Tom Hanks’ Toy Story surprise

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks was surprised to hear ‘Toy Story 4’ was in the works.
The 62-year-old actor – who voices cowboy doll Woody in the iconic Pixar movie franchise – admits he was as shocked as some fans to hear there would be a fourth instalment.
Speaking to HeyUGuys, he said: “I had no idea where they would take this and in fact, when they said, hey there’ll be a fourth. I was like, ‘Are you sure? You really wanna take a stab at this?’ They no longer give you a script or they show you what the story is – they just talk to you. Maybe perhaps to talk themselves into it aswell. They never really talk about what the point of it is going to be because they find that out along the way.”
However, now Tom insists he “wouldn’t be surprised” if there ended up being a ‘Toy Story 5’.
He said: “Well, no one is planning on it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if somewhere two-and-a-half years from now someone has this kernel of an idea that could become it.
“None of the ‘Toy Story’ movies are in a schedule, they’re not in a pipeline. They don’t say, ‘on this date, we’ll start work on the next ‘Toy Story’ movie’. They wait until someone comes up with a Toy Story idea that is worthwhile pursuing. But I think it’s better that no one is anticipating that; I think there is a strength in saying, ‘this is as far as we’ve been able to go and we don’t see anything else coming after that’, because otherwise it ends up being some inorganic approach to something that has been very, very organic.”

Zendaya reveals Tom Holland safety fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya feared for Tom Holland’s safety whilst he was wearing his Spider-Man outfit.
The 22-year-old actress – who stars alongside Tom in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ – has admitted to worrying about the British actor’s health during their time on set.
Speaking to MTV News, Zendaya explained: “Honestly, the stories I’ve heard about him having to wear that suit, like I do not …
“You know what I think about all the time that really scares me? Is like, when he wears that mask that you can’t just take off, ’cause it’s all like one piece.
“I get scared all the time like, what if he’s working so hard that he throws up? And then he can’t, he chokes! I think about it all the time! That’s really scary … ’cause I look at him like, ‘Please, I hope he never gets sick, oh my god!'”
Meanwhile, Zendaya recently admitted she “got scared” when the battery-powered ‘Cinderella’ gown she wore to this year’s Met Gala “got really hot”.
The actress – who walked the red carpet in the light-up Disney Princess-inspired dress – revealed she had to change into a different outfit shortly after getting inside because the batteries and wires underneath the gown started to heat up.
She said: “The dress was like a science project. It was animatronic, and there were literally two people in the stands moving it with remote controls. I had no idea that it was going to heat up because there were so many batteries and wires in it.
“It got really hot – like, I was a little bit scared – and I just said, ‘I should probably get this off before I roast…'”

Dwayne Johnson proud to show Samoan culture

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was “excited and proud” to showcase Samoan culture in ‘Hobbs & Shaw’.
The 47-year-old actor – who is half-Samoan – admitted the “culture aspect” was key for him in staring in the ‘Fast & Furious’ spin-off, in particular as much of the movie was shot in co-star Jason Statham’s native UK.
Dwayne said: “The culture aspect was the most important thing for us, in addition to the chemistry.
“It was a really awesome opportunity to showcase both of our cultures, but ultimately, whether it’s British or Samoan culture, there’s an anchoring to these cultures: regardless of what you look like and what your bank account is and what your colour is – if you’re my family, I’ve got your back.
“That is a story point I was really excited and proud to showcase Samoan culture – because in this movie, really, it’s the first time ever that Samoan culture has been exposed in a big tentpole movie like this, that is a global earpiece.”
And Jason – who lives in Los Angeles with partner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and their son Jack, two – loved showcasing all he loves about Britain in the film.
He told Total Film magazine: “To be back home doing a big, fat movie in the UK, felt really good.
“And we’re shooting down on the streets, outside the Leadenhall Building. I was there with a f***ing machine gun, outside the Lloyd’s builting and jumping in the McLaren.
“I get to embrace the British f***ing refinements. I’m rocking around in a 720S McLaren, British-made, made in Surrey.
“I’m wearing the old Saville Row suit and I’ve got my Budd shirt and my Cleverly shoes – all of my British attire.
“We’re back in the UK, making a big american blockbuster. But most of the cast is British. They’re severely outnumbered. Rule Britannia.”

