John Partridge lands Cabaret role

OHMYGOSSIP — John Partridge is to star in ‘Cabaret’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor will portray the role of Emcee in the hit musical – which features catchy tunes such as ‘Money Makes the World Go Round’ and ‘Two Ladies’ – as the show embarks on a new tour from August 28th.
John will first head to Bromley to take on the Master of Ceremonies role, and the musical tour will also travel to Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Chester and Aberdeen among other areas.
The show is choreographed by Javier de Frutos, with Rufus Norris staging the musical.
John is known for portraying Christian Clarke on the BBC One soap from 2008 to 2012, and 2014 to 2016, and he can also cook up a storm after scooping the ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ crown last year.
Following his triumph, the 47-year-old star admitted his late mother Bridget, who passed away on 13 April 2017 after living with Alzheimer’s disease for seven years, was “an angel” on his shoulder during the show’s final.
He said: “It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. My mum passed away on April 13th 2017 and I won ‘MasterChef’ on April 13th 2018 … so when I went in for that final cook, I definitely had an angel on my shoulder.
“You know I took her wooden spoon with me, I know she was there, she was stirring that custard.”
John quit his job on ‘EastEnders’ to look after Bridget, and he went on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2016 to get the money to pay for her to have professional care when her condition worsened.

Christie Whelan Browne joins Neighbours

OHMYGOSSIP — Christie Whelan Browne has joined ‘Neighbours’.
The 36-year-old star is to appear on the Channel 5 soap in a guest role as character Scarlett, after the ‘Wrong Girl’ actress auditioned for the show “a couple of times in the past” without any success.
A tweet on the ‘Neighbours’ Twitter account read: “We’d like to welcome Christie Whelan Browne to Erinsborough. Keep your eyes peeled for the drama she’s about to bring. (sic)”
Christie announced her new role by hitting back at an immigration officer who had previously scoffed at her because she hadn’t been on ‘Neighbours’.
She wrote on Instagram: “Once when I went through Customs the Immigration Officer looked at my form and said ‘Actress, huh?’ with a raised brow.
‘Yep’.
‘Oh really? *scoff* You ever been on @neighbours ?’
‘…No’
‘Hahahahaha, yeah no, see all actors in Australia have been on Neighbours’.
Well suck on this, Graham. Coming to your screens Sept 2019. (sic)”
Christie felt “surreal” during her first day on set sitting opposite soap legend Jackie Woodburne, who has played Susan Kennedy since 1994.
She said: “It’s so surreal. Sitting at my first read-through and Susan Kennedy is sitting opposite me saying lines – it was nostalgia and excitement rolled into one.
“My younger self would never have believed I’d be on this show. It’s pretty awesome.”
The ‘Spin Out’ star admits her character is “very complex” and will “go to extreme lengths to get what she wants”.
Christie added to TV Week: “She has a clear agenda when it comes to one of the male characters and she goes to extreme lengths to get what she wants.
“She’s had her own pain and struggles, so while sometimes her actions will leave viewers shaking their heads, hopefully they can have sympathy for her too.”

Jimmy Vee wants Coronation Street role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Vee wants a role in ‘Coronation Street’ or ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ actor, who is 3ft 8ins, believes he could do a job in the ITV soap or in Albert Square, admitting there aren’t many “small people” in such shows.
He said: “You don’t see many small people in ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’. At the minute, Corrie has a battle going on with a family over money.”
And Jimmy – who plays R2-D2 in the sci-fi film franchise after taking over from the late Kenny Baker – has saved the ‘Corrie’ script writers a job by coming up with his own role.
He said: “What’s to stop the likes of me coming in as the lender demanding my money back? I don’t need to be 6ft 10in.”
Jimmy – who plays Arthur in new Sir Elton John movie ‘Rocketman’ – believes he can try his hand at any part, he just needs the “faith” of a director.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “No matter what size, what height you are, you can play a role.
“It’s just getting a director to put faith in you.”
Jimmy was named as the new R2-D2 in February 2017 following Kenny’s death in August 2016 aged 81.
Announcing the news, the ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ star said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to have worked alongside the legendary Kenny Baker. Kenny was a fantastic actor and taught me all the tricks on how he brought R2-D2 to life, which I will continue to portray in his honour.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the ‘Star Wars’ universe and can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working so hard on for the last year.”

