OHMYGOSSIP — Freddie Starr has been laid to rest.
The comedian was buried in a coffin engraved with the words ‘Return to Sender’ in a nod to Elvis Presley.
Freddie – who was famed for impersonating the iconic musician – was hailed an “outstanding talent and comic genius” by Canon John Taylor who welcomed the late actor’s close friends and family to the service at Prescot Parish Church in Merseyside at 1pm on Thursday (13.06.19), just over a month after he passed away alone in Costa del Sol, Spain at the age of 76.
The Cannon said the mourners were a “testament to the affection with which Freddie was held”.
An emotional eulogy was also given by Freddie’s daughter Ebony, in which she said: “Dear dad, rest in peace – my hero, my father.
“Ever since day one you have always been there for me and always will be.
“Even though you have left by unexpected causes you will still be strong in my heart.
“You have inspired me to be the best I can possibly be.
“Just to hear your voice one more time would mean the most and that would be cherished in my heart.”
The “short and sweet” service only last for 20 minutes, but afterwards mourners gathered at a nearby pub to sing ‘Return To Sender’.
The service was funded by funeral director Michael Fogg Family Funeral Directors to ensure he was given the send-off he deserved.
Freddie died after suffering from a heart attack, according to the post-mortem which was carried out at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
A police insider said: “Freddie Starr died from a heart attack. There is absolutely no doubt. He had a history of heart problems and the autopsy has revealed a heart attack was the cause of his death.”
Freddie had previously suffered from coronary artery disease and had a quadruple bypass following a heart attack in 2010.

OHMYGOSSIP — A ‘Love Island’ supergroup will compete in ‘Celebrity X Factor’.
Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty – who all competed on the 2018 series of the dating show – are planning to team up to try and impress Simon Cowell and his fellow judges on the talent contest and are currently discussing what sort of songs they can perform together to boost their chances of winning.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Show boss Simon Cowell has long-admired ‘Love Island’ and its pulling power. So when the idea of a ‘Love Island’ supergroup was raised he thought it was great.
“They’re not signed yet, but the four have been discussing songs and how they’d approach the show, so it looks very likely. They’re all confident that they can hold a tune.”
A spokesperson for the show played down the supergroup claim.
They simply said: “There is much speculation regarding the contestants for this year’s series of ‘The X Factor’.”
It was recently claimed that ‘Coronation Street’ star Lucy Fallon – who plays Bethany Platt – is at the top of producers’ wish lists to be a contestant on the show.
A source said: “There have been some initial chats between producers and Lucy’s team.
“She is top of their wish list, so understandably they are keen to sign her up.
“Lucy would be a brilliant addition to the line-up and is leaving Coronation Street next year.
“Discussions are ongoing and nothing is set in stone right now. The initial chats with her people happened a while back, but it’s looking like Lucy’s name could be in the mix.”
Her co-star Victoria Ekanoye – who played Angie Appleton on the soap from 2017 to 2019 – has agreed to take part in the series and the bosses are keen reel in another ‘Corrie’ beauty.
Other stars hoped to appear on the series this year include The Only Way Is Essex’s on-and-off couple Gemma Collins and James Argent.

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness says Richard Hammond wished him luck for ‘Top Gear’.
The 45-year-old star will front the new series of the BBC motoring show alongside Freddie Flintoff, 41, and Chris Harris, 44, and he revealed one of the programme’s former hosts – who presented alongside James May and Jeremy Clarkson until the trio’s exit in 2015 – has given him some support.
He told the BBC: “”I bumped into Richard Hammond at the Pride of Britain Awards. And, he was like ‘good luck with [‘Top Gear’], I think you’ll do an amazing job’.
“And, I thought, fair play to him, that’s nice to hear.”
Finding the right balance for the presenting team has been a tough task for producers since Clarkson, Hammond and May departed and went on to host ‘The Grand Tour’ for Amazon.
And despite the mix of personalities and backgrounds, Chris has suggested bosses have found the perfect blend.
He added: “When people saw the names, they probably went, ‘hang on, a cricketer and a comedian?’
“But why not? If you had three people like me, people would fall asleep. I think we’re a good, broad team, we cover a lot of bases.”
Meanwhile, Chris recently revealed his former co-star Matt LeBlanc was gutted to have to quit the show.
He said: “He’s gutted he couldn’t carry on doing it – it’s not because he didn’t want to do it.
“The geography of his life didn’t allow him to do it… You could argue he put himself out there for too long to carry on doing it. The travel for him was extraordinary.”
‘Top Gear’ returns to BBC Two on Sunday (16.06.19).

