OHMYGOSSIP — James Lock is hoping he can fulfil a boyhood dream by becoming a Royal Ascot winning owner this weekend.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is part of a syndicate which owns racehorse Keystroke, who will take part in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes – which has a total prize money fund of £600,000 – on Saturday (22.06.19) at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
He said: “It will be a dream come true! I grew up watching horse racing as a little boy, but never once thought I’d end up owning a horse that could end up winning a big race at Royal Ascot.
“I love everything about Royal Ascot, it’s a great day out where everyone dresses up and enjoys the racing. I can’t wait to be there on Saturday to cheer on Keystroke.”
James – who is also known as Lockie – admits it is a “special feeling” when his horse wins a race, and he has encouraged others to get involved in owning a racehorse.
Speaking at a visit to Stuart Williams’ yard in Newmarket to check in on Keystroke’s final preparations ahead of the big race, he added: “Owning a racehorse is brilliant.
“It takes you to places you could only imagine of going and adds to the excitement of what is already a great day out.
“Especially being in a syndicate with my mates, it’s a special feeling when your horse wins. I would encourage anyone to get into ownership, if I can do it, anyone can.”
Speaking about Keystroke’s chances on Saturday, Stuart said: “I’m very happy with him. We’ve had a very good preparation and we’ve got Adam Kirby on board again. I’m very hopeful Ascot will suit him.
“It’s great to be going to Royal Ascot with a horse like Keystroke, in a race against some of the best sprinters in the world. It’s a tough task but he’s very well in himself and we’re all very much looking forward to it.”
Keystroke is a 33/1 shot for the race, but the horse has previously overcome its odds in the Abernat Stakes at Newmarket back in April, where he stormed to victory at a huge price of 66/1.
James who is one of eight involved in the syndicate, which is managed by GG Thoroughbreds.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony Carrigan has been cast in the ‘Bill & Ted’ reboot.
The 36-year-old actor – who is best known for playing Victor Zsasz in the FOX series ‘Gotham’ and NoHo Hank in the HBO series ‘Barry’ – will star alongside Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in the much-anticipated reboot movie, which is slated for release in 2020.
‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ actress Samara Weaving and ‘Atypical’ star Brigette Lundy-Paine will portray Winter and Reeves’ respective titular alter-egos Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan’s daughters Thea Preston and Billie Logan in the third instalment of the fantasy teen classic this summer.
‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’ – which follows the two loveable slackers who travel through time – is scheduled for release in summer 2020 and sees Dean Parisot helming a script based on screenplay by original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.
Steven Soderbergh is executive producing along with R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli.
Cast wise, William Sadler is set to return as Death.
The 69-year-old actor is back as the Grim Reaper in the upcoming sequel – which comes 28 years after the second instalment of the saga, ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’, which saw Death challenge Bill the duo in a game for their souls, which the pair ultimately win.
The film’s official Twitter account previously confirmed the casting news in a tweet which read: “For those who have been asking, @Wm_Sadler will totally be reprising his role! (sic)”
An official synopsis for the movie teased the appearance of a “few music legends” as the two friends set out to save “life as we know it”.
It stated: “Yet to fulfil their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Aldis Hodge is set to star in ‘The Invisible Man’ reboot.
The 32-year-old actor – who is best known for his roles in TNT series ‘Leverage’ and for playing rapper MC Ren in the 2015 NWA biopic ‘Straight Outta Compton’ – is on board for an unknown part in the remake of Universal’s 1933 movie, which is based on the novel of the same name by H. G. Wells.
Elisabeth Moss will also star in the project and is believed to be playing Flora Cranley, the love interest of the character Dr. Jack Griffin who becomes invisible after a series of scientific tests.
Details of the project are being kept under wraps for now but it is known that Leigh Whannell – who helmed ‘Upgrade’ and ‘Saw’ – is directing the project which is part of Universal’s ‘Dark Universe’ collection of films. The shared universe was kicked off by 2017’s ‘The Mummy’.
Johnny Depp was originally due to play Dr. Griffin, but the movie is pushing forward without the 55-year-old star’s involvement.
The film has suffered from major setbacks after Ed Solomon stepped down from writing the reboot last year due to creative differences with the studio.
He previously said: “At the end of the day, I think Universal and I had a different idea of what the movie was gonna be. We began thinking that our notions would meld, and I should’ve listened more closely to what they really were wanting. I think Universal has had to come to a kind of reckoning of, ‘What are we doing with the ‘Dark Universe’?’ And, ‘What is our real intention with it?’ And I thinking they’re re-configuring it now, which I think is probably good. So I’m not working on it.”