ITV plan Winter Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV bosses are planning to launch ‘Winter Love Island’.
Producers have been delighted with how well ‘Love Island’ has performed in the ratings this year so are keen to capitalise on its success by shooting a second series in South Africa to air during the colder months.
According to insiders, bosses made the decision after ‘Survival of the Fittest’ – a battle-of-the-sexes competition where contestants lived in a luxury lodge, also in South Africa – failed to live up to expectations so opted to axe the show and stick with the popular format instead, knowing a post Christmas slot would be popular as it would fill the demand left by Channel 5’s decision to drop ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “After the flop of Survival of the Fittest producers want to keep the format simple and mop up the gaping hole ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ left reality TV hungry audiences.
“‘Winter Love Island’ makes sense as fans adore the drama and love triangles and everyone wants to enjoy a bit of sun on screens in the cold winter months.
“It’s still in the very early stages and casting isn’t even close, but producers at ITV Studios and crew are definitely gearing up for it.”
As well as proving to be a hit in the ratings, the ITV2 show has also generated a reported £25 million in advertising and an additional £5 million for Uber Eats’ sponsorship, so a winter series – which would air in the new year – would likely be as much of a money-spinner for the broadcaster.
Channel boss Carolyn McCall has previously said: “‘Love Island’ is a phenomenon … that will be commercially fantastic for ITV.”
It isn’t yet clear if Caroline Flack would also host the spin-off series.

Sam Thompson apologises for past tweets

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Thompson has apologised for past homophobic tweets.
The 26-year-old reality star repeatedly called friends and other Twitter users “gay” as an insult in posts from 2013 – the year he first joined ‘Made In Chelsea’ – but has now admitted he has “grown up” and would never be so “careless” with the phrases he chooses.
He told The Sun Online: “I was wrong to use language like that.
“I’ve grown-up a lot since 2013 and would now never be so careless with my choice of words.
“As a society, we’ve also come a long way, and I think we’re now more aware of the power of the words we use.”
This isn’t the first time Sam has been in trouble recently.
Earlier this month, he pulled out of a public appearance at the Voodoo nightclub in Newcastle, telling promoters he was suffering from a throat infection, but pictures later emerged of him with girlfriend Zara McDermott at a polo event instead.
Furious events boss Chris Williamson branded the reality star a “little w****r” in an angry video he shared on Twitter.
He fumed: “Sam was booked for a PA at Voodoo tonight. He sent us a message a bit earlier saying he was ill, with Strep throat in bed, was unable to make it, ‘I’m very very sorry’. ”
He then shared a video of Sam telling him he was unable to “speak or swallow” and would be on “s**t form” if he came to the club.
Chris said: “I spent half my day trying to fix this problem, I need to find a replacement, are we going to rebook him?
“Then I put a story up that Sam’s cancelled. One of my buddies linked me to this story of one of his mates.”
He then shared pictures of Sam and Zara at the Chestertons Polo in the Park and said: “I’m like, ‘hang on a second, who’s that **** there?'”

