The Chase’s Paul Sinha has Parkinson’s disease

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Chase’ star Paul Sinha has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The 49-year-old quiz expert was told by doctors he has the degenerative condition – which affects the central nervous system and diminishes motor skills – on May 30 and he admits it was a “devastating” moment to given the news.
In a blog post, he shared: “On the evening of Thursday May 30th, an experienced consultant neurologist calmly informed me that I had Parkinson’s disease. It was a devastating denouement to a medical odyssey that began in September 2017 with a sudden-onset, frozen right shoulder, and took in an unexpected diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes, a lifestyle transformation that enabled me to lose two stone, and a shoulder operation in January this year.”
“Nonetheless my reaction was not one of shock. I spent May this year in New Zealand simultaneously having the comedy month of my life, and worrying about why a right-sided limp was now getting worse. Behind the facade of the cheerful, late night comedy festival drunk was a man deeply scared about facing the truth when back in the UK.”
Paul – who has been the fourth chaser, known as ‘The Smiling Assassin’, since 2011 – admits it has “been a really, really tough two weeks” since he got the diagnosis but now he has a treatment plan in place he feels “prepared for the new challenges ahead”.
The TV personality also intends to continue to appear on ITV quiz show ‘The Chase’ – which is presented by Bradley Walsh.
In his post, he continued: “It has been a really, really tough two weeks. Cancelling my run at the Edinburgh Fringe, missing the World Quizzing Championships to have brain scans, performing club sets whilst emotionally bewildered, and of course working my way through my loved ones, delivering the bad news.
“With the diagnosis now confirmed, and a treatment plan in place, I now feel far more prepared for the new challenges ahead.
“I have an amazing family, no strangers to serious medical illness, I’m blessed to have a fiancé who is there for me, and I have a multitude of friends and colleagues whom I consider to be exceptional human beings.
“I don’t consider myself unlucky, and whatever the next stage of my life holds for me, many others have it far worse.
“In the time since my Parkinson’s started I have been ludicrously busy, and fully intend to keep Chasing, keep writing and performing comedy, keep quizzing and keep being hopeless at Tasks.
“Dancing on Ice is, I suspect, out of the question. A lot of people have asked ‘What can I do to help?’ The answer is to treat me exactly the same as before. Much love, Paul.”

John Middleton stopped watching Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — John Middleton no longer watches ‘Emmerdale’.
The 65-year-old actor departed his role as Rev. Ashley Thomas in April 2017 after over 20 years in the soap and he admitted he made a “conscious decision” to “slam the door” on the show in order to fully step away from the show.
Asked if he still tunes in, he said: “It’s one of those things, as I left, I thought I’m gonna slam the door on this, but I made the conscious decision to stop watching it.
“I really have to put it behind me.
“I’m looking forward to projects which are really different.”
One project John would love to get involved in is the next series of ‘Line of Duty’ as he’s a big fan of the crime drama.
He told Express.co.uk: “I would love to be on it.”
But while he has closed the door on ‘Emmerdale’, the actor admitted he misses working with his castmates, in particular Charlotte Bellamy, who portrayed his screen wife Laurel.
He said: “I miss working with my close friends, particularly Charlotte and the family and everything and the whole association with ‘Emmerdale’.
“It’s like one big family, but at the same time, the only thing you know in a show like that is you know you’re gonna go.”
John departed the Dales when his character lost his battle with dementia following a long-running storyline and he now works closely with the Alzheimer’s Society, who are encouraging the public to help those suffering from the disease to feel included in society.
He said of the initiative: “It’s a national conversation we have to have.
“We can’t avoid the fact action has to be taken and something must be done.”

Dave Bautista keen to play Bane in The Batman

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista wants to play Bane in ‘The Batman’.
The 50-year-old wrestler-turned-actor revealed would be up for playing the DC Comics villain in Matt Reeves’ upcoming blockbuster after a fan on Twitter suggested he would be a great choice to portray The Caped Crusader’s enemy in the film.
Sharing an image of Dave alongside a cartoon of the Batman villain, one fan wrote: “I saw a YouTube video on who should play Batman’s Villains in the new movies. I have to say Dave Bautista would be a good choice to play Bane. (sic)”
Dave replied: “I accept (sic)”
Bane was previously portrayed on the big screen by Tom Hardy in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and the character was part of a major plot in the DC Comics story ‘Knightfall’ which saw Bane become the only man to have “broken the bat” when he delivers a vicious beating to the superhero temporarily leaving Wayne a paraplegic after breaking his back.
The highly anticipated film will hit the big screen in 2021 and following the news that ‘Twilight Saga’ star Robert Pattinson has been cast as The Dark Knight it has been revealed that the movie will not be an origin story and will open with Batman already fighting crime in Gotham City.
However, Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and masked alter ego is “still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective”.
Director Reeves apparently sought out an actor around 30 years old to reflect that Batman is not yet the “world’s greatest detective” and DC Films wanted Pattinson, 33, as he has no connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The news that Pattinson would be taking control of the Batmobile was confirmed earlier this month by Reeves on Twitter.
Warner Bros. Pictures – who are making the movie with DC – were reportedly torn between the 33-year-old actor and Nicholas Hoult to portray the legendary character but decided on the former ‘Twilight’ star to replace Ben Affleck who had portrayed The Dark Knight in the DC Extended Universe films.

