Love Island’s Elma Pazar lied about her age

OHMYGOSSIP — Elma Pazar lied about her age to get onto ‘Love Island’.
The eyelash technician – who was booted out of the villa last week, just six days after her arrival – pretended she was three years younger than her 26 years when it came to applying for the ITV2 dating show.
Speaking to Kem Cetinay and Arielle Free on the ‘Love Island Morning After’ podcast, she said: “I lied about my age on ‘Love Island’.
“I tell everyone I’m 23, it’s a real issue. I’m 26 but now everyone knows it because they said they couldn’t lie for me.”
The average age of the contestants in the villa so far this series is 24.
Tom Walker is the oldest at 29, while Molly-Mae Hague is 19 and Tommy Fury is 20.
Elma – who was coupled up with Anton Danyluk before her exit – was due to be among the initial 12 Islanders who headed into the villa for the first episode, but she declined an offer from the programme’s bosses because she “wasn’t ready for it”, but later went back on her decision and entered on the 10th day.
She previously said: “I was given the offer to [go in at the start], but I just think at that very time I wasn’t ready for it. My head space was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if I want this, I don’t know if I want the fame.’
“Because initially when you go in for the first time you’re going to be in there for a while, there’s a big build up to it so people get to know you, there will stories and stuff, and I was like, ‘I just don’t know if I’m ready for it.’
“I initially declined it, and then once the show came on I was like, ‘I take that back, I want to do it.’ ”

Stephanie Waring’s pals desperate for her to do I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Waring’s friends are desperate to see her “scream for a couple of weeks” on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress has been heavily linked to the ITV reality show in the past, and she admits all of her loved ones are “dying” to see her head into the jungle because she’s “scared of everything”.
She said: “Everyone who knows me is dying to see me in the jungle. I know why – it’s because I’m scared of everything and they want to watch me scream for a couple of weeks.
“I guess it would be a challenge to see if I could get through it and I do love Australia, so if they ever call, I’ll have to see if I feel brave enough to do it.”
The 41-year-old soap star – who plays Cindy Cunningham – is “really busy” with other commitments, but heading Down Under is still something she’d like to “tick off the list” at some point in the future.
Asked if she was jealous of co-star Malique Thompson-Dwyer heading into the jungle last year, she told new! magazine: “Not at all.
“I was so busy at work and I’d just done ‘Dancing On Ice’. I’m really busy this year, but it’s something I would like to tick off the list one day.”
And Stephanie hasn’t hidden her goal of heading Down Under for the reality show, previously describing the programme as “a real test of inner strength”.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to do the jungle.
“There are no pressures from the outside world, no TVs and no phones and I think it’s a real test of inner strength which has always appealed to me.”

Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard ‘set for Love Island spin-off show’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard are set for their own spin-off show when they leave ‘Love Island’.
The Islanders have developed a bromance on the ITV2 show which even led to them sharing a smooch with one another this week, and ITV bosses are said to be lining up a programme for them.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, producers see Tommy and Curtis as the new “Chris Hughes and Kem Cetinay”, who appeared on the show’s third series together in 2017 and went on to land a spin-off programme.
Chris and Kem’s ITV2 show, ‘You Vs. Chris & Kem’, aired last summer and saw the pair travel across the UK to take part in a number of challenges sent in via social media.
Curtis, 23, and Tommy, 20, shared an emotional chat earlier this week, culminating in a warm embrace and a kiss.
Tommy – who is coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague – told his pal: “It’s mad. Obviously we both came in here together and we didn’t know what to expect.
“And I feel like we’ve both found what we’re looking for, and it’s special.
“But, in all honesty, coming from the heart now, I could not have asked to meet a better guy.
“You’re my brother. I can talk to you about anything. I trust you with anything.
“It’s mad, because we’ve both come in here and found love, but also we’ve come in here and found a brother for life. No if, buts or maybes about that.”
Curtis – who is coupled up with Amy Hart – replied: “100 per cent, mate, 100 per cent.
“I haven’t met somebody like you before. You’re raw.”
The pair then kissed and hugged, and Tommy said: “Brothers for life.”

