Himesh Patel open to EastEnders comeback if Masood family returned

OHMYGOSSIP — Himesh Patel would be open to an ‘EastEnders’ comeback if his character’s original family all returned at the same time.
The ‘Yesterday’ actor played Tamwar Masood from 2007 to 2016 on the BBC One soap, and he has admitted he would “hypothetically” be keen to star alongside his alter-ego’s brood again if show bosses brought them back and made them the main storyline for a week.
When asked what plot might tempt him back to Walford, he told Metro.co.uk: “If we all came back, the family who originally joined in 2007.
“If we came back and we were the main storyline for a week.
“I am not saying I would definitely be happy to do it. But hypothetically speaking, yes.”
Tamwar was last talked about on screen earlier this year when he rang Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) to ask for his permission to pop the question to his girlfriend Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill).
While viewers saw Mick’s reaction to the conversation, neither Tamwar nor Nancy’s voices were heard on screen.
Himesh’s comments come just a month after Marc Elliott, who played Tamwar’s brother Syed Masood, admitted he would’ve returned to ‘EastEnders’ if the soap’s bosses had a wedding for his on-screen brother in Australia.
Marc said: “Oh, I’m sure Syed would love to have gone – Marc would have, too.
“I’d have said yes to [a return] for that.”
But Marc would’ve preferred it if Tamwar and Nancy tied the knot in the Maldives or the Caribbean.
He added: “Although, why couldn’t Tamwar have hosted his wedding in the Caribbean, Bali or the Maldives? That would have been much better, right?”
Himesh’s comments come after his on-screen father Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed) departed the show in February.
But he later admitted Masood is not finished on Albert Square.
He said: “I love playing Masood and the door was left open.
“I miss playing that character, so I’m waiting for the next producer to come along and seduce me back.
“I don’t think we’re finished with that character. He is yet to find his wings. I want him to have big storylines, we never really did that. I want Masood to own the Vic.”
The original Masood family also included Zainab Masood – played by Nina Wadia – and Shabnam Masood, who was portrayed by Zahra Ahmadi in 2007, and she was later replaced by Rakhee Thakrar in 2014.

Maura Higgins could miss sister’s wedding during ‘Love Island’ stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Maura Higgins could miss her sister’s wedding during her stint on ‘Love Island’.
The 28-year-old model has shaken up the villa since she walked in last week, and now the brunette beauty may reportedly not be attending her sibling Louise’s nuptials in Ireland because of starring on the ITV2 show in Majorca, despite the wedding being planned “over a year ago”.
A source told The Sun Online: “Louise got engaged in 2016 and the wedding was planned over a year ago. So Maura would have known that when she applied for Love Island.
“But Maura and Louise are very close and her sister fully supports her decision to go on Love Island. In fact she’s happy for Maura and is delighted she’s been given an amazing opportunity to find love and further her career.”
Maura has had one long-term relationship of nine years with her ex-fiance James Finnegan – who split with the star in 2017 – and it has been revealed he has been invited to the wedding.
The insider added: “James will be at that wedding too cause he’s good friends with Louise’s fiance. To be fair they were set to be brothers-in-law.
“It was a tough decision for Maura and no doubt she’ll be gutted not to be there.
“But her family will be rooting for her either way and want her to make it through to the Love Island final.”
This news comes as Maura admitted that Danny Williams has caught her eye on Thursday’s (20.06.19) episode of ‘Love Island’.
The 28-year-old model shocked the other Islanders on this week when she admitted she wasn’t feeling a connection with newcomer Tom Walker – who has made it clear he fancies her – but the brunette beauty could still set her sights on 21-year-old hunk Danny, even though he is coupled up with Yewande Biala.
Speaking with Molly-Mae Hague and Lucie Donlan on the terrace, she said: “It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Yewande and Danny. He is a really nice guy. I have such a laugh with Danny. He has got good craic.”

