EastEnders’ Tony Clay had Max Bowden ‘worry’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Clay was worried he “might not get on with” co-star Max Bowden.
The ‘EastEnders’ actors’ characters have hooked up on screen as lovers Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway and Ben Mitchell, and the soap star’s concerns were dismissed once the pair established their “lovely chemistry” on set.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: “With Max, there’s always going to be this worry at the start that you might not get on with the other person, but me and him have a great relationship.
“We have a lovely chemistry and, although we make each other laugh a lot, there’s always a level of professionalism there when we have big, intense scenes.”
Tony – whose character is engaged to Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty), but is also involved with Max’s alter-ego Ben – has been enjoying the fan reaction to his latest plot.
He added: “I’m grateful to be sharing this ‘Ballum’ journey with Max, especially since we are both relatively new to ‘EastEnders’.
“We feel as if we are part of a movement here, and hearing the fan reaction is just great.
“Everybody wants to know they are doing a good job, and the response has given us that self-belief. It’s a beautiful thing.”
Tony has been well looked after since he made his debut on the soap on New Year’s Day last year, and he believes some of the stars thought he might need taking care of when they saw the “mad haircut” he got for the role.
He previously said: “They’re like my surrogate ‘EastEnders’ family. Kellie [Bright] is such a warm and lovely person, and has really looked out for me.
“To be fair, everyone has been my mentor since I’ve been on the show. I think people took one look at my mad haircut and thought, ‘We need to look out for him.’ ”

Tamer Hassan’s daughter Belle Hassan joins Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamer Hassan’s daughter has joined ‘Love Island’ alongside 11 other new Islanders as Casa Amor is to open its doors once more.
The ‘Football Factory’ star’s kid Belle Hassan, 21, will be among the new arrivals on tonight’s (28.06.19) show, and her father has warned her he will be watching “every detail” when she is in the villa.
She said: “My dad is an actor, Tamer Hassan. He’s been in ‘Football Factory’, ‘The Business’, ‘Game of Thrones’ – he is my link to the famous world.
“He is a very supportive dad, he is like my best friend and is always there for me.
“He’s told me to be myself but has also warned me, ‘I’m watching and I’m going to be seeing every detail.’ ”
Tamer starred opposite Danny Dyer in ‘Football Factory’, so Belle knows the ‘EastEnders’ actor’s daughter Dani Dyer – who won last year’s ‘Love Island’ with Jack Fincham – from childhood.
She added: “Because he was in a film with Danny Dyer, I’ve met Dani Dyer when we were kids.”
Other newbies on the island include England footballer Ben Chilwell’s ex-girlfriend Joanna Chimonides.
The 22-year-old recruitment consultant said: “At the end of the day we are all in the villa for the same reason – to meet someone – so some times you might have to tread on toes but the same thing happens outside of the villa sometimes too.”
Fellow new female arrivals include 24-year-old model Jourdan Riane, 29-year-old hostess Nabila Badda, and 23-year-old business developer Lavena Back.
Six new lads have also joined the ITV2 dating show, including 22-year-old pro footballer Dennon Lewis, 21-year-old student Stevie Bradley, and 21-year-old bathroom salesman Dan Rose, who has set his sights on Lucie Donlan and Maura Higgins.
He said: “I do fancy Amber but I know she seems loved up with Michael.
“I’ll test the water with it though. Then I’ll probably go for Lucie and Maura.”
The guys are expected to head to second villa Casa Amor to meet the current girls on the island, while the new ladies will go into the main villa with the current crop of lads.

