Roxanne Pallett ‘hid breakdown’

OHMYGOSSIP — Roxanne Pallett was “hiding a huge breakdown” in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star sparked outrage when she falsely accused her housemate Ryan Thomas of punching her on the show and she’s now admitted she shouldn’t have entered the famous abode because she wasn’t in the right place mentally to cope with the stress of the situation.
She told Closer magazine: “Everyone has struggles and I’m not using mine to justify my behaviour but looking back, I should have got help 20 years ago.
“Two weeks before ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, I’d been in a car crash and the minute it happened I was on edge and defensive.
“I was hiding a huge breakdown. My mind had gone to mush, I was getting flashbacks of the house fire (from when she was 16) and I wasn’t thinking straight.
“I kept changing my mind and being erratic.
“I was jumping to conclusions that weren’t accurate yet still I laughed and put on a pretence. These invisible wounds were destroying me.”
The 37-year-old actress – who has apologised to Ryan – was later diagnosed with PTSD and sought therapy and now views the scandal as a “blessing in disguise” as it forced her to confront her problems.
She said: “Last year was a blessing in disguise because the universe was trying to tell me I was on the wrong path.
“Now I’m much calmer, I’m less argumentative and defensive and I’ll have EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) and CBT therapy for as long as I need.”
While Roxanne admitted her stint on ‘CBB’ “broke” her, she refuses to be defined by it and is happy with the path she’s now found herself on.
She said: “Last year doesn’t define my life. It was two weeks out of 36 years, but ‘CBB’ was the biggest wake-up call of my life – and the most valuable lesson.
“It broke me, but then it made me.
“For now, my priorities have changed. Life isn’t about a career or success, it’s about being healthy and happy.
“I’ve already been working with mental health groups, sharing my story and helping others.
“I want to use my platform and be an advocate for mental health, and piece myself together. It might take the rest of my life, but that’s OK.”

Darcey Bussell will still watch Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Darcey Bussell will be tuning in with the rest of the UK to watch ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ now she has quit her role as a judge on the BBC One ballroom show.
The 50-year-old retired ballerina shocked bosses and fans in April when she announced she was departing the series after seven years but when the programme starts again later this year she won’t be turning her back on it and will instead tune in to see how the class of 2019 copes with the cha-cha-cha and all the other dances.
Revealing her future Saturday night plans, she said: “I coach dancers at the Royal Ballet so I’ll be watching their shows but otherwise I’ll probably be with my family watching ‘Strictly’!”
Adding that she plans to drop in on her former friends on the show, she continued: “I’ll feel very odd. It’s such a wonderful show and such a great team and I will miss all of them dreadfully, though I’ll be visiting without fail. I’ve got a lot of friends.”
Darcey knows that when the show starts again she will miss not being part of it and accepts it will feel strange to see someone else in her chair next to the other judges; Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas.
But the 50-year-old TV star has no regrets about her decision and is grateful to have had so many wonderful years on the panel.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “Of course I’ll miss it. You don’t take a decision like that lightly but it was right for me to leave. I’ve been very lucky to do seven good years and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it but I have no regrets.”
Craig recently spilled that he has been told the new ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is “someone that can actually dance” – but bosses won’t share the person’s identity with him as he can’t be trusted to keep a secret.
In an interview on ITV daytime show ‘This Morning’, he said: “They did say it’s someone that can actually dance, it’s got to be someone opinionated … But they won’t tell me, apparently I can’t be trusted!”

Chris O’Dowd and Melissa McCarthy sign on for The Starling

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris O’Dowd and Melissa McCarthy are to appear in ‘The Starling’.
The 39-year-old actor is set to reunite with his ‘St. Vincent’ co-star Melissa, 48, in the upcoming comedy-drama, which is being directed by Ted Melfi.
The project previously had Keanu Reeves and Isla Fisher on board to star with Dome Karukoski directing, however, has since changed hands.
The script was penned by Matt Harris and follows a couple who lose a child, leading McCarthy’s character to retreat to a recovery centre leaving her partner at home alone.
O’Dowd’s alter ego fills his time by attempting to build a beautiful garden in their home, however, he is interrupted by an aggressive starling.
The man seeks advice on how to get rid of the problematic bird from a former psychologist-turned-vet who ends up helping the husband deal with his grief as well as the feathered pest.
According to Deadline, Melfi wants to change up the script with the wife staying at home and building the garden while O’Dowd’s character goes to the recovery centre.
The movie will be fully financed by Limelight and produced by Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker, as well as Melfi and his wife, actress Kimberly Quinn.
Alex Dong will serve as an executive producer on the project and cameras should be rolling as soon as this summer.
O’Dowd is soon set to star in comedy film ‘Adventures of Super Frank’ which will follow an Irish man as he embarks on a road trip in search of his girlfriend while Melissa will be seen alongside Elisabeth Moss and Tiffany Haddish in ‘The Kitchen’ which follows the story of the wives of Irish mobsters who end up taking over the criminal enterprise after their husbands are arrested and jailed.