Megan Barton-Hanson slams ‘controlling’ Joe Garratt

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton-Hanson thinks Joe Garratt is “super controlling”.
The 2018 ‘Love Island’ contestant has slammed the 22-year-old catering boss for his treatment of partner Lucie Donlan after he told her to spend more time with the girls in the villa and while she admitted she hopes he gets voted off the show, she doesn’t want the 21-year-old beauty to have to go too.
She wrote in her column for The Sun Online: “I felt so sorry for Lucie when Joe was telling her how to act. If he’s that unhappy he should just break it up. It’s like he was using that as his get out clause.
“It’s not right! I couldn’t believe it when he was telling her to hang out with the girls. He can’t dictate who she enjoys spending time with.
“I think Joe is super controlling but at the same time I feel like she a strong, feisty girl. She needs to speak up for herself and not speak up for herself.
“Lucie needs to tell him to do one! He’s really immature.
“After Joe’s outburst I think the others will vote him and Lucie as the least compatible. But I really don’t want Lucie to go – I want Joe to go. Go home and make your sandwiches!”
Her comments come after Lucie broke down in tears when Joe admitted he wasn’t happy about her “strange” friendship with Tommy Fury.
Speaking about Lucie’s friendship with Tommy, Joe said to her: “I’m not happy with it. It’s strange. I think it’s time for you to get close with the girls.”
Megan also feels some of the other women in the show have been treating Lucie very fairly over her friendship with Tommy either.
She wrote: “I think the way the girls acted when Maura [Higgins] and Elma [Pazar] came in was very uncalled for….
“It’s not been fair the way they have been treating Lucie either – especially Amy. My best friend is a boy but because he’s gay no one questions it. You can still have a close friendship between a straight girl and a straight guy.

Chris Eubank Jr. has been asked to do Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Eubank Jr. has been asked to go on ‘Love Island’, but he wouldn’t take part in the show until he has retired.
The 29-year-old professional boxer insists the ITV2 dating programme is “not something I really need to do”, but admits he if he was approached about appearing on the series after he hangs up his gloves then he would consider it.
Quizzed on whether he has ever been asked to be on ‘Love Island’, he said: “People have asked me that. Would I ever do that? I think at this stage of my career it’s not something I really need to do.
“After I’ve retired maybe I will go on there. We’ll see.”
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star – who is appearing on the show alongside his famous pro fighter father Chris Eubank – believes people only take part in ‘Love Island’ for “exposure”, rather than “to find real love”.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “I see it as young and up-and-coming people looking to get their exposure. I don’t think they’re really going on the show thinking they’re going to find real love.
“They want to be on TV.
“I’ve had that exposure already, so I don’t really need to go on there.”
If Chris had appeared on the current series of ‘Love Island’ then he wouldn’t be the only boxer on the island.
Tommy Fury, 20, is currently one of the Islanders, and, like Chris, he also has a famous relation. His brother Tyson Fury is also a pro boxer.

Kerri Quinn enjoys acting alongside ‘hottest man on TV’ Tristan Gemmill

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerri Quinn was “beyond excited” about returning to ‘Coronation Street’ to star alongside “the hottest man on TV” Tristan Gemmill.
The cobbles star has returned to the ITV soap as Vicky Jefferies, who is pregnant after an affair with Tristan’s character Robert Preston, who is back with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and yet to find out he has a baby on the way with his former flame.
And Kerri – whose alter-ego Vicky first appeared in the ITV soap in September as mother of Simon Barlow’s (Alex Bain) bully Tyler Jefferies (Will Barnett) – couldn’t wait to get stuck into the new secret baby storyline.
She said: “I was beyond excited, I’d seen Michelle and Robert on screen and thought they were a great couple, so when I was told I was going to be paired up with Robert, who is probably the hottest man on TV, I was alright with that.
“To be asked back was exciting in itself but to be asked back to be part of this storyline I was delighted.
“I’ve never worked with a nicer bunch of people, I’ve been welcomed with open arms so if you combine working in an environment like this with amazing people and a fantastic storyline then it’s the dream job. It’s amazing to be here.”
But Kerri, who is from Belfast, admits it was tough keeping her latest ‘Corrie’ plot a secret, because so many of her pals are fans of the soap.
Asked if he was hard keeping the storyline away from her family and friends, she added: “It has been back at home because a lot of people are aware I’m back filming, but not what for so I’ve had to mind what I say.
“So many people are ‘Corrie’ fans that they’re desperate to know what my storyline is going to be and they’ve been trying to piece it together.
“We’ve seen Robert disappearing and Vicky being attacked and ringing someone so the clues were there.”