Chris Rock’s Saw reboot will begin shooting next week

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Rock’s ‘Saw’ reboot will begin filming next week.
It was previously announced that the 54-year-old comedian-and-actor has partnered with Lionsgate to create “a really intense and twisted” re-imagining of the $1 billion horror franchise, which consists of eight feature films and was created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
Now, the new film’s director Darren Lynn Bousman – who previously helmed ‘Saw II’, ‘Saw III’ and ‘Saw IV’ – has announced that production on the horror will begin in “just a few days” and has teased that “no one is ready” for the “insanity” in the forthcoming reboot.
Bousman, 40, posted on Twitter: “Start shooting the new Saw film in just a few days. Something I never thought I be typing again! Gotta be honest. No one is ready for the insanity about to bleed out on screen!”
The original series follows psychopathic serial killer John Kramer, known as the ‘Jigsaw Killer’ or ‘Jigsaw’, who traps his victims in horrifically perilous situations that he calls “games” to test their will to live through physical and psychological torment in a bid to rehabilitate them for their perceived sins.
Announcing the reboot, Rock said: “I’ve been a fan of ‘Saw’ since the first film in 2004. I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place.”
The Lionsgate motion picture group chairman Joe Drake, added: “This upcoming film will still be as mind-bending and intense as all the previous ‘Saw’ films. Chris conceived this idea and it will be completely reverential to the legacy of the material while reinvigorating the brand with his wit, creative vision and passion for this classic horror franchise.”
The remake is slated for release on Halloween 2020 and the screenplay will be penned by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, who wrote the script for the eight instalment of the franchise ‘Jigsaw’, based on a story by Rock.

Nitin Ganatra feared swingers hotel error

OHMYGOSSIP — Nitin Ganatra feared he had booked into a “swingers hotel” by accident when uninvited strangers burst into his room twice.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star was fast asleep in the early hours of this morning (27.06.19) when someone entered his hotel room in Knutsford, Cheshire, but he managed to scare the guy off by putting on a deep Geordie accent.
He wrote on Twitter: “In a hotel in Knutsford for work. 12.45 in the nite, fast asleep. Door bursts open. Half asleep I yelled “what you doin!? Why I choose a deep voice and jordie accent I dunno! The guy ran off terrified. This is why you NEVER sleep naked! And ALWAYS keep your boots on! (sic)”
And earlier this morning, Nitin – who played Masood Ahmed on the BBC One soap – was left shocked when another uninvited guest burst into his room, and he questioned whether he had accidentally checked into a different type of hotel than he’s used to.
He tweeted: “Ok. Just had a shower. And it happened again!! Wtf is going on??? Am I in some swingers joint by accident?? (sic)”
His former co-star Shane Richie (Alfie Moon) saw the funny side, tweeting: “I’m waiting”
Nitin revealed his unexpected guests were entering his room via a key card.
The star recently returned to the stage after 16 years away to star in ‘End of the Pier’, and he was rewarded with a Best Actor gong at the Eastern Eye ACTA Awards for the production.

Shobna Gulati wants to end dementia stigma

OHMYGOSSIP — Shobna Gulati wants to end the stigma around dementia.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has written about her mother’s battle with vascular dementia, and she has called for people to talk about the disease more openly in a bid to help others realise they’re not alone.
In a piece for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Dementia Blog, she wrote: “Vascular dementia has definitely made Mum more socially isolated, and more and more of today’s older generation is facing this future. It’s also isolating for carers, like me and my siblings.
“In our community it’s normal for everyone to know everyone else’s business, it’s a very social affair. But when you’re struggling to cover cracks in normal life, it can also create a real social pressure.
“Talking about dementia, and the value of research, is vital. It’s such an important way to break down these stigmas.”
The 52-year-old soap star – who played Sunita Alahan on the cobbles for five years until 2006, before returning again from 2009 to 2013 – insisted “there is no shame” in dementia, but believes it is vital for people to open up about their experiences so that others can feel safe.
She explained: “If we can talk about dementia and share experiences without judgement or taboo, we can create support systems and help people contribute for longer within society. “We can also help people accept that they might be changing and adapt the world to make their lives easier.
“Dementia is caused by diseases, there is no shame in that. Everyone is human and at some stage in our lives we’ll all get ill.
“My hope for the future is that if my family has been brave enough to speak out about dementia, we might help others. And together, we’ll break down that stigma and support research into this debilitating disease.”

