the role of the Joker, he thought there was “no way” he’d be cast in the movie as he was so well known for his ‘Star Wars’ alter ego Luke Skywalker.
He said: “I thought, when I auditioned for the Joker, there’s no way they’re going to cast this icon of virtue, Luke Skywalker, as the Joker. Forget about it. So I had no performance anxiety because I knew they couldn’t hire me.
“It’s only when they hired me that I really thought, ‘Oh no, I can’t do this because so many people have expectations of what he’s supposed to sound like.’
“I didn’t feel that kind of intimidation until it sunk in that I was doing this. I love Brad. It’s a great responsibility, so I’m anxious to see how people react because it’s not the Chucky that we all know from before.”
The ‘Knightfall’ star also explained that he was sold on the idea to reboot ‘Child’s Play’ when he got a letter from director Lars Klevberg which outlined the differences in the upcoming film from the 1988 original, in which Chucky was voiced by Brad Dourif.
Hamill said: “I got a letter from Lars. He already laid out his vision for the film, before I read it. And then they sent me this script and I thought the crucial element that was different from the original, which I love – I’m a huge fan of Brad’s interpretation – Chucky has a different origin. ”
The new ‘Child’s Play’ film will use the same plot as the original 1988 film and will star Aubrey Plaza, 34, as Karen Barclay a mother who unwittingly gives her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll that contains the soul of a serial killer.
In the original film, Andy’s mother gives him a talking Buddy doll, however, in the remake Buddy is an “Artificial Intelligence human companion” manufactured by the Kaslan Corp, the world’s leading developer of interactive tech products for home and lifestyle.
‘Child’s Play’ is set to be released in the US on June 21.

Mindy Kaling ‘spoken to Marvel’ about Ms Marvel film

OHMYGOSSIP — Mindy Kaling has “spoken to Marvel” about developing a Ms. Marvel film.
The 39-year-old actress has been in contact with the studio about the possibility of giving Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan – a 16-year-old Pakistani-American superhero from New Jersey – her own film and explained that Marvel is “trying to figure out” what would work best for the character, who is the first Muslim hero to headline her own comic book.
Speaking to MTV News, she said: “I think the people I’ve spoken to Marvel about it are so excited about the character and I think that they’re trying to figure out what to do with it.
“I told them I would help in any way because I truly love her. They really seemed interested, and I think they will probably do something.”
Ms Marvel was created by G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona, Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker in 2014 and Kamala Khan is the fourth edition of the character, who was originally conceived as a female sidekick for Captain Marvel Carol Danvers.
Following the massive success of ‘Captain Marvel’ Mindy feels that although a place on Disney’s forthcoming streaming service Disney+ could work, the “excitement” about the character could suggest a film would work better.
She said: “Now that there’s like this streaming service with them, it might be something like that, but I think they understand how much there is the excitement.”
Kamala Khan as Ms Marvel first appeared in Captain Marvel #17 in November 2013 and was given her own series and her first collected volume of this series, ‘Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal’ , won the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story.

Coronation Street hire top barrister for David and Nick trial

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ have hired a top barrister to advise scriptwriters on a court case involving characters David Platt and Nick Tilsley.
The ITV soap have enlisted the help of Craig Weston, a senior associate barrister in Irwin Mitchell’s Criminal and Regulatory Investigations Group in London, to help the soap’s scribes ensure the trial is accurate from a legal point of view.
Craig said: “It has been fascinating to be involved and really interesting to see how TV scriptwriters work and how storylines develop, not least keeping draft scripts a secret.
“There were lots of different aspects to take into account including future stories and although I didn’t know much about the characters on ‘Coronation Street’ before, I certainly do now.”
Craig has advised script writers on the conduct of legal representatives, the trial process, and the likely length of prison sentence appropriate for both based on the crimes.
It comes after Nick (Ben Price) confessed to stealing his gran Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) £80,000, and David (Jack P. Shepherd) helped him spend it on barbers Trim Up North.
This move comes after the soap’s bosses admitted they made an error during a trial scene involving David and Nick’s niece Bethany Platt – played by Lucy Fallon – in October 2017.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted Bethany being sketched as the character testified during her grooming trial, despite being automatically entitled to anonymity.
An ITV spokesperson later said: “In last night’s episode we showed a court artist at work sketching Bethany during her trial.
“We accept this wasn’t a true representation of court procedure and we apologise for including it.
“The artist was solely used to illustrate the passing of time and we devoted multiple scenes to the fact that Bethany’s anonymity is a priority for the court.
“We repeatedly focused on details regarding screens and video links, and support for victims throughout the court process, which we hope would encourage anyone watching to recognise the fact they would be in a safe place when giving evidence.”