Producers had Men in Black: International casting doubts

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Men in Black: International’ producers initially didn’t want to cast Tessa Thompson alongside Chris Hemsworth after they acted opposite each other in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
Walter Parkes and Laurie Macdonald revealed that it was looked upon as a “potential negative” that Tessa, 35, and Chris, 35, had starred as alongside each other as Thor and Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie as they didn’t want it to seem like they had “no imagination”
However, the producers insisted they made the correct decision in casting the Chris and Tessa as agent H and agent M respectively as audiences are “embracing” the idea of the actors as a “duo”.
In an interview with Collider, Parkes said: “It was looked upon as a potential negative”.
Macdonald added: “For us it was, ‘is it a potential negative?’ But we felt that…”
Prompting Parkes to interject: “But on the other hand there was proof of concept. We saw that she, and this is the most important thing, you have Chris Hemsworth, that looks like Chris Hemsworth and has Chris Hemsworth confidence and charm and size, everything. Who can stand up to him? Who can absolutely hold their own? In a way that isn’t even competitive but is just like elemental forces. Not that many people, and we did see evidence of that. It’s not why we cast her, in fact we had certain trepidations about how we proceed.”
Macdonald said: “We didn’t want to look like, do we have no imagination?”
Parkes replied: “But, as it turns out, it was the right casting and, in fact, people are embracing the idea that it’s that duo back together again.”
The sci-fi blockbuster is a spin-off of the main ‘Men In Black’ series which starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as two agents working for a secret government agency working to police aliens living on Earth and protecting the planet from extra-terrestrial threats.
Hemsworth and Thompson star are joined in the movie by all-star cast which includes Kumail Nanjiani, Liam Neeson, Rafe Spall, Emma Thompson and Rebecca Ferguson.

Chloe Sevigny’s foolish fears in The Dead Don’t Die

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny was scared she would look like an “utter fool” next to Adam Driver and Bill Murray in ‘The Dead Don’t Die’.
The 44-year-old actress stars alongside Adam, 35 and Bill, 68, in Jim Jarmusch’s zombie-comedy film as small-town cops trying their best to deal with an uprising of the undead – and the ‘Act’ star admitted that she was embarrassed to be “playing the trauma and the stakes” while her co-stars gave such a “deadpan” performance.
In an interview with Comingsoon.net, she said: “I wasn’t really playing the deadpan I was playing the trauma and the stakes.
“So I was just afraid that I was gonna look like an utter fool next to these too [Driver and Murray] out deadpanning each other.”
Adam then joked: “We had a deadpan competition. Who could not move their mouth the most and not get their line out.”
‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ star Adam went on to explain that he and Bill weren’t “consciously” giving a deadpan performance but thanks to the ” thoughtful and introspective” characters written by Jim – who also helmed the film – he was able to easily portray his alter-ego.
He said: “I think it’s that we’re not consciously thinking let’s do this deadpan his characters are like very thoughtful and introspective so there’s a lot of thought and what comes out is you know minimal.”
Chloe interjected: “It’s more like the timing and the weight, there’s a lot of breathe.”
Adam replied: “You’re watching people think a lot. That’s what I liked about Jim is that he trusts that that’s cinematic enough watching people think and [wondering] what they’re gonna come out with.”

Lionsgate planning The Hunger Games prequel movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Lionsgate is planning a ‘Hunger Games’ prequel movie, based on a forthcoming novel from Suzanne Collins.
The 56-year-old author recently announced that she’ll be penning another instalment of the dystopian franchise and is working closely with the studio on a new movie which will take place in fictional the world of Panem, 64 years before the events of the original books.
Joe Drake, chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement: “As the proud home of the ‘Hunger Games’ movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne’s next book to be published. We’ve been communicating with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie.”
The original best-selling trilogy – comprised of ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Mockingjay’- follows Katniss Everdeen as she’s thrust into a compulsory televised battle to the death called The Hunger Games and was adapted into a film series starring Jennifer Lawrence in the main role in 2008.
The prequel will explore “the state of nature” during the so-called Dark Days following a failed rebellion in the totalitarian city and will focus on rebuilding Panem as it “struggles back to its feet”.
Collins said: “With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period ten years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days – as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet – provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