Jennie McAlpine learning Coronation Street scripts ahead of return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennie McAlpine has started learning ‘Coronation Street’ scripts again ahead of her return to the soap.
The 35-year-old star was last seen in Weatherfield as Fiz Stape in December before going on maternity leave to have her second child, and the actress has teased she will be back on the cobbles soon after sharing a picture of some ‘Corrie’ scripts.
She wrote: “Friday night reading Hoping it’s just like riding a bike #itsbeenawhile (sic)”
The star was inundated with numerous messages, including one from her on-screen partner Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs).
He shared celebration and heart emojis in response to her message.
And Andy Whyment, who plays Fiz’s ex Kirk Sutherland, wrote: “Looking forward to having you back”
Jennie welcomed her second child into the world, a baby girl named Hilda, with her husband Chris Farr – who she also shares four-year-old son Albert with – in October.
Following the birth, some ‘Corrie’ viewers pointed out her baby may have been named after legendary cobbles character Hilda Ogden, who was played by Jean Alexander from 1964 to 1987.
Jennie had previously said: “It will probably be named after a ‘Coronation Street’ character like Albert was, but not on purpose.
“But all the gorgeous names have all been in ‘Coronation Street’. So probably that.”
Before leaving ‘Corrie’ to go on maternity leave, Jennie revealed the soap’s production team had to reverse a car on the cobbles set in order to disguise her burgeoning baby bump.
She said: “We started [covering the bump] with a mug, and then a handbag. I kid you not, last week they hid it with a Ford Fiesta.
“They said, ‘Can we just move that car back a bit?’ I said, ‘Is this for my bump?’ They said, ‘Yeah, we can see it a bit, but it’s going to help.’ ”

Mikey North ‘couldn’t stop crying’ after filming violent Coronation Street scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Mikey North “couldn’t stop crying” after filming his ‘Coronation Street’ character Gary Windass getting violent with Sarah Platt.
The 32-year-old star admits it took him “a while” to get his head around the hard-hitting scenes when Gary pinned Sarah – played by Tina O’Brien – against a wall after she broke up with him, and admits it was “particularly bad” for his own emotions.
He said: “Those scenes when I had to throw her around, they weren’t easy. It took me a while to get my head around it and I was in tears.
“I couldn’t stop crying for a while after that. I never cry. I couldn’t tell you the last time I cried. That was particularly bad. It turned out to be more than we both expected because of the emotion of it all.”
Gary has recently shown his nasty side when viewers discovered he was the reason behind the factory roof collapse, which left Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) dead, and Mikey is aware his time on the soap will be coming to an end at some point.
He added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “I’d stay here forever if that was an option. However, I am aware that with this type of storyline, whether it be two or three years, it will come to an end.
“I will be devastated when it happens, but I would rather it be this way with some great storylines.”
Gary has also gone up against villain Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) recently, resulting in more hard-hitting scenes, and Mikey feels “blessed” working with such stars as Greg and Connor McIntyre, who played cobbles serial killer Pat Phelan.
He said: “It’s a challenge but it’s been great. I’ve been blessed in working with two great villains, Phelan and now Rick which has been really enjoyable.
“Gary has often tried to bully people, like Seb down the years, but when he comes up against people like Rick, he realises he’s not so good at it after all.”

Michelle Yeoh in talks for Gold Mountain

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Yeoh is in talks to star in ‘Gold Mountain’.
The 56-year-old actress – who appeared in 1997 James Bond film ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ as well as last year’s comedy-drama film, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ – is in talks to star and produce Alan Taylor’s new period adventure film alongside Taylor, Jane Wu and Brandan Dennehy.
According to Variety, the new movie is set in 1850s San Francisco during the violent times of the Gold Rush and will tell the story of a canny widow who teams up with a girl she transports from China to con unsuspecting men, and together “overcome innate distrust” to form an everlasting bond.
The script was penned by Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig and is in development with Starlight Culture Entertainment Group – the Hong Kong and Beverly Hills based company who invested in last year’s ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.
Announcing the project in a statement, Taylor said: “The film will touch on the epic history shared between the US and China. But at its heart, it is an intimate human story about two women contending with forces beyond their control. It explores how the confrontation between cultures can lead to violence but also to tender and deep connections.”
Wu added: “I’m very excited to bring this shared history between the US and China to the big screen so that more audiences can learn how Chinese immigrants impacted that era.”