Netflix aquires The Division with Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal

OHMYGOSSIP — Netflix has acquired ‘The Division’ starring Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The streaming service has bought distribution to Ubisoft’s adaptation of Tom Clancy’s 2016 video game with the ‘Dark Phoenix’ star and ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor attached to star and produce in the film.
The news of Netflix’s acquisition was announced Monday (10.06.19) at E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center during Ubisoft’s panel.
David Leitch is on board to direct the film – which is based on the online-only, role-playing video game which currently has more than 20 million players and recently announced a sequel – while Rafe Judkins will adapt the screenplay.
The game is set in a near future New York City in the aftermath of a viral pandemic virus spread via paper money on Black Friday – players are Special Agents of the Strategic Homeland Division tasked with helping rebuild its operations in Manhattan and investigate the nature of the outbreak, and combat criminal activity in its wake.

Ubisoft Film, 87North Productions, Nine Stories, Freckle Films and Television are also producing.
Chastain, 42, is currently starring in the latest film in the ‘X-Men’ franchise, ‘Dark Phoenix’, which follows Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey as she transforms into one of the most powerful mutants in the series and is quickly manipulated by Jessica’s Vuk, the leader of a shape-shifting alien race known as the D’Bari.

Jimmy McKenna asks Hollyoaks bosses to tempt Nancy Sinatra into cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy McKenna has asked ‘Hollyoaks’ bosses to try to tempt Nancy Sinatra into a guest role.
The 65-year-old actor has enjoyed blasting out some Frank Sinatra classics as his character Jack Osborne – who he has played since 1996 – and he recently suggested to the Channel 4 soap’s producers that they should try to recruit the late singing legend’s 79-year-old daughter for a cameo.
Asked about his dream plot for Jack, he said: “I want him to become Frank Sinatra. I adore Sinatra – I’m always on set singing his songs, and I think that’s seeping through into the character.
“I’ve done a few Sinatra numbers as Jack, and it gives me a buzz.
“I was joking with all the bosses last week that they should try to get Nancy Sinatra on the show – it’s a long shot, but with ‘Hollyoaks’, you never know.”
Jimmy admits there is always plenty of “craziness” in Soapland, and he believes legendary late playwright William Shakespeare – widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the history of the English language – would be penning soaps if he was still around nowadays.
Speaking about Jack’s life in the Hollyoaks village, he added to Inside Soap magazine: “He’s been a bit of a philanderer, hasn’t he?
“Four wives, and loads of girlfriends. I was laughing with Gillian Taylforth about that at the British Soap Awards the other day, as she came into the show a few years ago [as Sandy Roscoe] and turned out to be the mother of Jack’s son, Darren.
“It’s just the craziness of Soapland, isn’t it? It’s similar to Shakespeare – if he was alive today, he’d be writing soaps.”

Bhavna Limbachia wants to follow in Charlize Theron’s acting footsteps

OHMYGOSSIP — Bhavna Limbachia wants to have a “versatile career” like Charlize Theron.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress – whose character Rana Habeeb was killed off earlier this year following the Underworld factory collapse – has set her sights on following in the footsteps of the ‘Mad Max’ actress by starring in “comedy, drama and action” roles.
She said: “I would like to have a versatile career like Charlize Theron. I’d love to do a bit of comedy, a bit of drama, some action, I’d love to do a bit of everything and push myself.”
While the 35-year-old Preston-born star could be about to take Hollywood by storm, she admits her roots are certainly in the north of England, where she feels “way more relaxed and happier” than when she visits London.
She said: “I’m so proud of being northern. I think some of the best writers in drama have come from the North: Jimmy McGovern, Sally Wainwright.
“Northern gritty drama is British drama is at its best. Don’t get me wrong, I love dipping in and out of London for work, but as soon as I get off that train and onto northern soil I just feel way more relaxed and happier.”
Before turning to acting, the ‘Citizen Khan’ star was a costume designer and had to hold an umbrella for ‘Corrie’ star Connor McIntyre – who played evil serial killer Pat Phelan until the character’s death last year – but after one particularly freezing cold moment in the early hours, she decided it was not the career for her.
Speaking to A Magazine, she added: “The last costume job I did was ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ with Connor McIntyre for BBC Three.
“It was minus three degrees. I was holding Connor’s umbrella thinking, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I can’t regret something I didn’t do – it just doesn’t make sense.’ ”