Jamie Murray’s wife won’t let him compete on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Murray’s wife “won’t let him” appear on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – because she doesn’t think the dance routines are authentic.
The 33-year-old British tennis champion – who is the brother of Wimbledon singles winner Sir Andy Murray – says it’s unlikely that he will follow in the footsteps of his mother Judy Murray and compete on the BBC One ballroom show because his Colombian spouse Alejandra Gutierrez hates the way that the couples have to perform routines like the salsa to pop songs.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: “No, no, my wife wouldn’t let me [appear on ‘Strictly’]. She’s an amazing dancer, being South American, but she doesn’t like it when they do the salsa or tango to pop music. She doesn’t think it’s pure.”
Judy was partnered professional Anton du Beke in 2014 and got to week eight of the competition.
Jamie also revealed his wife Alejandra is not a big fan of tennis, despite him being one of one of the best doubles players in the world, and would rather focus on her career as a global marketing manager for a large tech firm rather than join him on the ATP tour.
He added: “It’s not that exciting for a wife or girlfriend on the tour. Ale has two degrees anyway, so she said, ‘I’m not going to study all that time just to follow your around and wait in players’ lounges to watch you do your job.’ It was her who helped me get serious about my tennis again, serious about life again. She was a huge support, and probably the reason for me achieving what I’ve been able to in the past few years. I don’t know if I’d have [been world number one] if I hadn’t met her.”
Jamie also went on to reveal that the most common misconception about his life is that his mother Judy, 59, controlled his and his 32-year-old brother Andy’s tennis development with an “iron fist”.
He said: “I think people thought she really ruled with an iron fist, and was a pushy parent, which is totally, totally wrong. She’d only be seen in the players’ box, cheering on, which is a stressful environment, but they built up this persona about her. She was sold as the driving force of it all, and did do an amazing job, but my dad would never have got headlines. He was just a normal dad with a regular job, not a tennis person.”

Emily Atack won’t feel ‘fully complete’ until she has kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack won’t feel “complete” until she has children.
The ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ star – who is currently dating film producer Rob Jowers – can’t wait to have her “dream family” and feels like she’d fare well as a parent as she is “very emotional” and wants to “put all the love I have into a child”.
In an interview with Star TV magazine, she said: “I’ve always felt like a lost kid in a supermarket. I’m very emotional and I think I can put all the love I have into a child.
“I have too much love in me. I don’t know what to do with it, which is why I get heartbroken all the time. I feel I won’t be fully complete until I have my dream family. ”
The 29-year-old star went on to explain that her new reality show ‘Emily Atack: Adulting’ – which will follow Emily as she approaches her 30th birthday – will explore the ‘Inbetweeners’ actress’ concerns over having kids, as well as other issues such dating and body image.
She said: “They’re subjects that crop up for me which I find the most difficult. I worry about having babies, like most women do, plus body insecurities. Am I too fat? Why am I so needy with men?
“I feel like I’m in limbo as I approach 30. We’re taught about how hard puberty and the menopause will be, but not this particular age.
“I’m not engaged yet and I don’t have the two dogs and a nice house. Am I doing life wrong? I really beat myself up about it. This series is a humorous look at that.”

Olivia Attwood insists people don’t go on Love Island to find ‘The One’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Attwood says contestants don’t go on ‘Love Island’ to find ‘The One’.
The 28-year-old reality star appeared ITV2 dating reality show in 2017 and finished in third place after coupling up with Chris Hughes, however, she claims she only signed up to the show for the “experience”, not to find a potential husband.
She said: “I don’t think anyone ever goes on ‘Love Island’ for love. Anyone who tries to claim they do is weird, it’s just like embarrassing. Like, come on, there are easier ways to meet someone. I went on for the experience, not thinking I was going to meet my husband. Now, when people go in, they know what’s up for grabs, but we had no idea how big it was until we left.”
And Olivia says that the instant fame has changed a lot of the people she shared the villa with and insisted that boys are particularly “affected” by it.
She added: “I just think the boys seem to be more affected by it. Girls are a bit more unfazed. Guys come out and all the Insta followers and attention goes to their heads.”
The blonde beauty dated Chris for seven months after the show ended before they broke up, but when Olivia thinks about her time in the villa she has only likes to focus on the good memories of the time she spent with her friends on the programme and he doesn’t enter her mind now.
In an interview with Heat magazine, she said: “To be honest when I think about my ‘Love Island’ memories, Chris doesn’t even come into them, because I try to remember my good memories.”
Olivia is keen to do more reality television in the future but she wants to spend the summer recovering from her new boob job – which saw her have her cup size reduced – and enjoying some time with her Blackburn Rovers soccer player boyfriend Bradley Dack.
She said: “I’m definitely keen to do more reality TV – that’s where I feel most at home. Right now, I’m just focusing on recovery from [my breast] surgery and the end of Brad’s summer, but I don’t think there’s much that I’d be scared to do.”