Naomie Harris cast in Black and Blue because she’s ‘dynamic’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Black and Blue’ director Deon Taylor cast Naomie Harris in his new film because she was the most “dynamic and powerful” person that auditioned for him.
The 42-year-old British actress plays Alicia West in the upcoming thriller, a rookie police office in New Orleans who is forced to go on the run after capturing corrupt officers murdering a drug dealer on camera, and Deon, 43, hailed Naomi as “incredible” and insisted she was perfect for the role as she’s a “thespian” rather than a “movie star”.
Speaking to Cinema Blend, he said: “I cast her because she’s incredible. When we were looking to cast the film, obviously there were some choices that you could have made where we were like, ‘Aw, I know who that is,’ or, ‘Aw, I love her.’ This was really a decision of who is the most dynamic and powerful actress that I can grab right now? I wanted someone that the audience could be like, ‘Yo, who is this girl?’ And then [realise], ‘Oh, that’s the girl from…’ I thought that was really fresh for us to do. And, she’s powerful. I mean, in this era where we have a lot of movie stars, I think Naomie is a thespian. She’s someone that … when you’re done with the film, she’s still living with it a month or two after. That’s what [we] wanted in this movie.”
‘Black and Blue’ is based on a screenplay from Peter A. Dowling and is set for release October 25 and Sean Sorensen of Royal Viking Entertainment is producing with Taylor’s Hidden Empire Film Group production shingle while Hidden Empire partner Roxanne Avent will serve as exec producer and Eric Paquette is overseeing the project for Screen Gems.

Love Island’s Maura Higgins fuming over Tom’s lads chat

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ contestant Maura Higgins accuses Tom Walker of talking about her “like a piece of garbage” as the pair row about the disrespectful comment he made about her to the other boys.
The stunning Irish babe is left fuming and refuses to accept Tom’s apology after she caught him telling the other guys that he was going to find out if she is “all mouth” with her sexual boasts when the pair spent a night alone in The Hideaway.
After announcing to the other girls that she is not going into The Hideaway with Tom, Maura rants: “I’m not going to let anyone talk about me like a piece of garbage. He’s trying to be a lad out there in front of all the boys. I don’t want a lad, I want a gentleman. Someone who is going to talk about me with a bit of respect.”
The girls are startled by what she heard, and Tom tries to argue the whole thing was simply “miscommunication”.
He says: “I repeated what they asked me.”
When he points out the boys asked him a question, Maura insists there were much better ways to handle it.
She tells Tom: “Maybe you should have been a gentleman. You shouldn’t have said that about me.”
The boys try to get involved to help Tom out, but Maura shrugs off the suggestion she “got the wrong end of that chat”.
Speaking to Anton Danyluk, she said: “No, I didn’t. He’s trying to be a lad. A real man wouldn’t speak about a woman, the way he spoke about me down there.”
Despite her anger, Maura is “so glad” she overheard the conversation because it’s making her realise “he is the last person” she wants to spend the night with.
The drama will unfold on the episode of ‘Love Island’ that will air on ITV2 at 9pm on Monday night (24.06.19).
There will be even more dramatic scenes as there will be a new coupling and the girl who is left single will be dumped from the villa.