Halloween sequel set for release in 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — A new ‘Halloween’ sequel will be released in 2020.
Jamie Lee Curtis reprised her role as Laurie Strode in the 2018 instalment in the slasher series with that film banking over $255 million at the worldwide box office and now Universal and Blumhouse are gearing up for another chapter in the franchise with Curtis set to battle psychopathic serial killer Michael Myers once again.
According to Collider, production is planned to begin this autumn with an October 2020 release date and while the plot remains unknown it’s likely some version of Michael Myers will return despite his death in the last film.
David Gordon Green – who co-wrote and directed the 2018 film – will return to work on the sequel and Danny McBride, who helped pen the script for the last film, is also expected to return.
Curtis, 60, met up with producer Jason Blum earlier this month and with the 50-year-old movie mogul posting an image of the pair together on his Twitter account captioned “we’re discussing stuff”.
Following the release and positive reception to 2018’s ‘Halloween’ Curtis admitted she’d be “happy” to return as Stroude – whom she first played in John Carpenter’s 1978 ‘Halloween’, a role which made her Hollywood’s go-to ‘scream queen’.
She said: “I would make an assumption that, if David Gordon Green has a story to tell, that the people involved with the movie would encourage him to tell it … I’d be happy to do it, sure. This was an extraordinary experience. David was a fantastic director, writer, but obviously this 2018, 40th anniversary, was Laurie’s story, and obviously there are now other people’s stories that would need to get told.
“But Laurie’s story was told beautifully this year, and I would have no way of knowing how they would incorporate her into future.”

Harriet Dyer on board for The Invisible Man reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Harriet Dyer is set to star in ‘The Invisible Man’ reboot.
The 31-year-old actress – who is best known for her roles as Cassie Bedford on NBC series ‘The InBetween’ and Patricia Saunders in Australian drama show ‘Love Child’ – is on board for an unknown part in the remake of Universal’s 1933 movie, which is based on the novel of the same name by H. G. Wells.
Elisabeth Moss will also star in the project and is believed to be playing Flora Cranley, the love interest of the character Dr. Jack Griffin who becomes invisible after a series of scientific tests.
Aldis Hodge and Storm Reid will also star in the project.
Details of the project are being kept under wraps for now but it is known that Leigh Whannell – who helmed ‘Upgrade’ and ‘Saw’ – is directing the project which is part of Universal’s ‘Dark Universe’ collection of films. The shared universe was kicked off by 2017’s ‘The Mummy’.
Johnny Depp was originally due to play Dr. Griffin, but the movie is pushing forward without the 55-year-old star’s involvement.
The film has suffered from major setbacks after Ed Solomon stepped down from writing the reboot last year due to creative differences with the studio.
Universal Studios made its name with the Universal Monsters movies which began in the 1920s with Lon Chaney’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. The creature features continued to be popular with audiences for the next three decades with ‘Dracula’, ‘Frankenstein’, ‘The Mummy’, ‘The Wolf Man’ and ‘Creature from the Black Lagoon’ all being major hits whilst making household names of Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. and Boris Karloff.
The ‘Dark Universe’ was due to continue with a ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ remake with Angelina Jolie in the title role but that project was put on hold after Alex Kurtzman – who helmed and co-wrote the Tom Cruise led reboot of ‘The Mummy’, which was the starting point for the connected series of movies – and co-producer Chris Morgan stepped away from the entire multiverse.
‘The Invisible Man’ is now the next film in the series.