Paul Rudd set for Ghostbusters 2020 role

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Rudd is in final talks for ‘Ghostbusters 2020’.
The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ actor is said to be in the last stage of negotiations to play a teacher in the film, which will see Jason Reitman – whose father Ivan directed the original 1984 movie – stepping into the director’s chair.
As reported by Variety, Rudd is set to join the cast with Carrie Coon set to appear alongside ‘Stranger Things’ actor Finn Wolfhard and ‘Gifted’ star Mckenna Grace.
Reitman has co-written the screenplay with Gil Kenan, and it’s said plans are in place to shoot the movie later this summer.
Reitman said: “I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ at Sundance.
“I’m thrilled he’ll be joining this new chapter in the original ‘Ghostbusters’ universe.”
Although plot details are being kept under wraps, insiders have said the story will be an extension of the original movie, focusing on a single mother and her family.
It’s not known how it will connect to the 1984 classic, but it’s Sigourney Weaver has revealed she will be back reprising her role as cellist Dana Barrett, whose apartment was haunted by an evil spirit.
She said: “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!”
Speaking about the original ‘Ghostbusters’, she added: “I knew it would be big. The script was so funny and full of heart. ‘Ghostbusters’ changed my life.”
Dan Aykroyd previously revealed the third instalment of the franchise is “so different” from the first two films, and feels the movie is more “warm” and “heartfelt” than its predecessors.
He explained: “It’s so different from even the first and second (film)… This just takes it to a new generation and a new direction that is so warm, heartfelt and indeed, quite scary when you confront some of the issues that are being discussed.”
Aykroyd starred as Dr. Ray Stantz alongside Bill Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman and Harold Ramis as Dr. Egon Spengler and Rick Moranis as Louis Tully in the first ‘Ghostbusters’ film.

Sienna Miller doesn’t want ‘wife’ roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Sienna Miller “won’t” play “someone’s wife” any more.
The 37-year-old actress has landed her first leading role as Deb, a woman with a missing daughter, in indie drama ‘American Woman’ and she loved the experience of being “in charge” of a production and playing the central part.
She said: “This is the first time I’ve been in every single scene of a film. I really liked it.
“I’d spent so much time trying to make the most of things that weren’t quite there.
“There were some really great movies with great directors, but I was really always trying to do something interesting with nothing. To finally be in charge of something, to tell a story and map the entire thing, was really great. I’m 37 years old. I’m ready to do that.
“I don’t want to be someone’s wife, trying to embellish some role that’s really nothing. I won’t do that anymore.”
However, after such a great experience working on ‘Foxcatcher’ – in which she played Nancy, the wife of Mark Ruffalo’s Olympic wrestler character Dave Schultz – she has no regrets about the role she took in that movie.
She told Vulture: “‘Foxcatcher’ changed a lot of things for me, though. I had more to do but not quite enough. But I was in an incredible successful and well-loved film. So yes, I’d do that again.”
And Sienna would also make an exception for director Paul Thomas Anderson.
She added: “I mean, if Paul Thomas Anderson called me and said, ‘You have one scene and you’re sitting in the background sipping tea,’ I’d be like, ‘Yes.’ ”
The ‘Factory Girl’ star thinks she’s been “underestimated” throughout her career.
She said: “I do feel like I’ve been, for much of my life, underestimated. If you do something that starts to tackle that and stop allowing that underestimation, that’s a huge personal thing. It’s really lovely.”

Simon Webbe and Wes Nelson set for Sink or Swim

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Webbe and Wes Nelson have signed up for ‘Sink or Swim’.
The Blue singer and ‘Love Island’ star are said to be part of the cast for Channel 4’s upcoming four-part swimming show which will raise funds for ‘Stand Up To Cancer’.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, the duo will be joined by Sky News anchor Kay Burley, ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star James ‘Arg’ Argent and Olympian Greg Rutherford.
It’s also said that ‘The Last Leg’ comedian Alex Brooker, TV presenter Diane-Louise Jordan, Olympic athlete Tessa Sanderson, ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Rachel Adedeji and reality star Georgia Kousoulou will all be part of the cast.
Contestants will be guided by swimming professionals, including adventurer Ross Edgeley and Olympic silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne.
Each episode will see one celebrity booted off the show after a qualification swim, and the finalists will be challenged to swim the English Channel.
Steven Handley, commissioning editor for entertainment at Channel 4, previously said: “‘Sink or Swim’ promises to be one of the most perilous ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ celebrity challenges we have ever attempted.
“It will push the boundaries of what celebrities will endure and overcome to raise money and awareness for charity, and we are delighted to be working with TwoFour on this ambitious project.”
Mel Leach, executive producer for Twofour, added: “Swimming the Channel is a monumental feat for even the very best swimmers, let alone those who can’t even swim a length.
“Our brave celebrities will have to overcome their fears and embark on a huge mental and physical transformation to complete this epic challenge.”