The Dead Don’t Die director ‘loves’ working with Bill Murray

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ director Jim Jarmusch “loves” working with Bill Murray because
The 66-year-old filmmaker has praised the Hollywood legend for his “hilarious” performance in the upcoming zombie comedy film, which he wrote and directed and follows a group of small town’s cops as they combat a sudden zombie invasion and insisted that the 68-year-old actor is “such a human being” in every character he plays.
In an interview with Empire, he said: “Bill is such a human being in the characters he embodies and he can be so subtle, but it’s that humanness … I just love Bill Murray, as a person.
“And I love working with him. When he’s clowning around, he’s hilarious, but he’s also the most generous person in the world with other humans. On ‘Broken Flowers’ I had to pull him back to the set, because he was helping elderly people put luggage in the trunk of their car.”
Bill stars alongside Adam Driver, Selena Gomez and Chloe Sevigny in the new film and Chloe, 44, previously revealed that Jim wanted the movie to encourage viewers to “think more about empathy” and she feels “we’re living in the zombie apocalypse now” as the rise in social media means individuals aren’t “connecting on like a real level to one another”.
She said: “Jim wants us to think more about like empathy, what we can do to help others. I mean, to me, I always think like we’re living in the zombie apocalypse now with people in their phones, and people just are like not connecting on like a real level to one another – and it’s terrifying.”

Randall Park ‘can’t believe’ Keanu Reeves agreed to feature in his film

OHMYGOSSIP — Randall Park “can’t believe” Keanu Reeves agreed to appear in ‘Always Be My Maybe’.
The 45-year-old actor recently starred alongside Ali Wong in Netflix’s new romantic comedy, which follows childhood sweethearts Marcus Kim and Sasha Tran and who reconnect after 15 years in San Francisco and also features Keanu, 54, playing an arrogant version of himself who goes on a disastrous double date with Sasha and Marcus.
The ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ star – who co-wrote the film alongside Wong and Michael Golamco – praised the ‘John Wick’ star for his “awareness and sense of humour” and confessed he’s still shocked such a big Hollywood star agreed to a cameo in the movie.
Speaking on Variety and iHeart’s ‘The Big Ticket’ podcast, he said: “For him to have that awareness and sense of humour and that understanding of what we were going for, we still can’t believe he said yes.”
Although Randall is now working with the likes of Keanu, the ‘Aquaman’ star hasn’t forgotten his humble beginnings and recalled his fist ever acting job, where he was paid $200 to promote Chinese liver pills in an advert.
He said: “It was channel 18 and it was in Chinese, and I didn’t understand a word of it. I to this day, I don’t even know what I was selling exactly, and I’m not Chinese, but I played the father of a kid, and I come home from work, and the kid has a lot of energy, and I’m just super tired.
“Then I take these Chinese liver pills and then cut to me being wide awake, happy, playing with my kid all with a Mandarin voiceover. And I still don’t understand what they were saying … But I did get a lot of calls from my friends’ parents saying, ‘I saw you, you’re a huge star.’ And I was like, yeah, I got paid $200.’ ”

Jacqueline Jossa in talks for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa is in talks to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ this year.
The 26-year-old actress could be heading Down Under to Australia for the ITV jungle reality show and producers are keen to get her on board as they feel she’d draw in a “large audience” thanks to her role as Lauren Branning on BBC One soap ‘EastEnders’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Producers think she would be great and are keen to get her a deal. She’s well known as Lauren Branning from ‘EastEnders’ and would draw in a large audience.”
However, ITV are playing down the speculation with a different source adding: “Names suggested for ‘I’m A Celeb’ are speculation.”
Jacqueline previously revealed that she would definitely be up for appearing on the show one day, although she wouldn’t be a big fan of chowing down on creepy crawlies in the eating Bushtucker Trials.
Asked if there are any reality shows she would like to take part in, she told New! magazine: “Would you ever see me in ‘TOWIE’? Probably not. Maybe the jungle one day. Do I like spiders? No. Can I dance on ‘Strictly’? No. I’d want to do something fun, but I wouldn’t find eating spiders fun. I’m not opposed to reality TV, but I’m not all for it, either.”
Since departing ‘EastEnders’ – on which she starred from 2010 to 2018 – Jacqueline has given birth to her second daughter, 11-month-old Mia Osborne, who she shares with husband Dan Osborne, and set up performing arts academy, The Jac Jossa Academy.
The couple also have four-year-old daughter Ella together.

Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins compete for Tommy Fury

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins will compete for Tommy Fury’s affection in the latest episode of ‘Love Island’.
The 19-year-old social media influencer will go head-to-head with the 28-year-old ring girl in a bid to win the interest of the hunky 20-year-old boxer – who is the brother of heavyweight fighter Tyson Fury – as both girls lay their feelings on the line hoping to win his heart.
Molly-Mae says to Tommy: “You’re the guy I like in here. I do want to show you that I still like you. If you feel like what you have with Maura, after knowing the girl for 24 hours, is stronger than what you have with me then that’s absolutely fine. Personally, I don’t feel like you’re going to get on with Maura better than you get along with me.”
However, following Thursday’s explosive episode (13.06.19), which saw newcomer Maura cause a stir when she entered the villa alongside Elma Pazar and select Tommy for a dinner date, Tommy admits he has “no regrets” with his decision to pursue their connection.
Tommy asks Maura: “How was your first night?”
To which the Irish beauty replies: “I didn’t sleep a lot. Curtis was snoring! It was so loud.”
Tommy adds: “It was a pretty good sleep out here.”
Maura says: “I was going to join you but I probably would have got in trouble. How you feeling today?”
Tommy replies: “My mind is clear. I got everything I had to say out in the open last night.”
Maura adds: “Is it all cleared up? Any regrets?”
Tommy says: “No regrets.”
Shortly after, Maura and Tommy have a chat on the day beds and the model wants to know where she stands with him.
Tommy states: “I’m hugely attracted to you. You know you’re sexy.”
Maura sees this as her opportunity to make a move and adds: “What about if I asked you to kiss me?”
And speaking to fellow newcomer Elma later that day, the Essex-beauty insists that she has taken a fancy to Anton Danyluk.
Elma says “He’s just a gentleman. I’m really enjoying getting to know him.”
Maura says “On the date, was there flirting?”
Elma says “A little bit of flirting. He’s quite serious so I want to get the fun side out of him.”
‘Love Island’ airs on Friday night (14.06.19) on ITV2 at 9pm.

Love Island ends on cliffhanger as Molly-Mae asks Maura for a serious chat

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ ended on a cliffhanger with Molly-Mae Hague asking Maura Higgins for a chat after she spent the evening trying to snatch a kiss with Tommy Fury.
The 19-year-old social media influencer tried her best to keep her cool throughout Friday’s (14.06.19) episode, which saw the 28-year-old ring girl climb onto the hunky boxer on the sofa and attempt to kiss him, with him abruptly turning away, before returning to the bedroom to join Molly-Mae in bed.
Tommy had admitted earlier that he wants to kiss Maura “when the time is right”, but later said that even if she looked like “Beyonce” he is not the type of person to two-time.
In their racy exchange, Maura asked Tommy: “Does she turn you on like I do?”
To which he confessed: “You know you are f***ing sexy. Please shut the f*** up. Please be quiet.
“I’d kiss you but obviously I want to get to know you.
“I want to kiss you when the time is right.
“You’ve got this hold over me, I don’t know what the f*** it is.”
When Tommy asked Molly-Mae: “Where are we at?, she replied: “I don’t know. The ball is kind of in your court.”
Whilst the pair try and win the affections of Tommy, Maura admitted she doesn’t see Molly-Mae as “competition” in the slightest and is not willing to lose the “connection” she has with him.
Maura admitted: “With the whole Tommy situation I don’t feel like there is much competition there because I trust Tommy with what he said and I trust the connection we’ve had and I am not going to let that go to easily.”
Elsewhere, Danny Williams and Yewande Biala shared their first kiss, despite the 21-year-old model turning the heads of Elma Pazar, Maura and Molly-Mae.
‘Love Island’ continues on ITV2 and Virgin Media Two on Sunday (16.06.19) at 9pm.