Jeremy Renner would’ve rejected Thor role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Renner doesn’t think he’s suited to playing a superhero like Thor.
The 48-year-old actor – who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – has insisted he could only ever play a relatable superhero, like Hawkeye, rather than the so-called God of Thunder.
Speaking on the Life Is Short podcast, Jeremy recalled: “When they showed me my character … it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s great, it’s just a guy with no superpower – he’s just got a high skill set.’ I can actually attach to that.”
By contrast, Jeremy felt he couldn’t relate to the character of Thor, meaning he would have declined the role if it was offered to him by Marvel.
He said: “I’d have passed on Thor all day long – not that I’d ever be cast in that – but like, that kind of thing I’d be like, ‘I don’t know how to do that, I’m sorry.'”
Last year, meanwhile, it was revealed Jeremy missed out on a cameo role in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ because of his commitment to Marvel.
The actor was originally lined up to appear in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and although he didn’t make the final cut, his relationship with the studio meant he was unable to commit to the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie, according to director Christopher McQuarrie.
He said: “Jeremy had his commitment to ‘Avengers’, which ironically they ended up not exercising, and we didn’t know what the [sixth ‘Mission’] movie was, so we couldn’t provide a schedule. We needed absolute freedom.
“The unfortunate thing for Jeremy is that he got caught in this perfect storm of, one can’t use you and one doesn’t know how to, given the massive complications they had with ‘Avengers’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr Ranj contemplated suicide before coming out as gay a decade ago.
The 40-year-old doctor – who frequently appears on ‘This Morning – has revealed he considered taking his own life as he struggled to come to terms with his sexuality.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper, the 40-year-old TV star shared: “I was truly broken. I felt like I was a really bad, horrible person just for being true to myself.
“In times like that, you have really dark thoughts and I did have times when I thought it would be easier not to be here.”
Ranj – who left his wife as he gradually came to terms with being gay – said he was forced to “put myself together again” after coming out.
However, he’s thrilled that his family have been so supportive of him.

Meanwhile, Ranj previously admitted he doesn’t like thinking about the moment he told his wife he was gay.
He confessed: “It was so hard and I still don’t like thinking about it. I felt like my heart had been wrenched out of my chest.
“I was completely broken. It was the lowest point in my life. I can only imagine how hard it was for my wife, though – she didn’t deserve any of that. I feel so incredibly sorry for what she had to go through.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Schumer has recorded a special message in praise of ‘Love Island’ star Maura Higgins.
The Hollywood actress is a self-confessed fan of the ITV show, and Amy has now thrown her support behind Maura, describing the brunette beauty as her “homie”.

Prior to her confession, Maura and Curtis had a chat in the kitchen, when a white feather landed next to them on the surface.
She told him: “They say that a white feather in an angel close by trying to tell you something. Have you not heard about that?”

Jon Favreau ‘moved’ by James Earl Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Favreau found it “moving and surreal” hearing James Earl Jones record his vocals for ‘The Lion King’.
The 88-year-old actor voiced Mufasa in the original animated film and the director of the upcoming live action take on the story was keen to keep the “legacy” of the original film by asking James to take on the part again.
He said: “I see it as carrying the legacy across. Just hearing him saying the lines is moving and surreal.”
And with 25 years having past since the animation was released, Jon thinks the changes to James’ voice worked well with his film.
He added to Empire magazine: “The timbre of his voice has changed.
“That served the role well because he sounds like a king who’s ruled for a long time.
“He sounds like someone passing the torch from one generation to the next.”
Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen have taken on the roles of Timon and Pumbaa and found it daunting to follow in the footsteps of Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella.
Billy said: “Nathan Lane was my hero ever since I was a child. Playing a role he’d played was thrilling, but terrifying.
“Seth and I would look at each other, like, ‘Thank God you’re here and I don’t have to do it alone.’ ”
And the two actors were relieved that the director allowed them to improvise their scenes.
Billy added: “Both Seth and I come from the comedy world and we like to improvise.
“At first we’d read with the script in our hands but that made us stiff.
“Then Jon said, ‘Throw down your script, start from the beginning and just go through it. Try to remember the beats but the actual words aren’t important.’ ”

Halle Bailey for The Little Mermaid

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Bailey is to star as Ariel in Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’.
The 19-year-old singer and actress has been cast as the Disney princess in the upcoming live action movie, directed by Rob Marshall.
He said: “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance – plus a glorious singing voice – all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”
The film – which will feature beloved songs from the animated classic by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as new songs by Menken (music) and Miranda (lyrics) – will be produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, Marc Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Production will begin in early 2020.
Meanwhile, Awkwafina and Jacob Tremblay are said to be in talks for ‘The Little Mermaid’, with Awkwafina set to portray Scuttle, the seagull while the 12-year-old actor will lend his voice to the role of faithful fish friend Flounder.
Melissa McCarthy is also in talks to play Ursula, the sea witch, in the Disney movie.
Meanwhile, Menken previously opened up about the incoming Disney movies.
He said: “They all seem to be moving that way! ‘The Little Mermaid’s next, with Rob Marshall directing and I’m going to be having lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda – who I knew since he was a little kid! They’re developing ‘Hunchback [of Notre Dame]’, which will be complicated because there are dark aspects to that which we’re going to have to navigate. I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to do ‘Pocahontas’, I think that story is going to be difficult. With modern sensibilities, it’d be hard – you’re going to offend somebody – so I don’t know.”