All Creatures Great and Small to be revived in 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ is being rebooted with a new television adaptation.
The show – which ran for seven series from 1978 to 1990 and starred the likes of Peter Davison, Christopher Timothy and Robert Hardy – was based on vet James Herriot’s classic books, and Channel 5 is now planning a revival next year for the 50th anniversary of 1970 novel ‘If Only They Could Talk’.
The broadcaster will air six hour-long episodes and a Christmas special.
The cast is yet to be confirmed, but ‘Downton Abbey’ director Brian Percival will helm the project.
Producers have promised to remain faithful to the novels, which have never gone out of print and have sold more than 60 million copies to date.
TV company Playground’s Colin Callender said: “It’s a responsibility we take very seriously.
“It will embrace the nostalgia of revisiting the England of the past, while celebrating Herriot’s values that still underpin British life today.”
Masterpiece’s Rebecca Heaton vowed to keep the “quirky charm of the original” series.
She added: “We promise the new series will have all the wit, warmth, and quirky charm of the original – and of course, lots of irresistible animals.”
Channel 5’s Sebastian Cardwell said: “We hope the heart-warming stories of community and compassion will resonate with new audiences.”
Filming is set to start in Yorkshire this year, while it’s not yet known if surviving original cast members Christopher, 78, or Peter, 68, will reprise their respective roles as James Herriot and Tristan Farnon.

Tom Holland wants to do Spider-Man-Love Island special

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland would love to take part in a ‘Spider-Man’-‘Love Island’ special.
The 23-year-old actor stars as the superhero in new move ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ and he would love to bring his character into the ITV2 dating show’s villa, because he is such a big fan of the programme.
He said: “What can only be binge watched with your BFF? ‘Love Island’.
“Can you imagine if we did a ‘Spider-Man’-‘Love Island’ special, where we’re on the island and in the villa all together.”
Tom often looks back fondly on last summer, partly because he was enjoying watching ‘Love Island’ so much, and also because England’s football team were progressing well in the World Cup until they came unstuck to Croatia at the semi-final stage.
Speaking in a video on The Hook, he added: “I think the summer of 2018 was the greatest summer of all time.
“Football was coming home for a long time and then it didn’t. ‘Love Island’ was on.”
But Tom isn’t the only superhero actor who is a fan of ‘Love Island’.
Last year, Margot Robbie – who plays Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’ – admitted she loves the programme, and was even surprised to find out the Islanders knew who she was.
She said at the time: “The other night we were watching and I think it was Alex who said that, and we all lost it.
“We were like, ‘Oh my God, they know who I am on ‘Love Island’.’ ”
But she didn’t see the similarities between herself and Megan Barton-Hanson.
She said: “I personally don’t see the resemblance.
“We’d just finished drinking beer and eating crisps and saying, ‘We’re so disgusting we could never be on ‘Love Island’, we’re such fatties, they would never let us on.’
“They all have some amazing bodies and they are so gorgeous and are always so done up and looking incredible, and then they said [I look like Megan] and we were like, ‘Oh my God.’ ”