James Corden ‘nervous’ ahead of Gavin and Stacey return

OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden is “sick with nerves” ahead of filming the ‘Gavin and Stacey’ Christmas special.
The ‘Late Late Show’ host revealed he and his writing partner and co-star Ruth Jones – who return as Smithy and Nessa Jenkins in the sitcom alongside Mathew Horne and Joanna Page in the title roles – are getting anxious ahead of their first run-through of the script next week.
According to The Sun Online, James told the audience at the filming of his London special of his hit US show on Thursday (20.06.19): “This is it now, we go on another break and I’m going to start this on Monday morning – this new ‘Gavin and Stacey’ Special.
“Or as me and Ruth Jones say, ‘We start this new Gavin and [throwing up noise]’, just out of nerves.”
‘Gavin and Stacey’ will return to screens this festive period for the first time in nine years.
James and Ruth had been trading ideas for two years but only decided to go ahead with the one-off episode a few months ago when they found a story to tell, even though they had reservations about resurrecting the programme after nine years off screen.
James said recently: “We owed it to the characters. Let’s see what they’re doing.
“We wanted to see if there was something there, and for a while we weren’t sure. Then, once there was, my feeling was, life’s too short. Fear is the absolute reason to do it.
“This sounds ridiculously deep, but none of us are promised tomorrow. We’re here for a minute, so you have to try to do it all. I’d rather regret something than not do it.”
Though plot details of the special are being kept under wraps, the 40-year-old star promised it will be a “nostalgic joy-bomb”.
Asked if there will be any discussion on Brexit during the episode, he replied: “We did talk about it. But we just want the new show to be a nostalgic joy-bomb.”
The ‘Ocean’s Eight’ actor admitted his friendship with Ruth is very important to him.
Explaining how they have recently talked about nothing but work, he added: “And then she sent a text. It said, ‘James… I love you.’ And I said, ‘I love you too. You are the best friend I could ask for. You’ve anchored me in so many moments of my life. I’ve loved every second of this rebirth, even the stress.’ And she put, ‘OK, now I’m crying.’ It’s a lovely thing.”

Joe Garratt: I didn’t abuse Lucie Donlan

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Garratt has insisted he “didn’t manipulate or abuse” Lucie Donlan after almost 800 ‘Love Island’ viewers complained to Ofcom about his behaviour.
The 22-year-old sandwich maker was dumped from the ITV2 reality show on Tuesday (18.06.19) after the public voted him out of the villa, following hundreds of Ofcom complaints which were filed by viewers who claimed he was “controlling” his partner Lucie after he told her she should make friends with the other girls rather than the boys.
And since leaving the villa, Joe says he’s “gutted” viewers perceived his actions as abusive, and insists he was only “trying to help her” because she was having “a hard time” on the show.
He said: “I didn’t manipulate or abuse her. I am gutted that it has been perceived in that way because it wasn’t like that at all.
“I always had Lucie’s best interests at heart and I promise you I would do everything and anything to help her because she had a hard time in there and didn’t get on with the girls. I was trying to help her and make her experience as amazing as possible. I thought I did right.”
But Joe won’t apologise for his actions, as he is adamant he simply “worded things wrong” and never meant to hurt Lucie’s feelings.
He added: “I am not going to say sorry. I may have worded things wrong and the cameras are on you 24/7. I may have slipped up a bit but I am only human. I am young and inexperienced so maybe some things have come out differently to what they are. I just hope people can see me for who I genuinely am and what I genuinely am. I am not that person.”
The hunk believes the “intense nature” of the show is to blame for twisting the way things looked from the outside.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “For me I was gutted. I had literally met a girl straight away and she blew me away. She is an amazing person.
“It’s hard because on the outside the relationship would build and you would talk frequently and meet once a week and it was like I had these two days with her and they were so fantastic and we got on so well and then you have the spanner chucked in.
“I think the intense nature of it all and when fellow Islanders said stuff to me – it would never bother me normally – but because you are in there and you get told things constantly you are like ‘am I OK with these things’ and I generally was but you feel that heightened pressure and you have these conversations and you have to address things.”
Joe’s original comments left Lucie in tears after he suggested she spend more time with the other girls in the villa.
Speaking about her friendship with Tommy Fury, Joe said to her: “I’m not happy with it. It’s strange. I think it’s time for you to get close with the girls.”

Catherine Tyldesley set for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley is set to compete on the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress is in advance talks with producers about appearing on the upcoming season of the celebrity dancing contest and has even had a pairing test with one of the show’s professionals.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Catherine loves the glitz and glamour of the show.
“Producers think she’ll be a great signing because of her strong fan following and her bubbly personality. They can see her going far in the competition.”
But while producers may be confident about the 35-year-old actress’ chances of success on the show, Catherine – who has son Alfie, four, with husband Tom Pitford – recently admitted she doesn’t think she’d do very well if she was ever asked to appear.
She said: “I adore Strictly — it’s one of my favourite ever shows. I would genuinely love to learn to dance, because I can’t dance.”
It was recently claimed ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ star Michelle Visage is also in line for a place on the show.
A source recently said: “This is a very strategic signing from the BBC as Michelle has a huge following, especially in the gay community.”
Michelle is also known for her no-holds-barred comments on ‘Drag Race’ and it is hoped she will provide some great TV moments by firing back at any judges who criticise her steps on the show.
The source added: “Since she is known as the fiery judge on ‘Drag Race’ producers are pre-empting her clapping back at any of the harsh comments from the ‘Strictly’ panel which will make great TV.”
Other rumoured contestants include Tamara Ecclestone, Olympic gold medal winning rower James Cracknell and Virgin Radio DJ Chris Evans.
Comedian Alan Carr and Welsh newsreader Huw Edwards have also reportedly been approached by the BBC for this year’s series.

Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff sign up for 2nd Top Gear series

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff have signed up to co-host their second series of ‘Top Gear’.
The pair and fellow presenter Chris Harris will begin work on their second instalment of the BBC motoring show next month, after programme bosses were left “really pleased” with the trio.
A show source said: “The minute the trio started filming bosses saw the spark between them.
“They’re really pleased with how it’s started and with all the footage they’ve already got in the can for series one.”
While only one episode of the trio’s ‘Top Gear’ stint has aired on the BBC so far, the presenting triple threat are already preparing for “bigger challenges” in their second series.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “They have been warmly received by viewers, too. Ratings are up on last year, which is a good sign.
“Now Freddie and Paddy have got their feet under the table, the ante will be upped for series two.
“They’re going to go for bolder locations and bigger challenges. This should bring great scenes and laughs for the audience.”
The 27th ‘Top Gear’ season got underway on Sunday (16.06.19) and beforehand, Paddy admitted the new-look team already felt like they had been together for “a few series”.
He said: “With us, I was so pleased that we all clicked straight away.
“It [feels] like we kind of already did a few series, which I was really pleased about, because that was a worry you know, do you get on do you not? But we all do.”

Liam Fox went on ‘online dating rampage’ after Nicole Barber-Lane split

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Fox went on an “online dating rampage” when he split from Nicole Barber-Lane.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star and the ‘Hollyoaks’ actress were married from 1999 to 2015, and after they went their separate ways the 49-year-old actor created a Tinder account in an attempt to find new love because he didn’t want to sit at home “feeling sorry for [himself]”.
He said: “I went on an online dating rampage!
“I was on Tinder and eHarmony. I’ve dated all sorts of women and I have some great stories to share but I’d better not tell in case they read this.
“I didn’t want to sit at home feeling sorry for myself after my split from Nicole.
“I was a serial monogamist from the moment I met her in my early twenties so needed time to figure out who I was and what I wanted from a relationship.”
But Liam – who plays Dan Spencer on the ITV soap – only needed to look closer to home as he ended up dating his pal Joanna Hudson, who he studied with at university in the 1990s before losing contact.
The couple are now engaged, and Liam joked the could’ve been married “for 26 years” if they had hooked up at uni.
He added to OK! Online: “It’s funny to think we could have been married for 26 years by now if we’d got our act together all those years ago.”
Joanna recently opened up about being “weeks away from death” when she was diagnosed with rare autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis in 2015.
She said: “I was seriously ill in 2015 and nearly lost my life, which makes me appreciate what I have with Liam even more.
“I nearly died from a tumour; when it was discovered, I was weeks away from death.
“I realised something was wrong when I started getting double vision so I went to Specsavers who gave me glasses, but that didn’t help.
“I was eventually referred to a consultant and was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis.
“The consultant gave me a scan, which discovered I had a tumour caused by the illness growing on my thymus gland [near the heart], which would’ve killed me if it wasn’t discovered. I had it removed and three months later I was fully recovered!”