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Banks agreed to reboot ‘Charlie’s Angels’ because she wanted to make a movie about “women at work”.
The 45-year-old actress has taken the help on the upcoming action film – which stars Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska and Naomi Scott – and was keen to show the bond between the spies and prove females have more complex things going on in their lives than their relationships with other people.
She said: “I just wanted to make a movie about women at work, working together. I wanted to make a movie that was not about their boyfriends that they didn’t see enough, or the cats they didn’t feed, or the mother that they didn’t call, because I don’t worry about those things in my daily life. And so, in that way, I felt like we were updating the idea of ‘Charlie’s Angels’.”
Elizabeth thinks the time was right for the reboot because of the rise of things such as the #MeToo movement, which she thinks have happened because more women are in work than ever before.
She added to The Hollywood Reporter: “I went back to the original idea in ‘Charlie’s Angels’, which was that women were in the workforce.
“And all of the things that I feel are happening in the women’s movement right now, whether it be #MeToo, or — I say this in a time of dire straits for women’s rights in this country right now — but I feel like all those things are happening because women are in the workforce in greater numbers than ever in human history.”
Kristen recently claimed the upcoming movie is “woke and grounded” – but still light hearted.
She said: “At one point I think we said it was woke and grounded, and everyone was like, ‘Wait, is it still fun?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah dude, obviously, it’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks says visiting Disneyland with his grown-up daughter made him realise how iconic ‘Toy Story’ is.
The Hollywood star has reprised his memorable role of cowboy doll Woody for the fourth time in the new animated movie, and his daughter Elizabeth – from his first marriage to Samantha Lewes – spotted something during the ‘Fantasmic!’ show at the California theme park which made the movie’s legacy sink in.
Hanks told CinemaBlend: “There’s fireworks and there’s dancers, and at Disneyland the closing of the show is the Mark Twain steamboat comes by and all of the Disney characters are dancing on that steamboat.
“Belle and Sleeping Beauty and Mickey and everyone – Mulan is there. They’re all there, Captain Hook and Peter Pan. And I was there with my family; my daughter, who’s in her thirties burst into tears. I said, ‘What’s wrong?’ And she said, ‘Look, Dad, look at the end of the boat.’
“It was Woody and Buzz. She said, ‘Dad, you will always be on that boat dancing for the rest of time, as long as Disneyland is here.’ ”
Meanwhile, the 62-year-old actor – who first took on the role in the original 1995 movie – recently opened up about ‘Toy Story 4’, and he described his final scenes as “profound”.
He previously said: “I didn’t want to have any self-consciousness for what I knew was going to be the … last few hours I was spending with the movie.
“When it came to pass, I felt as though I was on the other side of the river waving to everybody I had left back in the old country. It was pretty profound.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Attenborough’s personal firm made over £1 million from BBC’s ‘Blue Planet II’ series in one year.
The 92-year-old broadcaster – who owns 54 per cent of David Attenborough (Productions) Limited – made a profit of £1,035,634 in 12 months from the second part of the critically-acclaimed series, which explores marine life and plastic pollution in oceans across the world, according to a report published by Companies House.
‘Blue Planet II’ was broadcast in 2017 and the new statistics cover the year to the end of June 2018, following his profit of £943,055 the year before.
The firm’s shareholders include his son Robert and daughter Susan.
Attenborough previously admitted that nature shows have a “responsibility” in the battle against climate change.
The TV legend has explained the important role documentary makers focused on natural history have in the modern world, and insisted his role has become much more than simply comment on all the “wonderful things” caught on film.
He said: “There’s a big responsibility that natural history filmmakers have.
“I’d love to spend the whole time saying: ‘Look at these wonderful things, aren’t they lovely?’ But you have a responsibility for pointing out that unless we change our ways, they’re not going to be here forever.”
Sir David admitted it is “naive” to suggest that changes will be made “overnight”, but he added it is something that can change over time.
He added: “It would be naive to think suddenly that you can say something and these enormously powerful men and organisations are going to change overnight. The world doesn’t work like that.
“But there are groundswells, there are these great sea changes that are difficult to plot, but they do happen. It’s up to us to bring that about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Mellor is desperate for Sheridan Smith to be part of the ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ reunion.
The 43-year-old actor – who played Gaz Wilkinson in all nine series of the BBC Two sitcom until 2011 – revealed on his Instagram account this week that plans are underway for a special and he admits it just would be the same if Sheridan isn’t part of it.
Speaking to the The Sun’s Bizarre TV column, he said: “It’s going to be hard to get the cast back together as everyone is busy, but we want to make a one-off special to say thanks for all the support. We’d welcome Sheridan with open arms.”