Universal Studios made its name with the Universal Monsters movies which began in the 1920s with Lon Chaney’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. The creature features continued to be popular with audiences for the next three decades with ‘Dracula’, ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Mummy’, ‘The Wolf Man’ and ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ all being major hits whilst making household names of Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. and Boris Karloff.
The ‘Dark Universe’ was due to continue with a ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ remake with Angelina Jolie in the title role but that project was put on hold after Alex Kurtzman – who helmed and co-wrote the Tom Cruise led reboot of ‘The Mummy’, which was the starting point for the connected series of movies – and co-producer Chris Morgan stepped away from the entire multiverse.
‘The Invisible Man’ is now the next film in the series.

OHMYGOSSIP — Patsy Palmer tries to go by her real name “Julie” in the US – but she “gets so confused” having two monikers.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who was born Julie Anne Harris – uses her married name Julie Merkell while socialising in Malibu, where she now lives, but admits she sometimes forgets and reverts back to her work name, Patsy, so her Stateside pals now refer to her as “Patsy Julie”.
She said: “They [fans] don’t know me [in America] and I have another name. My name is Julie really, so I thought, ‘I’m going to get back to calling myself my real name.’
“But I actually get so confused myself that sometimes I’ll say Patsy and sometimes I’ll say Julie.
“So now in Malibu they call me Patsy Julie.
“Julie Anne Harris was my name, my married name is Julie Merkell.
“And I’m Bianca, I’m a mum, I’m a wife, I’m everything. So, who am I?
“I need to go on ‘Who Do You Thing You Are?’ ”
As well as using her real name, Patsy has increased her DJ work across the pond, but she doesn’t like to call herself a DJ for fear of “insulting” career disc jockeys.
She said: “I love DJ-ing. I don’t want to say I’m a DJ, but I am.
“But DJs don’t really like it. I guess maybe like any other profession, that’s what they’ve done as their profession for years … so I do say I’m not a DJ, but I just love playing music, and now I do. I don’t want to be insulting.
“I play disco, house, 90s hip hop I love. I play all different kinds of stuff.
“I’ve now met all of my music heroes I’ve grown up with there, Pharrell [Williams], Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre.
“I’m like, ‘That’s it, I’m done.’ As long as I’ve got to dance all night with them I’m all good.”
Patsy has also got to know Cindy Crawford because the supermodel’s daughter Kaia Gerber used to go to the same school as the soap star’s kids, and she has even spun the decks at school fundraisers.
She said: “[Cindy] is really lovely, as beautiful as you would imagine her to be, so down to earth.
“I DJ at all the school fundraisers, at Soho House in Malibu for quite a long time.”
Patsy is to return to ‘EastEnders’ for a brief stint in the coming weeks, and admitted she has been keeping an eye on how her on-screen daughter Maisie Smith (Tiffany Butcher) has been getting on in Albert Square.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “I’ve seen bits of what Maisie has been doing and she’s so brilliant.
“All of a sudden you go and you come back and she’s a woman. She’s so grown up and so beautiful.
“She’s such a great little actress.
“I’ve always said it’s a bit odd sometimes when major characters don’t return when it’s something that … you know.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Smith thought she was moving to Albert Square when she started on ‘EastEnders’.
The 17-year-old star was just six years old when she made her debut as Tiffany Butcher 11 years ago, and during her first day on set the youngster believed her family were moving to Walford in real life, until her mum eventually convinced her otherwise.
She said: “Apparently, this is what my mum told me, on my first day of being on set I looked at all the houses and said, ‘Mum, I don’t really want to live here.’
“I thought we were moving. And she said, ‘Oh, Mais, it’s not real.’
“But I had no idea. She had to really convince me that we weren’t actually moving to some random square in London.”
Despite being just six years old, Maisie admits she “had so much confidence” when she auditioned for the show, so much so she chucked her script onto a chair, which she believes stood her in good stead for portraying Tiffany.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: “I had so much confidence as I wasn’t 100 per cent sure what I was meant to be doing.
“I just knew that I had to learn some words – so when I went in there, I’d just memorised them.
“I just threw the script on the chair and said, ‘I don’t need that, I already know what I’m doing.’
“From that moment, I think they knew I was meant to be Tiff.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Wolfenden says Emmerdale’s grooming story had to be “upsetting, disturbing and cringey to watch” to be realistic.