Tristan Gemmill lands post-Corrie panto role

OHMYGOSSIP — Tristan Gemmill has landed his first post-‘Coronation Street’ role in pantomime ‘Peter Pan’.
The cobbles star will leave his Weatherfield role as Robert Preston later this year, and he has signed up to star as Captain Hook in the production at the Swansea Grand Theatre in Wales.
Tristan wrote on Twitter: “People of #Swansea – I am coming to throw sweets at your children. Get your tickets now! (sic)”
He shared a tweet from the theatre which revealed 2014 ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ semi-finalist Ricky K will take on the role of Starkey, and Kev Johns will portray Mrs Smee.
But things aren’t going so well for Tristan’s character Robert, who has got his ex Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn) pregnant, despite getting back with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) – and the actor admits things are going to come “crashing down” for him soon.
When asked what is in store for Robert, he said: “I think a very tricky period of spinning two plates at the same time, without one plate finding out about another plate’s existence … which is going to be a very tricky prospect and sooner or later, they’re going to come crashing down!”
But Tristan has insisted he doesn’t have the same character traits as Robert.
He said: “Only that we have the same head. I think Robert tries to please people and doesn’t like hurting their feelings … so there’s probably an echo of that in me.
“He’s pretty much a good guy, but he makes bad decisions. I would like to think I make better life decisions than he does.”

Emily Atack takes fertility tests on new TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack has taken fertility tests over fears she won’t be able to have any children.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star – who is currently dating film producer Rob Jowers – turns 30 later this year, and she has undergone the tests for new TV series ‘Emily Atack: Adulting’ because she was worried she might leave it too late to have a baby.
Speaking in a clip from the programme, she said: “I have been worrying about my fertility.
“My whole life I have assumed if I met someone I could have babies straight away, but what if I can’t?
“I have got to be honest, if they come back and say something is wrong I will be absolutely devastated.”
Emily is concerned she could get to her early 30s without being in a position to think about starting a family.
She explained: “I’m worrying that I’ll get to 32, still not anywhere close to having kids. So is 29 the kind of age you should start thinking about it when I still feel like a baby now?
“I used to look at my Grandma Betty when she was alive and think, God, she’s surrounded with all of us, she’s got so many grandkids, so many kids.
“That’s what I want. I don’t want to be a lonely old person, I want to be surrounded with family.”
Emily recently revealed her upcoming show will explore her concerns over having kids, as well as other issues such dating and body image.
She said: “They’re subjects that crop up for me which I find the most difficult. I worry about having babies, like most women do, plus body insecurities. Am I too fat? Why am I so needy with men?
“I feel like I’m in limbo as I approach 30. We’re taught about how hard puberty and the menopause will be, but not this particular age.
“I’m not engaged yet and I don’t have the two dogs and a nice house. Am I doing life wrong? I really beat myself up about it. This series is a humorous look at that.”

Cold Feet returning for 9th series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Cold Feet’ will return for a ninth series.
The popular ITV comedy drama has been commissioned for another run with James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, John Thomson, Fay Ripley and Robert Bathurst all set to reprise their roles.
The channel’s head of drama Polly Hill said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Manchester for more of ‘Cold Feet’.
“The audience reaction to the last series was incredible with many saying it’s getting better with age.
“We’re pleased to be working again with Mike Bullen, whose moving, funny, complex and absorbing scripts are a joy to commission.”
Writer Mike admitted he’s already gone from a feeling of excitement to “trepidation at the weight of expectation”.
He added: “I think we were all overwhelmed by the amazing response to the latest series. Jenny’s cancer in particular seemed to touch a nerve with viewers.
“There are still stories to tell for these characters but I’m conscious that we’ve raised the bar. The delight at being recommissioned has already been replaced by trepidation at the weight of expectation.”
The cast are to film in Manchester later this year, with a new series of six episodes set to air in 2020.
Big Talk North’s CEO Kenton Allen said: “As I keep telling myself, 50 is the new 30, so we’re delighted to be able to continue to tell the stories of these much loved characters, who many of us have grown up with – and we’re delighted to be shooting again in Manchester and growing Big Talk North’s drama output with ‘Cold Feet’ as our flagship show.”
The programme first aired 22 years ago and ran for five seasons during its initial run, before returning in 2016 after a 13-year break.
For the eighth series, a weekly audience of almost four million people tuned in.