Ray Quinn cuts Kieron Richardson’s hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Ray Quinn cuts his ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Kieron Richardson’s hair every week.
The pair need to have their tresses trimmed on a weekly basis for “continuity” purposes on the Channel 4 soap, and Ray – who plays Jonny Baxter – has been doing an “amazing job” snipping Kieron’s (Ste Hay) locks.
The 33-year-old star said: “A fun fact about Ray Quinn, and probably the most annoying fact about him, is that he’s so talented at everything.
“He can sing, he can dance, he can ice skate, he can act, and he can also do a neat fade with some scissors and a comb.
“He now does my weekly haircut … we have to get our hair cut every week because of continuity in the show.
“I was quite surprised when Ray told me he can cut hair and I don’t just let anybody cut my hair. He’s been cutting my hair and he’s done an amazing job.”
Kieron and Ray are currently playing out a far-right radicalisation storyline, in which Ste has joined Jonny’s extremist gang, and the star is planning to take some holidays because he is going to be “busy” in the near future.
Speaking about his summer plans, Kieron said: “I was going to try and get some holidays in but because I know where the storyline is going and how busy we are going to be.
“I’ve been trying to do lots of weekends away in the spring.
“Without giving anything away, my summer is going to be based on radicalisation and whether Ste will be able to escape the far right.”
Kieron recently revealed he was forced to quit social media due to an angry backlash over the hard-hitting plot.
He said: “I deleted my Twitter because people were hating on me and I was then trying to water down my performance as I didn’t want to offend people, but that is the wrong way to do it.
“I just got rid of it and now I go in every day and I do it to the best of my ability.”

Hayley Tamaddon hits back at troll

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Tamaddon has hit back at trolls, insisting “no one has the right to tell women what to do with our bodies”.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star took to Twitter to share pictures of her naked baby bump, but she faced a backlash from one social media user, who asked her to “put it away”.
Hayley wrote: “Almost 24 weeks and Feeling the stretch now! I’m smothered in @mamamio every little kick and punch is getting stronger. Feels incredibly and weirdly wonderful! (sic)”
But the Twitter user, who went by the name Linda, replied: “Ok, you’re pregnant. Now, put it away.”
Following some objection from Hayley’s fans, Linda also claimed she would tell someone in person to “put it away”, prompting the former ‘Emmerdale’ actress to reply: “Ooh Linda… sure you wanna keep going on here love? (sic)”
Hayley later thanked her fans for their support, and insisted she will continue to show off her bump if she wants to.
She tweeted: “You lot are a wonderful bunch! Besides Linda of course.. and 2 other trolls who I’ve blocked! Thanks for all your lovely positive tweets!
No one has the right to tell us women what to do with our bodies. And if I wanna show off my bump.. I’m gonna. sleep tight everyone. (sic)”
Hayley recently admitted she splashed out on a further 17 pregnancy tests after the first one she tried came back positive, because she couldn’t believe the result.
She said: “I must have taken 18 tests – 10 after my first one and then one each day throughout the week. I spent a fortune as we couldn’t believe it.
“The fact I’m 42 and having a baby is absolutely incredible. For so long I thought I couldn’t have children, it just never happened. Now that it has, everything feels natural and so right. We’re expecting a boy which is amazing and I’ve never been happier.”

James Buckley ‘really struggling’ with fame

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley is “really, really struggling” with fame – and says he is getting “closer and closer to never leaving the house again”.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ star – who played compulsive liar Jay Cartwright in the E4 sitcom – has been left feeling “anxious” and “uncomfortable” with the constant attention that comes with being in the spotlight.
He said: “I think I’m getting closer and closer to never leaving my house again.
“Because I’m struggling with it and I’m not even that famous.
“I’m not anywhere near Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or someone like that and I really, really struggle with it. It’s something I find really difficult.”
James has appealed to fans to speak to him rather than take secret pictures when he is out and about.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “Having people take secret pictures of me, it just fries my brain.
“I’m just a bloke – just come talk to me. I’d love to talk to you.”
James’ comments come after he admitted he “came across as a complete moron” during ‘The Inbetweeners’ reunion show in January, which was criticised by some fans, because he couldn’t keep up with the show’s host Jimmy Carr.
He said: “It became a thing that wasn’t a celebration of this good thing I did in my life, it was me being taken the p**s out of for hours on end.
“I didn’t have the personality or the intelligence to cope with it, especially when you’re up against someone like Jimmy Carr, who’s super quick and super funny. So I come across as a complete moron through the whole thing and also there was a bit where I got stuck.
“There would be a couple of times where I would say something and Jimmy would go, ‘Still bulls****ing.’ I got caught where I was acting up as Jay because there was an audience there of ‘Inbetweeners’ fans and I got caught in this spot between Jay and myself where myself I was going, ‘You’re acting like a f***ing idiot, you’re being a moron, you’re being a d***.’ ”

‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’ – which follows the two loveable slackers who travel through time – is scheduled for release in summer 2020 and sees Dean Parisot helming a script based on a screenplay by original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.
Steven Soderbergh is executive producing along with R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli.
Cast wise, William Sadler is set to return as Death.
The 69-year-old actor is back as the Grim Reaper in the upcoming sequel – which comes 28 years after the second instalment of the saga, ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’, which saw Death challenge Bill the duo in a game for their souls, which the pair ultimately win.
The film’s official Twitter account previously confirmed the casting news in a tweet which read: “For those who have been asking, @Wm_Sadler will totally be reprising his role! (sic)”

Jonny Bairstow eyes up Strictly Come Dancing stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonny Bairstow wants to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The England cricketer – who is currently playing in the World Cup – is a big fan of the BBC Latin and ballroom show, and while he would love to appear on the dancefloor, he would need “a good partner”.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I would do ‘Strictly’… as long as I get a good partner.”
However, the 29-year-old sportsman refused to name any of the pros he’d like to avoid because it could come back to bite him if they end up being paired together.
He added: “If you get partnered with someone you’ve said you don’t want to be with, it’s like shooting yourself in the foot. It’s like bumping into an ex-missus on a night out.”
Jonny suggested a “competitive edge” has helped cricketers succeed on ‘Strictly’ in the past, and while he is “not too good at ballroom”, he’s willing to learn.
Asked if he enjoys dancing, he said: “Not very much before 10pm. The paso doble looks really good fun. I’m not sure I’d be too good at ballroom but I think I could work on it.”
Last year, retired cricketer Graeme Swann was the ninth celebrity to be kicked off the show, and despite the disappointment he insisted he’d relished his time on ‘Strictly’, thanking Oti Mabuse for helping him to “fall in love” with dancing.
He said at the time: “This show and what you’ve got is something special and thank you for letting me be a part of it.
“Secretly I’ve had 25 years of ballroom experience but I kept that to myself!
“No, I was a novice coming in to this.
“This woman Oti is … this girl, sorry … she’s not old enough to be a woman obviously, has just made me fall in love with this whole dance nonsense that I thought it was before. I absolutely adore you for that.”
In 2006, cricket star Mark Ramprakash won the show alongside pro partner Karen Hardy, following on from former England team mate Darren Gough’s triumph with Lilia Kopylova the previous year.

Emmerdale’s Natalie Ann Jamieson wants Jodie Comer cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Ann Jamieson would “love” Jodie Comer to play a villain in ‘Emmerdale’.
The soap star – who replaced Chelsea Halfpenny as Amy Wyatt when she joined the cast earlier this year – hopes the ‘Killing Eve’ actress can make a cameo on the ITV show one day, and thinks she’s had the perfect preparation in the BBC show.
She told Inside Soap magazine: “I think Jodie Comer is amazing! I’d love to work with her, so it would be great if she could come into ‘Emmerdale’.
“She plays the villain very well, but her character in ‘Killing Eve’ is so complex – she’s one of those baddies that everyone loves. Soaps do those characters really well, too.”
Natalie made her debut in the ITV soap in March, and her on-screen mother Laura Norton – who plays Kerry Wyatt on the soap – was excited for the newcomer to take over the role of her on-screen daughter Amy five years after Chelsea’s exit.
She previously explained: “I’d like to think I have [taken her under my wing]. Watching her, you remember how scary it was when you started. I had lovely people around me.
“But just in terms of her character, helping her to make it her own. Natalie is a very good actress, and the character should be hers now.”
Natalie said at the time: “I feel very lucky to be joining the cast of such a loved and respected show. I’m very grateful for this opportunity, and can’t wait to find out what the future holds for Amy.”