Chris Hemsworth reveals his career regrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth “disliked” filming some of his earliest movie projects.
The 35-year-old actor has teamed up with Tessa Thompson to star in the much-hyped ‘Men in Black: International’ and while he relished the experience of working on the F. Gary Gray-directed film, Chris admitted to hating the movie-making process at points in his career.
He shared: “When I first read the script, and who was involved, and Tessa and [F. Gary Gray] and so on, I thought, ‘This is the reason I love this job.’
“I’ve done things over the years that I’ve justified, ‘Oh, this is good for this and this reason,’ but ultimately didn’t have a great time. And the older I get it needs to be an enjoyable process.”
Chris had a “blast” on the set of ‘Men in Black: International’, which is a spin-off of the ‘Men in Black’ film series.
He also insisted that the new movie remains true to the original films while also bringing something fresh to the money-spinning franchise.
He told Cinema Blend: “It felt unique to the original films aesthetically, where we shot all over the world, and with very different characters to what was there before – but still staying true and hitting all the boxes that people loved and appreciated from the originals. We had a blast.”

Michael B. Jordan inspired by his dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan’s role model is his dad.
The ‘Creed’ star is “constantly” comparing himself to his father and admitted his dad Michael A. Jordan inspires him every day.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, he said: “It’s hard for me to really choose a role model but I would have to say the closest thing I have to one is my dad. He is somebody I look up to, constantly measure myself against and who keeps inspiring me every day.”
The 32-year-old actor treasures the time he gets to spend with his family because his work takes him away so often.
Asked how he spends his time outside of work, he said: “Sports, anything athletic. I used to play basketball a lot. I like getting outside, honestly, being in nature and travelling whenever I can.
“It’s really important to see different things and get inspired by the world that’s around us.
“Spending time with my family too. I’m always going somewhere so whenever I get to spend quality time with my brother, my sister, my mom and dad, I try to soak up those moments as much as I can.”
Scent evokes a lot of memories of Michael’s family.
Discussing his favourite smells, he said: “The first thing that pops into my head is my grandmother’s rum cakes – going to her house, walking in the front door and smelling the cakes being baked.
“It just makes me feel at home and comfortable. Freshly cut grass is another one. Growing up in New Jersey I was always mowing the lawn and stuff like that. Freshly cut grass is a smell that I remember very strongly.
“And my mother – my mom’s smell when I give her a hug is something that is very close to me.”

Himesh Patel is ‘proud’ of Yesterday character

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel is “proud” his ‘Yesterday’ character isn’t defined by his ethnicity.
The 28-year-old actor plays singer/songwriter Jack Malik, the only person on the planet to be aware of The Beatles, in Danny Boyle’s new movie and he’s glad that his heritage wasn’t a central part of his alter ego or the story.
In an interview with Marie Claire magazine, he said: “I’ve found the majority of the roles I’ve done haven’t been defined by my ethnicity. I’m glad that with a film like ‘Yesterday’, the role wasn’t defined that way. It demands very specific things, so I’m glad that I could personally bring that to the table. And that I just happened to be of Indian descent. I’m proud we didn’t feel the need to address it in any way – it’s not the story we are telling.”
While the former ‘EastEnders’ star didn’t feel “Intimidated” at his first leading film role, he was worried about having to sing on screen, even though he knew he had the musical talent.
He said: “I was ecstatic to get the part but didn’t have time to let it intimidate me.
“A few days after the news, I sat down with Danny, and our composer Daniel [Pemberton] to go through which songs we were doing.
“[Singing is] something I’ve kept hidden as it were. I knew it was in my wheelhouse but I hadn’t done it outside of my flat so it was nerve-wracking. It was pushing myself out of my comfort zone and that’s what I liked about the role. It was nice to rise to the challenge.”
Himesh “learned a lot” from his more experienced co-star, Lily James.
He said “She’s an incredible actress. To work closely with someone like that on my first film was like, ‘Oh OK, that’s how you do it.’ She was a real joy, I learned a lot.”
‘Yesterday’ has been written by Richard Curtis and also stars pop superstar Ed Sheeran playing himself.

Simon Kinberg bemoans Dark Phoenix’s release date

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Kinberg thinks ‘Dark Phoenix’ was undermined by its release date being moved around.
The 45-year-old filmmaker helmed the new, much-maligned superhero movie, and has suggested that uncertainty over its release date damaged its box-office performance.
Speaking to KCRW’s ‘The Business’ podcast, Simon – whose film arrived shortly after the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ – explained: “I always felt that we had a tough date for this particular movie.
“It wasn’t made as a classic superhero movie, it was made as more of a dramatic, intimate, smaller film.
“Originally it was going to come out in November, then it was going to come out in February, and those were the date that I felt like it actually would have felt more appropriate to.
“And think also coming out five, six weeks after what may well be the biggest movie or the second biggest movie in the history of cinema, that also happens to be also in the genre of superheroes, was tough for us, and I always anticipated that it was going to be tough to be in the tailwinds of that movie. But I wouldn’t blame it on the weekend.”
Simon also claimed the film could’ve been finished in time for a February release.
He said: “If we had accelerated certain things in that movie, it perhaps would have been ready by that date.”