The 39-year-old actor’s alter-ego David Metcalfe has been left devastated in recent weeks after discovering his girlfriend Maya Stepney – played by Louisa Clein – has been grooming his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), and Matthew insists the hard-hitting plot needed to be “gross”.
He said: “We couldn’t have played this out as being some sort of schoolboy sexual fantasy or titillation, it had to be gross it had to be upsetting, disturbing and cringey to watch.
“We have obviously seen paedophile storylines before with men and young girls and, because it was the other way around, people were grossed out by it – which was exactly what we wanted.
“We have had a lot of people say they can’t watch this storyline, that they are turning ‘Emmerdale’ off.
“But if we hadn’t had that reaction, we wouldn’t have done this storyline justice.”
Matthew admits both he and Joe-Warren were “shattered” from playing out numerous “really emotional” scenes.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “As an actor, you pull from different parts of your life and you put yourself in that position, it’s the only way you can get yourself in that space
“Me and Joe-Warren were just shattered, it was really emotional.”
As well as fans switching off the soap due to the hard-hitting scenes, Matthew and his eldest son Buster, nine, also found it tough.
The actor – who also has son Bowie, three, with his ‘Emmerdale’ co-star and wife Charley Webb (Debbie Dingle) – recently said: “We wanted to shock people. It was hard for me to watch.
“My eldest son is eight so it was a really hard watch.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux’s wife Nancy Strang thinks he’s going to “retire soon” – but he doesn’t want to.
The 49-year-old father-of-three – who has Albert, 14, Frederick, 11, and Walter, four, with the television director – has revealed his spouse is hoping he’ll stop making documentaries so he can spend more time with his family – but he has other plans.
He said: “Nancy thinks that (I will retire soon), and I don’t know that I have the heart to tell her that I don’t see it on the horizon.”
The ‘My Scientology Movie’ maker has also insisted that he will never work on something that makes his other half “uncomfortable”
He told Australia’s Who magazine: “Clearly, I’m not going to do anything that’s going to make my wife too uncomfortable.”
Louis recently admitted parenthood is harder than making his documentaries.
The TV icon finds being a dad stressful and sees making his shows as a break from the hard work at home.
He said: “There’s probably a handful of people who don’t struggle at all.
“But for the majority, it’s painful and difficult at best. At worst, it’s life-changing, difficult and traumatic.
“Neither my wife or myself needed psychiatric help but you become aware the normal experience of new parenthood is massively stressful.
“I’d run out of the house to work feeling like I’d escaped a burning building. Or go off to America for ten days or two weeks and think, ‘Wow — this is like a holiday’.
“After our second son was born, I was in Philadelphia doing a story on high crime areas and I remember thinking, ‘This is so much more relaxing! You get to sleep eight hours a night’.
“It wasn’t like I couldn’t wait to see the back of my family — it’s just that you get a break.”
Louis’ latest documentary was ‘Mothers On The Edge’, about women who suffer psychosis after giving birth.
Speaking about the project, he said: “I’ve got three kids with my wife, and I’m sort of aware of this weird doubling that takes place when you have children, especially when they’re very young, and how you feel under pressure, and you feel there’s a pressure to be the perfect parents, and to be enjoying every moment of it.
“And actually, a lot of it is to do with sleep deprivation and despair and not knowing what you’re doing, and it not being quite the Hallmark moment that it’s supposed to be.
“I thought, ‘This is that, taken to an extreme.’ And it feels, to me, to be a very important and relatable subject. And my hope was that the programme would sort of straddle the ups and the downs, the light and the shade… that it would reflect my own experience of being a new parent.
“And maybe, by opening more about how difficult it can often be, it can make those who are struggling feel less lonely.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dumped ‘Love Island’ star Joe Garratt hopes he still has a chance with Lucie Donlan outside of the villa.
The 22-year-old sandwich maker is still hopeful that the 21-year-old surfer who he was coupled up with before his exit from the ITV2 reality show on Tuesday (18.06.19) still wants to be with him and he hasn’t ruled out the “possibility” of returning to the show to see the blonde beauty.
He said: “I would love to get more time with Lucie in there.
“It is such an amazing experience and when you’re doing it with someone you care about its just perfect.
“I would never rule out the possibility of going back in. “I met somebody who I fell for so I have already won that in that sense.
“I would love to go back in and see her.
“I think that would be really nice and I think she would love that.”