Sheridan played Janet Keogh in eight seasons of the show and was the girlfriend of Ralf Little’s character Jonny Keogh – who appeared on the programme for the first six runs.
Other regular cast members included Natalie Casey who portrayed Donna Henshaw – Gaz’s girlfriend – in every series, Kathryn Drysdale who played kooky Louise Brooks for eight seasons and Beverley Callard, who was Donna’s mother Flo Henshaw in seasons one to three.
Will is excited about the special and admits shooting the show for 10 years was one of the best times of his career because the cast became such great mates.
He said: “They were the best times. We’d go out at weekends and be together every day. We’d have a few drinks and wake up fresh.”
‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ has been gaining new fans after all 79 episodes were added to iPlayer, with Gold also showing re-runs in the evening.

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ contestant Malin Andersson considered taking her own life when her baby was taken seriously ill after being born earlier this year.
The reality TV star was left devastated when her daughter Consy died in January just weeks after she was born seven weeks prematurely and she has now admitted that when her tot was in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital she started “slowly collecting tablets” because if her child was going to die then she didn’t want to live either.
In an interview with Kate Thornton on the Yahoo podcast White Wine Question Time, she admitted: “[When Consy was in ICU] I was too scared to touch her, because of the wires and everything. I was slowly collecting tablets … because I was thinking, ‘If she’s going to go, f**k, I’m going too. Because what else have I got to live for here? I haven’t got a family to go back to.’ ”
In the wake of her baby daughter’s death, Malin – who had Consy with her ex-boyfriend Tom Kemp – tried to self-medicate with alcohol to cope with her all-consuming grief and she couldn’t face speaking to anybody.
She said: “When she passed away, I locked myself away for about three weeks. I just drank wine every night, I didn’t want to speak to anybody.”
During that awful time, Josie Gibson reached out to Malin to try and offer her some comfort and she gathered a host of video messages of support from the likes of Stevo The Madman, Kym Marsh, Charlotte Crosby, Ferne McCann and others to send to her and Malin admits that support helped her greatly.
She said: “There were just video messages from random people, celebrities, just offering words of courage, support. And they actually made such a difference. Josie was just giving me support that was very much needed at the time. And no one else really knew what to say to me. But she just put herself out there.”
Josie and Malin had struck up a friendship over Instagram as they were both pregnant at the same time and the former ‘Big Brother’ winner – who gave birth to son Reggie in September last year – admits she wept so many tears of sadness for Malin’s loss.
Speaking to Malin on the podcast, Josie said: “I cried so much for you. Because we were sharing our stories the whole way through, and then … I didn’t sleep for two nights. I was so upset for you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley wants to return to ‘Coronation Street’ one day.
The 35-year-old actress departed her role as Eva Price last August after eight years on screen but thinks it would be “lovely” to return to Weatherfield at some point in the future.
Asked if she’d go back, she told Metro.co.uk: “Yeah, never say never! It was my home for a long time and I’d love to see Eva go back there at some point when the time’s right for me.
“It would be [lovely] to revisit that. She was great to play.”
The ITV soap has recently seen a string of cast members announce their departures, including Kym Marsh, Lucy Fallon and Faye Brookes, but Catherine laughed off claims the show is in crisis, insisting that everyone “adores” working on the programme.
She said: “I’ve always said I’ve got nothing but positivity for ‘Corrie’ and I think everything just been blown out of proportion.
“Everybody I know that works there adores that place, so there’s never any hard feelings.”
And even though it’s been almost a year since she stopped working on ‘Corrie’, Catherine still feels like part of the soap “family”.
She said: “I think people like to create little stories, but as boring as it sounds, we’re one big family and even when you’ve left, you still feel like part of the family, you’re just a bit of a distant cousin for a while. It’s a great place to be.”
The actress previously admitted she would love to play more comedy and “gritty drama” roles after leaving ‘Corrie’.
She said: “I adore doing comedy and Eva has had that side to her.
“Kate Oates has really fuelled my desire to do some gritty drama as well.
“We’ll see what happens. I feel really excited.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stefan Dennis had a crush on Denise Van Outen.
The 60-year-old actor – who portrays Paul Robinson in ‘Neighbours’ – was delighted to have the British star recently join the soap as Prue Wallace because he’s been a fan of the blonde beauty since she hosted ‘The Big Breakfast’ in the late 1990s.
He said: “I knew Denise from many years ago when she did ‘The Big Breakfast’ and I was a guest a few times and like probably 7 million other red-blooded men…
“She was a sweetie, very confident.”