Terry Crew says White Chicks sequel in the works?

OHMYGOSSIP — Terry Crews has insisted a ‘White Chicks’ sequel is in the works.
The 50-year-old actor – who starred as Latrell Spencer in the 2004 comedy movie – has revealed the hit film will soon be getting a sequel.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, he said: “I actually got with Shawn and he was like, ‘Man, we’re doing it. We’re getting it going.’ 15 years ago you have to understand. As of this month, 15 years. I’m staying in shape just for that movie. I’ve been working out for 15 years so we can do ‘White Chicks 2’ y’all! Please! Please!”
The original ‘White Chicks’ movie follows the story of two FBI agent brothers – Marcus (Marlon Wayans) and Kevin Copeland (Shawn Wayans) – who are forced to transform themselves into a pair of blonde, white women after a pair of socialites they are told to escort to a party to be used as bait for a kidnapper refuse to go.
It is not the first time there has been talk about a ‘White Chicks’ sequel.

There has been no official confirmation from any studios as of yet but fans are hoping the sequel will finally be made after one fell through in 2009.

Carry On’s boss says new films will have signature sixties humour

OHMYGOSSIP — The upcoming ‘Carry On’ films will take its humour “back to the sixties”.
Brian Baker has spent over $630,000 purchasing the rights to sell ‘Carry On’ related merchandise in an attempt to revive the comedy franchise – which was loved by audiences for its double entendres and slapstick fun -by selling enough products to eventually finance three new movies.
The 72-year-old film producer has now revealed that his forthcoming films won’t focus on “political correctness” and argued that the franchise’s original founder Peter Rodgers was “never offensive to women”.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “Going back to the sixties we had a great ability to laugh at ourselves, we didn’t take ourselves too seriously and Peter Rodgers was never offensive to women. In fact, he was a perfect gentleman in every shape and way. And sometimes these people talk about political correctness, they’re just trying to draw attention to themselves and make themselves look important.”
Although Brian insisted the reboot will include some of the original films’ signature tongue-in-cheek humour, he’ll be careful not to “go too far”.
He said: “There are some times you can go too far. It’s finding that happy medium.”
Baker bought the rights after winning a legal battle against ITV in which a judge ruled the network was not using the brand meaning its trademark became invalid.
The ‘Carry On’ film franchise carved the path for legendary stars such as Dame Barbara Windsor, Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims and Leslie Phillips.
The last ‘Carry On’ movie to hit the big screen was 1992’s ‘Carry On Columbus’ and the producer has insisted he wishes to continue the legacy of the films’ founder.
He said: “This ruling means we can carry out Peter Rogers’s legacy and get everything into gear.”

Jake Gyllenhaal ‘has fun’ playing dark characters

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Gyllenhaal says he “has fun” playing dark characters.
The 38-year-old actor – who is known for roles such as troubled teen Donnie Darko in the 2001 cult film of the same name and Louis Bloom in 2014 thriller ‘Nightcrawler’ – confessed that it “brings him joy” to explore “dark subjects” in his work as he’s able to use his “imagination” more when scenes are sinister.
When asked whether he had memories which were “tinged in darkness” when he was playing certain characters, he told Collider: “I mean I have days that I feel like are tinged in darkness and days that I feel great joy I think it depends on the character.
“Someone asked me once what it was like to play a lot of dark characters and I was like I have fun doing it. Which seems to be off for people to understand like oh there all these dark subjects how can you have fun? And it’s what I love like it brings me joy. I come out of a scene that was sort of madness sometimes and I’m like that was so fun because being an actor you need your imagination”
The ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ star went on explained that imagination is a key tool for an actor and thinks that it’s “no fun” and “ultimately not any better” to enter the “real world”.
He said: “And If you lose your imagination you’re done for and I’ve gone through different things where I’ve lost my imagination.
“I’ve gone completely into the real world with things; it’s no fun and ultimately not any better in my opinion.”

Mark Wright to return to TOWIE for 10-year special?