And even if Lucie – who was previously partnered with boxer Tommy Fury, who is now coupled with influencer Molly-Mae Hague – gets couple up with another guy, which she has admitted she is open to, Joe says he will still have her back, although he is confident they will have a “future” after the show ends.
He added to The Sun Online: “I will always support Lucie, I had such a good time with her in there.
“I would love to think she can have experience in there and then we can have a future when she comes out. That is the dream.
“I will stay true to myself and wait to see how it all plays out and hopefully we can reunite and build a future.”
Joe also admitted he wouldn’t have survived in the villa without Lucie and would have probably quit the show, but he doesn’t want her to do that for him.
He continued: “I would have found it really hard without her in there so I would have left but I spoke to her and she is there for an experience as well.
“As I said, I will wait and hopefully we can reunite when she comes out. I don’t want her to quit.”
Joe expressing his loyalty to Lucie comes after he admitted he won’t apologise for making her cry in the villa.
More than 600 ‘Love Island’ viewers complained to Ofcom about his behaviour.
The hunk was dumped after the public voted him out, following hundreds of Ofcom complaints which were filed by viewers who claimed he was “controlling” his partner Lucie after he told her she should make friends with the other girls rather than the boys.
Joe said he was “gutted” viewers perceived his actions as abusive, and insisted he was only “trying to help her” because she was having “a hard time” on the show.
But Joe won’t apologise for his actions, as he is adamant he simply “worded things wrong” and never meant to hurt Lucie’s feelings.
He added: “I am not going to say sorry. I may have worded things wrong and the cameras are on you 24/7. I may have slipped up a bit but I am only human. I am young and inexperienced so maybe some things have come out differently to what they are. I just hope people can see me for who I genuinely am and what I genuinely am. I am not that person.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones and Neil Jones are putting off starting a family whilst they are still enjoying the show.
The BBC One ballroom and Latin show’s professional dancers have been married for six years and together for 10 but their union was rocked last year when the Russian dancer was pictured locking lips with comedian Seann Walsh after a night out drinking in a pub.
However, the couple have “moved on” from the drunken liaison that gripped the nation and are looking forward to the next series later this year.
Asked about making the decision to leave the show to have children, Katya, 30, said that for as long as she is “passionate” about dancing and has age on her side, she will hold off becoming a mum.
She told the Express.co.uk: “I love it so much, I get so passionate about it and I’d love to do it for as long as I can, as long as I have passion for it.
“And I do still have passion and so much more to give.
“And then, on the other side, you’re thinking, I just turned 30 and my body’s not gonna dance forever.”
And there is “no pressure” on the couple from their relatives to grow their family just yet.
The brunette beauty continued: “We have so much family around us — I have two nieces, Neil has eight nieces.
“No one’s pressuring us, which is nice.
“At the same time, we’ve got time.”
However, Neil says becoming a dad is definitely on the cards when the time is right.
The 37-year-old star said: “At the moment we’re just loving ‘Strictly’. “We’re loving everything we’re doing with it.
“Like Katya said, we’ve got so much family around us.
“We will have a family in the end but at the moment we’re just enjoying what we’re doing.”
The couple both agreed that they will block out any gossip about their relationship when the show returns to screens.
He said: “We know those things will always come up.”
Whilst Katya added: “The main thing is that we moved on.
“We know it doesn’t matter what’s said, it’s like yeah, it’s fine. It’ll all be fine and we’ll be happy with it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Sandler wants Jennifer Aniston to make a ‘Friends’ movie.
The 52-year-old actor considers the 90s American sitcom to be an entertainment “powerhouse” and he has urged Jennifer – who played Rachel Green in every season appearing opposite her co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – to “make a f***ing movie for everyone”.
Speaking to PEOPLE, he said: “‘Friends’ was a powerhouse.
“Everybody on ‘Friends’ is excellent, everybody likes them. America, the world, loves the cast. So for God’s sake, make a f***ing movie for everyone!”
Sandler and Aniston are starring alongside each other in new Netflix comedy film ‘Murder Mystery’, which sees the pair star as a New York police officer and his wife who become embroiled in a murder investigation on a billionaire’s yacht during a trip to Europe.
They previously starred together in 2011 rom-com ‘Just Go With It’.
Aniston, 50, recently excited ‘Friends’ fans everywhere when she recently suggested she and her former cast mates would all be up for getting the band back together, however, has since apologised for getting everyone’s hopes up when no project is in the pipeline.