Love Island’s Anton’s attempts to woo Anna appear to backfire

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Anton Danyluk will attempt to woo single Anna Vakili in tonight’s (12.06.19) episode, only for his advances to backfire.
The 24-year-old gym owner sets his sights on the 28-year-old pharmacist – who has been left single after Sherif Lanre departed the ITV2 dating show this week for breaking villa rules – after giving up on pursuing Molly-Mae Hague, who is with Tommy Fury.
Anton tells Anna: “Obviously Molly has come in and she is very much my type. You know that.
“I don’t want you to feel like you’re vulnerable in here. As long as I’m in here, I’ve got your back.
“As much as Molly is my type, she’s beautiful from the outside-in, you’re beautiful on the inside and out.
“You’re not necessarily my absolute type on paper but Molly, who is someone who is my type, I still wouldn’t want to be with someone like that.
“I’m not saying that we’ll ever turn into something romantic but I just want to pick up where we left off before the recoupling.”
Speaking in the Beach Hut, Anna later says: “I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or not.
“If Anton liked me, he wouldn’t have been hitting on Molly. So, he doesn’t like me. I don’t know what he was trying to say. It was confusing me.”
Later in the day, Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths ask a genuinely perplexed Anton why he mentioned Molly-Mae while trying to pursue Anna.
Amber asks: “Why did you go over and say, ‘Molly-Mae is my type, that is what I want appearance wise but personality-wise you [Anna]?’ ”
Michael says “It’s a bad way to put it across to her.”
Anton replies: “I didn’t mean it like that. I thought the chat went well.”
Reflecting on the conversation later in the Beach Hut, he says: “I’m starting to realise this is why I can’t get a girl in this villa.”
‘Love Island’ continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Ryan Hawley has quit Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Hawley has quit ‘Emmerdale’.
The 33-year-old actor has been playing Robert Sugden on the ITV soap for five years, but he is now set to bow out of the programme, as he is keen to “try other projects”.
Ryan’s character has been at the centre of some of the soaps most dramatic storylines, including having gone through affairs, manslaughter, a prison sentence, and an inner battle with coming to terms with his sexuality.
The move is likely to leave fans devastated, as many viewers have been hugely supportive of Robert’s relationship with Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller), whom they have affectionate dubbed RobRon.
An ITV source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre ITV column: “Emmerdale fans have loved every minute of RobRon’s story, and what Ryan has brought to playing Robert. But he has decided to take a break from the show for the foreseeable future and try other projects.
“He will leave later this year, but fans can expect to see him on screen right up until the end of the year. He will be sorely missed.”
Ryan is the fourth actor to have played Robert, taking up the role in 2014 and following in the footsteps of Richard Smith, Christopher Smith and Karl Davies.
In one of his most explosive storylines, he accidentally killed sister-in-law Katie after she took a photo of him and Aaron kissing whilst he was engaged to Chrissie White.
During his time in the role, Ryan has won various awards, including a Tric Award for Soap Actor last year and the gong for Best Soap Actor at the TV Choice Awards the year before.
He’s also bagged Best Partnership with Danny Miller at the Inside Soap Awards back in 2016, and Best Newcomer at the same awards ceremony in 2015.
Ryan is set to leave the show later this year.

Rick and Morty creator wants to make a film of the cartoon

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Roiland wants to make a ‘Rick and Morty’ film.
The 39-year-old animator – who co-created and produced the Adult Swim cartoon with ‘Community’ creator Dan Harmon as well as voicing the show’s titular characters- teased that he would “love” to make a feature-length version of the hit cartoon.
During a Reddit AMA session, one fan asked: “Will we get a feature length Rick and Morty film ever? A rated R film that’s totally bananas? (sic)”
Roiland replied: “I would love to do that, yeah. Hmm. Hmm.”
The adult cartoon follows the misadventures of cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his anxious grandson Morty Smith who often embark on crazy interdimensional adventures and although Roiland wouldn’t give away any details about a potential movie, he did answer some other burning fan questions.
One viewer referenced the character Snowball, a dog that becomes sentient after wearing an IQ-enhancing helmet, from the first season episode ‘Lawnmower Dog’ asking if he might return, she said: “I would love to see Snowball again! (sic)”
Roiland replied: “It’s always just a matter of doing it for the right reason. (sic)”
The fourth series of the hit show will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK after Cartoon Network renewed the show for another 70 episodes and Roiland previously explained that being “locked in” to a network has given the duo far more freedom in the writer’s room.
He explained: “We’re super excited that, for the first time ever, we’re locked in, we know what the future is, we have job security.
“Harmon is in great spirits, we have a great writer’s room. We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster.”