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wright looks set to return to ‘The Only Way is Essex’ for a 10-year reunion special.
That’s according to Billie Faiers’ husband Greg Shepherd, who has fuelled speculation the former ‘Extra’ reporter – who is one of the original cast members – could be back on the ITVBe show for the milestone episode.
Greg said: “I’ve heard Mark Wright is doing it – I can’t envisage him going from interviewing Elton John to filming ‘TOWIE’, but who knows.”
When she was also quizzed about who might appear in the programme, Billie told OK! magazine in a joint interview that she didn’t “know much about it”.
Mark – who is now married to former ‘Coronation Street’ star Michelle Keegan – appeared in the first three series of ‘TOWIE’ from 2010 to 2012, during which he was engaged to Lauren Goodger, and he also had a fling with Lucy Mecklenburgh on the show.
In April, Lauren – who appeared in the first six series – admitted she would return to the reality show for a 10-year reunion episode.
When a fan asked if she would join a reunion show during an Instagram Q&A, Lauren replied: “Of course series 1 won a bafter [BAFTA] and made it was it is today. I was a huge part. (sic)”
Following her response, another fan urged her to rejoin the reality series as it needs “livening up”.
But Lauren quipped: “Too much drama I’d be involved in HHahaha. (sic)”
Billie’s sister Sam Faiers previously urged ITV to make a 10-year special show.
She said: “Ten years this September is my first ‘TOWIE’ show. ITV should do a reunion for 10 years.
“They should make one with all the cast because 10 years is a long time and so much has happened since then.
“I always know how long it’s been because I started the show when I was 19 – I’m 28 now.”

Romesh Ranganathan required stitches after A League of Their Own stunt goes wrong

OHMYGOSSIP — Romesh Ranganathan required hospital treatment after he was accidentally elbowed in the face by Jamie Redknapp on ‘A League of Their Own’.
The 41-year-old comedian didn’t appear to be laughing when he shared a picture of himself wearing a swimming cap over his left eye, after he had four stitches above his eye and was told to keep them dry following a challenge that went wrong on the Sky One quiz show.
Sharing the picture on Instagram, he added the caption: “Make sure you keep the stitches dry.”
Jamie – who broke his wrist on the show last year after Romesh hurled a football at him from 120ft – jokingly replied: “I mean it was 2 stitches you’re a joke . You broke my wrist I have never mentioned it (sic)”
In the latest incident, former footballer Jamie was said to have been stood at the bottom of a ramp when Romesh slid down and whacked into him, with the padding on the 46-year-old star’s outfit catching 41-year-old Romesh above the eye, leaving him bleeding.
A show source told The Sun newspaper: “Romesh tried to shrug it off but it just wouldn’t stop so had to go to A&E after. He had four stitches but is in good spirits.”
Romesh was given a plaster but he had to go to hospital to have stitches when the wound wouldn’t stop bleeding.
Jamie also had to go to hospital last year when he fractured his wrist during filming on the show when Romesh dropped a ball on him from 120ft.
A source said at the time: “The boys were trying to break a world record when Jamie had his accident.
“Romesh went up a huge crane and dropped a football on Jamie, who was standing directly beneath him.
“Jamie put his right arm up to protect his head but the ball came down at such a pace, it caused Jamie a lot of pain.
“Jamie put on a brave face and continued with the show before taking a trip to hospital.
“He was diagnosed with a broken scaphoid bone and is expected to film the rest of the series in a cast.”

Jack P Shepherd and Ben Price film Corrie scenes in Moors Murderers’ cells

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack P. Shepherd and Ben Price shot ‘Coronation Street’ trial scenes in cells used to hold the evil Moors Murderers.
The pair’s sibling characters David Platt and Nick Tilsley will go on trial next week after stealing and spending their gran Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) £80,000 inheritance, and some filming took place in a cell downstairs at Chester Crown Court, where Myra Hindley and Ian Brady were housed as they awaited trial for killing kids.
A source said: “During the trial of the Moors Murderers at Chester Crown Court, Hindley and Brady would be brought in each day and held in a cell downstairs before, and during breaks in, proceedings.
“As David and Nick’s trial was held there, a couple of scenes were filmed in those cells – and it was pointed out to them and the crew who had once been held there.”
The ‘Corrie’ cast and crew were said to have been left “a little bit creeped out” by the location.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “It’s fair to say that everyone who worked in the cells felt a little bit creeped out by it.”
In May 1966, Brady was handed three concurrent life sentences for “three calculated, cruel, cold-blooded murders”, and Hindley was sentenced to two concurrent life sentences for two killings and found not guilty of the other. In 1987, the pair admitted to killing another two youngsters.
Nick and David will appear in court next week after they used their gran’s inheritance to buy barbers Trim Up North, and there will be no love lost between the brothers during the trial scenes.
Ben recently admitted he and Jack are not afraid to be “quite nasty to each other” on ‘Coronation Street’ because they are so close in real life.
When asked what it is like playing squabbling siblings, Ben said: “Yeah, we love all that. We do get on really well and because of that we are not afraid to be quite nasty to each other.
“It’s essential when you are going for it, you go for it.
“It’s very easy to work with Jack because we both recognise that, especially on ‘Coronation Street’, you have to show different sides of a character.
“This is a family story and that’s why I think they are such a strong family because we all play our parts.”