She said: “Well, ‘no’ was getting me nowhere, and ‘maybe’ was getting me nowhere. So I thought I’d try ‘yes’. See what would happen. Sorry!”
Asked outright if a reunion could be on the cards, Aniston added: “Anything could happen. I have no idea though. There’s no plans in the immediate future.”
Her slight U-turn comes after Aniston – who played Rachel in 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 – originally said: “Why not? You know what, because, listen, I told you this. I would do it … The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure. Listen. Anything could happen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Netflix has won the rights to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new film ‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’ and Andrew Garfield is set to star.
The streaming service will screen the 39-year-old filmmaker’s latest movie – an adaptation of the stage musical written by ‘Rent’ scribe Jonathan Larson – and the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ star is top of the list for the lead role, although no deal has yet been made to secure his services, Variety reports.
‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’ tells the story of aspiring composer Jon who lives in 1990 New York City and is writing a musical called ‘SUPERBIA’ which he is hopeful will be a hit and give him his big break after he starts to question his career path.
While approaching his 30th birthday, Jon begins feeling pressure from his girlfriend Susan, who is tired of continuing to put her life on hold for Jon’s ambitions as well as his friend Michael who has given up on his creative aspirations and opted for a well-paid advertising job on Madison Avenue.
Steven Levenson – who penned ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ – is adapting the script based on the original the late Larson while Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Julie Oh of Imagine Entertainment are producing along with Miranda.
Julie Larson and Levenson are executive producing.
‘Hamilton ‘ creator Lin-Manuel has had a busy year with production starting on the big-screen adaptation of his musical ‘In The Heights’.
The film is set over the course of three days, involving various characters in the largely Hispanic-American neighbourhood of Washington Heights in New York City.
Jon M. Chu will helm the project and Marc Klein will adapt the screenplay from Quiara Alegría Hudes musical book.
Daphne Rubin-Vega, 49, will play the outrageously dramatic owner of the salon where the neighbourhood girls come to gossip while Stephanie, 38, will play an employee of Daniela’s salon along with her best friend Vanessa (Melissa Barrera) the latter being the love interest of main character Usnavi (Anthony Ramos).

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will be re-released with extra footage.
Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige has revealed that the smash hit Marvel Cinematic Universe film – which wrapped up 22 films and 11 franchises – will once again be shown on cinema screens with scenes that weren’t included in the first theatrical release.
The original movie clocked in at 181 minutes, however, it’s yet to be determined how long the new film will be.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, Feige said: “We are doing that. I don’t know if it’s been announced. And I don’t know how much … Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend.”
‘Avengers: Endgame’ was a global box office success amassing $2.743 billion since its release at the end of April and the movie has won big at various awards shows, including the recent MTV Movie & TV Awards where it scooped up three prizes.
The Marvel Studios motion picture won the coveted Best Movie gong, as well as Best Villain for Josh Brolin’s performance as Thanos and Robert Downey Jr. triumphed in the Best Hero category for his portrayal of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
Speaking about the hat-trick of wins, co-director Anthony Russo said: “It’s amazing. I mean, look, the MTV audience is so passionate, and to see the movie embraced, to see the movie celebrated, it’s a very special feeling. There’s so many people who have worked so long, and so hard to bring this to the screen and do justice to the story, and it kinda feels like we might of.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Partridge is to star in ‘Cabaret’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor will portray the role of Emcee in the hit musical – which features catchy tunes such as ‘Money Makes the World Go Round’ and ‘Two Ladies’ – as the show embarks on a new tour from August 28th.
John will first head to Bromley to take on the Master of Ceremonies role, and the musical tour will also travel to Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Chester and Aberdeen among other areas.
The show is choreographed by Javier de Frutos, with Rufus Norris staging the musical.
John is known for portraying Christian Clarke on the BBC One soap from 2008 to 2012, and 2014 to 2016, and he can also cook up a storm after scooping the ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ crown last year.
Following his triumph, the 47-year-old star admitted his late mother Bridget, who passed away on 13 April 2017 after living with Alzheimer’s disease for seven years, was “an angel” on his shoulder during the show’s final.
He said: “It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. My mum passed away on April 13th 2017 and I won ‘MasterChef’ on April 13th 2018 … so when I went in for that final cook, I definitely had an angel on my shoulder.
“You know I took her wooden spoon with me, I know she was there, she was stirring that custard.”