Richard Curtis says Love Island is ‘greatest programme of all time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Curtis thinks ‘Love Island’ is the “greatest television programme of all time”.
The 62-year-old screenwriter – who has penned hit romantic comedy films such as ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ and ‘Love Actually’ – spends his “life” trying to get actors to portray the emotion he sees on the ITV2 reality dating show, and thinks it’s “amazing” to see the programme’s “complex algorithm at work”.
Speaking on Jessie Ware’s ‘Table Manners’ podcast, he said: “I hope Lucie [Donlan] lasts all nine weeks. It’s such a complex algorithm.
“As someone who has written about romance and love, what is so amazing, is it actually see it happening.
“Certainly what has happened in the last few days, Joe [Garratt] has definitely fallen in love with Lucie.
“Tommy [Fury] comes in and she has to go with him, and then the dark side of Joe appears and you’re actually watching real emotions.
“I spend all my life trying to get actors to act these things as convincingly as they can.
“Suddenly, it’s happening right in front of you and you can watch it happening. I do find it intriguing … it is the greatest television program of all time.”
The ‘Notting Hill’ scribe admits that even during the presence of Hollywood stars such as Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan at the ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ premiere, he was more interested in catching the attention of former Islander Montana Brown.
He said: “I went to the premiere of ‘Mamma Mia’, what I worked on.
“It was psychologically interesting because Meryl Streep was there, Pierce Brosnan was there, Lily James was there.
“But Montana was there. That was all I cared about. I thought, ‘Bloody hell, that’s Montana. Get out of the way Meryl, Get out of the way Colin [Firth].’ ”

Tommy Fury is Love Island newcomer Maura Higgins’ ‘soulmate’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ newcomer Maura Higgins has “found her soulmate” in Tommy Fury.
The 28-year-old model entered the infamous villa on Wednesday’s (12.06.19) episode of the ITV2 reality show, and claims she’s already found the love of her life in the form of 20-year-old boxer Tommy, the younger brother of Tyson Fury.
She said: “Found my soulmate. I swear to god, the things I would do to that man. I’m not even joking. Oh Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. I can imagine screaming his name.”
To which Elma Pazar – who also joined the villa on the same day – told her: “I think that says it all really. That’s pretty strong, considering we’ve been here for like 20 minutes.”
And Maura added: “Oh my god so f***ing fit I can’t cope.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Tommy seemed to share affection for Maura, as he said he could “look into [her] eyes all day”.
But the new romance is set to cause tensions, as Tommy has already been involved in several love triangles.
The boxer was a late addition to the villa, and he initially caused drama when he broke up lovebirds Lucie Donlan and Jack Garratt in order to pursue a romance with the surfer.
But just days later, he dropped Lucie when Molly-Mae Hague entered the villa and went on a date with Tommy, who became enamoured with her.
Social media influencer Molly-Mae is interested in Tommy, and looked distraught as she saw him go on a date with Maura in Wednesday’s episode, but she’s also had her eye on both Anton Danyluk and newcomer Danny Williams, so might not be heartbroken for long if romance blossoms between Tommy and Maura.
‘Love Island’ continues Thursday (13.06.19) night at 9pm on ITV2.

Himesh Patel: EastEnders departure was ‘terrifying’

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel admits it was “terrifying” leaving ‘EastEnders’, but there was “only so far” he could take his character.
The 28-year-old actor portrayed Tamwar Masood from 2007 to 2016, and while he enjoyed growing his alter-ego in his nine years on Albert Square, the ‘Yesterday’ actor believes it was “the right moment” to depart Walford.
He said: “The amount of time I planned to stay kept changing because I was aware the transition could be hard.
“I was still enjoying my time there and growing as an actor. But then it felt like the right moment to take a leap of faith.
“It was a tough decision to walk away from what was my family, and a character who will always have such an important part of my life, but it had to be done.
“There’s only so far you can take yourself as an actor and a character in that show.
“I knew it was time to leave, and it was terrifying.”
Himesh credits his family with encouraging him to get into acting after he impressed them by doing “silly voices and impressions” as a youngster, but he is pleased they are “completely away from” the showbiz spotlight.
He added to Marie Claire magazine: “My family are completely away from it all, which is something I really cherish and protect.
“I was always doing silly voices and impressions, and my mum and dad saw that and encouraged me to channel it.
“I joined a youth theatre in Cambridge, and that’s how I got the ‘EastEnders’ audition.”