Stefan’s co-star, Rebekah Elmaloglou – who portrays Therese Willis – admitted she initially didn’t realise how long a stint Denise had signed up for on the how.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “She was great, the character she played. I thought it was a cameo but she’s coming out to Australia next month.”
Stefan was one of the original cast members of ‘Neighbours’ when it started in 1995 but he left in 1993 then returned in 2004.
While he admitted there isn’t so much “hysteria” surrounding him when he goes out in public these days, he’s still staggered by the number of people who know who he is.
He said: “I made an assumption there’s probably about a billion people who know who I am because I’ve been Paul for so long, and at one stage we were going to 70 countries, it adds up.”
Denise recently admitted she’s delighted to have joined the “iconic” show.
She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of one the world’s most iconic shows, ‘Neighbours’.
“To be asked is a privilege and I am very excited to get to work on a really fun storyline first in London and then heading over to Melbourne.
“I can’t say too much just yet but my character Prue is heading to Ramsay Street to stir things up and I can’t wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ star Moya Brady has hinted that Darren Osbourne could be the one to uncover the truth about Breda McQueen.
The 56-year-old actress’ murderous alter ego gets engaged to Jack Osbourne (Jimmy McKenna) in episodes set to air next month and while her family are elated, she doesn’t think the cab firm boss (Ashley Taylor Dawson) will be as thrilled for his dad.
She said: “The McQueens most definitely approve of Jack and are very pleased to see Breda find love but I have a feeling that Darren smells something wrong with Breda.”
While Breda has previously only targeted ‘bad dads’, Moya insists no one is safe from the nanny’s thirst for vengeance.
Asked if Breda would struggle to murder someone she cared about in the soap’s ‘Fri-Yay’ interview, Moya replied: “Not if it was for the greater good. Breda believes that god comes first and the children come first too so sacrifices must be made…
“[She targets] bad parents, predominantly men but I wouldn’t say women were exempt. The safe guarding and protection of the children must always come first.
“However, Breda ultimately believes that she can have a village of strong independent women doing a good job. That is her vision.”
And Moya thinks there’s a number of residents in the village who could be targeted by Killer McQueen.
She said: “There’s not one man here that doesn’t have a chequered past if you look in to it. It’s not just the obvious people like Liam (Donovan, played by Jude Monk McGowan) and Laurie (Shelby, actor Kyle Prior), there’s quite a chequered history in Hollyoaks. The axe could fall anywhere as far as Breda is concerned.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack’s aunt Amy Robbins has joined the cast of ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘Royal’ actress – who is also the younger sister of ‘Phoenix Nights’ star Ted Robbins – has signed up for a short stint on the BBC One soap.
However, it isn’t clear as yet whether she’ll play Jane Carter, who she briefly appeared in Walford as in 1999, or as a new character, nor is it known how long she will be on screen.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Bosses are keeping tight-lipped about how she’ll feature but regardless of what role she plays, she is sure to impress.”
Amy is no stranger to the world of soap as she previously played Lynette Drinkwell in ‘Hollyoaks’ and has also had minor roles in ‘Doctors’.
Amy’s new role is sure to have sparked envy in her niece as Emily has previously admitted she’d love to appear in the soap.
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ star previously said: “I’d never rule out [joining a soap]. I’ve done a lot of film, so I’d like to get back into television.
“If I was to do one, I’d love to do ‘EastEnders’. I could play a new naughty Mitchell sister.”
Emily was thrilled when her former ‘Inbetweeners’ co-star Emily Head also landed a soap role, playing Rebecca White.
She said: “Emily is a lovely girl so I was really happy for her.
“She really deserves it. I haven’t stayed in touch with her but if we ever bump into each other we get on really well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Reinaldo Marcus Green is on board to direct Will Smith’s ‘King Richard’.
The ‘Monsters and Men’ filmmaker is set to helm Warner Bros new film about Venus Williams and Serena Williams with Smith, 50, playing the tennis great’s father, Richard Williams.
Zach Baylin’s new screenplay tells the story of Richard who, with no tennis experience, raised and developed the sisters to become legends of the sport.
The movie is set for release in 2020 and Venus, 38, and Serena, 37, aren’t among the producing team, which includes the ‘Suicide Squad’ star and his Overbrook Entertainment banner.
Richard, 77, trained the girls on the courts of Compton in Los Angeles from an early age and at the age of four drew up a 78-page plan for their professional careers.
The pair were still teenagers when Serena won the US Open in 1999 and Venus won Wimbledon in 2000.
Serena has gone on to win a total of 23 individual Grand Slam tournaments, whilst Venus has won seven Grand Slam titles.