Amber Gill’s mother called ITV after star received ‘death threats’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Gill’s mother has called ITV2’s welfare team after the ‘Love Island’ star received a barrage of “death threats” online.
The 21-year-old beauty therapist – who is currently taking part in the ITV2 reality show, where she is coupled up with Michael Griffiths – has become victim to online abuse from trolls, and the star’s long-time friend Martin Tweedy, who is currently running Amber’s social media accounts, has spoken out about the disgusting messages to protect Amber’s mental health and revealed that her mother has had to contact the aftercare team.
He said: “In the first two or three days, when Amber was portrayed as this stone cold b***h, her mum actually rang the welfare team and used their services and they talked her round.
“So I totally get that people may not get Amber, or she may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but looking after her social, I’m having to deal with these kinds of messages daily.
“I think initially I just thought to myself if she gets to the final, this is eight weeks that she’ll have been in solitary confinement without her friends and family’s support.
“To come out of those eight weeks to an inbox full of hate and death threats, and things like that, I just thought something needs to be done here.”
And Martin went on to reveal that a 13-year-old boy sent Amber an abusive message containing the word N-word, and subsequently told his parents and school.
He added to Metro.co.uk: “I used the email address on his profile to search for his Facebook, and I sent a screenshot to his mum, his dad, and his school. Two can play at that game.
“I’m not letting people get away with this anymore, it’s 2019 and it’s disgusting that people think they can get away with that kind of thing.”

Lucie Donlan’s mum insists she should stay on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucie Donlan’s mum has says her daughter should stay on ‘Love Island’ after almost 800 people complained to Ofcom about her on-screen boyfriend Joe Garratt.
The 21-year-old surfer was seen on the ITV2 dating show breaking down in tears show after being told by her partner to stay away from other men in the villa, prompting a slew of complaints about his “unhealthy” and “controlling” behaviour.
And now, Lucy’s mum Cellie Donlan, has said she has “no worries” about her daughter and feels the blonde beauty is “very happy” on the show – insisting the support given to Lucy and her family has been “amazing”.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: “Lucie should stay on the show. We’ve got no worries over her what so ever, she’s very happy. The support given to her and us as a family by ITV has been amazing.”
Cellie’s comments come after Adina Claire, co-chief executive of women’s charity Women’s Aid, said she believes it is a “positive development” that people are highlighting parts of the ITV2 dating show to the UK’s communications regulator after hundreds of people objected to Joe’s treatment of Lucy.
In a statement on the Women’s Aid website, Adina said: “Controlling behaviour is never acceptable, and with Love Island viewers complaining to Ofcom in record numbers about Joe’s possessive behaviour towards Lucie, more people are becoming aware of this and want to challenge it.
“Abusive relationships often start off with subtle signs of control, so it’s important that it is recognised at an early stage.
“‘Love Island’ viewers are now very vocal in calling out unhealthy behaviour between couples on the show, and this is a positive development.”
On the show, Joe suggested his girlfriend “get close with the girls” and distance herself from her friend Tommy Fury.
Speaking about her friendship with Tommy, Joe said to her: “I’m not happy with it. It’s strange. I think it’s time for you to get close with the girls.”