Emily Atack: Sex scenes are great

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack would be “livid” if a guy didn’t get sexually aroused while filming an intimate scene with her.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ actress enjoys acting out sex scenes because she is able to “lie in bed all day with a nice boy”, but admitted she isn’t happy if her male co-stars fail to get turned on.
When asked what it was like shooting intimate scenes in the Channel 4 comedy – in which she played Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe, who had an awkward bedroom moment with Will McKenzie (Simon Bird) – she said: “Well do you know what they say, the men, when you’re about to do a sex scene, they go, ‘Look, I’m sorry if it happens and I’m sorry if it doesn’t.’
“Because they also don’t want you to be offended if it doesn’t happen, because I would be f**king livid.
“I don’t mind doing scenes like that at all, you just get to lie in bed all day with a nice boy, it’s great.”
Emily also admitted she fakes climaxing “all the time” because she doesn’t want guys to “feel bad”.
Speaking on ‘Shopping with Keith Lemon’, she added: “Do you know, I spend 90 per cent of my sex life faking it.
“I fake it all the time because, number one, I don’t want them to feel bad.
“I can count on one hand only how many times a man has …”
Emily’s comments come one month after she joked she wants to “get off” with Suranne Jones after seeing her portray lesbian landowner Anne Lister in BBC period drama ‘Gentleman Jack’.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star tweeted: “Cannot wait to want to get off with Suranne Jones after watching first ep of #GentlemanJack. (sic)”

Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix off on another Road Trip

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix are heading off on an American road trip.
The trio went on a jaunt through Europe last year for their series ‘Gordon, Gino And Fred: Road Trip’ and now it’s been confirmed they have signed up for a second series, which will see them travel through America for a month in September.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Gordon, Gino and Fred had a whale of a time filming the first series so were delighted when ITV said it wanted another. This time they are off to America and it’s a week longer so there will be more mischief. All three are brimming with ideas and practical jokes.”
The confirmation comes after Fred recently admitted they were hoping to make a new series having had such a great time shooting the first.
He said: “We’re looking at dates at the moment so if we can get it to happen we will. It was three weeks of mayhem, complete mayhem. Sleeping with [Gordon and Gino] in a camper van.”
But the ‘First Dates’ star admitted being on the road with his pals had left him exhausted and he as relieved to get back home after their jaunt.
When asked who he would rather marry or sleep with out of his two co-stars, he laughed: “What a question, I’m not sure I would marry any of them. This is a tough question.
“Maybe I marry Gordon for the money and Gino for the fun. Gino is very funny, he wants to do what he wants to do.
“It was quite extraordinary, to be three weeks on the road with them, it was exhausting, when we finished I went back to work to rest.”

Spice Girls movie in the works with ‘whole band involved’

OHMYGOSSIP — A new Spice Girls movie is in the works – and the whole band are said to be involved.
The girl group – made up of Geri Horner, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C – are working with Paramount on an idea for an animated film, and the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers are “very involved” in the process.
Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria told The Hollywood Reporter: “[Spice Girls] had an idea that we’ve been developing. They are very involved.”
The animated motion picture is expected to feature new songs as well as classic Spice Girls hits, and their manager Simon Fuller is to produce the project.
Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith are penning the screenplay for the movie, which is said to be in early development with other 2020 releases.
However, this comes just six months after reports a Spice Girls animated superhero movie was in doubt because the band were struggling to find film distributors for the project.
A source said at the time: “The girls all felt the project would be snapped up in a big-money deal, but to date nobody has optioned it and they’re finding it difficult to get it off the ground.
“They have a production deal to make the animation but nobody has bought the rights to broadcast it yet, which came as a great surprise to the girls.
“Geri and Mel B, especially, have been really keen to see themselves made into cartoon characters and launch their legacy to a whole new youth audience. They were hoping that Marvel or Disney would pick up their movie but it just hasn’t taken off.”
It was previously revealed that the heart of the project would be the group’s long-standing message of ‘girl power’, and each of the quintet’s animated alter-egos would possess a special power which reflects their personality.