James Lock hoping for Royal Ascot syndicate success

OHMYGOSSIP — James Lock is hoping he can fulfil a boyhood dream by becoming a Royal Ascot winning owner this weekend.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is part of a syndicate which owns racehorse Keystroke, who will take part in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes – which has a total prize money fund of £600,000 – on Saturday (22.06.19) at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
He said: “It will be a dream come true! I grew up watching horse racing as a little boy, but never once thought I’d end up owning a horse that could end up winning a big race at Royal Ascot.
“I love everything about Royal Ascot, it’s a great day out where everyone dresses up and enjoys the racing. I can’t wait to be there on Saturday to cheer on Keystroke.”
James – who is also known as Lockie – admits it is a “special feeling” when his horse wins a race, and he has encouraged others to get involved in owning a racehorse.
Speaking at a visit to Stuart Williams’ yard in Newmarket to check in on Keystroke’s final preparations ahead of the big race, he added: “Owning a racehorse is brilliant.
“It takes you to places you could only imagine of going and adds to the excitement of what is already a great day out.
“Especially being in a syndicate with my mates, it’s a special feeling when your horse wins. I would encourage anyone to get into ownership, if I can do it, anyone can.”
Speaking about Keystroke’s chances on Saturday, Stuart said: “I’m very happy with him. We’ve had a very good preparation and we’ve got Adam Kirby on board again. I’m very hopeful Ascot will suit him.
“It’s great to be going to Royal Ascot with a horse like Keystroke, in a race against some of the best sprinters in the world. It’s a tough task but he’s very well in himself and we’re all very much looking forward to it.”
Keystroke is a 33/1 shot for the race, but the horse has previously overcome its odds in the Abernat Stakes at Newmarket back in April, where he stormed to victory at a huge price of 66/1.
James who is one of eight involved in the syndicate, which is managed by GG Thoroughbreds.

David Walliams to star in Cinderella comedy for Sky One

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams and Sian Gibson are to star in ‘Cinderella: After Ever After’.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge will take on the role of Prince Charming in the Sky One original comedy, alongside ‘Car Share’ star Sian as the titular character, as well as British acting legends Celia Imrie and Sir Tom Courtenay.
David – whose production company King Bert Productions are behind the show – said: “When you read a story to a child and it ends ‘they lived happily ever after’ the child often asks what happened next?
“Now, for the first time in history, we will reveal what happened next for Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Wicked Stepmother.
“What happened, ‘After Ever After?’
“We have assembled a magnificent cast and crew for this one-off family comedy film. It promises to be a real treat for TV viewers this Christmas. I want to say a huge thank you to Sky for making it possible.”
The comedy will begin where the famous fairy tale left off with Cinderella having just married Prince Charming.
However, all is not as good as it seems for Cinders due to her image-obsessed, floss-dancing hubby.
The festive show will see Cinderella trying to save The King (Tom) from her evil stepmother Madame Blackheart (Celia) and her calculated stepsisters Dumbella and Rubella.
Jo Sargent, executive producer of King Bert Productions, said: “We are delighted to bring this reincarnation of a classic fairy-tale to life for Sky One at Christmas and to finally answer the question that children have pestered their parents with for generations, ‘But what happened after ever after?’ ”

Keanu Reeves approached by Marvel for ‘almost every film’

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves has held talks with Marvel for “almost every film [they] make”.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed his team are keen to sign the ‘John Wick’ star up to a movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and despite holding multiple discussions with the 54-year-old star, they are yet to find the right motion picture for him.
He told ComicBook.com: “We talk to him for almost every film we make.
“We talk to Keanu Reeves about … I don’t know, when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”
Feige also revealed Marvel spoke to Jake Gyllenhaal “multiple times” about starring in one of their projects, before he signed up for forthcoming film ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ to play Mysterio.
Reeves is expected to make his long-awaited Marvel debut in ‘The Eternals’ after the ‘Toy Story 4’ actor was linked to the movie earlier this month.
The ‘Speed’ actor was reported to be still in negotiations for an unknown role in the blockbuster, which is due to start production at the end of the summer, alongside the likes of Richard Madden.
The film, which is being helmed by Chloe Zhao, is based on the 1976 Marvel comics by Jack Kirby about fictional species The Eternals, who are offshoots of the evolutionary process.
They were intended to be the Earth’s defenders, which sees them do battle with the Deviants.
Angelina Jolie and Ma Dong-Seok are also said to have joined the cast, but their reported roles are being kept under wraps.
Feige is to produce the motion picture, which will be penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