John quit his job on ‘EastEnders’ to look after Bridget, and he went on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2016 to get the money to pay for her to have professional care when her condition worsened.

OHMYGOSSIP — Christie Whelan Browne has joined ‘Neighbours’.
The 36-year-old star is to appear on the Channel 5 soap in a guest role as character Scarlett, after the ‘Wrong Girl’ actress auditioned for the show “a couple of times in the past” without any success.
A tweet on the ‘Neighbours’ Twitter account read: “We’d like to welcome Christie Whelan Browne to Erinsborough. Keep your eyes peeled for the drama she’s about to bring. (sic)”
Christie announced her new role by hitting back at an immigration officer who had previously scoffed at her because she hadn’t been on ‘Neighbours’.
She wrote on Instagram: “Once when I went through Customs the Immigration Officer looked at my form and said ‘Actress, huh?’ with a raised brow.
‘Yep’.
‘Oh really? *scoff* You ever been on @neighbours ?’
‘…No’
‘Hahahahaha, yeah no, see all actors in Australia have been on Neighbours’.
Well suck on this, Graham. Coming to your screens Sept 2019. (sic)”
Christie felt “surreal” during her first day on set sitting opposite soap legend Jackie Woodburne, who has played Susan Kennedy since 1994.
She said: “It’s so surreal. Sitting at my first read-through and Susan Kennedy is sitting opposite me saying lines – it was nostalgia and excitement rolled into one.
“My younger self would never have believed I’d be on this show. It’s pretty awesome.”
The ‘Spin Out’ star admits her character is “very complex” and will “go to extreme lengths to get what she wants”.
Christie added to TV Week: “She has a clear agenda when it comes to one of the male characters and she goes to extreme lengths to get what she wants.
“She’s had her own pain and struggles, so while sometimes her actions will leave viewers shaking their heads, hopefully they can have sympathy for her too.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Vee wants a role in ‘Coronation Street’ or ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ actor, who is 3ft 8ins, believes he could do a job in the ITV soap or in Albert Square, admitting there aren’t many “small people” in such shows.
He said: “You don’t see many small people in ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’. At the minute, Corrie has a battle going on with a family over money.”
And Jimmy – who plays R2-D2 in the sci-fi film franchise after taking over from the late Kenny Baker – has saved the ‘Corrie’ script writers a job by coming up with his own role.
He said: “What’s to stop the likes of me coming in as the lender demanding my money back? I don’t need to be 6ft 10in.”
Jimmy – who plays Arthur in new Sir Elton John movie ‘Rocketman’ – believes he can try his hand at any part, he just needs the “faith” of a director.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “No matter what size, what height you are, you can play a role.
“It’s just getting a director to put faith in you.”
Jimmy was named as the new R2-D2 in February 2017 following Kenny’s death in August 2016 aged 81.
Announcing the news, the ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ star said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to have worked alongside the legendary Kenny Baker. Kenny was a fantastic actor and taught me all the tricks on how he brought R2-D2 to life, which I will continue to portray in his honour.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the ‘Star Wars’ universe and can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working so hard on for the last year.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV bosses are planning to launch ‘Winter Love Island’.
Producers have been delighted with how well ‘Love Island’ has performed in the ratings this year so are keen to capitalise on its success by shooting a second series in South Africa to air during the colder months.
According to insiders, bosses made the decision after ‘Survival of the Fittest’ – a battle-of-the-sexes competition where contestants lived in a luxury lodge, also in South Africa – failed to live up to expectations so opted to axe the show and stick with the popular format instead, knowing a post Christmas slot would be popular as it would fill the demand left by Channel 5’s decision to drop ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “After the flop of Survival of the Fittest producers want to keep the format simple and mop up the gaping hole ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ left reality TV hungry audiences.
“‘Winter Love Island’ makes sense as fans adore the drama and love triangles and everyone wants to enjoy a bit of sun on screens in the cold winter months.
“It’s still in the very early stages and casting isn’t even close, but producers at ITV Studios and crew are definitely gearing up for it.”
As well as proving to be a hit in the ratings, the ITV2 show has also generated a reported £25 million in advertising and an additional £5 million for Uber Eats’ sponsorship, so a winter series – which would air in the new year – would likely be as much of a money-spinner for the broadcaster.
Channel boss Carolyn McCall has previously said: “‘Love Island’ is a phenomenon … that will be commercially fantastic for ITV.”
It isn’t yet clear if Caroline Flack would also host the spin-off series.