Amanda Holden claims Phillip Schofield snubbed her coffee offer

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden says Phillip Schofield ignored her offer to meet for coffee.
The 48-year-old presenter recently took a cheeky swipe at Phillip, 47, by naming him as one of the things she wouldn’t want to find in her house, fuelling circulating rumours that there are tensions between the pair who, on occasions, presented ‘This Morning’ together.
Now, the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge has claimed that she extended an olive branch to Phillip, 57, by suggesting they meet over coffee to iron out any differences, however, Amanda claims he ignored her invitation and never replied to her text message.
Appearing on her Heart Breakfast radio show on Monday (24.06.19) her co-host Jamie Theakston asked: “You might have moved on but I just wanted to know, is there any more to the story?”
Amanda then replied: “I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?”
Jamie then said: “The olive branch had been extended.”
To which she replied: “Oh, yes.”
Amanda was previously the favourite to step in for Holly Willoughby, Phillip’s regular ‘This Morning’ co-host, at the end of last year when she went to Australia to present ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ with Declan Donnelly in place of his regular co-star Ant McPartlin, who was taking time out of his showbiz career to recover from alcohol dependency.
However, the job eventually went to Rochelle Humes and Amanda was axed from presenting on the programme.
Jamie went on to question whether Amanda and Phillip could reconcile in the style of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift – who recently patched things up while dressed as a burger and fries in the video for Taylor’s single ‘You Need To Calm Down’ after a long-standing feud over back-up dancers.
He asked: “In a kind of Katy Perry/ Taylor Swift moment, will there maybe be a burger and fries moment for you guys?”
However, Amanda replied: “I doubt it. I’m a vegetarian, Jamie.”

Helen Flanagan is trying to ‘figure out’ Coronation Street return

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan is trying to “figure out” how she will make her ‘Coronation Street’ return.
The 28-year-old actress played the role of Rosie Webster in the ITV soap from 2000-2012 and then came back to the cobbles of Weatherfield in 2017 before going on maternity leave to have her second daughter with Celtic footballer Scott Sinclair – 12-month-old Delilah.
Helen – who also has four-year-old Matilda with 30-year-old Scott – will return to the show “at some point” but she needs to work out childcare and the logistics of coming down to Manchester to shoot ‘Corrie’ from her home in Scotland.
In an interview with the new issue of OK! magazine, she said: “I’ve always said I’ll go back, but I’m still not sure when that will be. I’m a mum now so I have to put my children first.
“We have to be based in Scotland for Scott’s job and the show is filmed in Manchester so I need to figure out how I’m going to make it work. The door is open for me to go back so I will return at some point.”
Helen will soon tie the knot with Scott, 30, and revealed that Sally Dynevor and Brooke Vincent, who play her on-screen mother Sally Metcalfe and sister Sophie Webster in the series, will definitely be among the guests as they are “like her family” as she has worked with them since she was nine.
She said: “Sally Dynevor and Brooke Vincent will definitely be there. I’ve grown up working with them they’re like my family.
“I was so excited when Brooke told me she was having a baby. We’ve known each other since we were children and I know she’s going to be an amazing mum. She’s great with children and it’s something she’s wanted for a long time. It’s sad we live so far apart as we won’t be able to have many play dates.”

Reece Dinsdale ‘never felt more at ease’ with work since axing agents

OHMYGOSSIP — Reece Dinsdale has been inundated with work requests since axing his acting and directing agents – and wishes he did it “years back”.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who played Joe McIntyre from 2008 to 2010 – made the bold move a couple of weeks ago, and he has “never felt more at ease” about work since after numerous “fine people” asked to team up with him.
He wrote on Twitter: “Coming up to 60, I chose to jettison my acting and directing agents a couple of weeks ago.
“Suddenly I have so many fine people wanting to work with me.
“Wish I’d done it years back. Never felt more at ease.”
The 59-year-old star made the move because he was “sick of waiting on others to provide opportunities”, but he feels confident he can source enough work because he has a solid contacts book.
He wrote: “Got lots of contacts and it feels good. Sick of waiting on others to provide opportunities. Time to go out and make them. If you don’t take control, this business perpetually leaves you feeling like you’ve just left drama school. Well I’m too old for that. (sic)”
Last week, Reece revealed his father had died, and thanked fans for their “uplifting” messages.
He tweeted: “Recently, when I said I had ‘brilliant followers’… I lied. I have UNBELIEVABLY brilliant followers!!!
Your words of love & support today are as kind & generous as they are uplifting.
Too many to reply to individually, but a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to each and every one of you. x
Having lost my dad yesterday, today I begin shooting my latest ‘Moving On’ drama for @LAProductionsUK and BBC1.
Where I’ll get the strength from, I have no idea… but it was his dying wish that I wasn’t to stop.
I shall do it in his honour and let him carry me through. xxx
Got to get to work now and won’t have time to read all your wonderful messages re my dad.
But I will… I promise!
May your day bring good things. x (sic)”