Bobby Davro admits to ‘punching’ on the dating front

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Davro thinks he’s “punching” on the dating front.
The 60-year-old actor – who previously played Vinnie Monks in ‘EastEnders’ – has admitted to exceeding his own expectations by dating a woman who is half his age.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the TV funnyman confessed: “Shes only 30 and I’m 60. I’m punching well above my weight.”
Bobby met his new love interest on a night out, and wasted little time in trying to charm her.
The comedian confessed he can still barely believe he’s managed to attract the brunette beauty, whose name remains a secret.
He shared: “I can’t believe my luck.”
Bobby was previously married to Trudi Jameson, the mother of his three children.
But in 2017, he admitted that another of his previous girlfriends, Vicky Wright, struggled to accept the close relationship he’s maintained with his ex-wife.
He shared: “I have a co-dependence problem.
“When I got divorced, I made a promise, as did my ex-wife, that we’d try and be friends and we thought that was good for our children and that’s what I’ve done.
“However, it causes great problems with me because I’m close to my ex-wife, it caused problems with my girlfriend, Vicky.
“It’s difficult for her to understand I need something else in my life, and that’s my family. It’s about including my children in my life, which is my priority…
“The way I’m living my life is I wanted to live it as a family, it comes before anything, and its difficult for the woman in my life to understand that. Maybe my mistake [was] to include my ex-wife as part of my family.”

Gabby Allen calls Maura Higgins’ behaviour ’embarrassing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabby Allen has branded Maura Higgins’ behaviour on ‘Love Island’ “embarrassing”.
The former ‘Love Island’ star has taken to Twitter to voice her disgust at Maura’s conduct on the show, blasting the brunette beauty for trying to kiss Tommy Fury even after he made it clear he didn’t want to.
Gabby wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “Yano what, Molly may have not handled things well to start with but imagine trying to compete with this. It’s intimidating and embarrassing for everyone involved. We only have to watch this, imagine being in there? Noooo thanks, you can have him. #LoveIsland. (sic)”
Maura’s behaviour has also been criticised by Amber Davies, who starred on ‘Love Island’ in 2017.
She wrote on Twitter: “Mortified by Mauras behaviour #LoveIsland. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Gabby previously admitted she had “no idea” how much her life would change after ‘Love Island’.
The blonde beauty starred on the show’s third series and while she was “vetted” before entering the villa, she wasn’t prepared for how dramatically things would change.
She said: “I had no idea how my life was going to change I was definitely thrown into the spotlight. Before you go into the villa you meet with a psychologist.
“They speak to you to see how you respond to certain questions and ask about previous experiences in your life. I feel like I was vetted.
“Some people can handle it more than others. You know going in that it’s national TV, so people are going to know who you are on some level.
“But sometimes contestants go out and expect so much and then when they don’t get it, it can be a hard pill to swallow.”

Chris Hemsworth loves acting with Tessa Thompson

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth loves working with “incredibly talented” Tessa Thompson.
The 35-year-old actor has reunited with his ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ co-star in ‘Men In Black: International’ and he simply was thrilled to get the chance to showcase their on-screen “chemistry” once again.
Speaking to OK! magazine, he said: “Tessa is incredibly talented. I’ve worked with her a number of times in the past and I don’t think Thor would have been the character he is in ‘Ragnarok’ without their relationship.
“It was fantastic to be able to pick up where we left off and launch into that chemistry that we’d built before.”
The Australian star has worked with CGI before but his alien encounters in ‘Men In Black: International’ was different.
He said: “On set, most of the time the alien is a tennis ball or a stick – but in this movie, a lot of the aliens were people in CGI jumpsuits. It’s interesting how that’s changed over the years.”
Chris – who has daughter India, seven, and five-year-old twin sons Tristan and Sasha with wife Elsa Pataky – adopted an English accent for the movie and the actor admitted he loves spending time in London.
He said: “This is the London branch of the Men In Black so it was important for him to be English.
“I love London. I’ve shot so much there that it’s become a second home to me over the years.”
One of the reasons why the actor signed up for the film was that it made fun of the concept of a male-driven movie.
He said: “We have a fair amount of fun with this in the movie. We have a few jokes about it. For me, that was a reason to jump on board. It was something unique and different to what had been done before. There was a nice sense of awareness and a nod to the need for change and the change that is occurring.”