Gorka Marquez Googles Strictly stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez has to Google the show’s contestants because he doesn’t know who “most of them” are.
The 28-year-old pro dancer admits it is “fortunate” that he and his fellow professionals don’t discover which celebrities make up the line-up until they are announced, and admits he has to take to the internet to find out who the majority are anyway.
When asked if the likes of Alan Carr, Chris Evans, and Huw Edwards will be taking part in the next series, Gorka said: “Unfortunately we don’t know [if they are taking part]. Maybe it’s fortunate, because until the last minute we don’t want to know.
“And, personally, because I’m not English I don’t know most of them, so I just need to Google to want to know the names.”
But Slovenian dancer Aljaz Skorjanec joked he and fellow pro, Italian Giovanni Pernice, “do know” because the “are English”.
He quipped: “Since Gorka and I are English we do know.”
What’s more, Aljaz – who is married to fellow ‘Strictly’ pro Janette Manrara – admits he is feeling “broody”.
He said: “I’ve always felt broody for the last 10 years, since I met Janette actually. I’ve always wanted kids but it’s just never [happened].
“I can’t wait for kids, but we’ll see when.”
He joked: “It’s 50 per cent is down to me.”
The trio are to appear in a dance show together called ‘Here Come The Boys’, and Gorka admits travelling around the country is the “hardest part of the job”, particularly as his girlfriend, Gemma Atkinson, is currently pregnant.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘This Morning’, he added: “Travelling is the hardest part of the job. That’s the hardest part for, especially now Gemma is pregnant. It’s quite hard.”

A new version of Love Island The Game has launched

OHMYGOSSIP — A new version of ‘Love Island The Game’ has launched alongside this year’s series.
As the latest series of the reality dating show heats up on ITV2, hosted by Caroline Flack, the hugely popular Fusebox game – which allows players to become a virtual islander in a fictional version of the show – has been updated with new stories, content and features to keep players entertained.
‘Love Island The Game’ has a new wardrobe feature with 70 looks to customise personalised avatar characters, more story options and an increased choice of virtual contestants for ‘coupling up’.
Broadcasters in 12 other territories are planning to launch the game alongside their versions of the programme.
Nathalie Wood, of developer Fusebox Games, said in a statement: “‘Love Island The Game’ allows players to become a virtual islander in a fictional game of the ‘Love Island’ show.
“The game gives players similar choices to those faced by Islanders on the show. The choices made result in different outcomes for the player.
“The game features close to a million words and dozens of meaningful choices per episode. You choose who you want to ‘couple up’ with and build relationships with, in a fictional villa among a diverse and exciting cast of characters.”
Nathalie explained the app has also added new female writers to the team as the game’s biggest demographic is women in their 30s.
She said: “The game has attracted a wide range of age groups who play along and we have seen an interesting spike among women aged 30 plus.
“We put this down to having additional female writers on the team, who have helped shape realistic storylines, game play and language.”

Quentin Tarantino says Thor: Ragnarok is his favourite Marvel film

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino thinks ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is the best Marvel film.
The 56-year-old director hasn’t totally kept up to date with superhero films in the last few years but he has been catching up with movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he “loved” Taika Waititi’s 2017 blockbuster, the third instalment in the ‘Thor’ franchise.
Speaking to Empire magazine, he said: “I haven’t been keeping up to date with them for, I guess, the last four years, I think the only comic book movies I saw last year at theatres were ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Black Panther’.
“But about a couple of weeks ago I started catching up with some of the Marvel movies so I could go see ‘Endgame’. I just finished ‘Captain America: Civil War’, so next up is ‘Doctor Strange’.”
“Actually, the last one I saw was ‘[Thor] Ragnarok’. I loved it, it was my favourite one of the series since ‘Avengers’ – drastically my favourite.”
The ‘Kill Bill’ filmmaker has had a busy year with the release of his ninth film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ which is set 1969 Los Angeles and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as fading television star Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt as his long-time stunt double and Margot Robbie as movie star Sharon Tate.
Tarantino considers his latest project to be a “love letter” to the last moments of Hollywood’s golden age and he considers the story to be a “memory piece” about Los Angeles, the city where he grew up and the city that fuelled his passion for cinema.
He previously said: “[The film is] probably my most personal. I think of it like my memory piece.
“Alfonso [Cuarón] had ‘Roma’ and Mexico City, 1970. I had LA and 1969. This is me. This is the year that formed me. I was six years old then. This is my world. And this is my love letter to LA.”