The rest of the producing team consists of Tim White and Trevor Write through their Star Thrower Entertainment banner and Allan Mandelbaum and Caleeb Pinkett will serve as executive producers with Mary Solomon and Rick Rickertsen.
Speaking of her father’s influence on her life, Serena previously said: “He’s been the most important person in my career. I do miss my dad obviously. I miss him all the time.
“I call him. I try to reach out to him a lot. He calls me. He watches my matches. He still tells me things that I’m not doing right.
“It all started with an idea. It was his idea. It’s changed sports. It’s changed history.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Universal and Blumhouse Productions are remaking ‘Black Christmas’ with Imogen Poots starring.
The 30-year-old actress – who is best known for her roles as Tammy in the 2007 horror film ’28 Weeks Later’ and Linda Keith in the 2013 Jimi Hendrix biopic ‘Jimi: All Is by My Side’ – is set to play the lead role in Jason Blum’s upcoming re-imagining of the 1974 psychological slasher film.
The new movie is set for release on December 13 and will also star Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt while Sophia Takal will helm the project from a script written by April Wolfe.
The original film, which is considered a cult classic, followed a group of sorority sisters who receive threatening phone calls and are eventually stalked and murdered by a deranged killer during the Christmas season.
The movie was remade in 2006 by Glen Morgan starring Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Oliver Hudson, Lacey Chabert, Kristen Cloke and Andrea Martin.
Universal have decided to remake the movie following the success of last year’s ‘Halloween’ sequel – which takes place 40 years after the first movie, and sees Jamie Lee Curtis reprise her role as Laurie Strode.
A follow-up to that ‘Halloween’ reset is also in the works with Scott Teems in discussion to pen the script as Danny McBride and David Gordon Green – who wrote and directed 2018 movie – won’t be involved with the next instalment in the Michael Myers slasher story.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kieron Richardson thinks it is “right” ‘Hollyoaks’ viewers are finding his latest storyline “hard to watch”.
The 33-year-old actor’s alter ego Ste Hay has fallen under the spell of a far right extremist group in recent months and though fans have turned on his character, he thinks the plot would have been “pointless” if it didn’t spark such a major reaction.
He said: “The audience are finding it hard to watch and rightly so, it’s opening their eyes about something that is actually happening. If there wasn’t that kind of a reaction it would be pointless as we are trying to highlight a big issue.
“I understand why people are hating Ste, I’m used to it and it means we’re doing a good job of portraying it.”
Ste’s sisters, Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and his best friend Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) have already turned their backs on the chef because of his new outlook on life, and Kieron revealed his alter ego’s ex-husband, Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) will be the next person to “come into play” in the plot.
But Ste’s new friends will see Harry as a “threat” and will do all they can to keep him at a distance.
Kieron told RadioTimes.com: “Harry is going to come into play. Ste and Harry have not seen each other in a while and have a lot of catching up to do, and Harry has to work out whether he likes the new Ste.
“Jonny, Stuart and the far right group see Harry as a threat, a link to the ‘old Ste’ in the way Tony and Leela were, so they will want to put some distance between them. Then another new character is thrown in who I’ve been doing some scenes with recently.
“I don’t want to give too much away but he might have something to do with Harry and also the brotherhood, and them wanting to keep Ste and Harry apart…”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa is in talks to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ this year.
The 26-year-old actress could be heading Down Under to Australia for the ITV jungle reality show and producers are keen to get her on board as they feel she’d draw in a “large audience” thanks to her role as Lauren Branning on BBC One soap ‘EastEnders’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Producers think she would be great and are keen to get her a deal. She’s well known as Lauren Branning from ‘EastEnders’ and would draw in a large audience.”
However, ITV are playing down the speculation with a different source adding: “Names suggested for ‘I’m A Celeb’ are speculation.”
Jacqueline previously revealed that she would definitely be up for appearing on the show one day, although she wouldn’t be a big fan of chowing down on creepy crawlies in the eating Bushtucker Trials.
Asked if there are any reality shows she would like to take part in, she told New! magazine: “Would you ever see me in ‘TOWIE’? Probably not. Maybe the jungle one day. Do I like spiders? No. Can I dance on ‘Strictly’? No. I’d want to do something fun, but I wouldn’t find eating spiders fun. I’m not opposed to reality TV, but I’m not all for it, either.”
Since departing ‘EastEnders’ – on which she starred from 2010 to 2018 – Jacqueline has given birth to her second daughter, 11-month-old Mia Osborne, who she shares with husband Dan Osborne, and set up performing arts academy, The Jac Jossa Academy.
The couple also have four-year-old daughter Ella together.