Ruth Langsford ‘grateful’ for sympathetic messages following sister death

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford feels “grateful” for all the sympathetic messages she’s received following the death of her sister.
The TV presenter has been left devastated after her older sibling Julia passed away last week, and her husband and ‘This Morning’ co-host Eamonn Holmes passed on a message from her on today’s (28.06.19) show.
Speaking on the brunch-time programme, he said: “Ruth wants me to say to the production team, everybody who works here in this studio, she said, ‘Everyone of them has been in touch,’ and she’s so grateful for everything that everybody has said.
“So, thank you. She can’t reply to everything. She reads them all, and it’s much, much appreciated.”
Looking at his co-host Rylan Clark-Neal, who has been stepping in for Ruth on the show for the last two Fridays, Eamonn said: “He’s chief counsellor, he is.”
Rylan joked: “I know, how much are you paying me for this?”
Eamonn replied: “We’ll look after you, don’t worry. You’ll see when Christmas comes.”
Last Friday (21.06.19), Eamonn broke down on the show while explaining why Rylan was stepping in for Ruth.
Reading out a heartfelt tribute tweet she wrote the day before, he said: “Let me just explain why it is Rylan and myself today. You may already be aware of the terrible bereavement Ruth has had yesterday on her social media.
“She made this post to inform everyone and she said, ‘My lovely sis Julia has died after a long illness.
“‘My heart is completely broken. She was the kindest and most gentle soul …’ ”
As Eamonn struggled to hold back the tears, Rylan took over reading out Ruth’s tribute, saying: “‘And I’ll miss her forever as I am sure you will appreciate I need to take him to grieve. Thank you for your understanding.’ ”
Eamonn admitted he was grateful to Rylan for stepping in for Ruth, and revealed the former ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ host was the first person he called when he heard Julia had passed away. all of this.”

Lena Dunham ‘obsessed’ with Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham is “obsessed” with ‘Love Island’.
The ‘Girls’ star cannot get enough of the dating show, and she has told her fans to lookout for the American series – which is based on the British show – beginning on July 9th.
The US actress wrote on Twitter: “USA, #LoveIsland is coming your way July 9th. Like the most of the UK, I am obsessed with the show…. Just saying… (sic)”
Lena is a big fan of Islander Maura Higgins, who unleashed her fury on Tom Walker, who she is coupled up with, on last night’s (27.06.19) show after he called her “OTT” and admitted behind her back that she makes him “cringe” at times.
The ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ star shared a picture of Jesus with Maura’s face Photoshopped over his head, and credited the artwork to Irish comedienne Aisling Bea.
And she tweeted: “For you folks in the UK who are binging on @LoveIsland like me, like Maura, I want a partner who can match me, not a coward who thinks I’m OTT, cringey and an attention seeker! Team Maura! #loveisland (art by Aisling Bea) (sic)”
Lena’s comments came after Maura told Tom exactly what she thought of him after he had informed fellow Islander Jordan Hames he finds her “attention-seeking” and she makes him “cringe”.
Confronting him, she said: “Why weren’t you honest with me? Am I an attention seeker? Am I OTT? Do you honestly think that I want to speak to you.
“You’ve nothing to say for yourself because you know you’re a bare faced liar. Why did you get into bed with me last night and kiss me last night if you think I’m an attention seeker?
“How dare you say those things about me.”