Chloe Sevigny believes The Dead Don’t Die mirrors reality

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny thinks her new film ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ mirrors real life.
The 44-year-old actress stars alongside Adam Driver, Bill Murray and Selena Gomez in the upcoming zombie comedy film, directed-and- written by Jim Jarmusch which follows a group of small town’s cops as they combat a sudden zombie invasion.
The ‘American Horror Story’ star believes the director wanted the movie to encourage viewers to “think more about empathy” and she feels “we’re living in the zombie apocalypse now” as the rise in social media means individuals aren’t “connecting on like a real level to one another”.
Speaking on Boston radio station WBUR, she said: “Jim wants us to think more about like empathy, what we can do to help others. I mean, to me, I always think like we’re living in the zombie apocalypse now with people in their phones, and people just are like not connecting on like a real level to one another — and it’s terrifying.”
Chloe worked with Jim on 2002’s ‘Ten Minutes Older’, a project consisting of two compilation feature films titled ‘The Trumpet’ and ‘The Cello’, and admitted that when he approached her asking whether she wanted to make a ” ridiculous zombie picture” she was dubious about the idea as she’d “never had an affinity for zombies”.
She said: “He said, ‘I want to make this ridiculous zombie picture.’ And I was like, ‘Why zombies?’ Like I had never had an affinity for zombies. I love vampire pictures. It’s one of my favourites, and I was kind of sad that I wasn’t asked to be in ‘Only Lovers Left Alive.’ But that’s OK. I’ll forgive him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Curtis Pritchard will ask Amy Hart to be his “half-girlfriend” in tonight’s (11.06.19) ‘Love Island’.
The 23-year-old dancer – who is the brother of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star AJ Pritchard – wants to take his and Amy’s coupling to the next level, and pops the question when the pair are chosen to spend the night together in the Hideaway by the other Islanders.
Prior to heading to the secret room, Amy says to the girls in the Beach Hut: “It’s day nine and the sexy PJs are out to go to the Hideaway with Curtis. I’m just really excited. I didn’t think it would happen this early.”
After arriving at the room, Curtis and his love-interest get into the hot tub together and talk about exclusivity within their blossoming relationship.
Curtis says: “We’re very close and very good together at the moment and I definitely don’t want to see anyone else.
“I know that no-one is going to walk through the door and turn my head at all. I’m not asking you to be in a relationship but I just want to lock it off.”
Amy replies: “So, we’re not going to get to know anyone else? I think it’s too soon to do the whole boyfriend and girlfriend thing but we’re 100 per cent exclusive.”
Curtis asks: “Will you be my half-girlfriend?”
Amy happily adds: “I will be your half-girlfriend. But we will not call it half-girlfriend.
“We’ll refer to each other as other-halves until one day we’ll potentially use the ‘B’ and ‘G’ words.”
Curtis says: “Just so you know, I am planning on doing that.”
After the loved-up exchange, the pair share a steamy smooch and return to the villa the next day to fill the other Islanders in on their new relationship status.
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Margot Robbie wore Sharon Tate’s earrings for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie wore a pair of Sharon Tate’s earrings when filming ‘Once Upon a Time In Hollywood’.
Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming ninth film is set in Los Angeles in 1969 and follows struggling actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) who seek advice from their neighbours Hollywood star Sharon and her director husband Roman Polanski (Rafał Zawierucha) on how to continue working in a changing movie business.
The 28-year-old actress portrays the late movie star in the film and revealed that in order to “ground the character” she wore jewellery belonging to the star which was lent to her by Sharon’s younger sister Debra and insisted it was “quite moving” to pay tribute to Sharon by “having a piece of her” with her.
In an interview with Empire magazine, she said: “I guess it sounds like I’m being a bit spiritual or whatever, but it really did help me ground the character in something real.
“I wanted to honour her memory and bring the best parts of Sharon forward. And I found it really quite moving to have a piece of her with me.”
Sharon was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her and Roman’s son when she was murdered by members of the notorious Manson Family cult, led by Charles Manson, in August 1969. Four other people were also killed in the horrific attacks.
Margot thinks Sharon’s involvement in the film “embodies the best parts of the ’60s” and she considers Tarantino’s story to be a “celebration of her life”.
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ actress said: “Sharon embodies the best parts of the ’60s. This is a celebration of her life. And you get a lot of hang time with her in this film.”

“I have worked since I was seven and I’ve always had a strong work ethic. I think I inherited it from my parents growing up in Northern Ireland.”
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist feels “very fortunate” to work with a variety of people of different ages and opinions.
She said: “Every day I see different things and meet a huge variety of people. I feel like I learn something new every day. I am very fortunate.

She said: “What’s my secret? I love to keep busy. I enjoy pretty good health, too, and that is everything as you get older.
“Yes, of course, I’d rather be 50. Who wouldn’t? But I don’t dwell on it and I don’t feel or act the age I am. I’m lucky that I’ve always had lots of natural energy.”
